the original painting is by Alméry Lobel-Riche, but the colors/lighting idea came entirely from the lovely @/cuarto_sol on twt

There are three religions in Italy
One is the catholic church
The second is Ferrari
The third is whatever the fuck Valentino Rossi got going on
#if youre into motorsport in italy theres two routes you can go#ferrari or rossi#and even if you ever chose the none-biking route you'll still end up worshipping the ground that rossi walks on#you honestly dont even need to be italian for that one. just into motorsport#exception if youre spanish#you might think leclerc is a saint but rossi is worshipped like a god#valentino rossi#f1#motogp

Saint Rose Venerini 1656-1728 Feast Day: May 7 Canonized in 2006 by Pope Benedict XVI
Saint Rose Venerini was born in Viterbo, Italy. She discerned the contemplative religious life after her fiancé died. Yet her true vocation was teaching, which she realized under the guidance of her spiritual director. She believed that to educate would improve the lives of the poor and in spite of severe opposition, she opened a preschool for girls and founded a religious institute of women called the Venerini Sisters. By the time of her death, she oversaw the training of teachers and administration of over 40 schools throughout Italy.

...is Italian Jesus different to Regular Catholic Jesus?
Italian Jesus is who you pray to when you need Ferrari to win. regular Jesus is too busy for that
#for legal purposes this is a joke#I have no idea what this is about but I HAVE been known to say THANK YOU ITALIAN JESUS when I'm getting invested in sports or whatever#it's kind of. a joke about hyperlocalised catholicism that's doused in superstitions and patron saints folklore#ask#anonymous
