tldr: starkid needs a social media manager, they don't make the youtube residuals or ticket sales profit you think they do, chicago and la are great places to do theatre due to the audiences they draw but they are SO FUCKING EXPENSIVE, capitalism is rotting this country from the inside out and starkid knows this better than anyone

first and foremost:

curt mega is not a legal representative of starkid and he is entirely within his rights to defend misconceptions about the art he makes. he is so respectful to the fandom on here, even apologizing to the confessions blog after accidentally following them because he wants fans to have a safe space where they don't feel like they're being monitored by someone from the company. there is nothing wrong with him trying to assuage people's fears about the show. debunk whatever you want my dude (including if i say anything wrong in this post!)

i am not, under any circumstances, a blind defender of starkid. they've made choices that i do not enjoy in the 15 years that i've been watching them. like i say in this post, i think fans need more notice than a week if there is going to be a livestream we have* to pay money for. i would like a musical that is composed by someone other than jeff or clark. i wish the black friday deluxe download had the digital ticket in it. i wish jangle ball could've come to the actual southeast rather than claiming to be coming to the east coast then hanging out in new york (but as you'll see, that would've cost MONEYYYY). you will notice that these are nitpicky personal grievances. that's the point. im not gonna shell out completely for a group of white guys in LA, no matter how autistic i am about the musicals they make.

as someone who also donated to starkid returns and has also been disappointed to see how long it's taken for this stuff to get off the ground (I absolutely loved cinderella's castle but i would not have minded waiting for it if it meant we got space baby sooner or sissy/ttip. i want to see/read Sissy SO FUCKING BAD)

but think about it. starkid returns made $386,000. a weeklong rental of the El Portal Theatre costs $12,000. so for two weeks of tech thats $24,000. the two weekends of performances were $6,000-7,500 each. it's $7500 per shoot day for a film production. already, that's almost $50,000. Now think about renting film equipment, making costumes, sets, props, paying the cast, crew, theatre technicians, house management, REHEARSAL SPACE RENTAL, we don't know if any of the actors had to be housed in LA while they were working on the show, not to mention getting merch made (FUCKING EXPENSIVE). And that's just on Nerdy Prudes. They also had an entire fucking national tour to fund. i ain't doin the math on every theatre they rented for that tho.

while the 10iversary kickstarter made about $547,000, considerably more than SK Returns, that money went into funding the travel and stay of the fuck ton of people who came to LA for the show, renting the Ace Hotel Theatre, funding Black Friday, and of course the unfathomably expensive Wiggly plushes, which were very kindly restocked what, three or four times? because the FANS kept begging for them. and then after all of that was said and done, the company took a huge hit with the pandemic. Some of the SK returns money probably went into making Workin' Boys too! That's what happens when a global pandemic shuts down all your plans for two years!

i was also surprised to hear that space baby wasn't going straight to youtube. I had it in my mind that it was going to be something similar to Movies, Musicals, and Me. I see now that I was incorrect. It's experimental. It involves SO MANY ACTORS. and not to mention starkid has been doing the digital ticket prior to youtube release thing for YEARS. my main thing is that i would be totally totally fine with having to buy another ticket for space baby (which is only $10 by the way, less than all of their other digital tickets. not to mention it includes the talkback afterwards) if they had only clarified it just a little bit earlier. Nightmare Time 2 was announced on October 8th, 2021 and the first ticketed livestream wasn't until the 23rd. that's two weeks, a whole week longer than we got for space baby. however, im willing to understand that there probably wasn't as much time to announce things/people have been a little bit scrambled lately due to, i dunno, having to evacuate due to the raging wildfire.

unfortunately, people aren't always going to understand that making art is fucking expensive in this day and age. i hate that starkid has to keep reiterating that but it might be smoother if they had a media trained person running the socials who had a prewritten explanation of "making stuff costs money" for the people who don't get it. and then when starkid DOES do stuff for cheap they get taken advantage of. i'm still not over those fuckwads who bought meredith's beautiful handmade coasters at VHSCC and upsold them for three times as much money. the people who bootlegged the black friday digital ticket and posted it online just cause they didn't want to wait the measly 3 months it took for the show to get posted online.

being angry when the person who made the show is looking at the tumblr tag for the show because he wants to see what people are saying about the show he made comes thru to clarify some misconceptions when the tumblr tag is full of people not understanding the starkid business model that's been around since 2014 is not the move. not the move!!!

Hey! You're tutorial on drawing burn scars was really helpful. I've been trying to draw burns for a while and I could just never find a tutorial for drawing them, especially not one that showcased burns on multiple skin colors.

I have a question though, and I'm not entirely sure if you'll be able to answer it or point me at a good resource, but I figured I'd ask anyways.

In the guide you have some different types of burn scars listed (hypertrophic, keloid, and contracture). Do you know what causes each type to scar differently? Is it the severity of the burn? Or something else.

Hi! Fair question!

As for the severity: 1st degree burns very rarely leave anything behind after they heal and if they do it's usually mild skin discoloration. 2nd degree sometimes leaves some scarring but it usually fades away after some time since it's partial thickness, but deeper 2nd degree burns can cause permanent scarring that'll generally be less severe than those caused by higher degrees and mostly be hypertrophic. Third degree basically always leaves scars of all kinds. There might be tissue loss, so parts like ears or nose can be gone. Fourth degree is defined as going all the way to the bone, so the place with the burn will often be amputated because well it's just bone left. In this way it doesn't really leave scars I guess? But the area that's left will usually have severe scarring of basically any type.

For location: Hypertrophic scars happen wherever but are more common in places where skin is tight rather than loose. Pressure garments are used to prevent the hypertrophy so if for example your character wore compression sleeves as prescribed on their arms but nothing on their chest, the scars would probably be much more visible (more thick, discolored, and probably more painful as well) on their chest.

Keloids tend to form on the shoulders, cheeks, chest, and most commonly ears, but there is not much room to get a keloid there when it comes to burns - often if there is enough damage for them to scar, there will be tissue loss first. Keloids also happen more often in people with darker skin because their formation has something to do with melanocytes. Some people are also just more susceptible to getting keloids and if you have one you have a higher chance of getting another. Because of this keloids are rarely removed because they tend to just come back.

Contracture scars tend to happen where regular contractions do - where things move around a lot. So joints, facial and neck muscles, and especially digits. Contractures get less visible with physical therapy, wearing things like splints, or surgeries (like z-plasty or just skin grafts/flaps) that loosen them up and/or allow for more range of movement.

Ofc this is more of a rough guideline than anything else, every scar can potentially form anywhere and from anything (I'm just mentioning what's the Most Typical) and it depends on what resources someone has available to them. I have scars on my torso that according to this theory would have a high chance of being keloids (none of them are) and two on my hand that shouldn't have turned into scars at all (but they did) and they're hypertrophic for some reason. So I'd keep it in mind but don't stress about it 👍

I'm aware this is random timing but I've wanted to analyze this scene ever since I saw it and I was rewatching the Frontiers cutscenes so I decided "why not now" lol

This scene right here.

First of all, I'd like to say that Sonic & Tails's interactions throughout this entire game are IMMACULATE. And while I've seen some people complain that Tails "wasn't concerned enough" at the fact that Sonic was so clearly sick, this scene begs to differ.

It also shows, in both a good way and a sad way, how well Tails knows his big brother.

The entire time before, Sonic's been (for the mostpart) going around with a front. Pretending he's fine and brushing aside everyone's worries about him to turn the focus instead on THEM and THEIR problems, not his. ESPECIALLY with Tails. And this little fox knows probably better than anyone that Sonic doesn't like it when people fuss over him. So he's been playing along. Doing his part, doing the best he could in his digitized state, staying busy and all the jazz.

And sure, a couple times before this, Sonic was acting more tired than usual around Tails, but Tails didn't point it out. And he still doesn't point it out here, but his expression and body language say it all.

Now the corruption's getting worse, and Tails is just about done pretending along with Sonic that everything's fine. This time, unlike the last two times when Sonic had defeated a Titan when Super Sonic had flown down to find Amy and Knuckles, Tails is the one who runs to find him afterward.

He's clearly very worried, especially when Sonic barely acknowledges his presence and is really just doing his best not to keel over at this point. Tails reaches out in a vain attempt to touch him — whether to comfort him or help him up, I'm not sure — but still cannot touch him at all for obvious reasons. He pulls back and just watches him intently with this deeply sad, almost regretful look on his face. The End starts talking again and Sonic lifts his head a little to listen, while Tails just quietly shakes his head as he looks at him. As if he's saying, "Please don't do more, please just take a rest, I want you to be okay." 😢 Or it could just as easily be a sad sort of understanding, a resignation to what Sonic does, like, "I want you to rest, we both know you need it, but I know you, I know you'd sooner run yourself to death before you let us stay trapped any longer. And I can't do anything to stop you." 💔

And then, after having his fists clenched in obvious distress, Tails tries to reach out again, one more time. Almost unconsciously, as Sonic looks up to where the voice is coming from. Almost like he does want to stop him. He opens his mouth for a moment, too, like he wants to say something, but bites it back at the last second.

Then he pulls away again. His face is nothing but sadness and worry. Sonic tries making a quip at The End's new instructions, but he's still so clearly exhausted.

It's also interesting how Sonic won't look at Tails this whole scene, until Tails asks in that tiny, scared voice, "Sonic?" and he stands up, tells him to hang tight, reassure him they're almost done. Trying so hard to play the part of strong older brother even here, when Tails can so easily see how sick he is. 😔

Their dynamic will always be so fascinating and sweet to me. Even in these darker, more painful moments, the familial love they have for each other is beautiful. 💙💛💔

Sorry I haven't really been posting much of substance for a while now. I've been slowly losing the joy of drawing and the fact that I've been progressively getting a lot less eyes on my art recently (outside of tumblr at least, tumblr's always been pretty consistent for better or for worse) isn't mixing well with that and I've been really demotivated to do much of anything as a result

The worst part of it is that it's affecting my drive to finish my big projects. Getting medicated was great because I had the energy to work on bigger stuff finally (getting animations done finally and even getting work done on games. it's a lot lot later than I wish I was able to work on em, but I got there eventually at least) but that's all for nothing if I don't have a base motivation to work on them. The main thinking is "if people don't care anymore about my singular pieces, there's no way I'm gonna be able to lure them into looking at my bigger passion products". At this point I'm pretty certain my sudden growth was just a fluke and people are basically already getting tired of me. Another thing that's kinda "confirming" that in my head is that my stream viewer numbers dropped hard. I was getting two-digit viewer numbers when I started back up again but now I'm basically getting two viewers. I'm sure most of it is just that the novelty of me streaming wore of for the small section of my existing audience that were willing to watch them, but it's also probably that they found me boring or annoying and understandably didn't want to watch anymore. Was probably going to happen anyway, but it does not mix well with my current mindset :L I know the usual "it's just internet points who cares/you're worrying over nothing" but I really hate getting that argument since I basically just end up being the bad guy just for wanting validation for something I don't get much validation for irl. And I'm not really just talking about "oh wow delatoid I like your art :*)" but that basically I'm never gonna get anything out of this other than "I am having fun for a bit". I seem to be chronically unemployable already, and since the state of the animation job market is basically in the gutter at the moment, I've basically got no option to make a living. Ended up changing majors too, so it just feels like I wasted all that time and am starting from scratch (even though there are still classes I took that counts for Biology lol). It's fine for now, I suppose, but every year I continue living with my parents is a year of independence and having an actual adult life forever lost. It's not like this place is great for my mental health either, especially since my parents don't really believe in all that :*) This probably doesn't even matter to most people either and that's the worst part. A good like 90% of my anxiety/depression issues are time/age related and my circumstances are just perpetuating those. And it's easier to go "I will not think about this and just relax :)" than to actually be able to do that. Really sucks that life is so extremely short and most of that time I'm in mental anguish about how short it is meanwhile my brain drains all the energy from me stopping me from being able to make use of limited time. Perhaps I should switch from getting into veterinary stuff and switch to Human Medicine so I can cure aging and perhaps make Football 17776 real....... Last thing, I promise. It's probably the most boring thing here anyway it's the typical "I want irl connections!! I want friends I can be with regularly!! I want a partner again!!" I would be fine without these if I was doing well on the art front. You know, I'd be fine sacrificing social life if I had a stable career(?)(not explicitly "job/work" career hopefully it makes sense) but I have neither and don't see it changing in the future (<--- stupid shut-in)

For the past few-ish years, I've been doing an art challenge where I focus on posting pieces on designated dates. This year, I wanted to draw each triplet doing something with Launchpad to have ready for the, uh, 15th, but that obvious didn't happen due to something preventing me from being on time...again...😒

But I'm still completing them anyway! ✍🏾😤

I had been thinking about some Disney Afternoon promotional art where LP is preventing Louie from taking gold underneath Scrooge's hat. I found it really amusing and wanted to do something with that at some point.

I also thought about how Louie scammed LP out of the golden kopesh he was awarded in "Toth-Ra" and how he couldn't bear to part with it in "Shadow War". 😂 Della then later had one during a similar setting in "Quack Pack", attached to a staff...which... now suddenly reminds me of...a spear. 😐 🤔

Huh, anyways, I normally ink these art challenge drawings with brush marker, but I wanted to do something little different this time: I digitalized the lines, print them out to color traditionally, and placed the digital lines on top of that. And while I did mainly use colored pencils, I decided to make use of my gel pens too, since I never use them. 😅 That was another thing that didn't go as well as I planned...either they were never filled up properly at all, or they REALLY dried out. 😬 I could hardly get anything out of them for the kopesh blades! (+ LP's belt buckle) I had to extend that texture through the program I was using. 

I then later threw in some jewels, or beads rather, as an afterthought to help fill up space 'n' match with theme. :3 I think this one turned out ok, I just want all three of the pieces to be done already. 😂😩Hopefully I'll have the next piece up tomorrow...

Since I'm still feeling emotional and sentimental about Splatoon's 10th anniversary, I thought I'd showcase how my art skills have improved from October 2023 (left) to the present day (right) - all thanks to Splatoon!

The traditionally drawn inkling above was my attempt at making anew member for Deep Cut called Piper. I'd never been especially 'good' at drawing beforehand, but my love for Deep Cut made me put pencil to paper and create something. I was happy with the result (even though I cringe to look back on my old art now) so I continued drawing, even making a group of OCs called The Turfin' Team.

(I eventually redrew them digitally, but I still haven't really done anything with them. Sorry my lil goobers)

I continued drawing as the months passed, slowly improving as I went from one Splatoon-oriented obsession to the next. I basically only drew Side Order stuff the months before it released, and afterwards I focused on the agents, and so on and so on.

Then, just over a year ago, I finally decided to download IbisPaint X and start drawing digitally. It took me a while to figure out how to use it, but now I'm practically an expert. It really helped me to explore different art styles, and I'm quite happy with the art I produce nowadays. Below is some of my early digital pieces, then some of the ones I'm the most proud of!

All in all, I have overwhelming gratitude to Splatoon, for encouraging my creativity to shine and inspiring me to do what I've always wanted to do - create!

Marcel for the character asks? 👀 I know we don’t get like TONS about him in canon, but I also suspect you have lots of thoughts :)

Omg okay I love this, I think I'm just gonna give a few Marcel-related thoughts rather than doing the meme because this is a fun chance to ramble about him, Theo, and Scott (and Allison and Kira, and also colonialism's relationship to alchemy).

1. My headcanon is that Marcel keeps Theo around to access medical records.

This is not a perfect headcanon but it's the best one I've got for why Marcel keeps Theo around, especially early on.

Because, like, POV you're a ruthless alchemist who cares about nothing but success. This nine year old is the closest you've come and maybe at first seems like he might be a success: he's the only stable experiment after hundreds of years of attempts (you lowkey suck at this), and he's even able to fully shift into a coyote-wolf.

But eventually it becomes clear that he's not a suitable host for the Beast. So unsuitable, in fact, that you pivot your entire approach to be about finding people who are already genetic chimeras, rather than this whole organ-theft evil-litmus-test business.

Which means you've got an obsolete experiment and a need for medical records.

It's the mid-2000s, when medical records are increasingly standardized to be digital.

You're a walking electromagnet. Computers hate your horrible body.

Theo makes it his baby business to finagle his way into medical records. Maybe it was even relevant to his parents' jobs?

This would explain why they keep him around, especially when he's younger. I know it's popular in fandom to say he helps lure in the experiment subjects, but I think it's significant that we literally never see him do this onscreen.

What Theo and Marcel do talk about is Theo being tasked with keeping Scott out of Marcel's way, but Marcel also seems to initially have no faith in Theo's ability to do this, as evidenced by the creation of Belasko. Belasko's sole job is to go weaken Scott! He's not meant to be a potential host for the Beast, it seems, because they kill him without seeing if he'll become unstable: his one job was Scott, and he failed.

My interpretation of that is that Marcel didn't think Theo could handle the true alpha, since the McCall pack is notably more involved in fights than other packs (as Theo later remarks upon). And especially when he was nine or ten, how helpful could Theo have been in keeping packs away? Or almost anything else to do with the experiments, since Marcel had been doing them without the help of a nine year old for literal centuries? Making him in charge of newfangled digital paperwork would mean he solves a new problem for Marcel, and explains why Theo seems to be otherwise generally underfoot when he's not dealing with the pack. Marcel has no other jobs for him, and seems to otherwise regard him as a nuisance to be tolerated (as long as he doesn't cross certain lines).

It would also explain Theo's casual confidence with Donovan's medical documents. It had to have been him who got those confidential files. Certainly him who printed them out.

I confess there's a problem with this headcanon, which is that Theo doesn't seem to know that Mason is a genetic chimera. I have no real answer for this except that either 1) Theo got the paperwork out of the way as fast as possible, not really paying attention, or 2) Marcel had gotten irritated with his dependence on Theo, and had been working on ways to access the files himself, all while Theo got older and more capable of handling local packs. Anyway, that's my two cents. #mycents

2. Marcel is properly not a doctor but an alchemist, and the show could have done even more with this by making Scott the Beast.

The Dread Doctor framework is alchemy: the symbolism of the ouroboros, the use of mercury, and the symbolic goal of alchemizing prima materia into the ultimate evil. Marcel is presented as beyond even the fringes of alchemy because he's already, essentially, discovered the elixir of life, one of the primary goals of the alchemists' search for the philosopher's stone. Marcel is an alchemist's alchemist.

Someone else has already pointed out that the pack symbol--represented as two circles for the first time in the alchemy season--is the alchemical symbol for the sun/gold. I adore this connection but am also certain it's not intentional. But it could have been! Scott coming back from the darkest night, ruled over by the strongest moon, to announce his resurrection through the symbol of the sun. The meta really says it all but I adore it.

Another fun little alchmey thing is that the alchemical Latin term for mercury is argentum vivum: living silver. The Allison of it all! Especially since mercury represents the principles of fusibility and volatility, and is best exemplified in Theo, the most fusible and volatile chimera. I don't know how the show could have incorporated this but it couldn't have been worse than the ham-fisted use of damnatio memoriae.

My last fun fact is that another classic Teen Wolf material shows up in the alchemical record: obsidian, known for its connection to Tezcatlipoca. In alchemy, the most famous bit of obsidian was a disc of obsidian obtained (with a very sus lack of provenance) by John Dee, an English alchemist. It has been since identified as an Aztec "smoking mirror," the symbol of Tezcatlipoca.

Marcel could have had one as well! He could have used it, say, to turn Scott into a hybrid of werewolf and berserker--maybe the twin sets of DNA are already there, a remnant of Scott's unique ability to break out of the berserker mask--and turn him into... the Beast, dun dun dun! It would have been so sick.

And with obsidian being critical to the process, Kira's obsidian tail could have been crucial to rescuing Scott. It would have built on season 4 so well. Are you seeing my vision?

ok so. Several years ago, when Gmail suddenly introduced the categories thing and split my inbox in three without asking me or providing me a way to opt-out, I stopped doing the things I had always done in order to keep my inbox organized. And I tried my best to train it which emails i wanted to keep in my primary tab. It was a lot of work, a little at a time, and it never worked the way I quite wanted-- it would insist that various mailing lists from ecommerce sites I'd bought from were Important, but conversely when I bought digital goods from other ecommerce sites on a very regular basis it would always banish the "download it here!" emails from my inbox and I would have to go looking for them, every time. It was mildly frustrating, but never bad enough for me to do anything with.

In the last several days since they finally gave me an opt-out for the AI, i've spent a few minutes every day sorting through my giant chaotic inbox, and I've made filters for all my frequent fliers, and while I still have a backlog of eight thousand unread emails they'd formerly sorted for me and now won't, which I'm chipping away at a little at a time with tools ill-suited to it, my incoming email is better-organized than it ever has been.

Which really just goes to show you that anything AI can do, a real person can do much more efficiently and easily. And without the impediment of the thing trying to do it automatically and getting in my way, I can do it much better.

So I guess let that be a lesson to me, to always switch off the auto-sorting of everything. It only makes me lazy and worsens the chaos.

BulkProwlBee Feederism with Prowl's curiosity for the new that may lead to our skinny cyberninja learning something new about himself ☺️

I'm not the best writer and I'm very rusty so bear with me aaa

If there was one thing Prowl was known for, it was being curious. The motorcycle figured that is how he ended up here. He had first found himself drawn to Bumblebee for just his personal aesthetic tastes and Bulkhead after the whole Dinobot fiasco. Prowl had attempted the best he could to keep those building feelings deep within himself he ended up going one night to confess to the two during one of their 'game' nights.

This led to Prowl walking in on Bulkhead and Bee not only interfacing but for some reason Bumblebee was busy stuffing as much fuel as the minibot could get his servos on into the bigger bot.

Thinking about how that led to multiple talks between the three of them but eventually to the three of them also working out a relationship between all of them made Prowl chuckle. Bee had done what he could to explain his and Bulkhead's actions, sending Prowl things to look up and links he and Bulkhead used in their own exploration. The humans called it feedism, and Prowl thought it was a fitting word.

He hadn't been interested at first in that part of his partners relationship, letting it be something they did together, but he did assist Bumblebee in collecting fuel for the night they had once every other week. Prowl didn't intrude, but tonight... tonight and many others he had been thinking; slipping into Bulkhead's room silently.

Bee was perched attop the huge bots round gut, cooing sweet nothings to Bulk while he pushed another oil cake into the green bots mouth. It would be impossible to miss how much bigger Bulkhead had gotten since landing on earth, and those in the know knew exactly why.

Prowl stood off to the side and watched the two quietly, Bumblebee playfully teasing Bulkhead as he reached for another treat when he caught sight of Prowl and yelped, nearly falling off of Bulkhead. "Prowl! You scared the scrap outta me!" Bulkhead grunts as he pushes himself upright, holding onto the minibot so he can see the other. "You okay, Prowl? You aren't the type to interrupt... did something happen, sweetspark?"

Prowl shook his head but went to sit next to his partners, tapping his digits to his knee. "I... I apologize, but I've been... thinking. Nothing bad, but... Bulkhead, may I ask you something?" Bulkhead and Bee glanced at each other before the large green bot nodded.

"Why?" Prowl realized the question was vague before continuing, "I mean, why do you like doing this?" Bulkhead blushes, scratching his helm in thought. "Oh! Um... I guess it's a few things. Before Bee and me started doing this, I guess I've never knew what it was like to be full. I know I'm big, but rations never seemed enough."

Bulkhead reaches down and pats his belly, it grumbling softly. "I like this, I guess. Being soft on top of being just big. It's... comforting." Prowl nods, a thoughtful expression on his faceplate. "May I... try?"

"Feedin' Bulk? Sure, I don't mind an extra pair of servos." Bumblebee tilted his head in confusion when Prowl shook his head. "No, not that. The ah... being fed." If the sudden puffs of steam coming from the other two wasn't a clear answer, the sudden shocked nods were. "You sure Prowl?"

"Indeed."

"That's it, sweetspark... last one... wow, Prowl... I didn't know you had this in ya." Bumblebee smiled as he pushed one last bit of fuel past Prowl's intake, and even the motorcycle had no idea he could consume this much fuel.

While Bumblebee had fed both he and Bulkhead, the green bot still took the lions share, but still, for how slim Prowl was, all three of them were entranced. Prowl leaned heavily against Bulkhead's plush side, his tank swollen and resting heavily on his thin thighs. The noises coming from him were unlike anything Prowl had heard, and the feeling, Primus the feeling.

It felt amazing. His tanks rolling and squeezing around the obscene amount of fuel Bee had convinced him to eat was life changing. Prowl could barely open his mouth before belching loudly, moaning as he leaned his head back onto Bulkhead. "We need... to do this again."

He couldn't help but chuckle when he got surprised gasps and the revving of two engines in reply.

Selling your merch and shipping from home with Fourthwall

I've been selling @shiftythrifting Junk Boxes - our curated secondhand mystery boxes - since 2017 using different platforms with different levels of success. I moved to Fourthwall in 2022 and my teeny tiny business has only grown since then! FW is free to use and you get ALL the money from your home sales save for the credit card processing fees. I don't miss the fee structure from our previous hosts, so I thought I'd write up a little guide on how easy it is to get started.

Things you need to start shipping from home:

A scale, and it doesn't need to be an expensive or large one! Even a kitchen scale works for small stuff.

Packaging and packing materials for the product(s) you're selling.

Access to a post office and/or a printer.

Funds set aside for postage. You'll get this money back with your Fourthwall payout when the month rolls over.

(Optional but handy) A ShipStation account.

Make yourself a store if you haven't already. You can sell print on demand, digital stuff, and your own inventory in one place but today we're talking about selling from home, so add a product and pick the middle option.

You can customize everything about your product on this page, from adding size and color variations, the materials used to make it, size charts, inventory, and more. Get an accurate weight of what you're selling in its packaging and add that here. Hit save and you have your first listing. Gonna be selling a variety of products? You can duplicate the listing with the meatball menu! Change the name, photos, and anything else that needs changing and have your second listing up in a couple minutes.

Didi protip: I like to put people's reviews right in the listing. Lots of photos help sell your product, but there's nothing like a positive review from fans!

Fourthwall's Collections feature lets me put my Junk Boxes in their own little section where I can set them to hidden or mark them sold out if I get sick or am on vacation. This lets me easily turn the self-fulfilled part of my store off while folks can still purchase print on demand and digital stuff and sign up for memberships.

Didi protip: If you are in the US, the US postal service will pick up your outgoing packages free of charge on any regular mail day. Just set up a pickup on USPS.com!

When you've made your first sale, you can either make the label yourself or connect directly to ShipStation through Fourthwall's app integration. That's brand new and I love it so far. My labels pop up in ShipStation about 24 hours after a purchase, giving people a little window of time to adjust their order or make changes before I ship it.

At that point, all that's left is handing it off to the postal carrier of your choice! Boom, you're done!

A final note from me, I moved ShopShifty to Fourthwall so I could have one address for ALL my merch instead of splitting it between Patreon, a print-on-demand store, and the Junk Box store. It's proven to be the best choice I've made in years and has saved me a ton of money in marketplace fees, Paypal's cut, and web hosting charges. This has genuinely been the easiest way to sell my merch!

Steady servos moved in practiced motions over his workspace, the pointed tips of his digits pressing the cleaning pad into seams and corners to ensure every centihic of the room was disinfected. With an optic for detail - and a predisposition for obsessive cleanliness to the point of anxiety - Knockout was a stickler when it came to keeping the med bay sterilized.

Not only would any contaminants negatively impact his patients, but quite frankly, it was a bad look. He strived for perfection, and it simply wouldn't do for his surroundings to be anything short of pristine.

He wavered slightly, catching himself with a start. Referencing his odometer, he noted it had been some time since he'd taken recharge. A habit of his, unfortunately. Hyper focus often lead to long periods without proper rest.

"Why don't you let me finish up and go take a few breems?"

Apparently, he wasn't the only one to catch his lapse. Ex-venting, he paused to address the room's other occupant.

"I'm nearly finished. Besides, your digits are too wide to get into some of these crevices."

Breakdown scoffed. "That's a lie if I ever heard one. You'll be at this for another cycle, at least."

Waving him off, the red mech continued scrubbing. "Yes, well... you know how I am."

He heard the larger bot approach, groaning when the cleaning pad was removed from his servo. He was about to object when he felt a steady weight against his back.

Leaning over him, Breakdown replied with a raspy laugh, "Yeah, I do know. Which is why I'm callin it."

Turning in place to pin the blue mech with a pointed stare, Knockout reminded him, "I believe I am the Doctor here. I make the calls."

"I'm not asking as your assistant... I'm asking as your conjunx. Please, Knockout. Get some recharge."

Frag. Not the look. Unable to withstand the pleading expression, he gave in. "Fine, fine! But make sure you get into the corners! And don't forget about-"

A kiss shut him up.

Pulling away slowly, Breakdown assured him, "It's cleaning. I've done it before."

Pleasantly flustered, the red bot nodded. "Yes, I suppose you have. Well... I'll be back in about - uagh! What are you doing?!"

Easily hoisting the smaller mech into his arms, he turned and exited the med bay, moving at a leisurely pace as he strode down the hall to their shared hab suite.

"I'm perfectly capable of walking."

"Yeah, but I wanna carry you. It's been a while since we've been able to spend time together outside of y'know... work stuff."

Unable to argue with that, Knockout relaxed into his lover's hold, leaning his helm against the mech's broad chassis. The war certainly had changed things. They'd been at this for so very long...

"Thank you."

Breakdown smiled at him, that crooked grin that was somehow rugged and adorable all at once.

"It's my pleasure."

The rest of the walk was spent in silence, the pair simply enjoying one another's closeness. It was over all too soon, but it had been nice to partake in the indulgence while it lasted. Upon arrival, Breakdown allowed his partner to slide back down onto his pedes, stopping him as he moved to step away, stealing one last kiss.

"I'll be inspecting your work when I return!" Knockout teased, strumming his digits against the blue mech's armor.

"Oh, I know you will. Now get some beauty rest, would ya? Yer startin' to look a little dull."

He gasped in false indignation, but found himself unable to hold the facade. Smiling, he threw a wink at his partner and headed for the berth, the lack of recharge finally catching up to him. Knockout watched him go before shuttering his optics. He wasn't sure what he would do without him.

Going to set a vague 'pricing' structure (in euros since that's the currency the GoFundMe is in) - these are based on roughly how time consuming each medium is for me, but like I said previously, if you can't donate quite enough for a specific thing, reach out to me. I know a lot of us on tumblr (my recently unemployed self included) don't have a ton of money and the top priority is reaching Farah's goal!

For all of the below, you will receive a digital scan of the original work (if traditional medium) or a high res file from procreate (if digital).

what do I like to draw?

I love drawing people, portraits especially, but I also enjoy drawing animals. characters from fandoms, portraits of family/friends/pets/etc are all a-okay! I'm a multishipper so very few ships are a problem for me - what I will draw is pretty flexible aside from what is listed in the following 'what will I not draw?' section. For the purpose of this fundraiser, all art will be safe for work.

what will I not draw?

While I'm happy to draw real people, be they yourself/friends/family/a celebrity you like/etc, I won't do ship art of real people (art of a couple in your real life is fine, but ship art of celebrities, for example, is something I am not comfortable with). I also will not draw age gap relationships wherein the younger character is a minor. No gore/graphic violence - though canon typical bloodiness (MASH characters in the OR for example), is fine. End of October Update

There's got to be a less clunky way for me to title these things but maybe I'll figure it out after a few posts.

Anyway at the top of the order I want to say that uh... the Abacelsus zine is not happening by halloween unforch.. I just started school part-time and it being part-time is still kicking my ass! So tentative release date will be on 11th November unless something else happens....

On the plus side I'm done with the cover so all that's left is the back page and cramming all 24 pages full of drawings 👍

I'm still deciding on whether i want to print it A5 or B5 but I'm leaning towards A5, though for the digital release it doesn't really matter lol

As mentioned, I'm done with the main cover so I just need to fill this entire thing with stuff, I said 24 pages but really the total page count is 30. I'm just not counting the cover and the blurb stuff.

I'm half taking a break with this at the risk of burning myself out and half paralysed with starting it. Plus I've kind of been more into Axl & I-no hilariously but I'll always love A.B.A. I think the lack of any real info really lends her well to interpretation which is always fun.

I've never really been one to engage in fandom so I'm probably going to be doing my own thing. That being said if anyone has any suggestions feel free to drop them in my strawpage or ask box :)

Sigh, like I mentioned earlier I'm doing school again! At my big age, but I'm having fun so far! It's part-time but it's still kicking my fucking ass! It's the main reason why I'm a little disoriented this month honestly.

Do you like it? I spent an entire Sunday making my class miro board look niceys and then proceeded to get nauseous from cybersickness afterwards LOL

I'm doing a UI/UX course and I have to say the funnest part about it is making personas, it's like making OCs. Don't particularly like writing though.. but also that's a lie considering the numerous amount of paragraphs in this blog post alone haha

I've also gotten confirmation that I'll be boothing again next year in Febuary! So I gotta start locking into making more stickers and general merch. I say this a lot but I do need to look into opening an online store because I just have tonnes of stickers and stuff lying around waiting till the next time I do a convention which is kind of a shame.

➰Closing Thoughts

All in all, been kind of busy this month with school and various loose threads from September but overall I think I'm doing better! I've also been cooking lately and truthfully that's my biggest achievement this month haha, been also getting really into canned fish. Yummy!

Oh and a last thing is that I've been itching to animate again so I'll end this post with a WIP of a gif I did last night/morning. I almost always never finish my animations but here's hoping this one actually makes it to the colouring stage haha
