"Cut!" the director calls.

Tom, who was hovering atop me from the bed we were laid upon, pulls back, pressings his lips into a line, and rolls off, landing on his back.

I, who had been making out him for about 30 minutes, prop myself up on my elbows and eventually sit up. I suck in a breath, willing the haze that comes in the aftermath of kissing. I catch sight of the incoming stylists, ready to retouch our makeup and readjust our wardrobe.

I straighten up as the makeup artist redoes my foundation with her brush. I turn to the artist that goes up to Tom and I point a bit worriedly, "I think I accidentally messed with his wig."

Tom, who's stylist immediately check on his platinum hairpiece, turns to me, chuckle, "her fingers were two inches away from snatching it off."

They all laugh at his sentiment. I, in particular, snort and frown playfully, "fake news. You're such a drama enticer."

"What?" Tom chuckles, "I'm not kink shaming," he raises his hands, "but you can't just snatch my wig, baby."

I scoff, rolling my eyes, holding back my grin. I turn to the the stylists, absolutely humored and enamored by Tom's English drawl and smooth talking, "he's such a dweeb."

Tom pulls his upper lip up in faux annoyance, "I'm offended you think so little of me."

Once our makeup was retouched and ready, Tom and I go back to our spots on the other side of the set. He extends a hand out to help me up, although I didn't need it, and I take his hand, allowing him to lead us back to our marks. Totally normal. Totally no butterflies in my stomach.

Tom and I face each other, waiting for our queue. We absentmindedly look around the set. There are distant voices of crew members conversing behind the camera.

It turn to Tom when he pushes back hair behind my ear.

I give him a look and he gives me a narrow eyed smirk, as if nonverbally saying he did that just to mess with me. I ignore him and the tightening of my chest.

The next moment, the intimacy coordinator walks up to us with the director, the latter of the two says, "great shot guys, but I'm thinking wilder."

"Are we ok with that?" the intimacy coordinator asks, looking between us as she raises a thumb up with her questioning gaze.

Tom and I turn to each other, nodding softly as we purse our lips and mutter agreements.

"Ok," the director points, motioning over to the bed, "I think in this part, where you push up her skirt, you have to make sure the camera can see your hand on her thigh, Aegon."

Aegon's actor nods as we walk over to bed.

"Should we practice it?" I apprehensively offer.

"We can," Tom says, turning between the three of us, raising his hand out to me. I grab his hand and place it on my hip, hiking my skirt, placing up the bunched up fabric in Tom's hand. Much like a while ago, I place my hands on Tom's shoulders, leaning back a bit. His hand goes to my waist, and I huff, ignoring the washing machine turns in my stomach.

"Are we good?" the intimacy coordinator asks again, coming near us, placing a hand on our shoulders. Both Tom and I turn to her and agree. She smiles and nods, stepping back, "okie dokie.

The director steps forward, adjusting our form, turning over her shoulder, "how are we looking?"

One of the assistants calls, "looking hot!"

"Nice," the director grins, turning back to us. She turns to me, "you're good with whining out his name?"

"Tom?" I catch myself, "I- I mean-" but it's too late.

Tom, the director, the intimacy coordinator, and everyone else who catches my questioning tone, breaks into a giggle.

I bare my teeth in a tight grin, straightening myself up, pulling my hands away from Tom, "I meant Aegon," I weakly say.

Tom chortles, loosening his grip on me as he looks off to the camera, "for the record, she did not."

The director chuckles, slapping Tom's shoulder playfully as she turns to me, correcting, "Aegon!"

"Aegon," I nod my head.

"Aegon," Tom grins, as he says my character's name sequentially.

I roll my eyes at him, "yes but Aegon keeps forgetting her name."

"Fine," Tom says, continuing with my name as he throws a lopsided smile.

"Enough," our director, chastised lightly tapping Tom's nose, "if you two screw this up I'm making you do 600 push ups."

Tom gasps, pulling his hands away from me altogether, to hover his them by either side of his cheeks, "not corporal punishment."

I cross my arms, scoffing in amusement, turning to the director, "please actually make him do 600 pushups if he messes up."

Tom laughs loudly, "aha," he tilts his head, "and what should I do to you for calling out my name on," he raises his two fingers and wiggles them " 'accident', sweetheart?"

"Quit being annoying," I raise my brows at him, pursing my lips.

"That means you find me distracting," he retorts victoriously, wiggling his eyebrows next.

"Alright," the director raises her hands in front of both our faces, "that's enough flirting. On your marks."

ok so i completely forgot what case number this is but: thinking about reader amethyst's marot reading for logico and irratino. like not just the meaning but also the foreshadowing. like agent fuchsia obviously represents them getting hired by S.P.Y. (if i had a nickel for every fictional spy organization with a silly acronym id have two nickels which isnt a lot but its weird that it happened twice). the computer terminal obviously represents MORIARTY. but the hard hat is what i find interesting. you see, the hard hat is supposed to represent building something together. but the case where they're at the construction site– thats construction for tektopia, which is completely obliterating new aegis. their home. everything they've built. and i think how irratino interpreted that marot– he wanted to run. hes always been running. (not canon but i 100% headcanon parent abandonment) he faked his death amd ran when he found out about the cult and the ancient ruins. he ran from drakonia. he faked his death and ran like twice in vol 3 chapter 4 alone. and i think that's because he always believes that if he can just start over, then everything will be okay.

but he doesn't do that. you know why? for logico.

he doesn't want that for him. he doesn't want him to start over, over and over again.

and so he stays. he stays, and it fucking kills him from the inside out.

(he still fakes his death twice though. it's a habit now. he can't help it)

and i think all these thoughts are coursing through him when he says "we shouldve listened to the marot". hes not a very idealistic person. optimistic, maybe. but at that point? you cant believe you'll survive. you cant. and he thinks he wont. he thinks that this is the end, and that all of this couldve been avoided if they had ran, and started something new together. faked both of their deaths. start a new life.

and for logico, to question his beliefs? now, at all places? after everything that's happened between them?

(logico's got his own problems too, but he doesn't know that. he doesn't know that logico is analyzing the situation, realizing that a fake fight would be the best way to escape, to throw them off, and that he's baiting irratino. he doesn't know that underneath all that logic, it's a little bit real. hes tired of losing the one person he loves over and over again. hes angry. but that's hidden under all that logic.)

and i think after the fight, after they escape, irratino's realized. maybe logico hasn't. but irratino has. logico was angry at him, for faking his death so many times. for running. logico wants him to stay. please.

Ok outside of firmly believing that those parents HAVE to be legacies (esperanza ESPECIALLY or at least she saw thru the mist) I'm just gonna blab about an AU that makes me laugh. The way I spent 30 mins writing this instead of my finals...

Quick run down: the three of them were friends, tristan and beryl as childhood friends actually, and then they accidentally kill a man (monster)

Beryl:

Grew up poor in a small town, "trailer trash", extremely critical alcoholic mother. Dad left when she was a kid. Had an older brother who left as soon as he could and never calls

Enjoyed watching movies and tv to imagine a better life she can live in

Nerdy as hell in school, wore the biggest glasses in the world. Had a huge crush on tristan for YEARS, especially when he got hot in high school, but liked him before too

Esperanza

Has the sight, can see thru the mist and it scares the shit out of her. Part of why Rosa thinks Leo is fucking devilspawn cuz Esperanza thought she was seeing demons. She moved around a lot growing up because of that fear, but also Hazel's curse

Kinda a rebellious punk, wildchild younger sibling. Her and Rosa are CONSTANTLY fighting

She moves into Tristan and Beryl's town in high school, after her mom died.

There's a satyr and demigod in her class. She doesnt think too much of it. Her teacher is weird....

Tristan

Kinda geeky, has 5 siblings but never talks about them too much. Was always a very sweet and quiet kid. Childhood friends with beryl, also poor too

Super into Ezperanza because she's different. Even when she's weird and mumbling about being chased she's still sooo cool compared to the town they're in.

Okay so now that they're in high school... I think this would be the early 80s 🙂 they essentially are together in a rag tag group, lost trio style, until they see a demigod getting attacked. Tristan hits the monster with his car. The 3 of them are HORRIFIED because they killed a man, but Esperanza keeps talking about monsters and explains it. The demigod's satyr is fucking young Hedge 💀 he's shit at his job so he just tells them about demigods and stuff.

Beryl is slowly ENAMORED by this. Starts drinking from this event but she is DELIGHTED by the idea of a new better world out there. Ezperanza feels like SHIT! She thinks this is all her fault and she's cursed. Tristan is going CRAZY, racked with grief. He is not doing well at ALL!!!!

Anyway they go to college with this in California together, mostly out of being closer but also fear of this secret (dead body) weighing on them. A few more monster and minor god encounters. Eventually, Hedge has to mist-wipe Tristan's memories because hes going crazy, which causes Hedge's issue with the Council of satyr elders or whatever. Idk its in the books lol. But this causes them all to separate and go their separate ways when Tristan can't remember the other two.

Beryl drops out of college, and gets scouted as she is waitressing. Has her big break, goes onto TV and gets famous. She begins to forget some of the little things about how much the demigod world is HORRIBLE. Once, she meets up with Esperanza and they stumble into a minor god, which makes her remember how much she wants to be in that world. She meets Zeus at a party :) and thinks he's charming and powerful, just different. It reminds her of the monster experience. She fucks that man obviously. Desire for something different to her shit life. She is CRAZY!!! 🩷

Esperanza goes to New Rome Uni because i luv that place idk if they allow mortals but she will!!!!! Because she goes to that fake school, no mortals really take her degree seriously which is why it was harder for her to get a job. Never taken seriously. She heads back to Texas eventually. She know he's Hepaestus when he approaches her at a library, doesn't like the idea of getting involved with that god stuff. Still falls in love. When her great grandfather falls ill (Sammy) she demands hepaestus to stay with her. He doesn't obviously, but he promises to come back, if not for her than for Leo. He has to. He doesn't.

Tristan doesn't go to college, he just works at like, fucking Hollister or Abercrombie because he's hot now. He meets Aphrodite a few times but she's busy and he doesnt give in. Eventually they meet at the beach surfing and she's like "I've been trying to get your attention for a while now"... She doesn't tell him she's a goddess but Tristan kinda has a familiar feeling. He's forgotten what it was but she just feels different. When piper grows up, aphrodite sends little gifts to "her favorite heartthrob" and he just gives it to Piper.

......

Anyway it was just putting little seeds together + being crazy. Beryl and Esperanza sometimes still talked. They met once when they were pregnant and talked about their kids playing together. Esperanza, seeing theu the mist, had an idea that Beryl was fucking a god, but its not like she has high standing either. Beryl and Tristan bumped into each other with their acting careers, but Tristan doesnt really remember Beryl the way he should. Esperanza and Tristan have some kind of twisted relationship I fear of will they, wont they with Beryls jealousy 🙄 such it is. Naturally the same with Beryl and Esperanza 🙏

ok so first things first, i loooove gatwa's doctor so much already. if nothing else, i love the masterclass in acting he's putting on, his expressiveness is so impressive. he brings a very fun energy to the role

the church on ruby road has me feeling a bit mixed as well. the plot was kind of meh, and i didn't like how in the alternate universe ruby's mum was just so mean without her. it didn't make sense. like what makes ruby so special, hm 🤨 what's this one white blond baby got that all the other babies in the world don't 🤨 i know the point was to show how much ruby meant to her mum, but like. there are other ways to do it than have a complete 180 in characterization.

i'm honestly not super interested in the mystery of ruby's parentage (which apparently seems like it will be a huge thing unless they're just making stuff up to fake us out, in which case, good on them). but i don't want it to be some big reveal i'm sorry 😩 especially not because if it is, people will bend over backwards to say how great storytelling it is when they'd never say that if moffat did a plot like this. i hadn't even considered the possibility really, when i'd first watched it, i thought it's just not that deep, but maybe i'm wrong. the people who are theorizing that ruby is rose and tentoo's daughter are sooo funny though like

ur only saying that because she's blond and we all know nobody on this show can be blond without being related to The Blond(tm) 🙄

that literally means they abandoned their kid. yes. such good parents 😫

i also feel like we didn't....really get to know ruby that well? i'll reserve judgement to give them more time obviously, and millie seems very green (not a judgement on her, and she and ncuti seem to have a lot of fun energy together) so there's still time and there's a lot of time in general for the stories to get going, and it had to do double duty as a christmas special and an intro episode for both new doctor and new companion so like, my feelings may also change with time. anyways those are my thots for now

they stand in "tecnically immortal" territory, they dont die of old age* , but theres definitely been diamond deaths before, at which point a new one comes into existence somewhere on earth, growing up as normal until the horrors start acting up <3

*i mean they *could* die of old age but theyre yet to find that one out lmao

Blake grows up as an only child to a commoner family in the Time´s end era (so a couple centuries behind modern time), after a particularly bad encounter with a Void, he decides he's getting away from them and only coming back when he knows how to handle himself and protect them.

problem is so many things happen after this, that what was *supposed* to be a short journey gets overshadowed by the mass memory wipe and world rearrangement (fun!) so he never got to properly say goodbye *or* come back home since he´s a Diamond and deffo on the list of things theyre trying to sweep under the rug and away from the general public at that point

he (illegally) visits them often though! always with fake identities and never staying for too long or getting too close. subtly helping wherever he can, food, money, supplies... he finds out they had another son a while later, he always wanted a little brother...

(And this is where the OC brainrot demons took over agdhsgdhgs)

it´s a sunny, breezy spring afternoon. Over half a lifetime has passed since he first left home, his brother already married and had children of his own.

The family is together today, no one dares say why, but Blake knows, he´s sure everyone knows. His mother´s health hasn´t been the best for years now, but it´s really been on a nosedive these last couple weeks. From this distance, he can tell theres a freshly made rhubarb pie on the table, his mother´s favorite, and a vegetable stew brewing in the fireplace. it´s a little different, the ratios are probably off and he´s sure they´ve added a new ingredient, squash, maybe?

Anyways he always hated that stew, he´s sure a little change won´t be able to fix that, the carrots were always a little undercooked and the potatoes were always too big, and whatever spices his mother added always came with the threat of dirt crunching on your teeth, they'd always have to bribe him with a trip to the library and-

He finally registers the tears streaming down his face and hastily wipes them away. Its a miracle no one's noticed him yet, he's been stood here for way too long.

That night, he sneaks his way into her room, he doesnt care if he´s getting an earful and a half from Sage and Gwen later, this is more important, he'll take whatever consequence he has to.

His Dad isnt there, he´s in the living room placating one of his precious grandchildren, whos kicking up a fuss over the creaky sounds of the woods sounding like "big scary monsters with sticks", whatever that means...

Blake stands before his mother, sleeping peacefully aside from her shallow breaths.

It´s the first time he´s seen her up close in several decades. Her once dark brown hair now almost completely white, her face as beautiful as ever but now adorned with the blatantly obvious signs of age, the way she always smiled permanently etched into the wrinkles of her face even while resting. Her once strong and firm hands, fit for a hard worker, now wrinkled and frail, yet still bearing the scar from that nasty injury she got while protecting him from the Void, the reason he left home in the first place.

Blake takes her hand without thinking (just like he used to when he was a small child, when he´d had a nightmare and was scared of the dark) (Just like he did after they´d been attacked bu the Void then drew it away covered in blood)

He holds on a little tighter, kneeling at the side of her bed. If he wasnt crying before he definitely is now. He has so much to say even if she won't hear it. But he can´t seem to get anything but choked sobs out.

"Blake...?" He´s snapped right out of his thoughts, feeling as if time has slowed down

"Mom?" He replies, barely in a whisper. Blake's heart breaks a little, if the memory spell is wearing off it means her energy is dangerously weak, this is it.

"Oh honey did you have another nightmare?" She weakly outstreches her other hand, gesturing for a hug "Come here"

"Yeah, a nightmare" Blake sinks into her side, holding on as tight as he can without hurting her "I'm okay thought".

"Of course you are, my big, brave boy!"

They stay in silence, aside from his muffled sniffles and sobs. He tries to carve everything from this moment permanently into his brain. Like a heartfelt inscription on a gravestone.

"I'm sorry I took so long" he sobs "I'm so so so sorry"

"You have nothing to be sorry for" She smiles that radiant smile at him, the one that told him everything was going to be okay "you're here" She ruffles his hair sootingly "you're home"

"I missed you so much mom, I love you, i-"

"It's okay, shh it's okay, we love you too"

Before he can say anything else, he hears footsteps outside the door, with a turn of the knob soon it creaks open, Blake sinks into the shadows before he can be spotted.

Later, when Sage finds him, culrled up near a tree with a broken swing just outside of town, Blake expects him to berate him, ban him from the entire town or maybe turn him over to the Ensata clan.

He does catch a hint of anger in his expression, but it's quickly replaced with something else, pity? Guilt? Empathy? He doesn't look at him long enough to figure it out

they sit in silence in the cold of the night for hours, until sunlight starts peeking through the tree tops. Then Sage finally speaks up "I should get home, they'll be looking for us soon"

Blake is the first to stand up "lets go then" he dusts himself off, giving one last wipe to his puffy, tear stained mess of a face " no use worrying them over nothing" Blake offers his hand

Sage frowns but still takes his hand.

I work as a tutor in a program for aspiring teachers at an elementary school, and I stumbled on a book that I used to read as a kid- “Skippyjon Jones.” Basically, it’s about a Siamese cat who thinks he’s a Chihuahua and… hoo boy. There’s stereotypes galore- fake Spanish where they basically tack on an o or ito to a word, bandidos, and I kid you not- the Chihuahuas are mad that a bandit stole their beans. Yes, you heard me right- BEANS. Of course, there’s people who are like “it’s not racist snowflakes everyone’s so pc” but lots of Latine people and others have said that it makes them uncomfortable. I myself am Latine and cringed while reading it.

So I have seen these books but until you messaged me I'd forgotten about them for well over 8 years I think. I was given a skippy jon jones book back in 2007. (full disclosure I was in college but had not yet applied cultural appropriation to like media critically in fact I'm not sure I'd taken even one class on anthropology which is where the term comes from).

I'll try to dig up my copy but mean while I might just take pix of the books from my local library and talk about the specific examples.

Like don't get me wrong I understand you're sitting there uncomfortable in your observations about this series but I just want people to know that this is probably something how like Native Americans feel seeing their cultures appropriated in the HP series (or how Jewish people feel when they're examining the Goblins in the series for that matter).

Like the frustrating thing tho is that there's plenty of examples of this sort of thing in literature where white people have literally made fun of our cultures and bastardized them for their own gain.

Like ok I was just at starbucks today with a friend and granted I haven't really sat inside a starbucks more than like twice since the pandemic hit. Anyways I heard a ranchera song playing (I can't be sure if it was vicente fernandez my friend shazamed it). and like granted I've heard other non white artists playing at Starbucks before. but like its nice that they know their audience (somewhere in California lol) and there's nothing wrong with appreciating music from another culture you know? Just as long as its not some white person profitting of nonwhite cultures (looking at you madonna for the fetishization of black bodies in the 80's/90's, looking at you gwen stefani for the use of literal asian women as your entourage, looking at you ariana grande for blackface).

the difference is that Starbucks is endorsing our Mexican culture by playing rancheras by mexican singer/songwriters. meanwhile Judy Byron Schachner was treating Mexican culture like a play thing and profitting off of her bastardization.

Yuya sat at the part of Maiami that overlooks its huge stadium—the place he always goes when he’s sad or wants to go away to a place away from people.

What happened this time is something more mature people would consider ridiculous… for the first part, anyway.

Today, he saw a group of kids climbing a tree together with Yuzu and Gongenzaka as they went home from school.

Little Yuya wanted to try climbing the tree himself, ignoring Yuzu and Gongenzaka’s protests and warnings because he wanted to try what the other kids were doing.

This… did not end well.

The other kids wanted the tree for themselves and as a result, they dueled for it, and Yuya lost greatly.

What was worse, they made fun of his dad, reminding him of how he was a coward because he didn’t show up to his duel against Strong Ishijima.

Now, Yuya didn’t like that they said that and got into a physical fight with them. Gong helped out, and so did Yuzu, but at some point he couldn’t handle it—the painful reminder of his dad, not the fight—anymore and just… ran.

The kids called him a coward too for doing so. It hurt, though they were right… The truth always hurts, as people’d say.

So what was supposed to be just him wanting to climb a tree had turned into a remembrance about his dad.

It’s always his dad, huh…

‘They didn’t need to remind me that…’ Yuya thought, looking at the sunset through his goggles, which was filled with quite a lot of tears.

“Yuya!” Yuzu’s voice echoed from behind him.

He quickly took his goggles off, dropped the water from them, and wiped his eyes.

“Yuya…” He heard the relief clear in Yuzu’s voice. Turning around, he saw Yuzu happily running up to him, her little pink dress a bit dirtied from all the pushing earlier.

Yuya gave her a smile—although it was fake—to hopefully give her some more relief. “Hi…”

“You just ran off!” she scolded through panting breaths as she stopped beside him. “I’m sorry for saying this, but that was very chicken of you!”

Yuya frowned. “I know…” he muttered lowly. “I didn’t mean to…”

He felt his heart starting to throb again. His eyes also swelled as if tears were to come out any minute. He clenched his fists.

“You shouldn’t have started that fight,” Yuzu went on more gently, sitting behind him. “They were trying to make you angrier on purpose, you know that.”

“They called my dad a coward…” Yuya’s breathing became quick again, but he tried to stop it—tried to tell himself not to cry, to keep that feeling of sadness from oozing out of him. “I wished I had been better—better at dueling, better at fighting…!”

But no one can keep such a feeling to themselves forever. And when your body and mind feels like it really needs to, that feeling will come anyway despite one’s efforts to hold it in.

He put on his goggles again and pulled his knees to himself to hug them.

He then buried his face there to hide it from Yuzu as he continued to cry.

That feeling was too much. It had grown too big to just keep it in now, and for some reason, it thought to let itself show now.

It’s so stupid, Yuya thought, rubbing his fingers together and curling his little toes in his little shoes.

He then hugged himself tighter.

“Why’s there people l-like this…? Why can’t they just…” he tried to speak, his breaths and voice shaky. “Disappear, and though I dont want to think bad of other people: be gone?”

“Yuya, those kinds of people will always exist…” Yuzu muttered. ”We can't really do much about them.”

That didn't seem to work, though.

He continued to sob, shaking his head. Great, his snot was starting to go out. He wiped it off with his shirt-jacket.

Yuzu just watched him, not really knowing what to do to calm her best friend down.

She looked out to the sunset as if it’d help in any way.

Of course, the sun isn’t exactly gonna help calm Yuya down, but… it made her remember.

Remember this one, specific, certain little song.

It’s helped her feel better during the times she herself was down, and there won’t be any shame in sharing or trying it with Yuya now, right?

And with a hum of the beginning, she began…

She heard Yuya stop sobbing for a bit. Probably wondering why she just started to sing.

Yuzu looked up at the horizon, trailing her eyes to the setting sun.

She traced the outline of the bridge and stadium with her little index finger,

She then just sang from there, not noticing how Yuya had already removed his goggles, now just dangling on his neck, and smiled at her.

As she did, Yuya went and joined her by the rail, also watching what was left of the sun’s summit on the horizon.

This surprised the former, although she liked it.

For a few moments after this, the two just sat there for a while, sitting down there behind the green handrail.

They relished in the salty scent of the sea brought about by the cool breeze that brushed past them, as well as the glow of the sun setting yonder.

It was a nice, peaceful moment. And the realization that it's just the two of them here made the experience even more amazing.

Finally, Yuya felt a bit of… True, solemn tranquility within his heart and mind.

“Yuzu,” he began, listening to some far away squacks by some seagulls, “why'd you sing that song to me?”

“Oh, silly…” she laughed, “it was… To make you feel better, ya know?”

She looked towards him. “I know I yelled at you, but I also know that that alone won't make you feel better. And I didn't know how else to help calm you down, and I thought that the song helped me calm down… So maybe it will calm you, too.”

“Oh…”

To be frank, the song actually did help calm him.

And he was grateful for it, for if it weren't for his precious friend and her soothing song, who knows how long he would've stayed where he was — just dwelling on those awful thoughts and events.

He turned to Yuzu, observing her happy, serene expression as she looked towards the stadium.

“Who knows, Yuya,” she started out of the blue. “Maybe someday, you'll be able to avenge your dad and defeat his annoying opponent.”

“You're right.” He stood up. “You know? I'm gonna do it—one day. Not today yet, but at some point in the future. Soon enough!”

Yuzu giggled and stood next to him as well. “I'll be looking forward to that day, Yuya. But for now, learn to defeat me and Gong first! If you can't, you probably will never survive even just a minute with the guy!”

“Don't worry, Yuzu. I will!” He gave her a determined smile. “I will do my best!”

Later, they met up with Gong again. For some reason, they decided to try and climb a different tree anyway, as Yuya so desired.

To a nearby hill they went as quickly as they could so as to go home before it gets too dark.

And when they got to their preferred tree, Yuya scaled it at once and, when he reached the top, was rewarded with the perfect, small view of Maiami.

Some buildings had their lights turned on already as night was approaching fast, and it was… Really nice to see the nice orange-pink-blue contrast of the sky above them combined with said buildings and other structures.

When they climbed down, he fell at some point, but… He was fine with it (even though it did, in fact, leave him with some bruises and scars).

It was just four feet anyway.

He got scolded by Yoko a lot when he got home, of course, and he took it to himself to listen to her.

And when he was finally in bed, he smiled remembering the stuff that happened that day.

Sure, there was that, but then again, good things can't happen without bad things, and the same vise-versa. How will something be considered good if there is no bad?

And as Yuzu had sung, this world…

It was one of laughter, as well as tears… A world full of hope, but also fear.

And those things do coexist.

But yeah. He got to climb the tree too, that was fun.

He raised his hand to glance at the bandaged scars he got and giggled. They were just a small price to pay for such an amazing view.

And that thing he talked about with Yuzu… How, one day, he'll beat his dad's annoying opponent. And Gong and… her, too, of course.

Maybe even, he hopes, beat his own dad…

He just knows it.

Turning to his headboard, he picked up his pendulum and made it sway. Back and forth it did.

Yep. One day, things will swing his way…

He exhaled happily. One day. There will be a day for all those one day. Not now, but soon.

But for now, what he needed to do was sleep.

And, looking at his glowing stars and duel monsters scattered across his dark ceiling one last time, that's what he decided to do. Of course, he put his pendulum back onto his headboard gently first.

It didn't take long for him to fall into deep slumber.

Where did you hear the owl house leaks were fake?

OK. WELL. SO. full disclosure: i'm not... 100% sure that they're fake. i have a lot of reasons as to why i think they're fake but if i'm being honest i'm only about 90% sure. my post was, admittedly, somewhat wishful thinking.

so! why do i think they're fake? [spoiler-free edition]

i'll start with the reasons that don't have to do with the images themselves. namely, i've seen several different posts of people talking about the leak, and the gist i've gathered is: someone on reddit/twitter (not sure which lol) claims that they have the full "thanks to them" special... but hasn't posted the actual full episode anywhere, and has only posted a couple of spoilery screenshots. i've also seen a few people in the toh tag asking for links to the full special (not cool guys) and none of them seem to have any luck so far. all of that leads me to believe that the special hasn't actually been leaked, and the images are fake.

now, i'll talk about the images themselves - putting this under a read more just in case (the images won't be under the cut btw, just my speculations about them)

so! i took a closer look at the images and they definitely look fake to me. in particular, hunter doesn't have his haircut; his hair looks the same as it was back in season 2 (with maybe a little bit of growth). several other people have thrown in their two cents, so from what i can tell, these images are just speculative fanart? or fake screenshots, which people do love making lol.

admittedly, the only leaked images i've seen are: the two of belos-possessed hunter (one with flapjack, one with luz), and the one of everyone gathered around hunter as he... dissolves? or, flapjack does?? well. ok then. anyways.

the first two, of possessed hunter, look pretty fake to me. hunter's hair, as i mentioned, is the same as it used to be, with maybe a little growth (i can see a fanartist drawing it like that to account for a possible timeskip). oh, and he's wearing a wolf graphic tee, which i can see being a reference to dana's art of hunter and hooty together (also possibly speculative from a fanartist's pov)

luz is in her luzura fit i think? which goes against what we've seen of the special so far, i don't think there's been a single image of her in that outfit (also it doesn't really match her vibe of the season of, um. depression lol). also! in the one of luz and possessed-hunter, luz is holding what i'm assuming is her palisman staff... which conveniently has the palisman itself hidden behind hunter's head lol. idk about you but that screams fake screenshot to me.

AND THEN... the third image. everyone gathered around hunter as he... dissolves. or, flapjack is dissolving on top of him and hunter is just conveniently passed out.

i gotta say, this one made me pause for a second. everyone's designs are updated - except for hunter, he still has his old hair, and luz, who's still in her luzura fit from the previous "screencap". but what you have to remember is that these leaked after the new footage was released on oct. 6th. i can absolutely see a fanartist hurriedly editing their fake screenshot to incorporate the new designs before posting their images.

if these are real, then... i could maybe, possibly see it. hunter getting possessed by belos, duh, i can picture that 100%. luz could be in her luzura outfit instead of one of her depression fits to symbolize her getting back into the game and regaining her determination or whatever. hunter's hair could be back to its usual look because belos, while possessing hunter, somehow made it grow back to what he's used to hunter having, to show that hunter will always belong to him or whatever. maybe hunter will die and that will allow a portal to be opened, so everyone can go back - or, flapjack sacrifices himself to bring hunter back, as one last act of love.

i kiiiiinda doubt it though lol. that shit is depressing.

Re: writing to music - it depends on my mood! When I am struggling to get words down I definitely think it helps to focus me in the right ‘tone’. For NETG I used that miserable playlist a LOT lmao. Sometimes I get overexcited though and have to ‘dance around my room’ - a thing I have done my entire life and is not dancing at all, rather me hurtling from one end of my room to another, grinning madly as the made up people in my head do things I want them to.

ok im getting sick of how fucking gullible people on the internet are now. so many people are cycling shit they just "heard" someone else say about someone with like 200 followers or some shit and everyone that sees that post goes "oh lol didn't like em anyways" and unquestionably repeats it everywhere they see that name. completely unprompted. like a sleeper cell moment where they hear that name and are just compelled to repeat that one piece of misinformation that heard 2 years ago

people lie on the internet. that shit ain't shocking to me, but somehow when that thing happened with daniel avidan being accused of being a groomer, and 3 days later the OP of the original callout post admitted that the 7 or so pieces of evidence was all bullshit, and a few days after that the girl that submitted all of that evidence said "yeah its all fake lol" and people were shocked? why are you shocked? hes a fucking comedian/rockstar/cohost on a weirdly podcasty letsplay channel. why wouldn't people make shit up about him?

"but what did they have to gain from all that? all that evidence and it was fake? why do all that?" idk why does anyone lie? cus people just do that. its normal. it may not be pleasant, but its just what people do

people lie about other people. if you can think of a reason for it, people have done it for that reason

maybe they were bored and just wanted to see how others react

maybe they thought it would be funny to piss off the person they were lying about

maybe they thought it would be funny to see how quickly people eat up misinformation so unthinkingly

maybe they wanted to make a point and faked some evidence just to measure how quick it spreads

maybe they genuinely don't like that person, and they wanted to cause a lot of problems for their personal lives

maybe they genuinely don't like that person and want to make others not like them too. "tear them down a peg, that'll show em" and all that

"yeah but they're annoying so fuck em. why should i put in so much effort over someone i don't even care about?" ok and i think you're annoying for thinking like that, do i get to irreparably fuck up your legs with a shovel cus you're annoying? do i get to irreversibly fuck up your life from here on just cus you inconvenienced me with the minor displeasure of annoyance?

if you see someone repeating some accusations, please for your own sake and theirs, check to see if its even true. you have only peace of mind for you, and those you tell these things to for checking.

at best, you'll find out that random letsplayer really is a rapist and they deserved the backlash coming their way, but at worse, its wrong, you didn't check, and you're another drop of rain in the flood that will permanently destroy an innocent persons life.

opinion on blended movie . i have seen this movie way too many times against my will

because of this ask i started watching it for the first time so you're getting a fresh review 👍 im just going to add to this as i watch.

⚠️ LONG POST (sorry)

first 5 min its eh not too bad, honestly i watched one of the worst adam sandler movies ever last night so everything seems fine its like eating cheap canned soup after only eating rotten food for a day. i like drew barrymore generally so im some what optimistic for her character.

i spoke too soon, it is not improving. this plot is extremely predictable i can tell its enemies to lovers very fanfic troupe whatever everything doesn't have to be groundbreaking cinema but it feels lazy. it has quite a few good actors so thats a plus?

my least favorite bit so far is the 12 (?) year old boy with a crush on the babysitter. i know thats normal it happens but the whole way of addressing it is unfunny jerking off humor yk. also not a continuing thing but i thought the period jokes were strange bc they're just inaccurate, its strange to me that two actresses were backing up that tampon size correlates to pussy size and that when your older you stretch out, its literally that frank iero meme the what pussy size are you- i didnt know people actually believed that lol. also another thing thats very typical for these type of movies were the lesbian jokes about the main character and her friend, it felt like it was going on too long. the joke seems like a one off comment adams character would make not a 3 minute convo yk. i personally didnt find it offensive but it was just long and unfunny, to be fair last night i watched the most stereotype of a movie besides zohan so far.

ooo terry cruz hes in this one as well. i like him too so again i hope his character turns out ok. nothing really to say about them going to africa, very predictable and you immediately find out what happened no suspense. the boy jokes about his daughters are a bit strange, short hair on women is not uncommon in south africa? in 2015 which i assume is around when the movie takes place it wasnt a wild concept, a ton of south african women have short hair and every other hair length. i dont get it. anyways.

ok some american guy made the joke too. i think all these people are stupid, bella thorne just dresses casual and has short hair.

can you tell i forgot everyones names, this is not very memorable.

NOOO THEY'RE GOING TO GIVE HER A "GIRL" MAKEOVER DAMN IT WHY. she likes it more thats fine but i hate when this always happens in movies I wish for once they'd do an opposite makeover where they go from feminine to masculine. she really just said "the boys at school think im a lesbian but not the hot kind". why does this movie have so many lesbian and "she looks like a man" jokes.

i cant believe im only halfway done. im really wondering the conflict of this movie, or does nothing happen?

her makeover is fine im glad she likes it but i still dont appreciate the casual clothes short hair slander smh. and why is adam sandlers character so mad like shes 15 bro let her figure herself out.

i feel like drew is doing a lot of motherly stuff and really getting close with the girls but adam did like one thing with one son so far.

the scenes with not a lot of talking and them just doing stuff isn't too bad, it kinda feels like a vacation ad ha.

drew barrymore looks so pretty in that dress, and terry cruz has a nice singing voice. wow i think we aren't getting conflict. huh. where are they going to pull out an argument for this. wish i was stargazing rn.

ew wait no i hit the conflict, so her ex husband is insecure and lying. cool. sad adam leaving the house music. im cringing at her ex flirting with her blegh. can they just figure this out already he lied adam likes you get together the end.

slay adam and his kids showed up for the ball game. are they going to get past the misunderstanding yet. this part of the movie isn't too bad it could be the joy of only 7 minutes left.

why did the kids just call each others parents hot. ok.

well its not the worst movie ive seen, but its not one i would rewatch either, it feels very early 2000s so im suprised it was made so recently. i would say overall its a 5/10 on the sandler scale, nowhere near as bad as zohan or ridiculous 6 but not as good as say bedtime story*.

*i wouldn't give that one a perfect rating or even an 8 but it falls on the better side of the scale rather than the negative
