Yeah of course! Here’s a little comic that would take place just after gai gets an official post in the uchiha clan:

If your wondering what post he gets, he gets put in charge of training a selection of clan members that have yet to awaken their sharingan how to activate the gates, madara has a theory that releasing the limiters on the body’s of these soldiers may help to manually activate their sharingan or even allow them to temporarily manifest a mangekyou sharingan.

Kawarama and Itama experience different side effects of coming back wrong, probably related to the amount of times they've been brought back— 3 for Itama ans 2 times for Kawarama. Itama has the most visible signs of it, while Kawarama seems the most fine (but is arguably affected even more heavily, just in the opposite direction)

If the pattern of death and revival were to continue, only bad things would follow. As is, the fact that they're well as put together as they are is kind of a minor miracle.

There's also probably some weird shit happening to their personalities / mental states, but I haven't thought too much ab it yet and it's nothing that can't be explained away by them just being a bit weird

My goal for this piece, in addition to playing with patterns and textures and adding some Naruto references, was to add as many death flags as possible.

The idea of having Izuna in a fireman's coat is obviously not from me. I've always like the idea of Uchihas in fire resistant clothes, and the opportunity for a thick texture alongside a reversible double pattern is very appealing. I used the image of the second reference as a base, with skulls on one side and stylized lightning patterns on the other (visible inside the sleeves and collar). Both were common immagery of firemen coats.

The actual skull pattern is taken from the third reference. I'd seen this one before and before even learning anything abt it it was too beautiful to pass up. Those white and navy gradients are absolutely delightful and I enjoyed using my gel pens for them very much.... This particular type of imagery with skulls and bones in a field is called Nozarashi, inspired by Buddhist representation of death and transience.

The lightning pattern itself is a reference to water and lightning dragons :) Like Tobirama's iconic jutsu, it's one of the hints of what's abt to happen to our little guy. The scabbard is also decorated with dragon motifs for the same reason.

The background pattern is taken from the first reference, another fireman's coat with an illustration of Raijin, the thunder god. He is often representated with drums decorated with tomoes. It works nicely as a standard looking sharingan illustration, with a reference to Tobirama's hiraishingiris with the thunder imagery, like the thunder patterns inside the coat.

If you're interested in this I recommend the book linked in the second reference! It is entirely about skeleton motifs in japanese clothing of the early 20th century.

hc that the uchiha can create a fire warm enough to heat themselves up or dry themselves off, but the caveat is that creates a visible fire and appears as if the user is actually on fire, so they don't do it often

izuna, however, is a little shit and he would use that jutsu to every advantage he can. because think about a young izuna in battle when it's raining or something and his opponents are like what the fuck that uchiha kid just set himself on fire

maybe he'd use it on others, too, just those close to him like madara or other uchiha. madara is used to being in a meeting and knowing izuna is near because he's suddenly a lot warmer than before and the other clan heads are screaming in shock. he just sighs

but imagine izuna and tobirama are on a mission together, after the village is formed, and they end up in the cold. and izuna offers to use his warming jutsu to help tobirama heat up. imagine the shock of tobirama suddenly seeing flames dancing around his body without actually feeling burnt. he would need to know that jutsu more than he has needed anything ever

Wherein as a high caliber Sensor, Tobirama developed the ability to pinpoint out people who became psychopathic when it comes to their romantic partner/prospect.

Tobirama had first realized that something had been added to his Sensing ability.

And it all started with his Mother. Back then when all is well and good, he recalled he was only five years old when he felt the first time the spine tingling terror that shot through him when his Mother blankly stared at a civilian woman who dared to be friendly with his Father.

Mother and Father had fit to travel with him and Anija to the Capital to be introduced to the Daimyo. At the end of the week of their stay, Tobirama had vaguely recalled that the noble woman who giggles whenever Father was near her was found dead in her room. As a child it didn't really register to him that something was amiss when it happened because he was busy playing with Anija and training at that time.

But now that Tobirama is an Adult. He can now confirmed with utmost confidence that his Sensing includes knowing who becomes a Psychopath when it comes to their romantic partner.

Tobirama grimaces internally. He was loath to admit it, but his Mother is his first hard evidence of people with such extreme tendencies. He glances down at his scribbled notes with hidden codes sparsely written so no one would know of his rather personal investigation.....

Tobirama frowns deeply. Anija had been jotted down in his notes too..because he had also started to display his psychopathic tendencies. He hates to admit that he felt stupid and that it took so long for him to notice Anija's blank eyed stares when someone talks to Mito–neesan.

He shuddered in fright.

He doesn't dare to tell Mito-neesan about his speculation. Anija would probably bury him alive without killing him if he tried to warn Mito-neesan....

Tobirama bit his lips. He warily eyed the next names written underneath Anija's. Madara and Izuna had surprised him about their psychopathic tendencies. He doesn't know who are their prospects but Tobirama found himself under threatening looks whenever the Uchiha Brothers are near him. He had checked again and again with the people he had interacted with but so far as he found out... none of them had been the lover of the Uchiha Brothers...

So why is he getting hounded, furiously glared at and feeling like he's about to be killed whenever the Brothers circled around him?...

Tobirama rubbed his aching temples. Should he just hide for a month in his lab then?. So that whatever offensive thing he did would make The Uchiha Brothers forget if they can't see him?...

A single eerie knock on his lab door made Tobirama sit up in fright. His eyes nervously darted at his sealed door.

He cleared his throat and shook his head to get rid of his rattled nerves. " Who is it?. "

" Tobirama. Why are you hiding in your lab?. "

Tobirama felt the spine chilling fear shooting down his spine at hearing Izuna’s ominous question. He just knew, that it'll be an enormous mistake if he were to open his lab door.

" Uchiha. It has only been a day since I took an absence. I do not know what you need me for but just recruit Anija to help you or something. " Tobirama grimaced at his impatient tone. He didn't mean to sound dismissive but he really, really didn't want to talk to Izuna this day....preferably for a month even.

" Won't you invite us in then, Tobirama?. " Tobirama quickly stood up from his seat as he heard Madara’s voice behind the door. What in the world?...he was so sure, Izuna was the only person that was standing in front of his lab door. So where did the Elder Uchiha had come from?.

Tobirama with a dry throat swallowed nervously. " No Uchiha. I don't want the two of you entering my lab. Who knows what the two of you would accidentally destroy if you bumble around here. " he sneered in anger.

Ominous silence greeted his hateful answer.

Tobirama warily eyed his lab door. He cannot sense Madara and Izuna’s chakra behind it perhaps the Brothers had given up in pestering him?.

He decided to sit for a minute to rest his trembling legs but before he could do so...the spike of combine furious Chakra lashing out at his sensitive Sensing made him stumble on his feet and he crashes onto the ground with a hard thump. He felt dizzy and in pain as he accidentally bashed his head on his lab table when he crashed down.

He clutches his head as he wheezes painfully. The oppressive Chakra felt like it was burning him alive....

He tried to stand up, but his shaking limbs won't support him. He only had a second to realize that his doorknob had slowly rotated and an ominous click of it signified that it had been unlocked.

Tobirama stared terrified at the sandal clad feet that step over his lab barrier without any difficulty.

He slowly looked up at the Brother's furiously blazing Sharingan.

" That's not nice of you, Tobirama. " he tried to crawl away when the Elder Uchiha crouch down in front of him. But the suffocating grip on his neck made him freeze in his tracks.

" Guess its really time for him to be trained then?. What say you Aniki?. " Tobirama was instantly confused at that remark. What in the world was Izuna talking about?. What training?.

" For such a genius man. You are rather oblivious to our romantic intentions, Tobirama. " The blank eyed looks of both Uchiha Brothers made Tobirama gobsmacked that he forgot to even fight his way out of his impending doom.

With his aching head and spinning thoughts it took a second too late for him to avoid two sets of Sharingan that bulldozed its influence inside his mind like a roaring Tsunami crashing and devouring everything in its path.

And then.... Tobirama knew nothing anymore...

Something something Uzumaki chakra having an strange effect on Nagato's eyes, originally Izuna's, which cause him to see Izuna's ghost haunting him (as he is tethered to the mortal plain by his own eyes). First, only as a figure at the corner of his vision, then something clearer, yet still blurry, until eventually it takes the shape of a man. A strange man, invisible to others, that is always shadowing his steps. He thought it was normal at first, that everybody had their own silent watcher, but later found out it was something unique to him. The man doesn't seem to realize that Nagato can see him, and doesn't seem to hear him either. Or anything in fact, as if he was unconscious, yet he walks and looks at the world with glassy eyes.

Once Nagato starts training with Jiraiya and his chakra develops, the silent man becomes more solid, still unseen by others, but also more present, Nagato observes as the watcher grows more and more aware each day. He sees flickers of confusion from time to time, but then the man becomes a ghost once again. Sometimes he'd walk, restless, then stop, and drift. Until, one day, his awareness lasts enough for him to notice Nagato.

"Rinnegan," he whispers, then "Uzumaki."

His eyes glaze over before he can say anything else. Only then Nagato realizes how expressive the man could be, how clearly he could see the surprise, awe, fear, and finally disdain on his face.

For the first time in his life, Nagato is afraid of the watcher.

Kawarma: Awwww, nii-saan! That only happened once! And why are you acting like the boss of us all of a sudden; isn’t that Hashirama’s job?!

Itama: Be nice if he did care a little about his brothers, but, well, he’s been distracted lately, hasn’t he?

Hashirama: I have not! I’m as focused as ever! Darn you, Madara, sometimes you’re really so — *stops, claps his hand to his mouth when he realizes what he said*

Tobirama, laying on his bed, a look of disgust on his face: Good lord …

*Itama and Kawarma both howl with laughter as Hashirama, blushing, sits down on his bed*

Hashirama: Fine, go ahead and make fun of me all you want! But it’s perfectly okay for me to have a friend, and that’s what Madara is, a good friend! Nothing else!

Kawarma, pulling a small leather book out from behind his pillow: That’s sure not what you said in here …

Hashirama: Oi! Where did you find my diary?! That’s private!!

Kawarma, pretending to read out loud: “Dear Diary, today I saw that really handsome boy down by the river again. I wanted to kiss him but he said he’d punch me in the throat. I think I’m in looooove!”

Hashirama, scowling and snatching the book out of his hands: Shut up! I didn’t say that!!

Itama, reading in his bed: No; what you actually wrote is far worse. So sickeningly sweet … *makes a gagging noise*

Tobirama: Now, now, brothers; it’s not Hashirama’s fault that he has bad taste.

hiii, I already adored your art from the comic of metal and hoki and married Kkgai - and to now see you put kkgai in founders time is giving me so much dopamine 💥 any chance you could elaborate on the dynamic between Madara and Gai ? :] how does he interact with the other founders ?

(Sorry I took so long to answer this I wanted to finish a lil comic I’ve been working on that basically contains what would have been the first meeting of madara and gai in the fic but that is going to take a fair bit longer so I hope you don’t mind me just answering with some doodles)

first up the dynamic between the founders, gai and kakashi is as follows:

The black haired guy at the top middle is kakashi he actually is in disguise most of the story because he’s trying to be really careful and not alter the timeline too much.

This causes its own set of problems when gai after being told by kakashi to stay put and not interact with anyone (gai was not meant to join kakashi in the past and they weren’t meant to go back so far so kakashi is a bit disoriented) mistakes madara for his eternal rival and interferes with an ambush to help him escape unscathed. Madara witnesses here the 6th gate for the first time and decides to kidnap gai and keep him as a prisoner until he’s figured out what the heck gai did to spontaneously get stronger.

Gai tries to figure out the lest future changey way of escaping and finding the real kakashi while madara tries to figure out gais deal generally. Eventually gai agrees to spar with madara on the condition that madara sends people to search for his rival.

Their sparing matches are actually really interesting! Gai is exceptional at countering the sharingan but madara is a far more experienced fighter both of them are a fan of a good fight so they actually end up growing closer through these fights (this relationship development would actually have been a large part of the story)it doesn’t help that they both remind each other of their respective rivals, so they sort of fall into a closer relationship than they would naturally because they both miss them so much.

Their would likely be dashes of madagai in this story but ultimately they’re not each other’s endgame so it would only really manifest in like madaras musings about what a world where they got together might look like. As well as the occasional crisis of faith from gai where he weirdly feels like he’s cheating on kakashi despite them not actually being together till the end of the story.

So yeah hopefully that illuminates the dynamic a bit more :]

by the pricking of my thumbs, Izuna & Shikako, something about divinity and debts? Shikako inadvertently saves his life and he believes he has a new mission in life to serve the random goddess who spared his life?

Okay, here’s the thing anon, you KNOW I love burgeoning young god, divine shenanigans with Shikako. You KNOW this and are PLAYING WITH MY HEART!

But I think, given the way Izuna days and how critical he/his death are in the lingering resentment/tensions between the Uchiha and Senju, that IF Shikako is going to save his life, it wouldn’t be inadvertently. Or, the closest to “inadvertently” would be if she doesn’t realize WHOSE life she is specifically saving.

Like, here’s what I’m picturing in my head:

Tobirama does a near-fatal blow against Izuna. At this point in history, the only people who COULD heal him are Senju.

I don’t know how swiftly the battlefield is emptied, or if Madara was also in that same fight, but there might be a window of time in which no one but the (presumed) dead are on the battlefield. If, in that window, Shikako senses that one of the bodies is not dead YET then she would go in and heal said body.

When Izuna opens his eyes after being certain he was dead, the first thing he sees is the face of a goddess. His Sharingan evolves.

Izuna is the first Uchiha (in this world, at least) to gain the Shikabane-hime and Gelel techniques.

If he has anything to say about it, he will not be the last.

Then it gets into, like, sort of silly shenanigans in which Izuna is earnestly preaching about the goddess he serves who brought him back to life, and Shikako is just like. Pls, no. Pls don’t. Pls. I don’t want that. (Izuna has better persuasion checks than Shikako. Though to be fair, her DC is much higher than his)

At some point, I guess she just leans into it and is like. I MIGHT AS WELL MAKE SURE KONOHA IS BUILT PROPERLY INSTEAD OF IT BEING FULL OF SECRETS AND TENSIONS AND TRAPS THAT BITE EVERYONE IN THE ASS DECADES LATER

… I wonder what the Shikabane-hime and Gelel techniques are…

This does then get into, like… and it sucks that this is the way it’s phrased, but it literally is this: Church vs State in which Izuna is leader of the Church of Shikabane-hime and Tobirama is doing most of the legislative/administrative work for State while his brother is charismatically Hokage-ing it up elsewhere.

And, like, Tobirama is Shikako’s favorite and he is a fuinjutsu master and he is doing SO MUCH WORK FOR THE SAKE OF KONOHA, EVEN IF SOMETIMES IT HAS TERRIBLE REPERCUSSIONS IF THE WRONG PERSON TAKES HOLD OF CERTAIN ORGANIZATIONS. And she also wants to assert, again, that she is not a goddess.

Unfortunately, her status as a divine being IS the only thing Izuna and Tobirama agree on. Tobirama just doesn’t think the Church of Shikabane-hime needs it’s own Vatican-style independent district within Konoha.

“Of course the temple will be central to the design of the village,” Tobirama says, a rough sketch of what buildings need to be prioritized on top of a survey map of the land that would one day become Konoha. He says it so matter of factly that Shikako almost misses it. “What?” Shikako asks, confused. “Of course it must be the center of the village,” Izuna snaps, even though they are literally in agreement. “It must also be the tallest building in the village.” “What?” Shikako asks, concerned. “Of course,” Tobirama retorts even though, again, they are literally in agreement.

Like… Tobirama does totally believe Shikako is a goddess. So many of his techniques are god adjacent (Thunder God—both sword and Hiraishin—and then the Edo Tensei/summoning shinigami maybe) that he doesn’t mind that. He just thinks that Izuna shouldn’t be so cocky just because he saw her first and got a cool new technique because of his cheating eyes while Tobirama has to do MATH and figure out how to bend the laws of the universe via fuinjutsu in order to get a Shikabane-hime technique. It’s not fair.

Also, Konoha LITERALLY having a goddess bless/guide the creation of their village is VERY POWERFUL. So giving Izuna a separate district for the Church of Shikabane-hime instead of incorporating Shikabane-hime into Konoha's very foundations does make that good PR a little less powerful.

I’m not saying Konoha becomes a holy city. But… like… maybe?

office au where izuna is extremely normal and just like, the cool popular guy in the office. and then tobirama gets transferred and is his cold fish self, and the more izuna is denied a normal path to a normal positive working relationship with the man the more insane he gets about it.

like he would've been fine (debatable) if tobirama had just accepted his offer for drinks after work on his first day. he'd be normal if tobirama would agree to lunch even just ONCE. but instead tobirama keeps leaving the office exactly at 5 pm and spending his lunch breaks with a locked door and essentially insulting izuna's carefully crafted work performance of Coolest Normal-est Man In The Office. that fucking bastard. izuna can't let this stand

izuna considers taking up smoking on the off chance tobirama already smokes and is secretly taking smoke breaks that he could crash. he spends his morning commute frantically googling for drugs that would make tobirama more agreeable so he'd accept a fucking invite for once. he intentionally makes mold grow on the ceiling of his office (spraying it with moldy water every day until it sprouts) so he gets moved into sharing Tobirama's until his is safe. these are all perfectly reasonable actions to take and entirely Tobirama's fault

Tobirama: Gee, thanks. Anyways … *rolls over on top of Madara and kisses him* Happy birthday, you insufferable prick.

Madara: *kissing him back* Thanks, you horrible human. But is the ring all I get? Because … *slides his hands down Tobirama’s waist* I can think of something else I want even more ~

Tobirama: Ah, that might have to wait until later, Uchiha. I don’t think our guests would enjoy hearing you scream.

Madara: Guests? What —

*heard out in the kitchen*

Izuna: Senju. For the love of God, go home.

Hashirama: I can’t go home! Madara is my best friend! How would he feel if I didn’t at least make him breakfast on his birthday?!

Izuna: Relieved! To avoid the food poisoning! GO HOME!

Hashirama: Why the hell do YOU get to make him breakfast then?!

Izuna: He’s my big brother!! I’ve made him breakfast in bed on his birthday for years and years! And besides, you can’t cook!

Hashirama: Yes I can!! Look at how perfect my French toast turned out!

Izuna: It’s burnt around the edges and soggy in the middle!

Hashirama, sounding close to tears: Madara will appreciate my effort, at least. Now let me through!

Izuna: You know what? Fine! *the sound of plates being smashed on the floor* Walk over that in your bare feet and you can bring him breakfast!

Hashirama: Are you crazy?! We picked up those plates at the last flea market we went to! They’re a symbol of our undying friendship!

Izuna: Oh? Well in that case … *throws more plates on the ground* Now they’re a symbol of garbage. Just like you and your entire clan.

Hashirama: You little asshole! I should —

*back in the bedroom*

Madara: Good God … were WE that obnoxious during our courtship?

Tobirama: Well you did break quite a few glasses over my head. And who could forget that time you mailed a package of venomous snakes to my office …

Madara: Heh. I really did like you.

Tobirama: I know. *leans over and kisses him* It’s up to you, birthday boy. Should we go out there and break them up, or should we stay cuddled up for a few more hours? 

Madara: I —

*from the kitchen, the sound of Izuna using his katon to light things on fire and Hashirama screaming*

Madara: *burying his head against Tobirama’s chest* They’ll be fine. Worse comes to worse we can always get a new house.
