#i keep going back nad just typing on this when im watching lectures LMAO i don't even necessarily agree with myself anymore on all of it #it is 2024 and i have been thinking about hardenshipping all month. it is 2014 and i h #i can't even hide behind nostalgia though i played alpha sapphire early 2022 LOL this is just who i am #honestly though i consider my parents not getting me a copy of oras when i was a kid to be some kind of real tragedy can you imagine if i'd #had a 7 year head start. i mean i didn't have a 3ds until 2016 but at the time i would have literally sold my kidney to play oras #i love hoenn a lot though just bc as a kid most of the pokemon anime i would watch was dvds from the library cause i didn't have cable #so it was just the gen 1-4 seasons and i looooooved the gen 3 ones and the gen 3 movies soo much destiny deoxys was on repeat me and my #brother watched it like once a week i still love that movie. so i do have a lot of hoenn nostalgia. ...wrt yesterdays + today's prompts, honestly it takes me by surprise sometimes how much of the buildup + confession + first times for xyz are set in stone for ardbert/wol, when those are the kinds of things i'd usually rotate around in my head forever without settling on any one thing, because they were BY FAR the most enjoyable aspects of shipping for me. but now, with them, even the early stuff that i want to redraw, i just want to redraw to improve the quality lol, not to change the trajectory of anything... who am i...

#i remember seeing a post eons ago where op wanted to see more established relationship fic and i was like wow i could not relate less #even ships i've been super into i'd honestly struggle to see what the aftermath looked like #i guess to some extent there's the matter of xiv being an ongoing piece of media and i don't have to rely on my me to make up the big plot #vs something like the silm #where the 'happy endgame' stuff would often be like. reembodied in valinor #but i can't think about valinor for 10 minutes without getting creeped out by the idea of shoving everyone back in their gilded cage #and having them be happy about it #+ i usually always need time to mull over ships in a piece of media #but ardbert/wol developed alongside me actually playing through shb #so i feel less inclined to change stuff around because. things occurred to me when they did for a reason lol #the fact that the au would allow me to postpone the establishing of anything until forever makes it even. funnier? stranger?#that the opposite is true for them lol
