ive probably talked about it before but there is obviously an inherent tragedy when it comes to the awakening second gen that is present in all of their characters, but some of them are definitely more comic relief-y than others? which is fine but i think the funniest thing ever is the devs making inigo fire emblem almost entirely a gimmick haha funny character (with like. TWO exceptions in his supports and those two exceptions are literally just his parents) and then realizing “hey people kinda like this guy. lets switch it up a bit for the dlc” and then made like. the best character in the world. like who knew all people needed to enjoy the womanizer trope was to drop him in situations where flirting was no longer an option. then come fates hes like a whole different guy (in a good way!) which, yes you can chalk up to him growing up, but theres a clear difference in how he was written and how selena and odin were written in the same guy and you can just see how the writers were like “holy shit we struck gold with this one” like its crazy hes crazy hes my favorite guy in the world. AND HES STILL FUNNY

Small Announcement!!

Since coding is kicking my ass and I am probably going to have to start from scratch anyway, I'm gonna try and make the game in Rpgmaker instead!! I'll probably be using an old version and the game will still be free, but if that doesn't go well I'll just pivot back to Godot and start again :/

I'm just having a lot of trouble with the coding and having to flip between different tutorials ( aka needing a tutorial for one thing but the finding out I need a different tutorial for something else or THAT to work)

I did learn a lot about Godot and while I think another game would be fun to make with it in the future, for this specific TYPE of game I'm gonna try something else. It does feel kind of like I'm giving up, but there are literally no tutorials for Turn Based RPGs ( that aren't shit) in Godot 4.3, which is making it hard to piece all the knowledge together ;-;

I will definitely try it again when I have other ideas that aren't Turn based RPGs tho :)

Also, literally all of the inspo for this game ( minus Undertale/Deltarune) was made with RPGMaker. So it will probably be a lot easier to figure out how to actually make it the way I want it to be made :)

TLDR: Switching to making the game with RPGMaker instead of Godot. Will one day make a game with Godot. Game will still be free.

You know, after playing for a while, I've got to say that, in my opinion, Veilguard is a good, fun game and I've been having a blast with it. Some legitimate criticism could and should be made towards Veilguard, yes. And those things are not mutually exclusive. But considering the current internet environment, I'd worry to be piled up with the howling maniacs that act like the game somehow killed their dog, stole their family jewels, and burned down their house with its writing alone (because the previous games were all absolutely perfect, apparently), or with the "anti-woke" brigade who get their panties into twist over every little bit of diversity in the game, spending their free time trying to review bomb the game everywhere despite not having tried it, and who sound like they want most of us dead, so... If I look like I'm just having some carefree fun here, trying not to think about this shit, it's because I am.
