whenever i find a book on botanical or historical dyeing i haven't seen before i have to pick it up because there's always going to be at least some nugget of information in it that i haven't seen before i can't resist it. i've been reading 'in pursuit of color' by lauren macdonald and it has some of the best written explanations regarding the chemistry of dyes i've found so far, and the photos are gorgeous

#my all time favourite book on the history of dyes is this huge old out of print beast that was translated from italian decades ago #and is very hard to find (i got it for free bc someone irl was giving it away)#so im always looking for books on the subject that are easier to find and easier to read to recommended to people lol
