THIS MIGHT SOUND A LITTLE DUMB. but i was hit with Dottore Thoughts in the car today and was just thinking like. what if that funky little blue fluid in dottie's earring thing serves as like an emergency medication/antidote for fragile!reader just in case of an emergency? it's able to stabilize reader at the least. he's always ready! just my thoughts hehe :-)

Besides being known for his experiments, another signature of Il Dottore seems to be the blue liquid that accompanies him, sometimes in a separate vial but always swirling around in his earring. One can only guess what that blue liquid is, but given the kind of man Dottore is, it probably isn't anything nice. Perhaps some sort of poison or sedative is the guess of most agents. Good for his kind of work. Unsurprisingly, their guess used to be right.

Used to.

As of now, the earring no longer holds what it used to be. Now, it is the opposite - instead of it being used to inflict pain, it is used to help someone. That someone being none other than you (because who else would he sincerely want to help?) As time went by, it was needed for him to adapt to the current you. You could be fine this minute, but in the next, anything could happen. Illness does such things to you. Oftentimes Dottore finds himself swirling around the liquid once more, and wondering if it's time to start working on a new formula. There's no telling what could happen.

Not to mention, the longer you've been with him, the more you want to leave his reach. You want to go outside. You want to go into town and watch plays and operas. You want to start shivering and sneezing from the snow as you play with Zandy. So many ways it could lead to unpredictability, but it is no problem for Dottore. He will always have things under control and be prepared for any possible situation. (A part of it also comes from your complaining about how it's not nice to randomly be stabbed with a needle.)

Needless to say, all the segments find themselves with a new earring, but no one else would be able to tell the difference. Not even you, at first. Which is why you're naturally a bit scared when all of a sudden he snaps the earring off and somehow opens it at record speed. Unfortunately, it doesn't taste like blue raspberry, but it does somehow make you feel better!

Dottore's always working on something to help you feel better, and you couldn't be more grateful, although you are a bit apologetic for all of his time-consuming efforts.

ok look no matter what, i think ill always be obsessed with dl-6. i know, its kinda overused at this point, but the whole thing is so amazing

like,, miles obviously didn’t know he was innocent, but gregory didnt either. when they channeled him he said it was the bailiff (forgot his name srry) even though there was no proof, because he wanted to protect his son. and the result of a child convinced he is guilty for the death of his dad, who even after death tried to find a way to reassure him he was innocent??? just- the concept of this relationship is fascinating, and honestly has so much potential.

and then you add von karma, and the fact he was not only the murderer of the father but the adopter of the son??? just makes everything gets better (worse)

dl-6 will forever live in my head and in my heart bcs the overwhelming guilt at least two of the three must have felt!! (depends on your headcannons about manfred ofc, maybe he was slightly guilty or smth) the psychological impact and the aftermath of it? amazing. maybe its not perfectly written, nothing is, but its fascinating and makes me want to dissect all three’s brains to see the effects this would have caused.

How do you keep boundaries and find balance around your fandom experience?

I feel so bad saying this bc everyone is so nice but I feel pressure to keep up with and promote mutuals’ work and its starting to burn me out from being able to write

I hear this all the time and maybe this is the depression talking but oh man I want to respond to this.

People write SO. FAST. Can you imagine if I got angry every time one of my mutuals didn't reblog/comment/read one of my fics? I'd have no mutuals, no friends, nothing at all. Like at some point you have to trust your mutuals are actually your friends and they're not going to get upset if you don't hype every project they do.

And if they DO get upset, well...thats a reciprocal relationship built on a foundation of weeds and if it can crumble so easily, were you ever actually friends/mutuals at all? I know this is common in fandom spaces and I talk to people all the time who are like, so-and-so doesn't interact with me anymore since I didn't review/read/WHATEVER their last fic and I'm always like. Couldn't be me.

There are a million fics I'd like to read and a million more I'm 10+ chapters behind on. It's just not possible. And I think about like...me and @ablogofsapphicpanic who has only read the fics I've written FOR her. We talk every single day about everything and nothing at all. Or me and @the-lonelybarricade who spent so much time beta-ing for each other that if you went through our work during that time period, you'd probably find SO much overlap in our phrasing/structuring/whatever else. It was never a conscious decision to stop, just kind of a mutual recognition we were busy with our own things but were supporting the other (loudly!) from the sidelines.

My POINT is that this is your hobby! And of course engagement is important- we should hype up our mutuals whenever possible, and read their excellent work because we like what they do. And I think its okay to free yourself from the pressure of trying to do ALL of it, all of the time.

imo everyone who insists that saikis life was perfect and he was a spoiled brat complaining about nothing are just purposefully ignoring and misinterpreting the whole manga simply because they like other characters better and want to make up scenarios to make their fav seem like a precious little victim in every situation

its hard to explain but i see it happen a lot with specifically people who have dedicated accounts for other characters and constantly misattribute every issue to "saikis such a baby, my character has it way worse!" "saiki hurt my babys feelings once so i hate him!" "saikis such a spoiled brat, my baby has a way shittier life and never complains about it!" "saiki hurt my poor precious fav once so hes an abusive monster!"

and said "shittier life" that they "never complain" about is either the persons headcanons (literally made up) or... the character DOES complain about it and the person takes those words at FACE VALUE but ignores everything else, including things that actually HAPPEN right in front of our eyes
