I don't smoke and I need a fucking cigarette. I need to lie down. I need to scream about this episode to anyone who will listen. I need absolutely no one to look at me or speak to me until my brain can process what I just watched.

Hey just realized how FUCKING CRAZY it is that Armand says he wouldn't let Daniel near his neck and then Daniel demands a "refill" almost likes he remembers Armand used to let him take shots right out of his jugular just at the point of climax to train him like Pavlov's dogs to be sexually and chemically addicted to drinking Armand's blood. Yeah I bet you need a refill you thirsty fucking freak.

"He loved it not because it looked like a gentle, thoughtful young man, but because it was ghastly and awful and loathsome, and beautiful all at the same time. He loved it the way people love evil, because it thrills them to the core of their souls." — The Queen of the Damned, Anne Rice.

IWTV EPISODE 5 SPOILERS
After watching episode 5 i hope we can all drop the “armand would do anything for louis” bullshit. I think this episode really showed how neither of them has real power over the other. Theyre just scrambling to feel some kind of control in their relationship dynamic. The whole “is that an order Maitre” was more for louis’ benefit to make him feel like he has in control over someones life, since he was so, for lack of a better term, useless, in claudias life.
They both use their dynamic to feel like they have some sort of control over the other as theyre both running away from things they had no power over. This companionship is more of a fucked up support group than anything else. I think the whole “is that an order Maitre?” was armand throwing Louis a bone and making him feel like the big guy when really armand didnt want to kill daniel, not really. He wanted to keep him alive bcos he was fascinated by the boy just as louis was.
If anything Armands use of speaking g to lestat and relaying it to louis was another show of power on his side. Nevermind the fact that louis doesnt even question it (i mean he was burnt to a crisp half out of his mind its understandable he was too weak minded to look into it. And also idt SF louis cared enough at the time to look into armands mind to confirm that. He truly thought he was too “dull” and “boring”) and i kind of think that armand has used the lestat card before…
Anyways i never rlly spoke of iwtv on this app before so maybe im wrong so dont hesitate to tell me so, but thats what i think

One thing that fascinates me about IWTV is how the characters' various traumas keep repeating in different permutations. A subtle one in this episode is Louis reenacting his family trauma with Armand, only this time, the roles are reversed.
After his speech about how dull Armand is, Louis gets right up into Armand's face and has this to say:
"There it is. The half-blank, half-apocalyptic look, but what does it mean tonight?"
It's a continuation of the previous argument, sure, but there's something familiar in the way Louis says "there it is." He delivered that line just like his mother did to him in Season 1 Episode 3.
When he shows up at Grace's house uninvited, his mother calls him a monster and tells him the family is too afraid of him to let him in. He doesn't believe her until he accidentally breaks down the door and sees the fear in his loved ones' eyes. That's when his mother grabs him by the chin, gets up in his face and says it.
"There he is."
There's the monster too horrible to love.
There's the thing responsible for my child's death.
There's a creature who has no place in this home.
Whether he knows it or not, that is what Louis is communicating to Armand, only this time he's the one rejecting someone who loves him. He's the one finding someone else lacking. He's the one lashing out at someone he blames for his child's death.
Unfortunately for Louis, taking this role of power doesn't help him. It's not really Armand he's mad at in this scene. Louis has always hated himself most of all.

louis says no one would've cared if daniel had gone missing or died that night in 1973... he doesn't know he saved him and that he's the source of the lifeline that kept daniel going for 50 years...... armand tells daniel he's going to live an inconsequential miserable life and his death will only inconvenience the strangers around him..... he doesn't knooow he's going to eternally bond himself to him 50 years later........ they don't knooooooooooooow
