im sorry i should have asked this before i rigged and weight painted him. But i am a Coward. so haha do you have any idea what science cont tc's back kibble n wing joints look like?
i had this as a sort of improvised stand-in to show how it Could work functionally but im not sure i like how it looks compared to the rest of the model
Tumblr media
base of wings are attached to a slot on the back kibble and can move and rotate vertically. then extends out from there to meet the wing proper at a joint which can be moved independently from the first joint in the back. the extra joint is so he can raise and lower his wings a bit more than if they were just attached, if that makes sense
i also was struggling find any good references for seeker back kibble in general to go off of (+ i am Toyless so no physical references) so just any critiques about the whole thing would be welcome. to clarify, im not asking for art or refs that may not exist yet, just opinions
sorry for sending in more of a text wall than usual ive been mulling over this a bit LOL
NO WORRIES AT ALL OMG THIS IS A REALLY INCREDIBLE, I SEE HOW IT WORKS REALLY NICELY !! I think that it functions really smoothly, esp for improvising ! It's super impressive holy shit
I'm so fr I didn't really think about how Thundercracker's wings would functionally work/fold until today and since receiving this ask, I threw myself into a frenzy trying to also figure it otherwise it'd become an itch in my head </3
I know you said you weren't looking for art or refs and just opinions, but I work better when I work things out visually so I’ll give you my take on how I think TC's wings might work-- This was like a fun challenge/puzzle to me !
also clarifying you totally don't have to go with this or anything of the sort, this is just how it might work in my head !
Tumblr media
Sliding hinges along the side of his back was the first thing I thought of ! I also separated the base/shoulder of the wings into two parts so it lets the wing fold down. Also similar to what you have going there’s a gap inbetween the back where the hinge is and that can allow the base of his wings to slide closer into to the back (I’m so bad with explaining words I hope that makes any sense </3)
HONESTLY I'M NOT A GREAT ENGINEER and I took a lot of liberty with the fact that Im working with 2D so idk how difficult any of this would transfer to 3D ! Feel free to alter/change this however you please if you so wish !
THAT'S REALLY AWESOME THAT YOU IMPROVISED WHAT YOU HAVE IM SO SERIOUS, I HAD ALL 4 OF MY JET TRANSFORMER FIGURINES TO REFERENCE AND I WAS STILL SCRATCHING MY HEAD FOR LIKE.. a good few hours about it
Again, you don't have to go with any of this at all ! This is mostly me brainstorming as well ! What you have is incredible, esp for going off of no reference for his back kibble and wing joints !

hes done im literally soooooo coool.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
rigged as well, heres a very quick test animation I made to ensure the rig worked. again, all this was done in aseprite and blender using the pribambase addon. extra stuff like uhhh closeups+ the original n64 model below the cut along with my crazy insane rants about ugly people from the hit show beast wars
Tumblr media
^ NOTE FOR 3D MODELS: I WILL GIVE YOU THE BLEND/FBX FILES, JUST ASK!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pfbbgbgbghjth. original model. beautiful and gorgeous I know
Tumblr media
I changed as little geometry as my brain would allow me to, but I did cave on his back and his legs. fork feet+ his back doesnt match how it should look so i remodeled it. my brother requested that i make him and dinobot kiss a while ago when Iwas working on the ps1 models, and im making a dinobot model now since this game doesnt HAVE dinobot. i dont know if ill cave or not but i think it would be really funny. RANT PART. ive noticed a ton of doop (giggle) ((that ship name is so great i love you beast wars fans) lately and ive scratched my head about it for a bit. excluding a few scenes which I Will admit are very clearly gaayyyyy they dont interact enough for me to ship em. I can totally see the setup of the story working well for a ship but i have not been graced with enough screentime from the two to make me a hashtag real doop shipper. can some real doop shipper come and . enlighten me or something. i dont know. shrug. ok byeeeee byeeeeee

I just tried drawing Red properly for the first time in like. My whole life really (ive been a sonic and Goku artist just for pure autism fun mostly 😐😭) so I chose Adult Red to start off and damn. Hats are hard to do jdehahgs. How does a master pro at PokéTrainers like you do it? Respectfully, ofc! Been a fan for years and mostly admired how freaking just amazing you're at with proportions, fun designs and expressions! And Reguri ofc 😤 (Loved the Sonaze art you did a while back also, absolutely stellar !)
thank you! <3 unfortunately i still DO avoid drawing caps a lot when i shouldnt and just go nahhh red can just be hatless in this and that artwork idc lol. and when i do decide to draw a cap its just constant winging it, smashing of transform tools and sketching a line over and over again until the cap finally looks like something...
but if its of any help, pixelsquid is a website FULL of 3D models of almost every object ever, and over there you can look at all kinds of hats from all angles. this is me experimenting with its offerings

hi! i really like your wwi art! i was wondering if there’s any tips for drawing helmets? specifically german helmets (im doing an art project about all quiet on the western front)? thank you for your time!
hiiii anon ty for enjoying my work!! your question makes me a little nervous bc i am really uh not good at drawing helmets. esp the stahlhelms…. but i will try to give u at least a little bit of insight to how i approach them!
Tumblr media
um did u know? the stahlhelm is actually my worst enemy. it’s such a fucking stupid shape i hate hate hate. the side view is p iconic and recognizable but oof that front view just kills me. u have this HUGE semi rounded dome on top and then a bit of an angle once u get to the skirt/visor. no matter how u view it u can see the distinct way the skirt pokes outward, i think thats rly important to getting the shape right. i know i sound like a broken record but reference is reaaally ur best pal. google, pinterest, books, ppl are big fans of stahlhelms (some for…. iffy reasons) so u can find a lot of them online
one thing that has super helped me has been looking up 3d models! sketchfab or turbosquid r the ones i browse the most…. its rly useful to b able to rotate the whole thing and see its full shape, not just the one angle u get from a picture! that also helps ur brain visualize it as a full 3d object, which translates into a drawing (the more u study it/look at ref the better u will understand how it sits irl)
Tumblr media
urgh okay. and then just examples of how ive drawn them. but again! peep that distinct angle! idk some of these r more successful and others r ummmmmmm. truly u can see how i use shading to just completely cover the areas im not confident with haha. rly examining these i can just see how wack the shape of these helmets are…..
oh also i would recommend checking out @/thespookedookie here on tumblr, they do some seriously incredible work centered around ww1 and aqotwf! they r a great source of inspo i love their art and style and everything
ok thats rly all i got! i’m sorry im not more helpful, u caught me in the middle of a series of bad days so i am not at my best or most coherent. but i hope this can help with your project in any sort of way! feel free to send any more questions u have, i will try to get to them in a timely manner :)

What has been your favourite art piece you have drawn? And your favourite character u have drawn?
AUGH I LOVE THESE QUESTIONS BUT IM SO INDECISIVE SO IM GONNA SHOW SOME OF MY FAVORITE WORKS ACROSS DIFFERENT MEDIA
Tumblr media
This was my first creature art for the roblox game i’m helping on called Legends of Pandora, and it taught me a LOT about how to translate colors into my style
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was my first ever painting commission, and was the first time i’ve ever used gold foil and textures for paintings. Unfortunately I kinda got scammed with it, but the experience was still pretty awesome. I think the final products still looks pretty great in their room too!
Tumblr media
This is one of a whole group of sculptures I made for my senior show for highschool! I graduated last summer, and wanted to try something new so I decided to go all out. I did sculpts, felting, and some wire art, but this cheetah is by far my favorite.
Tumblr media
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE ART TRADE IVE DONE SO FAR!! I pushed myself a LOT with this one, I made a rendered piece with a dynamic pose, I actually tried a background for once, I tried drawing water for once, I used layer modes like multiply and lighten and stuff, and I even used a noise screen for it! This was a fun challenge
Tumblr media
These were from a batch of my first time using Ink and paintbrushes andAHHH I honestly loved it. If i had the money for my own supplies, I’d absolutely use this again!!
Tumblr media
THIS WAS MY FIRST 3D ENVIRONMENT!! I MADE THIS TWO WEEKS AGO AND I AM VERY PROUD!! I modeled EVERYTHING! Except the water but I taught myself how to set up the nodes for it!
AAANNNDDD my favorite character will always be Piper or Bentley, who belong in the same universe but aren’t directly connected (Piper knows Bentleys brother instead) She’s a goofball and I adore her, and all of the characters I made around her, Bentley and Maddox. Here’s some art I found on my phone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last one is terrible quality but i have no clue how to find the magma page i drew it on so oops. If you click on it it helps!
Also also if you meant character as preexisting character from some sort of media haha oops, i ran out of image space. I don’t often draw characters, but it’s probably art of Hancock from Fallout, who I used to teach myself new shading methods. Can you tell I try a lot of weird/random things and end up getting happy with how they turn out?

Do you think we could have a mini anatomy tut at some point? Something about the way you draw bodies is so pleasing to look at <3
i kind of did one a few years ago and honestly the same thing applies. i never really knew how to articulate it because i don’t really have much of a process, it’s more or less just muscle memory and referencing.
i’ve talked abt this frequently but sketching over things like photos and 3d models makes the process a lot smoother for me and makes it much easier for me to put the pictures in my head down on paper. i’m older and i genuinely don’t have a lot of time on my hands like i used to, this makes the workload much easier on me and makes things more pleasant since i have less time to do things. when i do big colored pieces this is usually what i tend to do. i just draw for fun, i’ve never really been looking to improve or go to school for it, it’s just how i express things.
that being said i do think you need to have some knowledge of anatomy already in order to pull it off. you kind of have to know what certain muscles and bones are and how they interact with each other in order to actually understand what body parts are doing when it comes to a pose. you have to know how to accurately alter body types when needed, too. basically i used to do figure drawing constantly for years, id do it like every day when i was bored in my sketchbook, id look through poses and just jot them down. i used quickposes a lot which i think is a really good resource if you want to do that. again, i dont have the time or energy in my day anymore so i dont do it as much. i’m also a person with health issues that inhibit me from sitting up or looking at bright screens for long periods of time. just recently my legs have started going numb so i gotta be careful sitting at my desk lol.
i think there’s a lot of stigma around tracing over photos/models and referencing which i think is stupid. if it makes me a cheater then sure ive never rlly cared. i say do what feels right to you and what you feel like helps you, everybody learns differently and finds different things beneficial to their process. genuinely it’s about what makes you happy with your work, not anyone else. overall though i recommend figure drawing first and foremost, no matter what you choose to do i think it’s a necessary step if you’re interested.

hello! im an international fan whos currently living in japan so i got to see the movie! i actually lowkey fell off sometime in 2021-22 but since i saw a lot of people raving about the movie i decided to check it out for old times sake.
needless to say i was completely. blown out of the water by how insane the 3d models looked so full of life on screens. and hearing all the songs through cinema speakers!! i completely regret not seeing this movie when i was in ikebukuro during opening weekend since im a buster bros fan haha. dh won in my local theater! but im not upset bc genuinely i loved the songs they performed.
ive been using your tls to catch up on the plot and im just on so much brainrot rn waaaa i feel like im in 2018-19 discovering and falling in love with hypmic all over again. and its great to see a comfy community thriving on tumblr ^^
-✨
WAHHHHH HOW FUN!!!! lol i’ve been seeing a lot of people getting back into hypmic bc of the movie buzz kr probably: all according to keikaku and it’s so cool seeing all the old fans rediscovering their love for hypmic 🥺🥺🥺 us overseas fans get a shot at seeing most of the movie and having a mini voting experience too this weekend and i’m personally excited to see how animated those models are myself lol
hope you continue having fun catching up lol!!!!! 🤗

I have a few questions! Mind answering? 1. What/who is your persona and what is their name? 2. What animating software do you use? 3. What software do you use to edit? 4. How long Have you been doing this 5. Are you open for 3d commissions ?? 6. whats your most famous video 7. Whats the least famous video? 8. Favortie video you have made? 9. Favortie model you have made? 10. Least favortie model + video you have made?
My youtube avatar? They're just a scruffy little goblin, their name is Lu (short version of "Lupucs"). They are supposed to be a loose representation of myself for stuff like 3D timelapses. As for my profile pic, that's just an oc. Her name is Ruby and she's a scarecrow who can wield magic and turn into a giant crow
Blender
Blender for animation editing, adobe premiere for timelapse editing
I've been doing 3D for about 6 years on and off, though ive only started doing it more regularly roughly 4 yrs ago
sadly not since i have a full-time job, but I really appreciate the interest!! It wouldnt feel right accepting commissions without the reassurance of being able to set aside enough time to commit myself to them, not to mention balancing my hobby of making animations and 3D models. i'll definitely post an announcement on here if I reopen them again!! it's definitely not out of the question.
it's the susie noelle lunch break one!! back then i didnt even wanna upload this to youtube but my friend convinced me to do it anyway and... it sorta exploded. never expected so many people to love these two goobers so much. I'm still both shooketh and a little scared but also extremely grateful!!
probably those few old oc animations i made years ago. like this one, it's my icon but it's animated! :P this is so old lol
ooh that's tricky! there are a few that come to mind, but i think Hometown Fall studies is my favorite. I like how the cozy vibe turned out and it was so much fun animating these characters playing off of each other in a mundane scenario like that. Im also really happy with how my Alphys and Undyne anim turned out. It took about 5 months (on and off) to make
i'd say susie and papyrus. oh and alphys too!! none ut/dr models would be king from TOH, and this fanart of my friend sphinxmothra's ocs
I guess that would be my Little My Moomins model from a while ago... i kinda wanna remake it one day as i really dont like how the shaded gradients look. Oh and this old oc. As for least favorite video, it's this animation. It's so floaty lol!!!
