I think when I have everything like, worked out, I might post the absolutely insane system I use for campaigns, like.

There is a reason I don't tag these posts dnd. This is held up by the fundamentals of bullshit and how much my brain can cook up and that's it.

Turning to the group of ppl who have played dnd and ppl who have never touched a ttrpg in their life: two of you will suffer greatly. It's the ones with experience.

My system basically priorities story and role play, then puzzles and exploration, then combat. I mostly cut out rests because like boo boring don't care. Combat? Much quicker, I hate numbers and don't want a turn to take 20 minutes. There's type advantages. I built a bloody type system.

I just reuse the same worldbuilding but in different spots. I made a silly Agency that works for literally every scenario and WILL be using them for such, thank you.

But yeah a lot of it is just me making a plotline and npcs, giving players their mission and telling them to make a character on call with me so we can live discuss what works, and based on that call and what type they choose I create their skills and abilities. They are always free to recommend things to me on how they see their character, and I take inspiration from there.

Like upcoming campaign? I gave them their roles beforehand since it's a shorter one and to keep it balanced. As I worked on the story, maps, and assets, they would hop on call and we would talk about their character. I put a human/hybrid (catgirl side of the chart) rule in due to the world they were playing in, and each player has found a way to work with that.

Currently the party is a lesbian swordswoman lizard-hybrid, a mage with a tree arm, an Irish man ready to throw hands, a nonbinary Healer that has an emo aesthetic and a giant hammer for their normal attacks, and a shark hybrid chef that throws pancakes and hot oil like Mr. Game and Watch.

Skills are balanced with cooldown rates instead of mana or whatever because I did not want to deal with that. The cooldown is how many turns you must go for before you get your ability back. You roll a d20 for everything, damage is predetermined so like it's just a crit/miss chance you roll for.

The 2 that have played dnd quite a bit hate this system. The 2 that play rpg games and have never touched a ttrpg think it makes perfect sense. I'm having fun. Everybody is stoked to start. Nobody really knows what to expect except for me, and I think that's beautiful.

Thinking about joels clones again.. do you think he can use his soul magic (sorry joel its not magic) to transfer his soul to any statue not just his clones.. imagine another hermit finding joels body collapsed at the base of one of his statues in his base and freaking out because he just decided to transfer his soul into it and go walkabouts... do you think the clone slash statue has to look like him.. just wandering round as the lizzie statue in his base nbd

for one, for the time i’ve been on here i went by any pronouns but now id like to just be referred to with he/they pronouns :) ive changed my prns like 6 million times in the last couple years but he/him and they/them pronouns feel the most comfortable for me !! with this id also like if fem terms weren’t used, anything thats not really gendered is okay as well as masc terms :p honestly if you’re ever confused just ask me

theres a community college near me with shockingly affordable tuition and they offer so many 2 year degrees that are extremely enticing. they have an animation and video game dev program, video and experimental media, library sciences and trades...... it's achievable. i could go one day, once i have a better paying job and the time on my hands. it's a straight shot from my bus stop so transportation wouldnt even be an issue. the only problem is, once i can afford to go, choosing which program i want to sink two years of my life into. i don't know what i want to do with my life yet! the most obvious choice money-wise is HVAC, which i am interested in and would enjoy doing, but jesus christ. an animation program....... they even have a storyboarding class and a robust art community..... you bastards i need a career that'll make me financially secure and you're dangling that beautiful 2 year animation degree over my head.

anyways!! so for this the lil backstory i made is that, dazai snuck off from work to slack off. leaving his trench coat over some pillows to make it look like he was napping again wile he snuck out of the building. this was also one of chuuyas rare days off. they run into eachother to both of their perceived annoyances, fighting themselves into an alley way. dazai ends up with chuuyas hat and somehow they both end up in a metal crate.

little did they know(they sorta knew but yknow) there was a new sorta gang in the port that had heard of double black and planned this. the box is welded shut and they made sure it was small enough so dazai and chuuya would alwase be touching(so chuuya cant activate his powers and somehow get them out). mabey there was a user with a temporary sleep ability to help stuff out?

im not fully sure- what do they do in the box? you can decide ;> ;> i think at some point atsushi ends up saving them but for now all there is is them and a box. letting this idea go free for anyone who wants to expand on it, only thing i ask is link back to art so others that may wanna see can see and that you somehow link it to me to read because i would go crazy and love to see smth- yee yee thats all thank youuu

"Does Shen Qiao even like Yan Wushi?"

I feel like it may be relatively easy for people to pick out "what does Yan Wushi like about Shen Qiao / what does YWS get out of yanshen." but I think a criticism/line of thought I see around is people struggling with "well what does Shen Qiao get out of all of this?" and like, "does SQ even like YWS, what with how YWS annoys him and gets him angry all the time."

But I think that actually is the crux of their relationship, lol. Because if you think about it, to everyone else, Shen Qiao is this lofty ideal, this untouchable immortal/仙, maybe even this obstacle or goal to conquer or shoot down.

Who else treats him casually and teases him and pokes at him to get emotional reactions out of him because they like that about him?

If he wants to seek people who treat him with respect and reverence, he just has to step out into the city square - hell, he just has to travel out and random people he meets are likely to treat him with that sort of dazzled awe or reverence too (we literally see this happen several times in the course of the novel).

So yeah, I think joking not joking, YWS makes him angry and feel Emotions and he likes that, YWS is enrichment for him, YWS pushes his buttons and his boundaries but reframing that it's pushing him out of his comfort zone and like hardening him off to the elements and realities of the world like a gardener with plants out of the greenhouse. But also, YWS treats him like a person, like a man, and not like Shen-daozun, Shen-daozhang, Shen-zhangjiao. To Yan Wushi, Shen Qiao is Shen Qiao. (and he loves to tease the shit out of him hehe (￣▽￣) )

CONVERSELY! This also gives Shen Qiao a space to *be* Shen Qiao. With Yan Wushi, he does not have to be Shen-daozun, Shen-daozhang, Shen-zhangjiao. He does not have to always be magnanimous and generous and a bastion of righteousness. These are in his nature, yet, but it's not ALL of his nature - he is, after all, still a man, a human, with human emotions -- including the full breadth of human emotions. Yes Yan Wushi annoys him and he shows it, but it's specifically BECAUSE of that that they are closer than him and anyone else in the world. He can "be himself" around Yan Wushi, he can get worked up and be petty and be snippy, and it's fine and won't cause catastrophes or undesired splashdown sociopolitical effects.

But also, he (lets himself?) get worked up by Yan Wushi - they HAVE that level of intimate understanding with each other where they can be like this and not have feelings hurt in any irreparable way. This isn't something that SQ does (lets himself do?) with just anyone, which we see throughout the novel reflected in his internal narration and comportment. So really, the fact that he DOES get annoyed with YWS shows that they are on a different, more "real" level with each other than SQ is with anyone else.

And like, they didn't get there in a day, sure, but imo we definitely see through the novel how they get there, so imo, the yanshen relationship is incredibly justified.

(I also say this bc I think literally every "I've connected the two dots" moments I've had in my reread, I would metaphorically flip the page only to be met with that connection I'd made spelled out on the page by MXS lmao. Like... yeah okay MXS *shakes your hand* you know your stuff. oh and also because I do think there may be some level of skepticism about yanshen esp from SQ's side floating around lol, but like... MXS did the legwork! yes chapter 45 happened, yes YWS never "apologizes" with words, but that doesn't mean that they don't share a deep mutual understanding of themselves and each other by the end, nor that they haven't moved past the events of literally 83 chapters ago, 96 if you count the extras -- a whole literal two-thirds of the novel ago. Like, I know we piss on the poor here and many educational systems around the world are in shambles these days, but work on developing reading comprehension skills, pls :') )

I both do and don't worry tbh. I'm not like deeply upset or anything, but its definitely something Ive thought about. I think if you had asked me the same question about a year or two ago, I would have felt very strongly about it, but the truth is that I'm not as invested as I used to be

Now, that's not to say I don't care. This blog has been like. A formative experience for me honestly, and I always dreamed of having such a large and involved community. Ive never had something quite like this in all my time on the internet, and its something that I love just as much as I thought I would

As far as the manga (and soon to be anime I imagine) ending, I sincerely hope that bnha doesn't fall into the trap that so many fandoms nowadays do. Im sure everyone here has seen a thousand posts about it, so I'll keep it brief, but this whole culture of "Oh this thing is over. Looks like I can never engage with it again" is so sad to me. I get that things aren't as appealing when there's nothing new, but some of my favorite media (and favorite fandoms) are things that came out twenty, thirty, forty, hell even 200 years ago. Even if I were to leave the fandom and totally abandon this blog, I would hate to see yet another newer fandom fall into the "no one cares anymore" pit

Tldr; whatever happens happens but yeah! I do forsee it happening at some point (likewise, don't take this as me throwing in the towel! I'm still kicking here) but it would really bum me out. Its been a huge part of my life and would definitely be a sort of "end of an era" for me personally
