they werent lying that knuckles series barely has knuckles in it
#i pirated that shit Btw just so we're clear. also gonna talk about it a little bit in the tags#nothing too spoilery but also might not wanna read if you want to go in knowing absolutely nothing? idk#anyway he WAS a main character still he was present for a decent amount of the first couple episodes#but the amount of screentime he gets just starts dropping after that . hes barely there at all in the second half ???#and it feels like theres a lot of scenes mostly focusing on wade and his problems and not near as many for knuckles and his whole deal#overall it feels more like a wade show with knuckles in it than a knuckles show with wade in it. which sucks#and human characters having plot relevance isnt the problem here i dont mind human characters at all i think they can be really fun#its the fact that the human characters are taking over the story and spotlight when the show is called knuckles#and all the marketing makes it look like knuckles is the main focus#and i also would have preferred if they just went with a differnet character to be knuckles' human friend#because i dont particulraly care about wade. and the knuckles (and sonic and tails) i know would not be friends with cops </3#well at least the story wasnt knuckles training wade to be a better cop like a lot of people were expecting but thats like.the bare minimum#also aside from the issues relating to knuckles' screentime (or lack of screentime) i thought the ending was unsatisfying#regardless of all that though there WERE some parts i enjoyed or found kind of funny or whatever. because knuckles so cutesy as always#knuckles being a cute little guy is the most important part of the show actually#and i liked the parts with sonic tails and maddie even if they were only there for like 5 minutes#(i really wish those three had gotten more screentime. i feel like they could have easily worked in at least one more scene with them)#and its a minor thing but the opening sequence is cute. was honestly expecting just a title card or something#overall the show is just . kind of okay i guess. not the worst thing ive ever seen but still disappointing ? idk how to explain..#my expectations also werent very high in the first place#so maybe im being a bit more generous than i would have been otherwise. idk#and i definitely would not recommend this to anyone who already dislikes the sonic movies . youll probably hate this more#like people who thought the human characters got too much screentime in the second movie would lose their minds if they saw this

Swift Close family notes Trying to iron out design details More Cass-related hcs below!
Cassandra's parent(s) or possible siblings aren't mentioned in canon but I imagine she may have a family tattoo thing also. It looks like a keychain/charm set with each charm representing a family member--she got an addition added for Taylor after he was born of course :) (thinking its a sparkly star shape? He's her little star...)
She may have a charm on the tattoo that she vaguely remembers represents Nicky but can't remember why its a little cat devil. And she may not be romantically interested in him anymore but he's still family in her mind so she doesn't get that tattoo part removed
This is part of the "Cass used to know her ex partner was a demon" agenda
I think Taylor wears pairs of her sunglasses a lot and she asks if he wants her to buy him a pair one day. He responds with a no because what he likes about these sunglasses is that they belong to his super cool mom (simply best mom ever) and so they must be the best sunglasses ever. Cass may or may not have teared up some at that, smiled and said softly "I love you," and pulled him in for a hug
its really sweet that the two of them are so clearly affectionate in canon!! so I feel like that wouldn't be an unreasonable way for her to react in the moment
#taylor swift dndads#dndads taylor swift#cassandra swift#nicky freeman#nicky foster#nick foster#nick close#nick close foster#dndads headcanon#dndads s2#dndads#dndads spoilers#kinda? not sure if its really spoilery but just in case#I know this is kinda random but also...Cass getting a flower tattoo to represent Sparrow in the scenario of them becoming super close#in a swift sunday kinda mood...may doodle a bit more today#Also also in my mind Sparrow (and Lark) have a lot of little tattoos scattered around too so Sparrow would probably get something#to represent Cass as well...#unsure what image it would be...will think on that some more#dndads fanart#abeinginsand art tag#abeingsand talk tag

Kirishima and Other Women
Among the criticism and complaints of Raise Wa Tanin Ga Ii aka Yakuza Fiance the most common is about how Kirishima "cheats" but what if I were to tell you this aspect of him actually serves an important point within the narrative? Because it does, in fact it serves a few.
First and foremost this is common in the Yakuza subculture. The series is a bit of a send off to Yakuza subculture and media with references that tend to go over your head unless you are into it (most go over mine). This is no different. While this isn't as narratively important it is important to know overall, the series embraces all things Yakuza the good and the bad (unlike some other Yakuza series but that not a rant for here) And like it's implied pretty much all the guys in the series to it to some degree yes even Shoma. I only have some knowledge of this myself so I won't get into it but I would recommend looking into cause it is interesting and makes sense for the series to incorporate on some level due to this and it would feel wrong to not mention it.
Now lets go onto to something more meaty and kinda spoilery, so don't read (though I don't think it will ruin your enjoyment)
So these other women actually help to better understand Kirishima and his relationship/feelings towards Yoshino. One detail the anime leaves out is who these women are and they are women. All college age or older, and all some kind of working professional who has skills or connections Kirishima does not have. Remember Kirishima is not technically Yakuza so he does not have access to resources that actual members of the group have but because he is involved with that world still he has to find a way to make up for what he resources he lacks. The safest resource he has found over the years is women.
Just like how Yoshino unintentionally raises the ire of women, Kirishima does the same to men both intentionally and unintentionally. He has difficulty connecting with people which is a topic in and of itself, but because of this he has learnt how to gain connections on a superficial level so he only does so with those he can feel some control over or feel safer. AKA Women. Kirishima knows he's attractive, and he knows how easy it is to charm people but those had an ongoing connection with are those who understand it's a game and want something back.
It's all quid prop quo, he does something for them and so they in turn do something for him. FYI I'm pretty sure what he's getting out of it isn't psychical pleasure, information, connections and a safe house for sure but actual enjoyment from sex? Not likely again the anime doesn't show it very well but many manga readers have noted how disconnected Kirishima looks during these moments. (Which I will fully get to later) It's an exchange when Yoshino calls him gigolo she's not wrong, and there is a greater discussion to be had here about how early Kirishima started doing this and all the messy stuff that comes with it but because we don't have enough information on how that started I won't get into it. (and its a little off topic)
Overall all though this shows the audience that Kirishima has a kind of warped view of sex and intimacy, he views it as a resource he can use much like his fighting ability, to him it's the same thing. At least at the start.
When Tsubaki tells Kirishima that he is actually very easy to understand when she has Yoshino there to compare, I believe this was a hint the author was giving us. To understand Kirishima and how he really feels about Yoshino who just need to look at how he is with other women.
It is INCREDIBLY telling that the closest thing Kirishima has to an ex-girlfriend is Nao, because notice how that term is never used within the story by the pair as to what their relationship was. Nao calls Ozu an ex but not Kirishima, he's just a guy she had a fling with (with a weird age gap) even though she seems to care more about him than Ozu (another deep dive I'll probably do). Kirishima also never uses the term, he does note that he did like her to some degree more than likely a little more than the other women he has similar situationships with but it was still at its core transactional. They both wanted what the other could offer more than them as a person. (also just fucking for weeks isn't a relationship) Kirishima always keep everyone at a distance, keeps everything close to the vest, makes sure the situation is advantageous to him so he can't get screwed over, every single one. Except Yoshino.
You see it constantly in the series as Kirishima WANTS to connect with Yoshino. He wants to better understand and connect with her in ways he has never bothered to before. In fact you can argue that Kirishima is actually more emotionally unintelligent than Yoshino as he has such difficulty in understanding what Yoshino wants from him. He's so use to being fake, to acting the way women around him want him to be that it throws him through a loop that Yoshino doesn't want that. She forces him to be a person not a persona.
Because of that, like Tsubaki says, he is desperate to understand and connect with her unlike with the women who he is connected to in a superficial way. I know it weirdly upsets some viewers that these women "Know" Kirishima in a way Yoshino hasn't but they don't actually know him Yoshino does. People often conflate love and sex as being the same thing but its not, sometimes it overlaps (and like that should be the standard but its not). This series sort of forces you to confront that assumption, because the real moments of love are in the smaller things.
It's Kirishima helping Yoshino with her garden, its him trying to get her focus on him, its him talking to her about mundane things, its him seeking out the things she wants, its him telling her his birthday, and yes it's him sleeping with other women to keep her safe. A LOT of people don't realize this but it is right there in the text he only reconnected with Nao because it would make the situation in Osaka more advantageous for him to keep Yoshino safe. There is a very good likelihood that if the situation would 100% not get Yoshino involved that Kirishima would have just stayed out of it. (which like damn sucks for you Nao) In actuality Kirishima likely would have preferred just a normal trip to Osaka with Yoshino (even though the chaos does help him confirm his own feelings again) Kirishima wants to desperately to be connected to Yoshino in anyway he can but you don't see that in how he is with other women, and it's in seeing that you can see his authenticity.
For further reference to something I noted earlier look at how Kirishima looks in these scenes with women both during and after sex.
There's little to no actual emotion or care, he operates almost robotically like you see when he fights someone he doesn't really give a shit about. It is something he's doing cause he has to not cause he wants to. Now compare these reactions to how he reacts when he finds out he accidentally/unconsciously felt Yoshino up
It's this flurry of emotions you can't even fully quantify like he can't even fathom he really did that. Kind of a strange reaction to give to someone who has done way more for way longer, but it makes perfect sense if you remember love and sex are different. With these other women he didn't care, sex didn't mean anything they could have been anyone and in all honesty if he could get away with not doing it he'd probably prefer it. But he loves Yoshino so he actually cares, he is actually turned on, he actually feels something.
THAT is the point of the side women. Kirishima is very hard to understand his character is a mystery for a majority of the series (and to a degree still is) these women help to solve that mystery if you take the time to really look at what's happening and not get parasocially angry that he is "betraying" his love for her. In his mind he's not because love and sex are different, sex to him until Yoshino is just a tool, its one of the many things that Yoshino changes in him over the course of the series. Lets not forget that one of his side women actually makes him realize the situation with Yoshino isn't all that great (the scene is better in the manga) cause he doesn't have the emotional intelligence to realize that himself and is a catalyst for the two actually growing closer. Like I keep having to cut myself short cause I'll just go off on how wonderfully complicated and uncomplicated Kirishima is as a character, but this is an important aspect to understand and shouldn't just be written off as "He's a red flag".
These women give us insight into how Kirishima is Pre-Yoshino and shows us how far he's come Post-Yoshino, in a way that could not be done otherwise. So maybe it makes you uncomfy for a bit but it's not bad writing it serves a purpose that could not be done otherwise.

anyway, thoughts after seeing Wicked again that are more focused on spoilery thoughts regarding things that occur in Part 2 so WATCH OUT:
definitely worth hyperfocusing on Glinda's face in No One Mourns the Wicked. when the first "No one mourns the wicked" comes, she looks devastated. The balance between having to decide how good of an actor Glinda is vs not wanting to give away too much to new audiences is always interesting and I think there's a lot going on with her fucking face here.
someone needs to win a reward for Fiyero's choreography in Dancing Through Life. I straight up did not catch what it looks like the first time, but once I saw it I was blown away. I would like to see side by side comparisons of that scene with certain scenes from the Wizard of Oz.
the scoring of the movie is great and they added so much to a lot of songs that work so well. Dancing through Life is a great example of just exponentially improving the song, but the big brassy womps at the end of Popular really just hit soooooo well for me. also obsessed with the little bits of Ding Dong the Witch is dead in No One Mourns the Wicked.
Overall, the music in the movie sounds better than the soundtrack. Like way better. I wish they'd just straight up pulled the audio from the movie as is for the soundtrack but unfortunately they did not.
There's this very weird moment right after the "Looks like the artichock is steamed" comment where people are laughing and Galinda and Elphaba make eye contant and Galinda makes a little "calm down" gesture at her and smiles in a genuinely sweet kind of way and then Elphaba just barely smiles, and its genuinely driving me insane. Because it happens after What is This Feeling and before the Ozdust Ballroom scene, they are not friends yet, as evidenced by Galinda just saying this very cruel thing to Elphaba. And yet its almost like she didn't want to and she immediately tries to calm Elphaba down while everyone else is distracted in a much nicer way and Elphaba seems to actually take that in? Its like Galinda almost feels like she needs to be mean to Elphaba in order to keep up appearances with the rest of their classmates. I'm gnawing on the drywall over these like five seconds fr
Kristen and Idina's roles were 100% self indulgent but I don't care it was great and I love that for them and also did actually add to the story but mostly just love that for them.
I'll probably remember more thoughts later so i'll just take them on as they come

Macbeth Q&A 18th Jan 2024 Part 1
Was lucky enough to get a ticket for the Member's Event at the Donmar Warehouse that took place on the 18th...with the price of the patronages I sure never thought I'd have gotten the chance, but luckily, they also let in some non-members 🥹❤️
The brilliant performance of Macbeth was followed by a very quick cleaning of the stage - thought for sure it would've taken them longer to remove the blood than like 5 minutes - followed by a lovely, little Q&A session.
The Q&A was led by Craig Gilbert (Literary manager) who talked to Annie Grace and Alasdair Macrae (Musicians and part of the acting ensemble) as well as Cush Jumbo and David Tennant.
Anyway, just gonna write down some of the stuff they talked about :) sorry if it's a bit messy! Might be spoilery if you haven't seen it yet but are going to!
To begin with Craig remarked that he didn't think he'd ever seen that many people staying behind for a Q&A before (While I was just wondering why some people even left!? Stressful!).
David introduced himself with "My real name is David "Thane of Paisely" Tennant - while Cush introduced herself with "I´m Cush Jumbo - there's only one of me".
First question was Craig asking them what it was that brought them to the Donmar to do Macbeth - to which David pretty much just replied that 1. It's the Donmar! 2. It's Macbeth! One of the greatest plays of all time in an amazingly intimate space - and that the theatre is famous for its quality of work. So he found it quite hard to think of a reason not to do it!
Cush said she'd worked there before and loves the theatre, how it's so intimate but also a great workspace. Followed by her saying she said yes because David asked her. She talked about how important it was for this play to do it together with the right actor playing opposite you.
David says Max Webster asked him about a year ago if he wanted to do the play - he gave him the dates - and since there weren't any obstacles in the way, David didn't have any excuse not to do it.
He then said that he had slightly avoided Macbeth - there sorta being the assumption that if you're Scottish and has done some Shakespeare plays before you have to do Macbeth. Which he joked was a bit odd since it's not like every Italian has to play Romeo. Then he mentioned that Macbeth is probably a bit more of a jock than he is - that it seemed more like a part for big, burly actors.
Max had laid out his initial ideas to David, a lot of which are in the final production, and David thought he seemed lovely, bright and clever and inventive plus it being the Donmar Warehouse! To which joked that he had last worked there 20 years ago - when he was 8 years old! "It's just one of those spaces" - friendly and epic at the same time where it's such a pleasure to be on the stage.
When Craig asked his next question concerning the sound of the play someone asked him to speak louder as she couldn't hear them - to which David joked that they've gotten so used to whispering. But also said sorry, and that they would!
Alasdair explained a bit about the process of the binaural sound - bit I find it a bit difficult to decipher it all correctly, sorry. He did say that a interesting part of it is that it allows them a controlled environment where they can put all the musicians (and even the bagpipes!) behind the soundproof box so "Poor David and Cush" doesn't have to shout over all the racket.
Craig asked David and Cush what their reaction was when they heard about the concept of the binaural soundscape - to which David replied that it didn't quite exist when they first came onboard - Cush joking they were tricked into it. Then she talked about her and David going on a workshop with Max to get a feeling of how it would all work - and get a sense of how it would sound to the audience, as this was one of the few times, they got to hear that side of it. Their experience of the play being completely different to the experience the audience has.
Cush said they can hear some of the sound - like she can hear some of the animal sounds and David can hear some of the stuff from the glass box - but most of their cues and information comes from timing with each other. She said they won't be able to ever hear what the audience hears - to which David joked "We're busy".
It felt like mixing medias - as it all went quite against their natural stagecraft instinct - but Cush found that in the long run it made things very interesting - like they don't have to worry about getting something whispered to each other - as the audience will hear it anyway.
David said the odd thing is that they don't really know what the experience truly is like. He mentioned that to the sides of the stage there's a speaker for them where they will get any cues that they need to hear. Like they can hear the witches - but they can't hear where they are "positioned" - so they have to learn how to place themselves to fit with what the audience hears. They don't hear everything, though. And the audio they hear is quite quiet, so it doesn't disturb what comes through the headphones.
He thinks it's been exciting - that it's a bit like a mix between film and theatre. It's happening live - but it's also like post-production is happening between them and the audience as it's going on. They just have to trust that the audience is hearing what they are supposed to for it all to make sense.
Cush said she thinks in 10 - 20 years, as these technologies has developed, doing theatre like this will feel a lot more normal - not that they will do it ALL the time, but that they will be doing it - whereas now it's still like an experiment. What Cush really like about the concept is that if was done in a much bigger theatre - then people in the cheapest seats would be able to have an experience much more similar to those in the most expensive seats - they'd be a lot more immersed into the action.
David then talks about how it feels extremely counterintuitive to not go on stage and speak loud enough that the people in the back row can also hear you. And usually, if they can't hear you, you aren't doing your job right! But then it felt very liberating. He loves it.
Cush then talked about how it felt odd waiting in the wings for a cue you can't hear - where you traditionally wait backstage and you can hear your cues, you can hear the rythm and know when it's your turn - so it was quite disconcerting to hear silence. So it's basically down to them now knowing the show and each other's timings - like if David is standing at a certain point, she knows how long she has before she needs to say/do something. So you have to watch each other more closely and really focus on what the others are doing.
David asked the musicians if they can hear everything inside the box, to which Annie replied that they get everything except some extra bits in the soundscape. But they can hear the actors on stage. Annie said it's actually a bit of a mystery to all of them what the audience actually experiences - how the big pictures actually look like - they just have to trust that it's there "Is it there?!".
Someone asked if they had had any adverse reactions from audiences to having to wear the headphones. Quite a bit of laughter all around :P then David said "There's the odd person" and something about if someone hadn't gotten the memo before turning up...but not sure how he ended the line. Then once again says that yes, there's the odd person who doesn't like it and that's fair enough.
The same audience member then said he could see the advantage of it in a big theatre where the distance is big, but not in a small place like the Donmar - to which David very quickly, rather passionately replied that it's not about projection, it's about being able to do things you wouldn't normally be able to do live - where they can speak so quietly that they can't even hear each other when standing next to each other. So even in such a small place, people wouldn't be able to hear that. It's about creating a different play - which isn't to everyone's taste and that's fair enough. But for a play that's been done a hundred and seven million times he thinks it's very valid to try and find a new way into the play - even if it's not for everyone.
Part 2
#David Tennant#Macbeth#Donmar warehouse#Cush Jumbo#I messed up this recording sooooo bad#I didn't see people pull out their phones to record it so I didn't dare do that either...#and man did I get a shitty recording out of it :(#and the audio ain't great either...Craig was sitting the furthest from me and didn't have a mic so can be a bit difficult to hear at times#Cush was sitting the closest to me (not that close - I was still in second row!) and David was sitting next to her#while I didn't have a perfect frontal view - the angle I was at did mean that I still got a perfect view of David's adorable smiles <3#and all his other lovely facial expressions as he often looked to Cush when she was talking and replied to her...#which made it FEEL like he was looking in my direction *sigh*#and he looked so good with his comfy cardigan - skin tight jeans - and his glasses!#You know I have seen David quite a few times by now - but I'm pretty sure this was the first time I saw him wearing his own glasses!#I desperately wish I had managed to capture some pictures or a video---because OMG! He was so lovely <3#Oh didn't know there was a text limit...or that I had written this much...guess I'm continuing in a part 2

Well Met By Moonlight Part 13
Hey, guys do you all remember that period of time when I was working on this story but refused to show you snippets of it on WIP Wednesdays? Yeah, this is that chapter. (I'm pretty sure, anyway. Because this shit was super spoilery.)
We finally get what happened to Steve and why he didn't grow up as Pack. This chapter does get a little dark in its themes so be careful when you read and if you need specifics, DM me and I'll fill you in.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12
****
Eddie and Wayne landed in front of their trailer with a deft touch. Eddie still wasn’t over the joy of being able to fucking fly. Like sure when he was younger, Wayne would take him for flights occasionally, but nothing beat banking on a breeze as the wind lifted him higher and higher.
“Your boy’s got a mouth on him,” Wayne said gruffly as he walked up the stairs to their trailer.
Eddie chuckled. “Always had. Even in school.”
Wayne huffed out a laugh. “True enough.”
As soon as they were safe inside, Eddie asked, “Hey, do you remember that couple who took Stevie in when his parents died?”
Wayne frowned. “You mean the Franklins?” he asked, tilting his head to the side.
Eddie snapped his fingers. “Yeah, them. Why was Steve placed with them? And not, I don’t know, the pack?”
“Ah.”
Wayne went to the kitchen and pulled out a six pack of beers. “That’s a bit of story. Drink up, you’ll need it for this.”
Eddie opened up a can of beer and settled in for story time.
Wayne downed an entire beer and wiped his mouth off with his sleeve.
“Hopper had gotten bad,” Wayne began. “Like real bad.”
“You’ve mentioned that before. That was around the time I came to live with you, right?”
Wayne nodded. “It wasn’t just drinking. It was drugs, too. And not just weed, either. I’m talking the heavy stuff.”
Eddie nodded. He had sold said heavy stuff to Hopper just before he cleaned up with El coming into his life. When Wayne asked him why, Eddie told him that he had no idea what he was doing with it and honestly didn’t care.
Knowing what Eddie did now, he regretted it, but he was so close to being able to afford his Warlock that that was all he cared about at the time.
“Steve’s dad Clint Harrington was getting ready to challenge Hopper for the position of alpha,” Wayne continued. “He knew that he might kill Hopper, but at that point it probably would have been a mercy.”
Eddie nodded solemnly. Maybe if Clint Harrington had lived, lived to be the alpha, the town wouldn’t be experiencing the troubles it was now.
“So what happened?” he asked gravely.
“Allison’s father died out in New York,” Wayne said. “The timing of it was so suspect, Ed. Like, you know I hate conspiracies with every fiber of my being, because there rarely is one. But this smelled rank from the get go.”
“You think whoever had the Harringtons killed,” Eddie said, “you think also popped off Granpappy, too, don’t you?”
Wayne glared at him, but conceded the point. “Whatever happened to the Harringtons was bad, boy. Like their bodies were savaged–”
He stopped and his eyes went wide. “It was exactly like this morning. I couldn’t tell the scent then, just like I couldn’t now.”
Eddie nodded. “As near as I could tell, there wasn’t a scent to be had. Whatever it was who killed the Harringtons and attacked Patrick, didn’t leave behind a scent.”
“There are very few things in this world that leave a scent so minuscule I could barely detect it,” Wayne said.
Eddie nodded. “So what happened with Steve after they died?” He was interested in the other thing, but he was really worried about his boyfriend.
“The old mayor, Larry Kline and I,” Wayne said amused, “made the decision that the pack wasn’t safe for Steve. But despite what Steve thinks the Franklins weren’t human.”
Eddie frowned. “They weren’t?”
“They were Were too,” he said with wary tilt of his head. “Were-bat. We figured that with them being at least Weres would be able to teach him how to shift and how to shift back comfortably.”
“So what went wrong?” Eddie asked, moving closer to Wayne on the sofa. “Because holy hell, pops, if Steve had been human CPS would have been called and fast.”
Wayne drank more of his beer and then rubbed one eye with the other hand. “I don’t know. I honestly don’t. There were no indications that Steve was anything other than a kid who’s parents died and was adjusting to it. Yeah, he wasn’t exactly happy, but we didn’t expect him to be, you know?”
“So what changed?”
Wayne drank the last of his beer and set it on the coffee table. “They were away on a trip and I don’t know if they forgot, didn’t care, or planned it... but Steve wolfed out for the first in his entire life when he was eighteen.”
“What?!”
Weres were supposed to shift for the first time when they hit puberty. Early teens for most of them. But to not shift until you were eighteen was just begging for the Were to go insane.
“Fucking hell, Uncle Wayne,” Eddie groaned. “Whoever this is is playing a long ass game. Jesus Christ. They were hoping he would go crazy, ending the Harrington line for good. So what happened?”
Wayne licked his lips. “Steve ran to me. He was frightened. Terrified out of his mind. Old Mack nearly shot the poor bastard as he came tearing through the trailer park.”
“Jesus H. Christ...” Eddie whispered.
Wayne chuckled. “It wouldn’ve done shit, it was just a regular bullet, it wouldn’ve even slowed him down.”
Eddie breathed a sigh of relief. “So what stayed Mack’s hand then?”
“You’ve seen your boy in wolf form,” Wayne said, “can you imagine how beautiful he looked then? The cream of his under belly blending with the warm brown of his back and face as he tore down the gravel pavement?”
Eddie could imagine it in fact. Steve was gorgeous as a human, but as a werewolf? He was exquisite. It came from his mixed breeding of being born from another born werewolf and his turned wife. Born werewolves tended to be more timber wolf in their appearance. Almost dire wolf-esque. Big, with course fur and fierce. Bitten werewolves tended toward the smaller red wolves. Quick, slender, and cunning as hell.
Steve was a mix of these two breeds and it made him the most beautiful thing on four legs Eddie have ever scene.
“To fire at something so majestic would have been a travesty,” Wayne was saying when Eddie came back from his revery. “So Mack just stood there, rifle in hand as Steve made straight for my door.”
Eddie frowned. “Where was I? I don’t remember this.”
“You and your friends had gone to Indy for some concert or another,” Wayne said. “I don’t rightly recall.”
Eddie’s frown got deeper, he’d only gone to one concert with his friends in Indy because one of the ‘85 Hellfire Club members had gotten tickets for graduation and had taken all of them.
“Is that why you weren’t home when I got back into Hawkins?” he asked. “You were dealing with Steve?”
Wayne nodded and popped open another bottle of beer. He held one up to Eddie, but he shook his head. Eddie held up his still mostly full can. Wayne licked his lips.
“You’ll want to drink more of that,” he muttered.
Eddie did as he was told and it took the edge off of his anxiety but settled sour in his stomach.
“After I got Steve sedated,” Wayne said, “and yes it was fucked up I even had to in the first place, I went a paid the Franklins a visit.”
“That sounds ominous,” Eddie said flatly.
Wayne grinned. “They tried to tell me that they were frightened of Steve. That as a wolf he was much bigger than they were as bats. That all it would take was one snap of his giant jaw and they would be but a morsel to the boy.”
Eddie blinked at his uncle in confusion. “What now? His first change would have been a literal puppy. He wouldn’t have even been able toddle after them, let alone get within biting distance.”
Wayne huffed. “Right in one, boy. And if they had been teaching him from his first change on, he wouldn’t have thought of them as prey at all. Not even on moon nights.”
Eddie rolled his eyes and shook his head.
“And then they tried to attack me,” Wayne continued.
“They did what?” Eddie squawked.
“They probably would have succeeded, too,” he said, “but apparently Steve is a hard wolf to keep down and followed me like a lost puppy. When he saw Dick Franklin raise a fucking yew stake to stab me in the back, Steve leapt on him.”
“Where the fuck did they get a yew stake?”
Wayne just shook his head. “The hell if I know, kid. But in comes this wolf and just snatches the damn thing out of Dick’s hand. He runs off with it Ella Franklin hot on his heels in bat form. Bats are fast and she catches up quickly. The problem is that in or out of bat form she knows she no match for Steve, so she tries to blind him by going for his eyes.”
Eddie’s hand covered his mouth as he listened to him go on about this horrible night.
“But despite what a lot of people think,” Wayne continued, “your boy ain’t dumb. He keeps his head down and makes right for the Creel House. He tosses the thrall on duty the stake and suddenly a werebat is face to face with Tammy Thompson, now holding a yew stake as Steve just continues running past the Coven.”
Eddie blinked. “I didn’t realize that Tammy’s family were thralls.”
“Just like the Perkins, Buckleys, and Hagans are hereditary keepers,” Wayne said with a nod, “the Thompsons, Carmichaels, and Bensons have always been hereditary thralls.”
Eddie was starting to think that he really should have paid closer attention to the hierarchies in school, they were a lot more important than he knew.
“Anywho,” Wayne said with a shake of his head. “Ella flies back to their house to find me beating the hell out of Dick. She manages to distract me long enough for Dick to get on his feet, but now it’s two against one and they’re still strong in their human forms, but wicked fast. I was able to take out Dick, the coward that he was, but Ella was proving to be too fast. She was going to get away.”
Eddie drank the rest of his beer and popped open another one. He leaned forward so that he was on the edge of the sofa, and his knee began to shake.
Wayne put his hand his knee to settle it, but Eddie stared at him wild eyed.
“I don’t have to finish if this bothering, Ed,” he said warmly. “I can give you the Cliffnotes.”
Eddie shook his head. “What happened next?”
“Just as she took flight, the thing they had always feared happened,” he said softly. “Steve’s jaws came down on her with a sickening crunch. Dick started spewing all sorts of curse words and things I didn’t understand. Something about how werewolves were a plague among the Weres and that they had to be exterminated and how if Steve hadn’t had my protection they would have drowned the bastard in the bathtub.”
“What. The. Fuck?” Eddie asked, can crumpling in his fist as it tightened on it.
“It didn’t mean anything until the events going on now,” Wayne said with a heavy sigh. He crumpled his can one handed and stared at the twisted mass. “But I think whoever it is who is trying to tear this community apart is getting desperate. They’re starting to make mistakes. And I think one day soon, this is all going to blow up in our faces.”
Eddie gulped, but nodded.

Dulcet Embers - Recuerdos
Boothill x Reader
A melody found in the rubble of the past, reminiscing is often the bane of the survivor
//Very very short thing while I work on a really long yan fic that is not only sucking my soul out rn but probably going to flop/j. Definitely spoilery and has stuff from the leaks (also a rewrite because I hated it). Lyric excerpts from Huellas by Adolescent's Orquestra.
Y pasó y pasó, y tu vientre palpitó
‿︵‿︵‿୨ ୧‿︵‿︵‿
As the sun lowered ever more in the horizon and bathed the world in warmth, you hitched your daughter onto the crook of your arm to sit as her wide eyes stared in awe. Her tufty hair wild as a pudgy hand holding onto your finger, you hummed a familiar tune, swaying along with the melody. The warm wind breezed past and kissed the tender skin of her ears, eliciting a mirthful giggle that sung just as sweetly.
“Síntomas de amor, no es una ilusión,” You cood, lightly bouncing her on your hip. The words fell off your tongue easily, years and years of learned experience making it more than familiar. She brought your thumb to her nose, pressing the appendage against it as she inhaled. Smiling, you continued crooning, “Así te conocí.”
From behind you, a familiar set of spurs clicked as a voice, slightly raspy and drawling, finished the melody. Just as gentle, if not more, he sang, “Me enamoré de ti.”
You did not even have to turn to know who had come up behind, and when a hand rested at your hip while the other patted down your daughter’s hair, your smile only deepened. He brings your forms closer so that he may rest his chin atop your head. As the sun waved its final goodbye, she rested her head against your shoulder, still holding onto your thumb with great adoration.
With her clear fatigue from the afternoon, you kept your voice low.
“I didn’t think you’d still remember the lyrics,” Murmuring, you adjusted the position you hold her so that she may rest against you more comfortably.
He took a while to respond, the whistle of the wind filling the silence as your ears picked up the slight hitch of his breath. When he finally answered, it was quiet, whispered, “ ‘s not hard to when you keep singing it to her.”
You could only let a strain tinge your smile, your eyes softening as you let him continue holding the two of you. This song was one you had somehow remembered, somehow dug out from the depths of your childhood, he remembers. Though you had not the musicality your partner did, he sure knows you didn’t, such a sweet child was hard to not adore. You always sang to her at all hours of the time, though he was not wrong when he said that song was all you sang to her. He didn’t know why, he still doesn’t know.
“Music is good for children, stimulates their brain.” As you said that, her little features furrow as a soft whine escaped her.
Behind the attempt at annoyance, he still couldn’t fault you, “It doesn’t mean you gotta sing the same song to her all the time.”
Quietly, you had only insisted, “It's a good song.”
He remembers at that time, he had been still making that small guitar for her. Before she learned to walk, before he had screeched for you to come over and see.
As though to distract him, you asked him, “And how’s the guitar coming along?”
“Good, just gotta sand down some parts,” He notes, a little hesitant and seeking some kind approval. “You think she’ll like it?”
“I’m sure you could give her a lock of your hair and she’d still like it,” You murmur, nuzzling your head into his shoulder as he rests his onto yours.
When you met his gaze, he remembers your affectionate gleam, your eyes filled and seeping with nothing but adoration. Pray tell, he may not be the best with his words but he can’t deny that when the world grew quiet and all that was left were the two of you, singing and swaying with no worries to be had, it was nothing but joy that swelled in his heart.
“You’re right,” He hummed, that lopsided grin pulling across his handsome face once more.
You respond with one of your own, your voice louder in the sands of time, “Of course I am.”
With nothing but the memory of you, he could only smile bitterly as that song played through his head once more. If he could even have a lock of hair, he is certain that at the very least, he wouldn’t be left with only that song.
“You always were.”

When would you say Wade started having feelings for Logan? :) ignore this if u want too lol
Ok ok ok
So I should probably not answer cause spoilers for Wade pov - but also who tf am i, marvel? its fanfic and i have no self control
I will however try to learn how tumblr works and put the spoilers below the line in case anyone wants to go into the wade pov blind
So yknow how Logan basically has a crush from the start, but its like a slow gentle build until he realises he's in love with Wade? And hes like huh well fuck, but also is like probably in hindsight I've been in love a little while. Kinda just puts his head in his hands and is like well this is something I now have to deal with
Wade's not quite like that
Wade has a crush from the start as well (in fact had a crush on Wolverine before he got to know Logan) and he's aware of it and wants to see where it goes, but after Vanessa he is initially not trying to rush into anything. So for a while he just kinda enjoys the crush - which is romantic feelings I guess, its not just "wow he's hot", and Wade is intending for it to maybe go somewhere, but he's also pretty detirmined at first not to put pressure on it. For a while he's like "yeah I have a crush and I'd like to see where this goes but I'm not like... gonna die if this doesn't work out"
And then comes the point (the exact moment of which I will keep secret to make more fun when the pov is out) where he falls in love/realises he's in love with Logan. And the idea of "just seeing where this goes" is out the window immediatly, because it hits him *hard* to a point where its almost terrifying, and it really does suddenly feel like he *will* die if he fucks this up and Logan leaves
So yeah sorry this doesnt actually answer the question entirely. To actually answer it somewhat, the love realisation will come around a similar point in the timeline to Logan's, but again, wanna keep the exact moment secret for now hehehehe
thanks for the ask i hope this is the right balance of spoilery vs not ruining it hehehe

ive been playing stp for a few hours now. but i’ll say my thoughts here…
holy shit its so good! i love it its fucking great. i think i managed to get some of the new update things but since i held back on playing before the pristine cut came out i wouldnt actually know. i have a guess considering how rare certain achievements are, though…
listing more specific, very rambley, VERY SPOILERY thoughts on the paths ive gone under the cut. do not click if you dont want to be spoiled I know what you are.
so, the endings i’ve gotten! so far:
The Cage - the part of being trapped in chains is a fucking nightmare scenario for me so kinda funny that i got it for my first one. the whole thing of “we can’t control where the story goes” being shown in both our character’s heads being cut off and having the bodies fight was. wow. i didnt say anything to convince her that she was wrong about the lack of free will, though maybe i should have. or maybe i should’ve picked up her head. too late now though… the image of her body walking towards us holding her head in a cage is SO fucking good.
Happily Ever After - hwat the fuck! fuck! ow? so i mean, i got to see a bit of narrator’s “happy” ending even though i let skeptic kill me in the end. so then getting that sort of ending, again, but having the narrator realize that it’s a horrible ending to have, and sounding so broken about it, and that last line from the narrator too…i miss this narrator. he’s the only one so far who’s realized that eternal, stagnant happiness isn’t a happy ending.
and the princess trying so hard to say she’s happy when she isn’t, trying to come up with new ideas to keep being happy, ultimately ending in “I don’t think I ever was”. even that first part of “dinner’s ready” really sent a chill down my spine because it just, sounded so sad. her walking outside with us, dancing under the stars, looking so much happier, even if it was a little cold..USUUHFHDJDNXKS
and the shadow behind her - smitten i assume - even though she isn’t literally chained this time, the shadow still holds her there - he kinda acts like the narrator does when you get the “happy” ending. does that make sense. this false happiness becoming her new chains - what the fuck. what the fuck!
and i mean, im the one who said we should stay in the cabin the chapter before (though i wasnt the one to rip my chest open Smitten CHILL) because i didn’t want her to leave. but at least we got to dance with her. at least she really was happy dancing under the stars before it ended. this is probably my favorite ending so far.
Mutally Assured Destruction - this one was so good. hearing all the different voices talking at once, them all coming up with their own ideas, and all of them failing until, in the end, we silence them all and having one final fight, with the princess and us stabbing each other, just like it was in the first chapter - fucking cool as hell.
#pixel rambles#slay the princess#slay the princess spoilers#stp spoilers#ive gotten more endings since i wrote this but i dont feel like rewriting it so. lmao !

outer wilds thoughts
thank you @toasthaste for the rec this game has been like catnip for me. spoilers under the cut (people are unfortunately right that if you're in the target audience of puzzle/mystery enjoyers you should play the game knowing as little as possible)
wow looking for help keeps making me run into spoilers. so far i think a lot of the really cool stuff I've discovered on my own, though--but perhaps i wish i had been able to learn about the jellyfish myself.
favorites include: what happens when you fall into the black hole and what's up with those purple walls and that ghost matter is not 1:1 with those crystals and that ice can melt and how you can learn things by learning the planet symbols and probably other things
the controls became intuitive way faster than I was expecting
i love how it's naturally broken up into ~20 min chunks (longer if I read a lot)
current open questions below (even more spoilery):
so is the tree planet bramble whatever connected to the sun or something? I'm pretty sure its gravity disappeared when it novaed
is that satellite going to be relevant ever or did I just fly out to ID the signal for my own satisfaction (also, is that second radio dish also for the satellite? I don't think I can get a second signal out of it)
is the attlerock's name significant? attle is like, waste or worthless rock, as distinct from valuable ore. it is missing that huge chunk and there are crystals sticking out
there are totally time shenanigans happening right. like obviously there are but I'm pretty sure there are more. stars don't do that usually right? and there was that hook with the warping that I have not yet investigated
where the fuck is the warp point to timber hearth
were they actually worshipping this fucking moon
what the fuck why are there floating islands on giant's deep
what the fuck is the point of the sand thing. is it more time shenanigans. wait fucking hourglass is it keeping time?

Finished In Stars and Time last night!
Mostly non-spoilery thoughts below the cut; thoughts about game play and general feelings. General fee-fees. Ling-lings, you might say.
I haven't cried this much over a video game in a while! Possibly ever; the party side quests completely wrecked me and I was snotty over the ending all night. I'm still feeling a little wibbly about it, honestly.
This is a game about mental illness and grief and loneliness in a very literal way; there certainly is a layer of symbolism that you can analyze, but it's really very straightforward and upfront about its themes. This isn't a strike against it in any way! Sometimes its refreshing to have a story that just tells you straight up, here are a bunch of queer, mentally ill misfits. They're going to save the world, but it's going to hurt. Sometimes love doesn't win; sometimes love isn't enough; you have to keep going, regardless.
I went into this determined to avoid spoilers, and I'm actually quite proud of myself for pulling that off- I have an awful track record with spoiling myself. However, as a result of avoiding spoilers, I did miss some pretty significant side content, and I spent way too long obsessing over pointless flavor text.
It's a standard RPGMaker game, which is fine; nothing particularly exciting about it, nothing particularly awful. The rock/paper/scissors mechanic is actually quite fun.
That said...I missed getting the item that lets you avoid combat when it was first available, and parts of the game are absolutely a slog. Some of this is intentional! I recognize that- time loop narratives are all about maddening repetition. But I don't have the emotional or mental capacity to play through the ending again any time soon; I'll find a youtube video for the side content I missed.
Overall, though, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, and I probably will replay it eventually. It ended up being a much longer game than I expected; I thought I was going to finish it over the weekend but my total game time was...probably close to 35 hours? Hard to say for sure, since my game timer says 228 hours. 🙃
#in stars and time#isat#i need to send some screenshots to my phone because I can't stop laughing at myself#all timeloops is the same#save and quit? lol. lmao even.#nattering

oooh boy i am in the midst of rewatching season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow and Sara's entire arc from assassin to captain means so much to me
(rambling under cut and kind of spoilery ig)
like. Stein's "you're no longer an assassin, you're a captain." and then a few episodes later her choosing to save him over the amulet bc she views the team as her family and she can't save her sister but she can save them oooughhh
also continuing into one of the later seasons (either 3 or 4 idk), when Zari says to Sara "you aren't just the captain of the ship, you're it's soul" WHEN SARA HAS STRUGGLED WITH WHO SHE IS AND WHAT HER SOUL MEANS TK HER??
Godd I love it sm. And in S2 when she's still trying to deal with being a captain and the fact that Rip is MIA and she probably felt so inadequate for it but her team shows literally nothing but support to her and are always like "okay so what's next captain" and they (almost) always ask her what to do hshsj
Her struggling with a place in the team in S1 being nothing more than an assassin to Rip but then S2 rolls around and she's a captain and the team (her family!!!) looks to her for guidance and I don't think they really understand how much they mean to her but its just she grows SO well into the role of captain
Everybody who joins the team doesn't even question it, Gideon never stops calling her the captain (and rewatching S1 felt so weird when Gid called Sara Ms. Lance and not Captain Lance), and then when Ava comes around literally the entire team is like "oh okay another time mom. co-captain 🥰"
Sara loves her lil band of misfits so much and I feel like she doesn't realize how much they love her (Jax saying she needs to be captain and he can't be captain in S2 E11, Rory talking to her abt being the only 2 ogs left in S6, Nate treating her like an older sister, Zari and her lowk bonding over dead siblings, etc etc) but theyre a little family and yeah theyre a lil messed yp and broken but they have each other!!
I could talk abt Sara for years guys she's my favorite character from LoT
anyways tldr i really enjoy Sara's assassin/teammate - the (figurative) soul of the ship arc

you should rant about your non tmnt related characters/OCs (if you got any) :3
You say this as if I have developed any of my OCs since I got into TMNT/j
I do actually have a decent amount of characters I've been working on for like over a year now but the really annoying thing is they're for a game @aaronymous999 and I are making 😭😭 so whilst I could talk about them it would be very very boring bc I can probably say about 5 non-spoilery things about each of the characters I'm allowed to talk about lmao- but!!! May as well :3 (cutting this bc this is gonna be hella long)
One of the two protagonists you can pick from is Èmile Dion! He's 27 and a bi cis male (ew cis people/j). He's also French Canadian, and he is a lil bit of a con artist. He made a living off of it whilst he was on his own. Silly little street rat man. He's a little naive when it comes to people he trusts or loves, which is ultimately his down-fall (theres so many endings where this cooks him lol and its the whole reason his route happens), but otherwise he's pretty street smart. He's a lil cutie patootie and I love him 💖 We haven't decided on the character relationship chart yet since not all the characters are fully developed but I think he'd get along with Esi (team TEO), Eun-Jae (team TEO), and Renata (team COC). He'd only really be around Renata most of the time though as he's COC, and both she and Eun-Jae are pretty hard to get through to lmao, he's not really one for giving in though.
(Please excuse the old art throughout this post, only Eun-Jae and Heaven have had recent art, even though almost all of them have been designed for ages)
Talking about Heaven next bc even tho it would make more sense to talk about the participants and then him or him then the participants. Uh. This is my post.
Heaven is one of the hosts! He's 17, mixed race (Filipino, Chilean, Taiwanise) and a pan ace cis male. He works for COC and has been with them a very long time. I can't say too much past that bc spoilers but he's very energetic, a silly guy! He's prone to mood shifts and kinda has anger issues but you wouldn't know it by looking at him. He knows when to be serious despite his naivety and general demeanour.
Renata is 26, Hispanic (havent decided where shes from yet), and a lesbian cis woman. I cant really talk about Renata much bc she just. Doesnt have that much planned for her yet but she's neat!!!!!! Scene girl!!! She was actually the first character I designed out of all the participants, as her design was meant to be used for something else in the game but I loved it so much she became one of the main characters lmao- honestly she probably does have lore I can talk about but I keep forgetting to write stuff that Aaron and I talk about on call down 😭😭 the only stuff that I could talk about is spoilers... cries. I can mention that she's morally grey ig? Each team has 2 characters that are morally grey, morally good and morally bad however this doesn't fully dictate their actions, it's just kind of a template for their character. Characters who we put under morally good can still do fucked up shit and the reverse is also true, its just that the morally grey ones are more of a toss up than the others.
Anyway look at my daughter
Zedekiah is the last of the COC participants I made!!!! He again doesn't have much planned for him, but look at how neat he is!!! Honestly he might get redesigned. Again. But this is him for now!!! His hair is fun to draw :3
EUN-JAE IS NEXT!!!!!! TEO TIME!!!! She's very silly (I say despite her being one of the more serious characters). She's 23 and Korean! Her identity isn't really something she's thought over, and if she has well, she isn't going to tell anyone anyway. I wish I could yap about her mode but spoilers... cries...
AMMON HATCH!!!!! HE'S 20, GREEK AND RELIGIOUSLY TRAUMATISED AS HELL!!!!! PROBABLY QUEER IDK WAIT TILL THE GAME COMES OUT. WHAT A CREATURE <3 killing him. I don't rlly like this drawing of him icl so have his original sketch too
AND ESI GRACE!!!!! SHES 19, GHANAN AND A CREATURE AS WELL <3 She and Ammon are definetly friends I think they'd stick together and try their best to drag Eun-Jae into their silliness. If Esi wasn't around TEO would rip each other apart (well, earlier at least. They'll probably do it anyway despite her presence).
I dont like her digital drawing so have her original sketch <3
Talking about this guy last bc I havent drawn him in a year and I hate the one piece of art of him I have- River! He's 24, British and Japanese, and pan :3 He's sort of an assistant to Heaven ig? He helps with all the simpler stuff along with TEO's assistant, Malachi, mostly stuff regarding the participants and not the big things that Heaven and Ophelia have to worry about. He sees Heaven as more of a little brother than anything, which makes the power dynamic kinda goofy, but he deals with it. I'll redraw him soon but have this god awful sketch for now-
That's all the characters that I'm allowed to talk about 😭😭😭 there are MANY more but their simple existence is massive spoilers so. You'll see them one day. THANK YOU FOR THE ASK DIB‼️‼️‼️🥺🥺🥺💖💖🌸🌸🌸
#rai rambles#answered asks#bloodsoaked contract#i do have many more OCs but i made most of them when i was like 11 and they havent been fleshed out at all

If it isn't too spoilery for you to answer, will it actually be possible to change Romero's mind about soulmates?
My MC may be a sweet person and a cinammon roll with absolutely everyone... except Romero haha. I can't imagine him ever having a truly civil conversation with them considering what they did (well, unless that situation is solved I guess, but finding Sam's soulmate after that will probably be hell). But well, if at the very least they could change opinions if only a little bit it could maybe allow for some civility heh.
PS: I don't hate Romero, but my MC sure does and he doesn't want to have anything to do with them (aside from reporting them, that is).
That's an interesting question. I'd wave my hands and respond with "In a way", and it will look different depending on whether or not they are the chosen RO. So being friends with them (or at the very least, being civil) will have its own impact. After all, they are on a character journey too!

in my mind's eye the biker was fidgetspringer's Noah 👀 you reblog his art a bunch so I probably connect both of your art/OCs ♥️
omg! Yes you're actually dead on correct HAHA. @fidgetspringer-art helped me come up with small pieces of this episode lying on our backs in a too small hotel room listening to a lowrider pound the block at midnight, he actually came up with the chip stand line and the glitch. Hes even written the scene from Noahs point of view! I wasn't sure about doing a Volvo ep and had told him about the idea, so hes been encouraging that, and we can thank him for the inspo.
heres a little peek into the not-so-fanfic, not too much, so its not too spoilery for anyone who hasnt listened yet haha. '"You gotta take a lap around the chip stand." They say, and they mean it. "It glitches sometimes." Noah stares. They're fucking with him. They have to be. None of this is real. He tries the door again. The lights flicker, his stomach lurches sickeningly and his boots squeak against the wet floor as he steps back into the gas station...'
Anyway, its really cool you put those pieces together, i love that. heres Noah for those who havent met him yet, art by FidgetSpringer!

Not-very-spoilery thoughts on the movie release of Pillar Training (+SSV conclusion)
Behind a cut anyway just in case!
--Very nice to hear familiar background music brought back--Yuukaku themes when Uzui & his wives appear, Mitsuri's "Koi Kogare" BGM when she has a good batch of lines, Giyuu's BGM as he's like, "bye"
--I am very happy with the new OP, both sound and imagery-wise.
--One very short clip in particular made me, a fanfic writer, very very happy, but then there was more gratuitous focus that reminded me of another one of my best fanfics. The rewards of writing fic as closely based on canon as I could get them gives me the satisfaction of feel liking like canon-based imagery honors my fics by extension.
--Speaking of imagery in general, Ufotable is finding lots of ways to try to harp on the idea that everyone's wishes to destroy demons find their accumulation in Tanjiro, the Sun Breath user and first person in centuries to unlock the Mark. It is perhaps a little clumsy at times, but hey, that's a theme I like in this series.
--I was sad that Suma sounded so different, and had to look up afterward if she still had the same seiyuu. She does, but I think they might have given her totally different vocal direction so that she wouldn't sound too similar to Mitsuri
--Japanese crowds tend to be very quiet at movie theaters, but people could not contain their giggles at many of Mitsuri's lines
--I had the honor of sitting next to a huuuuuuuge fangirl who before the moving was saying stuff to her friends like, "(Hanae) Natsuki-san was at USJ the other day, and since it's a VR ride, you know, you have to wear the goggles, and I think, what if I wear the pair that he wore??? You know?? Our faces??? Would be so close?????" and then at the review of previous seasons at the beginning of the show, she started crying the instant the Mugen Ressha part started. Not loud crying, but crying.
--You can tell everyone was waiting for the "welcome back" scene, and although I thought Zenitsu would steal the show in that scene, it was indeed Nezuko. In the seiyuu greeting that was broadcast across all Japanese theaters on the opening day, Shimono-san noted that he thinks the audio was turned down on his performance of that scene. I think it was probably was too.
--So much happy daily life in this episode. If you have any friends who complained about last year's theater showing being a let-down because it was just regular anime episodes instead of a Mugen Train style movie, please tell them to just sit this one out and spare us their complaints. Most of this showing was just Tanjiro having a nice time after having a panic attack over Nezuko (oh, and like, killing Upper Moon Four, that too).
--Shinobu's hair seems distinctly longer. Giyuu's hair seems distinctly fluffier.
--Ufotable has put a lot of touches into humanizing Amane
--I wish Ufotable would stop trying to drive the "Zenitsu thinks Aoi is happy to see him (just because Aoi is a girl)" point. First off, yes, Zenitsu being a creep to girls is played up a bit in the anime. Second, the first fanbook states that the only kind of girl who is not so much his type is the Aoi-type.
--Also, on the promo art, I like the design they gave Shinobu's sword, but that's ignoring the fact that the four engraved kanji characters are on either side. Go ahead, Ufotable, hire me as your canon double-checker. EDIT: Oh wait, that is its sheath. Lovely, carry on.
--That said, the original filler they gave us? Gold star. Excellent. So happy with it. One... well, two tiny nitpicks that don't bother me much but stating it here would spoil it.
--One more non-spoilery thing to say about that filler: the people at Ufotable were probably like, "our fans are nerds. We already give them this, this, this, and that to nerd over. You know what else they are probably nerds for? Yeah. Let's give them that." Thank you, Ufotable. This nerd accepts and loved it.
--Tiny Nezuko filler as they set the stage talking about Muzan is probably looking for her? LOVE THAT TOUCH, at every level.
--Shinobu does have multiple goldfish, but they look a bit different?
--Genya's makes the best face in this whole episode
--Speaking of Genya, in the seiyuu greeting they had actors in big chibi costumes of the Kamaboko gang come out... PLUS GENYA. Giant chibi grumpy Genya was so, so, so, so freaking cute. Also, his seiyuu Okamoto got to join the stage with everybody and was talking about how he always used to scroll through his social media seeing the other seiyuu at KnY events and he was like, "sigh... sure looks like everyone is having fun..."
--Hanae Natsuki and his wife are big Genya fans, though, it seems
--Okamoto had a lot of trouble performing young Genya in the flashback, especially the emotional screaming. The desperation Genya always displays as he fights? That was Okamoto. --Meanwhile, Matsuoka always looks very overwhelmed at these things. I think having to embody the spirit of Inosuke terrifies him.
--IT WAS SO GOOD TO HEAR INOSUKE AGAIN
--Those actors in chibi costumes? The Zenitsu and Inosuke ones embodied them SO WELL. I don't usually care for those giant mascot character costumes, but these were legit so much fun to watch, like with Inosuke going right up into the cameras and Zenitsu trying to pull him back and then the two of them pushing and shoving. Zenitsu acting like he is being bullied and Inosuke showing off his muscles. I loved them. I am very sad that I will not be in town when they travel across Japan and come to my area.
--Also, the baritone voice of Oyakata-sama's personal crow? LOVED IT.
--Himejima at the the Pillar Meeting is such a statement. The new promotional material has a tag line that prominently uses one of the kanji in his name ("cry out"), and I feel like this is set-up for him to have a lot of impact later on in this season. Here's hoping!
--I am probably gonna go watch it again in a couple weeks, ufufufu
--Which is worth it for that KIZUNA NO KISEKI REMIX WHICH SOUNDED SO COOL IN SURROUND SOUND, OH MY GOSH
