I eat a lot of dishes that are made with it, and actually, on February 28th, the day of my community (Andalucía), our typical Andalusian breakfast consists of bread with olive oil and sugar 😁 And I absolutely LOVE it, best breakfast ever 🤤 I've had to adapt myself because of being celiac, you know, but I'm glad I can still have my favorite breakfast on that date. yo whats up everyone

I opened up my huge folder of unfinished WIPs (all Tsubasa-related) and lo and behold, I feel energized and interested in working on (at least) one of them. Which one to work on, this is the problem.

if anybody is still following me who CARES about my writing fanfiction, you should help me pick the WIP I should make some progress on. I actually have more than what I put on the poll, but I've only listed the ones I feel like I would want to work on, not every WIP I've ever had.

*Kurogane has two hands, etc.

**Ghost story: It's literally the first scene, so this is not really a spoiler: Kurogane dies in a fight before Tomoyo can send him on the journey. She and Yuuko connect with Holitsuba-verse because that's the only one where there's a healthy and sane version of Kurogane available, and they need HIM to go on the journey in place of ninja!Kurogane. He's like "I am a gym teacher and you want me to help you save the multiverse with what??? My dodgeball skills????"

***Raise Me Up (please god let me think of a better title, this one no longer feels right) is like, probably 30% already written??? I had six complete chapters and a huge pile of other scenes done when I abandoned it?)

Okay. So. Story time.

Imagine you're a girl (who will eventually be not-a-girl-but-it's-good-enough and queer) in middle school. You've been reading fanfiction for a year or so now1 and, with all the audacity only a thirteen year old can have, you consider yourself fairly well versed in the intricacies of those websites.

Recently, however, you've been getting disillusioned with the selection of fics available to you: you can guess almost every single plot beat ahead of time, it's hard to find exactly what you're looking for, and, quite honestly, you're bored of it. You still read it of course, something is better than nothing after all, but you can feel yourself yearning for something different.

And then, by some miracle (in the form of someone you rarely talk to and the girls locker room), you learn of AO3 and this? this right here? it feels like your holy grail. There are so many stories! It's so easy to filter things!2. And all that boredom you felt? Well, it's gone.

Now. Let me tell you something about AO3. Most of the ways to filter only provide a set number of tags to choose from3 or specific options that are available there4. The only thing that's different is the language filter which provides you with a drop down menu with all the languages you can choose from5 sorted in alphabetical order. This is all to say, you're already paying attention to this because it's different from the rest of the filter system and, just by virtue of the way it's set up, the options are slightly smaller so it's much more likely that you'll misclick and choose the wrong language.

Let's skip forward a couple months, to the point where you've gained the muscle memory of how far to scroll and where to click to choose English, but not quite enough for scrolling too far and missing it to be uncommon. At that time, the two languages right below "English" were "Español" and "Esperanto"6. Being a curious youngster (ie. you had to know everything already or else you were a failure), you knew what Spanish was, but not Esperanto. You knew it sounded familiar and that it was something European but not from the north or east7.

So you go ahead and look it up. At this point, you have absolutely no idea about conlangs beyond whatever Tolkien did and that making up a language sounds neat. And learning that Esperanto was created specifically to be a "neutral"8 language is music to your "if we could only just talk to each other things would be fine" ears.

Anyway, story time over lmao. While that's about as far as my first foray into conlanging as a medium (for lack of a better word ig?) went, I remain vaguely interested and, eventually, I learned way more about it. So here I am. Writing this even though there's prob other things I should be doing lmao.

Im really curious how people know about Esperanto. Since its a relatively recent language (from the 1880s), its obviously not going to be as widely spoken in the world as other languages (altho apparently it is the most widely spoken constructed language). I assume most people are introduced to it later in some way?

i was wondering what is your favorite of the four ships between charles/shaw, charles/kurt, erik/shaw, and erik/kurt? i've seen you write all of them before iirc and was wondering which is your favorite to write and why :D (also, if you want to ramble, your thoughts on each of them!)

also as a separate question, i was very surprised at raven being charles' daughter with jakob in your most recent fic - but totally loved it, like i said. i was wondering do you have any thoughts about them in an au where they would have that mother-daughter relationship, or was it purely just "wouldn't it be hot if-"? lowkey i cannot stop thinking about it because their relationship is already so deep and complex in canon with the parentified older brother and pseudo-incest little sister vibes without adding the sacred bond of motherhood that makes it so much more personal and special into the mix. and now i want more of raven being charles' bio daughter and exploring that bond from an incest standpoint and there is none aaaaaaa. :(

(btw have you seen game of thrones? because the family setup in it kind of reminded me of craster's keep in a dirtybadwrongawesome way and now i have icky brainworms :D)

Hello Darling Anon! So happy to hear from you (always!) and sorry it took a while to reply - it's been a busy week :D Hope you're doing well!!!

So out of these four pairings (charles/shaw, charles/kurt, erik/shaw, and erik/kurt) my favourite to read/write is definitely erik/shaw! I'm fascinated by their dynamic and I wish we'd gotten more scenes between them in xmfc. Their 'relationship' drives so much of Erik's motivations and his world view that I could spend forever thinking about the sizeable imprint that man leaves on Erik's psyche (their scenes in the sub, and especially the line 'I'd like you to know that I agree with every word you said' does a LOT of heavy lifting omg). I like digging into the potential of charles/kurt too, though there's very little source material available to leverage (just a bit of comic lore and fanon really) for inspiration :(

Re: Prized Possession, I think I just thought - 'what would be a really messy situation to put Charles in?' and decided making Raven his daughter would be a very good start lol. Also I've always enjoyed Charles/Raven stories so the idea of it was already appealing. If you're at all interested, I also have a verse similar to this one with omega!Erik and alpha!Shaw Legacy of Sin that you might enjoy!!!

What gives your personal interpretation any authority? Why would the Holy Spirit choose you specifically to be the person who interprets the Bible correctly compared to the 2000 or so years of other churches?

It's not "my personal interpretation".. i actually pulled out Bible verses to back up what I said you definitely didn't check out.

If anything, those disagreeing with me are those hellbent on their own far-fetched interpretation. I'm actually the one endorsing a Christ like behavior: against violence, refusing to act like some people were beyond repentance, sticking to God commandments (not adding anything to the Word), etc... A few days ago someone told me "how can you be pro life if you're anti gun violence???" I— YEAH, that's precisely because I'm pro LIFE that I value life and consider no one is entitled to take the life of someone else. Only God has this prerogative. "Vengeance belongs to HIM" and Him only. That's in the Bible - that's not an interpretation of mine.

And God didn't chose me: I have the Holy Spirit - Spirit of truth and discernment that's available for every authentic God children since as far humanity exists (this is the same Spirit in the Old Testament that inspired people into prophetizing about the coming of the Messiah for example).

Christian communities from 2000 years ago (who btw didn't have a Bible but only the Holy Spirit) definitely have more in common with what I preach than belligerent gun toting modern Christian nationalists.

Christians from the early church never resorted to violence while being shoved to the lions to be eaten alive, burned at the stale, crucified, etc. They didn't have the Bible yet walked right with God because they heard Him by having the holy spirit. The contrast with today's Christians who cannot bear with the slightest inconvenience without threatening with violence is stark.

My views are far from being iconoclast : tumblr is pathologically US centric so people like you are shook by what I say, but my views are actually shared by MANY Christians in the world. Only idolatrous USAmericans hellbent in using guns and murdering others would be remotely scandalized by authentic Christian peacefulness.

And the fact that God still answers to my prayers and talk to me shows that He approves what I'm doing. The Holy Spirit convicts me in being right. I'm very secure about what I preach, that's why I'm not remotely moved by those attacking me.

MC having the monster of all periods and all the boys or in the middle of it. And when I say the monster of all I mean it. Everything is happening. Clots, bloating, zits/pimples, PAIN, nausea, heat, anger, emotions going crazy, fatigue, headaches, back pain, insomnia, BLOOD, anxiety, aggression, food cravings, irritability, muscle pains and all the other gross and painful shit we have to deal with every month. How do they survive/react

This personally hits home for me 😔.

Before I was on my birth control, I had periods 24/7, all year. I know it's gross, but at my worst I went through 7 of those overnight pads in an hour. I had to go to the hospital for it (And then proceeded to get called a drama queen by a doctor). My cramps were horrible, and man, I still have bad periods but not nearly as bad as that. This is going to be a bit "gross" (Because despite how comfortable we can be discussing them, and how natural the process is, you can still be a bit grossed out by it. I mean blood by itself isn't bad, but sometimes it's like you give birth to placenta and that's pretty gross) but it's also hella fluffy.

Lucifer.

Very unbothered by periods. Out of any natural body process, it's probably the one that bothers him the least.

He pretty much treats it the same as any other basic need. Every bathroom has toiletries that he's got placed in some neat little box and their medications in any available cabinet.

But that's pretty much all he thought was needed.

When he realizes just how bad your periods are, he's a little under prepared. The household isn't exactly equipped to handle this situation, so he, and a few of his brothers (particularly Asmodeus and Mammon), scramble to gather whatever items might be needed from the various corners of the house.

Lucifer grabs you towels for your bed, in case you're the type to bleed through during the night. He finds you a heating pad, rub-on muscle relief creams, and a multitude of pain meds that exceed the typical Midol relief.

He can get a little peeved about your attitude, but knows that you can't really help it. So he'll grin and bare it, and accepts the fact that you're going to be a bit different until this is done.

Mammon

He's not extremely well-versed in the topic of menstruation.

However, I think this is one of those topics that despite not understanding, he automatically is incredibly accommodating.

There's lots of cuddles, lots of playing with your hair, and a lot of nonsensicle rambling that is mostly comforting (but sometimes headache inducing).

He is a little weird about bleeding through though. Not in a bad "You're disgusting" way, but more of a "I'm extremely confused as to what I'm supposed to do in this situation" way.

Thankfully he becomes pretty quick at just wrapping his jacket around you in public if you do start to leak.

He does think a cold wet rag is the secret to everything lmao.

At least it takes away from the hot flashes!

Leviathan

He might be a little embarrassed when there are obvious signs of a period (like blood or toiletries), but otherwise he handles it normally.

Levi doesn't point out your acne. He doesn't mention when you leak onto his sheets during the night. He won't call you out for being a bit more aggressive then usual (or even crying, because sometimes that's just all you can do).

All he does is just be a silent support. It's a nice break from the others tbh.

Like when you're in the bathroom, turn between feeling like you're going to throw up because your contraction-like cramps are wrecking havoc on your entire body, he'll be beside you. Stroking your back, holding up your hair incase you do vomit, and running around for whatever you need.

Definitely the type who, when you ask him to pick up pad/tampons, grabs every size and brand, puts them in the cart as discreetly as possible, then rushes home in a frenzy.

Satan

Satan is just as irritable during your period as you are lmao.

He's absolutely understanding, sure, but I think he feeds off of anger. So the minute you start getting pissy, he does too.

It's like a sympathy period thing, but uh, more linked to his sin then anything else.

Everyone is absolutely tired of you two squabbling by the end of your cycle.

Someone probably tries to lock one of you away tbh. You two are just extremely annoying.

It's even worse that after every fight you guys just cuddle. Like nothing ever happened. And everyone else is just kinda left there tense as hell because you two were arguing over fucking fruit for no reason.

Asmodeus

He's kinda like a big sister in this situation.

Asmodeus will give you acne treatments, run baths for you (always makes sure you don't worry about cleaning out the tub!), and gives you massages that sometimes get a bit spicy (But he always makes sure you're okay to handle it).

Yeah, I'll say it, Asmodeus isn't scared of period sex.

This is like the one time of the month he actually breaks his "strict" diet and junks out with you.

Cue lots of food photos! And a few that he sneaks of you for his personal folder. Expect to see your rather bloated self as a part of his aesthetically set up phone background. He thinks it's cute!!

A lot of body worship and praise is going down. Between him and Beel it's enough to make your head spin.

Beelzebub

This is like prime Beel time.

Cuddles, food, and massages are his speciality.

(Also not opposed to period sex but tbh he's like, extremely concerned about your well being the entire time.)

He's like, always kneading your muscles and thighs. Whenever you get self-conscious about your pre-period or period body, he'll always be ready to lay down a thick layer of praises that seem almost too good to be true.

Always let's you finish the snacks ❤

He gets you heat and cold packs. Well, tries. Somewhere along the line he gets distracted and tends to come back with cold peas instead of a ice pack. Works the same way, just, uh, food driven.

Beel is extremely calm during this whole thing. He rarely ever gets offended by your emotions or aggression either. Probably just pats your head and walks away when you're getting a bit too much for him to handle.

Belphegor

He is like, the biggest fucking asshole, but like in the funniest way.

Genieunly doesn't care about toiletries or whatever, but he's so blunt about it

anyway, the actual point: i’m doing a soft reboot/refresh for this multi.

this includes a new blog with different url, new gdocs with updated information, new organization, clean slate for following, all that fun stuff. and it’s been coming for awhile, as its something i’ve discussed doing on and off at various points, but really it comes down to needing to refresh my own stuff to feel comfy here again. 

 a lot has changed in dumblr rp, especially after the mega-crash that followed IW and EG releasing. this community has been around for a long time, and i’m hoping it’ll stay around, but there comes a point with canon material (this is for every fandom btw, having been thru quite a few) that it Peaks and then dramatically drops off for whatever reasons. and i need to adjust myself and my approach on here if i want to keep writing my muses and keep writing with people, which i have been very reluctant to do, as anyone who has known me the whole time or a long time can tell you.

i thought it was a step i had at least sorta taken when i deleted a bunch of my archives/old solo blogs. but it didn’t. not really. that was my choosing to not give myself a way to back into having a million blogs again, so i could try to focus here and in having everyone in one place. that was part of my process of allowing myself to fully embrace being a multi, and adding to the fact i could more easily craft separate spaces by having my muses separated by fandom for a total of a few blogs rather than 30+.

but i’ve spent so long on here that i realized something: i hadn’t actually gone over my own rules and disclaimer information in a HOT minute. just copy & pasting from myself to set stuff up quickly and kinda keep organized. and some of that needed editing, updating, removing, the works.

and my alternate timeline? listen, i love that project. but at some point i got so set in going THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED ACTUALLY that i stopped allowing spaces for being able to wiggle around with other people and their timelines, their muses, their crafted spaces. i was cutting potential partners and current partners off, i was limiting myself, by sticking more and more rigidly to the timeline (which i’m going to keep in a doc somewhere but i’m not making it the Main Point anymore). universe 77483 is my baby, i’m proud of it, i love it. but its so categorically huge and overwhelming that it’s more suited to say fic worldbuilding than for rp worldbuilding.

i have a lot of headcanons that, honestly, same thing: i’ve been copy/pasting from myself for years and not really reading over the information anymore. its just rote movement of text thrown into the tags. and i stopped writing verses because i was bogging myself down with other elements, and getting caught on needing them to be perfect rather than letting them be blurbs to serve as baselines.

somewhere along the line, i genuinely got sidetracked from the crafting and writing with other people part, and focused on the detail-building and setting up things like i’m the only one writing or involved. rp is not a solo project, and i am dealing with the repercussions of behaving like its one. my dash slowed down because i did. my threads dwindled because i stopped reaching out as much, stopped being as available or open to things, beacuse i focused on the wrong aspects. that is entirely on me and my choices, my behavior.

so this reboot is needed, desperately. my attitude and approach needs to change from what it was, because that wasn’t working. i’m hoping that this, that acknowledging that i chose wrongly and repeatedly, will bring back the joy i’ve had and the joy i miss in writing with all the lovely people out here. i miss the energy and enthusiasm i would have here.

The (delicately implied) monsterfucker is further down if you want to skip. Like Arthur MacArthur, he only seems polite about it.  At last, I am (physically) free of the day job, but…uh…wow. The recovery might take a while. I’ve worked for corporations, with bosses that literally gave me panic attacks. I got fired once at a small business because I wasn’t nice enough to a rich lady. (This is true. I literally was not nice enough to a friend of the owner’s wife. I was nice. Just not nice enough.) I think, with this place, in addition to Covid and all the fires and floods and the very American business expectation that you will just keep working no matter what is going on around you, the way this place, which prided itself on being more mom-and-pop/small business than corporate, but still was fine regularly exhausting me, took a little more from me emotionally than an impersonal corporation would have. A boss, and coworkers, who like to think and say that things are friendly and good, while content to use me up, is just… something I am still dealing with. Part of this is, I think, a particular thing that happens to people-pleasers (a term I hate because it’s not accurate. Emotion-managers fits better, to me.) and ND people, and like, oldest daughters with oldest daughter traumas, and well, basically anyone who masks their responses/emotions in public and who will Get the Work Done regardless of what is happening because of their own history and needs telling them they should. Those sort of people (myself included) are easy for workplaces to take advantage of. Some workplaces not even realize they are doing it. Though some definitely do. (And I should include families and friend groups as well as workplaces, but today, I am talking about shitty jobs, so.) All of this sort of ties in with a bunch of personal issues I’ve been dealing with (*cough* not dealing with *cough*) and which I am still processing. (I am sure it will show up in future stories. Lol. Just what we need. More Clematis-levels of trauma in our happy banging fairies and werewolves fiction.) But anyway, with that and grief and pandemic everything…I am still not working as quickly as I would like. This is okay, they tell me. Rest is good, I know. It just…is another personal issue I am working on. But I want to thank you all for your well wishes and encouragement! <3  Onward to story stuff!

I recently (yesterday) put up a free story on my Patreon. A Beings Verse AU for Vincent’s Thanksgiving Date (which btw is free/reader sets the price on Smashwords) I was exhausted from just leaving my day job on my birthday, so the birthday short was truly short this year. But you can find it on my Patreon or on my tumblr. The Honeybee and the Bear, a Bartleby/Piotr arranged marriage AU which is vaguely historical. I also lowered the price on the Familiar Spirits ebooks, and the paperback on its way. Any day now, really. The new paperback has all three stories, A Little Familiar, Holly and Oak, and Nothing More Certain, plus three accompanying shorts, along with a whole new cover. I will probably get rid of the single paperbacks because they were an experiment and I do not like the look of them. Also, this is a shameless and repetitive plug, but the audiobook for A Little Familiar is available at all the audiobook places. No, it has not earned back the cost of production yet, which is why whenever people ask me about more audiobooks, I will say this. (I would love to do more audiobooks. Okay. Into bigger news. Yes, I did start a new Beings book a few months ago, but I stopped for a while to work on a smaller winter release project because the Beings book (being a full novel) will take a while. I am four chapters in, jsyk. Progress is being made. Now, the winter project. I am hoping to get this out after Christmas. Maybe shortly before but probably after. It is not even remotely Christmas-related, don’t worry. It's when you are a pushing 30, bookish, nerdy sheep-man with hormonal issues, who foolishly leaves the house to go get laid, only to run into that coworker who makes you feel things you do not understand but which are obviously terrible and not at all sexy or adoring, and then discover he was actually out hunting a terrible monster who has now taken a liking to YOU and uh oh, guess that coworker has to protect you now. Also there might be a hint of found family perhaps... you know how I am.  Wait. That might be better than the dumb official synopsis I am still working on. …….. Oh well. It’s still a work in progress, but to give you a taste… (ahaha that is sort of joke. Nevermind. Sorry.) The title is Ravenous. Oops. Forgot that part.

Ravenous Those who come back from the Realm, if they come back, are changed. That is why children are taught to never go near a Ring and to never listen to what the Rings whisper. Some return haunted. Others, for reasons unknown, come back seemingly untouched, with the magic of the Realm at their disposal. The peculiari, as these few are called, can venture to and from the Realm without consequence, but are tolerated at best, feared at worst, for being as potentially monstruous as anything else that dwells there. Nicodemus has never stepped into a Ring. As an asterion, an unwanted child of the Realm, some might expect him to, but, for the most part, he is content to keep house for the peculiari of the Arawn Agency and rarely ventures outside of the manor they all call home. Asterion are also thought of as monsters, and Nicodemus, human in appearance except for the ram’s horns growing from his head, prefers the company of those who do not judge him. There’s just one little problem. One awkward, inconvenient, twice-a-year problem in which Nicodemus goes into what can humiliatingly only be called a rut. It’s a secret he keeps from the others. But this year, unable to stand the thought of spending his rut alone, he ventures into town in search of company—only to run into a familiar face. One of the Arawn Agency peculiari, Bel is powerful and fearsome enough to make even other peculiari wary, and far more experienced than Nicodemus in the ways of the world. But tonight, raffish, licentious Bel isn’t out seeking pleasure. He’s on the hunt for a creature that has slithered out of the Realm to hurt people, a true monster. According to Bel, the Realm lures people who want, and sheltered, lonely Nicodemus, with his rut approaching, is nothing but want. If he can’t get Nicodemus to safety, the best way for anyone to stay protected from the temptations of the Realm is to indulge themselves enough to make their wants manageable. But, alone with Bel for the first time, Nicodemus starts to wonder why it is that Bel understands the appetites of a monster so well, and what it is that Bel wants, and if perhaps Nicodemus should follow Bel’s advice and indulge some desires of his own.

...It sounds sexier than it is probably. One of the things that is good (more readers) is sometimes worrisome to me because readers who are used to me sort of know what to expect, and newer readers… well… do not and are often not happy. But then, to quote peepeethecat, I Amn just…….. a litle creacher. Thatse it. I Canot change  this. After Ravenous, and the Familiar Spirits paperback being out, I go back to the big thing, *fingers crossed* and maybe, maaaaybe, a smol charity thing in December. But that really all depends on my brain. (Oh also, I was gonna do a Patreon thing for patrons this year but this year has been… this year. So it will likely be January or February next year. It’s a small thing but I’m gonna do it, I swear!)

[OM!] (American) College!AU Demon Brothers

Scenario: Headcanons on the demon brothers as college students (specifically in the US because I don’t know how college works elsewhere), their possible majors, career goals, extracurriculars, ~GPA~ and whatever else I could think of + how meet you in college

Note: I’m hoping to do a Part 2 with the Undateables but honestly… we’ll see lol. This is based off something ~A~ and I thought of for our specific university but we’ve made it broad enough to share HAHA this turned out VERY long

- 

Lucifer

Majoring in Political Sciences with a minor in Psychology

Pre-Law-- most likely immigration law or child custody (there’s definitely a backstory here)

Initially went to community college for the first two years to save up money to take care of his younger siblings

Rejected an offer to go to an Ivy League because it was too expensive; if his siblings ever found out they’d be furious that he’d give up on that chance, but he knows he can succeed wherever he goes (and besides, family is first) 

Transferred into a 4-year university his junior year 

Very high GPA-- VERY

In a professional fraternity with Diavolo and Barbatos 

He didn’t think he’d join one either but Diavolo was the vice chair when he transferred in and the president the year after so… ~nepotism?~ and also Lucifer is charming as heck so no surprise he’d get in

Also rooms with Diavolo and Barbatos

Goes to the gym regularly just to keep fit; gets goaded by Diavolo and Satan into joining an IM team with his frat brothers and actual brothers-- probably basketball or flag football

Probably meets you at a interclub council meeting and mutters under his breath how useless the board members are and you overhear 

“Never have I met more incompetent people.”

“Lmao mood”

Keeps sitting next to you at every interclub meeting then after because at least there’s someone that can keep his mind stimulated (thinks you’re hot if you’re competent btw)

If you somehow meet him on campus, he’s the type of guy to put his hand up and pretend he didn’t see you (just kidding, he always ends up saying hi anyways) 

Will Absolutely Lecture You if you are procrastinating on studying especially if your midterm is, like, TOMORROW

Always ends up studying with him because he’s actually focused on studying and glares at you if you get distracted (but hey you get good scores in the end)

Mammon

Majoring in Business Econ/Economics, Minoring in Statistics

(always ends up in the middle of the “is econ a humanities or a STEM major” debate that leaves him left for dead) 

Planning to work in Business as Finance -- probably has been treasurer or finance director for a club; can even see him being a banker if it suits his plans better

Goes to a four-year university

Decent GPA (or Lucifer would absolutely destroy him), and does REALLY well in mathematics classes

Would room with Lucifer and his posse if they all go to the same school 

Probably in a Business Frat as well because he’s pretty charismatic when it comes down to it but  was an RA for some of his years for the free rooming and dining hall privileges 

Is a very chill and understanding RA (as in he smokes weed with you when he’s off-duty) but is surprisingly well-versed in dealing with roommate issues

Works part-time (gasp) to buy stuff off of Amazon and go out to places 

Spends a lot of time exploring places with his friends, going hiking, rock-climbing, clubbing-- which is expensive, as it turns out, so he needed to be able to afford it somehow

Meets you when you’re eating your lunch outside somewhere and he asks you if you have a dollar he could borrow for a vending machine snack

You exchange numbers with him so he can pay it back (even though you honestly don’t really need it, but why not) and turns out he’s in your GE class

“Heyyy wassup! So glad I have a friend in this class” 

“Oh by the way, did you finish the homework? Haha, I forgot it.” 

Mammon always repays you for your help in food though so you aren’t complaining

Leviathan

Majoring in Computer Sciences

And honestly that’s too much for me already-- the man is doing computer programming, coding-- WHEW-- and they do NOT rest

Goes to a community college but honestly has no problems cinching internships. The computer is his domain-- online applications are EASY, doing projects NOT as easy, interviews? HARD-- REALLY HARD (someone help him)

Probably intends to work with a big company like Google if only to help supply his income so he can live his life going to AX and buying merch 

Most likely moved out of his house mid-college with his online friends (who are luckily compatible with him living-space wise) and visits home once a week 

There’s two potential sides you can meet first: 

Either you meet him at a convention and you both gush about the same character and anime and somehow find each other online (not college related) 

Or his favorite Ruri-chan keychain gets broken off in the computer lab, and you’re the one running after him to give it him

He may or may not owe you his life after that (and if you enjoy anime, well that’s a bonus)

Both of these meetings can happen if he doesn’t recognize you in class because you were in cosplay-- imagine the surprise

The two of you as friends are MASTER PROCRASTINATORS at every assignment the two of you have-- so low-key not a great influence-- but you have fun together watching animes, playing games, talking about life-- anything but actual work 

Always ends up scrambling to finish things-- but he keeps doing it because it’s been working for him so far

You help him prepare for interviews because he’s always nervous before each one regardless of how well his application looks

Satan

Majoring in Comparative Literature AND Anthropology (ya boy is doing the whole nine yards)

Planning to get his Master’s and then a PhD in one of his majors (whichever proves to be more engaging for him)-- visibly excited to become a Professor

College was meant for Satan-- like REALLY; the man is in LOVE with learning; most likely to go and be accepted to an Ivy-League after Lucifer but... truly believes you can get a good education anywhere so it depends on his financial standing (and how much scholarship he gets)

Does get a little disgruntled when his classes aren’t available but doesn’t mind learning something new-- if the professor bores him to death, he’ll read the book

Really good at tutoring people; someone suggests that he works as a peer-learning facilitator/writing tutor and he does-- might as well make bank doing something you always do anyways   

Joins a writing/journal club as an extracurricular and a club that provides tutoring services to the underserved community-- surprisingly good with kids!

He knows friends in high places, so if he wanted to, could get into any party without batting an eye and his favorite professors love him

Spends a lot of his time going out to the city and exploring places, similarly to Mammon, rock-climbing, hiking, paragliding-- anything

He is VERY well-rounded as you can see; competes with Lucifer to see whose GPA is better though

You probably meet him during office hours, and you can only stare in awe as he asks questions that you had in mind, but better; if you’re visibly confused about something, he’ll take his time to help you too (it’s habit at this point)

Ask him for his contact info and you’ll get it, and maybe repay him in coffee? (You always see him at the cafe on campus.) 

Most likely to have a specific spot in a cafe that he is always at that the workers actually save a spot for him or give him his usual order before he even arrives-- may or may not have helped them edit their essays or with their homework as a thank-you so you KNOW they’ll love him forever

The type of person to help you make flashcards and cram if you need it

Asmodeus

Majoring in Dance and Fine Arts (I HC going to NYU specifically)

Considering going for an Master of Fine Arts degree but he might just move to New York and go for being a Broadway Star

College is mainly just training for him and hoping to land gigs in local theater-- and the university theater if there is one-- and building his resume for his big break 

Has SO many extracurriculars, all pertaining to his career choice, but also because he enjoys what he does: drama, competitive dance team, acapella, fashion design

Makes an unbelievable amount of friends, incredibly good at networking

The first time you saw him was when he was performing for a local theater and you were in love with his performance, and the next time you saw him in the hallway of a classroom building, you told him how much you enjoyed it

Always accepts compliments about his looks with grace, but there’s something about truly being admired for his acting and singing that has him preening

Invites you to come out to his next performance, and if not his, then to another play-- and it can be a date, but up to you ;) 

The man is the KING of Multiple Talents and has big dreams to match 

Always finds a way to hang out with you and drag you to every club that he can use his fake-id for (and when he’s actually 21 and above, gets a little offended that he doesn’t get ID’d) 

A night in the town with you is always a good night! 

Sometimes when he has practical exams coming up, he asks you to watch him perform-- and he likes your compliments but actually takes getting all the moves seriously so you better pay attention!

Most likely to move far away to reach his dreams, but he would take you with him if he could-- his little star

Beelzebub

Majoring in Physiological Sciences

Pre-Nursing or Pre-Sports Medicine 

He’s a little undecided, but he’s definitely going to go into the health field because he likes the idea of being able to use his strength to help others

Gets a scholarship from the university because he’s part of the football team, which is actually pretty hard on him because Fall Semester/Quarter he has to keep skipping classes for games  

Always brings a snack to eat with him during lecture-- and is not afraid to bring his entire lunch and make it right in the front row, though he tends to stick to the back because they tend to have electrical plugs 

You most likely meet him during lecture: he offers you an entire sandwich (not a chip bag, not fruit snacks, an entire LUNCH) because he heard your stomach growl during class 

From then on, you collect notes for him when he’s gone from games and even go to games if you aren’t usually the type to just to see how he’s doing; it’s hard trying to find you among the huge bleachers, but he always asks you where you’re sitting anyways 

Really appreciate it if you help him study into late at night because it IS hard balancing sports and academics 

He most likely doesn’t really have any time for anything else so he usually makes up for it during the rest of the year when training is less to volunteer in the hospital or at the gym as a personal trainer 

If you ask him to teach you how to properly lift weights, he’ll definitely help out and the both of you can work out together-- though you feel bad when he has to add four extra weights to each side after you finish your reps

Belphegor

Majoring in Computer Graphics/Animation

Intending to go into making animation or game design-- is one of the brothers who doesn’t really know exactly what he wants to do yet because he’s afraid that doing what he loves as a job will ruin it for him

His family reassures him that they’ll support him whether or not he continues with his path in life, but he’s considering art school and then taking internships in places so he has a better idea on what he wants

Most likely to sell his own original work and become a full-time artist regardless

I think you already know how you meet him-- he’s sleeping in a lecture hall-- either against the wall or on the small piece of wood they call a desk when class ends and he’s still sleeping; and you wake him up 

Sleepily thanks you and continues to sleep through every class that you wake him up to; when you ask him why he doesn’t just go home and sleep, he tells you he’s too lazy to walk back and forth from his dorm/apartment to campus (mood) 

When you add each other on Snapchat or something, he sends you pics of ‘places to nap’ on campus

You always end up studying together because he’s actually pretty good at understanding lecture stuff despite not being awake for most of it-- apparently he’s used to teaching himself 

Will make you art for your birthday and will vehemently refuse payment so he just tells you to take him out for dinner instead 

If you talk about how you’re not sure on what you want to do in life too, he’ll probably say ‘mood’ but is most likely to encourage you to do whatever you want to do in life too

BUT: this. “if marriage equality existed at the time, they’d have probably gotten married and toby would’ve had a Crisis about it” WHAT WOULD THIS HAVE BEEN LIKE I WANT MORE OF THIS. i love them so much. i wrote my first cjandy fic and THEY KISSED it was euphoric. ALSO 4x20 IN THIS VERSE. pls talk about any of this, whenever!!

look. not to be that person, but toby is an insecure kind of guy. i love him but he is. he’s sad, and he’s quiet, and you know the reason why andy’s breakup conversation to him (in her dream house, right before she went into labor) broke her heart so much was because she knew how much she was hurting him. he’s used to being alone and he doesn’t LIKE it but i think he’s at the point where he wouldn’t be SURPRISED, you know?

this is all to say that he doesn’t do so great, when everything is tense and cj refuses to even be in the same room as him but will kiss andy in the psycellium for some reason. He Doesn’t Cope So Well, understandably. this is worse in an au where marriage equality exists.

presumably we’re working with an au where marriage equality is at about the same level as it is today -- so couples of varying genders can be legally married, but no polycules. in this case, we have cj less concerned about being seen with andy in public and more concerned with being seen with toby and andy in public. i’m guessing she’s still cagey and therefore the disintegration still happens (honestly, i want to say toby and andy would’ve fallen apart no matter if cj had stayed or not, but that’s a whole other discussion), which means andy is therefore available when cj finds herself living in DC with two (2) acquaintances she doesn’t work with (and the other one is her brother’s college roommate, so the choice is easy).

see i just think andy and cj get along in a way that andy and toby just DON’T. they’re both pragmatic, although cj will get caught up in her emotions if she’s not careful and andy is always ready to drop everything to start a fight. toby isn’t either of those -- toby will just stand his ground for what he believes in, no matter how people try to convince him otherwise, and this is why toby works very well as a second in command and would make a very bad leader in anything besides speechwriting. (i finally talked myself into cj being chief of staff, as you might be able to tell.) (this, btw, still means andy could’ve been the shuttle leaker -- ready to start a fight with the bartlet administration about the pointlessness of military secrets if they can’t use them to save people -- but that’s a whole different issue. the main reason why it makes sense for it to be andy and not toby is that toby is, above all, someone who’s thrown in his lot with josiah bartlet, and that means he will STAND WITH HIM in public no matter how MUCH he disagrees in private. okay seriously i’m trying not to discuss the shuttle leak here. ahem. GAYNESS.)

what this means is that toby gets into arguments with both cj and andy very easily, because he’ll dig in his heels and ignore them throwing every argument they’ve got at him and god can you imagine how frustrating that is. but cj and andy make a very good team, good at compromising, good at showing affection (toby tends to lock up when he’s in a mood), and really good at choosing movies for movie night. (they DO burn things whenever they try to cook together -- toby and cj are the family cooks when they’re all living together -- and andy, like toby, doesn’t speak the language of the press the way cj does, but for the most part they work very well together.)

this is a really long description to say that, yeah, i think if we were in an ideal world, andy and cj would make the best married couple. it wouldn’t be a good IDEA for them to get married, because toby would NOT take it well and obviously you don’t want to get married if it’s going to hurt your other partner in the way it would hurt toby.

also?? i just want to say you’re a genius because i had never considered the angst potential of 3x21 (edit: completely misjudged the season whoops) in the sense8 au but oh MAN it’s painful. i’m torn between my love of that shot of cj sitting alone in her gown while times square streams past her -- versus a similar shot, except toby and andy are psychically sitting on either side of her, with toby’s hand on her back and andy’s hand on her leg. LIKE?? THE ANGST POTENTIAL IS OUT OF THE PARK HERE Y’ALL, I NEED EVERYONE TO GET WITH ME ON THIS.

the image that won’t leave my head is toby, pale and shocked next to sam celebrating the motorcade maneuver, and at some point sam turns to him and asks “are you okay?” and toby, feeling cj’s pain and feeling pain for her, says “yeah” because what ELSE can he say??? pain. pain is good. thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Here’s a quick REVIEW

THIS IS A GREAT ALBUM. I LOVE IT!! The tracklist is not what I would have hoped for but then again, I only know a handful of old anime songs so it’s really no surprise that none of them made it onto the album. I wasn’t really familiar with any of Wakana’s chosen songs but to her credit, she made me fall in love with almost all of them. The only tracks I do not like are “Yatsura No Ashioto No Ballade” and “Rain” but that’s not Wakana’s fault, it’s just that I do not care for those types of songs. Wakana’s vocals are really solid throughout the album, her voice was made for classical arrangements like this and I am forever grateful we are getting a full album and a concert on top of that. There are just a few sections here and there where I am not too happy with her choice of singing style but it doesn’t take away from my enjoyment. Question: Is it just me or are the instruments (strings in particular) overly loud sometimes? Occasionally they seem to almost drown out Wakana.

Detailed review below the cut〈(•ˇ‿ˇ•)-→

1. 時には昔の話を (Toki ni wa Mukashi no Hanashi wo) Arranger: Sin; I understand why they chose this as the leading track to promote the album. Everything about it is absolutely beautiful, Wakana’s vocals, the arrangement, the lyrics, the PV (from what we have seen so far). I have mentioned it before but her “hashitta” in the second chorus(?) kills me every time. And the way the strings build up in the first and last chorus. Ahhh, be still my heart I cannot take it. Btw, I am still not sure if you consider those two last lines in each of the three verses a proper chorus or if the song just consists of three elaborate verses..? But for the sake of this review, I will call them choruses XD 2. やさしさに包まれたなら (Yasashisa ni Tsutsumareta Nara) Arranger: Miki Sakurai; Gorgeous arrangement (especially with the added tin whistle). Kinda reminds me of the Concerning Hobbits theme from LotR. I am a big fan of Celtic and folk-ish elements. Miki Sakurai apparently is a big fan too. After all, her “Yakusoku no Yoake” which she wrote for Wakana’s first album also had strong Celtic vibes. My favourite part of the song is when Wakana sings that final “meseeji” in the last chorus, the arrangement here is beautiful. Still think Wakana’s vocals are a bit too cutesy but hell, it’s a cute song so I guess it seems fitting.  3. Rain Arranger: Shu Kanematsu; Wakana sounds great but the song doesn’t do anything for me. T_T 4. いのちの名前 (Inochi no Namae) Arranger: Shu Kanematsu; OMG, this brought tears to my eyes. SO SO BEAUTIFUL. The way her voice just blends with the strings. Her vocals are a tad quiet though compared to the instruments. Or is it just me?  5. やつらの足音のバラード (Yatsura No Ashioto No Ballade) Arranger: Sin; I can’t put my finger on what exactly I don’t like about this but I can’t seem to get into it. I guess it sounds a little too jazz-y for me...or is it blues? Either way, not my cup of tea but I can see why Wakana would like it this way. And hey, she does pull it off perfectly so who am I to complain? On a side note, those lyrics are just so perfect for Wakana, she doesn’t often get the chance to sing about dinosaurs :P EDIT: Future!Sarah is coming back to revise her opinion. After listening to the album on repeat for hours on end, I now LOVE this song. It’s charming. 6. Get Wild Arranger: Sin; One of the coolest arrangements on this album!! The strings are just PERFECTION. And Wakana SLAYS!! Who would have thought she can pull off a song like that. I mean, we already knew from gettign that teaser video but this is on a whole other level. Too much awesomeness.  7. 風のとおり道 (Kaze no Toorimichi) Arranger: Miki Sakurai; Ahhhhh, so precious and mystical, such a gorgeous arrangement!! I love how we start with just Wakana’s vocals. And then Miki Sakurai adds her magical touch again by inserting all those Celtic elements. The tin whistle fits perfectly. A couple of Wakana’s high notes no longer sound good to my ears here but overall I enjoy her singing. 8. 君をのせて (Kimi wo Nosete) Arranger: Sin; The arrangement is utterly charming, both the piano as well as the strings are perfect here, Wakana’s vocals in the verses are literally flawless. I kinda find myself wishing she had sung the chorus with a different voice though. Mind you, I don’t hate the one she is using here but it’s bordering on being a teeny-tiny bit too shrill and thin for my taste. It’s still solid (and nothing at all like her strained “ring your bell” voice let’s say) but it’s not what I personally enjoy most from her. Either way, I think she is hitting her notes just fine (as far as I can tell at least) and the style fits the overall sound of the song. Pus, they made up for the slightly thin vocals by adding a little harmony layer which I appreciate.  9. 愛にできることは���だあるかい (Ai ni dekiru koto wa mada aru kai) Arranger: Sin; Most of you may know this already but I am a HUGE fan of the cello so I am happy we have such a strong cello presence here. Those cello parts are so cool. Anyways, this turned out to be one of my favourite tracks even though I didn’t think I would ever like this song based on the YouTube teaser we got a while back. There is just so much raw emotion and fierceness in Wakana’s voice, towards the end she is hitting me right in the feels. I just can’t help but be drawn to the song. I am surprised by how well she handles songs that are originally sung by males. Her covers of this and “Get Wild” are just exceptional imo. They bring out a new side of Wakana which I really love. 10. 夢のゆくえ (Yume no Yukue) Arranger: Shu Kanematsu; While I didn’t know this song before listening to Wakana’s cover version, the melody reminded me a LOT of the old anime songs I used to like back in the day. The feeling of nostalgia is super strong in this one so naturally I enjoy it quite a bit. It’s not an outstandingly beautiful song or anything but the arrangement is lovely and Wakana’s vocals are on point.

Now, its hard to organize these all but i’ll do my best. I orignally had MANY others on the list, but it seemed smarter not to overwhelm you with too many different genres, so i kept it simple. I also will recommend some songs out of order before listening to the show from the beginning, but that’s just

Some are gonna be movie musicals, so just bear in mind, but if you want the broadway version i can oblige! A couple personal favorites i highly suggest are:

Wicked

The backstory of the Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda the Good, before the events of the Wizard of Oz.

 Listen, if i had to choose one show to see on Broadway, its this one. When the u.s. tour came to my city, i was beyond excited. And when my in-laws got orchestra seats for us to see it in, i all but cried. :D I could quite literally write an entire essay about the show deep diving into the costumes, the set and stage design, the tech and lights, the script adaptation, etc...

The music is iconic in its own right, and its just so much fun and full of heart! Start right at the beginning with No One Mourns The Wicked and The Wizard and I are brilliant places, but legit with any of these songs you can’t go wrong. There are even reprises in the show they didn’t put on the soundtrack but 1000% should be there, its just that good!

Phantom of the Opera

 Ah yes! An oldie but a goodie. Its almost all singing, but boy is it worth it! I actually recommend watching this, cause it’d end up being the same runtime and you get the added benefit of seeing everything going on. But the whole movie soundtrack is available on YouTube, of course (the prologue is super slow, just fair warning, its a lot more for visuals than musical). The Phantom of the Opera title song is a great starting place. Music of the Night (immediately following POTO) and Think of Me are some of my top favorites, but really this whole soundtrack is just *chefs kiss*. Oh! And All I Ask of You just melts my heart! Also, of you want a great stage production soundtrack, the 25th Anniversary at Albert Hall starring Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo is fantastic as well!

Also also, i know where to watch both movie and stage performances, so just lemme know if you’d like that. :D

Hamilton

 Ok now hear me out! I honestly also didn’t like Hamilton when it first came out. And i didn’t for a long time. I’m a more traditional broadway connoisseur, plus the only rap i really listened to was Eminem. But even there i’m super selective, and i made the mistake of listening to the intro song first.

Don’t be me.

Sometimes you need the familiar first before you get to the place where they branch off (in this case, throwing in some rap verses).  

Hamilton in 7 Minutes is an amazing a cappella compilation of the entire soundtrack, plus the animatic someone drew for it is phenomenal. After that i highly HIGHLY recommend Helpless and then You’ll Be Back, oh and The Schuyler Sisters! This show is just as quirky and sweet as it is emotional. And i get its not for everyone, but i’d be remiss if i didn’t at least mention it.

Newsies

Inspired by the real-life happening of the Newsboys going on strike in 1899 New York.

Oh man, how do profess my love to thee? Mainly an all boys cast (but the ladies who have songs in it are *chefs kiss*), the choreography is as incredible as the music itself, and boy howdy is the music great! Jeremy Jordan is the butter on my bread and as Jack Kelly, just lives rent free in my head on repeat. If he sang to me every night, sleep would never be an issue. xD Carrying the Banner, King of New York, and Watch What Happens are great ways to start off this party. And here i shall grace you with the whole Live soundtrack (i didn’t like the audio quality for the regular recorded one i found, but its still the same cast so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯).  

The whole stage show was professionally filmed and lives on Disney+ currently btw! (so go watch it! The tap numbers and spoon playing in it give me LIFE)

Heathers the Musical

The darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerburg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously sexy new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather’s aerobicized ass…but J.D. has another plan for that bullet.

 I’m so glad you already like this! The music really is a great banger and the story surprisingly manages to be both edgy humor-wise and serious when the moments call for it. Its a lot of fun and i’m surprised by how much i like it. If you haven’t already listened to them, Beautiful is the intro and is really good, and also Candy Store & Big Fun!

The Little Mermaid Musical

 The movie and musical that need no introduction! I was really surprised by how much i liked Broadways soundtrack for the show, and how short-lived its time on stage was. It really doesn’t get enough credit for how much creativity went into everything. And what an all-star cast too! All the original songs from the movie are there, and i think they did a really good job expanding them even more, especially Under the Sea. Her Voice (10/10 just melts my heart) i’ll also recommend beforehand but honestly you don’t need too much. Just go straight from the start and head onward, you’ll really enjoy it!

The Sound of Music

 Man i’m getting nostalgic. Another oldie but goodie! My mom, sisters and I loved watching this movie growing up (along with Oklahoma, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Singin’ In the Rain, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, and just...every musical in our collection ;P). Funny, sweet, romantic, heartwarming, its got it all! The Sound of Music kicks everything off, and from there you can’t go wrong, but this is another movie musical i highly encourage watching! Also i just wanna throw in The Lonely Goatherd now cause its so much fun, so why wait?! ~~

Your “review” that “won’t headcanon smut” worries me based on previous “analyses” that existed in the tag that did just that - delve into the sexual scenes of the show under the guise of providing a critical lens, but in reality they provided more material for the tag’s fantasies of these characters. I believe you said you identify as female, and that you’re in your 30s - I think it’s important to ask yourself why does THIS scene interest you in particular to “review.” (1/?)

Why focus on a scene in which a) there’s sexual content that has been heavily debated, b) where your identities mean you have a certain lens that make you maybe not the best person to write about this, and c) that frankly has been dissected quite a few times before. There’s frankly, no need for a “review” of this scene beyond what’s already been said by many sides - and I wonder if you’re just interested in notes because “analyses” of explicit scenes have gone pretty viral in the tag. A redacted review doesn’t actually show that you care about the communities that didn’t appreciate the way the scene was constructed, but rather you’re excusing yourself from more direct criticism for actually posting the explicit review in the first place. I ask you: what are you really adding to any conversation - and again, does your intersectional identity give you any place to be adding to this specific dialogue?

Hey anon. Firstly, thank you so much for writing this all out and taking time to pose some really interesting questions. I do want to start off by saying that I was asking a question and so that opens the gate for an exchange of thought. I haven’t myself written anything yet but I have asked and so you’re in your right to counter me. So I don’t know if you follow me or not but implying am interested in notes? thats a fair assumption but if you actually look at my blog I am not super popular or anything and I don’t care to be. My blog is sorta of a corner in my head to discuss thoughts or think pieces on skamverse topics.  The only thing as of recently that has been heavily popular that I have posted is the fan fic reviews and I think thats because everyone has been dying for some form of content its a sorta of flash in the pan moment. Also, I completely get you bringing up some past “reviews” and their “analyzes” which were heavily criticized as veiled objectification of the actors. I actually have a previous review we can reference for style *here*. I did say it would be more so about writing/production as a whole versus implications. My Vrijdag 14:38 review kinda of shows you how I would chose to dissect the scene. I also think you are making a huge assumption thinking I wouldn’t consult one of the male bloggers in the tag for their voice. Though you do have a point about age anon. The male bloggers in the tag I speak to frequently are in my age range(mid 20′s+) and thus our interpretation of sexual comfortability (I mildly reviewed/hottake-d Dingdag 23:12 on this topic btw) will be different than for those who the scene is meant for which is teenager to young adults(early 20′s). However at the same time what I can contribute to this review is a dose of personal experience because the action that took place I myself have experienced at exactly this age(1st with a girl) and have experienced again in my late twenties(then with a boy) and guess what my pov on this act has changed over some years ALOT. Which brings me to the criticism. Your assuming again I am going to praise every part of this clip. I am not. They are a few things I don’t love. Concerning this particular scene or explicit scenes in general I have commented on explicit scenes/the mentality towards them pretty equally concerning the wlw scenes here & here of skamfr. My comments once again are mainly from the angle of queer content production. If your argument is just because I am queer woman am not allowed to comment on my male/non-binary counterparts experiences I sorta of disagree. Queer media is pretty niche overall and only now is it becoming readily available and I think its important for the 1st/2nd? gen (people like me) who has seen the exposure growth to comment/critique these pieces of production but I also respect if a queer woman states she doesn’t want a queer man’s opinion on sex. She is entitled to that opinion but I disagree myself as both parties are fighting for queer education as a whole. Our fight is one and so maybe you have a point. Why not examine this through the lens of queer education: was there any? was it helpful? was it objectification?does it serve as a tool for queer sexual education. Lastly, I think redacting for me is actually about providing people choices based on how they identify on the sexual comfortability spectrum. I see alot of young queer people on here not so much disagreeing that queer education is needed but more so how its not catered to all. Some queer boys/girls have sex (not all, as queer asexuals absolutely exist) and that sometimes queer sexual content is highlighted by physical acts of what defines queer sex verses emotional acts or differing exchanges. Hence since I am analyzing a piece of content that contains both I should allow people to chose what type of opinions on queer media they chose or don’t chose to consume. I hope I covered everything you asked me anon. As I said I haven’t wrote anything yet but your questions have posed the idea of critiquing queer content that deems itself as education and how we measure that as a whole (if it can be measured).

Caato’s Stand and its mechanism so far (Jojolion)

Caato’s Stand, which until now has not been named yet, often becomes the object of hype in its ability and discussion in its name. I’m also interested to discuss both, but maybe I will focus more on its ability.

As her character is heavily a reference of French playing cards, Caato uses her playing cards as medium for her Stand ability.

Caato can store objects between her cards, making them appear or disappear like a magic trick. The first object we saw when she demonstrated her Stand for the first time was a cellphone. The phone is smaller in width and length, making the cards able to fully conceal it.

The second time we saw her Stand, she tricked Joshu to tidy up her cards, indirectly hurting him by the impact of the chair she stored into her cards when he took the cards that were stacked. With this second demonstration, we can sort the mechanism of her Stand:

She can store objects between her cards, making them appear or disappear like a magic trick

Anyone can release the objects that were stored inside her cards

She can store the objects with size much larger than her cards

Another interesting thing here is that the chair came out of two separate cards, it makes me wonder of the possibility that she could separate parts of an object and release them separately. There are also two things that I see as another mechanism of her Stand, though it’s still hypothetically speaking as the scenes were just mainly implication:

How she hid the chair between her cards? Did she slam the chair between her cards? If so, why no one noticed her while doing it (taking out two decks of her cards and putting the chair between them)? Two people might not had noticed that moment: Daiya (due to poor eyesight) and Joshu (being too distracted), why did none of the rest of the family notice that? Which led to two assumptions:

Caato does not need to take out (use) the cards to hide objects, she simply needs to will it

She does need to take out the cards, it’s just the family being too oblivious to notice that

Or some of them might actually noticed that but kept silent because Joshu definitely deserved that (LOL), the scene was focused on him afterall. Anyway, I’m more into the later, this reunion scene with her is not to be taken too seriously (in gauging the actual power as it is not a serious Stand battle).

In addition, a crucial thing that is easily overlooked in Caato’s words: “there certainly are a lot of chairs in this house, so you wouldn’t notice if I hid one between my cards, would you?”

Considering the hype from her supporters who frequently compare her Stand with D4C because their "dimensional-based" ability and "caught-in-between" mechanism?

「D4C」 has access to different parallel worlds/dimensions, it can also pull other people or items to other dimensions.

But in the case of Caato’s Stand and her words: she took out a chair from her cards, a chair that belongs to Higashikata's house, which is in the same world as her and the family. In other words, Caato’s Stand does not cross between dimensions in its mechanism, therefore the hype that her Stand has the same ability and power as the 「D4C」 has not been proven!

Notice how the warden took Caato’s cards, the decks were slightly open but nothing came out from them, but a few panels afterwards we see Caato took out her cellphone from the cards. Why didn’t the warden accidentally brought out the phone? It’s either:

Only Stand users (like Joshu) who can release the objects stored there besides the user (Caato)

Caato can control the timing of the stored objects to be released (and anyone who can release it)

I’ll pick the later too. However, there is also the possibility of luck as the decks, that were slightly open, were not storing her phone atm.

Now, regarding the hype she gets, many readers compare her Stand with Valentine’s D4C for being dimension-theme, though currently Caato’s Stand is still paled in comparison with D4C. Let’s see how D4C is capable of:

SBR chapter 75: D4C – part 8

Take a note that the info explicitly said that D4C can send both living being and inanimate objects into another dimension, therefore it’s not limited to person.

Valentine sent away a man into another dimension, the caught in between two objects part is what makes the readers comparing this with Caato’s Stand. This comparison also conceived the idea of Caato being the part 8 main villain. The time-based theme that incidentally became the pattern of main villains’ Stands in Ireneverse (part 1-6) causing the readers to think that the reboot/SBR verse (part 7 onwards) will have the main villains with dimension-based Stands (in which this is still unconfirmed and purely assumption).

But if you consider the ability-based as the pattern, you should consider the form-based as the pattern as well. What kind of Stand the main villains always have so far? It’s always the humanoid-type. I don’t think Caato’s Stand is a humanoid-type, it looks more like a tool or bound-type.

After that, we saw that Valentine can also send intangible/non-physical objects such as Stand attack (Johnny’s Tusk) to another dimension, besides physical objects. Actually, he was unable to do that in Johnny’s case as Johnny’s Tusk Act 3 can also move through dimensions, but he did try it, meaning that under normal circumstances (non-dimensional Stand attacks), he can do that.

What makes D4C different from Caato’s Stand?

D4C ability can only be done by Valentine alone

Valentine does not need a certain medium to use D4C, he can use D4C with any objects that are available to be slammed together (since his Stand manifests in humanoid form)

Unlike D4C, Caato’s words in chapter 58 implied that her Stand does not cross between dimensions in its mechanism

While people like to compare Caato’s Stand with D4C, I’d like to compare her Stand with Terunosuke's Enigma which I found more similar to.

Enigma

Enigma, in the form of folded paper, can store any objects inside it just like Caato’s Stand, however Terunosuke has to fold them inside the paper which kinda reminds me of Paper Moon King visually.

He can also store the object that much bigger than the paper itself, when the biggest object Caato had stored so far is a chair, Terunosuke had stored a taxi car (including the driver, btw).

Just like Caato’s Stand, anyone can release the objects that were folded inside the paper. Not only that, it can also store intangible object such fire and electric currents there.

And a living object such animal (scorpion).

Enigma can also trap a living person in paper, however, Terunosuke must discover the habits the target displays when afraid.

He can also transform himself into a paper, by bringing a gun, he can surprise the target who opens the fold and harm them.

Damaging the piece of paper results in an equivalent damage on said object or person inside it.

What makes Caato’s Stand similar to Enigma?

Storing the objects inside medium (playing cards & paper)

Both can store the objects with size much larger than the medium

Anyone besides the users is able to release the objects from the medium

Even so, I'm a little confused, about the difference between the two. Does Terunosuke keeps some papers as medium or transform the object/target into a paper (which is then folded)?

I think it’s more the later, he did transform Tomoko into a paper rather than engulfed and folded her inside a paper, whereas in Caato’s case, she likely brings her playing cards as tool for her Stand ability.

We have seen very little of Caato’s Stand, thus, it raises quite a number of questions regarding its full capability:

Can she store living object?

My guess is she can. It’ll be cool if we see her trapping someone with dangerous animals such as killer bees, snakes or scorpions, though I’m not sure if she can store a human being.

JJL chapter 107: Kaato Higashikata's "Attack"

UPDATE! Eventually, the new chapter of 107 has shown that Caato is capable to conceal her grandson Tsurugi. Then it can be concluded that she can hide living object between her playing cards (though I think) as long as her playing cards perfectly stack.

Can she store intangible objects as well?

I think it is possible, I can imagine her working together with Jobin in a Stand fight (if he survives in the next chapter). It’ll be cool fight as well.

Is it only limited to her special designed playing cards?

Caato’s playing cards do have unique design, the back of her cards have the Higashikata fruit seller mark. I’m not really sure but I guess this can be limited to her special cards alone. Why would she keep these decks and use her Stand through them? Perhaps if the playing cards aren’t that unique, she can use her Stand ability through any playing cards, but let’s see it more in the future.

The exclusiveness of Caato’s playing cards as medium for her Stand kinda reminds me of Hot Pants’ Cream Starter.

Which can be used by anyone besides Hot Pants and still functions even though its user is already dead.

Does it have its own (humanoid-like) form?

I think it's possible, even every ability (non-power) based Stand such as Fun Fun Fun, Vitamin C, California King Bed, Walking Heart, Blue Hawaii etc have it. I hope it has a cool design. However, Tsurugi’s Stand Paper Moon King also hasn't shown its humanoid form yet, even though we have seen a lot of its abilities. 

However, Caato’s Stand seems to depend on her special designed playing cards which made it more like a tool/bound-type Stand and I haven’t seen any bound Stand that has its humanoid form. 

Perhaps, we will be really able to determine the type of Caato’s Stand if we have a chance to see its abilities further in a serious Stand battle.

UPDATE! The new chapter of 107 has shown that her Stand has its own (humanoid-like) form:

At this point, it was most likely that all of the Higashikata family’s Stands have their humanoid form, bar Tsurugi… but I think that 「Paper Moon King」 will also have its humanoid form which it just hasn't revealed yet.

At the same time, the name of Caato’s Stand was finally revealed as 「Space Trucking」, it follows the ‘KING’ tradition just like every member of Higashikata family (including Mitsuba who joined the family through marriage).

Hence the speculation below that there will be the word "queen" in its name or that she is an exception due to her disowned status has become pointless LOL:

And last, about the name of Caato’s Stand, many readers (and JoJotubers) have talked about it. Some proposed names that appeal to me are:

Queen(s) of The Stone Age

Styx’s Queen of Spades

Queen’s The March of The Black Queen

David Bowie’s Queen Bitch

But why “Queen” instead of “King” (which becomes a trend in Stand naming among Higashikata family)? Perhaps because she is considered to be an outsider to the family as she disgraces the family’s reputation (for getting into prison) and divorced with the head of the family.

I am most interested in Queen of Spades just because I really like the album artwork “Pieces of Eight”. I think I’m gonna draw Caato in that album artwork style if this becomes her Stand’s name. A Caatofag also said that the lyrics are really complimentary to the lyrics Norisuke IV’s Stand, Metallica’s King Nothing, as if they are singing to each other.
