Okay first of all i remember a couple years ago when a twitter thread was going around about artists that made really fucked up paintings and were huge horror iconography and everyone was sharing their favorite horror artists like goya and when i was scrolling through replies someone linked (?) to a thread where someone painted these detailed pieces but there was always at least one person looking directly at the viewer. like the concept was so fucking scary to me that i forgot to bookmark/like the tweet and i lost that thread forever and i really want to know who the artist was

The thing that gets me about history and humanity is that you never know what is immortalized, and the things that will be immortalized are things you would never think.
I saw a person sharing a new tattoo, and it was one of Onfim's drawings. A boy who lived so long ago he is barely a blip now, but his drawings meant so much to people that somebody is now permanently marked in their skin with one of those drawings. Do you ever look at the things you make and just sit there and wonder if this is the thing that future people look at? Do you ever look at your art, your writing, your schoolwork, or anything that is yours and just wonder who will find it, who will fall in love with a piece of your humanity and become overwhelmed with emotion over? It's not unlikely. It's not totally unlikely that somebody will find a piece of you in the distant future and devoid of any other context of who you were will still love you because you were here. You were here, and you are still here, even hundreds or thousands of years later. Treat yourself with the same love that so many have for dear Onfim.

As a way to double down on my Make Amity Park More Bizarre agenda, I think there should be buildings that do not exist.
to elaborate: there's a library down the street. the bookcases reach to the towering ceiling. The basement might as well be a maze of archived newspaper and posters plastered over posters. It was built in 1963. The doors are larger than anything and everyone. It was never built.
FentonWorks has a basement that goes down impossibly far– how hasn't it hit the water pipes? The community college has balconies that were never made: you have to crawl out of a window to get to them. Restaurants that were demolished for office buildings exist simultaneously: you use the same door for both and the one you want to arrive in is the one that greets you on the other side. Some shortcuts through town don't make sense.
Amity Park is the most haunted city in the U.S. And so too is it haunted by what it was once, and what it never was.

RODBT therapist @ the group: Does anyone have any examples of situations that generated complex emotions?
Me: Well... recently, scintists identified the remains of James Fitzjames who died in the Franklin expedition for the Northwest Passage like 176 years ago... it made me feel a lot of things...

Throwback to January when horror and thriller writer Jed Shepherd pleaded for an Eerie Indiana reboot.
Ben David Grabinski (writer and producer of the Are You Afraid of the Dark? revival) simply commented that he did try for a reboot of the series, but what got our attention was Rebekah McKendry's comment.
By January 2023 AYAOTD had a revival three times over and the Goosebumps series was in the middle of filming.
If it wasn't Eerie Indiana, what other "similar toned 90s kid spooky show with a different network" could it have been?

This is 100% fic related but fuck it gotta throw it out to the world, here’s my headcanons on what I think the getters with personalities would be like: (note I’m counting the single units I. E. Every getter 1 is similar and not the individual forms, might change that at some point but we’d be here forever)
Getter 1: Actually not a hothead like most of its pilots, instead it’s a calm voice of reason, even if sometimes that calmness can be eerie. It stays collected to help its pilots rage but sometimes is influenced, whether that be getting too excited in a fight or just flat out arguing with them. It also is overall heroic which definitely comes from its pilot lol.
Getter 2: Very blunt and to the point. Is not fond of its pilot-*cough* mainly in the HAYATO case-but still tolerates them and provides advice/a strategy if needed. It’s kinda the grump of the group even if it doesn’t have a temper, it’s just nowhere near as calm and welcoming to its pilot as its counterparts.
Getter 3: The embodiment of 😋 Probably the closest in personality to its pilot and while Getter 1 cares, Getter 3 definitely loves its pilot when it gets the chance to be used. It’s very enthusiastic but doesn’t given its pilot any good pointers in a fight, mainly just rolls with whatever they wanna do. It seems less calm then the others but it truly is chill, in a more human way.
This is the idea I’m rolling with mainly for my getter/zx aus where the getters are teeny tiny pebbles but the more I thought about: honestly yeah if the getters could talk this logic could totally apply to canon lol.

Grandma update! My grandma likes to say I'm her mini me for various reasons, and today we found out we have the exact same but opposite name remembering issue with the same pair of names She keeps accidentally calling Zack, one of her great grandkids, Jake, and I spent like two years in high school fully convinced a guy named Jake's name was Zack

here i am still lonely with the souvenirs / i would kill for some company / temporarily / i did once have a lover, only kept his hands / they can dance and play the songs for me / play until i sleep
thought it'd be fun to do this template that's been going around for the haunting's spotify profile <3 the playlist is unfortunately still in the works bc i suck at making them but these are the vibes, they're a mostly an indie folk and pop, and sometimes art pop band, i took a lot of inspo from aurora. i'll put the album covers under the cut so you can appreciate them better <3 i edited a bunch of free-to-use pics and overlays to get what i wanted // @infamous-if

I'm a big fan of having the Fentons opening up a portal to hell in their basement having some consequences that aren't just the ghosts coming through to mess with Amity Park.
Amity Park has to be drenched in ectoplasm by now. And mysterious ghostly substances can and should cause some side effects for both the town and its inhabitants.
Meaning: Danny is split half and half, both and neither, but he's not the only one toeing the line between ghost and human. he's just the most concentrated version of it.
Valarie and Jazz are first. The former has a full suit of ghost technology embedded into her body and the latter grew up in a house where safety protocols were enough of a joke that pure ectoplasm was stored in the fridge right next to dinner and it contaminated everything. Tucker and Sam are next: they were there when the Portal Incident happened and even though they weren't in the portal, they must have absorbed some of the backlash from it ripping a hole in space to the Infinite Realms, and they were further exposed from helping Danny fight ghosts.
everyone in the town is a little contaminated at the least. everyone is also a little more focused and obsessive than the average person. everyone's got a hobby or a craft or a couple causes that call to them. this goes unnoticed. Amity Park is just a passionate place, you know? Amity Park has some quirks– and the ghosts are 83 of them– but this is their town and they're not leaving for anything. It's the way of things, it's placing a live frog in cold water and slowly cranking the heat up to boiling. No one sees what they're becoming because the changes are so slow and they're affecting all of them. There's no outsider looking in alert people to how different their bodies, their priorities, their community are in comparison. It's a small town far enough away from anything important to be beneath notice. It's isolated enough that when change comes, no one recognizes it at their doorstep. It's small and unimportant enough that their neighboring towns, their state, and the rest of the nation call the ghosts attacking their town a hoax: a way to draw tourists in. (the claim to ghosts do not draw tourists in. the only "tourists" that go to Amity are the ones that have a wild spark in their eye and not much to lose. they end up staying more often than not.)
time + isolation = a new culture, or at least room for cultural shifts. The word "wish" is treated as taboo as the most vulgar curses. The parks bear an unusual amount of fruit (and who even planted those fruit trees? what even is this fruit?) are wild enough to count as small forests. Crows talk and old ladies think it charming. There's always live music going on somewhere, played by band kids and musicians that are... particularly strange. Some pets die and come back for dinner. The library has never before been hosting so many events, for groups of knitters, artists, hobby biologists, and college students showing off the powerpoints they made for fun. Every month a guy who really likes birds shows off his rescued parrots to starry-eyed kids. Seasonal decorations get... intense.
It's the way Amity Park is. The way it's always been, right?
