What I love about KinCoy (Jack McCoy x Claire Kincaid ) Ship

Some people make it seem as if Jack was this messy man sleeping with his assistants as if he had a fetish.

is that they bring up jack love life like it was some messy situation ship and it was anything but that,

he DATED all of these women. nothing was ambiguous, it was all official committed relationships.

Jack was "crazy about Claire" according to Sam Waterston and it seems like had she lived he would have married her and had a family.

they kept a secret to protect their jobs for the time being and probably wold have "come out the closet" with their relationship as he has done with his other relationships at some point. (no one can keep REAL love a secret for to long not because they get found out but because they get tired if hiding it)

None of his exes report him for being a terrible boss or even manipulative lover. whatever reason they broke up they never clarify (which I HATE to the core of my bones because we see hi with Claire and he's downright lovely )

like why y'all keep calling these women "lovers"

they DATED

as in boyfriend&girlfriend. COMMITTED , monogamous RELATIONSHIPS!

Jack and Claire are intimate, kind, respectful of eachother and had a bright future ahead of them (whether she stayed at her job or not because ei highly doubt hell give her up if she left the office)

Cas wiped Lisa and Ben’s mind of all memories of Dean and then inserted himself into the role of loving wife and made sure Dean was involved in raising Claire and Jack. Dude was sly as hell

I love the episode structure of LOST because so often it’s a very serious storyline paired with a very unserious storyline. It’s always something like

“John’s dad steals his kidney and leaves him for dead. Back on the island, Sawyer gets a new pair of glasses.”

“Sayid is held captive and brutally tortured while Hurley golfs.”

“Charlie deals with horrific PTSD after being kidnapped, hanged and revived. Meanwhile, Jack, Kate, and Sawyer, toss a bag back and forth.”

“Boone is tied up, drugged, and left for dead in the dangerous jungle while Hurley battles a tummy ache.”

“Sawyer looks for the boar who peed on his shirt while Charlie comes to terms with taking a man’s life.”

“Hurley deals with the very real possibility he might be losing his sanity and spiraling into a deep depression while Locke makes Claire a birthday present.”

As legend goes (I mostly pieced this together from alt.tv.law-and-order or whatever the Usenet group exactly was)...

The original plan was Claire, indeed, survived but is left disabled and in a wheelchair.

In either season 7 or 8 (I feel like season 7), they had hoped to have Jill Hennessy guest star as a Claire the defense attorney.

Either the request never got to Jill Hennessy OR she had a scheduling conflict and couldn't, at which point Dick Wolf went, "Well, guess she's dead."

Now, when I started the show and watched reruns on A&E, I saw Carey Lowell's episodes first, before Claire's, and it'd be a bit before I ventured out to look up the history of the show. If you watch the season 7 premiere and then season 8's "Under the Influence," I don't see how it can be interpreted any other way than Claire died as a result of the car accident.

You might have some wiggle room with the season 7 premiere, but Jack's behavior in "Under the Influence" really reads as if he's angry that the person that killed Claire in that drunk-driving crash got like vehicular manslaughter (or equivalent) and didn't get a sentence of more than a couple of years. Why else go for a Murder 2 charge?

But again, all this is coming from memories some 25-27 years ago, so... who knows what is accurate.

Something I find amusing again and again as I fangirl about L&O episodes:

After "Aftershock," Claire isn't dead. She doesn't die until the season 9 episode "Sideshow."

Now, once you see that episode, it's clear that she's been dead for a while, probably since the car accident that ended season six.

But, we the audience don't have that knowledge, only that she's gone from the show (and I do wonder if the actors knew of Claire's fate before "Sideshow" or if they found out when we did). Even Jill Hennessy didn't know that was planned until a friend watched the show and told her.

So, between "Aftershock" and "Sideshow," Claire Kincaid exists in this limbo state, both alive and dead.

Dean Winchester collecting strays & offering comfort through physical touch

Today, the gang takes care of some last minute party prep. Sam puts out all the food that Dean had prepared, Jack cleans up the morning's breakfast, Cas rearranges some furniture to be more party friendly, and Dean finishes up some last minute decorations, putting up the mistletoe he'd saved in the doorway connecting the kitchen to the hall. At around 3:00 PM, people begin to filter in. First to arrive is Charlie, who was in town for a convention. Although they had adamantly told all of their guests that there would be plenty of food, Charlie brings some gingerbread anyways. As guests trickle in, Dean is silently counting heads, hoping the food he'd prepared is enough for everyone. Donna and Jody enter and immediately move to catch up with Sam and Dean. Claire, Alex, Kaia, and Patience all beeline for Jack, with whom they begin to gossip, comparing the drama they had picked up from their respective housemates. Rowena comes fashionably late, as always, with plenty of solstice decor to lend to the bunker for protection. After mingling, greeting close friends and lesser known friends of friends, a slightly overwhelmed Dean steps into the kitchen, taking some space to himself under the guise of washing dishes.

After a few minutes of scrubbing the same stubborn pan, he jumps at the unexpected presence of Cas, who has appeared at his side, silently drying and putting away dishes. After Dean has regained his social battery, he takes a deep breath and starts back out to the party, Cas following him. Dean grabs Cas's arm, realizing what doorway they've found themselves in. He looks up at the mistletoe, then back at Cas. Clearing his throat, Dean slides his hand from its position gripped on the angel's bicep down to his hand. He raises Cas's hand in his own, pressing his lips against it lightly. After a beat, he moves back a bit, mumbling something about superstition and tradition, only to be cut off by a kiss on the cheek from Cas, who softly asks Dean if he has participated in the tradition correctly. Dean stammers out an affirmative as they return to the party, where Dean recives a curious glance from Charlie from across the room.
