Congratulations My Hero Academia for providing, possibly, the biggest and longest legit straightbaiting yet in shonen history.

Bonus points that their final chapter was released on yaoi day.

#first of all absolutely no hate to izuocha #i actually really like them together romantically or not. i love their dynamic so much #but you must know just how hilarious and absurd it is #that this series started with them crushing on each other #and then ochako's attraction to deku became an important part of her character #BUT they completely turn it around and made it about #deku's meaning as a hero and being saved #and ochakos expression of love and understanding others #like. that is legit very compelling and a beautiful relationship #but they did not become A Couple. at least- nothing confirms nor denies it #just like how a queerbait relationship would be #absolutely hilarious. i honestly love how it ended like this #doesnt mean i love the ending tho. oh boy its weird and legit bad in many areas #But this? In 2011 I drastically reduced my DWJ book intake to dripfeed levels, so it was only in the 2024 new year that I finally decided to read Deep Secret. My god - out of all her books this seems targeted at me personally? Stressed late-20-somethings, making fools of oneself in vicinity of fav authors, artist alleys?? Also, blatant unmistakable LGBT-rep??? I can't believe I slept on this one for so long!!! Definitely putting it on the upper tiers of my DWJ bookshelf.

Anyway, here's some designs I've whipped up for the characters! As always, might tweak 'em if ever I draw more in the future, but that's what's fun about figuring out character designs. Rob in particular is a joy to me.

Seeing Tan Wind Waker Link in that fancomic brought me to a realization.... all the Links would be tan. They spend a lot of time travelling Hyrule in all sorts of whether but it is usually fairly sunny. The one exception I can think of might be Twilight Link but still.

But the tannest would definitely be Wind Waker Link and Skyward Sword Link. Because Wind Waker Link lives on a sunny little island for all his life and then he sails around the sea on a boat that has absolutely no shade, save for the sail. Which would mean for shade, the direction he's going, the wind, and the sun would all have to co-operate.

As for Skyward Sword Link... he literally lives above the clouds. It's gonna be sunny pretty much all day every day there.

I've seen some really REALLY cool black sky designs that are honestly so peak and would also make sense, with skyloft being in the clouds with the sun right on them, skyloftians having darker skin is just *chef's kiss* peak character design

I also love the tan wind agenda cause it makes sense for him! And I've also seen great black wind designs too that are literally so good, I love those too

I personally like to stay as close to the OG designs as possible if the characters aren't mine so I try to stay as close to jojo's designs for this au, but I love it when people play with the links designs, makes it all so fun 🥹💖

#the one thing i like to add is wars' beauty mark cause like he legit needs it lmao #but i do love it when people add their own lil things to the chain its so peak #miry's ask box

Finally watched Blue Eye Samurai and damn, this show really is everything everyone's been saying. But also man, it's really making me think how much I wish non-animated shows focused on visuals. With everything being nearly-fully CGI, why do movies and shows have to look so... boring? If a friend group with a 90s camcorder can do it, why can't Disney (check out GGLS btw)? Idk, just frustrates me. Anyway, here's this show being eye candy.
