No one can make the day feel like a couple hours the way you do I know forever wouldn't give me enough time to spend with you.

Jack sighed as walked down the long hallway towards the hotel suite. The day began with him getting ready for the Givenchy show and immediately after the show he had to start rehearsing for his surprise performance at the Global Citizens concert that was scheduled for tomorrow. After he left rehearsals he went out to dinner with Taylor Rocks. He was exhausted, and ready to collapse into bed.

He finally reached the door, sliding the key card through the lock and stepped inside. Maryse was already in bed, tucked underneath the covers. She looked up and smiled as he entered the room, a sight that immediately lifted the weight off his shoulders.

“Long day, huh?” She said softly

Jack sighed, kicking off his shoes. “You have no idea, I feel like I’ve been on my feet for 24 hours straight.”

Maryse laughed, “That can’t be true. I’m sure you sat down at the fashion show.”

He grinned and pinched her side, making her squirm and giggle. “Okay, maybe I did sit down for a bit.”

After going to the bathroom to take a quick shower and change into his pajamas, Jack climbed into bed beside her, the mattress sinking comfortably under his weight. Maryse snuggled closer, resting her head on his chest. The familiar warmth of her body against his was the comfort he needed after a taxing day.

“I missed you today. We didn’t get to do any exploring,” she murmured.

“Yeah.” He agreed, wrapping his arm around her and kissing the top of her head. “I was looking forward to seeing the city with you.”

Maryse closed her eyes as Jack absentmindedly traced patterns on her arm, his mind wandering over the events of the day. Despite the fatigue, he was content in this quiet moment with her.

“How was dinner with Taylor and THE Halle Berry?” She asked, breaking the silence.

Jack smiled as he thought about how nice the evening was after a long busy day. “It was good. Taylor is always great company. And Halle Berry was so nice. You would’ve loved it.”

“I wish I could’ve gone,” she said wistfully. “But I’m glad you had a good time.”

“I missed you, though,” he admitted. “Next time, you’re definitely coming.”

They spent the next hour talking about their day before drifting off to sleep as they both had another busy day ahead of them.

The next morning Maryse wakes up to the smell of breakfast food filling the air. She reached out instinctively, expecting to find Jack beside her, but the space next to her was empty. Sitting up, she noticed a folded note on his pillow.

She picked up the note and unfolded it.

“Good morning, beautiful.

I wanted to do something special today because it’s the anniversary of our first kiss and the day we got together. (And no, those three months apart don’t count!) Enjoy your breakfast, and I’ll be back soon.

Love, Jack.”

Maryse could feel tears prickling at the corners of her eyes. Without a second thought, she grabbed her phone and dialed his number.

Jack picked up after a few rings, his voice warm as he spoke into the phone. “Good morning, sleepyhead.”

She smiled through her tears. “Good morning. I just read your note. You’re so sweet, you know that? And I didn’t forget about our anniversary.”

He chuckled softly. “It’s okay if you did. I know how busy we both are.”

“No, seriously,” she insisted. “I have a gift for you.”

“Oh really? Now I’m intrigued,” he replied, a hint of playful curiosity in his voice. “Did you like the breakfast?”

“I haven’t had it yet. I wanted to call you first. Thank you for this. It means a lot to me.”

“Anything for you,” he replied softly. “I know I won’t see you until the concert later but I just wanted to give you a little surprise to start your day.”

“You definitely did. I love you.”

“I love you too. Now go enjoy your breakfast, and I’ll see you later.”

Since Jack was a surprise performance he couldn’t watch Maryse perform from the crowd so he stood hidden backstage to watch her.

Standing there, he couldn’t help but reflect on how crazy the last year had been. The arguments and the moments of doubt, the breakup and the reconciliation. They had faced so many high and lows, professionally and personally, it felt like a lifetime had passed in just twelve months.

No one made him happier than Maryse Monet and as he watched her work the crowd he felt a surge of pride. Maryse had come so far, and he was grateful to be part of her journey. He then suddenly became very aware of the small box in his pocket, the longer it stayed in his pocket the heavier it felt.

Soon her set was over and the crowd erupted into applause. Maryse took a moment to catch her breath, her eyes scanning the backstage area where she knew he would be. She blew him a kiss, and Jack caught the kiss and placed it in the exact pocket with the small box.

As she exited the stage, he met her with open arms, pulling her into a tight embrace. “You were incredible,” he whispered into her ear.

She smiled, her eyes sparkling with happiness. “Thank you. I saw you watching me.”

“Always,” he replied, kissing her forehead. “I was just thinking about how crazy this last year has been. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

“Me neither,” she said softly, resting her head against his chest. “We’ve been through a lot, but we’re here, and that’s all that matters.”

They shared a kiss before deciding that after Jack’s performance they would return back to their hotel. Both eager to exchange gifts in the comfort of their matching pajamas (that Maryse insisted that they wore.) At first they were going to get dinner but quickly changed their mind when they realized they didn’t want to be around people or a crowd so they decided to just order room service.

Sitting on the plush sofa, Maryse handed him a small wrapped box, bouncing in excitement.

“What’s this?” he asked, taking the box from her hands.

“Just open it,” she urged, biting her lip as she watched him carefully unwrap the gift.

Inside the box was a custom-made Rolex watch. The sleek design was classic and elegant, with an engraving on the back that read. “loving you for a long time.” With the date they actually met. He looked at it in surprise, turning it over in his hands to read the inscription.

“I know you’re not big on jewelry outside of your Kentucky chains,” Maryse began to ramble, “but I thought this might be something you’d like. It’s special, like you, and it commemorates the day we met, which—”

Jack cut her off with a kiss, deep and passionate, silencing her nervous chatter. When they finally broke apart, he rested his forehead against hers.

“It’s perfect,” he said softly, his voice filled with emotion. “Thank you.”

She smiled, relieved and happy. “I’m glad you like it. I wanted to give you something that would always remind you of us.”

He fastened the watch around his wrist, admiring it. “I love it. And I love you.” Maryse reached for his arm. She pressed a soft kiss on his wrist, right where the watch sat.

“So, what did you get me?” She asked him, not seeing a gift near him.

“Nothing.” Jack said with a smirk to hide his nervousness but it was quickly wiped off his face when she kicked him slightly with her cold feet.

“Ow! I was just joking.”

“Shut up, that did not hurt!”

Jack huffed and the nervousness settled in again. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box. He held it out to her, a nervous but determined look in his eyes.

She looked at the box, then back at him, her eyes wide with surprise. “Jack?”

He opened the box to reveal a beautiful, delicate ring. A sparkling ruby, her birthstone, set in the center. Her breath caught in her throat as she stared at it, and for a moment, she was speechless.

“It’s a promise ring,” he explained quickly, sensing her shock. “I know it’s not an engagement ring, but I wanted to give you something that symbolizes how serious I am about us. I don’t want to be with anyone else but you. Our time apart really made me realize that. I want us to keep building our future together.”

He started to ramble, “I mean, I know we’ve only been back together for a while, but I’ve never felt this way about anyone, and I just… I love you so much, The ruby represents you, and the ring symbolizes my promise to be with you, no matter what.”

Maryse smiled, tears welling up in her eyes. “You know, if this was an engagement ring, I don’t think I would’ve said no.”

He laughed softly, relieved and touched before slipping the ring on her finger. “One step at a time,” he said, leaning in to kiss her again. “But I promise, one day.”

She looked at the ring, her fingers tracing the ruby set within it. “I’m never going to take this off,” she whispered, her voice filled with emotion.

He smiled, lifting her hand to his lips and pressing a kiss to her knuckles. “Good,” he said softly. “Because I never want you to.”

Maryse's heart felt so full as she looked into Jack’s eyes. “I love you,” she said, her voice steady and sure.

“I love you too,” he replied, pulling her closer. “Forever.”

He pulled her up from the sofa and kissed her deeply, the warmth of his lips igniting a familiar spark between them. “Now,” he murmured against her lips, “let’s celebrate our anniversary with fewer clothes.”

She laughed softly, her heart racing. The playful glint that Jack loves so much crossed her eyes. “You’re such a horn dog.” Her words, not matching her actions as her hands move to tug at his shirt.

Jack chuckled, pressing another kiss to her lips. “Only for you,” he replied, his voice low as he climbed on top of her as she flopped down on the mattress.

After spending an extra day in Paris they were finally back home in Kentucky. Maryse was in the final stages of her album so she decided to celebrate by having a self care day while Jack was out playing indoor soccer. They would be traveling to Vegas next week and she needed new clothes. As she was getting ready to leave she FaceTimed Jack letting him know where she was if he returned home while she was out.

“Hey, I’m heading out to the outlets to pick up a few things,” she told him while slipping on her shoes.

Jack whipped the sweat off his forehead as paused for a moment. “Maybe you should take some security with you. Especially with how much paparazzi have been hackling you. Just to be safe.”

The last couple of weeks had been particularly intense. While she was in California, paparazzi had followed her everywhere she went. The constant attention was exhausting. But she was just going to the mall, so there was no point in bringing security.

Maryse shook her head slightly. “I’ll be fine. It’s just a quick shopping trip. I’ll be back home soon.”

Jack sighed, knowing there was no point in arguing. Maryse was fiercely independent, and once she made up her mind, it was nearly impossible to change it. “Alright, but please be careful.”

“Always,” she promised before hanging up.

It was nice to have some time to herself, even if it was just for a little while. She loved her life and her relationship, but moments like these, where she could just be alone with her thoughts and enjoy a bit of normalcy, were precious. That was one of her favorite things about living in Kentucky now, most people treated her like she was normal, not a celebrity. Here, she was just another person living her life.

As she was leaving the mall and heading towards her car, she felt a sense of relief. It had been a pleasant outing, and she was looking forward to getting home and showing Jack the new outfits.

Maryse hopped into the driver seat after putting her bags in the backseat. As she was getting herself together, a sudden knock on the window startled her. She let out a small scream, her heart racing as she turned to see who it was.

A fan stood there, looking excited but not apologetic. She rolled down the window slightly, trying to regain her composure.

“Can I get a hug and a photo?” the fan asked, their voice eager and insistent.

Despite her initial fright, she didn’t want to disappoint anyone. She nodded, she stepped out of the car, keeping her keys in her hand. “Sure, but please be quick,” she said, trying to keep her tone friendly.

The fan moved in for a hug, wrapping their arms around her tightly. It was much tighter than she was comfortable with, and the hug lingered a bit too long.

She felt a sense of unease creeping up her spine as the fan clung to her, almost as if they didn’t want to let go. She gently pulled back, offering a nervous smile as she posed for the selfie.

“You’re welcome,” she replied, her voice slightly strained as she quickly got back into her car. She locked the doors immediately and took a deep breath, trying to shake off the unsettling feeling.

As Maryse was rolling up her window and preparing to drive away, the fan knocked on the window again, this time pointing to her hand. “Nice ring.” they commented their tone carrying an edge that made her uncomfortable.

She quickly hid her hand, forcing a smile. “Thanks. Well, I have to go now. Have a nice day!” she said, her voice wavering slightly.

The fan nodded, stepping back as Maryse drove away. The sense of contentment she felt earlier was now overshadowed by the fan encounter. She couldn’t help but think about Jack's words from this morning. Maybe he was right; maybe she did need to be more careful, even in places where she felt safe.

When she got home, she decided not to mention what happened. She didn’t want to hear him say, “I told you so,” and she didn’t want to worry him unnecessarily. So, she kept it to herself, putting on a bright smile as she walked into their home.

“Hey, babe,” she called out, setting her bags down. “I’m back!”

He walked over, giving her a kiss on the lips “How was shopping?”

“It was good,” she replied, her smile never wavering. “Got a few things for our trip to Vegas.”

“Are you gonna give me a show with those new outfits?” he asked, his voice low and teasing.

She looked up at him, “Maybe,” she replied, biting her lip as she pulled away from his kiss, leaving him wanting more.

“Come on,” he coaxed, wrapping his arms around her waist. “Just a little preview?”

She laughed softly, shaking her head. “You’ll have to be patient,” she said, enjoying the way his eyes darkened.

He groaned in mock frustration, leaning in to steal another kiss. “You’re such a tease,” he murmured against her lips.

“And you love it,” she shot back, giving him a quick peck before slipping out of his grasp and heading towards their bedroom. “Now, how about you help me put these away?”

Jack immediately followed her down the hallway and as they spent the evening together, Maryse tried to push the unsettling fan out of her mind, instead focusing on how safe she felt with Jack around her.

Wandering Romance

It was no secret Jack and Urban didn’t like Y/N’s boyfriend Jesse Connor, the newest upcoming actor. She met him while attending at Longchamp NYFW Show. Both of you were sitting on the front row next to each other, and immediately hit it off. Then two months later, they went public for the first time while attending together to the Oscars, where he was being nominated for various categories. And the rest was history. 

When Urban and Jack being one of your closest friends, it was very important for you to have their approval. 

Jack was torn and almost shocked, given that just a few weeks before he had come to terms that he was in love with you. Which is why he made sure to not cross than boundary between the two of you and just be there whenever you needed him as a friend and If there was every the chance for the two of you become more than that, he would be happy about it.  

Urban, on the other hand, could tell something was off about Jesse, but he couldn’t wrap his head around what exactly it was. He just didn’t seem genuine…..like there was more to what he was actually showing.

One night, Jack and Urban happen to enter the same restaurant, Y/N and Jesse were at having a date. They went over to pick up an order when, Urban spotted you sitting in a table with your boyfriend sitting at the other side. He could only see Jesse’s back but, when he saw Y/N he realized she was upset. 

Urban gave Jack a look and as he followed his gaze, he spotted Y/N. 

Clearly something was wrong, and they walked over to you just to make sure you were ok. 

When Y/N’s gaze met Jack, her eyes light up and looked somewhat helpless.

“Y/N are you ok?” he put his hand on her shoulder and realized she was shaking. 

Jesse laughed it off. 

“She’s fine. It was great to see you guys, but we are kind of in the middle of something” 

“I was talking to Y/N” 

In that moment, Y/N slowly looked up at Jack and Urban, and they could see her eyes were red from crying and she was visibly shaken. 

Jesse stood up his seat and stood in front of Jack in a failed attempt to intimidate him, as Jack was evidently towering him. 

“I think you guys should leave” he said. 

“I’m not leaving until I know for sure she’s ok”

“Fine, we’re leaving then” he said and before Y/n could process it, he yanked her arm and she winced in pain and looked back at him. 

Urban then pushed him away and Jesse immediately turned to them looking angry. 

He then attempted to punch Urban in the face, but he dodged the punch. Then Jack swiftly punched him in the face. When he turned to look at Y/N, she was almost hiding behind Jack looking terrified. 

By then, Jesse realized he had drawn too much attention to himself, as everyone was with their phones out recording the whole thing. 

“Stupid bitch” he muttered to himself, but loud enough for Urban, Jack and Y/N to hear him. 

Urban was about to go after him again, but Jack stopped him. 

Jack turned to Y/N.

“Are you ok?”

She Y/N was still shaking but nodded in response.

“Um…I need to use the restroom…is that ok?”

Jack was surprised by her comment.

“Yeah, go ahead”

After waiting for her to come out, they left the restaurant and walked to the car.

When they entered the car in silence Jack turned to her. 

“I know you probably don’t feel like talking right now, but…I was just curious…..why did you asked for my permission to use the restroom?”

Y/N hesitated for a moment. 

She looked down in embarrassment. 

“I needed to go and Jesse wouldn’t let me because….then everyone would think he’s a jerk”

Jack could feel his jaw clench as he became annoyed and almost angry.

She turned to look at him with apologetic eyes “I’m sorry for making a scene”

“You have nothing to apologize for” he said reaching out for her hand. “I’m sorry I didn’t saw the signs earlier but I’m here now”

She silently nodded and looked out on the window. 

When they arrived at her driveway, Y/N remained frozen. 

“We are here” Jack announced

Y/N snapped out of it and looked at her apartment and then back at Jack.

“I- I can’t” Y/N managed to blurt out despite the lump in her throat. 

“Hey, hey its ok” he softly said. “There’s no need to be scared” 

Then she turned to Jack looking almost embarrassed. 

“What’s on your mind?” he softly asked. 

“I just…don’t wanna be alone” she said in a whisper.

“That’s fine. Would you like to stay over at my place?”

She nodded in response. 

“Alright” he smiled at her. 

After he walked her inside, she packed some clothes, and they went back to the car and drove off to Jack’s place. 

Sometime past midnight, she woke up in a cold sweat as panic took over her as she recalled the past events that lead to the events from last night. Her throat was dry and for a few seconds she almost thought she was going to die. But after two minutes, she realized she was just having a panic attack. When the silence filling the room became too unbearable, she walked over to Jack’s bedroom and knocked on the door. 

On the other side of the room, Jack who was mindlessly scrolling through his phone, heard the knock on the door, and thinking something happened, he put his phone down and walked to the door. 

“Hey, are you ok?”

“Yeah” In that moment Y/N processed what she was just doing and guilt took over her. “I’m so sorry. I probably woke you. I-”

“It’s ok. I was just scrolling through my phone” 

“I wanted to thank you. For standing up to me” 

“That’s alright” he paused. “You deserve so much more and hate to think that someone ever made you feel small and hurt you. You deserve all the good in this world” 

Before she could process her actions, she found herself leaning over to Jack and kissing him. 

Jack for less than 5 seconds found himself kissing her back until he pulled away. 

Y/N looked away in embarrassment. 

“I’m so sorry. I should’ve have done that-“

“-It’s ok” 

She put her hands in her face. 

“Gosh, this is so embarrassing” 

He gently pulled her hands away from her face and held both of her hands as he looked into her eyes. 

“It’s ok, really. You don’t know how much I’ve been waiting to kiss you” he smiled at her. “But you’re in a very vulnerable position and I don’t want to take advantage of that” 

She nodded. 

"Why do I feel like you're slipping through my hands?" she looked down.

He pulled her close to his chest and hugged her.

"Im not going anywhere, promise" he kissed the top of her head.

With that being said, Y/N and Jack remined as friends, maybe even closer than friends, but never to the point of crossing that boundary as to become lovers. Because the truth was that, Jack knew that she needed to heal before jumping into another relationship. And Jack loved her and care too much for her that he was willing to wait for her until she’s ready; and if that never happened, he would be remain by her side and be there whenever she needed him. 

The next morning, a blind item from deuxmoi broke the story. Fans were quick to speculate it was about Y/N and Jesse after the two stopped following one another in all social media platforms. 

TMZ then released a video of the that night, where Jesse is seen angry at Y/N as he talk down on her while she looked down while crying. Then the video cuts off to when Jack enters the restaurant with Urban. 

And a lot of fans commented on the video expressing their shock.

"If he was acting like this in public I cant imagine what he's like in closed doors"

"I heard Jack Harlow beat his ass. Mad respect for him"

"this is sickening"

In response, Jesse tweeted then deleted, a cryptic tweet.

That’s when #jesseconnorisoverparty started trending all over twitter and fans and fellow celebrities were quick to show their support for Y/N.

cameras started rolling. you were holding a set of cards while opening up the given laptop to talk to jack on screen. right now, you were going to ask some questions to jack, who was going to be in front of your screen. it really wasn’t face to face like they said, but rather screen to screen.

you introduced yourself, “hi gq, i’m y/n l/n, and today i’ll be asking one of my biggest fans a series of questions.”

meanwhile, jack got all giggly, excited to answer the questions that his girlfriend provided. he pretends to pick up the phone, “what’s up [nickname]?”

“hello mister harlow!” you chuckled at both jokes.

jack began conversation by asking the basic, “how are you doing today?”

“i’m doing great, what about you?”

“if you’re feeling great, then i’m feeling great also.”

you switched the conversation by bringing the main topic of the video, “good. okay, so i got to ask you some questions.”

“got it.”

☆ FIRST QUESTION - “WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CURSE WORD?”

“probably fuck.” jack giggled at his answer, which later spread onto you. his answer reminded you of that clip featuring miranda cosgrove. although the clip was recorded, the editors had to bleep out the word due to monetization reasons. it sounded a bit more silly in the final version.

you pretended to be shocked by his answer, “i was about to say the same thing,” you explained, “there’s just so much emotion just by using those four letters.”

jack nods in agreement, “right. like you could accidentally spill a glass of milk and be like fuck.”

☆ SECOND QUESTION - “WHAT’S THE HARDEST PART ABOUT WORKING WITH ME?”

jack had his hand resting on his chin, smirking. “resting with the best.”

you sarcastically rolled your eyes at jack. “baby, we’re talking self-care here!”

“my self-care routine consists of taking a bath, taking care of my hair, taking care my skin, making sure that i’m looking clean.” jack showed his clear and fresh manicure. “also getting a fresh trim and manicure if i can.”

you awed at him. “the manicure part was my idea, by the way.”

you were already thinking about his answer, and it caused jack to laugh. you obviously had to joke about it. “let me guess, condoms?”

surprisingly, jack shook his head. he truthfully answers, “surprisingly, not this time. the last purchase under 20 was a set of tank tops. i believe they were 15 bucks.”

you scoffed, “yeah right.”

“you know what?” jack paused and remembered his last purchase. “forget about the tank tops. my last purchase under 20 dollars were a party sized bag of doritos.”

you got closer to the camera, pretending to hold a private conversation, “doritos, please don’t cut ties with us.”

☆ FIFTH QUESTION - “WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE OUTFIT OF MINE?”

“my favorite outfit of yours?” jack repeated the question. he started to think of the many outfits that you wore over the years. he had plenty of them in mind but for today, he could only say one.

“i’m going with the red carpet look from cannes film festival.”

you wore a schiaparelli dress, and the accessories is what brought jack’s attention. you were surprised by jack’s response. you could’ve thought of another look, but it was a fan favorite after all. “the one from last year?” you asked jack.

“yeah, i liked it,” jack smiled, “what’s wrong?”

you shook your head, “oh nothing. i’m just surprised that you picked that one out of all my other looks.”

“well, i had a list of favorites, but i thought i only had to go with one, so i chose the schiaparelli look.”

“say, you got a list?” you placed your hands on your chin, striking the beth harmon pose, “tell me.”

jack lightly chuckled and began listing his favorite looks of yours. “okay-”

you reacted shockingly, “damn, you really listed an entire catalog of mine!”

“it’s the stylist’s fault for picking the good ones for you.”

☆ SIXTH QUESTION - “WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SHOW TO BINGE?”

jack started reminiscing about the shows he used to binge, “i watch a lot of tv, and y/n knows that i’m inconsistent when it comes to these series.”

you agreed, “right. do you have a favorite, however?”

jack removed the toothpick from his mouth, “right now, i have to go with entourage on hbo.”

you smacked your lips, “there’s something about hbo series that seem more enjoyable than other services.”

☆ SEVENTH QUESTION - “WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO FILM?”

“there’s a lot of options when it comes to film, but right now, probably brokeback mountain.”

you were in the film industry, so you were aware of a lot of films. prior to acting, you were a film fanatic, going to the theaters during release day whenever you had a chance.

of course, you had your influences growing up. one of your inspirations growing up was the cast of brokeback mountain, which included heath ledger, jake gyllenhaal, and anne hathaway.

“i have a fun fact about brokeback mountain,” you began giving a backstory, “it was one of the first movies that got me into acting.”

the words that came out of your mouth made jack fall for you even more. he didn’t know about this piece of knowledge until now. he starts telling how you mean so much to him to the people the film crew that were in the background. “when i say this girl is my dream girl, she is my dream girl.”

☆ EIGHTH QUESTION - “WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FILM BY ME?”

“on the topic of films,” you picked up the card with the question on it, “what is your favorite film starring me?”

“starring you…” jack repeated that phrase, blanking out in front of you as he sets all of your filmography in his head.

since you were a critic’s darling, jack had some favorite films in mind. “i loved your performance in knives out and bones and all. oh, and the recent puss in boots movie? our future kids is going to love it!”

you laughed at his heart warming comment. “gee, i hope so…”

☆ NINTH QUESTION - “WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE ME FOR A DAY?”

jack rubbed his hands. “this is a tough one.”

he goes, “all of a sudden, i’m y/n l/n for a day. for a day off, i would probably pick up a camera and film a sweet little video featuring my sweet boyfriend.”

it was very thoughtful of him to bring up your passion of filming. since you were a busy woman, you felt like there was little time for you to pick up an extra hobby. sure, you might play the piano or be on the studios with jack on another day, but having time for something else wasn’t on your schedule.

“any extra details you want to add, y/n?”

“the setting takes place in our kitchen, keeping it cozy there.”

you hummed, “very.”

he mentions one last detail. “oh, and my sweet boyfriend is making food.”

your face changed from being relaxed to you laughing, knowing jack’s cooking skills. “and that’s where i end the video.”

☆ TENTH QUESTION - “WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO EVERYONE RIGHT NOW?”

jack made a frowning face. “what kind of advice? relationship? career?”

you picked up the card again, reading every single detail of that question. “it doesn’t specify what kind of advice, so i assume any.”

“i have this one advice that came from my dad,” jack quotes, “every decision can alter your whole life path, so it’s crucial you make good ones.”

“well said,” you tell jack, “everyone in here, take notes.”

the tenth question of the interview was already answered, marking the end of the video. the directors yelled “cut” from both rooms, but you two had to stay for one last message.

jack starts, “if y’all want to see the other way around, go to vogue.com to see me ask y/n these questions face to face.”

“thank you to gq for being involved in this conversation between jack and i. thank you for watching!” you blew a kiss in front of the camera. the video cues to a white screen, placing the names of the people involved.

the cameras got everything, so you two were free to leave the studio. before you left the room, you talked to jack on the laptop five minutes after the interview ended.

“what do you want to do after we finish the interview for vogue?”

“you want to have a commentary on brokeback mountain?”

Pairing: Jack Harlow x Singer!Reader

Summary: Jack and his girlfriend are on tour and Wyatt is documenting all their backstage moments on tour. Fans even help him out by capturing a secret moment between them after a show.

The tour was in full swing, and as expected, Jack and [Y/N] were a constant source of entertainment—both on stage and off. Wyatt, being the content mastermind he was, put together a behind-the-scenes montage for the tour vlog, giving fans an inside look at their dynamic.

Backstage Footage: Jack hyping her up before she went on stage. “Go out there and do that ethereal, angelic, heartbreak-inducing magic you do.”

Hotel Room Chaos: Jack stealing her microphone during rehearsal and dramatically lip-syncing one of her ballads, complete with fake tears.

Soundcheck Playfulness: Him walking past her soundcheck, pausing dramatically as she hit a high note, then turning to the camera like he was in awe. “You see this? I gotta go on stage after this. How is that fair?”

Side Stage Moments: Jack watching her perform from the wings, nodding along with a proud smirk.

Fame. It was a blessing and a curse, bringing both adoration and scrutiny. The allure of the spotlight drew people in, but the constant invasion of privacy weighed heavily on those who experienced it.

You never wanted to be famous, with everyone watching your every move and judging your every decision. The pressure to maintain a perfect image becomes suffocating, leaving no room for mistakes or personal growth. It seemed like too much.

Your friends, on the other hand, envied the idea of fame. They saw it as a gateway to success, wealth, and recognition, and hell, it was.

The difference between Jack's and your bank accounts was big.

Jack Harlow, a rising rap artist, seemed to have it all. Jack Harlow, the same guy you used to hang out with and freestyle with in your basement, was now selling out arenas and topping the charts.

Jack Harlow, the same guy who would visit New York just to hang out with you, his best friend.

You'd know Jack since he was just starting out in the music industry. You had witnessed his journey from recording songs in his bedroom to signing a major record deal.

You were proud of him, he was truly like a brother to you, and seeing his success brought you immense joy. Despite his fame, Jack remained humble and always made time for the people who had supported him from the beginning.

Which is why he decided to drag you to a party in downtown Brooklyn, a place he hoped you would enjoy. The party was filled with talented musicians and industry professionals, nearly everyone there had some connection to the music industry.

You follow Jack as he maneuvers through the crowd, making his way to the DJ booth. You watch him dap up the DJ before he introduces you to him. "This is Zack Bia, his shit is fire. I swear to you." Jack says, leaning closer to you so you can hear him over the music.

Zack daps you up, giving you a warm smile before turning back to his DJ set. Zack leans into Jack's ear, whispering something that makes Jack quickly nod his head, you can slightly mouth the words "Oh yeah."

Zack presses a button on his DJ controller, and the music transitions seamlessly into Jack's song, Dua Lipa. He then hands him a mic, and Jack grabs it eagerly, ready to perform.

As the beat drops, Jack's voice fills the room, captivating everyone with his smooth delivery and undeniable stage presence. The crowd goes wild, their energy fueling Jack's performance as he effortlessly commands the small stage.

You find yourself nodding your head to the beat, unable to resist the infectious rhythm. The music pulsates through your body, making it impossible to stand still. Jack puts an arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer to him as you take a sip from your glass.

"Do the next part," Jack whispers in your ear, moving the microphone away from his lips. You laugh a bit, shaking your head. "Nah, man." Jack smiles, "C'mon."

He doesn't give you time to process your response before he moves the microphone to your mouth and starts singing the next verse. Caught off guard, you stumble over the lyrics for a moment before finding your voice and joining in.

Jack starts jumping up and down, his energy contagious as he encourages the crowd to sing along. "So, what's up?" Jack shouts into the microphone, moving it away from you.

You leave the stage, needing a drink and fresh air after being put on the spot like that. When you arrive at the bar, you see a brunette girl sitting by herself, her head down, as she types away on her phone.

You twist your lips, would she mind if you took a seat next to her?

The bartender looks up from cleaning a glass and nods at you, indicating that you can take a seat. When you settle down, you catch a glimpse of the girl's screen, noticing that she's scrolling through social media.

"What can I get you?" the bartender asks, breaking your focus. You quickly glance at the menu and order a shot of tequila.

You can feel it. Her eyes stare at your side profile, but you pretend not to notice and play with the rings on your fingers. What would you say to her if you mustered up the courage to strike up a conversation?

Moments later, the bartender returns with your shot of tequila, accidentally knocking over the girl's drink and proceeding to drop your shot on the table. "Shit! I am so sorry."

You chuckle and reassure the bartender that it's alright, searching for a napkin. "Do you have a napkin?" You ask the bartender, glancing at the wet stain on your jeans.

The bartender searches underneath the counter, unable to find a napkin. "I'm really sorry, but I don't have any napkins at the moment. There might be some in the bathroom upstairs."

You glance at the brunette, who is now wiping her drink off her dress with her hands. "I could also grab you a napkin too, if you'd like."

For the first time, she looks at you, and your stomach does backflips.

"I could come with." She smiles, her brown doe eyes staring into yours. Her smile is warm and inviting, making your heart race even faster. "That would be great," you say, trying to hide your excitement.

You both make your way up the stairs, squeezing past other people who are heading downstairs. As you reach the top, you notice a sign pointing towards the bathroom. The brunette leads the way, gracefully navigating through the crowd.

Huh. This place used to be a studio, you think to yourself, admiring the high ceilings and large windows. You walk into the bathroom with her, turning on the light to reveal a clean and modern design.

The marble countertops and sleek fixtures give the space an elegant touch. You can't help but feel a sense of relief knowing that you won't have to endure a grimy restroom experience tonight.

The brown-eyed girl lets out a huff, searching the bottom compartment for napkins. "Well, I didn't find any napkins, but..." she says, pulling out a blowdryer. "We can use this."

You laugh, impressed by her resourcefulness. "That's definitely a creative solution," you say, admiring her ability to think outside the box. "Who needs napkins when we have a blowdryer?" you joke, helping her plug in the blowdryer.

You sit on the countertop, waiting for the blow dryer to warm up. "I'm Y/N, by the way." The brown-eyed girl smiles and extends her free hand. "Nice to meet you, Y/N. I'm Olivia," she introduces herself, grateful for the unexpected company in this situation.

You shake hands, and you can't help but feel that this encounter might turn into an interesting and memorable experience.

Olivia raises the blowdryer on the wet spot on your jeans, causing you to jump a bit in surprise. "Sorry about that," she apologizes, her cheeks turning slightly pink.

"You're good, it's just a bit hot."

You smile as you watch her swing the blow dryer back and forth, blowing warm air onto your damp jeans. Olivia looks back at you with a small smile on her lips.

"Did you get dragged here too? Or did you come willingly?" You ask, trying to make conversation.

"A bit of both, you?"

You chuckle softly, your eyes glancing around the room. "Well, I guess you could say I was persuaded to come," you admit with a playful tone. "But I'm actually glad I did. It's been a while since I've hung around Jack...I missed him."

Olivia nods understandingly, her smile widening. "Jack, like Jack Harlow?" You nod in response, confirming her guess. "Yeah, that's the one. We used to be attached at the hip back in high school, but life got busy and we drifted apart. It's nice to reconnect and catch up."

"Do you make music too?" Olivia asks, curious. You shake your head, chuckling softly. "No, not like Jack. I'm more of a listener than a creator when it comes to music. But I've always admired his talent and passion for it."

"You make music, though, right?" You ask and Olivia nods, smiling. "Yes, I do. It's been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I like being able to express myself through music and connect with others who kind of relate. It's a form of therapy for me, a way to escape and let my emotions flow freely."

You hum, "I completely understand what you mean. Music has a way of speaking rather than using words." Olivia's smile widens, and she nods in agreement. "Exactly! I honestly can't imagine my life without music."

A comfortable silence settles between the two of you. Another one of Jack's songs begins to play, so loudly that you can faintly hear it all the way up here.

"Want me to dry your dress?" You break the silence, softly taking the blow dryer from her hands. "Oh! Uh, sure, thank you." You smile, hopping off the counter. "You wanna sit? I can help you up."

"Thank you, yeah..." You place the blowdryer down, gently placing your hands on her waist, before lifting her onto the counter. She settles down, her eyes never leaving yours.

"I've always wanted to play an instrument." You confess, doing the same motions with the blowdryer on her dress. "Really? Which one?" she asks, biting down on her lips, her eyes still on you.

You pause for a moment, contemplating your answer. "I think I've always been drawn to the guitar," you finally reply, meeting her eyes.

"Acoustic or electric?" she asks, a small smile forming on her lips. "Acoustic for sure. But I can't sing for shit, so no one-man band for me," you chuckle, causing her smile to widen.

"Well, who needs vocals when you can make the guitar sing?" she teases playfully, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"What do you do, if you don't mind me asking?" Olivia inquires, her curiosity evident in her tone. "I'm a real estate agent, believe it or not."

"It's not as glamorous as being a musician, but it pays the bills," you say with a shrug. Olivia nods understandingly, her smile still present. "Do you wear a suit to work?" she asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Sometimes," you reply with a smirk. "But most days, I prefer a more casual and comfortable look. I can't distract my clients with how good I look in a suit, you know?"

Olivia laughs and leans in, placing a hand on your forearm. "So, what's the most interesting property you've ever sold?" she asks.

"Well," you begin, "I once sold a mansion to Central Cee, you know, the UK rapper? He had some specific requests for the interior design, including a home studio and a custom-built gaming room. It was definitely a unique and exciting project to work on," you explain, reminiscing about the experience.

Olivia's eyes widen with intrigue as she listens attentively. "Is he the most famous client you've ever had?"

"Actually, no. I didn't directly sell a house to Drake, but I did have the opportunity to assist in finding him a property. And this was a while ago, maybe when he dropped that one Keke song."

Olivia's eyebrows shoot up in surprise. "Wow, why is that actually kind of cool?' You chuckle, turning off the blowdryer and setting it down on the counter. "Well, it was definitely a unique experience. It's not every day you get to work with someone as well-known as Drake."

Olivia nods. "I can only imagine what it must have been like. Did you get to meet him in person?"  

You smile and reply, "Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to meet him face-to-face. However, I did communicate with his team throughout the process and ensure that his preferences and requirements were met."

You let out a sigh, saying, "If you ever need to find property in the future, let me know." Olivia smiles, nodding her head. "Of course, I wouldn't want anyone else. I don't think all real estate agents help their future clients dry off their dresses when the bartender spills a drink on them." She chuckles, patting her dress to see if it was dry.

"I guess that's just one of the many perks of having a dedicated real estate agent like me," you reply with a wink. Olivia opens her mouth to speak, but knocking on the door interrupts her.

"You guys done in there? We've been waiting for ages!" a voice calls from outside. Olivia and you exchange amused glances before you reply, "Just a moment! We'll be right out."

"Here, I'll help you down." You stand in between Olivia's legs, placing your hands on her waist to support her as she steps down from the countertop.

Olivia's face flushes slightly as she looks up at you, grateful for your assistance. "Thank you," she says softly, moving a hair strand out of her face.

You smile at Olivia and give her a reassuring nod. "No problem at all," you respond, feeling a warm connection between the two of you. You can't help but notice how her hand lingers on your arm for a brief moment before she lets go.

You begin walking towards the door, opening it for Olivia to exit first. A messy-haired boy quickly rushes past the two of you, "Sorry, I have to shit!" he exclaims, nearly knocking Olivia over.

She stumbles slightly but regains her balance with your support. You exchange a knowing glance with Olivia, bursting into laughter at the unexpected interruption.

As the laughter subsides, Olivia thanks you for catching her and playfully nudges your arm. "It was nice meeting you, Olivia." You say, returning the playful nudge.

You give her one last glance before walking towards the flight of stairs. "Wait!" Olivia calls out, causing you to turn around. "Can I have your number? I'd love to keep in touch," Olivia asks, a hint of nervousness in her voice. You smile and reach for your phone, exchanging numbers with her.

Olivia pulls you into a hug, surprising you. You hesitate before returning the hug, wrapping your arm tightly around her waist. You pull away, your hands slightly lingering on her waist. "Don't be a stranger," you say, giving her a warm smile. Olivia returns the smile, nodding.

With a final wave, you turn and continue down the stairs, already looking forward to the next time you'll see each other.
