Today, Jack goes into the bunker's garage and draws some doodles in the dust that lingers atop some of the out-of-use classic cars. They draw a small stick figure family with themself, Cas, Sam, Dean, and Miracle.

Saw that post about old fandom discussion about the dog and need to share brainrot:

The reason Dean loves the hell out of that dog is because the dog is a stand in for his renewed hope that Castiel would come back.

Hear me out:

The dog shows up in Inherit The Earth after Chuck finds Dean, and Dean, hopeless, tells Chuck that he won and begs him to "put everything back the way it was. The people, the birds, Cas. You got to bring him back."

Note that Cas gets his own mention, and that he's awarded a very specific plea, whereas all their other friends are in "the people" category.

Chuck refuses, and Dean loses all hope. He's found sleeping on the floor drunk af.

Then they find the dog.

And, if the dog is alive, "maybe there's people (Chuck) missed". Dean doesn't mention Cas here but the stage has already been set, and we already know Castiel is above "the people, the birds" in Dean's priorities. Dean starts to feel hope again.

He calls the dog Miracle.

Which is funny, cus who is often paralleled miracles? The one who pulled Dean out of Hell? Emanuel, the miracle worker? Dean's Big Win? The angel who, by Chucks own words, manages to continuously defy God's plan??

Chuck once again tries to destroy all hope and Miracle vanishes. But it's too late. The damage is done. Dean has hope. And hope is the last thing to die.

When Lucifer calls and pretends to be Cas, Dean doesn't hesitate to run up and answer the door because, in his mind, he honestly believes it's Cas. Why wouldn't it be?

In Carry On Miracle is shown to be back and presumably lives with them up to the moment Dean dies and makes it to Heaven, where he finds out Cas is alive.

So in my mind Miracle is definitely a parallel to Dean's hope that Cas will be returned to him.

Someone I know pointed out it's weird Miracle didn't end up in Heaven in the finale.

It's a little crumb about how nothing changed in Heaven. Sure, the walls are down, but it's only welcoming human souls, which means it's still using them to harvest power.

All of my posts start with the word imagine because I like to think about things that hurt me... anyway, imagine how confused and frightened and abandoned Miracle must feel when Dean doesn't come back?? He doesn't understand the job and the risks, he doesn't understand that Dean wanted to come home to him, all he knows is that his person left and never came back. All he knows is that Sam came back but Sam came back different, halved, emptier and quieter and sad, because Dean left them

I have an announcement.

The story I am working on will mainly be the transformation into Dean & Castiel's Season 16 selves. Meaning starting from 15x19 to when the two Dean's switch places in the BTTF series. I've noticed the creativity keeps diverting there, so I'm just gonna follow right after it.

Also, I've begun the second half of the college calendar, so I won't really have the time to re-watch season 6 for plotline accuracies (which I value too much...).

Castiel came back and Dean took off. Coming back late at night, Dean's trying to figure out how to navigate what to do without anger being in the way.
