Hi! I'd love to hear ur take on the whole Spirk Canon discussion going on right now as someone who's written licensed Trek books. Like besides the whole "did Unification 765874 make spirk canon" thing, is it even fair to talk about spirk being canon or not? What would it take for spirk to "be canon"? It strikes me as a very fandom-y (positive) way to interact with media, which is funny since k/s invented fandom culture. But at the same time ur Supernatural comparison was right on the money and paramount has been VERY weird about addressing their relationship in nutrek. What are ur thoughts??
First of all: Despite the excitement of any given moment, people need to be careful about mistaking anything I reblog without further-amplifying comment, on any subject, as necessarily implying agreement or approval. Lots of times I reblog things just to direct attention to them (and sometimes because I think they're funny).
"ur Supernatural comparison" was not mine. It was somebody else's. I reblogged it to direct attention to it. (And maybe I thought it was funny.)
...Also, wut iz dis "nutrek" u speak of? When you've been working in this universe for long enough, with the necessary perspective to look up and down the length of it without idiosyncratically-added heat... then all Trek is Trek. The spectrum along which its varying species all coexist is ever more complexly and interestingly braided than it once was, sure. But that's all. I've got enough on my plate at the moment not to have time to waste trying to force different aspects of Trek into cage fights with each other.
And: "Paramount"? Who is that, exactly? At the pointy end, all corporations are made up of people. Which ones are we talking about? Which production entities? Which creative teams? Which execs, working under whose supervising auspices, and when? Working with whose (character/worldview/policy) decisions, and for how long?
None of this stuff is simple to work out, and it's not helpful to try to come at it as if it's necessarily going to be easy to tease out who's doing what to whom. Briefly: it's normal for it to look weird. But donât mistake a Big Corporate Monolith for something actually monolithic.
Also, for the moment, ffs, let's all just step away from the business of defining what K/S and/or Spirk actually involves. Enough ink and electrons have been spilled over this whole spectrum of character relationship since the 1960s, and frankly, life's too short. Definitely too short to be trying to resolve it all in terms of something that dropped...when? About this time last night, or the night before? :) Jeeeez, people. Take a breath or three and let things settle.
So I don't think anybody needs to be hearing my deep cogitations about the new short film right now... because there aren't any. No question, Unification's beautiful to look atâand I've told Dave Blass he did nice work, about which i don't think there can be any possible doubt. (Not to mention the high-end technical aspects dealt with so seamlessly in such a small tight package, which have left my jaw on the floor.) The Giacchino score's also quite lovely, but that also is more or less a given.
As for everything else: I decline to spew opinion all over the joint until I've had a chance to assimilate what I've seen, and actually acquire a useful opinion from somewhere or other. Meanwhile, y'all just keep doing what you're all doing, and I'll go make some more tea. :)

Crossroads | Moodboard | Masterlist
No matter how you angled, jiggled, or cajoled it, your front door key remained firmly stuck in its lock. With a deep sigh, you rested your forehead against the painted wood, and you thought of Joel. Right now your greatest desire was to be inside your house; you wondered what price he would demand to grant your wish.
âYou rang?â
Gasping, you spun around. Your heart slammed in your chest. âJesus! Joel! What the fuck!â
In the hallway behind you, Joel came to a stop. He put his hands up, a chuckle rolling out of him. âSorry, sorry. Didnât mean to scare you. Could sense you wishinâ for my company, thatâs all.â
âI wasnât wishing for your company.â Lingering adrenaline sharpened your tongue, and the words sliced from it before you could consider who you were talking to. âI was wishing for your powers, so they could give me a damn working door.â
In the dim hall, It was hard to read the glimmer in his golden eyes. âWhatever you say, kitten.â Joel nodded toward the door, and it swung inward.
You scrambled after it, but the key remained firmly stuck in the lock.
You sent him a disbelieving look.
Joel shrugged innocently. âWhat? You didnât say permanently working. You gotta be specific with these things.â
You took a deep breath, very deliberately focusing all of your attention on easing the key free. Once it was, though, there was nothing to distract you from the reality: Joel was at your house. Finding you in town was one thing, but appearing outside your homeâŚ
You smothered your nervousness. âDo I need to invite you in like a vampire, or..?â
Joel shot you a dark look. âFunny.â
And then he was stepping over the threshold, and you were shutting the door behind him.
Your building had originally been a two-story house, but it had been modified so that the first and second floors were now two separate apartments. Some might call it small, but you preferred to think of it as cozy. It was the perfect size for your one person.
Joelâs wide shoulders seemed to fill the room.
He turned in a slow circle, observing everything. The extensive spice rack hanging over the pantry door. The lantern string lights stretching around the living room. The plant with long green arms splaying crazily out of its pot on the windowsill.
All the things that made you you. He ran those otherworldly eyes over all of it, taking it in- taking you in. His glance flickered toward the half-open door at the back- your bedroom- before returning.Â
The silence gnawed at you. âSo what are you doing here?â
âWhat do you mean, what am I doinâ? We have a deal, remember? Three meetings?â
He didnât use the word date this time.
âI meanâŚwhy are you at my house?â
âDidnât know you were home.â Joel smirked. âI pop up wherever you are. Wouldnâta known where you lived otherwise.â
You sighed.
âNice little place you got hereâŚKitten.â
The way he purred Rubyâs nickname sent goosebumps racing down your neck. You whipped your head toward him, glaring uncertainly.
Joel chuckled. âBeen meaninâ to ask about that. Plain forgot by the end of our last meeting.â
You set your jaw. âBy the end of our last date, you mean?â you said sweetly.
His mouth flattened. He held your gaze until you looked away.
âItâs not that exciting of a story.â You moved around as you spoke, setting your things in their usual places. âUm, do you want a drink or anything? I donât have any whiskey, but I have other stuff, water, uh..â
âIâm-â
Joel cut off mid-sentence. You turned, and your brow furrowed. Heâd gone rigid, his eyes wide and focused intensely on nothing, as if listening to a distant sound.
â...Joel?â
He blinked rapidly. âI gotta go. But Iâll be back.â His yellow eyes flashed to you with renewed clarity, and he pointed a warning finger. âThis meeting ainât over until I hear that story.â
Your vision warped strangely, like the affect of a heat shimmer, but magnified a hundred times. When you could see clearly again, Joel was gone. The bitter scent of scorched earth hung in the air.
âWhat the fuck?â
--
Three days had passed since Joelâs disappearance. Your bed was as welcoming on the third day as it had been on the previous two, but its comfort did little to alleviate your confusion. The houseâs every little creak and sigh made you jump, thinking that it might be Joel appearing. You wondered, yet again, what on earth had pulled him away so abruptly before, and if heâd meant what he said- that when he came back, it would still be your second meeting, not your third.
A new book managed to quell your restless thoughts. You read until slightly too late- it couldnât be helped- and yawned as you turned off your lamp. Sleep tugged you downâŚ
Something thumped to the floor of the room. A heavy something. Your eyes flew open. Fear spiked through you at the shadow in the doorway- the large, human-shaped shadow.
But was the shapeâŚfamiliar? A smoky scent tickled your nose. It couldnât be. With a trembling hand, you reached for the lamp.
It was. Like a great, shadowy tree had suddenly sprouted in your room, Joel stood blinking in the light.
You sucked in air, ready to berate him for scaring the shit out of you- appearing in your bedroom in the middle of the night!- but something stopped you.
His eyes were bleary, their amber glint dull. Heavy, bruise-colored bags hung beneath them. His clothes looked unkempt, and his normally neat swoops of hair were disheveled and drooping.Â
You swung your feet to the floor. âJoel?â
It took visible effort for him to focus. âKitten,â he murmured. His gaze slid around the room like mercury in a glass, seeing but not really registering anything. The only thing that finally seemed to snag his attention was the beanbag chair beside your desk. It was adult-sized and teardrop-shaped, sitting upright in a mellow shade of teal. Joel swayed a step forward.Â
âWhat are youâŚare you okay?â You stood, though you were unsure how youâd be able to help if he did something like collapse.Â
âSure I am. Just need to rest a second.â His words were heavy and blurred together. He made his way toward the beanbag with an exaggeratedly slow, squinty-eyed focus. He folded himself to the floor, the cushion ballooning beneath his weight. His head lolled against the upright back.
Your mouth hung open. âYou canâtâŚsleep here..?âÂ
Joel scrubbed a hand over his face. âBut if Iâm here, Iâm working.â The end of his sentence was split by an enormous yawn. âWonât be bothered if Iâm workinâ,â he muttered. His whole body seemed to deflate.
A heartbeat later, a muffled snore rose from the beanbag.Â
You stared in utter bewilderment at the unconscious demon on your floor. His body looked comically large spilling out of the beanbag chair; his legs stretched nearly halfway across the room. What the fuck were you supposed to do now? Sleep, while a representative of the devil sat not six feet from you?
You hesitated. Joel hadnât given any indication that he wanted to harm you. It would be against his best interests, even, since then he definitely wouldnât get a bargain at the end of your meetings.Â
Even asleep, the furrows on his forehead havenât relaxed. You laid back down, resolving to justâŚkeep your eyes openâŚ
--
You woke with a gasp.Â
Your lamp was still on, your body was intact, and JoelâŚ
Joel was asleep in your beanbag chair.
In the daylight he looked even worse. His clothes dusty and wrinkled, the lines on his face carved deeper than normal. He looked tired even while sleeping.Â
And he was in your room.
The soft click of the lampâs switch made you cringe. You didnât dare make any greater noise or movement- there was no telling how heâd react to being woken suddenly in a strange place.Â
Damn, you kind of had to pee, though. Surely you could tiptoe in and out of the room for that without waking him..?
Twin golden slits appeared- Joelâs eyes opened.
He sat straight up, his gaze darting all around. It found you, which seemed to dredge up the relevant memories, because after a tense moment of staring, he slumped back into beanbag. The alarm faded from his features.Â
âGood morning,â you said cautiously.
Joel grunted. âKitten.â His voice was a gravelly rasp.Â
âDo youâŚremember coming here last night?â
His gaze flickered as he sifted through his memory. âSorta.â
Words failed you. You wanted to ask him what the fuck happened, and also if he was okay or injured or anything, but you also didnât want to provoke him. You didnât know what his deal was- one-night stand etiquette hardly applied to this.
Joel pushed himself to his feet with a stiff slowness, like a toy without enough moving joints. âWell, Iâll get outta your hair. Thanks for lettinâ me crash here.â
âWait!â You stood hastily. âUm- like, are you okay? Do you..need anything, like- breakfast, orâŚâÂ
He listened to your stuttering half-turned for the door. When you trailed off, Joel faced you again. His eyes were low candle flames, wavering as they dipped to your pajama shorts, but his face didnât lose its suspicion. âWhat kind of breakfast?â
--
As soon as you said âcoffeeâ, Joel had lit up.
Turned out he liked coffee almost as much as whiskey. But it was âharder to come byâ, apparently. He hadnât elaborated on that. Joel still looked kind of foggy, like all that was propelling him was the promise of breakfast food (or maybe the coffee), but you were betting on him perking up once he had some fuel in him.Â
Joel seemed pleased by your choice of diner and its familiar, timeless fare. Waffles and pancakes, eggs and baconâŚand most importantly, unlimited coffee. Holding a mug beneath his nose, he inhaled deeply; then sighed it out, looking more serene than you had ever seen him.Â
Amused, you sipped your own coffee. It wasnât anything to write home about- for that, youâd have taken him to Blackhammer, your favorite cafe- but youâd figured the food and atmosphere here would be more pertinent today.Â
You waited until heâd inhaled half of his âHungry Man Specialâ to bring it up. âSoâŚcan I ask what happened?â
Joel froze mid-chew. He swallowed, then cleared his throat. âWhen I was last here, I gotâŚcalled into the office, so to speak. There was some big ruckus, needed all hands on deck. Thatâs why I couldnât come back for a few days. I got away by saying I had a deal in the works, couldnât let it disappear. Probably shouldnât have,â he muttered, his face darkening. âCould come back to bite me in the ass.â He shoveled more sunny-side-up eggs and sausage into his mouth.
âBut why did you look soâŚyou fell asleep on my floor, Joel.â
He shrugged. âLife of a demon.â His smile was as bitter as the dinerâs black coffee. Heâd pulled some magic trick in your bathroom before leaving, so he looked physically refreshed- unwrinkled clothes, gray hair tidied- but exhaustion lurked in the lines around his eyes.
âDid you mean it when you said that our meeting wasnât over? This is still our second meeting?â
âIâm a demon of my word- this meeting ainât over âtil I get that story, Kitten.â Joelâs spark seemed to have returned; he waggled his brows at you suggestively, his eyes flashing gold.
Your mouth twitched. You opened it to speak-
Joel cut you off. âBut not now. Iâm too tired to be able appreciate it.â
He kept his head bent to his plate. It took a moment for his meaning to land- but when Joel looked back up, you nodded.
--
Joel appeared fully back to his old self the next time you saw him, which was at the grocery store. It was utterly surreal to be grocery shopping with some kind of supernatural being by your side, but Joel strolled alongside your cart without any compunction, peering at the shelves and watching what you selected with avid interest.Â
It was an insightful experience. You watched Joel âaccidentallyâ bump into one of the elementary school teachers in front of the strawberries and flirt until you thought the womanâs striped dress would melt right off her; he then followed you down the cereal aisle and made faces at a baby behind the fatherâs back. He shook his head at your selected brand of chili seasoning, examined every side of your container of matcha, and wrinkled his face in fascinated disgust at the range of Oreo flavors.Â
All of it made you wonder. Joel never answered your question about how long heâd been a demon. He enjoyed Oreos, but didnât know there were golden ones. Heâd never seen an iPod Shuffle, but didnât seem overly baffled by the capabilities of your smartphone. His speech sounded more or less modern.Â
How old was Joel really? What would he think of your theory- that heâd become a demon like this because heâd sold his own soul?
--
The libraryâs busy hush was blissful. Peaceful yet thrumming with life and purpose, you always got your best work done here. Steam curled from the opening in your coffee cup, drifting past your laptop screen, barely registering in front of the lines of text rapidly appearing.
Somebody plunked a book down at the table space beside you. Your attention flickered. Youâd be annoyed by the person in a minute, given the number of empty tables they could have chosen to sit at, but for now you typed on, determined to finish your train of thought.
You were about to glance over when someoneâs mouth grazed your ear. âWorking hard, kitten?â
You clapped a hand over your mouth to keep from yelping.
âWould you stop sneaking up on me every time you appear!â You snapped your head around to hiss the words, but that just put you inches away from a pair of familiar golden eyes, and your head reared back on instinct.Â
Joel straightened up, shrugging archly. âNot my fault youâre unobservant.â
You scoffed. âIâm not unobservant, Iâm working. I canât play with you today, I have a deadline.â
His eyes gleamed as he spotted your coffee cup. âWhatâs this? âBlackhammerâ.â Joel picked it up to read the label. Before you could stop him, he stole a sip.
His face contorted in disgust. âJesus, what the hellâd you do to this? Canât even taste the coffee.â
Stifling laughter, you carefully took the cup back from him. âThatâs because itâs a hazelnut latte, not regular coffee.â
Joel smacked his mouth exaggeratedly, giving the cup a suspicious look. âIâm not sure I trust this place after tasting that.â
âThey do have nice coffee roasts, they just also have basic bitch drinks.â
âBasic- what?â Joel looked mildly appalled, your choice of vocabulary finally pulling his attention from the coffee.
Your amusement warred with your annoyance. The ubiquity of memes and the breadth and variety of new, ever-evolving slang was one of things Joel had approximately zero knowledge of, as you discovered at the grocery store, after he asked if an advertisement was using âslayâ as a reference to âthat vampire slayer chickâ. Normally you were happy to explain things, but today you were busy.
âItâs just a descriptor, itâs not really an insultâŚanymore.â
Joel didnât look like he believed you. âYouâre in a library; go look it up.â You gestured to the bank of computers. His mouth crinkled dubiously.Â
You sighed. âLook, give me like, 30 minutes. You can brush up on Urban Dictionary, and then Iâll take you to Blackhammer.â
Joel straightened, adopting a unaffected expression. âNaw, donât worry about it. You can take me tomorrow, when youâre not workinâ. Later, kitten.â
--
It was a twenty minute walk from your house to Blackhammer, but despite Joelâs declaration that the rain would hold off, you definitely just felt a drop hit your nose.
The clouds were dark and the breeze mischievous- not unlike the conditions of your first meeting. A sideways glance caught Joelâs yellow eyes glimmering back at you, confirming that he was remembering it, too.
He stuck his hands in the pockets of his jeans as he strolled. âDid you make your deadline yesterday?âÂ
Keeping one eye on the sky, you told him a little about your work. Ten minutes later, undeniable dark spots started to speckle the sidewalk. Joel scoffed- but when the speckles started to become patches, he was right behind you as you scurried under the nearest awning.
The skies opened. Rain poured down like someone had opened a tap over a colander. Thunder rumbled, though half-heartedly, as if to say that it could be a storm, if it wanted to, but it didnât feel like it today.
Joel lifted his hands to ward off your pointed look. âNow, listen-â
âYou insisted-!â
But you were laughing, and his grumbling was good-natured, and you waited companionably under the awning. Several people more prepared than you walked past holding umbrellas.Â
After another ten minutes or so, the rain lightened- but not so much that it couldnât still be called a downpour. The wind had fallen still, and the clouds gave the impression of settling in for a good long soak.
You glanced at Joel. âI donât suppose you could magic us up an umbrella.â
Joel smirked. âI can do better than that.â
To your astonishment, he walked right out into the downpour. Your mouth opened to protest, but when he turned around, it closed- he was as dry as the sidewalk had been twenty minutes ago. There were no speckles on his shirt, no droplets beading on his hair. He spread his hands, looking smug.
âHow did you do that?â
âI wanted to stay dry. Granted my own wish.âÂ
He hadnât mentioned he could do that during your conversation at lunch. âHuh.â
Joel beckoned. âCome on. Your turn.â
After a momentâs hesitation, you stepped out into the rain.
And promptly got soaked. Cold and wet splashed you as suddenly as if you'd been hit by a couple of water balloons. You leaped back under the awning, swiping water from your face. âWhat the fuck, Joel!â
The bastard was laughing. Joel was bent at the waist, clutching his middle, crowing at his own little prank.
He straightened, wiping his eyes. âYou shoulda seen your face,â he hooted.Â
It was difficult to stay mad when he was suddenly, startlingly pretty, this man- this demon- with the lines on his face creased in laughter and humor sparkling in his sulfur-yellow eyes.
You gave it a try nonetheless. âYou said you wanted us to stay dry!â
Joelâs grin didnât fully fade. âI said I wanted to stay dry. Never said anything about you.â His eyes, still shimmering, glance down your body, dripping like rain over the clinging patches on your shoulders and chest.
You couldn't look away from him. The rain hissed down around you, a silvery curtain preserving the moment, blurring out the rest of the world.Â
Joelâs eyes were as warm as sunlight in the distance. He held out his hand. âAlright, come on. I owe you now. My paymentâll be keeping you dry this time.â
You stepped up to the border of wet and dry on the sidewalk. Your arm stretched over the lineâŚand stayed dry.Â
You placed your hand in Joelâs. He tugged you out into the rain, and though he released your hand, not a drop touched you.
--
Coffee culture, you suspected, had not been as advanced the last time Joel had been in a cafe. Luckily, the other reason Blackhammer was your favorite palace was the baristas- they were patient, not pretentious, and cheerfully explained the various brewing options to Joel until he was satisfied with his choice. Now he sat and watched his single-origin pour-over brew with forced patience, glancing over disdainfully as you added several brown sugar cubes to your own mug.
As soon as the last drop fell from the filter, Joel was on it. One sip, and his face transformed- he lit from within, chuckling in pure disbelief. He admitted without any arm-twisting that it was worth the wait.
âCan I ask you something?â You didnât want to to ruin the comfortable atmosphere, but your theory couldnât wait any longer.Â
Joel lowered his mug. âMeeting number twoâs big question, huh? Fire away.â He looked resigned, but not annoyed, which you took as encouragement.
âThree dates, three questions,â you reminded him cheekily.
Rolling his eyes, Joel gestured impatiently.
âWhen I asked you before, about how long youâve been a demonâŚyou didnât answer.â You snuck a look at him, but he sat stone-faced. âWill you answer it now?â
Joel took a deep, slow breath. âIâve been a demonâŚfor somewhere around twenty years.â
He didnât volunteer many details, and you didnât ask for them. He made a deal to save his family, and, he said, heâd do it again. His brimstone eyes flashed.Â
âI was too scared to try and pull anything clever,â he admitted. âBut Iâve learned a trick or two since then.â
âSo, whoâŚowns your soul?â
The furrow in Joelâs brow deepened. âThe demon who made the deal with me, I suppose. Iâd have to check the contract,â he said sardonically.
You phrased your next question very carefully. âIf he didnât own your soul anymore, what would happen to you?â
The full weight of Joelâs attention fell on you, his face a mix of serious and suspicious. âDepends on what he did with it. He could toss it with the rest, and Iâd die like everyone else. He could give it to another demon, and Iâd stay the same. I guess, theoreticallyâŚâ You hardly dared to breathe.
âHe could give it back to me. ThenâŚwell, I dunno really. Itâs not exactly common practice.â Another eye roll. âBut theoretically, that could mean Iâd be a normal human again.â
âCan a normal human own another humanâs soul?â You spoke casually, easily, hoping Joel would think you were just musing aloud as the thoughts occurred to you.
âI think thatâs generally a no-no, unless they have access to some powerful magic.â
His golden gaze was scorching, his unspoken questions louder than your unconvincing casualness.
But you said nothing more on the subject.
âIf youâve only been a demon for twenty years, then is this your actual age?â You nodded toward his appearance, letting your mouth curve and your eyes sparkle with implication.
Blinking, Joel glanced down at himself. âThereabouts. I havenât changed the way I look since I was, uh. Recruited.â His gaze strayed into the distance, clearly still distracted.
âCould you?â you ask curiously.
âSome do.â Joel pushed his mug away abruptly. âI gotta go. Thanks for the coffee.â Shoulders hunched pensively, Joel walked all the way out of the cafe before vanishing.
--
You still hadnât explained the âkittenâ thing, and it was driving you a little bit crazy.Â
Itâs not that you wanted to end your meetings. Itâs just that it felt like unfinished business; like it was keeping you on uncertain ground. Every time Joel used the nickname, it jolted you- was this the moment when he wanted you to explain it? Was he hinting that he wanted the meetings to end?
And the way he used it. Heâs made it his own, really. Or at least, you hoped he saw it that way. Joel certainly didnât use the same inflection as Ruby when he said it.
âKitten.â You heard it in his teasing voice, low and rough as a lionâs purr, and you shivered. Only when he said it did it sound like you were in a novel of a certain genreâŚ
Oh, no.
Oh, no, this was not a romance novel. You couldnât be having a crush on a demon.
âŚBut he wasnât just a demon. He was Joel.
You didnât even know if it was possible for the two of you to have a future. Particularly given that, as Joel said, another demon owned his soul. Come to think of it, who would own your soul if you sold it? It should be Joel, you reasoned, because he would be the one making the deal. Now there was something to considerâŚ
--
Joel coalesced, and the moment he saw the plant on the windowsill, he smiled.
The smile vanished, however, at what he saw next: your body prone on the sofa, your face pale and taut.
You groaned, curling in on yourself. âYou know how I enjoy your company, Joel, but Iâm not really up for making deals today. Come back tomorrow, or later tonight if itâs really urgent.â
It should bother him that youâre so unmoved by his presence. That youâre so comfortable blithely shooing away a demon with power like his, so sure that your artless dismissal will result in his disappearance.Â
Joel felt not a whisper of annoyance. Instead, as your face contorted in a clear grimace of pain, he feltâŚanxiety.
âWhatâŚwhatâs wrong?â
âWhat?â You opened your eyes, seeming confused that he was still there. âNothing, just period pains. Itâs normal.â Your legs shifted restlessly. âYou could pass me that bottle of painkillers before you go, though, if youâre feeling generous.â You nodded past him, toward the kitchen table.
Joel didnât move. âOr, I couldâŚmake it go away.â He didnât shift, didnât fidget. Didnât make any expression at all as the offer left his mouth.
âUh-huh. At what price?â You laughed weakly. âItâs fine, Joel. Happens every month.â
âNo price. A gift, freely given.â Joel was kneeling beside you before he was even aware of moving.
You drew a startled breath. The motion pulled at the aching muscles in your abdomen, and your face tightened again.
A ferocious need snarled to life inside Joel. He hadnât felt anything with this strength in years. It burned through him, demanding his attention, forging pathways heâd thought long-atrophied. It brought everything into sizzling clarity, like- like-
Like having a soul again.
Joelâs hand hovered over your belly, so close to touching you could feel the warmth of him. âSay yes,â he said.
There was something fierce in his tawny eyes, in the set of his mouth- something you didnât dare interpret. You nodded.
Joel rested his hand on your abdomen- and the pain faded away.Â
âOhhhh.â Your whole body relaxed, and you released a great sigh. You gripped Joelâs wrist without thinking, keeping that sensation there. It was like a warmth, but also something else- not just the absence of pain, but the presence of pleasure, a sweet, honeyed glow emanating through your lower belly and into the rest of your body.Â
Joelâs pinkie finger rested on a sliver of skin exposed by your top. The pleasure seemed sweetest there, the richest feeling originating from that tiny length of skin-to-skin contact. As the pain receded and your presence of mind returned, the concept of Joelâs skin on yours became all the more remarkable.
âJoel.â You looked up, intending to say more, but the look on his face stopped you. It was hard but satisfied, the ferocity of earlier gentled. His eyes were the same color, though- tawny-amber, like a mountain catâs.
You swallowed. âThank you.â
Joel nodded. He gently extracted his hand from your grip, and the loss of that feeling left a cold hollow. You made a tiny, involuntary sound.
Joel stood, wincing as his knees cracked. Maybe he hadnât altered his outer or inner workings, like heâd said at Blackhammer. Knowing that his beauty was all-natural was strangely dizzying, overwhelming, and not something you needed to be fixating on right nowâŚ
âGet some rest, honey. This meeting ainât over.â
Your mouth quirked even as your eyelids drooped. As you fell asleep in his presence for the second time, Joel allowed himself a small smile, and then vanished.Â
--
âI told you this farmerâs market was good.â Your door unlocked without the slightest struggle; pleased, you made your way inside.
Joel closed the door behind him, satisfaction flickering across his face. He followed you to the kitchen table, watching you unload your purchases. âIt was good, I just thought the Sunday one was better, is all.â
âWell, yeah, the weekend ones are always bigger. The Wednesday one is calmer, thoughâŚâ
Joel had to concede that. The townâs Sunday market had been bustling, with crowds so thick they funneled like molasses, in a slow-moving stream. Once he got used to the noise and the sensation of being gently buffeted about, though, heâd started to enjoy himself. All the smells in the air and the range of goods on offer. Todayâs market, though slightly smaller, had a more local feel- the vendors could actually hear each other across their stands, and called greetings and inquiries about lives and jobs.
Several enormous peaches now sat in a basket in the center of the table. With an expression of relish, you plucked one out and went to the sink to wash it.Â
A question you asked several dates ago was turning slowly around and around in Joelâs mind. It had lodged in his thoughts the day youâd asked it, growing into a ponderous yet inescapable vortex that was now on the verge of sucking him in. He was usually reluctant to use his gift, but something had its teeth in him- something he didnât care to examine too closely. You had asked for itâŚ
Returning with your peach, you sent him a quizzical look. âYou look like youâre thinking about something.â
âDo you remember at our first meetinâ, at lunch, when you asked me if I could show you theâŚâtemptingâ that I can do?â
The hand holding the peach paused halfway to your mouth. â...Yes.â
âI could show you now, if you want.â
Your arm lowered. âOkay,â you agreed.
Joel held out his hand. You stared at him, bemused, until he nodded toward your uneaten snack. Nerves fizzed in his fingertips as your hand neared, as the downy skin of the peach met his palm.Â
He held it up. The fruit was nearly as big as his fist, which was saying something. âYou want this peach?â
âI did,â you replied, amused and intrigued.
Joel turned and made his way to the couch, sinking into one end. He waved the peach at you again. âHow bad?â
Only slightly wary, you followed, sitting opposite him on the couch. âNot bad enough to fight you for it, if thatâs what you mean.â
Joel shifted to face you. His attention burned, as unavoidable as a desert sun. Looking at you intently, he tilted his head. âWhat about now?â
All at once, the peach looked like the most delicious thing youâd ever seen. It seemed to glow in the afternoon light, a fragment of summer itself in Joelâs hand. The rosy flesh was near to bursting with syrupy juice; all you could think about was how dry your throat felt.
Joel brought the peach to his lips. You were transfixed by the sight of his teeth piercing the skin; the wet sound of the flesh as it parted; his mouth and throat working as he slurped at the juice.Â
Joelâs mouth glistened. âDo you want this peach?â He held it toward you, offering it like the precious gift it was.
You leaned forward, your knee touching Joelâs. The low rumble of his voice reverberated in your chest; your eyes darted back and forth between his face and the fruit. The peachâs fragrance, thick and floral, floated in the air. âYes.â
âWhat would you trade for it?â Joel lifted the peach to his mouth again.
âWait!â you cried. âUm-â You looked around wildly. In your frantic, clumsy haste to find something, you toppled forward.
You planted your hand on Joelâs chest to stop yourself. He sat unmovable, solid and warm. The woodsmoke scent of him threaded through the sweetness in the air. You lifted your eyes to his- his gorgeous eyes, golden like honey, like sunlight. His mouth was lush and wet as the fruit youâd all but forgotten about. Your interest in the peach was fleeting, a drop in the bucket compared to your desire for-
âStop.â
The vitality of the moment faded. After a few fraught seconds, everything seemed slightly lessâŚvibrant, somehow. Joelâs mouth was a flat line, his jaw tense. He didnât move.Â
Slow and cautious, you sat back, your brow furrowed. You remembered everything that had just happened, but the thought process behind your actions was less clear.Â
You eyed the peach, wondering where its appeal had gone. âWhat did youâŚâ
âI didnât do anything. I asked if you wanted the peach. My powers did the rest.â
Joelâs powers. His aura of temptation, convincing you that what you wanted most in the world was perfectly within reach. UntilâŚ
Your face felt like it might burst into flames. âAnd thenâŚâ
âAnd then you got distracted,â Joel said shortly.
He set the peach on the coffee table and stood. âIâm late for something. I gotta go.â For once he left through the door, rather than vanishing in his uncanny way.
Your apartment felt strangely empty without him taking up so much space in it. Â
Your cheeks blazed with heat beneath your palms. What just happened?
Joel said youâd gotten distracted. But his powers didnât create desires, only amplified existing ones. Which meantâŚ
You stood suddenly, overcome with the strength of your realization.
And Joel knew.
--
The ground Joel trod was uneven rock, but his mind was nowhere near his feet. It was back in your apartment, frozen in the exact moment he felt your desire shift, its focus change.Â
To him.
It couldnât be. But it was. He knew exactly what his powers could and couldnât do, and they couldnât put that fire in your eyes without a spark.Â
Joelâs hands shook and his blood raced, propelling him toward the meeting place fast enough that he would no longer be late. Heâd give himself away, but it didnât matter. Tess was waiting.
--
A small crowd was already waiting at the crossing. You fell in at the back, using the wait to dig in your bag for chapstick. When the crowd started forward, you looked up.
Joel was standing on the other side.
You froze. People flowed around either side of you. In your indecision, the crossing light changed from green to red again.
Itâs been 48 hours since youâve seen Joel. Since his powers lifted the veil on your desire for him, bringing it into the light for you both to feel.Â
Your eyes locked onto him. He stood as inscrutable as ever, hands in his pockets, his hair glinting silver in the light. He jerked his head in a summoning motion.
That was more like the irritating demon you knew. That familiar combination of annoyance and trepidation gave you the courage to cross the street.
Silently, he fell into step beside you. You walked slowly, both of you gathering your thoughts.
âThat ice cream place you mentioned, when we went to lunch. Is it open now?â
It was so beyond anything you might have expected that you stopped, right in the middle of the sidewalk.Â
âWhat?â
Joel paused a few steps later, turning his head, and then the rest of his body, back toward you. âThe ice cream place. Is it open right now?â he repeated.
The gears of your mind turned stickily, slow to catch up. âUmâŚI think so.â
âCan we go?â Joel looked at you expectantly.
âRight now?â
Joel huffed in exasperation. âYes, kitten. Right now. You feelinâ okay?â
âSure, yeah, umâŚâ Your thoughts juddered into motion again. âJust, itâs this way.â You pointed back the way youâd come.Â
The line at the nearby ice cream place was long. You werenât surprised. Neither was anyone else, it seemed. Families and couples waited without complaint, enjoying the balmy weather. You and Joel joined the end, still mostly silent. It wasnât awkward, exactly. MoreâŚunsure.
âIf I pay for this,â Joel finally said, âwill you tell me the story behind your nickname?â
Oh. You didnât answer for a long moment, your mind ticking. âYes,â you said.
Joel nodded once, his face mostly stoic, and yetâŚnot. You couldnât put your finger on any specific emotion. Only that he didn't seem...satisfied, as if he wasn't quite convinced by his own course of action.
âWhy do you even still have money?â you asked.Â
Joel rolled his eyes. âTo buy my victims ice cream, of course.â He gave you a sidelong glance, before stepping forward to peer at the menu.
You shook your head, looking away to hide a smile.
You expected to feel sad. Disappointed, about the idea that Joel wanted to end your second meeting and start your third and final one.
But you just couldnât.
You couldnât feel sad when Joel was still cracking lame jokes and suppressing smiles at your grudging laughter. You couldnât feel worried that you fucked everything up when he handed you your ice cream cone with easy care, letting your fingers brush for a prolonged moment. You couldnât fear that he wanted to end things when he asked if you had any plans for the local holiday next weekend; as if he paid attention, as if he cared.Â
âNah,â you answered. You didnât notice Joelâs golden eyes flicker as you busily chased a trickle of melting ice cream with your tongue. âWell, I mean yes, but theyâre the same as everyone elseâs. Go out, get drunk, have a good time.â
âWhereâs your favorite place?â
âWhat, to go out? The Chameleon, probably.â Your eyes closed to savor your ice cream.
The Chameleon was a place youâve mentioned before. It was sort of a bar and a club stuck together, but the setup worked for everyone- especially the bar, whose patrons only needed to head into the back to ramp up their night out. You'd said the 'vibes' there were always good, which Joel thought sounded a bit retro, but which you assured him was currently modern slang again.
âAny good times planned?â
You sent Joel a curious glance. âSome, for sure, but theyâre more open-ended plans.â
Joel looked away, across the lot full of picnic tables and families with their sweet treats, and concentrated on his cone. The height of his ice cream swirl steadily shrank, until finally it was level with the top of the cone. âSo,â he said. âKitten.â
You froze, a mouthful of ice cream half-melted on your tongue. You swallowed quickly, shivering as the cold caught in your throat. âKitten,â you agreed.
The memory made you smile. Nostalgia tangled with a twinge of inevitable sadness as you finally told the story that had held the end at bay for so long.
âI was hired at Rubyâs right before Halloween. Normally Ruby meets all the new hires herself, but she was away that year for some reason. So I didnât meet her until the day of Halloween. I was wearing a headband with little cat ears on it- employees were allowed to dress up, but Iâd only just started, so I didnât wanna do anything crazy- so the headband was my only âcostumeâ, but Ruby comes in and she looks at me and goes âWell, whoâs this little kitten?ââ
Joel could hear it in Rubyâs exact tone. You laughed, shaking your head, and continued. âShe just called me âkittenâ for the rest of the night- for the rest of the week. She did eventually learn my name, but it was too late by that point. Everyone else there started calling me 'kitten', too, and it just stuck
You shrugged, darting a glance at Joel. âI told you it wasnât that exciting.â
âMaybe.â Waffle cone crunched between his teeth. âYou mind that I use it?â
You looked up in surprise. âNo.â
Joelâs eyes were bright, the yellow as defiant as dandelions. He popped the end of the cone in his mouth with relish and sucked the ice cream off his fingers. âGood,â he said. âKitten.â

met a really cool queer stranger today that i thought was just so fucking neat i wanted to talk but if we were playing tennis they were, with the most gentle and earnest voice ive ever heard, shoving the tennis racket down my throat. every compliment or joke i made was turned away but in the sweetest way possible that made me sound like an absolute asshole lunatic. it was so scary.
#i tried so hard to be funny and nice but the way they replied to each thing i said made me feel like a scumbag LOL#ive never had that happen before. im very polite when i talk to strangers and i was being very polite then too!#i dont think they even saw it happening in realtime bc they were so calm and even keeled about it#but my god. still thinking about it. absolutely rattled me.#'ur so cool' 'oh its not the olympics. everyones cool. ur cool too' 'haha ur right yet ur still winning' 'hm. its not a competition.'#i was trying to make you laugh im sORRY i was being goofy when i said that i promise i did not say it straight#'you have so many cool tattoos' 'oh ive got a couple tattoo artist friends' 'oh thats so cool. maybe i could get a foot in the door'#like obviously as a joke but they replied gently 'you shouldnt seek friends out just to get something from them.'#NO I KNOW I KNOW IM SORRY IT HAPPENS TO ME CONSTANTLY I KNOW TRUST ME#i panicked and was like 'oh haha no i wasnt serious dont worry. im an artist so i know the feeling.' but i guess it came across as like#yknow. bc they just went 'hm.' and pulled out their phone#FUMBLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im so embarrassed#the worst part was id been talking to someone in the back who makes familiar plushies and shed set a few out#so i was talking to them while i was trying to pull up her insta to look up more info about one of the familiars#bc it looked SO FUCKING COOL and i stood there saying that to my husband right in front of them after this legendary fumble#finally pulled up the insta post for it and. they own that one. its theirs. they dressed it like that. i was so fucking embarrassed skdjfks#i wanted to look at the pricetag bc i assumed it was there bc she HADNT sold it yet#god. legendarily embarrassed.

I have a gift for y'all today !!! đ Ever wanted to find a line in Re:Kinder in a single place for the sake of reference?? How about multiple chunks of lines. how about all the little variations that arise in the text with it's many endings, item descriptions, text that comes from interacting with the enviroment, and character info from the menu without having to boot up the game and go through it at long minutes!!???
well i sure didđ Since I do a lot of fanart and think up my own silly theories and thoughts that need me to reference the game lines a lot, i have made a transcript for it for convenience's sake. A weirdly thorough transcript handwritten and proofread by me including all character lines available in-game. And I'm sharing it with you all today for anyone that wants it !!! :3 To use as a reference for creative fanworks or a quick search for a line in-game, whatever you wish to use it for!!
It uses the english translation of the game by vgperson. So naturally all credit for the game lines available in here is to her and Parun who made the game.
I did my best to organize it in a way easy to digest. Do note that I'm still human, and there's still the chance for mistake in it no matter how much I've proofread it, since I'm not even an english native speaker ^^. But I hope it serves you well nonetheless if you wish to use it.
That's my gift for today!!! Not the usual art, but still a project I'm proud of. Enjoy!!! đ
#re:kinder#rekinder#not art#now goofy commentary for those who read my tags#i may have spent at the very minimum around 35 hours on it đ because thats what my pomodoro timer got to count in sum#but then again i spent more time without timing it as well so. we'll never know how many hours in total I've put into this#no regrets it was fun because shocking fact of all i enjoy this game𫣠(/s)#you could say but michael there are long playthroughs available on YouTube#couldnt you reference that instead of making a transcript#to that i say... they don't play the game like i do im picky as hell they dont show me every nook and cranny possible#and also i dont like scrubbing through those i thought just pressing ctrlF on a script would be easier. AND IT IS JAJSJSJSJSJS#but thats personal preference all in all#and im used to using transcripts for fanworks coming from earthbound. like there's one for the main game dialogue online and i love it a lot#for this game to not have any felt like some sort of crime considering how cool the story and the lines it has are#its also plenty useful for a game you're writing the spanish wiki for#yes i am doing that apparently my hobby became community work since i got into this game#gotta put that free time before turning 18 and getting a job onto something why not make resources just because i can#anyway fun fact while proofreading i noticed that everytime yuuichi was on scene there was a typo because i got too excited or emotional#either i was laughing because of how evil he is or i was getting unreasonably angry at the treatment he recieved in the past#in section 9 which is true end confrontation i was doing mistakes left and right until the fabled princess line scene#there i was bawling like a baby but THE ERRORS STOPPED ABRUPTLY LIKE I WAS FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE ALL UNTIL THE SCENE ENDED#THEN THERE WERE A BUTLOAD OF MISTAKES ITS INCREDIBLY FUNNYđ i was fighting for my life holding in all those typos because i couldnt see#so this transcript was made with a lot of emotion laugh and tears and now you know#now i can get bagk to drawing this is the thing i mentioned i was doing fot a while#content feeding schedule crazy rn

do the Bandaged Scoundrel and your seeking alt know each other
actually yes and im THOROUGHLY DELIGHTED YOU ASKED
so, quick context for those not in the know, my seeking alt is caeru. he's a pre-existing OC of mine that i inserted into the role of a nemesis ambition playthrough against his metaphorical will. this is because i really wanted to play SMEN at some point or another, and caeru is exactly the type of guy to go on a self-destructing doomed spiral of madness in pursuit of forbidden knowledge. also he's just built to go through horrors in general. the best way i can possibly describe it is that if everyone else in his original setting lives in a resident evil/silent hill kind of horror game, caeru specifically exists in a fear and hunger or pathologic kind of horror game. no respite no peace no rewards only madness death and hunger forever and ever <3
so! the scoundrel and caeru exist in the same world. and they hate each other. they do not get along. they have so much beef. primarily because caeru would be intensely liberationist and very much on the side of murdering all stars forever, while the scoundrel is... shall we say, neutral on average and leaning towards white at worst. but also im gonna be so fr it's actually mostly because the scoundrel is just a huge bastard that's absolutely full of themselves and thinks they're above everyone else and caeru hates that exact character archetype with every fiber of his being. chronically incompatible pair of dudes. they're acquaintances but they probably send each other pipebombs in the mail.
but also. i think they do semi-rely on each other just a bit. caeru's very much analysis and correspondence focused where the scoundrel picks a red science experiment and fucks around purely to find out. the scoundrel is charismatic and wealthy where caeru struggles to hold a five second conversation without shriveling up like a raisin. they probably owe a lot of favors to each other is what im saying. weird hate friendship dynamic where neither of them like the other guy but still need them around so they only passive aggressively taunt each other instead of active sending to the boatman. the scoundrel may call on caeru to work at their lab every now and again, and caeru may come willingly, but they will never not grumble about being in the same room together.
it's a strange sort of kismesis, if you dare.
#note that i call him caeru here bc that's his name but 1) the character technically has a dozen equally fitting and valid names#and 2) if he had a proper london-style moniker it'd be The Doomed Scientist#ask#fallen london#ik ive mentioned him in passing before but this is the first time ive actually sat down and elaborated lol#in a way the scoundrel is made in a lab to be caeru's ultimate nemesis. they dont even go to utmv they're exclusively a fl oc#they're just that annoying#also caeru's account isnt actually very far in in the slightest since he's just an alt and ive got like. the entire scoundrel#their relationship is mostly a lore/hc thing for me atm#it's kinda funny how caeru keeps collecting hateships including ones across realities. how does this keep happening#i havent decided yet but i think it'd be fun if this dynamic kept going even post-ambition for both of them#mr cards and its horrible little seeker#scoundrelventures

#i was rereading thru my last dyslexia assessment and its really interesting. i took it 5 years ago#which is before i really figured out how to be a person and it does match a lot of my struggles#as u might expect. like very very bad short term memory and delay in ability to call words to the surface#the last one might explain why i constantly struggle to find the words im looking for. and obviously my ability to read and spell are very#bad as well. but they dont actually drill down on why. its weird. theyre screening for problems but dont ask what the problem looks like#from my end. like my eyes dont track well across a page and i find it it difficult to read passages because my brain is constantly#interupting me with unrelated thoughts and daydreams. and you woudlnt kno that from reading this report. makes me wonder how nuanced an#understanding of dyslexia we actually have. i should read dyslexia papers bc i find it really interesting#it also makes me kinda sad bc the person assessing me made notes like: very attentive and focused. obviously anxious when under assessment#like aw poor anxious freak lol. i also clearly did not fucking understand what they were asking on the executive function assessment#bc i answered that i had no problems there and i clearly have problems with just about everything asked abt and i kno i did then as well#it must have been academicly originated and like i can do school. im good at school. but everything else is a disaster#to clarify. i wonder how much assessment of how dyslexia is experienced when assessments are just looking got indications that#its happening. bc if u kno its there as a teacher it doesnt really matter what it looks like to u. but i personally find it v interesting#and im sure brain ppl do to. id do a dyslexia brain study. come at me neurologists#also questions like: r u able to stay organized? me: of course! i only exist in like 3 locations so even if i lose things theyre easy to#find in the massive disorganized pile of things i leave behind#its very funny to me reading that report as i take these measurements where my workspace looks a disaster and im constantly losing my pen#and forgetting what i need to do. then suddenly remembering. like can i stay focused? yes. i stay so focused that i burn my brain to dust#ay ay ay. at least i still feel ok abt my measurement taking. tho my ability to sleep is already in decline so im sure that wont last long#bc thats how it goes. an up mood where maybe i wanna run around in circles screaming a bit but its all good. not getting a ton of sleep and#doing too much. then burning out and losing stability. pulled forward by my own compulsive thoughts#but for now were good. and someday ill do a dyslexia deep dive bc i really really wanna kno but also i cant read which makes learning hard#when u want academic info lol#unrelated

How To (Realistically) Make A Habit Of Writing
To clarify: Works with my autism. WORKS WITH MY AUTISM!!! Iâve been meeting my goals since I made them my New Yearâs resolution! Anyway Iâm so sick of all those âhow toâ guides that donât actually tell you what the process is theyâre just like âjust do it, but donât burn yourself out, do whatâs best for you!â because youâre not telling me what Iâm not supposed to be burning myself out over but okay, so I made my own. Hope this helps
1. Choose your fighter metric. What works better for you as a measurement of your progress; time spent writing or your word count? Personally I get very motivated and encouraged by seeing my word count go up and making a note of where it should be when Iâm done, so I measure by that. At the same time, a lot of people are also very discouraged by their word count and it can negatively impact their motivation to write, and in that case you may be better off working from how much time you spend writing rather than where the word count is
2. Choose your starter PokĂŠmon time frame. How often can you write before it starts to feel like a chore or a burden rather than something fun you look forward to? Many people believe that they have to write daily, but for some people this can do more harm than good. Maybe every two or three days? Weekly? Figure out what fits your schedule and go with it
3. Choose your funny third joke goal. Now that youâve got your chosen time frame to complete your goal in, whatâs a reasonable goal to aim to complete within that time frame based on the metric you chose? If your metric is your word count, how much can you reasonably and consistently write within your chosen time frame? If your metric is time spent writing, how much time can you reasonably and consistently spend writing within that time? Maybe 1000 words per week works, or maybe 10 minutes per day? The goal here is to find something that works for you and your own schedule without burning you out
4. Trial and error. Experiment with your new target and adapt it accordingly. Most people canât consistently write 1667 words per day like you do in NaNoWriMo, so we want to avoid that and aim somewhere more reasonable. If you feel like itâs too much to do in such a short time frame, either give yourself less to do or more time to do it in. If you find yourself begrudgingly writing so often that it constantly feels more like a chore than something fun, maybe consider adapting things. And if you think that you gave yourself too much wiggle room and you could do more than this consistently, give yourself more of a challenge. Everything needs to suit you and your pace and needs
5. Run your own race. Donât feel like youâre not accomplishing enough in comparison to others or not working fast enough to satisfy some arbitrary feeling of doubt. Everybody works at their own pace and slower work doesnât mean worse work. You could be on one word per day and youâll still see consistent results, which is still one word per day more than you could originally count on. All progress is progress, regardless of its speed

pairing brother's best friendÂĄnicholas chavez x femÂĄreader
summary thinking you were messaging your friend, you accidentally sent your brother's best friend a thirsty paragraph about him, with Nicholas opening it before you get a chance to delete it. what you were not expecting was the leading conversation, causing realization to wash over you as he hints your desire is not one-sided after all.
contains suggestive, sexual tension, a bit of dirty talking, a brief kiss, flustered reader, cocky nic, hes also very freaky (uhh???)
a/n this is the silliest thing ive ever written i was giggling the whole time while writing it. likes and reblogs are v much appreciated!!!
word count 1.7k
You: the amount of self control i have is insane because why do i not have this mans dick in my mouth rn please i need nic so fucking bad its not even funny anymore he is everything i want in life id let him use me any day morning afternoon n night im available ugh i dont even get the ick when its him he was acting like a dad earlier yelling at us to grill the meat right and it was so adorable ill call you daddy u want me to call u sir i dont kink shame im down for whatever king omg stop he got hurt earlier and he GROANED???? i almost fell to my knees YAHOOO he definitely whimpers #needthat 10/10 i just know its thick ooh tip pink shade #d97e77 thats insane till my knees are bruised and my throats scratched my panties fell tears are rolling down my thighs OMG PLS can you feel my pain hes so bodangshis how does my brother look at him and not wanna fuck him id be all over him if that was my friend gahhhd!!! hes actually so sweet he kept speaking to me earlier so i dont feel left out of the conversation and i find that adorable do u think he slaps it before he cums oh my his girlfriends so lucky im ab to put her in a headlock ahaha this is gross no man should have this much of an impact on u unless their dick is big and the sex is absolutely amazing yooo what he probably knows how to please a lady id be hard if i had a dick rn STOPP he has a happy trail im gonna lose it hahah lets find out where it leads i dont wanna think ab that im going crazy literally pulling my hair out that should be u baby GIVE ME A CHANCE?!!!! thinking ab him makes me so nervous this is getting a little too srs ahaha okay im sorry hows life?!? i miss u :(
Sending that message, you were anything but expecting the response you got in return, not from the man himself, thatâs for sure.
nic: oh?
nic: i think you got the wrong person
You audibly gasp, realization washing over you as you read over the message. That was, in fact, not for Nicholas, nor was it for anyone but your friend to see.
You panic, putting your phone down to process what happened, needing a moment before responding. Right, you needed to do that.
But why did he see it so fast? He didn't even give you time to comprehend your message, the text switching to read in an instant.
Hell, it was midnight, and itâs been a long, tiring day for the both of you, having been out the whole afternoon, merely to come back to the hotel and spend more time with your other friends.
Everyone decided to end the night off early; early being a bit before midnight, with you heading to your room afterwards. Your brother and his best friend shared the room taking place next to yours, making it easy to reach out to him.
And for that, you were grateful since Nicholas was with him; meaning you got to see more of him throughout this trip.
Youâve had a crush on Nicholas for god knows how long, with it starting the moment your brother befriended him. Youâve technically gone through all the phases he experienced, hell, you saw him more than your own parents.
He was sweet, a little too sweet, perhaps it bothered you. Nicholas was very known among women, he knew how to attract a lady, showering her with praises until he eventually got what he wanted.
That made you extremely jealous, knowing you couldn't have him. He was forbidden, off-limits, someone you could only admire from afar.
And that stupid crush of yours led to this conversation, one you didn't want to discuss.
You: i didnt mean to send that to you
The text switched from delivered to read right away, causing your breath to catch in your throat.
nic: clearly
nic: i dont have a gf btw
Why did he feel the need to clarify that, and why were you relieved over hearing it?
You buried your face in your pillow, feeling heat reduce from your body. Youâve never been this embarrassed before, not around Nicholas. While you were weird sometimes, it was never this bad.
He wasn't supposed to know about this, nor discover it the way he did.
You: cover your eyes pls
You: this wasn't for u
nic: you sure?
nic: are there any other nics in your life?
Your stomach twisted at the message, hand coming up to cover your mouth as an audible gasp escaped your throat. How could he say that?
You felt all sorts of emotions wash over you, unable to process each one of them as you read the message over and over again.
You: what if there is
The question was risky, it could either end with him telling your brother, or him teasing you over it and brushing it off. Either way, you couldn't have him, so why not just fuck it and go with the flow?
nic: then that would be disappointing.
Your breath caught in your throat, vision going blurry as Nicholasâ bubble kept appearing and disappearing.
nic: id really hate that you feel this way about someone else
Oh my god, were you dreaming?
You could not believe your eyes. You turned off your phone, letting the dimness of the room seep through for a moment before you unlocked your device once again, heart skipping a beat when you realized it was real.
Nicholas, your brotherâs best friend, might have been flirting with you, but thatâs just in your head, rightâŚ?
You: ??? wdym
nic: you first
nic: was this about me, doll?
The pet name made you weak to your core, spiraling you over the edge as you put your phone down for a second. You took a deep breath, feeling your face heat up at how suggestive the boy sounded.
He sounded so desperate, you weren't sure if it was the tiredness, or him being genuine. Either way, youâre fucked, because youâre willing to do anything for him, even if it means breaking your heart.
You: what if it was
You: what will you do ab it
You felt nauseous as you waited for a response, groaning when the boy disappeared for a minute. Did you say something wrong? Why did he suddenly leave?
nic: then id risk it all
Speechless. Your mouth hung open, chest filling with lust as a breath heaved out of you.
You: are you saying this because youâre tired
nic: no
nic: god no
There was no ounce of self control in your body left. You almost screamed, overwhelmed by a new sense of emotions.
Is this how it felt? Because fucking hell.
You: it is
nic: it is what?
You: this is so embarrassing
You: why are you making me admit it you know exactly what im talking about
nic: baby
nic: jus tell me
You: no you suck im going to sleep
nic: WAIT no come here youre so cute
You blushed at the message, unable to suppress the smile forming on your lips. God, heâs such an idiot. And you were totally swooned for him.
You: i literally just sent you a message talking ab how much i wanna suck your dick what about that is cute
nic: oh? so you do admit it
You: âŚ
You felt nervous, realizing how serious this has gotten. From a silly message turned into you contemplating whether this was a good idea. The last thing you were anticipating while typing that message was a confrontation, one from Nicholas; at that.
nic: you couldve told me yk
You: do you hear yourself
nic: ? what
You: nic you know this is wrong
You: youre gonna wake up tmr and forget all ab it
nic: you knkw
nic: yoirw so fucjinf hot
You came to a halt, noticing the amount of mistakes the boy was making. Your mind wandered somewhere else, feeling heat crawl past your neck, all the way to your face.
You: what are you saying
nic: fucking hell
nic: take the hint baby
You froze in your spot, tongue coming out to wet your lips, suddenly feeling heat travel to in between your legs. Donât give in, don't give in, donât give in.
You: what
nic: you couldve asked me if you were curious
nic: i wouldve happily showed you
That sent you over the edge. Your mind went fuzzy, unable to process the last few texts you received from Nicholas. He was being serious, dead serious, you were sure of that.
The texts you exchanged always revolved around your brother; usually Nicholas asking whether he was home or not. However, this one was different.
He was hinting something, something very risky that you were unable to resist.
You: dont say that
nic: what, you don't believe me?
You: nic
nic: give me five
You stared at the message on the screen, confused on what he meant. Your eyebrows furrowed with puzzlement, awaiting a message, merely to get nothing in return.
As you were about to shut your phone and go to sleep, it pinged, the notification startling you awake. You clicked on it immediately, mind going hazy as you read the message over and over again.
nic: open the door
nic: im outside your room
You didnât hesitate as you got up, swiftly walking your way to the door. You unlocked it with haste, vision going blurry as you caught sight of Nicholas, who was standing inches away from you now.
He looked just as desperate as you were, maybe even more. And that was it, it was all you needed to pull him by the collar and cease the distance between you two.
The moment his lips collided with yours, you realized that maybe itâs worth ending up with a broken heart, because Nicholas tastes fucking addicting, and you found every way to make good use out of that obsession.
The possession of knowing heâs off limits, yet here he was, eagerly kissing you numb.

the other thing I find very funny about trying to write a canon compliant wol is taking all the wolship hints extremely seriously.
I don't really wolship because I'm just fundamentally not that kind of fan. But I know for those who are, the sheer number of romance hints FFXIV throws at you can be overwhelming to parse in a context where you have a preferred/intended wolship, particularly if you're not attracted to the gender the hints are coming from in the first place (a particular tip of the hat to wlw fans navigating the g'raha of it all). I've seen plenty of people write around them or write them out or be like "no aymeric was for real inviting my wol to a nice platonic zero-subtext dinner," and God bless all of you.
But it's really funny to imagine them all as all-too-real but unreciprocated or perhaps unreciprocatable. The sheer scale of it is comedy. Spoilers for all of FFXIV follow.
Oh God, the Lord Speaker wants to have dinner, just the two of us, at his family estate and not a government building. I hope he doesn't bring up his crush on me. Thal's balls he's about to bring it upâoh thank God there's an emergency. Oh no someone got hurt! Oh no it's the teenage girl with a crush on me.
Your life is a cosmic joke. You watch the Sultana get poisoned and all your friends probably die to save your life and it's kind of all your fault in some ways, I mean at the very least you should've spoken up when they gave the teenager a private army, and then the teenage boy speaks up and is like, "hey, I guess we have at least one ally. What about if we go visit that guy who is really obviously down unbelievably bad for you and wants to lick the sweat off of you." and you have to be like, yeah, Alphinaud. Great idea. Let's do it. I'll call him.
(brief interlude: also haurchefant's DEATH hits so good if you don't reciprocate. It's okay. He gets it. You're going through a lot and even if you had time to sort through your feelings maybe you're just not into him. That would be okay! You can love someone, or the idea of someone, without needing it to be romantically reciprocated. That's chivalric, even. Knightly. So he won't ask you to lie to him and say you love him as he lies dying in your arms. He's not so low as all that. But could you smile for him as you used to? That true hero's smile of yours. And you do, and he dies. And you both know he died for a lie, in a way, or a flight of fancy. And he's okay with that. Are you? Should you be? Should he?)
Then you're into Stormblood and it's like wow, okay. That last part was all high fantasy, of course there were loyal knights and elegant princes. But this is war. Imperialism. Grim business, surely there's no wayâoh no BOTH handsome young revolutionary leaders seem to have a special interest in you?! And so does the Crown Prince of the Empire? Come on, man. I should get to do the whole horrors of war thing without having to also deal with this. Gaius sucked and it was weird that he let his foster daughter run around being openly obsessed with him but at least he never made it my problem.
You can't even get away from it across dimensions. Shadowbringers is a horror story about going on a teambuilding camping trip with your work colleagues for some reason except they all suddenly got really hot and they keep touching you affectionately on the shoulder and being like "I care for you and your happiness. Truly." And also you're being stalked for the whole camping trip by two old men who are obsessed with you. The false climax of the story is that the one old man tries to betray you and give a dramatic monologue about how he loves you but the two of you are doomed by the narrative and then the other old man shoots him in the back like "no actually its MY turn to betray them and give a dramatic monologue about how our love is doomed by the narrative." Then the real climax is old man #1 backstabbing old man #2 in the middle of said monologue before old man #2 dies and gives ANOTHER wistful monologue about his doomed love. Then for the patches they're like okay so we have this even CRAZIER old man who's gonna strike when you're weak and give a dramatic monoloâ
and that's without even getting into the literal soulmate ghost only you can see
my warrior of light never felt more betrayed than in that scene where Y'shtola is like "haha Alisaie and G'raha have crushes on the warrior of light." Like I thought we were COOL, Y'shtola! I work here! This situation is already in such a delicate balance! Right when I got here I met Alisaie's "friend from work" who was like oh haha so YOU'RE the one she can't stop talking about and we never followed up on that because the woman died horrifically like five minutes later right in front of us! Then when Vauthry got away and we had to do all that shit with the dwarves, G'raha kept pausing every ten minutes to be like oooooh I'm so old I'm gonna die soon...at least I got to spend some time with some people who are really important to me...in fact here's what I'd tell the person who's most important to me...actually u know them really well haha. And I just had to sit there and be like wow, dude, crazy.
even in the face of apocalypse you still gotta go back in time like 12,000 years and there's somewhere there who makes you sit and listen to his story which is that the purpose of his whole godlike immortal life was to be in a throuple with you and old man #2 from the camping trip. and you just gotta sit there the whole time knowing you/your past life is the one who broke up the throuple over politics. He's like come help me harangue the old man into streaking in public, he'll do it if you ask.
then you meet and fight and kill God and you gotta turn to the team and be like hey sorry guys can you give me a sec. I'm gonna call God by her real name because we met one time for like four days and after that the promise of meeting me again was one of the things that sustained her through her millennia of suffering. Not like that but like. Idk. Just gimme a sec!
It's a relief when you finally get to Lahabrea and he's like actually I still don't fuck with your vibe. Like thank GOD.
And my WoL is very obviously dad-shaped so Dawntrail had a very specific energy for me but I understand that for plenty of people your deepening rapport with Wuk Lamat had a romantic subtext (same for Koana depending on how you read a few of his lines). And personally I think it's the height of comedy to be like, noooo, babe, your highness, I know you and your brother the king are in love with me and want me to stick around and support you emotionally through this governmental transition haha. But it's just...the cursed wineglass, babe. I GOTTA go figure out what's up with this cursed wineglass.
It's a running gag in some of the more optional content that people are like "you have an unreasonable number of hobbies and side gigs" to the WoL from time to time. But if every time you tried picking up a new hobby some new elf started baring their soul to you, you too would be like Hey Jessie (or sometimes Krile or Tataru), my good friend who is one of the only people in my life who knows what professional ethics and work-life boundaries are, any chance you need muscle on a gig on the other side of the world? Ideally with only Cid and his ex so all libidinal energy in the room is directed towards machinery or someone who isn't me?
ironically one of the only places you get a break from psychosexual obsession is the nier content

Approaching footsteps roused my mind. They thudded dully against wooden floorboardsâpausing only to whisper mutely, 'This is not funny. Where are you?'
I tried to focus on my breathing, fingers working sluggishly as they wiped themselves clean against the bottom hem of my dress.
'Woman!' The voice was shrill and urgent this time, ringing terribly in my ear. The sounds of it's accompanying steps diminished as they hurried past my position on the floor, all dizzy on my knees.
'Benedict!' I hissed. The bright interior blurring as I made to stand up, legs wobbly beneath the unsteady weight of my torso.
There was a muffled squeak through the wall, shoes whirling against polished wood. Indicating him turning on his heel. 'Most, esteemed woman?' He tried again, punctuating the words as he half joked, half not. Simply hopeful hollow flattery would spur me into giving further clues to my whereabouts.
'Get in here at once!' I threw my finger toward the floor, as if he could see me do it and I'd sucesfully conveyed the sense of urgency. But the world spun suddenly, and I staggered a few steps until I caught myself on the nearest wall. The window I'd opened wasn't doing much except chilling my damp skin with the occasional draft.
With a last few steps, he darted to the door that separating us and four quaint knocks rapped aginst it. I gritted my teeth, annoyance taking over the hand. 'Yes, come on in.' Still, I willed my voice into the least irritable tone I could muster. This was not his fault, after all.
'Ahâ' he sighed and pushed the door open. 'âgodess. . .' There was a mocking tone to the word and a satisfied grin on his lips, but it quickly fell as his eyes scoured over my appearance and utter devastation replaced it.
I wiped my forehead free of the beading sweat, and it too, began to tingle just like my fingertips hadâto my horror, I realisedâI'd probably just added more of whatever that dust was into my system. Now seeping through my skin and diluting my blood, impairing my usually keen senses with whatever toxins it provided.
He hurried to my side in big, worried strides to lay and arm around my back, steadying me when I couldn't steady myself. 'Wha-' He couldn't even form a word of surprise, his jaw slack as he gestured with his free hand to my dishevelled appearance. 'Why are you in Colins room? In this, state?' He quickly added. If I wasn't mistaken, which I might very well have been considering I didn't have full use of my mind. But, I could almost detect jealousy in his tone.
He would get the wrong idea, about Colin. 'Well,' I tried being nonchalant, tried to act like the places he made contact with my skin did not burn for him. I screwed my eyes shut and pulled all my focus into an answer. 'The wine got to my head, and I realised,' My words came out sluthered and slow. 'I hadn't been in here before, and. . .' My head began nodding of its own accord, already finding my unsaid words agreeable. '. . .it had to be remedied.'
'Of course, of course it did.' Benedict sighed, his shoulders shrugging in exasperation as he began looking around, presumably to find something for me to sit on, but his eyes fastened on something else instead. I cringed, for his eyes darted from the open rucksack, then back to me. The look he gave me was nothing but disapproving. But goodness, he was stading so close. His breaths warm against my cheek and mildly stained by alcoholic bevrages, much like mine must've been. But oh, the fire in his eyes gave me quite a start, not that I was fearful of it. In fact, I found the opposite to be true. It almost felt as if I had abaorbed it, and it traveled downward. . . 'You went through his belongings?'
My mind froze, the newfound aching in my body too distracting. 'I. . .' I felt my eyes narrow and forehead furrow, my dull reflexes attempting a poor pretence of thoughts. 'I couldn't help myself. I'm sorry. But there was this box, with some strange flower inside. . .' I trailed off. An amused, tipsy smile making it's way onto my face as I noted his incredulous expression.
His hands slid down my arm, and the sensation traveled straight to my core. Causing the need to stifle a moan arise.
'And you thought it a good idea to touch a foreign plant of which you know nothing of?' He spoke fast, too fast for me to keep up. Especially when goosebumps ran rampid in the wake of his touch, when my core ached for him to continue, to push his body further into mine. My heart beat too fast, his hand too close to the pulse point on my wrist.
My hand found it's way beneath his jaw, a wide grin splaying across my face. 'Wine will do that to a gentlewoman.' I explained, sluthering slightly. But feeling no more explanation to be necessary.
He screwed his eyes shut and stood completley still for a moment, I could almost see the thoughts swirling in the crammed space of his mind. 'Well,' he looked at me once again, searching my eyes. 'What gentleman would I be to leave a woman in need to her own devices?' He opened the box and grabbed the flower without hesitation, feeling its vevelty petals, rubbing the dust between his fingertips and then- tasted it.
Currents of static electricity zapped beneath my chest, spreading throughout me body. Everything happened so fast. And all I could do was watch, very intently, as the pads of his middle- and index finger made contact with his tongue, swiping clean against it. Lips then closing around them to suck whatever remained off. The heat building in my body was nothing short of sinful, and the thoughtsâmy thoughtsâwere even worse.
'Let's go.'
'Pardon?' Precious air left my lungs, leaving me breathless.
'Dinner with the Bridgertons.'
'I figured it to be out of the question.' My expression confounded.
'Colin is already downstairs, and we must find out what exactly that plant is-' He stopped. Eyes all of a sudden distant as they grazed over my features, landing on my lips. He still held my wrist, stroking the inside with gentle circles.
'Ben?' It was summer in the country, this much I knew. But surely, the temperature could not rise as fast as it just did. Sweat was pooling at my back, beneath my bust. And I began to wish, that he would simply. . . Lick-
'We must go.' I declared, clearing my throat. Hoping the words would snap us out of our trance.
'Right, of course.' He nodded, a blush sweeping across his cheeks. His eyes suddenly keen to examine the floor. But he kept his han his hand on the small of my back, urging me down the halls of the big house. Ocassionally, he'd scrunch the fabric of my dress, feeling the flexing of my back beneath the tips of his fingers. It pulled my attention to the sensitivity of my skin, and the pleasure his small, simple action gave me.
The next thing I knew, I was being helped into a chair at the center of the dining table. Benedict laid a hand on my shoulder that was meant to be reassuring, but it had an impact much more wicked on me. He took the seat across from me, and oh so conveniently placed himself next to Colin. Conversation grew heavy as Violet became quite inquisitive with her children. Eloise's debut, Anthony's proposal plans, and who he was planning on the recieving end. I would usually have been elbow deep in the gossip and drama, but my mind was elsewhere, muddled or perhaps tainted, as I couldn't focus on much of anything. Their voices grew sharp in my ears, the candlelight too bright for my eyes.
Ben leaned in to whisper in Colin's ear, who's eyes grew wide. Looking at me with growing worry, in fact, he almost looked like he would be sick.
I could understand why. Slouched in my seat, looking generally ill and doing more drinking than eating. Which was most likely only adding to the growing problem rather than subduing it. But oh, was he handsome. Flushed, he combed a hand through his hair. Slicking it with the dampness from his forehead, his eyes darting over my figure every now and then. Whatever that flower was, it seemed to be getting to him too. Colin opened his mouth to answer Ben.
'How are you dear, you look a little I'll.' Violet asked with genuine worry, interrupting the boys hushed conversation and turned them onto me with anxious eyes.
'I'm well.' I smiled, feeling as though my own voice was not mine.
Ben's eyes creased, a grin spreading over his lips, and then began giggling.
The conversations cut, and everyone stared at him. 'Are you quite alright, dear?' Violets eyes were full of concern, now placed upon him instead. I didn't yet know if it was warranted or not. But I was glad he pulled any lingering eyes from my current state.
'I apologise.' The words were strained as he pushed them out between more fluttering giggles, leading him to cover his blushing face. 'Her lady just told me something stunningly funny, that is all.' Benedict gestured to me, his eyes glinting with mischief. That little-
'Truly?' Violet smiled expectantly, something like understanding in her eyes. That cunning look she always gave her children when she knew something they didn't. Perhaps she'd taken my demeanour as that of a girl with a hidden crush, only anxious under the gaze of her love. She wouldn't be entirely wrong. Long had I known the Bridgertons, and even longer had I liked Ben.
I cleared my throat, blinking away the haze in my eyes. 'I'm uncertain of its propriety. . .' I tried to redirect, a drop of sweat sliding down my temple as I nervously glanced around at the members of the family. And ufortunately, I felt a bubbling up inside my chest, a composition of my own laughter. 'It was, uhm. . .' I paused, working hard to keep a smile from creeping onto my lips. Trying desperate to think of something to say. Anything, really.
'Well, let's hear it.' Anthony said with a grin, and the rest of the table agreed. Eloise being little more than a heap of snickers, Colin seeming to be the only one who gained little to no amusement from the situation.
Watching my struggles and deeming them incredibly funny, Benedicts giggles evovled and he burst out laughing. I was second behind him, but the table quickly joined in with a chorus of incredulous chuckles and wild looks of incomprehension. 'What is the matter with you two?' Eloise asked, her eyes watery as she clutched stomache.
We locked eyes, Ben and I. Both now scorching, judging from the trickling sweat on his neck and the tickling down my back. Warmth spread throughout my chest, and something fluttered in my stumache. Something was terribly wrong with the flower for me to feel so deeply, so suddenly.
Colin took his chance when Benedict had calmed himself, leaning in to whisper in his ear. Ben's face offered an array of reactions ti every word spoken. Confusion, surprise, anger. It was enough for me to conclude that something was not right, and that was when his eyes went wide. 'Then why would you not keep a lock on it, brother?' He shouted, his voice much louder than anticipated. Worry grew in me as I carefully studied their expressions, replacing all my previous feelings of joy. Colin whispered again, his lips moving eratically as he shook his head, clearly distressed and displeased. Ben's eyes locked on mine a second time, again, they were full of fire. However, something told me it was not of the same sort I'd seen earlier today, this was not anger. No, it was something else entierly. 'Pardon us, drar family. But the lady and I must be excused.' He claimed suddenly, turning to his mother and Anthony. 'We have urgent business that need tending to.'
'âmy parents estate. . .' I cut in, sensing the graveness behind his words. It cant be good if his mood had changed so quickly. The family gave me an odd look, and I scrambled further, not wishing for them to get the wrong impression. 'The art- the art in their estate. We had a Lively discussion before dinner. . . Hence the art. Because he's an artist.' I paused my rambling lips, they did me more bad than good. I stood hastily, the rich pulsing around me as I did so, almost knocking the chair to the floor. I smoothed my dress out and exited the diningroom with an "excuse me" and a unecessary curtsy.
Rushing down hallways, I brushed my hand along the wall for support. Benedict's footsteps only a pace behind my own. He placed a hand on my hip, to brace me or simply because he wanted to fell me, I did not know.
Stopping outside my rooms, I urged him to explain. 'Apparently,' he began, rubbing the nape of his neck. I knew that tell. 'It's not, good news. . .'
I leaned back against the doorframe, my body drenched in sweat. The wafting of my fan doing nothing to help. 'Benedict Bridgerton, tell me immediately.' I growled.
'Its an aphrodesiac. It means-'
I expelled a strained breath. 'I know what it means, Ben. Continue.' The air blew against the exposed skin of of my chest, cooking it effectively.
Benedict hesitated, none of this was proper. Yet, his eyes lingered on the growing goosebumps over my breasts. His gaze sliding to my throat, watching it bob as I swallowed a big breath of air. 'We are friends Ben, discussing such things educationally does not betray social rules.' I tried to convince us both.
He nodded absentmindedly, his eyes snapping back to mine with a newfound reverence. He himself staggering as his balance perception had been knocked down a peg. It was really starting to get to him, so I grabbed his jacket to steady him. 'Its pollen is poisonous in large amounts, If consumed and left untreated, lethal.'
I swallowed again, the world spinning as my mind fumbled his words, turning them over and over in my head. 'Considering the side-effects,' I gestured with the fan between the two of us. 'I gather we have large amounts in our blood.'
To this he nodded, the uncertainty in his eyes replaced with a wicked smile spreading across his lips. 'Clever girl.'
His praise felt like a punch to the gut. Although not knocing the air out of me, it did leave me in pain. 'And how do we cure it?' I tried to distract myself, my breathing was growing uneven, my thoughts a haze. And Benedict Bridgerton, looking more and more like something I'd like to devour.
His hand braced against the doorframe above my head ti stabilise him, his tall frame nkw looming over me, our faces stopping only a few inches appart. 'By working it out of our systems, by executing certain activities,' he murmured, studying me under hodded eyes and parted lips. 'The burning needs to be sated. If not, it will develop into fever, the throat will close and-'
'Alright, that's quite enough.' I gestured for him to stop. My lip trembling, my body burning as I looked at him through my lashes. 'What exactly are these activities?' I had a feeling, a hunch, where this was going.
'You must forgive my crudeness.' He took my hands in his free one, managing to wrap his considerably larger one around both of mine. 'By love making.' He was even closer now, his nose touching my cheekbone as he whispered in my ear. 'Sex.' His breaths were ragged, on edge. His tongue darting out to wet his lips. He stopped himself, closing his eyes. His forehead lulling against mine. Most likely taming himself jusy like I had to, trying not to think of the multiple worst case scenarios.
'We cannot stay out here, somebody will see us.' I warned, my nose rubbing against his. My body so taunt, tense, it needed desperate release. My spine was still recovering from that word. It had shaped a ball of anticipation in the pit of my stumache. It could ruin me, my prospects. I only just debuted. But- sex. . . That was all I wanted in this moment, and I wanted it with this man.
I looked him in the eyes and opened the door to my bedchamber. 'I love a tragedy, an epic story of true love ending in death.' I whispered, moving my hands around his. 'But we are not lovers.' Taking a few steps back, I led him inside. 'So, lets make this count.' He followed me willingly, his eyes loyal and round like a puppy's as he gazed at me with adoration. And the door fell shut behind him.
'What if we were?' His voice was low and burdened with lust. One hand coming to stroke a few strands of hair from my cheek.
I blinked, barely comprehending his touch. 'We shall not perish, Benedict. I refuse.'
'No, but we could love.'
'What?' My brows furrowed.
'Perhaps, you could find it in your heart to love me, as I have always loved you.' He paused. The next words were heavy as they hung from the tip of his tounge. 'Let me make love to you.' His voice vibrating from the strain of on his chest. He took a step closer, his chest pressing flush against mine. 'Let me teach you.' His voice was pleading, and I had to crane my neck to keep his eye contact. 'Marry me. . .' His hands cupped my face. '. . .marry me.' he leaned in, whispering the words against my lips.
I nodded slowly. 'Teach me.' And our lips clashed together.
Years worth of structural limitations evaporated, society and politics a thing of the past as Benedict raised my skirt, found purchase under my thighs and pulled me into his embrace. His skilled tongue finding its way into my mouth with ease.
He walked us backward, gently laying me down on my bed despite the urgency of our lust. 'What do you need?' He asked through muffled moans, his lips busy with mine. I could not think, nothing about my being would work with me. 'Talk to me, what do you need?' He breathed, voice almost a whimper as his hands squeezed my hips, urging me to answer.
'You,' I managed. 'I need you.' I could feel him smile against my lips.
'Do you trust me, love?'
'Always.'
He pushed off me, hooked his hands under my knees and pulled me to the edge of the bed.
Then kneeled.
Benedict, the man that he is, stood on his knees before me. Between my legs, he smiled a wicked smile. My body was limp in his touch, completely at his disposal. The aching cravings of my core did not care what he did, as long as it was he who did it.
His hands dove under the hem of my skirt, tracing my legs upward, hitching the fabric on his wrists. He stopped above my knees, kneeding them thoughtfully as his eyes searched mine. It took my mind a second to wrap around his request, it was already so painfully clear to me that I would agree at any given moment of our time together that I could not fathom him wanting further confirmation. 'Yes. . . Please.'
He wasted no time. He was hungry. He flipped the skirt over my abdomen and got to work. Immidietly lowering himself onto my mound, lipping a stripe from my core to my clit and he moaned.
A shuddering whimper left me, if it was from his reaction or the sensation of his tongue I would never know. Proudly, he wrapped his lips around me clit and vegan sucking, licking and nipping. It was unlike anything I'd ever felt before, my fingers could never compete with his expertise. My body wriggled involuntairly, compelling him to hold my hips down with one hand, and taking it as a sign to slide the other along the inside of my thigh and burry a finger inside me, pumling it in an out.
I cried out, covering my mouth as my free hand dove into his hair. Pulling and scratching, I urged him to continue. But somewhere inside me, worry built. What about him? My eyes glanced over the still beading sweat on his forehead, afraid it might be the fever Ben had spoken of. 'What about you?' I whimpered, stroking his hair in a gentler fashion as he continued his contrasting assault on my mound.
'What about me?' He moaned, voice muffled by my skin and shrugged, sliding another finger inside me. His eyes studying my reaction, the way my body moved. I cried out again, biting my lip this time to stifle it as my other hand entwined with the one he held at my hip.
'Is it enough for you?' The words were expelled on an exhale, my voice pitched from continously pleasure, but beneath there was worry. And he noticed.
He chuckled breathely against my clit. 'I do not care about me.' His eyes met mine, and a strike of lighting shot through me, a whimper escaping me with furrowed brows. And he continued with a groan. 'Giving you pleasure is all I need.' And added a third finger, curling them inside me. Their size was admirable, especially as they hit some special spot inside me.
My back arched and a tidal wave of pleasure rolled over me, the pressure that'd been builing in my stumache finally released.
He watched me intently. 'Let me hear you.' He requested, continuing to move his fingers as he helped me through my orgasm, palming himself through his pants with his free hand. I obliged him. A string of curses unbefitting of a lady left my lips in whimpers.
'It takes talent to make such vulgar words sound pretty.' He licked another stripe along my folds, gathering my orgasm on his tongue and swallowed greedily. A strained grunt left him, and he collapsed into my lap, a shiver running through his body. My hand left his to brace myself on my forearm, gathering a better view of him as I combed my hand through his hair soothingly, and that's when I noticed the wet spot on his pants. I gasped. 'It was truly enough for you?' I ovserved him in awe, the aching beginning to roar inside me yet again.
'I told you,' He panted, sucking his fingers clean between his attempts to catch his breath and tilted his head to look up at me. Such a sinful act embedded so innocently. 'You are enough for me, pretty girl.' Now it was not only mor core which ached, but my heart also. Still on his knees, he let himself regenerate in my lap whilst his adoring eyes romaed my face. A show of devotion, of resignation, of love.
I moved to sit, his head still in my lap as he circled his arms around my waist, gaze still locked on mine. 'I love you.' I whispered, brushing the damp hair from his forehead.
His eyes softened impossibly more. 'I've always, always been in love with you. Since the first week of our meeting.'
My chest ached. 'Why have you never told me so?'
'Throwing our friendship away based on chance was not odds I was willing to risk.' He hugged me tighter, then stood up. 'But im afraid, that were not out of the woods yet.' He said, un buttoning his shirt and pants. 'Im feeling quite feverish.' His eyes glistened with mischief, and let the coat fall from his shoulders.
'If you want me again, you need only say so.' I smiled, now it was my time to look up at him with loving eyes.
'I want you again.' He removed his shirt, and I hade to collect my breath for a second. 'Stand, my love. We will do this properly.' He took my hands and helped me to my feet, turned me around and undid my dress and corset. Again, It made me realise just how much experience he had.
When I stood in only my chemise, feeling naked and vunerable. He stood in only his breeches. Nothing my nervous state, he said. 'We can leave it on, love.' Searching my eyes.
But I shook my head, if I was to have all of him, he was to have all of me. 'Please.' I whispered, motioning for him to take it off me. And he did, it slid down my body easily. Gradually exposing every inch of skin only me and most likely my maids had seen.
He stood struck for a moment, unmoving, unspeaking. Until- 'I do not deserve you.' He awed, 'Beautiful, beautiful woman.' Reaching his hand out to stroke my biceps, my abdomen, eyes searching mine before they traveled further up.
'You do, if any man ever was to. It would be you.' I promised him, and at this he blushed. I grabbed his hand and laid it atop my breast. With a groan, he stepped closer. His free hand cupping my face as the other massaged my breast, and his lips met mine. Softly, his hand slid around my back, guiding me back knto the bed, laying me carefully down on the pillows. 'Princess.' He breathed, sat back and removed his breeches. I did not have time to fawn over his size until he was on me again. Hooking my leg on his knee, he spread it wide. Bracing on a forearm, his face was inches from mine as he lowers himself on top of me. His thick length grazing my clit. Sensitive and burning, stillâI noticed. The polled had yet to leave our system, perhaps it deadliness had subdued, but it's symptoms were yet in full effect.
Benedict nuzzled my cheek. 'Tell me what you want.' He whispered in my ear.
'You, all of you.'
'Be more specific, dearest.'
I swallowed, my breathing growing heavier. 'Sex.' I murmured, and his lips formed a smiled against my jaw. 'I want sex.'
'I would want nothing more than to give it to you.' He breathed, and lined himself up with my entrance. Then pushed himself in, gently, but consistently. My whimpered only spurring him on, not stopping until he reached the hilt. He'd done his job well, since I easily adjusted around him. 'Good girl.' He whispered, tracing kisses from my lips to my neck. 'Taking me so well.'
I ached, arching my back, I needed more. My skin was growing more and more sensitive. 'Please, Ben. . .'
That was all he needed to hear. He pulled out and thrusted into me again, moving my entire body with each stroke and it was like nothing I've ever felt before. 'Holy-' I interrupted myself with a moan.
He chuckled, but truthfully it was more of a moan. 'Feel so good.' He murmured against my skin, kissing the tender spot between my shoulder and throat. 'Like I imagined.'
Pause. He's thought of me? In this way? With. . . women, by himself?
'When, tell me when.'
'Always. I thinn of you when I lay with other women, I think of you when I touch myself.' His hand ran down my body, squeezing my breast as he drove himself deeper. And I had to wonderâwere those acts specific details of his dreams, desires? 'You occupy my mind, always.' He said quite breathlessly.
'Show me, show me how you want me.'
He pulled out if me, hooked my legs over his shoulders and thrusted back in. Every rut of his hips hitting that sweet spot inside me, wrecking me over and over again. Strained breaths against my throat became the outcome of his efforts, as the power behind each thrust pushed me deeper into the mattress. 'What else, show me what else. I'm yours.' I moaned.
His lips found mine, and his hand my throat. Gently, he enveloped it. Softly, he squeezed. 'Say it again.' His lips murmured against mine, kissing them between every breath he labored.
'I'm yours.' I whispered, and he groaned. A particularly forcefull thrust was made into me. He was never rough in anything he did, but he put his back into it. Always the gentleman, never the brute. I've never been happier for a man to be so contrasting.
The burning, the aching, the pressure. It was all towering, waiting to be pushed over at any second. 'Mine,' he moaned. 'My love.' His pace quickened and ruts hardened. He was as close as I was. 'I love you. . .' He whimpered and spilled himself inside of me. And I came a second later, irregular thrusts carrying me through my blinding orgasm. 'I love you.' He told me over and over again as he let my legs fall to his sides, and collapsed onto my smaller figure. With his head on my chest, I held him. 'I love you too.'
'Marry me, then.'
'Give me a ring, then.' I giggled. He made to stand up, to slither out of my embrace. 'Not now!'
'Tomorrow, then?' He laid back down, this time wrapping his arms around me and pulled me close.
'Tomorrow, then.' I confirmed. Id never been so happy as in that moment.

Do NOT Support Hard Drive On Patreon
You might see friends today suggesting you support Hard Drive on Patreon today. You know, the funny video games version of The Onion? As a journalist, I will firmly tell you DO NOT GIVE THEM A DIME.
The CEO has pushed out all former staff that have built the site up to its current greatness and has been pushing the use of AI. The staff begged to have a Patreon before basically all being pushed out, but the idea was refused until now, when it will only line the pockets of a single person instead of hard working writers.
I know they might have provided laughs before, but Hard Drive is a shell of what it was once. Let it die and support the people who actually made those moments of joy possible. Don't believe me? Check out what former employees are saying below:
Kevin Podas: Okay you know what, I would feel bad saying nothing about this, so here goes:đ¨SAVE YOUR MONEYđ¨
We passionately advocated for a Patreon at Hard Drive & were aggressively shot down. The talent & people who built the site were pushed out. To see this now is beyond upsetting. For the past few years or so I put a lot of myself into this website. I pitched a ton of jokes, got over 120 articles published, & met a lot of great people. I'm sure if you've been following me for some time you could easily see this.
However, there is a lot of misinformation. I was eventually promoted to Managing Editor of the site & was ecstatic. Grateful for the opportunity. Felt like all of my hard work in the comedy mines was finally paying off. But things took a turn for the worst, & each day there were new surprises that affected our livelihoods. These were all very avoidable surprises, mind you.
A patreon was going to be our hail mary, but alas, for some reason, the power that be did not want it. Causing us to leave a dream job behind. "At least we did all we could," we consoled ourselves afterwards. I put a lot of myself into this project. I pitched all sorts of ideas that could have helped-- we all did. Merch collaborations, Patreon-integrated YouTube content, so much more. And most of them were shot down out of sheer stubbornness and nothing more. To see lie after lie spread, and multiple big publications and YouTubers that I am a fan of promote this Patreon under these pretenses is incredibly upsetting. There are so many receipts.
Please share this and consider pulling out if you've already put money into this. On Hard Drive using AI, also from Kevin Podas: I can't personally confirm that part aside from some of the recent header images for articles on both Hard Drive and Hard Times are being made with AI. As far as writing, it's been mentioned in the past, but I personally do not know. Maybe others do, maybe not. MORE From Kevin Podas suggesting the owner denying a Patreon being set up earlier cost an artist a job that was replaced by AI: We had a social media person who was awesome! He made the images until this AI implementation. He had to leave because ad revenue was low and a Patreon was aggressively refused.
Luca Fisher: at the risk of burning some bridges, i have to back up kevin here. i've only been part-time, in-and-out of hard drive since i got in last year, but i can corroborate that management doubled and tripled down about not hosting a patreon/crowdfunding and that many other suggestions and ideas, including mine (and ones much smarter than mine!), were shot down in really long, apocalyptic threads of everyone left on deck desperately trying to come up with ways to keep the lights on. managerially it has been messy and sad
i've written for multiple publications that have long since died, ones that were in the process of dying, and ones that, in this case, are soon to be put in the ground. it is sad and sucks every time. i don't know what could have been done differently, but i do know that a lot of great writers and content creators were left shorthanded and unhappy by the way things have gone. and it is sort of puzzling to see the sudden championing of patreon after we were all told plenty of times that it couldn't work and we should move on also, just to add my own personal two cents here, i was really disappointed by the shuttering of many different article sections on the site over the past 6-8 months. i understand cutting corners in a deficit, and i know it had to be done. that saidâŚ
all in all, i'm really sad to see this all happen. i don't fault anyone, if only because i don't really know enough about how this all can happen to make sense of it. games journalism is in a sad, sorry state, and will likely no longer be a thing in the next decade
VideoSealMan: I'm gonna say this because I think I deserve to. For months, MONTHS on end I was bugging Hard Drive management about a Patreon. Often I got ignored for a week+, but when I actually got a response I was encouraged to - of all things, write up a Google Doc pitching the concept I did it regardless. I wasn't the only one trying to sway management on a Patreon, but so fiercely was I fighting for it that last night, I was accused of making this comment directly by the CEO! With no evidence whatsoever! After I'd been gone for over a month.
I vouched so hard for Patreon because I wanted all the writers and creatives working with Hard Drive including myself to get paid better. When I actually got a response, the idea was often shut down. Eventually due to the state of my company, my pay was cut for a second time I confronted management alongside a couple other important figureheads at the org and told them that if we couldn't do a Patreon - I could no longer financially justify staying there. The answer was still no, so I left. Baffled at the decision, but whatever.
It is unendingly frustrating to know that myself and many other people who put their soul into Hard Drive LEFT because of management's absolute refusal to compromise on a Patreon, to then see them launch one anyway a month later and get over 1000 people pledging money. I'm seeing a lot of things float around about greed and people being fired. No one was fired. Everyone who left, left because they were sick of management's decision-making. And honestly, management is a lot of things but I would not call them greedy. (From my experience.) They did genuinely make an effort to pay people as much as possible. I found the pay very fair for a while. I am not disputing that I was paid what I was owed - yet management frequently feels the need to remind critics of that. Lmao, yes. I was paid what I was owed. No one is disputing payment. You did the bare minimum a business owner should do and paid everyone their due, very well done. I make no allegations of greed, cheating or foul play. I make allegations of poor management and incompetence that has fucked over other people.
Basically the only people left at Hard Drive have been there for about 2 months. They will reap the rewards of this successful Patreon I and so many others passionately fought for for so long. We will not see a dime.
I do not know the new people at Hard Drive, But I feel bad for them. They were haphazardly thrust into Hard Drive's workplace with little to no explanation on how anything works, or given any context on the state of the place. Even now managements feeds them half-truths and misinformation about other people's grievances. I am broke and have been for a while. I had to move out of my flat in Reading and back with my family because of how little money I was making. This has basically doomed my flatmate to moving back in with abusive parents, which is something I feel guilty about every day. If we had gone with the Patreon I worked myself hoarse over back then, this could have been avoided. Some of my other good pals could also not have been fucked over.
It was a bad judgment call, but it's not a crime. It's just management getting it wrong.
So should you give to the Hard Drive Patreon? I don't know! I don't think any of the new people working there to patch up the holes left by the recent mass exodus have any bad intentions. Maybe they deserve it! But it is not the same site you knew a year ago, or even a month ago. Myself and many people who were there far longer than me and did far more for it than I did are all gone now because we could not deal with management's terrible decision-making and dogass communication any longer. That's what you should know, imo
I had an agreement in place with management that I would receive the next 8 months of revenue from the Hard Drive YT channel from my leaving in November. This was a deal I appreciated, and thought was very fair on management's behalf. So far, the deal has been honoured for 2 months. However as of last night I was removed from the Hard Drive Slack without warning, and as an editor for the YouTube channel. This means I no longer have any way of verifying how much I am owed, I just have to take their word for it. I'm sure management will make their own statements full of half-truths and weird language on the many cases being brought against them - I'd take everything they say with a pinch of salt if some of the screenshots I've seen of them talking about me are any indication lol
To management; I do not want to talk to you. I want you to DM me a screenshot of how much I'm owed every month and then send me the money per our agreement until June, then we can go our separate ways. Do that and admit to your mistakes, and maybe you can recover your reputation! That's it from me, lol. If they pull out of the deal and fuck me over I'll have more to say, but most of what I know is other people's stories of incompetence and poor decision-making, lol. I genuinely get no pleasure out of doing this; I do not think management is evil - I just think they're really bad at what they do and it's cost other, more talented people, lol. You should believe the writers imo
One last thing I wanna say btw, management did often stress that no one should try to make Hard Drive a full time thing. They were transparent about that, and that is fair. I was working on it because at a few points, I was lead to believe we actually were doing a Patreon. Many other ppl have similar stories of being strung along by management changing their minds and stop-starting shit every 2 weeks. We all made the fatal mistake of overestimating our manager - who would tell you one thing one day and something totally opposite the next week lol
Hunter R. Thompson:
I'm not your dad, but speaking as a Hard Drive writer, I don't know that funding Hard Drive on Patreon is worth it
The driving talent on the back endâbehind the kickass site I joined in 2019âhave peaced out over the years as the site's been (in our view) increasingly mismanaged. Mismanagement like, not setting up crowdfunding before the ship sank and all its best crew failed; or publishing a screenshot of Andy Ngo pedojacketing a trans writer, complete with her deadname; or a disgruntled ex-writer getting falsely accused of shit-talk, by actual staff. I'm grateful for the writing I've gotten to produce for HD (and will forever be kicking myself for not writing even more, in the four years I've had to do it!! i'm a dumbass!!!) but it is very much no longer the site I signed up for.
I don't want to resign as a contributor altogether, because I'm open to the idea of the site recovering and bad practices being retired as finances level out-- it would just be dishonest for potential backers to not be Aware Of The Circumstances, I think.
Jeremy Kaplowitz: i truly don't want to start shit, but feel compelled to say: i want to see Hard Drive succeed w/o resorting to throwing former writers & editors, myself included, under the bus. surely there's a way to save the site without building it over the corpses of those who left. my $0.02 i don't blame anyone who wants to sign up for the HD patreon and i support the website, but that includes those who worked on it for years, have complaints, and don't deserve to be treated like bitter assholes like this kind of stuff is just objectively true, meanwhile there's these new writers who joined the site after i left (meaning, in the last ~3 months) claiming people are liars. decide for yourself if you care, but this is what happened! [Quotes this Tweet]
Seth Finkelstein: Writing for Hard Drive has been a privilege the past few years, and it makes me so angry to see people I looked up to get jerked around behind the scenes. The amount of grenades the editors jumped on our behalf is immense, and I don't think the way they're being treated is right.
Other Bits On AI: We do know for sure however that AI art has been used by the site. Its fucking owner confirms it here:https://twitter.com/MattSaincome/status/1743040541603123622. Seems the owner pushed AI written articles as well! TayFabe: My vaguetweet is making the rounds & these made me apoplectic. - owner regularly lobbied using ai. Once he tested it & said ai was writing better satire than 25% of the HT/HD writers. - ai images were used on the site & socials w/o consulting the team or disclosing it publicly I found the ai bit relevant to include bc 1) it illuminates a stark change in HD's current direction & leadership, 2) ai images have previously been used on the site and (since deleted) ig posts, 3) ai content fucking sucks, and repeatedly pushing to use it is a telling quality The "handful of writers who chose to leave" includes 2 editors-in-chief (both cofounders who wrote a combined total of >1,000 articles & defined the voice of HD), & at least 3 other editors. These guys put in WORK since 2017, so cool to be corrected by ppl who joined in Nov 2023 [Link to mentioned vague tweet from post.] More from TayFabe: owner continuously lobbied for using ai in every possible way. No one else wanted to do it, but he kept on, saying ai was writing better satire than 25% of the HT/HD writers. Also, ai images were used on the site & socials without public disclosure or consulting the team.
The owner has responded now multiple times in a private discord... Thank you for people sharing screenshots! First Screenshot:
Kevin's Response: He banned me from the server for speaking out, so no, I didn't see it. And he gave no indication of a timeline, it was just "we'll do one when *I* say so" and gave every inclination he was totally against it. It bred an environment that pushed our hands to have to leave. Screenshot Round Two:
Kevin's Response: "Starting one in 3 months" is an absolute lie. He denied it, I have screenshots and others who can confirm. No timeline was given. Just "this is what it is now" and like, I couldn't live off of that. I wanted to do more but he was allergic to good ideas from others around him.
Matt, owner of Hard Drive, responds publicly on Twitter.
Matt: Kevin, the patreon launch was delayed because I didn't think it would work. Everyone is happy that it did work. Everyone who left the site because we didn't have money to pay for creative content which didn't revenue is welcome to return home. But unclear why the hostility.
Hard Drive paid out literally every dollar it had, then a bunch more, to creative people who worked on the site. When we ran out of money, we couldn't pay anymore. We did our best.
Kevin: Right, and my point of this thread was that it was completely and totally avoidable. This is reasonable to be upset about. How could I have been any more clear?
Matt: If we knew with 100% certainly that the community would have supported us via patreon, we would have done that. We didn't know. We had tried 4 years ago and got no support. We were wrong this time. We did our best to figure it out. We paid all the money we could.
Kevin: So you knew with 100% certainty this time? Or you took a leap of faith?
Matt: It was a last gasp panic effort after ad rates got cut in half on january 1st due to seasonal spending changes. We didn't know it would work. We were embarrassed to ask for support. We wanted to figure it out.
Kevin: Every site has a Patreon. Every YouTuber, comedy group, etc. But you insisted that nobody cared about Hard Drive. Which is wildly untrue. I know you see that now, but again, I think you can see why I and many others are pretty upset. A last ditch panic effort was long overdue. A couple more things from Matt:
It was about the size of the hole we needed plugged budget wise, the time I had left of personal resources, and the past data I had about us trying a patreon (which turned out to be a bad indicator). I didn't think the Patreon would help us fast enough. I made a bad estimation
aka "if we make $1000 more dollars a month via patreon, which would be 10x what we got last time, we will not solve any of our problems. If instead we try to plow down path B, we might make it out in time." That was the thinking. I chose the wrong path, but didn't mean to Kevin also retweeted this comment from the user Matt was responding to: So you're saying that you're bad at running the business, didn't listen to any of your employees until after they were forced to leave their jobs, and now you're going to get more of the money from the Patreon that was their idea in the first place? Matt's Response: Respectfully, I made a mistake delaying the patreon decision. But keeping a comedy site alive for 9 years is not easy, there are lots of potential ideas, and think overall we've done a good and honorable job. Will leave this thread in peace now to allow people their space.
Sorry for linking to Elon's hellsite (derogatory), but sources need links so...

Mahito x darling
TW: NSFW, noncon, psychological torture, Mahito in and of himself
fem reader
Mahito is so scary because you're the only one who sees him.Â
You can't tell your friends, you can't call the cops, you can't even discuss it with your therapist for fear of being committed.Â
You're all alone with him â half the time convinced youâre going insane.
He doesn't even need to kidnap you. Why would he? He likes your cozy apartment. To see you in your natural habitat with all your personal trinkets. Your books, your decorations, the contents of your fridge, your makeup, your clothes, not to mention the soft warmth of your bedâŚ
Sure, his sewer has its charm, but you probably wouldnât like it there very much. Not that it would stop him, but heâs sure youâd be boring if all you did was stay cooped up there all day.Â
This is much more interesting. To be there when you come home from work, having trifled through all your belongings, dragged everything out â made a mess like a new puppy would. To watch you try to cling to your sanity, going about life, trying to live it normally even when heâs right there on your sofa wanting to dish about how much you loath your pissy boss or that loud neighbor and what fun it might be to kill them.
You brush him off as intrusive thoughts â a manifestation within your mind. Thatâs the only explanation that allows you to keep your wits with you.
But itâs become hard to bring anyone home. Even though others can't see him, heâll walk about your friends and the odd date and comment on all the things they do, ridiculing them when they say something cheesy, feigning puking before giving it away with a snicker, then asking you why you bother hanging out with them at all. And you wonder if thatâs what you really think⌠why else would a figment of your imagination say something like that?
No. You decide. He doesnât represent your thoughts. Heâs just⌠a roommate who knows no boundaries.Â
Funny enough, you donât really recognize that heâs any dangerous before youâre getting dressed after a shower, opening a drawer on your dresser you rarely look in â only to find it overfilled with dozens of tiny shrunken heads.
You scurry back on the floor with your hand clasped over your mouth until your back meets your bed â skin crawling. Thereâs no air left in your lungs from the shock to produce any such thing as a scream â so instead, you start heaving â then crying.
âOh â I was wondering when youâd find them!â A cheer is heard from your bedroom threshold.
Your eyes pan to look at him â or it. Mahito, with a big grin on his face â clapping as though impressed by your performance.
âWh-what â what is this?â You splutter, trying not to throw up â casting shifty glances over at the lump that had fallen to the floor â its face twisted with agony, unrecognizable, but you think you still knew⌠âWhat have you done?â
It doesnât smell of rot, but something else â like unwashed clothing â sweat and piss and shit â you donât understand how you hadnât smelled it before. You donât understand how you hadnât heard it before â the moaning, though only in hoarse weak voices, still there, in a chorus, crying in pain.
âIâve been studying them.â He says â casually, padding across the floor before bending down to pick the one up.
He looked at it with disappointment, throwing it up and catching it like one would a baseball â then clicked his tongue.Â
âBut I must say youâve got boring taste⌠I donât feel like I learned much of use from any of them at all.âÂ
He drops it to the floor in a fleshy splat, and you cringed anew â wanting to crawl away, wanting to get out, to call the police â maybe it wasnât such a bad idea to be committed â maybe there was something genuinely wrong with youâŚ
Mahito doesn't share your concerns, though. Heâs got his mind on other things.Â
âI think Iâll learn better through practice.â
You donât realize what heâs talking about before youâre being lifted up on the bed and then pushed down against it.
His lean but muscular frame has you dwarfed as he crawls after you â caging you between his arms and legs.
âI wouldnât mind the floor, but Iâm sure youâd prefer the bed. Thatâs how you humans usually like it, right?â He smiles â as though heâs doing you a favor.Â
Heâs taken off his usual tunic â showcasing a pale grey chest patchworked together in crude stitches â and you donât really understand why youâd ever conjure something that looked like it. So human, yet stillâŚÂ so not.Â
âI didnât know what size youâd want â they were all so different â but I think bigger is better, isnât it?â
It doesnât register before you feel the weight of it on your stomach.Â
Fat and warm, ridged with veins and hard against you.Â
Looking down, feeling the situation settle on your skin like the raw cold â you realize, though you donât understand it â Mahito isnât just some imaginary friend.Â
Whatever he is â heâs no such thing as a friend at all.
Your chest flares. âMahito, no â â
Your hands fly to try and push him off, but theyâre easily caught. His fingers stretch inhumanly like playdough, using only one hand to reign in both wrists, pinning them to the pillow above you.
âNo? Still too small?â He asks, as though your uproar had been a cry for more â his voice in a playful lilt. âI can make it bigger if you like~â
You squirm when the thing between your thighs grows an inch â swelling up into something fatter than your wrist â weighty and twitching atop you.Â
It alone churns your guts, but the sight of his face gleaming so innocently makes it all so much worse.Â
You whimper as he drags a rude finger through your folds â bluntly poking at your hole.
âYouâre supposed to be wet, no?â He posed, keen eyes watching your face grimace in discomfort â drilling his digit inside you despite it.Â
When knuckle-deep, he curled it, nail scraping into the gummy of your tender walls â making your whole body twist with an ache, shaking your head while sinking your teeth into your lip.
âStop-â You croaked pitifully, still trying to wring your wrists free â but the hand keeping them jailed had hardened into something that was no longer skin.
He just yawned at your struggle. âSo noisy...â Bored while looking down at you and the ugly way your lips curled at his crude fingering â but then his eyes widened. âWait â oh! I get it now! So, this is what kissing is forâŚâ
He didnât give you much time to turn away before his mouth locked on yours â more in an attempt to swallow than to kiss, feeding you his tongue â which felt so much longer than it should be â winding through you until it licked your gag-reflex and made you choke.
You tensed in response, clenching the finger prodding you â and he took it as an invitation to squeeze another in â making you squeal out a sob in his mouth.Â
But though it was a cruel ministration, it was enough to tickle the instinct â dragging wet out from within you, bathing the digits that now slid with greater ease in and out.
âSee~ I told you Iâd learn better through practice...â He mumbled against your lips â having felt the change â also noticing the quiet that befell you⌠looking so cute beneath him.Â
He chuckled â the taste of your kiss still warm and wet on his lips.
âThat really did shut you up, hm~Â you humans are so funny.â
That thing resting heavily on your belly does a little jump, and you flinch with it. Left panting after being throat-fucked by a tongue â youâre really only able to shake your head as he slips the beastly thing down between your thighs â its fat head licking your clit on its way until kissing your entrance.
Two fingers haven't done you any justice â nothing could â to prep you for something of that size.
âI think this is correctâŚâ He muses, nudging himself against the slim coin-sized hole â looking a little confused while he did so â though not exactly unsure of himself⌠more as though it was the whole procedure in and of itself that was at fault and not him. He was just following instructions, after all.
Sucking his teeth at the tautness, he continued to press the tip through you.Â
A whine was ripped from your chest as it arched off the bed â thighs quaking on each side of his hips, kept spread despite wanting to force themselves shut.
âItâs better if you relax.â He offered then, though without much sympathy. Sounding almost jaded â as though you were keeping him waiting.Â
But then a thumb pressed down on your clit, forcing another jolt to rush through you.Â
âWomen like to be touched here, right?â He rubbed crass circles into it â worse than amateurishly â rough patterns that bore no real intention of making you feel good.Â
Then his mouth slid from your mouth, down your neck â only to sink teeth in your tit.
âAnd here~â He giggled while nomming your nipple, rolling the little nib between his teeth before flicking over it with his tongue again and again, sucking on it harshly.
None of it made you relax like heâd suggested. Either way, he continued to sink his length one thick chub at a time as fast as your hole allowed. And soon enough, he reached your end before your hole could reach his. But that was no issueâŚ
The hand on your clit, cupped your mound instead â and beneath it, where warmth pooled, you felt inner things alter â change, rearrange, allowing the giant member inside you to sink deeper even though you knew there couldnât possibly be any deeper to go.
âWow~ look at thatâŚâ He awed when his pelvis smushed against your mound â kneading into your clit as he pressed a curious hand down on the bulge he was making in your belly.
Strings of drool stuck from his lips to your chest â and a sick look pooled in his eyes.
Thicker and thicker breaths left him. He swallowed thickly. Barely blinking.
âI think I get it nowâŚâ His voice had shed its humorous tone, now sounding soft with something you didnât want to have the attention of. âItâs like our souls are playing togetherâŚâÂ
His hand stroked your stomach â like he was petting something.
âFeels good.â

"phobia"
i literally can't stop writing for this mf, flufffff :(
satoru gojo x reader
Synopsis: you are an incredibly talented sorcerer, but your deadly fear of spiders tends to interfere with your daily life every now and then. it doesn't help when you happen to encounter a curse that looks just like one
to sum it up: satoru is always there for you to kill a spider when you need him to
WC: 2,764
Warning(s): arachnophobia, icky spiders
The burden of a Jujutsu Sorcerer was taxing beyond comprehension, which of course was why it paid so well.
Sorcerers were expected to give their lives each day within the battlefield, watching as their comrades and the people they were expected to protect die left and right at the hands of the morbid amalgamations of human beingsâ worst possible fears, anxieties, doubts, and other nasty negative emotions.
To be a sorcerer was to sacrifice oneself, to accept death before it inevitably took its toll on those around you, and then eventually, on you yourself. This was why sorcerers were expected and trained to be strong, fierce, and with perhaps a few screws loose in their heads to allow them to plow full force into danger with no fears and no regrets.Â
Sorcerers were meant to be fearless.
And in many ways, you truly were. You were a first grade sorcerer, more than capable of handling yourself in the face of adversity. You were proficient, quick on your feet, merciless when you had to be, and above all, you were confident in your abilities, which was just as important of a trait to have as a sorcerer as courageousness.Â
You were a proud woman, content that you could put your skills to good use by aiding those who were weak and helpless, by saving as many lives as you could alongside your colleagues at Jujutsu Tech.Â
You were a damn good sorcerer too, only, there remained a small matter that often seemed to creep up on you at the worst of times. Something you had tried desperately to overcome through years of training, therapy, private meetings with Yaga, and more. Something that had been clinging to you since the very moment you were born, and something you were still somehow unable to completely escape well into your twenty-sixth year of life.Â
And that was your deathly fear of spiders.
You admitted that it was silly, that to have made it this far within the world of sorcery after having encountered more horrors than most people could imagine, a little fear of spiders was completely absurd. You knew it didnât make any sense, that this fear of yours was beneath you, but that didnât stop you from shrieking horribly and seeking shelter each time you saw a spider crawling along the wall of your apartment.Â
You knew that you should have had more patience with yourself, for there was no way of conquering a fear if you refused to acknowledge it as valid, but come on. You were a grade 1 sorcerer for godâs sake, a professor at Jujutsu High teaching students to cast their fears aside to focus their emotions and energies into properly honing in on their techniques, yet you still couldnât get over being squeamish any time you saw those little demons hurdling their way over the earth.Â
In your mind, they were far worse than curses, a source of terror that must have been executed.Â
Nevertheless, you kept your fears to yourself for the sake of your occupation and reputation. The only person who knew anything about this vulnerability of yours was your boyfriend, Satoru, and even he found it funny at times to tease you about such a small thing in a world plagued by monsters and curse-users. He had seen you slice open a curse all the way down the middle of its body with a blank face, blood spattering in all directions, but spiders were what got you.Â
While he poked fun, he still harbored an understanding that beneath the hardened exterior sorcerers were forced to put up, you were all born of flesh and blood just as any other living being on this planet.Â
Satoru was quick to rush to your apartment whenever you called him screaming, standing atop your bed and jumping up and down on your cushions in fear upon catching sight of one of those nasty things. He would throw your door open, catch you in your rather comical position, and hold back a fit of laughter upon seeing you.
âSATORU, SHUT UP AND JUST KILL IT! PLEASE!â
âCalm down, pretty, itâs not gonna hurt you,â he would say, a sickening smirk gracing his gorgeous features. âYouâve faced much worse things than this.â
âI donât care!â youâd sob. âJust kill it please!â
And once he was finished picking on you, heâd hurry to your aid, approaching the bug in the corner and flicking his finger, rendering the creature dead.Â
Then afterwards, heâd always hold out his arms for you to jump down into them once you determined it was safe, cooing into your ear as you threw your arms and legs around him, his hand holding your head.Â
âYou were so brave, baby. Good job, you got through it.â
It was humbling, to say the least, for the strongest to witness you in such a weak state, but despite Satoruâs teasing, he still took you very seriously. He didnât diminish your strengths or your worths because of a simple fear. Hell, he had fears that he had buried deep within his gut that only you could drag out of him, and that was okay. Satoru poked fun, but he never judged his precious girl for feeling.Â
After all, he enjoyed the fact that you were comfortable enough to let him see you in such a light after long days of having to be strong, just like him. He liked that he could help you with this one thing, even if it meant teleporting into your room at two in the morning on a work day. As long as he was taking care of you, he didnât care less what you needed. When you needed him, he would be at your aid within a heartbeat.Â
And in this moment, you really, really did need him.
Yaga had sent you on a quick solo mission to eradicate a few low grade curses at a nearby summer camp facility while most of the other sorcerers were busy with training or on leave for other missions. It was a quick and easy task for you, granted that your grade was much higher than those of the curses you would be exorcizing.
Only, what Yaga failed to inform you, and likely did not know or care about, was that one of these particular curses was unlike the rest. While you easily winded through the three other creatures, the very last one at the end of the corridor caught you by surprise.Â
Your face was hardened as you whipped your head around, sensing the presence of the last curse within the space. Once your eyes landed on the source of the cursed energy, however, your face dropped and your eyes shrank in terror.
There before you cowered a three foot tall dark purple curse which took an arachnoid shape, with an array of beady red eyes atop its head and eight hair legs digging into the wood of the floorboards. Your heart dropped and your mouth ran dry, your body freezing in its tracks. You couldnât move, you couldnât think, you couldnât do anything. Of all the first grade curses you had come across in your lifetime, this grade 3 creature would be the very first thing that stood between you and seeing the light of day.
The curse hissed, chattering its chelicerae-like mouth as its legs tapped restlessly against the floor, sending a horrid shiver up your spine. You were stronger than this, braver than this, you knew you were, but your legs had gone to jelly and your heart was pounding in your ears. Perhaps if you had been given a warning ahead of time. you would have been able to approach this threat differently, but instead, much to your shame, you took off in the opposite direction once your legs willed you to move.Â
You could hear it crawling after you down the hall, screeching out nonsensical sounds as it rounded the corner to follow you. You were quick to duck into the first room you saw, slamming the door shut behind you and pressing your back against the surface. You searched the room in a panic, which you discovered to be a dorm, and ran to take cover in a closet in the corner.
You trembled, sinking down to the bottom of the platform as heavy, panicked breaths wracked your body. This was pathetic. This was humiliating. You were better than this, but god, this fear, those damned spiders would always get the best of you, despite how hard you tried to help it.Â
You were trembling, squeezing your eyes shut as whimpers spilled from your quivering lips. That thing was so big, bigger than any spider you had encountered, and while you understood it was a curse, it looked far too real.Â
You didnât know what to do. You had to finish this mission, and the principal wouldnât accept a sorry excuse about you being too afraid to exorcize a curse because it looked like a spider for an answer as to why you would come running back to the school. It sounded ridiculous! Especially for someone with your skill.Â
You could hear the creature running up and down the halls erratically, its gross legs clicking against the walls. You pressed your lips together tightly, wrapping your arms around yourself. You wanted this to stop.
Hesitantly, you reached into the pocket of your uniform to shakily pull out your phone. You breathed out heavily, on the verge of a panic attack, trembling fingers dialing your boyfriendâs number with his. You lifted the phone to your ear and listened to it ring.
Then it clicked.
âHello? Baby?â Satoruâs comforting voice spoke into the phone, a sigh of relief escaping you. âWhatâs up? You done with that little mission yet?â
âS-Satoru?â you whispered, voice trembling harshly. Immediately, the sorcerer on the other line knew something was off.
â(Y/n)? Whatâs wrong?â his tone dropped with urgency. âWhat happened? Are you okay?â
You pursed your lips again, muffling a pathetic sob that was prepared to break past your mouth. You scrunched your eyes closed, the confined space doing very little to ease your nerves. Satoru could only hear the choked whines that left you, and he was on his feet, captured with instant worry.Â
âBaby, talk to me. I need to know youâre okay. Tell me what happened. Where are you?â
âT-TheâŚâ you stammered, struggling to get it out.
âDeep breaths, pretty. Breathe.â
You gulped, knocking your head back against the wood, taking a moment to release a few sharp breaths. âThe camp,â you managed to whimper.Â
âYouâre still there?â he asked, almost incredulously. âDid something happen? Were the curses higher grades than you were told? Iâm on my way right now.â
âNo, i-itâs,â you shook, pressing your phone to your forehead. âItâs- a s-spiderâŚâ
There was a pause as Satoru processed what you were saying. âA spider?â he repeated. âWhat do you mean?â
âThe last curse,â you exhaled. âItâs a spider, Toru, it looks like a damn big ass spider,â you rambled. âIâm so scared, I'm sorry, please come help me.â
âOh, baby,â he sighed. âIâm coming, donât worry. Stay where you are, Iâll find you.â
You nodded rapidly, scrunching your face as tears pricked your eyes. âM-kay.â
You tucked your phone away and within exactly two seconds, you heard a whooshing sound from outside, followed by the screech of the curse. You heard its legs clatter along the walls once more before another tormented, animalistic cry, and then there was nothing.Â
You waited silently, hugging your knees to your chest as footsteps ascended. â(Y/n)?!â you heard Satoruâs voice through the walls, and your shoulders slumped with alleviation. You heard the door to the room open and you slowly reached up to the closet door handle, creaking it open to peer outside.
There, you saw your boyfriend standing in the doorway, gaze finally landing on you beneath his blindfold. The moment he saw you, he dropped his arms, pained by the sight of you curled up in hiding out of fear. â(Y/n),â his gentle voice breathed out as he stepped further into the room, extending his arms in that same manner he always did when comforting you.
The second you saw the motion, you were breaking. The reality of your weakness came crashing down on you, and your lips wobbled as you climbed out of the closet and fell into his warm embrace. You shook against him, embarrassed, petrified. You were the partner of the strongest sorcerer of the modern age, and this was what you were. Powerless at the will of a low grade curse.
âItâs alright, baby, Iâm here. Please donât cry, pretty. Itâs okay, I got you,â he murmured against your temple, pressing his soft lips to it then to the crown of your head as you buried your face in his chest.Â
âSatoru,â you sniffled into him, clinging to the fabric of his black suit as he wrapped you into his warmth.
âShh, itâs okay. Itâs okay.âÂ
âI-Is it gone?â
âYeah, baby. I got rid of it. Itâs all gone, donât worry,â he whispered. He hated seeing you like this. Normally when you faced spiders, the interaction was far more lighthearted. You would screech, sure, but you had always recovered fairly quickly after he had killed one. Granted, you had never encountered a spider as big as the one that you just saw, but Satoru was aching upon witnessing how rattled you were by this thing. âYou got the rest of them, baby. You did so good, you know that? My strong girl.â
He was so loving with his praise as he eased you down from your high, rubbing your hair and pressing his palm to your waist, letting you know that you were safe with him.Â
âMâsorry,â you mumbled into him and he looked down, pulling away slightly to hear you better and to get a look at your face. He tilted your chin up so that you could look at him, your eyes glossy and your brows pinched.
âWhat are you sorry for, pretty?â he asked you genuinely, heart clenching as he smoothed his thumb over your flushed cheek.Â
âCause,â you sniffed again. âI shouldâve been able to handle this. Itâs so stupid. I dragged you here to get rid of something so small.â
âHey,â he said with firm tenderness, holding your cheek so that your eyes stayed on his. âDonât do that.â
âB-But, I should be able to-â
âStop. I wonât listen to you beat on yourself for being afraid,â he shook his head. âYouâre so strong, (Y/n). You always have been, but we all have our weaknesses and thereâs nothing wrong with that.â
âSays you,â you muttered, guilt catching your eyes. âYouâre the strongest.â
âAnd you know better than anyone that thatâs just a title,â Satoru said earnestly. âYes thereâs truth to it, but none of that takes away from the things that keep me up at night. Just like your grade doesnât take away your fears.â
He traced the curve of your jaw softly, lifting his free hand to remove his blindfold and tuck it into his pocket. You watched as his white hair fell over his face and his sapphire eyes washed over you, displaying his loving, concerned, understanding gaze.Â
âBut that doesnât mean weâre not strong. Itâs okay to be scared as long as you know Iâm here to help you, and as long as I know youâre here to help me.â
You could feel a lump building in your throat as he gazed at you and he curled his brows, jutting out his bottom lip slightly.Â
âDonât look at me like that, princess, youâll make me cry,â he said, catching your face in both of his large palms as your hands moved to delicately hold his wrists. âCâmere, baby,â he whispered, drawing your forehead to his lips. The sorcerer then kissed the bridge of your nose and the edge of your brow before letting you fall back into him, wrapping your arms tightly around his torso as he held you close.
You melted into him and closed your eyes. âLove you, Satoru,â you murmured into him.
He kissed your head again, resting his cheek atop you. âI love you, too, (Y/n). Letâs get you home and all cleaned up, yeah?â
You nodded against him, thankful to the universe that the man you loved made being vulnerable feel like a gentle, welcoming, consuming form of unconditional love.Â
But, fuck, did you hate spiders.

HEAR ME OUT
former fboy barty who is now madly in love with reader and reader is like his first actual serious girlfriend
ARE WE SEEING THE VISION
I'M SEEING THE VISION HERE YOU GO; also, it's a continuation of this post but can be read as a standalone
Barty Crouch Jr x fem!reader who doesn't do 'casual' [1k words]
CW: brief mention of past harassment, mention of past sexual encounter but nothing explicit and SFW
Barty said goodbye to Evan in way of putting his hand against his mouth to get him to stop talking and then shoving his face away from him as he started taking purposeful strides for you.Â
Heâd only opted to come to class today in hopes of seeing you, and heâd only deigned to hang around afterwards so that he could talk to you after you finished speaking with the Professor.
Barty had been struggling to get you out of his mind for over a week now ever since you approached him in the club asking him to pretend to be your boyfriend, which ended in a very enjoyable romp afterwards.
And heâd be lying if he wasnât hoping for another tryst as he pulled the door open for you before youâd even had a chance to push it; a look of wary surprise crossing your face before it melted into a smile.
That smile made him feel funny.Â
âWell hello, my darling girlfriend.â He teased as he fell into step with you.Â
âHello, Barty.â You chuckled as you gently nudged him with your elbow. âAlright?â
âFantastic, thank you. Iâve been thinking about the fun we had the other night.â He said as he moved to stand in front of you, smiling in that way of his that he knew usually got him what he wanted.
You simply smirked knowingly and raised an eyebrow at him. âWhat? Fleeing from a bar without paying your tab?â
Barty scoffed and waved you off. âMy dad owns that bar, itâs fine. No, I meant what happened afterwards.â
You hummed in acknowledgment as you scrutinised him. âYou mean when I thanked you profusely-â
â-multiple times-â Barty amended, earning him a salacious grin from you.
â-multiple times, for saving me from that creep?â
âPrecisely.â Barty agreed with a nod.Â
âThat was fun.â You admitted, to which Barty quickly agreed. âBut I don't think so, Barty. Sorry.â
âOh⌠oh! OkayâŚerm, may I ask why not?â He sputtered as he took two long strides in order to catch up with you as you continued walking across campus.Â
âYou may.â You relented simply, smirking when you saw Barty roll his eyes from your periphery.Â
âOkayâŚwhy not?â
âIâŚlisten, I had fun and I donât regret it, but I donât usually doâŚcasual.â You admitted, looking embarrassed for all intents and purposes as you stared down at Bartyâs shoes and chewed on your lower lip.Â
âCasual.â Barty parroted, fighting the urge to relieve your lower lip from its torment and, perhaps disturbingly, afflict it to his own torment.Â
âRight, IâŚI donât usually do casual sex, that was uhmâŚthat was a one time thing for me.âÂ
âOh, soâŚso, you only have sex when youâre dating someone?â Barty concluded.
âRight.â
âGreat. Go on a date with me.âÂ
You barked a laugh as you continued walking, only to turn and see that Barty wasnât following nor was he laughing as he was really quite serious.
âAre you-âŚyouâre not serious, are you?â
âMmm, nope, Iâm quite serious, actually.â He responded.
âBarty.â You huffed somewhat chidingly. âIâve never once seen you speak to the same girl twice. Well, save Meadows, but Iâm quite certain she likes girls, so.â
Barty simply shrugged at you, not seeing at all what the issue was here. âThereâs a first time for everything, no? Iâm standing here talking to you for a second time, am I not?âÂ
âIâm justâŚIâm looking for something serious, Barty.â
âI can be serious!â He argued rather petulantly.Â
âIâm not going to ask you for something you might not be capable of giving me.â You sighed.
âAre you challenging me? Is this a challenge? Because Iâll have you know Iâve never once lost a bet.â
âIâm not challenging you, Barty.â You laughed affectionately at him. âMonogamy and commitment isnât your thing, and thatâs fine! Iâm not judging you or blaming you at all; I just think we might want different things.â
Barty stepped forward so that he was standing but a few inches from you, forcing you to look up at him. âWell, what I want is you.â
âYou want me right now.â You whispered back; some of the fight clearly leaving you as you searched between his eyes.
âIâll prove it. Let me prove it to you.â He insisted, daring to push some of your hair falling from its restraint away from your eyes.Â
You sighed somewhat sadly as your bottom lip threatened to jut out. âIâm not worth breaking your rules for, Barty.â
âI think I can decide that for myself, no?â He murmured back.
He had to admit this is the softest heâd ever been with anyone before, but it was also the softest heâd ever felt with anyone before.
He didnât usually get caught up on people; not like this, not like you.Â
But you awoke something inside of him that night when you darted out of the sea of bodies like he was the last life raft of a sinking ship, your eyes wild and desperate as you clung to him.
He was always down for a ruse, so when youâd asked him to pretend to be your boyfriend he was more than happy to cause a little chaos. But when heâd heard you were scared, harassed, bothered? Well, the deep, black, protective rage that had him nearly fusing your body to his was something completely foreign to him.
He wanted more of it.
He wanted you.
And if this is what you needed from him? Well, heâd be that for you.Â
âTeach me? Iâm a quick learner, rather clever too.â He asked as he tilted your head up by your chin and forced you to look at him.Â
âIâŚI donât want to be an experiment.â
âI donât either.â He agreed. âI just want you to be mine.â
You searched his eyes for a few more moments before letting out a dramatic sigh.Â
âFine, but I will be teaching you and there will be a quiz at the end of this so do keep up.â You hollered at him over your shoulder, though your small smile gave away the fact that it was all for show.
âDonât you worry, treasure; I perform very well on tests.â
