The howls of the wolves always seem to get closer to the house as the full moon approaches, then further again after.

The seals watch you, seeming to follow you as you walk down the beach. Later you meet a girl. She and the seals have the same eyes.

You hear scratching at the window. In the morning, you look outside. The tree at the window has grown more limbs.

The bonfire is bright tonight. It's best not to acknowledge it unless you're invited or previously have been.

The moss in the woods seems to grab at your shoes. You swear you saw a patch of moss that looked like a human outline earlier.

The drive to Powell River isn't that long, is it? Have you been driving in circles? You should have gotten there at 12 pm, but it's 8 pm now.

You find the old guy who hangs out in the bakery chanting in the woods. It's just another Tuesday.

The cold seeps into your skin and gnaws on your bones.

The fog swallows everything. You better get inside before it takes you with it.

You find moon phase calendars in your grandparents' attic. They date all the way back to when they were first married. Your grandfather died on the night of a full moon.

(These are all the entries in an ever growing Google doc right now. Some are better than others, but I hope this gives you somewhat of an idea of the setting and some plot points mayhaps)

I havent done such a thing in sooo long it was so fun to draw something huge and crazy for once and do a nice thing with a bunch of cool people… these characters are so special to me… thus ive trapped them in the SHOUJO PERIOD DRAMA DIMENSION. Living in a crucial swing state is a fucking mess in the lead up to an election like i'm getting seven million texts a day, gotten FULLY stopped in traffic on three separate occasions this week because candidates are visiting (police cars everywhere, highways closed, etc), and you genuinely will need a snowplow to clear all the campaign signs once this thing is over plus I had to wait three hours in line to early vote last week BUT I DID IT

writing about car travel set in the uk is so strange. I'll be thinking okay, the distance between these two places is far and they're traveling by car. A long car ride for me would be at least three hours, but upwards of five before I'd add the word 'really' in front of long, right?

But in the UK people don't go on car rides for four or five hours, they wouldn't just do that. They would take a train or a plane, yeah? That's like a whole day of travel, and that's not what I'm intending it to be.

So then I'm like, alright, it's two hours. But is that still to much? I'll just say almost two hours so that some people can pretend that it's an hour and a half or traffic or whatever.
