i'm not a big fan of removing powers/attributes from canon to go with regular ol' humans, humans, and more humans au's. i'm just not. might be that i'm not a fan of humans as a species in general but the overhumanification of every damn character can tend to bug me

if we knew any aliens/alternate species/evolved homo races in real life? it'd be considered race/species swapping no question, which can also be done fine and i don't mind artists exploring, but still just not a big fan of it from a personal perspective

i can read them fine and even love an au when well done~<3! but if i'm writin' a humans au, you can bet your ass i'ma give them powers at some point (i probably won't do it for legit aliens like kal-el ever tho)<3<3<3

my cousin was flicking a lighter and said "wait is that triggering for you 🥺" because i quit smoking last year and i had to explain that in my experience the way nicotine addiction works i can literally smoke a cigarette and not be triggered because it was so deeply a physical addiction and not at all a "psychological" addiction which is so weird because when you're actively addicted it's like "man i just really love smoking cigarettes so much i don't ever want to stop and this is yet another hurdle in my quitting journey" but that's not even true. you stick a nicotine patch on your arm and that "psychological addiction" slips away instantly. it's the first thing to go. shit's crazy.

#everytime i smoke #and it's been like 5 times in the past year and a half #it is so nasty #the last two times i've literally taken a shower immediately after #the physical motions are familiar and i do enjoy that #and i enjoy the mental exercise of once again examining my relationship to smoking and comparing it to before #because it's very interesting that you can smoke for a decade but if you stop then four months later you will die choking on the first puff #but NEVER have i worried i might relapse #i don't think i can physically mentally or financially #i would need funding #i would need encouragement #and sound logic behind the project #it's just not gonna happen #adam yaps
