Y’all I just noticed something- ever since I turned off anonymous asks, due to me getting harassed constantly by antisemitic asshats and pro-Palestine people/anti-zionists (because I’m a cold hearted bitch/moron/monster for caring for Israeli citizens who are also victims of the war/ caring for the return of the hostages/ calling out antisemitism/etc…) I haven’t gotten any more hateful or harassing asks… I wonder why??? Could it be that some of them are….cowards and likes to hide? I guess we’ll never know….(jk I already know the answer-i just wanted to add a dramatic flair to it lol)
Also do y’all (I’m talking to the pro Palestine and anti Zionist crowd) even care that Hamas is still holding over a hundred hostages??? And that Hamas are treating the hostages like they’re in some sick torture game??? It seems like whenever someone talks about the hostages/any news about them/testimonies from those who were returned/etc… y’all go bat shit crazy. Hell there’s this video going around where this group of people (pro Palestine/anti Zionist) were defacing a mural that says ‘free the hostages’ and ‘fuck Hamas’ (or something similar to it) because it somehow insulted them???
And stop denying that 10/7 happened. It’s not a fucking conspiracy theory! It was a messed up/horrible terrorist attack and a pogrom- a pogrom that Hamas has promised will happen again! To those who are still denying it/claiming that IDF did it/ or thinks that this attack was necessary- y’all are just fucking unbelievable and messed up…
At this point I’m convinced that y’all hate jews in general and that you are using the i/p war as an excuse to be hateful antisemitic little fuckers. I said what I said.
Am yisrael chai! ✡️

Everyone thinks they can write a romance novel. Scratch that. They think they can write a romance novel better than all the other romance novels. Because of course they can. Romance is trite. It’s trashy. It’s simple.
Everyone thinks they can write a romance novel until they actually sit down to write one.
Because the people who disparage the genre are too embarrassed to engage deeply with the ideas that build the work, to make any meaningful commentary on anything, to add to any on-going conversations. They’re hovering above it all, too precious to land. Instead of writing a romance novel, they’re writing a novel that insists they’re beyond all of this, that says romance is beneath them, it’s not worthy of them.
So they end up with a parody of what they think romance is. I.e. they have written a bad romance novel.
I think it’s true that anyone can write romance. Anyone can do any of the cringey, heart-on-your-sleeve art. In fact, the hardest part is beginning.
Step one: You have to love the thing you’re making.

something happening in my brain that makes me exclusively refer to osiris the sky dragon as “slifer”:

you claim to be a Jew but you support Palestinian genocide. The most important thing in our religion is human life. Above everything else. That’s why we still dove to the hospital on Shabbat, sure it would be nice to have an only Jewish land but at the cost of millions of innocent Palestinians? Do not do this in the name of our god
Being Jewish is not conditional on whether you see me as a “good Jew” or not. I’m Jewish because my mother is Jewish. And my mother’s parents are both Jewish. And their parents are Jewish. All the way back, to the earliest traces of my family - we are Jews.
The earliest traces of my family being in the land of Israel.
It’s in my DNA, my culture, and my religion. Israel is my life and my homeland.
I do not wish for a genocide or ethnic cleansing of Palestine. I do, however, believe in protecting my people. I am fine with a two-state solution. Clearly, they are not. And if it comes down to it, I will always choose my people’s lives, safety, and homeland over the Palestinians.
I will never side with people who sided with Hitler. I will never mourn Nazis. I will never condone terrorism against my people. And if the last couple weeks taught me anything, it’s that the “pro-Palestine” crowd clearly supports all of these things.

Daily reminder you can be pro palestinian without supporting Hamas, a terror organization that slaugthers, burns and rapes innocent people, kidnappes women and children and elderly people and tortures them after it murdered their family members. the same Hamas who declared more than once about its goal of killing jews. it will require somewhat of a complex thinking but not that much. you can do it. the other option is being a full on nazi supporter.

Ok, but listen (and welcome back to another crazy analysis that I came up with out of nowhere because I had a lot of free time)
The Ishtar as representations of the Egyptian gods.
Tumblr media
Bastet's mission was to protect the home and symbolizes the joy of living, as she is considered the deity of harmony and happiness. She is the personification of the warm rays of the Sun, she is the representation of femininity and elegance.
Marik was supposed to be the leader of the clan and protect it, but he wanted to be happy and be out of the tombs, he wanted to live, he wanted to be under the sun's rays, plus his hair is blonde, a color associated with the sun, He is handsome, he is masculine and elegant.
Plus his eyes look like cats' eyes if you ask me, with his outlined like the stripes of tabby cats.
But he was traumatized and filled with anger and wanted revenge, so he created Yami Marik.
Tumblr media
She was a symbol of strength and power. She was considered the goddess of war and revenge, but also the goddess of healing, she was the protector of the pharaohs and guided them in war.
In some cases she was considered an ally and protector of Ra, since she killed those who dared to confront or attack the divine or earthly monarchy.
She had an insatiable bloodlust, to such a degree that she did not distinguish between allies or enemies.
Like YamiMa, he is powerful, the representation of Marik's fight and revenge, he protected Marik from everything that could harm him to keep him safe, he caused death/coma to those who stood in the way of Marik's wishes (Jounouichi , Mai, Rishid, his father).
Plus we've all seen the thousands of references to YamiMa's hair to a lion's mane and both YamiMa and Sekhmet have many names.
And YamiMa only calmed down when he saw Rishid.
Tumblr media
She represented music, dance, joy, love, sexuality and maternal care, and acted as consort to various male deities and mother to their children. These two aspects of the goddess exemplified the Egyptian conception of femininity. She served as a wet nurse for the king and his court, and in this way she fed all the people of Egypt since the prosperity of the country was closely linked to the health, well-being and stability of the king.
She was part of the divine entourage that accompanied Ra as he sailed through the sky in his boat.
Rishid was a fundamental part of Marik's upbringing, he was like a father to him, replacing the biological father as a wet nurse, he wanted Marik's happiness, he loved him like a brother and took care of him like a father, he took the punishment when Marik and Ishizu came out of the tombs, and he wanted to take Marik's place in the ritual to avoid the pain and trauma it would cause him.
He was also part of the Ghouls to continue with Marik, after leaving the tombs, we can assume that he was the one who was in charge of maintaining his mental and physical health.
But his role as a father was also slightly overshadowed by Ishizu.
Tumblr media
She is typically depicted as the generous and selfless mother, wife, and protector who puts the interests and well-being of others before her own. She was considered the divine mother of the pharaoh, who was identified with the god Horus. She as well as the most powerful sorceress Egypt ever saw. With this power she managed to save her son Horus, but she also became the patron goddess of people who practiced magic.
Ishizu is the selfless mother who fulfills the role assigned to her, fulfilling her duty to the pharaoh was important and almost a priority, however when it came to her brothers, mainly Marik, she did not mind leaving her duty relegated in favor of hera brother's well-being.
Just like Isis, she sought help from humanity (Yugi and company) to unite the pieces of her brother and return him to normal.
She is feminine, selfless, protective, maternal, she took care of Marik when they were children, stopping living her own childhood so that Marik could be happy, she helped him see what it was like outside the tombs because that is what he wanted to do.
Furthermore it is quite clear that she is Isis when we remember that her past life in ancient Egypt was called that.

Ra: Let the trial of Horus and Set begin.
Ra: Set, you are accused of high treason. If found guilty…
Set: I object!
Ra: On what grounds?
Set: I couldn’t think of anything else to say.
Ra: Objection sustained.
Isis: Your Excellency, you sustained the objection?!
Ra: I couldn’t think of anything else to say either.

💀 and 🏳️‍🌈 for the ask game (evil laugh)
ooof you really spared no mercy
okay, since you didn’t specify a fandom I will take it into my own hands. be warned.
💀 - If you had to choose one major character to die, who would you choose?
from keeper of the lost cities: this might legitimately get me hatemail, but if I had to choose a character to die, I think dex would be an interesting choice. I could see a lot happening from that, hmm how should I term this, event that would really change things up and make it interesting. for example, would one of the triplets take his place? so many interesting outcomes
🏳️‍🌈 - Which character who is commonly headcanoned as queer doesn't seem queer to you?
from brotherband: wow, it’s actually really hard to think of a character that I don’t think has even a little queer flavor. uhhh since I have to put someone, maybe rolland? idk if he’s popularly headcanoned as queer (I really need to get more involved with the brotherband fandom) but he kinda just seems like a big himbo to me. just a cishetallo who’s happy to be here, yknow?

It's so disgusting that some Swifties have been deadly silent about the ongoing genocide and they immediately talk about how people shouldn't be scared for their lives and the importance of safety when something touches them like are you ok?

I'm still pretty sick with the flu and I'm still figuring out how to move past being frozen with hyperempathy so I'll try to be brief with this. But I want to touch on a thing I've been thinking about pretty much this entire past year.
In the last decade, or my whole upbringing and childhood as well to be honest, I saw a horrific amount of dehumanisation of Arab culture, language and idenity. All of it was associated with the Taliban, ISIS, war and terrorism to the point most young people would assume that and be suspicious when they'd see a mosque, hijab, brown skin, arabic written somewhere or any display of Arab culture. Like, no, the west has always been violently racist and you all aren't immune to that upbringing of assuming anything written in arabic to be ISIS propaganda, anything to do with Muslim holidays being seen as oppressive and bad or homophobic; a reason for suspicion. We've all been brought up with that shit.
I now want us to think about that upbringing with Jews today and how the antisemetism ingrained in the west actually defines Israel in ways much like how Islamophobia defines the Taliban or ISIS. We KNOW they aren't the same as being Muslim or being Jewish, but that doesn't stop us making associations and assumptions. It doesn't suddenly make demonizing Jews in the same way Arabs have been dehumanised okay. Both are people that deserve love, respect and protection from hate. Political Zionism, Mossad and Modern Israel are western inventions that aren't Jewish at all, just as much as ISIS and the Taliban are western inventions that aren't Arab or Muslim. They were created by western powers for western interests (and hell, even if they weren't that wouldn't justify shit) and should never be used as a reason to automatically suspect our Muslim, Jewish and Arab siblings. These are groups that's exist irrespective of this and require our respect all the same.
I'm staunchly antifascist, pro/ part of the Intifada and for a one state solution with a free Palestine that includes all and respects all equally. Doing that means, fundamentally, that we can't use the weapons and tactics of the western colonial entities; of hate, of demonising an entire culture, language and people. We have to be better.
Just as we have to be against the Bush administration's dehumanisation of Arabs and Muslims, and their targetting of the entire race, various cultures, religion and language, we have to actually put in work to not let ourselves be taken in by western antisemetism that is deeply ingrained within our society as well. There are many stigmas in western society around Jews, and we cannot let it be suddenly exempt from scrutiny because we decide one is okay while the other is not. Both are equally bad, if not good indicators that these same people likely have anti Arab and anti Muslim beliefs internalised as well. They often go hand on hand from what I've seen of liberal racists who have said "I'm not racist" then proceeded to say they think Muslims are all homophobic and that all religions are bad because "Muslims created ISIS" without realising the horrific racism in that. It's these same people who often say "all Jews are responsible and must stand up against Israel or they're actually Zionists". It's the same logic and it always comes back to a general internalisation of racism. That is something we, as leftists, must fight against.
Like, the same people who now say "I have to check and make sure the Jews I know aren't Zionists" are also the same people who have said "I think Arab Americans deserve to see Gaza get flattened because they didn't vote blue". Like it's the same old racist shit and the same post Bush suspicion based on "all Muslims and Arabs are ISIS right?" It's the same shit, like modern Israel, ISIS, (and I'd also include Iran, Egypt, Afghanistan, etc.) and the Taliban are all entities created/ taken control of by the west and then used by the west to expand their own access to resources. It's the US just expanded so if anything y'all should be way more inherently suspicious of white Americans being the CIA in disguise than Jews all being Mossad and Muslims all being ISIS members. Like they are different things, Zionists aren't Jews and vice versa. Basically, just don't assume shit and listen to antizionist Jews when they call you out on antisemetism. The west has deeply ingrained anrisemetic roots and you all still have to unlearn that shit if you really want a free Palestine and a successful Intifada (both in Palestine and, I hope, for successful land back movements in other western colonised nations).
If you see a Jew celebrating their holidays without mentioning Palestine or condemning Israel? Shut up and let them celebrate. If you see a Muslim celebrating their holidays without condemning ISIS or Afghanistan and Iran's treatment of women? Shut up and let them celebrate. Entire groups of people shouldn't be expected to be held to account and put in all the work of unraveling western colonialism, all because you're already suspicious of anyone who isn't white, atheist or just live differently to you. Respect people and their culture, unlearn western racist imperialist propaganda.
Unlearn that shit and learn to unite under one banner of antifascist resistance that sees all as equal.
#antisemitism#Islamophobia#Jews#Muslims#Arabs#antifascist#anti zionisim#antizionist#anti facist#leftism#liberals#leftist antisemitism#leftist Islamophobia#<- while these tags are important and useful I don't really agree that these two groups should be included as “leftists” since they're not.#As in I think racism is antithetical to leftism and these are typically people who call themselves left while saying liberal/ moderate bs#they'll be like “I vote green in my local elections so I can't be racist but I think Muslims shouldn't exist because they scare me” like ???#Literally heard this from so-called leftists before y'all just pretend you didn't pre october last year because it makes your -#- liberalism look bad and highlight how you're just here for praise#Literally the same people who are like “um I hope gaza gets flattened now because Arabs didn't vote blue” are these people and they're just-#- overall racist homophobic and generally shit people who don't give a shit about leftism#they just use left instead of liberal bc it's more popular and makes them look less like republicans on disguise#*in#like Mossad and Israel are still trash as much as the Taliban and ISIS are bc they're all offshoots of USA and British colonialism#All the above were created by the west and then managed by the west not entire cultures that are used as essentially a sheet to cover that#liberal antisemetism#liberal Islamophobia#zionists dni#zios dni#I'll go into the zionism vs hope for return concept another day but yeah be nice y'all

DRAGONSONG: draft 2 update: 20/06
previous word count: 86,982
current word count: 88,391 (1409 added)
notes: i've been trying to flesh out Isi and Sierra's parents a tiny bit, and now i'm having feelings about Isi's father. so you can have some snippets about him.
snippet 1: (tw controlling partner, alluded-to)
On the other hand, with the exception of Sierra, she had not spoken to her family in four years. Perhaps she could write to them… but what could she say? In all that time, she had had nothing to write to them. Why now? She remembered her father as a quiet man, ruled by his wife for the most part, but he had smiled when Isi had first said she wanted to be a knight. Her mother had tried to guilt her into staying home; at the time, she had not realised, but with the benefit of hindsight she could see it. Her father had been silent for a few minutes, while her mother had talked about leaving the Coast Folk with one fewer hand during fishing seasons, and about how it would crush her to have her daughter leave. And then he had said, I think you can do good there, too. Even now, remembering it fifteen years later, it made Isi’s chest swell with hope. Her mother had totally ignored his words, but Isi had never forgotten them. If she and her friends failed to defend Winter’s Hold, this might be her last chance to write home. She had nothing to say to her mother… but she hoped her father would be proud of her now. She pulled the sheet towards her and began to write.
snippet 2, featuring magical bird delivery:
Isi extracted the letter for her father from the bottom of the stack and passed it to Robin. He rolled it up and attached it to the bird’s leg, then held out his hand to her. Isi took it and closed her eyes, picturing her father: his skin tanned from long years of working on the cliffside, spattered with pale patches the way her own was; keen dark eyes, crinkling at the edges when he smiled at her; the gravity in his face when he had encouraged her to leave home. She had not ended her letter with goodbye, but signing her name had felt like one nonetheless. With a sudden pang like something had grabbed her heart and squeezed, she imagined him waiting for another letter that would never come. It was too late. The bird’s wings swished through the air beside her head, and the pressure in her head eased once more.
