Bright Future Ahead - JJ Maybank X Reader
Tumblr media
Based on THIS request.
Summary: Reader tells JJ they are pregnant.
A/N Did not proofread, wrote this at the gym lol
“C’mon baby girl,” JJ says, the little girls footsteps thud on the floor as she toddler-waddles over to JJ, whose across the hall.
John B and Sarah had a few errands to run, so you and JJ had offered to watch over their sweet daughter Ella Rouledge while they did so. She was so sweet, an Angel with little curls and eyes like her fathers. She was bold and adventurous, taking after both of her parents in that regard. One thing she particularly liked was playing dress up with JJ. Her god father was her idol, she wanted to be just like him, even mimicking his mannerisms from a young age, it was so heart warming to see. You couldn’t wait to have your own child.
Over the last 5 years, the Pogues had given up on treasure hunting, and everyone was settled into a comfortable and safe life. You and JJ had been through everything together, and you loved him more than anyone could imagine and in return you were his whole world. You had gotten engaged shortly after Morocco, JJ had said he didn’t want to waste anymore time because he knew you were the one, and in case they were swept on another crazy adventure he wanted you to be his, officially. You’d taken his last name and had a backyard ceremony with the group with string lights and beer, and a pastor certificate pope and Cleo found online it was in fact legally binding. Since then, JJ had put a lot of his energy into his business, JJ Maybanks deep sea charters, a huge success, now with a second location opening on the other side of the island. Everyone was making enough money to live comfortably, however in Pogue fashion they certainly did not live like kooks. John B and Sarah were fully invested in their family, Cleo and Pope were doing well too, as pope was finishing his degree. All was well for those 5 years, the good and the bad. You were thankful that JJ stuck with you through it all. He had grown into himself, and matured a lot after the incident with his father. He had healed significantly. You were thankful to have seen it all. Reminiscing on the past had only further directed your mind to your future ahead of you…
“Can I brush your hair?” The little girl squeals excitedly, her mother had her hair in braids with bows and they wiggled as she moved excitedly across the playroom. “Sure kiddo, anything.” JJ chuckled and sat down on the floor while the girl brought out her play makeup and hair accessories. You approached the room, and stood in the doorway. “Whose hungry for lunch?” You say with a smile. “Me me!!!” The girl yells excitedly. “Me too,” JJ chuckles. “Well, I’m thinking tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches?” You offered. “Sounds delicious!” JJ exclaimed, looking at himself in the fake mirror.
“Are you sure about this one?” He asks, playing along with the girls banter. She was desolately trying to reach JJs head while he sat on the floor and was brushing what she could reach while comparing the butterfly hair clips with his complexion. “This one,” she says insistently, settling on a blue clip, JJ had to clip it to his own hair because she struggled to do so by herself, her tiny hands weren’t quite strong enough. “Wow! This one really brings out my eyes, huh Y/N?” He turned to you who was admiringly watching playtime unfold from the doorway still. “You look so fabulous.” You reply still holding a slight smile. You would have gladly played with the girl if she wanted, but there was something about JJ that she just loved and you couldn’t blame her. She had said he has better hair the last time they played princess together, and that it was more fun to play with than your hair, you weren’t particularly offended by this though. “I’ll get lunch started, you say, disappearing into the kitchen. You didn’t want to leave, lingering for a few moments watching Ella begin to paint JJ’s nails a glittery purple color. He was no match for her.
As you prepared lunch for the three of you, you could hear the girl’s innocent laughter and JJs colliding. She was delighted her uncle JJ was playing with her. It warmed your heart to imagine how sweet and tender and caring he would be when the two of you decided to start a family. It made you flush, and you felt fuzzy and warm as if you had only just fallen in love with him, instead your were falling deeper in love with JJ.
The thing was, you had just found out you were pregnant. The morning prior, you had taken a test after not feeling too great for a few days and as if shocked, you gasped when you found out. It wasn’t that you weren’t ready for this step in your future, it was that you were slightly sad to mourn the loss of the things you were able to do with JJ alone, like showering together and having sex on the couch in the middle of the day. Sure, they were great, but that sadness and slight doubt was replaced when you saw how amazing he was with Ella, he was attentive and caring, gentle and soft. He showed his gentle side only with her, and sometimes you wanted to squeal in excitement because of how cute it was.
Pretty soon, there would be a little JJ running around causing trouble, and you couldn’t be happier to think of it. Now, you just had to tell JJ himself. You’d taken 4 boxes worth of tests to be sure, and Sarah had helped book an appintment for you later that week with the doctor that helped her through her pregnancy, you had told kie as well and she immediately bought you a pack of prenatal vitamins and healthy snacks. Something she said was absolutely vital. She even offered to show you some pregnancy yoga stretches she taught other women. Everyone was excited for you, even John B, who Sarah had told by accident. You were slightly worried you wouldn’t find the right moment to tell JJ, not that he would react badly, just that it was such a big moment for the two of you.
You were lost in your own world while you prepared the soup and made the sandwiches in the routledge kitchen, you hadn’t noticed how quiet things had gotten. It had only been a little less than an hour, so curiosity got the better of you and you wandered back into the playroom. JJ shushed you before you could say anything and your eyes met his. Ella was sleeping peacefully cuddled up my JJ’s side, she must have wanted him to read a story and had fallen asleep. The poor girl must have been exhausted from playing. JJ looked at you with a soft smile, 2 pink butterfly clips were in his hair, and he looked a bit goofy but he was still your JJ.
You smiled softly at him, “Let me,” you mouthed to him, reaching for Ella and gently picking her up in your arms to tuck her into bed. JJ pulled a soft blanket over her as she lay peacefully sleeping. You turned for the door, while JJ leaned down and kissed her forehead. “Sleep tight cupcake.” He said softly, before joining you. You gently shut the door behind you and lead JJ to the kitchen.
“Gosh she is somethin’ else.” JJ says with a slight laugh, taking the clips out of his hair. “I love the nail color on you, very complimentary.” You joke. You proceeded to the kitchen, where you both enjoyed the lunch you had made in comfortable silence. JJ knew something was up since you were acting oddly in that moment. After eating, you sighed and went to clean to rinse the dishes, putting them into the dish washer.
“Hey,” you said finally. “Can we talk?” You ask, JJ smiles gently “of course.” He says. “What’about?” He asks you. “Well.” You begin, he can tell you’re upset, nervous at least. He takes your hands in his gently holding them in a comforting way he waits patiently for you to let it out, and when you are ready after a moment you do. “Seeing you and Ella makes my heart melt, you are so sweet with her and it just,” you stutter, stopping yourself. “It makes me realize how much of an amazing father you’ll be.” You look up at the ocean eyes of his, “I can’t wait to start a family with you.” He admits softly. “And you know I’m ready whenever you are.” He explains. He had said before he was patiently waiting for you to be ready, and he would support you however you needed. “Jayj,” you say gently. “I’m uh,” you sigh softly. “I’m pregnant.”
Silence, JJs expression that was soft turns into an elated smile. “Really, baby?” He asks in disbelief. “Yes.” You confirm. “Like 6 tests.” He embraces you tightly for a quick moment. “Oh my god,” he says through a smile and a joyous laugh. “We’re havin’ a baby!” He exclaims. “Woo!” He says loudly, with a fist up in victory. you shush hun reminding him of Ella sleeping a few doors down. JJ gets kinda serious for a few minutes, and leans down so he his face to face with your stomach, “hear that baby Maybank?” He says, “your mama and I are gonna spoil you rotten. I’ll give you everything I always wanted as a kid. We’re gonna love you so much,” JJ says, his voice cracks as he’s gotten emotional, teary eyed. “I love you so much.” He says, to both you and your baby. He embraces you with his head rested on your stomach.
You enjoy his touch and run your fingers through his hair for a few moments, he finally stands up fully again and wipes the tears from his eyes and kisses you deeply, you are so swept up in his embrace you don’t hear Sarah and John B coming back home with a few groceries. JJ pulls back immediately and goes over to John B, “we’re having a baby!” He exclaims. John B shares his excitement and they embrace. “Congratulations, man.” He pats JJ on the back. Sarah is excited too and smiled at you, scurrying to put the handful of groceries away. “Well I didn’t know you were going to tell him now.” She says with a sigh, reaching under the sink and pulling out a very expensive and fancy bottle of sparkling cider. “But we got this as a gift to celebrate!” She exclaims popping the bottle open with a satisfying fizz of bubbles and a pop.
The rest of the evening is spent in a happy daze, a night you’ll remember for the rest of your life. Kie had come over and hugged both of you very happily, and Pope and Cleo shortly after. The evening was spent in celebration, sharing happy memories and drinks. Nob alcoholic ones for you of course. Deep down you knew you were right where you needed to be and you couldn’t think of a better man to have as your baby’s father than JJ Maybank.

saw the notifs that you posted and came running.. IM SO EXCITED FOR THE NEW CYOA LETS GOODJJRF Primal Moon was so good too!! rlly enjoyed the way Wu kong had that sort of forcefulness to him,, much love and i cant wait to see your next post!!❤️❤️❤️
Ahhh thank you so much! I hope everyone will like the CYOA- I’ve been plotting things out for a while now, and I’m super excited for it too!
And I’ve been working on Primal Moon for a long time now, so I’m really, really happy to finally get a fic of it out!
Wukong is one of the more demanding, pushy demons during the verdant lunar cycle. He’s been alone in the wilderness with his monkeys for a long time- he’s super excited to have a troop! Wukong wants to cuddle! He wants to groom! He wants to share his food! He wants group naps and shared nests!
It just so happens that this swell of love-seeking behavior comes with a severe loss of inhibitions that he’s never taught himself not to indulge in. And although he’s pretty reasonable in spite of all this… he’s still willing to severely crack down on any intentional disobedience within his ‘troop’.
Macaque is a loner, and he gets along just fine by himself- so the instincts that get brought to the fore are much less severe than Wukong’s. But he still has them, no matter how much he’d like to pretend otherwise. There’s a lot of embarrassment involved in these weeks for him, accepting and giving affection without even realizing it. One moment Macaque is trying to distract himself by reading, the very next he’s snuggled up to you/Wukong/MK, whining for scritches and pats. By the time the time he’s realized what’s happened, he’s already purring on his back, his tail sweeping back and forth in glee.
Poor, poor MK. This kiddo is going to despise himself when all is said and done. After a lifetime spent unaware of his true nature, the first Primal Moon he endures absolutely destroys him.
Usually people have a lot of time spent preparing for this event- even babies and toddlers are affected by the moon, so people can grow accustomed early. As you grow older and stronger you can resist the animalistic urges that rise inside, and some demons/celestials can even suppress their instincts almost entirely- with training and practice.
And guess who hasn’t had so much as even a day to prepare?
So MK goes from gold-hearted goofball to a damn near abuser, beating and pushing and throwing you around because his mind and body are genuinely brand new to this- he doesn’t know what else to do! He doesn’t have the years of acclimation that his friend and family have, the coping mechanism that they’ve learned to employ. And at the end of the week, the viridescence in the skies dies away entirely, leaving him free to see the entirety of what he’s done to you.
And he’s going to hate himself for it.
———————————————————————
Also I had to do a lot of research on animal behaviors for this AU- fun, because it’s my special interest- not fun, because animals are incredibly awful little things who sometimes engage in awful behaviors!
Like, male pigs engage in so much baby-killing. Just so very much. Very little in the way of parental/familial instincts. And unless I base him around an octopus, what am I going to do for Sandy? He’s a river demon- what instincts does fish even have?

I know you mostly post about fnv but I'm curious to know whats your opinion on the other fallouts?
fallout - really Really REALLY good. unforgiving, yes, takes some time getting used to. not without its flaws of course. for example i couldnt for the life of me figure out some very basic shit at first because the UI was designed by rodents i think. very Very engaging once you get past all of that. phenomenal first entry in the series. music, plot, worldbuilding, themes, major characters, mwah. mwah. They Dont Make Em Like That Anymore and there are many good reasons for it but time passed doesnt disappear so you can always play classic fallout.
fallout 2 - thing get weird. some of the highest highs, some of the lowest lows. the highs are really high though. unfortunately has a particular kind of needless edginess to it that gets extremely tiresome. "heeheehhee SECKS *begins to warp violently* heeiiuhehyehye" type. bizarrely racist and misogynistic at many points. contains some of the best voice acting moments in video game history. at many points its just very very tedious, like if with fo1 at some points i was like Well this is kinda rough, with fo2 there were stretches of the game where i was like What the hell am i even doing here Who are these people what is this crap. the enclave as this games evil fucked up faction is so great i love how theyre gradually introduced and then shit hits the fan. has a lot of texture to its worldbuilding and some really good fun moments but again it goes off the rails so much. i rly need to replay it but every time im like God do i really have time for this. i love that you drive a car
fallout 3 - weird fucking game. some truly unjustifiable design and worldbuilding decisions despite having also introduced a lot of rly good things. fun gameplay i mean its that classic falloublivionrim buggy grimy versatile ps3 pure brick ass gravel gamebryo bethesda. VERY funny to have so much of the games plot be like I Gotta Find My Dad like girl i dont care about my dad he can go die. oh wait he does. it has what i call The Martin Septim Problem and i think its kind of self explanatory. fawkes best boy hes my little birthday boy. fun to explore and do your own thing and discover whatevers going on out there. i HATE the brotherhood of steel in fallout the third. i HATE the enclave in fallout the third but i dont think it even comes close to how much i hate the brotherhood of steel in this game and what precedent it set for the rest of bethesda fallout. these creeps. im supposed to find any of this awesome? fuck no. oh also im ENDLESSLY amused by the prologue its like a nightmare sequence akskfnckxjnc. im being BORN?? ive just slid out of my mothers WOMB and CERVIX and VAGINA and theyre bringing up a screen to show her what an ugly monstrosity im gonna be when i grow up and shes like Waoww and she dies??? im a TODDLER? Release Me. Unhand Me You Fool. oh also that sequence where youre in a CRAZY SCIENTISTS SIMULATION is so stupid i love it
fallout 4 - havent played it for longer than 15 minutes (made me barfy). everything i learn about it is bizarre. like WHAT the fuck happens in that game. your old wrinkly son tells you youre stupid and dont need to know anything hes doing and then is like im dying can you take over for me??? also the intro is truly something i mean i dont mind having Some backstory to my character but youre saying i had to be straight married with a baby and living in a nice suburb, with a robot house servant? fuck no
everything else i havent played and have no real Thoughts about

I am once again in your ask box to send a request because I the way you write out your headcanons is just for some reason pleasing to me and I have yet to find more good agere accounts that I can request headcanons at (this is the anon who really likes Fyodor and Shirase... I think if I send more requests after this I'll just sign off with - Fyodor Enjoyer since that's easier then saying this)!!
This time I am requesting more thoughts on caregiver Rui because wow I am also a prsk fan and very abnormal about Rui (I'm also not normal about Haruka but this isn't about her)
Hehe I’m glad to hear from you as always Fyodor Enjoyer! It makes me so incredibly happy to hear that my account has reached the target audience of people in both the PJSK and the BSD communities as that was my goal with this account. I’m so glad I’ve managed to do that! And the fact that you enjoy my writing enough to request 3 separate times? :0 I feel absolutely blessed!
Caregiver Rui headcanons
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
⭑ Rui would be the most creative caregiver ever! He’s so good at making things, of course he’ll come up with and make things for his little one! He always makes things fun, whether his little one is a toddler brimming with energy, or just a baby who doesn’t feel like they can do anything. He’ll find fun stuff for them no matter what!
⭑ Rui would be the best at coming up with games! He’ll come up with well thought through, yet still simple plots for playing pretend! Always has plot twists at the ready to keep the story engaging. He’ll have like- A billion versions of tag! Freeze tag, blob tag, flashlight tag, shadow tag, you think it needs more people to play it? He’ll prove you wrong! He can make anything work
⭑ Rui loves making things, almost everything he gets for his little one will be handmade! He’ll make them little robot toys to play with, he’ll buy blank pacifiers then decorate them himself (With his little ones help of course!), he’ll make them a crib and a playpen, so much cool stuff! He can also make balloons! Sooo many balloons for his baby!
⭑ Picky eaters are perfect for Rui! Why? Because he’s also a picky eater! His little one will never need to have a vegetable argument, they’ll never even see a vegetable near this man. As a result of not liking many foods I think he’s learned to cook for himself really well! He completely understand if his little one doesn’t like something, he’ll ask them questions then make something else! “Is this a texture issue or a flavor issue?” “Is this an always issue or a today issue?” He’ll store away the information and keep on moving on! No judgement here
⭑ I think the pet names Rui uses would really depend on the little one he’s taking care of! He wants everything he does to be optimal for them, therefore of course, why wouldn’t he give them special little pet names? Pet names will be based on gender expression, interests and hobbies, favorite forms of media. Anything and everything! (Examples in order. For a girl he’d call her “Baby Girl”, if they like singing he’ll call them “Little Songbird”, if they like Paw Patrol he’d call them “My Little Pup”)
⭑ Rui’s amazing at figuring out what his little one wants! Even if they’re completely non-verbal, he’ll hand them some paper and say to draw what they want. That’s only if he can’t figure it out himself though! Usually he’ll just study them and ask for possible issues! “Hungry? Sleepy? Uncomfortable?” He’ll find the issue and make it all better! Amazing at avoiding tantrums
⭑ Rui’s best at playtime with an active little, but does that mean he’s bad at nap time? Not at all! He always has the bed made with super soft blankets and arranged so it looks like a sea of plushies. He’ll have a show on at low volume to help fill the silence, he has the best sleepy time milk ever! He’ll add honey and vanilla and just a tiny pinch of cinnamon, shake it up and warm it all up. Boom! Sleepy time milk at the ready!
⭑ I can see Rui making his own plushies! He’s not the best at sewing so he wouldn’t do it all that often, but he’s taught himself how too! Plus he’s skilled enough with a needle and thread to fix any broken plushies! Always prepared for anything!
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
I hope you were able to enjoy my thoughts Fyodor Enjoyer! And anyone else reading these of course hehe. Everyone remember to take care of yourself! The secret to an awesome day is smiling and a good attitude!

heyy I've been very confused on what age dreaming is- none of the definitions i found were helpful
So when I saw you're an age dreamer, I though I'd ask you??? Who better than a creature who is an age dreamer to explain what age dreaming is? So if it's not a problem for you, I'd like an explanation of what age dreaming is and how it works /nf
I hope you're having a good day/night and that you can buy clothes for the swirly bunny and your other stuffies!!!
I’m actually pretty new to age dreaming, so I don’t know everything there is to know about the topic. we should probably explain what age regression is first, just so there’s a basis to explain age dreaming.
age regression is where someone will mentally and/or emotionally regress to the mindset of a baby, toddler, child, or any kind of “little” person (usually ages under 10/11, but that’s not set in stone). this regression can be involuntary or voluntary, and is NOT a kink. age regressors usually enjoy things associated with young kids, such as cartoons, stuffed animals, toys, cozy clothes, or other activities and objects. this is not strictly the case though, as some regressors like media aimed for older kids or even teens. those who regress to that of a baby may enjoy things made for babies, such as pacifiers, sippy cups, teethers, onesies (or anything that emulates the vibe of baby clothes), baby blankets, or other things aimed towards babies. diapers are NOT usually involved in age regression (at least not normally), as this is more associated with ABDL (adult baby diaper lover), which is a kink and not at all related to age regression. age regression is strictly sfw, and anything nsfw is most likely age play or ABDL.
SO. we got a basis for what age regression is. now, age dreaming is where someone engages in things aimed for little kids or acts like a kid WITHOUT regressing into the mindset of a kid. age dreaming can be a basis for regressing (like if you’re dreaming and start to regress during that period), or it can be something totally separate from regressing. for me, I don’t regress at all into being a kid; my mind stays pretty intact and has the same thoughts and emotions as my big age” (the age that you actually are, versus “little age” which is the age you slip into when regressing/dreaming). I enjoy dreaming as a coping mechanism when things are getting too stressful, and I just do it for fun! I also really enjoy dreaming because I get to engage in nostalgic media and feel more happy and carefree. age dreamers still enjoy the things that regressors do, they just don’t regress into the mindset of a child. I personally like watching old shows that I watched as a kid, cuddling with my stuffies, wearing cozy clothes (especially onesies and my fleece hoodie), eating fun snacks, and stimming in fun ways.
hope this helps you and anyone else having questions about this topic! sorry it was such a long post, I just went way overboard with the details and wanted to make it as comprehensive as possible. other age regressors and/or dreamers, feel free to tag in with your own information, thoughts and experiences, I won’t mind!

how she’d treat her adopted child hcs ; brandy
Tumblr media
requested by ; anonymous (14/07/23)
fandom(s) ; bluey
fandom masterlist(s) ; here
character(s) ; brandy cattle
outline ; “hello! I heard that you do sfw requests for Bluey. I was wondering if you could do a Brandi and a adopted child reader? Like headcanons on Brandi being a mom to an adopted child reader”
warning(s) ; none, just fluff!
once she’d set her mind to it, brandy spent years preparing to adopt a child: sorting out paperwork, consulting everyone from specialists in children’s mental health to social workers and anyone in between, researching different schools, contacting different adoption agencies and preparing her house and her spare room to make everything child proof and child friendly
hell she even had chilli and bandit on speed dial and ended up consulting bluey and bingo for ideas as to what a child their age might want/enjoy — which meant many a shopping trip and ‘meetings’ that the girls took surprisingly seriously
and in the end all of the stress and costs were worth it because she got to take you home
the child (not baby, not toddler) who she’d met on chance and immediately fallen in love with — and who quickly took to her enough to agree to her taking you home with her (after everything was sorted out legally, of course)
she’s extremely gentle and cautious with you — patient to a ‘t’ as she lets you get a grasp on your new surroundings and home
she doesn’t force you to call her anything, simply introducing herself and stating her role and telling you that you can call her whatever feels the most comfortable to you
(but, of course, she does hope that one day — even if it takes some time — you’ll be happy to call her ‘mum’)
takes her time to learn about you through play and conversation — asking about your favourite dinosaurs and least favourite colour but also engaging you in conversation about your latest interest
she wants to know about everything that makes you happy, really, because she wants to be able to make you happy herself
respects your boundaries and implements a system where you’re comfortable and allowed to say ‘no’ or ‘i need some space right now’ — taking some things out of her sister’s parenting playbook and giving them her own twist
she even has a cool down corner for you stocked with the textures you prefer, plenty of your favourite type of toy and some age appropriate books that she snagged from a book fair by bribing bluey
brandy is also the type of mum who has a whole binder and schedule filled with the things you need — be that specific types of medication and doses, foods you can/can’t eat (be that due to allergies or sensory issues), any disabilities and schedules for things like appointments
she also does a heck of a lot of research (independent and aided by professionals) if you do have any disabilities and/or neurodivergence because she wants to keep you facilitated and accommodated in every way — whether that’s finding the best mobility aid or the type of medication that works best for you or even coming up with fun ways to help you compartmentalise and better focus/ground yourself
it really does depend on your specific needs, but no matter what she makes every effort to accommodate you because that’s what a good mum does
she usually either calls you by your name or ‘sweets’ (as well as variations of that nickname)
encourages you to be silly and to have fun, but she’s also pretty protective over you — like she’ll push you to go beyond your comfort zone every now and then but she does have a habit of fussing over you when you get a bruise, nick or scrape
it’s a habit she’s trying to break as you get older and become more independent, but you’re still her baby and she hates when you get hurt
you have frequent play dates with your cousins and the girls adore you — constantly coming up with new games that you can play or just lounging around with you and chatting about your lates grievances
you’ve only seen one instance of the ‘onesie’ issue and thankfully your mum was able to airlift you to safety before bingo ate you alive — it was a mightily close call (you three had a lot of fun that day, and arguably so did your parents)
every piece of art, sculpture, award, certificate or piece of writing you bring home gets displayed proudly by your mum or kept safely elsewhere
your writing and art pieces have their own scrapbook, for example, and your certificates have their own binder
sculptures, meanwhile, end up scattered about the house — mainly on her bedside table or on the mantle
if you are a part of a youth club — whether it’s sports, dance, choir, artsy/creative or acting/drama — then brandy is going to show up to all of your public appearances to support you as loudly and proudly as is appropriate
(like she’ll loudly cheer at a sporting event but she’ll rein herself in for a play)
your aunty, uncle and the girls also show up because how could they not? you show up for your cousins, after all
in short: you’ll grow up absolutely surrounded by unconditional love, encouragement and praise by both your adopted mother and your new family — and they’ll all stand beside or behind you and support you whenever you need them
because that’s just what family does

Have not figured out the full details yet but I am thinking about Kai being something like twenty four with a three year old toddler, Jurrien's the father. They get on really well and have a healthy co-parenting dynamic, on the outside looking in - you would almost wonder why they are not still together? Kai feels so much older than twenty four. His toddler has far more energy than him even if he only sleeps a few hours a night (Kai wonders if the back and forth between his place and Jurrien's place causes their baby stress even though they both stick to the same routine). Martin is his best friend, they were pregnant at the same time and Martin is currently engaged to Aaron. They attend the same mommy and me group, have lunches every week and arrange playdates between their toddlers. Martin is the one who convinces Kai to try have some fun on the nights that Jurrien has their son and Kai downloads a dating app. He's much more suave when he is texting and within an hour of matching with Declan, he's on his knees sucking Declan's cock. They start hooking up but always at Declan's place - Kai didn't mean to develop any feelings or anything so he had just lied to Declan and said that he had loads of roommates. Declan who is a little older like twenty eight or something thinks that makes sense. They're good together, they're having fun. Declan likes Kai a lot. He likes kissing Kai all over especially his stomach where Kai has an interesting scar that Declan is curious about, he works up the courage to ask one night and Kai shakingly tells him that he had a c-section, that he has a son. Declan is cool with it, he pulls out his phone to show Kai pictures of him with Kieran and Leo's kids and with Ben and Willo's new baby when he realises Kai doesn't believe him when he says he loves kids. Kai is panicked because he didn't want to really date as a parent and bring someone into his baby's life that would leave again. He and Jurrien have an unspoken agreement to simply not acknowledge the other is seeing anyone and they certainly aren't going to have anyone around their son. Of course when Declan's at the park with Kt and Leo's kids because their parents needed a break, he runs into Kai and his kid and introduces himself to Kai's son as a good friend. Kai has to tell Jurrien that the guy he's kinda dating just a little bit met their son and Jurrien is annoyed as fuck. He demands to meet Declan too. There's mess and miscommunication there. Declan meets Jurrien and to Kai's horror, the two of them seem to really hit it off as friends. Jurrien gives his fucking approval as if it was something Kai needed. Kai calms down, he and Dec make it official, Kai meets Declan's friends and things are good. Declan spends the night even when Kai has his kid under the guise of being Kai's friend and Declan's so good with him. Kai cannot let go of his fears about Declan up and leaving and Declan can't shake the fears that Kai and Jurrien will get back together. They are too happy around to be ex-anythings in Dec's mind. hi i know i already asked for one of them before but ★☆✿♡♥☮▼ൠ for karen and frank cus i LOVE ur hcs sm i swearrr <333 thank you :D
No worries! You can ask for whoever you want when I’m doing headcanon prompts, even if I’ve done them before with past ones!🙂
Happy to hear you love my HCs! Hopefully, you’ll love these as much as the last ones!
Karen:
★ - sad headcanon
After she and Frank divorced, Karen kept her engagement and wedding rings in a special jewelry box. She had considered getting rid of them, but even in the middle of her grief and sadness, she couldn’t bear to part with them. But she also couldn't bring herself to continue wearing them, so she got a small jewelry box for them. And if that jewelry box happened to be turtle-themed because it reminded her of Frank and his love of turtles, well, that’s just a coincidence…
☆ - happy headcanon
When Karen finds out she is pregnant, both times, she tells Frank by getting him a donut with the word “Daddy!” frosted on it. The first time, Frank thought it was Karen trying to be kinky or something, but when he realized what it actually meant, he was overjoyed! The second time, he immediately knew what the donut meant when he saw the word and wasted no time proclaiming his excitement.
Donuts are a little inside joke the couple has. Karen kept teasing Frank that he would be eating a lot of donuts after he graduated from the police academy, and she buys some occasionally for them to share. While Frank doesn’t eat a stereotypical amount of donuts, he enjoys the joke he shares with Karen and later gets to share with their daughters.
♥ - family headcanon
Karen has always wanted to have kids and start a family of her own. But she hated how people expected it from her just because she was a woman. She had boyfriends in the past who expected her to become a stay-at-home mom, but Karen didn’t want to give up her career, at least not permanently. That’s one thing she loves most about Frank; he never once suggested that she quit her job to raise their kids after she found out she was pregnant. He knows how smart she is and the good work she is doing at Meteor Systems. Just because they hadn’t kids didn’t seem like a reason to him for her to give that all up!
Even when Karen decided to put her career on pause for a few years to focus on her family, Frank suggested she consider working from home if she wanted to spend more time with their daughters. Caring for two babies/toddlers while also working was challenging, but Karen and Frank found resources to make her life easier. And Frank always offered to watch the girls when he wasn’t working so that Karen could take a break or catch up on her work.
☮ - friendship headcanon
Karen is a loyal friend who will always have her friends’ backs when they need her. Whether good or bad, Karen will always be there for her friends. She’s helped her friends through failed relationships and hyped them up when they got promoted. She doesn't put her friends down and always tries to keep their confidence high.
And if you hurt one of her friends, you better watch your back! Karen is resourceful and will use her connections to avenge her friend. She once made several fake ads and put a friend’s cheating ex’s phone number on them so that people would constantly be calling them about things for sale, from cookies to cars! The calls got so bad the ex needed to get a new number and never found out that Karen was the one who got them bombarded by people all across Pacific Bay.
▼ - childhood headcanon
As a child, Karen loved fairy tales and dressing up as her favourite princesses. Eventually, she outgrew this obsession, but the stories she read as a child always held a special place in her heart. When her daughters were born, fairytales were the first stories she read to them before bed. Even if she was an adult, that didn’t mean she couldn't play dolls with her daughters or dress up with them to recreate scenes from their books. It was extra fun because Frank liked to play along with them and call Karen his queen while she would tease him, saying he was her knight in shining armour (or a Hawaiian shirt!).
ൠ - random headcanon
She’s run a marathon before. While she wasn’t the winner or even in the top ten, seeing the pride and happiness on Frank’s face as she crossed the finish line made Karen feel like she was on top of the world.
Frank:
★ - sad headcanon
When Frank found out Daisy was in a coma due to meningitis, he was beyond devastated. He already lost one daughter, and he couldn't believe he was going to lose his other one before he had the chance to reconnect with her. When Karen brought him to Daisy’s hospital room for the first time, he had to force himself into the room to see her. It was heartbreaking to see his little girl hooked up to the life support machine, and it felt like he was in Laura’s hospital room, watching her die all over again. But this time, it was Daisy who he was losing.
Unable to help his daughter, Frank would visit Daisy and talk to her as she slept. Most of the time, Karen would be with him for support, but when she had to work on her heist plans, it would just be the father and daughter for a while. During these visits, Frank would bring Daisy’s favourite storybook, The Glass Princess, and read it to her. Sometimes, he would pretend that he was reading it to her so that she would fall asleep and that in the morning, Daisy would wake up, and he could tell her how much he loved her. But no matter how many times he read the fairytale, this was a curse Daisy would never wake up from…
☆ - happy headcanon
Frank's turtle, Duke, was a rescue from a case he worked on. The PBPD had arrested an animal poacher in Bayou Blue, and Duke was one of the animals they saved. Frank instantly fell in love with the turtle and adopted him as soon as the Veterinarian gave him the go-ahead. He loves his little buddy and learned everything about turtles to keep Duke safe, happy and healthy. This led to some teasing from his coworkers and an ever-growing collection of turtle-themed gifts from friends and family. Still, Frank secretly enjoys them, even if he’ll roll his eyes and grumble at receiving another turtle-themed Hawaiian shirt.
(His favourite gift was from Harvey Fitchner. It was a set of matching Hawaiian shirts, one for Frank and one for Duke.)
♥ - family headcanon
Frank was nervous about becoming a dad for the first time. He was scared that he would mess things up and his kids would hate him. He read parenting books, asked other fathers for advice, and even attended classes with Karen. But nothing could calm his nerves as he worried about being a horrible father before he was even officially one. Karen tried to help him see that he would be a good father but even her encouragement didn’t do much to reassure him.
But when Laura was born, and he held her for the first time, Frank realized that nothing would truly prepare him for this new chapter of his life. Sure, he could get advice and read books, but those people and authors didn’t know Laura and who she would be. Maybe he would mess up sometimes but what’s life without a little mess? This baby, who was only a few hours old, was already smiling at him like he had hung the stars in the sky, and she didn’t even know him! Frank knows he’ll make mistakes, but as he rocked Laura to sleep for the first time, he vowed to learn from every mistake he made so that he would become the father she (and later Daisy) deserved.
☮ - friendship headcanon
Like Karen, Frank is a loyal friend. However, one of his faults is that he doesn’t have the best memory and tends to forget things like birthdays and anniversaries… But that doesn’t mean he’ll forget when a friend invites him over to watch a game or out for drinks! He always tries to attend important things in his friends' lives, like weddings, birthday pirates (even if he has to scramble for a last-minute gift), or special celebrations. And if he can’t make it, he’ll be sure to message his friend(s) to apologize and let them know he’ll be at the next get-together.
▼ - childhood headcanon
Frank was one of the kids who liked to play rough with others, though he could be gentle when he wanted to be. When playing, he and his friends gave each other countless cuts, bruises, and scratches, but no injury was intentional. But they did tone down the roughhousing when one of them accidentally fell out of a tree and broke their arm. After that, the kids were more mindful of the dangers their games could cause.
ൠ - random headcanon
Once, he tried making whiskey himself. The results were… Bad, to put it nicely. While you could technically consume it, you would immediately spit it out. And if you managed to swallow, you would probably throw up or find yourself on the toilet shortly thereafter!
(Frank was banned from making homemade alcohol of any kind after this attempt.)
Given their nature, I combined a couple of prompts. I hope it's alright that I did a couple at two for the price of one!
Karen and Frank:
✿ - Sex headcanon
Frank and Karen have always had a good sex life. It was built on consent and learning each other's preferences so that both would be pleasured. They can have their kinky moments, but they always ensure the other is comfortable with trying something new. They have safewords for these types of times and always honour the promise to stop when a safeword is spoken. They also had some embarrassing moments when trying out a new position or kink, but like all of their intimate times, it stays between them.
♡ - romantic headcanon
Frank proposed to Karen after recreating their first date. He took her to the restaurant where they had eaten, and they ordered their favourite food plus dessert. He changed it up a little by taking her to Paradise City so they could visit their favourite casino to gamble a little. Frank loves watching Karen clean house at the poker table, and after cashing out their winnings, Frank brings her to watch a fireworks show. As the explosions of light lit up the sky, Frank got down on one knee behind Karen, calling her name as he took out the ring.
Karen was shocked when she saw him on his knee and holding a beautiful ring. Before asking the burning question, Frank poured his love out to Karen, telling her how much she meant to him and how better his life had been since she came into it. He told her of the future he wanted to have with her, from the house they always dreamed of having to the beautiful children they would raise. When he finally asked if she would marry him, Karen said yes through tears of joy. As the couple kissed and Frank slipped the ring on Karen’s finger, the last firework shot into the sky: a bright red heart.
(Frank had a friend who worked on the show who owed him a favour.)
And there are my headcanons for Karen and Frank! Thanks for the request, Fluffy! Enjoy my latest contribution to KarenXFrank!

Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
- Alec
Mama Jacobs wishes you a Merry Christmas with a tin of her homemade peppermint bark
Tumblr media
@lucie-newman
To keep warm and cozy this winter, it’s basically a wearable fuzzy blanket. Additionally, I would like to extend the offer to be Unknown Destination’s official photographer for the year of 2024, covering all promotional material for the band.
Tumblr media
@isabelarcmero
This year, you’ve got a new speaker to listen to tunes loudly on, a knit blanket to keep warm, and a new Coach wallet. One of the mini ones for your cards and cash. Even though you’re a pain in the ass sometimes, you deserve all of this and more.
Tumblr media
@mcgreyson
What better way to kick off the year than with a new wallet? That, and some new gloves and a scarf to keep warm through the winter. Here’s to another year kicking ass in the shop together.
Tumblr media
@darpow
New year, new headphones. Now the more important part. I had the best of our original music as a band from that’s ever been performed live pressed, so Unknown Destination is officially on vinyl! Including you on drums. Thanks for another rad year jamming out together!
Tumblr media
@emelineviolette
Somehow being a pain in my ass only gets you rewarded.. This year, those rewards include a bunch of new chokers, a new camera to capture memories for a collage, a sweater and yes.. a tortilla blanket to turn into a burrito in. Thanks for another year of fun. At least sometimes.
Tumblr media
@cagenewman + Colton
@cordeliaeli + Rosalyn
First off, congratulations on the engagement! Look forward to celebrating that. For the time being, it’s the time of year for spoiling. Mainly the kids, to no surprise. For baby Rosalyn, a pair of pink glitter Vans. Also, yes, that is a fully functional toddler size guitar. Lastly, a little jungle gym thing that might help tire her out when she needs to go to bed. Cordelia, some new kitchen stuff. Not just because I enjoy my weekend baked goods. I know how much you enjoy making food, so a new matching marble rolling pin and board as well as some new bakeware. For Colt, some beanies since it’s winter time, one of those controllers you can attach to your phone to play, and a vintage Bills jacket. Lastly, Cage, beanie and a scarf to keep warm through the winter, some flannels and a new jacket to add to the collection.

Hi there! You know how a few weeks back you explained how to add CC to The Sims 4? Yeah, that kinda ruined my life I'm obessed now help was super helpful and surprisingly easy! You're totally right that it makes the game so much better.
I was wondering if you can share some of your fave ones, or if you know websites that have particularly good content to add. I found some great stuff here on tumblr but hey, why not ask for some recs? ✨
Hey! I'm so glad I was able to drag you into my addiction help! Here's some mods that I think are essential for my game that you might like too! (putting it under a read more for convienence to all those uninterested)
^Vicky has a ton of great mods but the ones that change traits, such as 100 base game traits and More CAS traits, plus Better CAS Randomization are literal game changers and I can no longer play without them
^Another great modder but especially for "My x" stuff, that stuff adds realism (like a better memory system) but also small visual details, like a blush when flirty or eyebags when exhausted. They're small details but I personally like it when my sim's eyes get teary when they're sad
^If you're planning on decorating your house at all (although you don't have to cause there are some gorgeous houses on mod sites and the gallery) this is a must. Idk why EA decided that mirrors can't be moved up and down but it's dumb move
^This one is great for adding more realism for weddings. It gives you options such as "Shop for ring" "Sign prenup" and "Shop for dresses". Now they don't really do anything (the mod will send your engaged sim and their partner off the lot for a while and they come back with a mood buff) but I think it adds a nice touch for story telling purposes and is probably the most fun part of planning a wedding
^LittleMsSam is another modder who is absolutely great, these are a bunch of her smaller mods,. There's a ton of them and not all of them might not be needed but I reccomend looking through them because there are some that are life changers (like famous sims gain followers automatically, which makes staying famous way easier)
^This is the most important mod on my list. I don't know if it bothers you as much as it bothers me but I hate it when I tell my sim to go to another room (whether to use the bathroom or check on their baby) and they pause to sniff the the air or to point out a mess, this mod basically makes it so that they do those things while still walking to save time. As much as I love all these mods, this one is probably the best
^This one is really good if you're planning on adding toddlers to your family because it gives you more items that can level up their skills (which can be really hard, esp without a wabbit tablet/their parents are busy)
^Me personally I prefer the method of moving NPCs into my house and then killing them when it comes to making money but if you prefer to make money the conventional way this mod adds more jobs your sims can do
https://twitter.com/PandaSamaSims4
I've decided I'm just gonna reccomended Pandasama because they also make a ton of really great mods
~~I'm gonna reblog with some of my favorite occult mods because I'm running out of space~~

OOC Updates!
A few things, I'll have around 3 major post and then I'll be doing a timeskip for my story! I've always wanted to focus on young royals in college but I also wanted to build up a bit of the world before I did so. Now that I have, I'll be rolling onto the next phases. The actual story, HRH The Young Royals, won't be posted until next year. That gives me a few more months to plan things out and how I want to start off the entire thing but all of the heir's will be heading to college, scandals, drama, power struggles and all of that. Eyes will be on them. I'm going to invest in an actual story tag and I ponder the idea of having tags for induvial sims. If anyone thinks that's a good idea, lemme know!
The character pages will be down as I fix them up to remove old characters and introduce new ones. I had it has only royal family members but I think it'll now become a page for major characters in that Kingdom's story.
The blog won't be going in-active though! The timeskip will be about 18 years, so I'll be posting some bts photos of them as infants, toddlers, kids, and picking up on the transition from high school to college in picture/poses form so people can see the kids and etc. There will also be one off post about engagements, baby photos, presenting the baby for countries that do it and etc, just fun stuff in the form of GV BUZZ. I also want to felt out my Kingdom's news outlets and get into making pretty article post!
I still have at least 3 major things to post, as they'll be having during the timeskip and to close out.
Najwa's party that will close out the year, involving all of the active Kingdom's. And It'll be a longer story post with convo's and etc, not just more like my state visit round up post.
I want to get in practicing posing and staging a funeral because I haven't done that as a post yet and a few people are being cut so at least one of that.
And the coronation of my new monarch's before the time skip because one is coming after and I want to get in some practice with that as well!
But this was the round up and thank everyone for any support they've shown! I'm shy and still working on the interacting and putting myself out there so fingers crossed!

Guide: Honolulu, Hawaii - What to do and Where to go on Oahu
I’ve been to Honolulu a few times! The first time was with my family when my Dad was working on a special for Fox in 2000, which was a Britney Spears concert featuring Destiny’s Child and Joe (sings “I Wanna Know)! Then I also went with Josh, part of our island hopping after we got engaged in Maui in 2013. We also went for Thanksgiving in 2023 with a baby and a toddler. Those were 3 very different trips as you can imagine!
Oahu, the "Gathering Place," isn't just another pretty island; it's a Hawaiian party you’re invited to! Think lush volcanic peaks plunging into turquoise waters, waves that’ll make surfers drool, and enough shave ice to give you a brain freeze (in the best way possible). Want to hang with Mickey Mouse in a Hawaiian shirt? Aulani's your jam. Fancy a wild encounter? The Honolulu Zoo's got you covered (just try not to challenge the monkeys to a staring contest). Prefer underwater adventures? Dive into the Waikiki Aquarium and say "Aloha" to the colorful reef fish. Feeling a bit more historical? Hike Diamond Head for panoramic views or take a poignant trip to Pearl Harbor. And because no Hawaiian adventure is complete without a sweet treat, we'll point you in the direction of some seriously epic ice cream spots (because calories don't count on vacation, right?). So, ditch the mainland worries, grab your flip-flops, and get ready for an Oahu adventure that’s as diverse as it is delightful!
Where to Stay in Oahu
I’ve stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort a few times now and highly recommend it over other hotels! If you’ve seen the Waikiki skyline, it’s the hotel with the rainbow towers. It was the perfect place for a family, or can be great for couples or parties too, with multiple fun pool areas and located as the name of the resort suggests, right on Waikiki Beach!
Why You Should Shack Up at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort
This isn't just a hotel; it's a village! A sprawling oasis of fun, sun, and all things Hawaiian. Think of it as a mini-city dedicated to relaxation and good vibes, complete with its own lagoon, shops, restaurants, and (most importantly) ice cream opportunities.
Why the Lei-ing Around at the Hilton Hawaiian Village is a Must:
Location, Location, Aloha-cation! Situated on Waikiki's widest stretch of beach, you're steps away from the sand, surf, and stunning ocean views. It’s like having your own private slice of paradise (with a few thousand of your closest friends).
More Than Just a Room (It's a Whole Vibe): Forget cramped hotel rooms. The Hilton Hawaiian Village is a sprawling resort with multiple towers, each offering unique views and experiences. You could practically get lost exploring the grounds (in a good way!).
Activities Galore (You Might Need a Vacation From Your Vacation): From surfing lessons and catamaran cruises to lei making and hula dancing, there’s never a dull moment. You might need to schedule some downtime to recover from all the fun!
Food, Glorious Food (and Ice Cream!): With over 20 restaurants and bars, you’ll find everything from casual poolside snacks to fine dining experiences. And yes, there are plenty of places to grab a sweet, refreshing scoop of ice cream (more on that later!).
A Few Highlights That'll Make You Say "Aloha Awesome!":
Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon: This five-acre saltwater lagoon is perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking. It’s like having your own private ocean playground (without the waves crashing in your face).
Paradise Pool: This isn't your average hotel pool. We're talking waterfalls, slides, and plenty of space to lounge and soak up the sun. It's basically a water park within a resort!
The Beach (Duh!): With Waikiki Beach right at your doorstep, you can spend your days building sandcastles, taking a dip in the ocean, or simply relaxing and watching the surfers catch some waves.
Shopping, Shopping, Shopping! The resort has its own shopping village with a variety of stores selling everything from souvenirs and beachwear to high-end fashion. So, if you forget your swimsuit (or just want to treat yourself), you’re covered.
Ice Cream, Glorious Ice Cream! Okay, I promised ice cream, and I deliver! With multiple locations within the village offering a variety of flavors and treats, you can satisfy your sweet tooth anytime. Lappert’s is a MUST!
In a Coconut Shell: The Hilton Hawaiian Village is more than just a place to stay; it's a destination in itself. It’s a place where you can experience the best of Waikiki, relax in style, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
When Josh and I went in 2013, we used points and stayed at the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach. It was nice, but not like a resort. They had a pool, but wasn’t very resort like. You’d probably be better off walking to the beach which was just down the street. The upside was our room was huge and had a view of Diamond Head.
What to do in Oahu (hey, that rhymes!)
Oahu is a busier island compared to Maui or Kauai and Honolulu is more city like (like a nicer Santa Monica) in respects to restaurants, shops, and hotels. However, I hear the North Shore is where everyone goes to get away from the noise! I haven’t been to the north shore though.
Day trip in Honolulu: Visit Disney’s Aulani
Aulani is fun whether you’re a Disney fan or not, but let’s face it, I wanted to go check it out because I love Disney! Aulani is where Hawaiian culture meets Disney magic, creating a unique and unforgettable experience. It's like a luau and a Disney movie had a beautiful, tropical baby.
Not interested in staying at the resort and want to just stop by? If you go just past the Aulani resort, there is a public beach and a parking lot that gives you access to this perfect spot to spend the day. We picked up breakfast from Eggs n Things (walking distance from the Aulani resort) and had a beach breakfast, but there is also a Monkeypod Restaurant (with my fave Mai tais), or Black Sheep Cream Co (someone say ice cream?)!
For public parking: Drive down Aliinui Dr, make a right on Kamoana Place, and head to the end of the street into the parking lot 91100 Kamoana Place, Kapolei, HI 96707. There are limited spots so get there before 8a. If you walk through the parking lot towards the ocean, you will be right next to the Aulani resort and in their lagoon area.
Why the Hula-Hoopla about Aulani?
It's Not Just a Hotel, It's an Immersion: Aulani isn't just a place to sleep; it's a fully immersive experience. From the moment you arrive, you're transported to a world of Hawaiian storytelling, culture, and (of course) Disney enchantment.
Something for Everyone (Even the Grumpy Gus): Whether you're a thrill-seeker, a relaxation enthusiast, or a die-hard Disney fan, Aulani has something for you. Kids will be in paradise with the pools, water slides, and character meet-and-greets, while adults can unwind at the spa, enjoy fine dining, or sip cocktails by the ocean.
Hawaiian Culture Woven Throughout: Aulani isn't just about Mickey Mouse; it's deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture. From the architecture and artwork to the activities and storytelling, you'll learn about the rich traditions and history of the islands. It’s educational AND fun – sneaky, Disney, sneaky!
Character Meet-and-Greets with a Hawaiian Twist: Imagine meeting Mickey Mouse in his Hawaiian shirt or Minnie Mouse in a beautiful floral dress. It's the classic Disney magic you love, with a fun tropical twist. Prepare for some adorable photo ops as I even bumped into Chip and Dale!
- A Few Reasons Why You'll Be Saying "Aloha Aulani!":
Waikolohe Valley: This isn't your average hotel pool. We're talking multiple pools, water slides (including the thrilling Volcanic Vertical!), a lazy river, and even a splash zone for the little ones. It's a water wonderland!
Aunty's Beach House: This supervised kids' club is a dream come true for parents. While the kids are having a blast with games, crafts, and Hawaiian-themed activities, the adults can enjoy some much-needed relaxation time. It's a win-win!
Laniwai – A Disney Spa: Need some pampering? Laniwai Spa offers a range of relaxing treatments inspired by Hawaiian traditions. It's the perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate after a day of fun in the sun.
Dining with Character (and Delicious Food): From casual poolside snacks to fine dining experiences, Aulani offers a variety of dining options to satisfy every palate. And yes, you can even dine with some of your favorite Disney characters!
The Beach!: Let's not forget the beautiful beach right outside the resort. Build sandcastles, take a dip in the ocean, or simply relax and soak up the Hawaiian sun.
In a nutshell: Aulani is more than just a vacation; it's an experience. It's a place where you can create unforgettable memories with your family, immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture, and experience the magic of Disney in a whole new way.
Why Lappert's Ice Cream in Waikiki is a MUST-TRY (and a few flavors to get you started!)
Okay, listen up, fellow travelers and sweet treat enthusiasts! If you find yourself strolling along the sunny shores of Waikiki, with the warm Hawaiian breeze whispering sweet nothings in your ear, there's one pit stop you absolutely CANNOT miss: Lappert's Ice Cream.
Forget those sad, mass-produced scoops you find at the grocery store. Lappert's is the real deal, a true taste of Aloha in every lick. This isn't just ice cream; it's an experience. It's like a mini-vacation for your taste buds, a tropical party in your mouth!
Why the Hula-Baloo about Lappert's?
Locally Made with Love: Lappert's isn't some big mainland chain. They're a homegrown Hawaiian gem, crafting their ice cream with the freshest ingredients and a whole lotta aloha spirit. You can taste the difference!
Flavors That'll Make You Say "Whoa!": Forget boring vanilla (unless it's Tahitian Vanilla, because, well, that's just classy). Lappert's boasts a dazzling array of unique and drool-worthy flavors that'll make your head spin faster than a hula dancer.
Perfect Waikiki Treat: What's better than strolling along Waikiki Beach with a cone of pure deliciousness in hand? Nothing, that's what. It's the ultimate way to cool down after a day of sun, sand, and surf.
Okay, Okay, I'm Sold! But What Flavors Should I Try?
Alright, here are a few Lappert's flavor suggestions to get your taste buds tingling:
Kona Coffee: If you're a coffee lover, this is your jam. Rich, creamy, and packed with the bold flavor of Kona coffee, it's like a caffeine kick and a dessert all in one. Perfect for that afternoon pick-me-up!
Hawaiian Sea Salt Caramel: Sweet, salty, and oh-so-decadent, this flavor is a symphony of contrasting tastes that somehow harmonize perfectly. It's like a caramel hug with a salty kiss.
Macadamia Nut: You can't go to Hawaii without trying macadamia nuts, and Lappert's Macadamia Nut ice cream is the perfect way to do it. Creamy, nutty, and utterly irresistible.
Tropical Dreams (like Passion Fruit or Mango): If you're feeling adventurous, dive into one of Lappert's tropical flavors. These vibrant and fruity scoops are like a burst of sunshine in your mouth.
Pro-Tip: Don't be shy about asking for samples! The friendly staff at Lappert's are usually happy to let you try a few flavors before you commit.
I suddenly have a craving for some Kona Coffee ice cream...
Food and Restaurants on Oahu
Monkeypod (In the Outrigger Reef Resort - 2169 Kālia Rd unit 111, Honolulu, HI 96815 or next to the Aulani resort) ALWAYS go to Monkeypod... Any chance you get. We like to go during Happy Hour for the discounted prices, sunset, and drinks. What could be happier?
See our full review: Monkeypod Kitchen
Food Truck Park (1944 Kalākaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815) We found food trucks within walking distance of our hotel with tons of different options of any cuisine you could think of. It was perfect with the little ones because we got out on a walk and then had so many cusines to choose from. Some places had picnic tables but we opted to take food back to our room to enjoy our ocean view. We grabbed burgers, BBQ, Mac n Cheese, shave ice from their respective trucks!
A Few Things to Know About Food Trucks Before You Roll Out:
Cash is King (Sometimes): While some trucks accept cards, it's always a good idea to have some cash on hand, just in case.
Embrace the Lines (They're Worth It): Popular trucks can have lines, but trust me, the wait is usually worth the culinary reward. Plus, it's a great opportunity to people-watch and soak up the local vibes.
BYOB (Bring Your Own… Blanket!): Some parks have seating areas, but it's always a good idea to bring a blanket or towel to spread out and enjoy your feast picnic-style.
Check Social Media: Many food trucks post their locations and hours on social media, so it's a good idea to check their pages before you head out.
(Note: Food truck lineups can change, so it's always best to check for current vendors.)
A Few Food Truck Must-Trys (Because I Know You're Curious):
Garlic Shrimp: You can't go to Hawaii without trying garlic shrimp, and many food trucks offer their own delicious versions of this local favorite.
Plate Lunch: This Hawaiian staple typically includes two scoops of rice, macaroni salad, and a protein like kalua pig, chicken katsu, or teriyaki beef. It's a hearty and satisfying meal.
Poke Bowls: Fresh, flavorful, and oh-so-Instagrammable, poke bowls are a must-try for any seafood lover.
Shave Ice (For That Sweet Ending!): No food truck adventure is complete without a refreshing shave ice. Choose from a rainbow of flavors and add some sweet toppings like condensed milk or azuki beans. It's the perfect way to cool down on a hot Hawaiian day. Many food truck gatherings will have a dedicated shave ice vendor. If not, look for a stand nearby!
Don't Forget Dessert! While many food trucks focus on savory dishes, keep your eyes peeled for dessert trucks offering everything from gourmet cookies and brownies to malasadas (Portuguese donuts) and, of course, ice cream! It's the perfect sweet ending to your food truck feast.
Diamond Head: I'm Not a Hiker, But Even I Conquered This Volcanic Dude (And You Can Too!)
Okay, let's be real. I'm not exactly what you'd call an "avid hiker." My idea of a good workout usually involves a brisk walk to the freezer for ice cream. But even I was captivated by the majestic allure of Diamond Head, that iconic volcanic crater looming over Waikiki. So, if a self-proclaimed non-hiker like me can conquer this Hawaiian landmark, then you absolutely can too!
This isn't just a hike; it's a mini-adventure through history, geology, and some seriously stunning views. So, lace up your (most comfortable) shoes, grab some water, and let's embark on this slightly-sweaty-but-totally-worth-it journey!
A Little History to Get You Geologically Pumped:
Not Actually a Diamond: Contrary to popular belief, there are no actual diamonds to be found in Diamond Head. The name came from British sailors in the 19th century who mistook calcite crystals for diamonds. Oops!
A Volcanic Legacy: Diamond Head (or Lēʻahi in Hawaiian) is a tuff cone formed by a volcanic eruption about 300,000 years ago. Talk about ancient history!
Strategic Military Post: In the early 20th century, the U.S. military built fortifications within the crater to protect Honolulu. You can still see some of these remnants along the trail.
Parking: The Not-So-Fun Part (But We'll Get Through It Together):
Get There Early (Seriously): Parking at the Diamond Head State Monument is limited, and it fills up fast, especially on weekends and holidays. Aim to arrive as close to opening time (6:00 AM) as possible. Trust me, future-you will thank you.
Reservation Required: You must have a reservation to visit so book up to 30 days in advance. See the Go State Hawaii Parks site for all the info.
Don’t Hold It! There are public restrooms available.
Parking Fees: There is a fee for parking inside the crater. It's best to check the official Hawaii State Parks website for the most up-to-date pricing.
Alternative Options: If parking inside is full (which it probably will be if you don't arrive at the crack of dawn), you can park outside the crater and walk in. It's a bit of a walk, but it's a good warm-up for the hike. Consider taking the bus or a rideshare if you don't have a car.
The Hike: It's Not as Scary as It Looks (I Promise!):
The Trail: The hike is a 1.6-mile roundtrip trail that climbs 560 feet. It's mostly paved, but there are some uneven sections and stairs, including a long, winding staircase inside a tunnel.
How Long Does It Take? Most people can complete the hike in about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on their pace and how many photo stops they make (and trust me, you'll be making a lot).
What to Bring: Water (essential!), sunscreen, a hat, comfortable shoes (no flipflops), and a camera to capture those epic views.
The View From the Top: Worth Every Step (Even the Sweaty Ones):
Panoramic Perfection: The view from the summit is absolutely breathtaking. You'll be treated to panoramic views of Waikiki, the Pacific Ocean, and the surrounding mountains. It's like a postcard come to life!
Photo Ops Galore: Get ready to snap some seriously Instagram-worthy photos. You can see the Waikiki skyline as well as ocean views. There was also a darling lighthouse below the peak, which was built in 1917.
Bragging Rights: You conquered Diamond Head! Now you can officially brag to all your friends and family (and maybe even get a little bit of hiking street cred).
Hiking Diamond Head is a must-do for any visitor to Oahu, even if you're not a hardcore hiker. It's a relatively short and manageable hike with a huge payoff: stunning views, a dose of history, and the satisfaction of conquering a volcanic crater. So, go for it! You might just surprise yourself (and discover a newfound love for slightly-sweaty outdoor adventures). If you do go, keep in mind, that you deserve a celebratory shave ice after all that "hiking."
Visit Pearl Harbor
Okay, history buffs and curious travelers, gather 'round! We're diving deep (not literally, thankfully) into one of the most significant historical sites in the United States: Pearl Harbor. Now, I know what you might be thinking: "History? That sounds like homework." My poor Dad wanted to go when my sister and I were teens but we couldn’t be bothered with a museum. Sorry Dad! It was enlightening and interesting, and I appreciated much more than my teen self would have.
But trust me on this one, Pearl Harbor is way more than just dates and battleships. It's a powerful and moving experience that will leave a lasting impression.
There are 5 must-sees at Pearl Harbor that you absolutely cannot miss:
1. The USS Arizona Memorial: A Floating Tomb and a Powerful Reminder
This is the centerpiece of the Pearl Harbor experience, and for good reason. The USS Arizona Memorial straddles the sunken remains of the battleship USS Arizona, where over 1,100 sailors and Marines lost their lives. Standing on the memorial, looking down at the rusting hull below, is a truly sobering experience. You can still see oil seeping from the ship, known as the "black tears," a poignant reminder of the lives lost. It's a place for quiet reflection and remembrance. Pro tip: Tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial are free but often book up quickly. Reserve them online in advance to avoid disappointment.
2. The USS Missouri: Where World War II Officially Ended
From the beginning of the war to its very end, Pearl Harbor has a story to tell. After the somber experience at the Arizona, a visit to the USS Missouri offers a different perspective. This mighty battleship was the site of the official surrender of Japan, marking the end of World War II. Walking the deck where the Instrument of Surrender was signed is a truly historic moment. You can practically feel the weight of history in the air. Plus, it's a massive battleship! Who doesn't love exploring a giant ship?
3. The Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor: Wings Over the Water
Calling all aviation enthusiasts! This museum, located on Ford Island, is a must-see. Housed in historic hangars that survived the attack, the museum showcases a fascinating collection of aircraft from World War II and beyond. You can see bullet holes in the windows and other remnants of the attack, making the experience even more impactful. It's a great way to learn about the crucial role aviation played in the Pacific theater.
4. The USS Oklahoma Memorial: Honoring the Forgotten Ship
While the Arizona is the most well-known casualty of the attack, the USS Oklahoma also suffered devastating losses. This memorial honors the 429 crewmen who perished when the Oklahoma capsized. It's a quieter, more intimate memorial, but no less moving. It's a reminder that every life lost at Pearl Harbor is worthy of remembrance.
5. The Pearl Harbor Visitor Center: Setting the Stage
Before you embark on your Pearl Harbor journey, be sure to spend some time at the Visitor Center. Here, you'll find informative exhibits, historical films, and personal accounts that provide crucial context for the events of December 7, 1941. It's a great way to prepare yourself emotionally and intellectually for the experience.
A Few Extra Tips for Your Visit:
Dress respectfully: This is a place of remembrance, so dress appropriately.
Arrive early: Especially if you don't have advance reservations for the Arizona Memorial.
Allow ample time: There's a lot to see and absorb, so don't rush your visit.
Be prepared for emotions: Pearl Harbor is a powerful and moving experience. It's okay to feel a range of emotions during your visit.
Visiting Pearl Harbor is more than just a sightseeing trip; it's a pilgrimage to a place of immense historical significance. It's a chance to honor the lives lost, learn from the past, and reflect on the importance of peace. Aloha!
Wild Times in Waikiki: 5 Reasons to Go Wild for the Honolulu Zoo & Dive into the Waikiki Aquarium
When you think of Honolulu, images of sun-kissed beaches, surfing, and maybe a Mai Tai or two probably spring to mind. But nestled amongst the vibrant energy of Waikiki are two fantastic attractions that offer a different kind of island adventure: the Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium. And guess what? I'm here to tell you why you should totally add them to your itinerary!
Honolulu Zoo: Where the Wild Things Roam (Just Steps from the Beach!)
Forget dusty old zoos; the Honolulu Zoo is a tropical oasis teeming with exotic animals and lush greenery, just a stone's throw from the famous Waikiki shoreline. Here are five reasons why it's worth a visit:
See Amazing Animals You Won't See at Home (Unless You Live in Africa): From majestic lions and playful orangutans to graceful giraffes and quirky Komodo dragons, the Honolulu Zoo is home to a diverse collection of animals from around the world. It's a fantastic opportunity to see these creatures up close and learn about their unique habitats and behaviors. Plus, they have a fantastic collection of native Hawaiian species!
It's a Lush Escape from the City Buzz: Waikiki can be a whirlwind of activity, but the zoo offers a tranquil escape. Stroll through beautifully landscaped gardens, listen to the sounds of nature, and enjoy a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle. It's like stepping into a mini-jungle in the heart of the city.
Perfect for Families (and Kids at Heart): Whether you're traveling with little ones or simply embrace your inner child, the Honolulu Zoo is a fun and engaging experience for all ages. There are interactive exhibits, educational programs, and plenty of opportunities to get up close with the animals.
Support Conservation Efforts: By visiting the Honolulu Zoo, you're contributing to their important conservation work. They're actively involved in breeding programs for endangered species and educating the public about the importance of protecting wildlife and their habitats.
It's Surprisingly Affordable: Compared to other attractions in Waikiki, the Honolulu Zoo offers a great value for your money. It's a fun and enriching experience that won't break the bank.
Bonus Dive: Waikiki Aquarium - Under the Sea, Darling, It's Better Down Where It's Wetter! (couldn’t resist, I love the Little Mermaid)
Just a short walk from the zoo, you can plunge into the underwater world at the Waikiki Aquarium, the second oldest public aquarium in the United States. Here's why you should make a splash:
Discover Hawaii's Unique Marine Life: The Waikiki Aquarium focuses on showcasing the incredible diversity of marine life found in Hawaiian waters. From colorful reef fish and majestic sea turtles to fascinating jellyfish and endangered Hawaiian monk seals, you'll get a glimpse into the vibrant underwater ecosystems that surround the islands.
Get Up Close and Personal with Coral Reefs: The aquarium has stunning coral reef exhibits that allow you to see these delicate ecosystems up close. Learn about the importance of coral reefs and the threats they face.
It's Educational and Engaging: The Waikiki Aquarium offers informative exhibits and programs that are both educational and entertaining. It's a great way to learn about marine conservation and the importance of protecting our oceans.
So, next time you're in Honolulu, don't just stick to the beach (though that's definitely a must-do too!). Take a walk on the wild side at the Honolulu Zoo and dive into the depths of the Waikiki Aquarium. You might just discover a whole new side to the island paradise.
Though we LOVE Maui, I have enjoyed Oahu, a magical island where you can hike volcanic craters, surf legendary waves, snorkel with sea turtles, stuff your face with plate lunch, and maybe even spot a celebrity or two (just try not to stare at Mickey at Aulani). From the bustling city vibes of Honolulu to the laid-back surf towns of the North Shore, Oahu has something for everyone. Whether you're a thrill-seeking adventurer, a beach-bum extraordinaire, a history buff, or just someone who really, really likes pineapples, you're guaranteed to have a blast. Now go forth, explore, and remember to pack your sunscreen, your sense of adventure, and maybe an extra pair of stretchy pants for all that delicious Hawaiian food. Aloha and happy exploring!
More Hawaii? Here you go!

What you need to know about choosing the right family dental clinic
Dental care isn't just about keeping those pearly whites sparkling; it's an essential aspect of overall health that can impact every member of your family.
From toddlers cutting their first teeth to grandparents maintaining their oral health, family dental care plays a pivotal role in ensuring bright smiles for generations to come.
In this comprehensive guide, we'll delve into the importance of family dental care, provide expert tips, and address common questions, all while keeping things light, engaging, and informative.
Why Family Dental Care Matters
Tumblr media
"Mom, do I really have to brush my teeth?" If you've ever heard that plea from your little one, you're not alone.
Dental care might seem like a mundane chore, but it's an investment in a lifetime of confident smiles and healthy mouths. Ensuring your family's dental health goes beyond just preventing cavities.
Did you know that oral health has been linked to heart health and diabetes? Yes, that's right—taking care of those chompers can mean more than just avoiding a toothache!
Starting Early: Dental Care for Kids
Ah, the joy of a baby's first tooth—and the teething that precedes it! But worry not, parents; this phase is just the beginning of your child's oral health journey.
From the moment that first tooth emerges, it's crucial to start a dental care routine. A tiny smear of toothpaste for toddlers, a pea-sized amount for older kids—and yes, you're the toothbrushing maestro until they can tie their shoelaces!
Teen Dental Woes: Navigating Braces and Beyond
Brace yourself—your teen is getting braces! But hey, it's not all doom and gloom. Braces are like a rite of passage, and they're now cooler than ever with more colors and patterns to choose from. This is also a golden opportunity to teach your teenager about the importance of consistent dental care. And yes, they might roll their eyes, but deep down, they appreciate your guidance—really, they do!
Adult Dental Health: Beyond the Basics
Congratulations, You've graduated from teen angst to adulting! But guess what? Dental care is still on the syllabus. As adults, our dental needs evolve.
We're not just worrying about cavities anymore; it's about preventing gum disease and keeping those coffee and red wine stains in check.
Hey, life's too short to give up that morning espresso, right? Fear not; we've got tips for striking a balance between indulgence and dental diligence.
Caring for Senior Smiles
Aging gracefully includes maintaining a radiant smile! Just because the years are adding up doesn't mean your teeth have to clock out.
Senior dental care involves its own set of considerations, from dry mouth to dentures.
But with a bit of proactive care, your golden years can be marked by laughter, great conversations, and a set of teeth that shine as bright as your wisdom.
Expert Tips for Maintaining Family Dental Health
Tumblr media
Make Brushing a Family Affair:
Turn toothbrushing into a bonding ritual by doing it together as a family. Who knew oral hygiene could be so much fun?
Healthy Snacking, Happy Teeth:
Opt for tooth-friendly snacks like crunchy fruits and vegetables. They're not just good for your waistline; they give your teeth a workout too!
Regular Check-ups Are Non-Negotiable
Scheduling regular dental visits for kids sets a great example and ensures everyone's dental health is on track.
Fluoride:
A Dental Superhero: From toothpaste to tap water, fluoride is your smile's best friend. It helps prevent cavities and keeps enamel strong.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When should my child have their first dental visit?
A: The American Dental Association recommends a visit within six months of the first tooth appearing, or by the first birthday.
Q: Are electric toothbrushes better than manual ones?
A: Both can be effective, but electric brushes can make brushing more fun for kids and might provide better plaque removal for adults.
Q: How often should I replace my toothbrush?
A: Every three to four months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn-out toothbrush won't do a thorough job!
Smile Bright: The Future of Your Family's Dental Health
As you embark on this journey to maintain your family's dental health, remember that each toothbrushing session, each dental visit, and each healthy choice paves the way for a brighter smile and better overall health.
Family dental care isn't just about ensuring proper hygiene; it's about creating memories of laughter, teaching responsibility, and embracing the joy of showing off those confident grins.
Conclusion
Family dental care is a journey that spans generations, from a baby's first tooth to grandpa's well-earned grin.
Through the ups and downs, the braces and brushings, one thing remains clear: taking care of those smiles is a gift that keeps on giving.
So, keep brushing, flossing, and sharing those dentist jokes around the dinner table. Your family's dental health is in your hands, and it's something to smile about.

regression for beginners 🚀
reminders 🌟
don't worry if it takes a while to fully regress! that's completely normal
everyone's regression is different, and that's ok! don't compare your regression to others'
regressing may feel a little awkward or embarrassing at first. it'll get better with time!
regressing for the first time
watch kid's shows or listen to kid's music. engaging with content from your childhood, specifically, may be extra helpful!
baby yourself! it may feel weird at first, but try saying things like "i'm so small", "i'm just a little kid/toddler/baby", "i'm too young to worry about big kid stuff", etc.
if possible, find a caregiver! this is not necessary at all, but it can be helpful. it isn't always easy to find a caregiver, and you need to be extra careful about finding someone you trust.
eat and drink snacks associated with kids! goldfish, milk, animal crackers, and apple slices are all good
get some agere gear to associate with regressing! this can be pacis, sippy cups, bottles, stuffies, cute outfits, blankets, etc.
baby talk and/or babble. baby talking can feel strange at first, so it may feel more comfortable to just babble!
how do i know when i'm regressed? 🪐
there's different levels of regression (partly and fully), and there are also different ages (baby, toddler, child, + teen), so it can be a bit confusing! some signs you're regressed:
you're finding it difficult to type or talk normally
children's content is much more appealing than it typically is
you're having issues understanding more complex topics
your personality changes: you may feel more sensitive, bubbly, bratty, needy, dependent etc
you feel the need or desire to be taken care of
certain actions, like coloring in between the lines, become more difficult
tips for first-time caregivers 🌙
ask your little what kind of care they need! some littles like really gentle cgs, others like strict cgs who set rules, etc. if they aren't sure, try out different things and see what you both enjoy!
do activities with them! you can color, watch shows, play (online) games, or read to them
some littles like being baby talked to, others don't. ask first!
don't be afraid to remind them to do things. set a bedtime (with prior consent), make sure they're eating, help remind them to chores (then reward them!), etc
ask what petnames they prefer, and let them know what you want to be called!
overall 🌠
don't stress about regressing! it'll happen, i promise.
it's ok if you can't buy agere gear. you are not any less valid of a regressor because of it!
it's also ok if you don't have a cg. tons of littles don't, you don't need one to regress (:
good luck, and have fun, kiddo!

Introvert meets Extrovert
(A/N): This was requested by an anon. I hope you enjoy it, Sweetheart :)
Summary: How does life for Spencer look like with an extremely extroverted baby?
Warnings: mentions of drinking alcohol
✨Masterlist✨ ____________________________________
To Spencer, it was always clear as day that a child doesn’t inherit all, or even specific, character traits of their parents. After all it’s a complete new human being, not a shift+c shift+v programme line. Still, some things come out as a shock to him, now being the father to a one year old baby.
“Baby, are you excited to go to Auntie JJ’s for Henry’s birthday party? She told me at work that Micheal is thrilled to play with you again!” Spencer talks to his daughter and kicks her legs in the air to get a laugh out of her while changing her diaper. Even though they are in the middle of potty training and he already packed an extra set of clothes for her in case (Y/N) throws an (admittedly understandable) fit about wearing a diaper in the day, he wants to prevent any incidents and meltdowns because of wet clothes. After all, he still has to get her to go to the toilet and sit her down, because she may feel the need, but postpone it when she is busy playing.
“Yes”, she giggles and puts her balled fists into her mouth. Spencer smiles, adoration written all over his face. The bliss of moments like these remind him that the struggles he went through and will go through are all worth it. Worth to see her smile, hear her laugh, listen to her proclamation of love between baby gibberish.
The father puts a pair of her playpants on, which is essentially a pair of leggings that already has a few holes and various stains on them. It wont be a problem if they get dirtier, he will just throw them out after this day. It’s not like his baby girl doesn’t have enough clothes, especially with Penelope Garcia as an aunt and Emily Prentiss as a godmother. You may not believe this, but going shopping for baby/toddler articles brings the agent more fun than she dares to admit.
Not long after putting (Y/N)’s last sock on, the small family is on their way to the party. Spencer tries to manage his way through the subway station with his little one in one arm and pushing a stroller at the same time. Somehow he gets onto a train without causing any altercations and sits down on a bank with a sigh. He puts (Y/N) back into her stroller and straps her in. Despite her age she can be a wiggly monster and when her father isn’t paying attention for a few seconds she may sit right next to him. It has to be some kind of magic.
“Ok Sweetheart. We are riding this train for five stations. Do you want your book for entertainment?” Excitedly the baby claps and makes happy noises. Smiling at her antics, Spencer fishes a child book from his satchel and puts it on the table attached to the stroller before cracking his own open.
While getting lost in it, little (Y/N) takes a look around and sees a few people throwing her smiley faces. Audience, that’s good. In a semi dramatic fashion she tries to clear her throat, just like the people who held these big speeches her father took her with him. Then she opens the book and begins to “read” it. In reality it’s just a bit of baby gibberish with a few short sentences the girl memorized from Spencer reading it over and over again to her. What can she say, it’s her favorite book.
“Excuse me”, a nice looking lady interrupts Spencer’s continuous page turning, “This little one of yours really is such a sweetheart. I’m sure she got that outgoing personality from her momma.” The father throws a glance towards his daughter, spotting her being the entertainer she is since day one.
He smiles at the mention of her mother. “Not really, nobody knows where she got that. Nonetheless, it brightens my day.” After a look at the sign that shows the next stops, he gives the woman an apologetic look. “I’m really sorry to cut this short, but we have to get off now.” She assures him that it’s fine and compliments his parenting before the train stops and Spencer maneuvers the stroller off.
On their way to the Jareau-LaMontagne house (Y/N) keeps herself entertained by singing rather loudly songs her babysitter taught her. Her father kind of ducks away under all of the “aaaws” and loving glances he gets. Getting this kind of attention is not something he enjoys, but endures because his daughter loves it.
Finally they arrive and the birthday party is in full swing. Spencer gets her out of the stroller and puts (Y/N) down at the first patch of grass. Immediately she crawls up to Micheal, while her father greets JJ, Will and the rest of his colleagues.
“Hello (Y/N)”, Emily gushes, kneeling down to be more on the same eye level with her goddaughter. “You got sooo big, can you please stop growing,” She throws the baby a dirty look, who squeals and goes up to her aunt. Of course the agent picks the child up and the little one strikes up a conversation out of baby gibberish and a few actual words while playing with her raven black hair.
Against everyone’s beliefs, Emily really is interested in what (Y/N) has to say, even though she doesn’t understand half the things. Still, she tries to engage in the conversation (Spencer also appreciates it, because it’s improving her speaking skills).
While all the kids, Henry and his friends as well as the two babies/toddlers, play, the adults prepare dinner and talk about the things that happened recently. Especially their children’s (or godchildren’s) milestones are swept between them and gushed at.
“I don’t know where she got it,” Spencer starts and tells the story of his daughter being an entertainer for everyone on the train. It’s always a good laugh around them hearing about the youngest Reid and her extrovertness.
“Maybe she was swapped at the hospital?” Derek muses before taking a sip from his beer. Another laugh. “That’s not possible”, Rossi counters, “Boy Genius over there watched her the whole time like a hawk. There is no chance she was mistaken. He was there every step the doctors took with that girl in their arms outside the room.”
“Also, she has so many of his character traits, there is no use in denying her, Reid”, Hotch says with his signature Small-Smile. Spencer laughs, knowing that his friends are right. “You know, something like that doesn’t have to be passed down genetically. It’s just how some kids are and I think it suits her. It makes (Y/N) (Y/N).”
Just as he ends his sentence, he spots his child playing with some of Henry’s friends, despite their age difference. This makes the father smile.
They may be two ends of the same stick, but that’s ok. Not everybody is the same and it makes them love each other even more.

Here is a forever updating list of ‘fun’ arguments that Boromir and Theodred manage to keep hashing out for the entire 30 years of their acquaintance, many of which well predate them being in a romantic relationship;
- Where does a dagger go? Boromir, as a man who semi-regularly has to go to sea and engage in sea-warfare, keeps a dirk strapped to his chest so that if he is tangled in rope as his ship is sinking he can easily reach it and cut himself free. Theodred says this is pirate behaviour and completely unnecessary (if not downright absurd) all the rest of the time one is not on a ship. Which is a lot, he points out. Boromir casually holds daggers between his teeth at times just to irritate him.
- Lacing boots Gondor and Rohan already have widely varying makes for boots, including materials used to make them, but the pair still manage to find specific preferred ways of lacing, belting or binding their boots that they will fight to the death about.
- Sweet bread vs cake One of the cultural imports from Rohan into Gondor were heavy sweetened breads of various types. These were called sweet breads in Gondor. Theodred says they’re all cakes. Boromir can’t stand it.
- to write or not to write Now, this is an interesting one. Gondor is an incredibly literary country, every child is literate. Rohan, almost stubbornly, has refrained from even creating a writing system for their language and is entirely illiterate. Boromir and Theodred prefer the other’s way. Boromir will reminisce on how he’d bloody well prefer everyone just memorised things. Theodred will grind his teeth as everyday he prays he could just write one person a note.
- are swan knights bad riders? discuss Theodred is absolutely scornful of Gondor’s horsemanship and, specifically, the Swan Knights. Boromir consistently has to fight for the idea that the Swan Knights aren’t MEAN’T to be movable, its an entirely different kind of cavalry. Theodred remains frustratingly unconvinced.
- Is it good or bad to be named after someone? Boromir insists he likes the practice of naming children after their forebears or important people from history. Theodred, a man from a culture that seemingly never reuses names on purpose, thinks that’s absolutely bananas. Everytime they’re shot at he tells Boromir to be careful of that wasting disease. This dark humour makes everyone who gets it cringe, except Boromir, who’s very annoyed about how funny it is.
- Your country is a baby ‘my country is 500 years old’ a toddler. Boromir will call Rohan a child nation sometimes but only to annoy Theodred. ‘Barely out of the cradle’ he’ll say. And if Theodred tries to argue all Boromir has to bring up is Gondor’s 3000 years of existence. Theodred will complain about the Thanes being particularly intractable or querulous and Boromir will say something to the effect of ‘Time for Rohan’s nap then’ and he’ll get hit.
- Was Numenor real? Are you sure? This is not genuine but at some point Theodred discovered that there are small but loud sections of Gondor society that believe Numenor didn’t exist and was a fabrication. Since learning this he has decided to pretend he believes them literally just to drive Boromir completely up the wall, mainly because he’s being forced to take FARAMIR’S side in something. Mortifying.
