Concept for a comedy-fantasy movie:
A movie about a session of Dungeons and Dragons that switches off between the players’ imagination and real life. Sort of like how “The Princess Bride” was both the fairy tale and the grandfather telling the story in the real world. Also, sorta like “Jumanji 2” where it’s people talking through their game avatars.
Anthony Mackie plays the DM and, in-game, the wizard that guides the party.
Zendaya plays the lead player and her character, a ranger, is played by Winston Duke.
Tom Holland plays the overexcited nerd of the group and his character, a wizard, is played by Natalie Portman.
Lana Condor plays the newbie/noob of the group and her character, a rogue, is played by Diego Luna.
Nick Robinson plays the asshole nerd (the “um, actually” guy) of the group and his character, a barbarian, is played by Dave Bautista.
Maisie Williams plays a valley girl/social media influencer who is streaming this session of Dungeons and Dragons to her followers and her character, a cleric, is played by Gemma Chan.
Jacob Tremblay plays the kid of the group who is actually the best player and his character, a warlock, is played by David Harbour.
Josh Brolin plays the old guy of the group who was invited to play by his friend, Anthony Mackie, and his character, a bard, is played by Jack Black.
Rashida Jones plays an in-game noble.
Kit Harrington cameos as a ranger that is so obviously a parody of Jon Snow.
Andy Serkis plays the main villain, the mindflayer.

Review : Doctor Sleep (2019)
When you think about authors that have made an impact on the film industry, it’s hard to think of a name more prolific that Stephen King. Countless books of his have been adapted into films, with scores more waiting in the wings. Several of his books went from being single entries to series, and recently, one of his most famous books, The Shining, received a follow-up entry. 2019 saw this follow-up hit the big screen in the form of Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep.
In the wake of the Overlook Hotel tragedy, Wendy Torrance (Alex Essoe) and her young son Danny (Roger Dale Floyd) have moved to Florida to try and bring normalcy back to their lives. Danny, who is in a state of shock due to narrowly escaping the Overlook with his life, has not spoken since the incident, but with the help of Dick Hallorann (Carl Lumbly), Danny learns how to trap the ghosts from the Overlook in his head. Meanwhile, a group known as the True Knot, led by the mysterious Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson), seeks those with the Shining in hopes of capturing their essence, which they refer to as Steam. In 2011, Dan (Ewan McGregor) finds himself in a worse alcoholic state than his father, wandering from city to city in hopes of escaping rock bottom and himself. As he settles into a small New Hampshire town, he meets Billy (Cliff Curtis), who helps Dan secure work and join an AA group in hopes of cleaning up his life. At this time, Rose the Hat and her group discover Snakebite Andi (Emily Alyn Lind), a young and talented drifter who uses her Shining talents to teach men who prey on young girls a dangerous lesson, and after a little convincing, Rose convinces Andi to join the True Knot fold. Eight years pass by, and while Dan is thriving in his attempt at a new life, the True Knot finds themselves starving due to a lack of discovering sources of Steam. In a drastic measure, the group kidnaps a young boy named Bradley (Jacob Tremblay) and tortures and murders him for Steam, which awakens a young and powerful Shining user named Abra (Kyliegh Curran), causing a ripple effect that connects Abra to Dan. As Abra urges Dan to assist her in discovering the whereabouts of Bradley and the True Knot, she also makes attempts at getting into Rose’s head, causing a collision course between Dan, Abra, the True Knot, and eventually, the Overlook Hotel.
The way that this film manages to play fan service to both Stephen King and Stanley Kubrick fans is a truly fascinating feat. Instantly, we are immersed into the familiar world of the Overlook hotel, and the choice to cast actors who resemble the original cast of The Shining immediately washes the viewer in a sense of familiarity. Much of the expositional backstory need is eliminated because we under the circumstances that led up to where the story begins, and with a basic understanding of what practitioners of the Shining are capable of, the table is set for a wide range of new characters with a wide range of Shining-based powers to explore. The sense of familiarity to a horror of the past permeates throughout the story, with references from Danny’s past finding their way back into his life, as well as echoes of the past occurring constantly, with Dan replacing Jack Torrance in plenty of iconic situations.
The film pays tons of respect to both King and Kubrick in terms of lore expansion and callback moments. Giving the Shining an almost Force-like need for balance creates a mystical tug of war between Dan and Abra and the True Knot, with tons of psychic psychological warfare taking place between Shining users in the form of trickery, deception and dangerous traps with real world consequences. Several interesting ideas are presented during the course of the narrative, many of which I am still dwelling on at the moment. For example, the idea that technology and medication can dull the gift of the Shining, while not an original idea in terms of ‘mysticism’ and evolution, is presented without the need for heavy-handed examples to be shown. One line of dialogue that stuck with me involved Dan mentioning to Abra about Tony being his imaginary friend, to which Abra responds that she thought Dan was her imaginary friend... does this mean that Tony is a real person that Dan never got the opportunity to cross paths with, simply because he didn’t understand his power at the time? The idea that the Overlook cycles its victims through the numerous roles it casts its ghost in is also a fascinating one, as Jack replaces Lloyd, and Dan ultimately replaces Jack.
Normally, I wouldn’t go for what could be boiled down to big-budget fan-fiction, but execution of Doctor Sleep checks every box I imagine I would have. The use of a nearly identical score keeps the ominous energy of The Shining present, but the bigger world expands the sense of danger. Watching characters in the film return to the Overlook is crazy, as the callbacks to locations throughout are stunning and startling in terms of the way the original look and energy is re-created... sort of like a nostalgia aesthetic was the idea. For fans of Kubrick’s interpretation of The Shining, and those who noticed its obvious influence on King’s dive into Doctor Sleep as a novel, this film is an answer to their prayers.
Ewan McGregor and his attempts at controlling his fear of what he’s capable of are portrayed well, especially with the red herring of alcoholism being the possible issue in his life (at least to strangers). Kyliegh Curran does a great job of exuding confidence and curiosity in her powers that she does not fully understand, which in turn gets her in over her head before she realizes. Rebecca Ferguson is captivating as Rose the Hat, using a magnetic personality to draw people into her fold. Cliff Curtis is a solid representation for the support system that McGregor seeks, as well as serving as an audience avatar in a world full of mystic characters. Emily Alyn Lind and Zahn McClarmon are standout members of the True Knot, paralleling off of one another as a showboat and someone who plays their cards close to the chest. Carl Lumbly, Alex Essoe, Henry Thomas and Roger Dale Floyd manage to ring the bells of familiarity in their roles as the iconic characters from The Shining, and do so without upsetting our train of thought or enjoyment of the film. Appearances by Bruce Greenwood, Jocelin Donahue, Zackary Momoh, Jacob Tremblay, the numerous members of the True Knot, and a cameo by Danny Lloyd round things out.
This film surprised me, despite there not being much definitive out in terms of critical or crowd reaction. I went into it expecting to enjoy the experience, but I was surprised that Doctor Sleep left the impression on me that it did. Look for this one to more than likely end up in my top ten of the year.

10 Most Exciting Sequels We Won't See Until 2021 | ScreenRant
We’re living in the age of sequels now. Franchises rule the box office. Once in a while, an original movie like Gravity or Inception will come along and make a big splash, but usually, the biggest winners are the sequels.
RELATED: 10 Movie Sequels That Completely Changed Genres
In fact, it’s gotten to the point that studios plan more than one sequel at a time – especially with franchises that comprise various other franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and they schedule them years in advance. That means we can get excited for movies that are years away. So, here are the 10 Most Exciting Sequels We Won’t See Until 2021.
10 Avatar 2 (December 17)
Obviously, we have to take this one with a pinch of salt. The first sequel (of a planned four) to James Cameron’s Avatar was supposed to be released in 2014. It’s since been delayed so many times that it’s become an inside joke in the film industry. The sequel will bring back old stars like Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, but it’ll also introduce some exciting new cast members, including Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel, and Michelle Yeoh. While some moviegoers have lost interest in Avatar, realizing that it’s basically just Pocahontas with aliens, real film buffs have faith in Cameron. He’s never steered us wrong before and he’s planning even more revolutionary technology to shoot the sequel.
9 Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness (May 7)
Although the first Doctor Strange movie from back in 2016 wasn’t as exciting a debut as some of the MCU’s others, like Guardians of the Galaxy or Black Panther, the last two Avengers movies have helped to drum up audience interest in the Sorcerer Supreme. Plus, his upcoming standalone sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – set to be released on May 7, 2021 – sounds awesome. It’ll reportedly be the MCU’s first horror movie and it’ll see Doctor Strange team up with a retconned Scarlet Witch fresh off her Disney+ series to take on the multiverse, possibly in the story involving the villain Nightmare.
8 Jurassic World 3 (June 11)
Last year’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom certainly left a lot to be desired. It was essentially The Last Jedi of the Jurassic World trilogy. However, just like The Rise of Skywalker is shaping up to be an exciting prospect as it strives to redeem the current Star Wars trilogy, Jurassic World 3 might have all the answers. The best thing about Fallen Kingdom was the sequel it set up.
RELATED: 5 Characters We Want To See Return In Jurassic World 3 (& 5 We Don't)
Now, dinosaurs are co-existing with humans in urban environments. That’s a compelling jumping-off point. Jurassic World 3, which will undoubtedly get a new title closer to the time, will hit theaters on June 11, 2021, keeping up the franchise’s one-movie-every-three-years quota.
7 John Wick: Chapter 4 (May 21)
Just when you think the makers of the John Wick franchise can’t possibly raise the stakes even more, they go and do it. The series began with a deceptively simplistic premise – an ex-assassin reluctantly heads back into action to get revenge for the murder of his adorable dog – and it has since been building up a more complex fictional world than Star Trek. While some passive viewers think a fourth installment of the franchise will be overkill, frankly, as long as Keanu Reeves is willing to keep making these visceral, ultraviolent action thrillers, then fans will keep eagerly turning up to see them.
6 Space Jam 2 (July 16)
On July 16, 2021, we’ll be getting a sequel to the Looney Tunes basketball comedy Space Jam. LeBron James is replacing Michael Jordan as the NBA superstar hitting the court with the Looney Tunes characters. James is also acting as a producer on the film alongside Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, who is also writing the script with Sev Ohanian, the writer behind the screen-based thriller Searching. Girls Trip director Malcolm D. Lee is at the helm, while Don Cheadle and The Walking Dead star Sonequa Martin-Green are playing supporting roles. Suffice to say, there’s some serious talent attached to this one.
5 Sherlock Holmes 3 (December 22)
It spelled trouble for Avengers: Endgame when Robert Downey, Jr. signed on to star in his first Sherlock Holmes movie since Earth’s mightiest heroes first assembled. Now that we know why his schedule has cleared up, all we can do is look forward to the continuation of his other blockbuster franchise. The first two Sherlock Holmes movies, directed by Guy Ritchie, did a great job of bringing Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mysteries onto the big screen. The threequel, due in theaters on December 22, 2021, has Rocketman’s Dexter Fletcher behind the camera, replacing Ritchie, and it will reportedly explore Holmes and Watson’s co-dependent relationship.
4 Fantastic Beasts 3 (November 12)
The third movie in the Fantastic Beasts franchise was set to be released in November 2020. However, it was pushed back to make room for Denis Villeneuve’s the new adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic Dune. Now, it’ll be released on November 12, 2021. (It had to be November – the other two were released in November and they were both hits, so Warner Bros. knows November works.) J.K. Rowling has apparently planned out five films in the Fantastic Beasts series that will carry Newt Scamander from 1926 to 1945. The third one has reportedly cast Jacob Tremblay to play a young Voldemort.
3 Indiana Jones 5 (July 9)
We were supposed to be getting the fifth Indiana Jones movie earlier than this, but Steven Spielberg decided to make a new movie version of West Side Story first. So, it’ll be released on July 9, 2021, which is at least a summer date – Indy’s adventures are better suited to the summer season.
RELATED: Indiana Jones 5: 10 Scrapped Ideas From Previous Sequels It Should Use
Spielberg already tried to make a belated Indiana Jones sequel with a rapidly aging Harrison Ford, as you’ll surely remember, and it didn’t turn out so well. However, it seems as though the director is taking precautions to ensure that there is no fridge-nuking in this one and it’ll actually satisfy fans like the original trilogy did.
2 Mission: Impossible 7 (July 23)
Right after Christopher McQuarrie, the director of Rogue Nation and Fallout, said he was done with the Mission: Impossible franchise, Paramount managed to sign him on to helm the seventh and eighth installments back-to-back. McQuarrie has a terrific working relationship with Tom Cruise, as the two are always pushing each other to go bigger and better (as shown by their two existing M:I collaborations), so with Mission: Impossible 7, we’re looking at even wilder stunts, wider scope, and more ambitious storytelling. Plot details are scarce at the moment, but it has been confirmed that Rebecca Ferguson will return to the role of Ilsa Faust.
1 Thor: Love And Thunder (November 5)
There weren’t many fans who were interested in Thor’s solo franchise in the MCU until Taika Waititi came along and revitalized it with Thor: Ragnarok, a zany comedy inspired by Flash Gordon. Naturally, Marvel has hired Waititi back to write and direct a sequel, Thor: Love and Thunder. After giving him a boring God of Thunder to fix, they’re now giving him a boring romantic interest to fix. Love and Thunder will see Jane Foster become worthy of adopting the mantle of “Thor” from Odinson, while Valkyrie searches the cosmos for a queen to help her run New Asgard. Due to hit theaters on November 5, 2021, this should be a doozy.

Good Boys Review: Basically The Live-Action South Park You Didn’t Know You Needed It was approximately five minutes into the newest Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg-produced comedy Good Boys, where child actor Jacob Tremblay mutters "F*** yeah!" after creating a female avatar with big breasts on a World of Warcraft-like online game and prepares to masturbate, that I realized I was witnessing the world premiere of the live-action South Park movie I never knew I needed. 893 more words

“A GHOST STORY”
“The big list”, on dirait bien 😉 !
