Hello, I came to Creep after loving your ep on The Dramione Effect and can’t believe it took me so long. Please know you have acquired one more superfan. I downed the entire fic in about a day and a half, and then went back to reread … I did my UG degree at Oxford in the mid Nineties and the love letter to the University experience is almost as romantic as the Dramione. Anyway, the reason I’m DMing you rather than commenting on AO3 is because I wanted to ask if anyone has requested to podfic this? How do you feel about the idea? I am only dipping my toe in the water of recording, ans I have loads to learn and need to practice my editing on some oneshots before tackling anything novel-length like this wonderful creation - but this is a fic I feel I could read. If you might be interested, could I do a sample over the Xmas hols to send you for thoughts?

There is currently a version of creep being audiorecorded and is available on Spotify! I have no idea what the etiquette is in terms of doubling up on these sorts of things, so I await greater clarification from those more experienced. (*nudges those towards the comment section to sound off*)

My personal view is fan fiction is fan fiction, and encompasses a million different variations. If multiple artists can recreate the same scene should audio artists not be able to do the same? On the other hand, does the extensive work required to make a recording of a longform fic espeicallly suggest that it’s not okay to do more than one? These are genuine questions and I can see both points of view (I’m a Libra)

However, I greatly appreciate the request :’)

Every single comment that moans about the slow burn I want to ask: when was the last time you stared directly into the eyes of a person you felt vulnerable in front of and said exactly what you feel?

I have never been on the same page as fandom’s clear communication fetishists and I never will be. I love miscommunication, concealment, pigheadedness, and lies. I think characters should talk around what they have to say and ignore each other and impute needs and beliefs onto others that have nothing to do with those other people and everything to do with maintenance of the ego. A little clear communication is fine but it should come at the end and be earned by repeated instances of snobbery, tomfoolery, self righteousness, or blockheadedness. If you decide you hate a character just because that character isn’t communicating in the way a therapist might coach them to, well consider that people don’t actually talk like that at all and that most of us get things wrong many times before we inch our way out of the labyrinthine darkness of our own heads.

If i was hypothetically considering expanding a certain Viking one-shot, should i:

- keep Harry Potter names for all the other people in the court even though they are terribly terribly anachronistic

OR

- use the historically accurate real names of the people the characters are loosely based on (a sort of fan fiction in itself) but which have no relation to a Viking ‘Harry potter’ universe.

Considering that this is a muggle AU anyway so it is basically as far away from hp as you can get…
