i was tagged by @thenelse to do 8 shows to get to know me better...ok honestly i dont watch a lot of tv. i mostly watch the same shows over and over so i actually could barely list 8. fyi the first 4 are probs my favorite shows but the rest are just shows that have impacted my life in some way. please dont judge me i swear i have good taste in other things 👍

1. yellowjackets obviously because it has literally everything i could ever ask for in a tv show. it irreparably alters my brain chemistry on a weekly basis

2. always sunny in philly. i can always bond with my girl friends’ boyfriends over this one LOL. ive seen every single episode a truly embarrassing number of times and i dream of being randomly thrust into a trivia situation where there is a question about always sunny because i have an obscene amount of knowledge on always sunny lore and am 100% confident i would nail it.

3. arrested development. second only to always sunny in the making lanie laugh category. tobias funke character of all time

4. haunting of hill house. winner of the making lanie cry category. great autumnal watch, i love rewatching around halloween. bent neck lady reveal had me legitimately in shambles

5. i mean the office i guess. i watched it in high school or maybe college,  mostly because my friends were always referencing it and i wanted to get the jokes...and lol i rly thought jim/pam was peak romance. luckily now im older and wiser and know jackieshauna is peak romance

6. back in college i watched all of friends because of a vaguely homoerotic bestie situation that later imploded and the one perk of losing her was that i was finally free to admit that show fucking sucks especially ross fuck that guy fr. me and my friends would have killed ross with hammers i can tell you that much

7. i used to watch bones with my parents when i was probably a little too young to be watching it. perhaps this is the origin of my fascination with morbid things

8. another childhood nostalgia show is monty python’s flying circus which i always watched with my dad. to this day we are capable of annoying everyone else in the room by having an entire conversation made up of monty python quotes (complete with bad fake accents)

EDIT BECAUSE I FORGOT THE MOST OBVIOUS ONE I KNEW I WAS MISSING SOMETHING: DARK (the german time travel one) thats actually a legit favorite of mine, took me on so many emotional journeys and made me laugh and weep and theorize and ponder. and it was good german practice 👍

Hailing from Portland, Oregon via DJ and label owner G.WIZ.SKI (James Vance), for a while in the 2010s, Omega Supreme was a hot spot for brand new Modern Funk. If you don't know about it, it is simply progressive:  taking cue from the electronic Boogie and funk of the 80s and 90s, applying and taking it in a modern direction.  Basically...music that I've always wanted to make/hear. With artists like Sasac, Turquoise Summers, First Touch, K-Maxx and others, the unified minimal geometic album designs were a vibe, melting right into the aesthetic of this area of Funk music.  And as if it wasn't already the dopeness, the availability on vinyl as well as cassette was the aesthetic and zeal of Omega Supreme. In recent years, output from the label has been null.  Whether the label is on hiatus or defunct is unknown to me, but all of the releases from the label are still available via Bandcamp.  And if it is truly a thing of the past, I am glad to have discovered it (thanks DâM Funk), spoken to Mr. Vance (really nice guy!), bought dopeness (Sasac is my shizz!) and grateful for the movement. This is the best graphic novel I think I have read in the last couple years. The book came out in 2013 and is a sequel to Kings in Disguise, which I haven't read but heard is also really good. The art matches the story well, although it's a little confusing in a couple spots. I felt the book actually had some of the best fight and action scenes that I've read in a comic in years. Definitely, a lot more to the story than the fight scenes. 9th April 1747, Scottish Clan chief Simon Fraser, 12th baron Lovat, known as ‘the Fox’, becomes the last man in British history to be beheaded for his support of Bonnie Prince Charlie, and the Jacobite rebellion, which supported the reinstatement of the house of Stuart on the the throne. The rebellion ended after its initial successes at the Battle of Culloden in 1745, which took place on the 16th April 1746. 10th April 1512, birth of James V, King of Scotland, who reigned from this day until 1542. The third son of King James IV of Scotland and his wife Margaret Tudor, daughter of Henry VII of England and sister of Henry VIII. In October 1542, the Scots survived a serious defeat to the English at the Battle of Solway Moss. Said to be grief stricken after the defeat, it is claimed that he died of a nervous collapse in December. In his deathbed he was given the news that his daughter was born. This daughter would be crowned Mary Queen of Scots when he died six days later. James V of Scotland was born . . ◼ On this day in 1512, James V, King of Scotland, was born at Linlithgow Palace. . ◼ He was the fourth child of James IV & Margaret Tudor, sister of Henry VIII. He was the only one of James & Margaret’s children to survive childhood, & so inherited the crown of Scotland when his father was killed at the Battle of Flodden, 9th September 1513. . ◼ James was just seventeen months old when he was crowned King at Stirling on 21st September 1513, so Scotland was ruled by regents: his mother, Margaret, then John Stewart, 2nd Earl of Albany & Robert Maxwell, 5th Lord Maxwell. . ◼ In 1525, his stepfather, Archibald Douglas, 6th Earl of Angus, took custody of James & so acted as regent for him for the next three years until James escaped & decided to reign over Scotland in his own right. . ◼ James was married twice. His first wife was the French Princess Madeleine of Valois, daughter of Francis I of France, whom he married on 1st January 1537.
