Old Man Yaoi AU future rambles
I never posted the full thing here, so I thought why not, since I'm struggling to get anything new down lol. Just copy and pasted from twitter, so forgive any weird formatting or errors!
I started this not knowing where I wanted to go with it, just knowing '10 years after being gone from japan, old man yaoi afomight come back because Toshinori has a bleeding heart and AfO is along for the ride' . And I didn't know what I wanted to show exactly, just the comfort and ease at which the two acted with one another.
AfO's gonna join Toshi at the railing and hold out a hand. Knowing what he wants, Toshi's gonna pull out a pack of cigarettes and let AfO take one.
"I don't know why I still carry these." Toshi says, watching as AfO lights the cigarette with a flicker of a stolen fire quirk. "
Habit." AfO says. "The lingering effects of the leash around my neck. Does it bother you?"
All Might quirks a brow. "What? The fact that I have to carry your shit for you, even now?"
AfO chuckles. That wasn't what he meant, and Toshi knows it. That's answer enough really - the experiments, the chip in his brain (even now long destroyed), the torture that AfO went through at the hands of the HPSC - of course it still bothered Toshi.
Coming back to japan…
It's weighing on Toshi. He's here to help his former students, even though he's retired officially as a hero. Vigilantism is still frowned upon, but no-one has the balls to tell All Might to keep to the sidelines, especially now that he has a few quirks on his side. And AfO. And isn't that funny? AfO has stated many times that he refuses to lend a hand. Toshi's alright with that. He's alright with the company alone. He still marvels at the fact that AfO still kept himself leashed to-
(Guilt, self hatred, Toshi still hasn't let them go. His former enemy could throw him that crooked grin that he'd hated so much in the past and Toshi would just melt these days.)
Toshi let out a heavy breath. Being back here… it was making it so much harder to rationalize his thoughts. His emotions. AfO stood by his side through all the meetings, appearing bored out of his mind and throwing in many a snide remark, and Toshi looked at him and thought 'I should hate this man.'
He didn't, though. The heroes, his former students scurried around the former demon lord like he was going to snap at any minute. Tenko refused to be in the same city as him. Izuku and Katsuki watched AfO with a single minded determination to put him down before he can even think to make a move, and only Toshi knew that AfO really had no intention to shatter the tentative truce in place.
Only Toshi knew AfO had other plans. He always had other plans. Some Toshi knew the details of, some he didn't, and there was a time when that would have terrified him. 15 years to spend together, through danger after danger…
Toshi knew AfO.
The doubts, when they appeared, didn't last.
"Does it bother you?" Toshi tossed the question back, and AfO paused, cigarette to his lips. Hazy white eyes drift to meet Toshi's, and the former hero marvels at just how easy it was to read AfO now.
AfO was disgruntled.
"Yes, and no." AfO said. "I don't care about your little students." A pause, and AfO's eyes gain a focus that has Toshi's hackles raising. "Hm. No, I suppose I do. But not because they all fear me or I feel any guilt for what I did to them."
A long time ago, Toshi would have flinched. He didn't even bat an eye now, even as he thought of Tenko and the sheer torment that All for One put that boy through.
(Guilt, guilt, guilt...)
"No, your one boy... Izuku Midoriya." AfO's gaze dropped focus again, his form relaxing when Toshi didn't bite at him defensively at the sound of his former students name. Toshi stood there, listening. "Or rather, One for All. And my brother."
Toshi hummed. His focus is intent. "Are you going to try taking it back again?"
AfO didn't look at him. Eyes unfocused again, cigarette dangling from between his fingers, burning away without being used. Toshi waited patiently. "... I said I would not." All for One finally said as he came back to himself. There's a tension to his mouth now. He's unhappy about it. "Your trust was hard enough to earn as it was. However..."
AfO is in Toshi's personal space now, a wall of heat pushing back the encroaching chill of the evening. Toshi braced a hand against the railing and shifted to face him, brow quirked. AfO always did like to crowd when he wanted to make a point or had something important to say.
"Do you remember what I said to you that last night we were here?" There's that crooked grin again, charming and threatening and so very well practiced. "When you played at hero when you didn't need to? When you were bleeding out and I had to carry you to safety?"
Toshi swallowed a sudden lump in his throat. "When - yes, what are you getting at?"
AfO finally brings the cigarette to his lips and takes a lazy drag. Smoke curls through the air, and Toshi breaths it in with shiver, remembering a time when he would have doubled over, unable to breathe.
"I can't fault you for being a hero." AfO said. "It's who you are at your core. You're the perfect hero, and I so utterly adore that. You're here to help, because of course you are, you're All Might."
Even when praising him it sounds condescending.
"But I want you to remember what I told you then." AfO flicked the cigarette carelessly to the ground and crushed it under the heel of his shoe. "About what will happen if your heroism gets the best of you, and you end up killing yourself."
At that, Toshi winced. Ah.
(a preview of THAT is this)
(imagine Toshi's head in AfO's lap after being shot by the president of the HPSC lmao...)
AfO's smile is all threat. "If you let your heroism get the best of you, and you end up killing yourself, then know that there is nothing left to prevent me from completing my initial goals and taking One for All for myself."
It wasn't the healthiest of ultimatums.
But it was one Toshi remembered laughing at after hearing it for the first time. Live, because if not then AfO would turn back into the supervillain he was at heart? 'Live, or else I kill everything you hold dear?' He'd thought it was kind of sweet. Hadn't wanted to question why.
Still doesn't want to question why. Even now, he finds it kind of sweet. Knows its... messed up.
He smiles at All for One, feeling warm. "Don't worry about me. I don't plan on dying anytime soon."
"Good boy." All for One croons, and his arms snake around Toshi's waist.
They stand together in silence for a moment, and the evening sky deepens around them. AfO breaks the silence. "I feel you should know it's actually quite difficult to behave. I'm showing remarkable restraint."
Toshi snorts against AfO's neck, muffling his laughter. "Good boy."

I never read GoT books ( A song of ice and fire) and never will bc not only it is expensive but it dabbles with dark themes. But I need to say this, I do like to read the essays and metas and a common census is how Danny and Jon's meeting is smth that will happen and is important.
Now why I'm mentioning this?
Bc it just hit me if Hori wasnt Hori....we could have this. A journey where Izu and Shig are the pivotal forces...and they will meet, it is foreshadow, it is the story their meeting and teaming up (not talking only on a shipping sense. Like a villain and hero from 0 going "together" to 100 is sooo cool)
Bonus: Izu does see corruption but instead of the fics going "now Izu beat up everyone" he sees to destroy the real problem, the hero system. Bc is not fair everyone sit down and watches as one hero lifts building to save one life (and unlike Hori, Izu would have supporters)
Shig wpuld grow emotionally from the mindset "destroy all" and would join forces with Izu....
Afo? He dies. He should have give the last croaked in Kamino. Why? Bc he is pathetic and there a sense of bittersweet, a man with such powerful quirk is still a loser and couldn't do shit.
AM is free to now think on what to do...
This feels like a good fic idea (and I shall do it) but god, we could have this.
Hi @mikeellee 👋,
Also never read GOT but I have seen parts of the show on YouTube and read meta's like you. It does seem like, from what I've seen, that GRRM foreshadows and writes better than Hori and builds up Dany, Jon and their meeting as important through the story.
Hori really should have done this with Izu and Shig, as well as gave Shig more pivotal moments in the story where he influences Izu/ Izu's views and drives the plot himself.
As it stands the influential villains for Izu are in canon; Overhaul and AFO. Not Shig at all and as Shig is meant to be "Izuku's villain" this sucks. It's not like there wasn't any opportunities to do this either - there were! Hori just never took them! I.e have Shig kidnap Izu instead of Bkg during the training camp, have Shig tip off Izu about Eri's situation (bc fuck Overhaul) etc...
Your version with both Izu and Shig growing from each other sounds really cool - let me know when you write this as a fanfic :)

Mun Questions: 3 /5/10
QUESTIONS FOR MUNS.
3 & 5 were previously answered!
10. what genre do you most enjoy, whether in roleplay, or fiction as a whole? (fantasy, period, superhero, etc.)
I have done most genres and must admit most of my best threads are in that fantasy genre. Mystery threads can also be amazing too. I did this role play before where I created a whole crime and every rper had one piece of the puzzle and every reason to hide what they know. Slowly, they must come together and figure out what really happened before the wrath of the ghost (or is it really a ghost?) destroys them all. I loved watching everyone's characters struggle with indecision and attempting to work together, then alliances falling apart due to certain clues being revealed. Oh man, it was so good.
Darker threads are more fun for me in general and I am not easily offended by heavy content. I would love to do a fantasy AU where Izuku is an adventurer, trying to figure out how to free a kingdom from a terrible reign. Or if people with quirks are in the minority and are actually shunned by society. Maybe even explore what happens after the war and the possibility of the hero society not rebuilding properly and turning into more of a threat than AFO etc. If you have an idea for something painful and want to write it with Izuku, feel free to pitch me your thoughts. I am very open to writing a lot of stuff!

Never Fade author’s notes under the cut! @masterfuldoodler you wanted to see this
The title contains the theme and also a key word—so to start, here’s a list of all the times I use some variant of the word fade in Never Fade
1. Uraraka repairs Midoriya’s half-destroyed shirt and the blood that was staining it fades away. Actually, this is the only time in the fic I used the word unintentionally, but I’m sure it can be read into to fit anyway.
2. In the flashback where Bakugou and Midoriya find Kirishima, who is in the middle of dying and being reborn. The color of the scales on his old body fade away.
3. Bakugou destroys a monster—it crumbles to dust and then fades away.
4. All for One loses his power and immediately dies—he flakes apart and fades away.
5. Midoriya remembers something the dragons told him in a past life.
The following events occur in this order chronologically:
1. Izuku asks all might if he can be a hero
2. owlbear fight
3. all might appears during the night watch
However, they appear in the fic in the order 3, 1, 2. Izuku doesn’t remember scenes 1 or 2 when he’s in scene 3—so the non-chronology of the fic shows his perspective.
“Young Midoriya,” All Might said, fiddling with the hem of his robe, “I changed my mind about something—and I never got the chance to tell you.”
This is a reference to scene one—knowledge of canon should gap in what All Might’s response was when Izuku asked the question the first time.
There was originally a small error in these scenes: 1 and 2 were supposed to occur within a week of each other, but I accidentally set 1 in the spring and 2 in the autumn. It bugged me, so I went back and changed the forest description in scene 2 to make it springtime.
Bakugo’s reaction the first time he sees Izuku in the fic is a direct response to the scene with the owlbear.
Racing through Kamino, Izuku remembered the crisis that had taught him how to run. Carrying the remnant of his master’s notes and an extra life force, he had fled this barren country, stopping only when he reached green grass and a clear stream.
Now he was going the other way.
This is a callback to the very beginning:
There was something wrong with the gait of his run. Once he had lapped up leagues where grass grew only in patches and the wastes lived to kill, but now he was huffing through a perfectly ordinary woodland.
AFO actually didn’t realize that Izuku was the current OFA holder (since he thought he was Todoroki).
The first soul explained it later, once Izuku had learned to dream.
At some nebulous time in the future after Izuku unlocks the OFA dreamscape, First explains the content of this paragraph to him.
The main portion of the spell was built to summon a dead man from beyond the grave, and All for One's blood directed it towards his nearest kin.
AFO was attempting a necromancy spell—he wanted to resurrect First. This is why AFO cuts his arm—the blood is supposed to “select” First from all possible dead people.
Though they had been bursting out of him instead of running towards him, the thousands of life forces traveling through the mechanism had still powered it, would have fulfilled their master's plan, were it not for one fatal mistake.
Izuku messed with the spell—it was supposed to be powered by killing a bunch of random nearby people using the AFO life force stealing mechanic. Izuku had previously changed this to the OFA life giving mechanic which is why AFO disintegrated—the spell made him use his own (stolen) lifeforce to power it. But this change didn’t actually keep the spell from working—it just changed how it was fueled.
His brother's most recent body was not the one he had been born in.
The spell functioned—it selected a person by AFO’s blood but then resurrected them based on life force, so by a fluke it pulled Izuku instead. Izuku doesn’t know any of this.
Waking without that knowledge, Izuku could think only of the word told to him by the dragons. Giving up your life was the only sure way to get one that would never fade.
It’s something Banjo learned from Kirishima. It’s the center of the story. If you lose your life you will find it.
Iida shook his head. “I’m not one to talk—but what you did was extremely foolish. You’re lucky you didn’t die too.”
The dramatic irony here is on purpose.
Knuckles half an inch from the door frame, Izuku stopped. There was something in the placement of the stepping stones, the color of the house’s paneling, like a tree left to grow for a decade—almost familiar enough to recognize. This could be his home, but it could have been Nana’s. What if he opened the door and found someone he did not know, a descendant he never got to meet?
This is funny because the last time he knocked at a random door he was greeted by one of Nana's descendants.
Now compare this:
Drawing his pocket knife from its sheath in his boot, he dove forward onto the ground, held the blade steady with both hands just as the owlbear stepped onto its point at full speed. Shrieking, it jerked back. The knife came up with its paw, driving in deeper when it put its weight on the limb again. Izuku had just enough time to scramble to his feet, grinning at his success, before its face turned sideways to bite him. His ribcage cracked like a nut in its beak.
With this:
“Are you sure? I’ve been told that coughing up blood is a symptom of severe pneumonia.”
Izuku held his breath. That was her.
“I told you,” All Might insisted, “I am not sick—it’s because of an injury to my ribcage.”
In this AU, All Might’s injury isn’t from AFO, it’s from passing on OFA. When he gave Izuku his life force(s), he ended up with Izuku’s injury.

If you're taking prompt what if Inko was the daughter of AfO and Izuku still gets OfA later. But he has fire breath like his dead beat dad thanks to his grandfather. Teach him for running out on his baby girl.
It had taken long enough that his minions were in need of a serious reprimand, but finally Midoriya Hisashi was sprawled on the ground at All for One's feet. He was suitably beaten, bound, and blindfolded, but alive, as requested.
"Hello, Hisashi. I suppose you didn't think you'd ever see me again." He used the man's first name, because he didn't care to associate his daughter's surname with this sniveling waste of space, even if he had legally adopted it at their farce of a wedding.
Hisashi froze. A whisper of smoke leaked past his lips.
"I wonder, do you even recognize my voice?"
"Shi- Shigaraki..."
"Oh, very good!" All for One clapped his hands in a show of false cheer. "So! You remember your father-in-law, but not your wife? Not your son?"
"I- I-"
"Because amnesia is the only acceptable excuse I can think of for abandoning them and trying to move all the way to Hokkaido. Unless you'd like to try a different one." All for One paused, and the silence stretched out before him, thin and brittle, much like Hisashi's bones. "I'm waiting."
"It- it isn't my fault," whined the man. "And I- I was always going to send money back. I just- I just can't live there anymore. I- Shouldn't you be pleased about this? You hated me and Inko get-"
All for One kicked Hisashi sharply. "Don't even say her name. I did hate your sham of a marriage. But as long as it made her happy, I put up with it."
Hisashi wheezed, more smoke filling the air of the disused underground parking garage they were meeting in.
"Speak clearly," demanded All for One.
"It- the boy. He's quirkless. I could- couldn't stay, with everyone knowing."
"Oh?" said All for One, voice suddenly silky smooth. He bent over and put his hand on top of Hisashi's head. "Well, lucky for you, that's something I can fix."
.
All for One dropped Hisashi on one of Garaki's carefully polished operating tables. "Make him into something interesting," he ordered, and Garaki scrambled to examine his new materials.
Meanwhile, All for One took a seat in one of Garaki's rolling chair. "I simply don't understand it," he said. "Who leaves their family just because they had a quirkless child? Unbelievable."
Of course, All for One had seen similar things many times before in his long life and knew they happened very well. He simply failed to understand. With his brother, even when he'd actively been trying to dismantle his empire... Destroying other people made sense, but family was special.
"He should be pleased by this outcome, really. Izuku won't be quirkless for much longer."
"You- you're giving him a quirk, my lord?"
"Yes," said All for One. "This fool's quirk, to be precise. And perhaps his grandmother's. I'll miss it, of course, but to be honest, I don't really use it the way it should be."
"But," said Garaki, "my lord, I've already diagnosed the boy as quirkless."
"Then you'll just have to practice your groveling for when you apologize to them." He paused. "Surely you aren't concerned about the medical reputation of a throwaway identity?"
"Not at all, my lord," said Garaki in a way that indicated extreme dissatisfaction.
All for One ignored him.
.
"Kacchan! Kacchan! Guess what? Guess what?"
"Go away, nerd!"
Izuku was undeterred. "I got my quirk!"
Kacchan scowled mightily. "No you didn't! You were dig-dag-dignoz-" The frown became mightier. "The doctor said you were quirkless, stupid deku!"
"The doctor was wrong! Watch! Watch!" He puckered his lips and a small tongue of flame emerged from between them. "And that's not it!" He pointed at a stunned Kacchan and a small gust of wind ruffled his hair. "I can do that, too! Mama said it's just like gramma's!"
"That's- you- You're still not better than me!"
"I know!" said Izuku, cheerfully.
"Hm, I don't know," said another one of the students watching, "Deku can do two things, and Bakugo just explodes..."
Bakugo's shriek of rage was audible throughout the entire preschool.
.
"Two quirks, Dad? Two? TWO? After everything you drilled into my head about how dangerous it was to give people multiple quirks? What were you thinking?" demanded Inko.
"Hardly anyone dies from just two quirks," said All for One, "and he retained the family adaptation for accepting multiple quirks, the risk was-"
"Not. Yours. To. Take." Inko punctuated each word with a jab to the chest, then sat down heavily in the nearest chair. "I hope you understand. I am furious with you."
"Inko, princess-"
Inko held up her hand. "No. If I see Izuku with another quirk, I will kill you. Do you understand? No warning, no third chances. If you're a threat to my son, you're dead."
"Perfectly," said All for One, choosing not to mention the longevity quirks all three of them had.
.
Watching illegally obtained footage of his grandson's entrance exam was and excellent way to unwind after a long and stressful day of being unspeakably evil.
Right up until the part where Izuku destroyed a giant robot by punching it to bits.
The heartrate monitor he was attached to unhelpfully informed him that his had skyrocketed. He had never told Inko about One for All. The entrance exam had taken place hours ago.
"Kurogiri!" he called. "Kurogiri?"
No response.
"Hello, Dad."
.
Izuku's acceptance into UA was marred by news of his grandfather's sudden death. He had been getting older, but he always sounded so full of life when they talked on the phone.
After the service, Izuku lingered by the grave. He reached into his jacket pocket and took out a small booklet, a copy of a vintage comic his grandfather had gotten him into. He put it down by the headstone.
"I was always too embarrassed to tell you this," he said, softly, "but the real reason I started to want to be a hero... it wasn't that old All Might video. It was this." He tapped the cover of the comic. "The way the hero never gave up..." Izuku sniffed. "It was just really inspiring." He wiped tears away from his face. "I'll make you proud. I promise. I'll be the best hero there ever was!"
.
In America, a woman named Morticia Roll paused. Her rather niche quirk was the ability to know who would be spinning in their graves the most, if people were able to spin in their graves.
Most of the time, that honor belonged to some random European dude. But Shigaraki Hiroshi sounded Asian... She shrugged and went back to her gardening. Whatever was happening, it wasn't any of her business.

hear me out: villain!todofam, but it's not dabi who recruits them.
it's tomura. because dabi's spiralling and tomura can't help but think he needs someone who really understands him (because he doesn't think he gets it, for some reason). - @hitoshishinzou
Think about Tomura risking it all and showing up one day at the Todorokis house while Natsuo, Fuyumi and Shouto are alone. Tomura looks desperate and he tells them to call Endeavor if they want, but first, he asks them to hear him out.
“It's about Touya.”
Tomura asks Shouto to freeze his hands. He doesn't seem to care if he can lose them. Maybe that's why Shouto decides his gonna give him one chance, before calling their dad.
Tomura quickly explains that Dabi is Touya and shows them a photo he took while Dabi was dyeing his hair. He tells them he knows his betraying his best friend, but— But he takes the risk. For his family.
And because Dabi is a fucking blind man in need of saving, because he's on the verge of losing his own life and bringing the League down on the process.
Tomura doesn't get why Dabi cares so much about Stain, but he knows Dabi's obsession with both Stain and Endeavor got him one step for falling. He needs someone how cares about him enough to try and understand, someone who was there to witness Endeavor's abuse, someone Dabi would listen to.
Fuyumi and Shouto both think it's a trap. Why would he cared so much about Touya? Why would they believe him? But Natsuo has taken some classes about psychology and human behaviors, enough to see the edge on Tomura's eyes. Not tears, but a raged pain, the frustration of not being able to fix a situation on your own.
Natsuo asks Fuyumi and Shouto to let him go with Tomura. No one needs to know, they can all say Tomura kidnapped him. How? Well, he said he was going to a bar and Shouto and Fuyumi though he was over there. Tomura decides to trust Shouto and gave him the location where Dabi is, but he makes his warning: if the pro-heroes catch Touya, they're going to put him in Tartarus, with no recovery or help.
Shouto tries to deny it, Fuyumi tries to say he's a murderer, but Natsuo says he would never forgive them if they let Touya died twice. He wants to try, he has studied the League's victims, they are mostly other villains. Maybe he's insane, but he owns his brother as much.
Shouto and Fuyumi can't sleep that night. Meanwhile, Shigaraki asks Natsuo to don't tell Dabi about their talk. Turns out the whole League has been plotting behind Dabi's back how to help him.
Giran introduces Natsuo to the group as their local doctor. Dabi almost lost his mind, but Natsuo pretends he doesn't recognize him. His excuse is that he's been worrying about them, because for him even villains deserve health treatments.
Natsuo gets surprised with the League. They are so kind and welcoming, maybe strange and scary, but not the monsters the TV talks about. And they all act so well, but from so close he can finally see the cracks of hurt among all the anger.
Dabi is bad. He almost cries when he sees his brother so full of burns and scars, of staples. What about his internal organs? His hygiene? He can't cry, can he? Where does he get the medicine? Does he go to the doctor? Do they even have a thermometer to measure if one of them has a fever?
He doesn't do much that night. He comes back in the morning and Fuyumi and Shouto interrogates him, but he's so full of hatred. Hatred towards his dad, towards the system. Around 19 years has passed, his brother was on the streets while they were surrounded by a fortune. His father was accumulating fame while Dabi was out there, getting infections and losing movement.
Fuyumi and Shouto barely convinces Natsuo to only go sometimes to see the League. Shouto doesn't even know what he should do, tell the heroes or not. He doesn't want to lose both his brothers, he doesn't want to betray his friends. Fuyumi keeps pretending it's not that bad, but she's shaking from fear.
Natsuo and Dabi keep getting closer as they used to be on the meanwhile. Natsuo grows to understand more and more what drives the League and even when he doesn't share their beliefs, he's trying hard to putting them on another way.
That's when Shouto realizes the great danger Natsuo is in. Thankfully, Izuku is also starting to see the real kid behind Tomura, thanks to All Might and Shouto. Shouto convinces the heroes to let him become a secret member of the League.
So you have two Todorokis already on the League, hmm.
Rei joins them by faking her own death and going with her sons. Like son, like mother.
At that point, Dabi had been angry several times, had had a few breakdowns but thankfully, after Natsuo convincing him them living with him on the League is just gonna piss Endeavor even more, Dabi allows them by his side.
And boy, if Dabi missed them.
Since Endeavor knows nothing about Natsuo's life, he doesn't know. Since Shouto fakes to be a double agent, Endeavor doesn't ask. Since Endeavor thinks Rei is dead, he has no idea.
And then Fuyumi starts visiting them, because by some weird change in the wheel of fortune, now they're mostly villains, apparently. She's surprised to feel safe within the League, and she's surprised to find out about the members of the League. She's particularly fond of Toga and Twice, because she can see clearly why society rejected them and how did that affect them.
Let's choose a world where Rei manages to make the hatred towards his father reduce within Dabi. Let's imagine he wants a way out of that madness, but he still wants to watch the world burn, at least a little.
And let's imagine the other members of the League agree with that. They don't want to destroy it all. But how can they even scape AFO's shadow? How can they defeat the heroes too?
That's when Shouto begins his plan along class 1-A to expose the corruption within the hero system to change it all, while finding a way to help Tomura defeat AFO.
And at the center of the chaos, the Todorokis making sure to protect Dabi at all cost.

BNHA chapter 290 reactions
Oh boy, just when I was saying that such a long arc was eroding my ability to hype myself...
Oh boy... I guess we finally got the answer to “Was that message for Rei or for the whole country?” and the answer is both. Dabi sent a direct message to his mom and we don’t know what he told her.
And since we have a big close-up on the flower “Enji” gave Rei without leaving a message, I am now wondering if it wasn’t a gift from Dabi.
Ah, the Todoroki pose of “I have no idea of what to feel.”
Also, I think we now have the confirmation that Dabi is a theater kid.
Okay, so first, it’s nice to have the confirmation that Izuku did make some damages.
What’s less nice is knowing that AFO can control Tomura to this extent. By accepting to become a guinea pig, he became AFO’s puppet and I am not sure of how long it will take before AFO erodes his will and takes full control of him.
Horikoshi, think of the fanfic writers. When you show cool attacks, explain stuff about them, please. Because of you, I will have to spend an hour trying to analyze three panels.
Oh, that’s a meme waiting to happen.
Endeavor when Nejire and Shouto fight Shigaraki: “RUN! HE’S GOING TO KILL YOU! RUN!”
Endeavor when Midoriya was fighting Shigaraki: “Welp, this might as well happen.”
I don’t know what’s the more terrifying, Gigantomachia channeling the Rogue Titan or AFO having fun with Forced Quirk Activation. Okay, probably the later.
There should really be a limit to how long those tentacles can get, thank you very much.
Bakugou is awake and if I was him, I would go straight back to sleep but no, not him.
Does... Does he still have a quirk, though? I would like to see some sparks flying. Just to be sure.
However, he is right in the sense that they need to kill Shigaraki now. If he manages to escape, they will have lost everything. That would mean that another cataclysm can happen at any time and society will collapse. I am not talking about the hero society. I am talking full Dawn of Quirks mess.
I do not want to witness what so many people with uncontrollable powers can do when they are scared.
I am going to believe that Machia assumes that the second “Master’s scent” also comes from Shigaraki because with all the smoke in the air, he didn’t notice Izuku and his multiple quirks who are right there.
Also, Izuku wasn’t using cough... all for one... cough several quirks when Gigantomachia arrived, don’t think I didn’t notice it.
I was robbed from my Little Lord moment!
Shigaraki, every bones of his broken and the only reason why he remained standing so long is probably because AFO was manipulating his strings: “Oh, do tell me about your problems. It’s not like I can go anywhere after I was INCINERATED THEN BEATEN HALF TO DEATH BY THE INCARNATION OF FERALNESS. But please, tell me how hard it was for you.”
The small green child with broken bones isn’t named Shouto, Endeavor.
More seriously, you see Endeavor’s hand on Midoriya’s back? He isn’t checking that he is alright, he is actually holding him back because he is scared he is going to yeet himself again at the villains and try to finish the job.
That’s why you never make promises on live television. Too many witnesses that will call you out later.
Shouto is so fucking done at this point. He just survived a decaying wave, he showed up only to see all the heroes and his friends half dead, he almost got slapped by Gigantomachia, this is NOT the day to keep messing with him, and here is this asshole, all happy during the worst time of Shouto’s life.
As for Dabi... This man is hilarious. Look at how happy he is. His audience is here, too weakened to kick his ass, and now is the time.
Also, you see the bottle he is shaking? That was in the pouch he has been wearing since his first appearance. He was ready from Day 1.
Now, the riddle for the ages, the thing that interests me far more than what happens one panel later: what the hell is this and how did it bleach his hair so fast?
What am I hearing? Oh yes, the sound of ALL THE DABI IS A TODOROKI BEING VALIDATED RIGHT NOW. CONGRATULATIONS, FUNKY LITTLE CONSPIRACY THEORISTS. MAY KNOWING THAT YOU WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG MAKE YOU LIVE LONGER.
Whatever you’re thinking about Dabi, you have to admit that he knows how to use a narrative. He has been sitting on this for years, waiting for the right time to do the most damage, and here he is.
Let’s all appreciate this rare moment where Shouto and Enji have the same face of “What the hell is going on?”
But more importantly, let’s all appreciate Midoriya who was once again dragged into the Todoroki drama.
This has nothing to do with him, and yet, once again, a Todoroki appeared and felt the need to announce his entire tragic backstory in his vicinity. All those jokes about Todoroki never meeting Izuku because he would have coughed up his secret in the second were true.
Dabi looks so soft here and some part of me wants to believe that’s because he knew Rei would be watching.
And by that, I mean Dabi is a Momma boy.
I am bravely trying to keep a straight face as this guy is about to explain us why he killed 30 innocent people instead of his dad or some members of the Hero Commission.
I mean, Fuyumi managed not to snap despite many reasons, so really, there is no excuse.
More seriously, I hope that he won’t only reveal what Endeavor did. I want to know why he was considered dead. And I want to know if my theory about Touya being in the same HSPC program as Hawks is true, because there has to be a reason why he knows his real name.
Of course, for the last one, I can accept that Young Touya found a drawing of Endeavor and a young kid with red wings sent by a little fan through the Endeavor agency.
But I would much prefer to see more about the HPSC and how horrible it is.
The real victim of this chapter: Can’t-You-See-kun.
Look at how happy he is. I am pretty sure this is the best day of his life.
@pocketramblr is the one who realized that Horikoshi had to knock Dabi unconscious in Kamino because that man would have jumped on the occasion of screaming to the world who he really is, only to see society freak out.
There is 50% chance that AFO would have killed him for being more dramatic than him but, man, what a way to go.
*squints* Is that his hair becoming white due to the strain?
I am... actually not surprised by it. Dabi doesn’t know Shouto. And he isn’t Touya anymore.
The only thing Shouto is to him is Endeavor’s weapon to become number 1 and the child that stole his place and who made all his pain meaningless.
Endeavor: “Redemption arc?”
Dabi: “Hahaha NO. Step 1 of my plan where you get everything you want right before I make you choke on it.”
This is nothing short of breathtaking and once again, Horikoshi steals my breath away.
Make no mistake: Touya is dead. He died a long time ago. Only remains a rageful ghost hold together by hatred and staples. He will not hesitate to sacrifice anything to destroy Endeavor, be it himself, others, and even members of his family.
I have about zero regret for Endeavor but the rest of the Todoroki family? Dabi just took a sledgehammer to that and now, they will all have to live with the consequences.
Kudos to Dabi, though. He did what All for One didn’t manage to do. He wanted to ruin the number 1, to show that he was a liar and how pitiful he was. All for One failed to do so when he revealed All Might’s true form but Dabi executed that plan perfectly.
The other really good point about this is that no one will care about Izuku using multiple quirks. With how Dabi stole the show, Shigaraki will be lucky if people still talk about him.

Can I request headcanons for Bakugou, Shinsou and Deku where they like someone who can be very honest and blunt so sometimes their comments might come off as an accidental roast or maybe they didn't read the room and didn't sugarcoat something they said? It was never out of malice, but they don't have a filter if you know what I mean?
Their Blunt S/o
Pairings: Bakugo x reader, Izuku x reader, Shinso x reader
Warnings: a lil’ obscenities, one la ganja joke.
A/n: Sorry for the long wait. I myself is quite blunt but I didn’t want the reader to be completely mean 😭 I hope you like it!!
Taglist: @goatsenpaiultimate @sunset-novice-writer
💥 Really loves how you smoke everyone with your blunt ass (huehuehue marijuana joke)
💥 He’s usually on the same wavelength as you; you two are both crude, poison-laced tongue individuals.
💥 But you don’t mean any harm at times while Katsuki does.
💥 The first time you guys met was when he was talking about how he’ll destroy Midoriya during the first quirk test of the class.
💥 The scene was taking up all the time in the day and you were hungry. So you intervened. “Just get on with it. You’re wasting everyone’s time here Atomic Blonde.”
💥 I made that joke already just leave me alone
💥 He turned around, ready to light your ass on fire however Aizawa wrapped him up like a mummy before he could reach you.
💥 Really despised you for a while. Mans is upset because you don’t care about what comes out your mouth and you’re always pointing out some flaws in his technique or personality.
💥 But the miracle happens that he saw how your comments actually pushed him to perform better in both school work and training.
💥 Thus you are integrated in the Bakusquad! 🥳
💥 He loves your presence, eyeing you while you both help the rest in the frequent study sessions, Laughing when you comment on Denki’s lame pick up lines and Kirishima’s clumsy ass.
💥 When it’s his turn, he goes all dramatic with it to keep your attention on him. Once your eyes land on him, he intends to keep them there by any means necessary. The usual strategy is to tease and start a roast session that becomes a staple in your everyday lives.
💥 He really appreciates how you treat him differently than everyone else.
💥 So when everyone was pitying him after his kidnap and the battle of All Might vs AFO. He was so frustrated.
💥 The day he arrived to school, everyone was willing to do everything for him: hold his bag, get him lunch and other offers that made him seem helpless.
💥 So the day when everyone was in the lounge room and Kirishima offered to take his suitcase upstairs, you decided to say a few words.
💥 “Why are you doing that? He’s not a fucking baby. Stop treating him like a limping wolf.” You then turned to Bakugo. “And you, we get it. Your backbone is strong and you hate being helpless but sometimes you need fucking help both physically and mentally so be an actual man and actually fucking talk instead of blabbering all this unphased bullshit.”
💥 Dead silence dissipated all the nonsensical talk in the room before Bakugo stormed off, a shadow casted over his brow as his fingers creaked under its own force to remain fisted.
💥 As soon as he left, Tsuyu turned to you criticising your approach even though it was true. But the truth hurts and you believe everyone should deal with the pain 🤷🏽♀️ cmon bad bitch
💥 Arrived at your door after the whole brawl with Midoriya, jaw puffed and red coordinating with a nasty gash on his arm. You dragged him in, berating his choices on releasing his emotions like a neanderthal. Among the constant scolds, he silenced you with a simple sentence.
💥 “I’m sorry. You were right and I need to talk to someone.”
💥 The night consisted of him talking about his life, insecurities and fears while attempting to compose his emotions. With a little push, all the feelings he kept where released to the wild, for the better.
💥 Now he has a whole new meaning for liking you.
🥦 Little baby boy can hardly withstand your bluntness
🥦 Attempts to be your translator if someone takes your words wrong.
🥦 Your critiques aren’t the nicest so Midoriya fills that gap in.
He’s always as flabbergasted as the receiver of your comments. His verdant eyes widened grandly and as he inhales a sharp gasp. After the shock he turns to the person with apprehension, letting your intentions be known in a softer version than it was given.
🥦 “Tenya, don’t ever try to make breakfast again. The eggs were shit like how did you even burn the water?” Midoriya quickly jumped in, waving his hands erratically to ensure no harm. “S-she meant that your eggs were—ehm— had a little saltiness to them and also to try keep the fire to—uh m-medium?”
🥦 Scared that someone will beat your ass over something you said but that isn’t no problem because that mouth comes with a good pair of hands.
🥦 But he really admires your sharp tongue and frank mind. Unlike hisself, you plough through all nervous talks and thoughts, making your thoughts as clear as day.
🥦 But he’s not excluded from any harsh comments.
🥦 After figuring out why he almost missed the talent show, you laid it on thick.
🥦”Are you completely nuts? Couldn’t you wait on Rappa or I don’t know call someone from up here to get security? You really just love to throw yourself in trouble, don’t you?”
🥦 Ngl, it did sting a little but whatever Izuku believed he did right, he will forever be proud of it. Aside from that, he is hurt that you thought his actions were irrational.
🥦 Noticing his frown and glossy eyes, you quickly apologised, not intending to ridicule his actions.
🥦 “Izuku, I...I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you like that. I was just really worried and I care for you a lot.”
🥦 If he was close to crying from before he’s in tears now. His blush ignited his face as his mind mulled over your confession.
🥦 He accepted your apology and as his heart couldn’t take anymore blatant affection from a girl, you hugged him, hugged him.
🥦 And that’s how Midoriya fell even more hopelessly in love with you.
 The tired baby boy
🎆 He is also blessed with the ability to be brash, although it is underhanded.
🎆 but he definitely noticed how brash you were when he confronted Class 1A before the sports festival.
🎆 The tension between Bakugo and the students outside palpable, the mixture of agitation and unease stifled the air everyone breathed until you trod to the door.
🎆 “Are you boys done with your little intimidation battle? Because I have an anime to binge watch and I’d rather not have it wait any longer.” You then turned to Shinso.
🎆 “By the way your hair is really cute.”
🎆 You left everyone gobsmacked as you passed through the crowd without fail, as if you didn’t even interrupt a brewing clash a second ago. But no one was as gobsmacked as Shinso who was blushing from the compliment.
🎆 Ever since, your bluntness has not wavered even after becoming friends with him through Kaminari and Sero.
🎆 You obviously showed you liked him. Your frank attitude included being downright honest in your attraction to him and others.
🎆 Exhaustion clouded his eyes heavily as he walked past your lunch table filled with Class 1A’s girls talking about their fears for the future. Mina’s almost drawn to tears about the upcoming math test as Uraraka consoled her worries.
🎆 Everyone was nervous, anxiety wore on their face and through the sounds of nail biting from Hagakure.
🎆 As soon as the mind control quirk wielder caught your eye, you couldn’t stop yourself from talking.
🎆 “Shinsou is so handsome. And he’s getting quite buff judging by how his shirt was constricting from before. Don’t you guys think?”
🎆 Your comment was loud enough to reach the by-passer, who blushed at the sudden compliment. His hand naturally travelled to the nape of his neck, soothing his own embarrassment as the table’s eyes, in particular yours, laid on him, waiting on his response.
🎆 “Why t-thank you, (Y/n)” He nodded in acknowledgment of your compliment and then walked briskly off to his own table.
🎆 Mina turned towards you as he was out of ear range. “Have you no shame?! I was crying about my grades before you suddenly wanted to say Shinso was hot.”
🎆 Everybody started saying how random and sudden you were before you shrugged your shoulders.
🎆 “A girl knows what she likes.”
🎆 Shinso eventually warms up to your sudden compliments and impartial bluntness
🎆 The two of you were eventually called a“pair of blunt knives” by Kaminari.
🎆 Doesn’t matter, it’s a cute couple name ☺️.

pls give us your thoughts on 295, queen 🥺!((thankies in advance if you decide to do this!))
hello, hello!
i waited to answer this until the official translation released, just for ease of reading & even though there are always things that are missed, in any translation, it is the one that will be published & is accepted as the “real” dialogue.
warnings: below there be spoilers for BNHA 295. no touch if you don’t wanna see
m’kay
this latest chapter felt a lot like a: HEY, HEY TIME TO GET READY TO WRAP IT ALL UP IN A NEAT LIL’ BOW - which i am like, ugh, thank GOD. this war arc has dragggged at times and i wanna break, please.
so, with that in mind, we’re seeing the scrabbling of the heroes and the villains on the battlefield. each are doing their best to prevent the others from gaining the upper hand & most of the early players are too hurt to really make much of a difference.
distressingly, it’s also looking like Compress, Toga, Skeptic and Machia are all about to be abandoned.
this isn’t Tomura’s idea & personally, and it feels more like a punishment of AFO’s tbh, plus, i don’t think Tomura would have left them. i’m not 100% sure of this, but he’s seemed very determined to stay and fight to the last.
both in the battle itself:
and in the dreamscape of AFO:
the biggest moments in the chapter, for me, are Compress’ sacrifice and the replacement of Nana’s hand on Tomura’s face
if i’m honest, this replacement of the hand feels like a regression. it’s honing in on Tomura’s suppression and hurt under the power of AFO and negating all of the character growth that we’ve seen in him thus far. in Deika City, we watched him destroy Father and say that the hold of those hands don’t mean anything to him, even going so far as to call them “unnecessary.” in that moment, he was literally liberated from the power that they’ve held over him.
also, to me, the hands are a tool of AFO’s to manipulate and control Tomura’s feelings. even when Spinner is replacing the hand over his face, he recalls Tomura saying that they make him feel both sick and calm. they aren’t there for his benefit, they’re there to placate his turbulent feelings and urges, to make him someone who is dependent, rather than independent.
we also see AFO take back over Tomura’s body. it’s not Tomura who’s calling for the Nomu & opting to dip with only Spinner, who AFO calls a decent ally, and marble Dabi, it’s AFO. he also notes that the more Tomura embraces the hatred in his heart, the easier it is for AFO to take control
however, i don’t know what the fallout of this choice of abandonment is going to look like. AFO’s decision is what is easy, not something that is planned, or well thought out. he’s pulling back because it’s what’s best for AFO, not Tomura. if he wants Tomura’s body to remain pristine, to remain usable, he needs to get the fuck outta’ dodge, now.
the one plus to all of this, and something that i was very excited to see, is Izuku’s response to Tomura’s retreat. he knows that this man has done terrible things & i liked that he acknowledged that fact, but he also knows it’s AFO talking with him at the end, not Tomura, and he really wants to save him from this fucked up situation.
i love, love, love that Izuku is seeing, and acknowledging, the need of Tomura. he’s honestly the first one who has. All Might felt the obligation after the USJ, when he was told of his parentage, but was asked to stand down, and GT has completely ignored the redeemability of Tomura the entire series. but Izuku isn’t looking away from the man who has been hurt and manipulated his entire life & that note alone gives me a lot of hope for these characters.
i’m not saying that Tomura would want to be saved at this point, or that he should just be able to drift back into society, in fact, i would be disappointed if he did go for that route. Tomura’s never done things the easy way and he’s worked hard for each step he’s taken, i don’t think it would be in his character to shirk from that & i would be so sad if he did.
no, to me, Tomura is right & hero society needs to change. but to start that change, they need to listen & right now, Izuku is listening.
thanks for coming to my crumby TED talk and thanks for the ask nonnie! i love chatting about this manga and all of its ups and downs!

Top Ten MHA War Arc Moments (So Far)
Man guys, this arc has been insane. Like, I don’t think I’ve ever read an arc this busy, plot-heavy and batshit crazy in anything else in my entire life. So many crazy moments, and I’m gonna try and capture my Current Top 10 here today:
#10. TOGA VS OCHAKO
I was annoyed for a long time that Ochako’s screwup, her moment of hestiation at training camp, would never have any direct consequences - or at least not ones she’d ever hear about. Toga had only used her blood to help save Eri. But now she knows. Now she knows her power was used to kill - and she’s being invited to sympathize with the killer in a dramatic confrontation where villain asks a hero if they could see them as a person too. It’s a little lower here since there was the usual shipping nonsense to contend with first, but nonethelss.
#9. TEAM LEADER MOMOKAMIJIROU
More like two separate moments, namely Jirou encouraging Kaminari and Midnight electing Momo the new team leader, which she takes to with her usual grace and badassery. This trio just gets each other, and while this moment (aside from Midnight’s incapacitation) may not be as shocking as the others on the list, it still ranks highly for me in my recollections of the arc, especially as all Class A and B unite. Speaking of....
#8. KIRISHIMA AND MINA VS GIGANTOMACHIA
Now that is how you do some setup and payoff. Years ago, it was Mina who bravely ran to face the villain and Kirishima who hesitated. This time, it’s Mina’s fear that stops her, and Kirishima’s willingness to jump into danger that saves the day. Of course, it didn’t do much in the end, but that payoff to the emotional relationship setup in previous chapters...it’s something this arc does really well in callbacks to Chapter 1. Maybe another one might pop up on this list.
#7. GRAN TORINO’S DEATH
The second death of an established major character in this arc, and it’s just as brutal and depressing as the first. Those Shimura flashbacks. Deku going batshit crazy on Shigaraki after this scene. The loss of one of the most likeable characters in the show. The actual death of a major, recurring heroic character in the narrative and the way that raises the stakes. Just...dammit. Why characters gotta die this way?
#6. MIRUKO LOSES AN ARM
Miruko’s en tire fight against the high-ends basically goes here; all of her head-severing efforts will never be forgotten,as this entire visceral, brutal and bloody battle between the #5 and the most OP villains seen so far will be etched into the collective fandom’s memory. And the outcome where she loses an arm...it’s not the highest ranked dismemberment on the list but hey, if Miruko can keep trucking with one arm there’s some hope Deku can too.
#5. ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL
It’s weird that what should feel like the most important plot thing in this arc (Final Villain vs MC) is oddly only #5. But yeah, a battle in the center of Shigaraki and Deku’s minds as the two powers link and duke it out for the fate of the world, OFA Primo saving Midoriya from losing his power even if his arms are dead now - and Shigaraki rebelling against AFO, that was definitely cool and worth seeing.
#4. TWICE’S DEATH & HAWKS’ MAIMING
FUCKING MURDERED TWICE. started the arc by FUCKING MURDERING TWICE.
#3. AIZAWA DISMEMBERED
The other dismemberment on the list. The permanent incapacitation of one of THE main characters. It was brilliantly executed, shocking and visceral (and I missed it on my first readthrough like an idiot), and leaves the most troublingly OP character in the series permanently left on the sidelines at least a little. I mean, you wouldn’t think we’d find a Main Character having their limbs brutally dismembered shocking at this point but that’s how it is.
2. “MY BODY MOVED BEFORE I COULD THINK”
“HOW THE HELL IS THIS NOT #1?” you may be asking. Well before I explain let’s talk about this scene. Nobody can wreck me quite like these two. My two favorite characters, my favorite relationship in the whole show, a callback to the moment that started it all - the scene that hooked me into MHA and still remains just as powerful all these years later. Bakugou throwing himself into near death to save Izuku. I was in a state of shock for days after reading this chapter (hell, even before thanks to the leaks) and I still am not over it. When this scene hits the anime I will probably be completely destroyed.
So what on earth could possibly top THAT scene?! What could this arc have possibly pulled off that was even better than all these fated matchups, character deaths, character maimings, OTP dreams coming true and again, my favorite characters wrecking me for all time? Well, only one thing.
1. “COME DANCE WITH YOUR SON HERE IN HELL”
We all knew this was coming and it was still better than we could have ever imagined. Picture Hori watching all our frantic fan theories and maybe having this scene up his sleeve the whole time. This scene is basically IT; the fall of hero society, the final curtain, the biggest bombshell. Moreso than any scene of Shigaraki using his quirk, you can feel as this scene plays out the sheer sense of crumbling decay. Each panel, each inexorable shot that plays out this reveal and its execution, you feel the strokes in a master plan as the entire foundation of the series cracks and spools about your feet. This scene was such a big deal it apparently out-trended the US election the week it came out. For that alone - and everything else in this moment, 200+ chapters in the making - it deserves to be this arc’s #1. (unless something else is coming that can top it, holy crap).

Author ask, MGM 9
9: are there any alternate versions of this fic?
Funny you should ask that because in many ways, this was an alternate fic. I had another fic I had been stewing over which I realized recently that MGM killed because I had gutted it for the best bits.
The story was to be called something along the lines of “the boy behind locked doors” and it was going to be a mysterious, haunted little short chaptered story. It opened with Izuku on Yuuei’s campus watching students coming in opening day. He is not in uniform, he is not one of them. Izuku and Inko live on campus, both protected and prisoners because of something that happened in the past. They’ve been here for years, he’s forgotten what the sun is like. He goes back to a small apartment tucked in the back of Yuuei where the door immediately locks. We never see his perspective again for the rest of the story.
The story picks up with various members of 1A as USJ takes place on the main campus in place of the event where Shiggy destroys the gate. The LOV makes it clear they’re looking for something, or someone. While escaping deeper into the school they come across a boy trying to get back into a locked room. He’d snuck out to see the kids and gotten locked out. He freezes upon seeing the students.
They drag him away from approaching villains but he’s pale and skittish and won’t let them touch him. He’s not a student but he’s not a villain, he just lives here. As the chapters go one, the students (I had Iida, Ochako, Todo and Momo) find more and more weird things about the boy who only calls himself Izuku. They’re repeatedly cornered by villains and they learn Izuku is the one they want, who they came for. It’s also revealed this Izuku, who initially claimed to be quirkless, has two industrial strength quirk suppressors on him.
He lies and cries and avoids their gaze as they grow more and more unsettled about their companion. He relents finally and admits he has a quirk, was given a dangerous quirk, and locked away to avoid being used for evil. He’s so frightened of what he could become that he happily sequesters himself away but sometimes he sneaks out and imagines he too is a happy hero student. They feel for him.
Izuku decides to help fight and he decides he could help. A combo of the four manage to get one cuff off and the difference in power is absurd. He asks for help getting the second cuff off, they hesitate. They don’t actually know him all that well. What if he was just using them to help him with the cuffs. They run into Shiggy who is here to take Izuku back to Sensei. The kids fight but Izuku still doesn’t have his quirk with one cuff on. He can’t get it off alone except... {{TRIGGER WARNING SELF HARM}} Momo made a long blade and Izuku realizes what he has to do. He leaves and when he comes back, his cuff is off and his whole hand is bloody. The hand doesn’t look right either, like it had just been regrown. {{END TRIGGER}}
That’s when Izuku unleashes his quirk on Shiggy which is actually, all the quirks. He positively destroys the man who had tortured him as a child when he’d been stolen from his mom and given AFO the quirk. Sensei loaded him up with more and more quirks. He’d been groomed to be AFOs successor and Shiggy hadn’t liked it until izuku had been rescued. Izuku is uncontrollably powerful, terrifying but once Shiggy is down, he goes back to being sweet and shy and scared.
They make it outside where the Noumu is let loose. Its going after kids without abandon and Izuku, who knows what its like to suffer with so many quirks stuffed into your head against your will, peels off it’s quirks one by one. It goes for one of the students and Izuku takes the hit for them, stealing its last quirk as it destroys Izuku. Luckily he’s able to piece himself back together. The battle is done but the fight is not over.
Aizawa and the younger teachers are l i v i d. How long has this family been locked on campus, soul sucking cuffs draining the life out of the kid. Nedzu and the older teachers in the know say it had been for the best. That AFO would come after his chosen successor. They needed to hide him again. The kids fight back, despite his abuse, Izuku had proven himself a good person and a good hero. He deserved to be a student, he deserved to actually live outside of the fear others imposed on him. They win eventually and Izuku is inducted into 1-A. He’s terrified, skinny and deathly pale with scars on his hands and years without human contact. But he feels the sun on his skin and sees the smiles of his new classmates and feels like he can do this.
AFO is bitterly lamenting that the attack to recover his son (who had not been given AFO teh quirk but had been born with it which AFO delighted in and kidnapped him for) but now that Izuku was free, more opportunities would arise.
Phew that was a lot. As you can see, this was mostly mapped out but then Covid hit and I took a lot of MGM from this (the suppression cuffs, OP Izuku afraid of his power, being locked away by HC/UA, villains trying to steal him). It also, by total accident as I hadn’t read it at the time of planning, resembled Butterfly a bit too much for me to comfortable with.
Anyway so it was kind of nice to finally lay this whole thing out. If I’d had the choice I would’ve chosen this over MGM which started off as a crack idea whilst this was a darker, mystery story with a concrete end. Ah I’ll write my creepy mystery one of these days.
#this got long#apologies#I really did like this idea but yeah MGM killed it#it was very cathartic to write this all out#Anonymous

13, 15, 18?
I would like to rename this ask game “Lar Has No Ability To Chill When Answering These Questions”.
13. Character you liked at first, but no longer do?
This one might make me lose points with some folks but...
Canon Recovery Girl.
And I know. I know that my issues with her relate to my rant on the other ask I got for this about things that are excused for plot. But it makes me so incredibly uncomfortable that Izuku’s only source of medical attention at UA told him she would no longer treat certain types of injuries as a way to force him to learn a better way to use his quirk.
Like I get it! He was destroying his body and that’s bad! But Izuku is a child. Who was given a quirk that damages his body when he doesn’t use it the right way, and at that point he had like, no guidance on how to use it safely. Threatening to take medical care away from a child who has shown self sacrificing and reckless behavior is just. So incredibly foolish and cruel and dangerous. Let alone like. Definitely not in line with the whole do no harm as a doctor thing??? So yeah. Loved her at first, don’t really like her anymore.
15. Least favorite quirk?
Oho I’m gonna have a lot of fun with this one. So for the upcoming chapters in Rebel, I’ll be writing Magne, and I knew I wanted to redesign her character. I also wanted to make sure I had a good grasp on her quirk. And y’all. Y’all let me tell you.
I loathe Magne’s quirk.
The actual function? Love it. But the specifics? Hate. What I hate is that Magne’s quirk assigns magnetic polarity based on whether someone is a man or a woman.
At first that doesn’t sound that bad, until you really dive into it and think about it. Like first of all, we’re placing either sex or gender on a binary here when neither are, which is an issue. But even if we push past that, there are still so many problems.
For example, is this polarity assignment supposed to be based on sex or gender? Either the quirk works based on sex, in which case it may not align with someone’s gender (which would have the trans character out here like, actively devaluing gender identity), or it works based on gender, which still has issues bc of the whole binary thing and the idea that the quirk inherently must know someone’s gender identity. Either one is suuuuper problematic. Especially because her quirk conveniently doesn’t work on herself, a trans woman.
And like maybe I’m putting too much thought into this but that’s kind of just my whole vibe at this point, but there are no good routes here. Because either:
1. Magne somehow knows everyone’s sex or gender and that’s how she’s able to use her quirk effectively in combat OR
2. She doesn’t, but her quirk somehow still does??? And she’s just out there guessing and assuming?
Like basically. The transgender character is out here with a quirk that apparently knows sex or gender, and with a combat style that would rely on her knowing or assuming sex or gender. The sheer amount of transphobia in that is ASTOUNDING. And I don’t know if it was intentional, I really don’t, but I don’t have a lot of hope here. Magne’s whole design is An Entire Problem, and when you add this quirk on top of her design I’m. I’m at a loss here. There are no good reasons for polarity to be assigned based on sex or gender. Absolutely none. It would have been easy to make it based on literally anything else. Height or weight range, age, user’s choice with limitations, ANYTHING. And that’s why I don’t have a lot of room for forgiveness here, because on top of the transphobia in her design, that was the choice made for this part of her quirk.
18. Favorite fight?
I have a feeling that once I watch season 4 I might have a different answer for this, but for now I think my answer is the Kamino fight between All Might and All for One. Mostly because it is fascinating as a fight. It’s actually kind of...slow? But it’s heavy, and it’s when we finally get to see AFO and watch him interact with All Might. And it’s one of the best scenes we have for analyzing AFO and interpreting his character.
A close second is the USJ fight, because that was when I got seriously hooked on the show. BNHA is the first anime I’ve seen, so I didn’t have other anime shows for comparison, but compared to a lot of other action movies and shows, the USJ fight really did get me invested in the action and had me on the edge of my seat. Especially since I was super new to it and had no knowledge at all of how the fight was going to go. It was a welcome change from repetitive and boring fights in live action movies.
Thank you for sending these, I was especially glad for the chance to share my opinions about Magne’s quirk! I’ll have some coming your way soon, just gotta decide on some numbers 💛💛💛

BNHA rambles (part 18)
Here comes episode 9, which is one I’ve been waiting for:
-Uraraka ! Uraraka !Uraraka !
-She’s so nervous but she’s ready to be the best she can be
-Ouch! That was violent
- I first thought that Jirou’s covering her ears as a reaction of the attack was bc she was scared but then I remembered she has enhanced hearing. Bakugo’s quirk must be a nightmare for her
-I know Tsuyu is a girl too so I won’t say anything about her saying it, but as it is something that’s repeated in the episode, I hate that they want Bakugo to go easy on Uraraka bc she’s a girl. Should Bakugo learn some self-control? Yes absolutely. His attack are most of the time (for now at least) way too destructive in general, and he should learn to lessen that. Should he hold back bc Uraraka’s a girl? No. She chose to be here, she chose (and reaffirm her wants) to figth. Bakugo giving less than his best would be an insult towards her
-Uraraka fight really smart, but she lack the training and the speed she needs to pull it of
-Maybe I should count the number of time I want to punt Mineta into the sun, make it a work out? It would be really efficient
-Okay, I agree that it hurt to watch, but booing Bakugo is really fucking hurtful and so fuck those guys. I mean yes the boy is violent, but you don’t boo him like that on an important fight. (+ it’s also really demeaning for Uraraka too)
-Dadzawa to the rescue! And tearing into the man (as well as elbowing Mic for agreeing) and defending BOTH of his students. He knows them, knows what they can do, and won’t let anyone disrespect them.
-Monoma! Had! Noticed! Her! Plan! (+ acknowledging it’s a smart strategy)
-Okay but that amount of rubbles floating is really impressive
-Aizawa had noticed too!
-Bakugo’s hurt himself while exploding that
-Izuku is Uraraka symbol of victory, and I love it
-She’s so exhausted it hurt
-Once again how does no one realize how terrified Izuku is of Bakugo? (I know no one saw this specific interaction but still). Also, him standing up to his bully when it comes to his friends give me life
-I hate that they call Bakugo’s actions as him ‘playing the villain’
-and calling Uraraka a ‘frail girl’. She. Is. Not! And she could kick your ass no pb
-Uraraka faking being okay hurt more than her showing she’s upset
-Tetsutetsu and Kirishima manly bromance
-Uraraka, my girl, my queen, please, you did so good! Don’t concentrate on the negative please
-Supportive dad! I love it. My poor girl, it’s going to be okay
-What is it with those kids and beating themselves down
-Once again, and all together: fuck Endeavor
-Go Izuku! He’s ready to destroy that man whole carrier!
-OMG Uraraka’s face XD
-Once again the villain are watching the Sport festival… (+AFO being creepy)
-Inko having used so many tissue already (she’s so not ready for what happens next)
This episode was so good I loved it! I’m going to post a special rambles going more in depth on my thought of the fight (I’ll probably do the same for Izuku vs Shoto and Shoto vs Bakugo) . I’m so excited for the next episode!
Anyway, like every times questions and suggestion for rambles as well as other are more than welcome in my inbox
Aya’s out

I’m a Scholar, Not a Knight!: Pt 1
This is one of two winning story idea of my Birthday Story Giveaway! The sender of this story idea is none other than @amynchan! Congrats!
D/C: I do not own My Hero Academia.
A/N: Unbetaed.
---
Fandom: My Hero Academia
Main Characters: Izuku Midoriya, Ochaco Uraraka, Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugo, Eijiro Kirishima and Toshinori Yagi
Ships: Izuku x Ochaco, Katsuki x Eijiro, Shoto x Momo
Genre: Friendship, adventure and Fantasy. Romance is in the back burner.
Au: Fantasy Au, Sassy!Izuku.
Summary: Izuku knew he wanted to become more than a simple peasant. He plans on becoming a scholar. A simple scholar that is repeatedly being told otherwise. Somehow, he found himself in the company of a retired knight, a squire, a witch-in-training, a runaway prince, a barbarian king, a human/dragon hybrid and a frog shifter... All of whom start to assume he’s the Lost Hero of Legend. Yeah... there goes his goal of becoming a scholar.
Izuku grinned at his opponent, not being bothered to notice how his legs shook relentlessly. He knew he could die fighting against his opponent and shouldn’t be grinning, but that is the least of his worries. Power surged throughout him before he focused it on his sword, his grin grew a green light envelop his weapon.
With a battle cry, Izuku marched forward to face off against his strongest opponent yet. There’s no turning back at this point. To think that at one point in his life, he had thought of doing something safe for the rest of his life… like a scholar!
Yeah… a scholar…
Toshinori knew he doesn’t have long to look for his successor. His power is leaving him since his battle against AFO, his body just has not been able to take on the power of OFA. Even if the battle had ended in his favor, he still ended up losing. Losing organs and the ability to stay in his other form has shortened tremendously, he’s still surprised at the fact he managed to stay alive for this long.
Taking in a deep breath, Toshinori continued walking on a dirt road that leads to a small town where he is to meet with a close friend of his. Nothing out of the norm really, he just wishes his horse didn’t run off on him… again.
“Hey! This is a toll road, old man!”
Toshinori really wished he had taken the backroads; he should have known better than to take the main road. Bandits would often make up toll roads to harass anyone that crosses paths with them. “Could we talk about thi-”
“Either pay up willingly, or we’ll take whatever you have by force. Your choice?” One of the bandits sneered, making a point to placing his hands on his battle-ax strapped to his back.
‘Great…’ Toshinori grumbled into himself. Even if he does turn around and leave, they’ll just going to try and kill him. Either way, he’s a dead man. Ironic really considering he’s already a dead man walking. Still, he still has some life in him and he still needs to find a successor! If it means having to deal with these lowlifes, then so be it. Leaving them alive to only have them harass or even possibly kill others, is not an option. “I would advise to you pack your things and leave… you don’t want to fight me.”
“Oh, like you have the power to fight us!” Another bandit laughed aloud, causing all the bandits, around thirty or so of them. At this point, many of them began to surround Toshinori, drawing out their weapons. “Now, are you going to make this easy for us?”
“Hey! Leave him alone!”
Toshinori turned around to see a young man running towards him, with a sword in hand. He couldn’t help but grin hearing those words. Turning around to see a familiar teen running towards him. “Young Midoriya!”
Izuku Midoriya came racing towards the group of bandits, brandishing his word warningly. “Get away from him! How many times do I have to tell you to stay out of trouble, Mr. Yagi!”
Toshinori twitched at Izuku’s words. Oh, so many times has the young man warned him to stay out of trouble. Not his fault that trouble follows him and what is the kid talking about! Izuku also gets in just as much trouble as himself! “Now is not the time for that, Young Midoriya!”
“Oh, do you want me to say it after you got beaten to death!”
“...Well then…”
-.-
Toshinori laughed awkwardly as he watched Izuku destroy the supposed toll booth the bandits had created. “I see you have been training with your sword, Young Midoriya.”
“Mom wouldn’t let me leave on my own if I wasn’t at least capable of using a sword, Mr. Yagi.” Izuku sassed the older male, with one final push, he destroyed the toll booth. Looking around to see the bodies of the bandits he had to kill off after they refused to run away, he wonders if he should at least give them a proper burial. Or at least take them away from view.
Eh, it’s not his problem, even if he’s the one that killed them they shouldn’t have been doing what they were doing. Highly illegal and Izuku is surprised they managed to get away with it so long considering what the found in the toll booth. That brings him back to reality when he turns around to see Toshinori staring at him… almo- “No. I told you one, I told you a hundred times over, I’m going to be a scholar. I have no plans on becoming a… knight.”
“Why be a scholar, it’s quite clear you have the ability to become a knight!” Toshinori gushed out before he coughs outs blood.
Izuku, mainly out of habit, offered him a handkerchief, before worrying over the fact Toshinori is coughing up blood. “I’m sorry, Mr. Yagi! becoming a knight isn’t in the cards. I’m sure you could find someone better than me!”
“It doesn’t hurt to ask again.” Toshinori laughed after getting over his coughing fit. “The offer will always stand.”
“And I will turn it down every time you ask, I’m afraid.” Izuku laughed uneasily. The offer, as mentioned before, is for the opportunity for him to become a knight. Not just any knight mind you. A Heroic Knights of the Realm. It is something everyone wants to be, what everyone strives to be. An honor and a curse, depends on who you ask really. At one point, Izuku wanted to become a Heroic Knight. He wanted to become a knight just like the Legendary Knight, Sir All Might. Something he at one point, strived to be. It’s one of the main reasons he picked up the sword at a young age… but… things changed.
How could he be a knight if he wasn’t even capable of saving his best friend?
It is better to take on a different path, one that he won’t be afraid to take. Thus, his goal to become a scholar was born. Now if he could convince people that is his actual goal in life, that will swell! Apparently people are still under the belief he’s a knight or a knight in training! That is not his goal in life, thank you very much!
“Young Midoriya, would you help me get to the next town?” Toshinori asks with a deep laugh.
Izuku looked away from him so that he could hide his tears. There’s no way he could leave Toshinori Yagi on his own. The man is a walking trouble magnet. He’ll probably be dead by the end of the day if he leaves him be on his own. On the flip side, this will only give people the impression he is a knight in training! After all, the man was once a knight himself before his health took a decline. People will question his future as a scholar! They will all thing he’s training to become a knight!
“Why is this so difficult!”
-.-
Izuku muttered to himself while he and Toshinori headed into a nearby town to stop to stock up in supplies. Along with the hopes of finding a place to stay for the night. The walk, by far, is uneventful. Sure, Izuku had to dispose of any bandits, mercenaries or anyone that wanted to mug or kill them. Nothing out of the norm.
“Are you sure you’re a scholar?” One random bandit asked as he is being tied up against a wooden sign. “What kind of scholar uses a sword?”
Izuku took in a deep breath through his nose. “Why does everyone ask me that?”
“Because you don’t look or act like one?” Another bandit pipped up, also tied to said wooden sign. “You a squire or man-at-arms? The blonde is your lord right?”
Izuku got really close to killing them before Toshinori managed to pull him away from the questioning bandits. Of course, they assume! What’s the point of telling them that he’s going to become a scholar! Not a knight! He’s not brave, strong, or even capable of doing anything a Knight would do! If he can’t even protect his best friend, what good is he? Being a knight… it requires to be someone that isn’t him. Anyone but him. “I just want to become a scholar! I want to learn history and make sure it doesn’t repeat itself! Is that so much to ask?”
Toshinori couldn’t help but laugh awkwardly as Izuku started to cry as the teen continued to mutter about how no one seems to believe his new path in life. He really can’t blame the kid for his most recent breakdown.
“Mr. Yagi, why do people keep thinking my dream of becoming a scholar is stupid?” Izuku sniffled into the back of his sleeve. “They keep going on and on about me becoming a knight! Or a guard! Anything but a scholar?”
“Maybe perhaps you keep beating everyone around?” Toshinori answered earnestly, this only got him a wail from Izuku. “
“I just want to be a scholar!!!!!”

Dabi (assuming he’s Touya), Twice, and Shigaraki
Dabi (Touya)
do I like them: hell yeah
5 good qualities: his design, the potential of him being touya already creates an incredibly interesting character to explore, the fact that the first thing he said when he saw shigaraki was “ew, this guy’s gross,” the obvious emotion he has under the cool attitude, and his dedication
3 bad qualities: he’s (while valid in many ways) an extremist, keeps delaying his reveal, and called Spinner a lizard which wasn’t cool
favourite episode/etc: I loved when he faced End*avor during the pro hero arc. I can’t remember another time when we saw him that expressive, and it really got me excited about his future personal battles.
otp: n/a
brotp: villain squad
ot3: n/a
notp: not really like a notp, but i don’t care about dabi/hawks
best quote: In response to Have you ever stopped to think about how their families feel?!: “I thought about it so hard, I went crazy.”
head canon: He’s got a personal mission to ominously full-name all the Todorokis. He’s already got Shouto and *nji down, so now he needs to figure out how he’s gonna fuck with Fuyumi in a way that doesn’t freak her out too much, then also Natsuo.
Twice
do I like them: pleasantly neutral
5 good qualities: hilarious, big ol’ heart, power of friendship and found family, his quirk’s rad, and he’s just here for a good time
3 bad qualities: really fuckin’ uncomfortable with toga, he’s a friendly dude but he’s still villainous so y’know, deceased status
favourite episode/etc: I was so proud of him during the villain arc when he created the Sad Man’s Parade, but my memory isn’t so great about specific moments, unfortunately
otp: n/a
brotp: his whole villain family is very important
ot3: n/a
notp: twice & toga
best quote: no specific quotes really come to mind, sorry!
head canon: rather than a headcanon, can I just have an AU where he didn’t die by Hawks?
Shigaraki
do I like them: that’s my horrible son
5 good qualities: his design is what made me watch the series, he’s constantly growing, he can be pretty accurate in his perceptions of people, there goes my baby off to destroy people, and he somehow manages to offer satisfying consequences to horrible people
3 bad qualities: crusty gamer gone Horribly Wrong, his previous reliance on people like AfO and Kurogiri to cover his failings, and he breaks my heart knowing his backstory
favourite episode/etc: Way in the beginning when he confronts Izuku at the mall. This scene continues to be one of the most terrifying in the entire series because he managed to threaten Izuku in plain sight without anyone noticing, and his whole attitude and mannerisms there really helped with establishing his character (never forget his segue “...So anyway, I hate everything.”)
otp: n/a
brotp: villain squad, but in a specific au, i love his potential friendship with Izuku
ot3: n/a
notp: shigaraki & izuku
best quote: “Your will is too strong, sensei. This is my power. My body. You don’t get to be some phantom voice whispering in my head. Back then, I thought about how the guy they call the “Lord of Evil” was defeated by the power of just one man. Don’t get me wrong-- I’m real grateful for how you raised me, but I don’t wanna be like you. I wanna be greater than you. So shut the hell up. I control myself.”
head canon: Life is suffering when you’re a disaster gamer on the go and keep accidentally almost destroying your handhelds. While he’s responsible about it to the point where he honestly doesn’t even think about always keeping his pinkies out, sometimes external forces make him come close.
#thanks so much for these anon!! some nice villains to spice it up#i love crispy lad and fuckhands mcmike#twice is a good time i just don't feel as creative with him unfortunately#anonymous#jest answers
