Toxic - Veneer x F!Reader (angst/fluff) part 2

summary - your ex isn't done causing trouble for you, but fortunately this time you have Veneer. part 2 of this! part 3. part 4. part 5.

"So?? Is he every bit the perfect boyfriend we imagined he would be?"

"He's even better! He is the absolute best, I swear!"

Living everyday in dreamland, you never missed a chance to gush about Veneer to (Friend's Name). He was perfect in everyway, and treated you so well. He was sweet, sensitive and caring, which is what you loved most about him. Sometimes he could be a childish and spoilt brat, but more often than not he was your kind and doting boyfriend. It's been only a few weeks, but you can already tell your relationship with him is deeper than anything you've known.

That and he would never cheat on you.

"Well even on-screen he looks totally obsessed with you!"

"He does?" You questioned, blushing. You've been with him to a few red carpet events but you've never noticed that.

"Yes, girl!" She squealed, "The way he looks at you!! God, I wish someone would look at me like that!"

Your face burned as she said that, a dark blush covering your cheeks. You'd never imagined you'd be having this conversation with (Friend's Name), and you'd definitely never imagined hearing that he looks at you a certain way when you're around him.

"Someone will, I know it," you assured her with a smile. "Maybe-"

"Maybe I need to date a total douchebag and get my heart broken so someone can come sweep me off my feet too!" She exclaimed in one breath, which was impressive. "You're a genius!"

"That's not exactly-"

"Kid Ritz is kinda cute, do you think I could get his attention?"

"Well-"

"That's not a no!"

You just sighed, giving up and laughing at your friend's antics. It seems that's what she wanted, because she leaned back in her chair and smiled. That cheery mood was, however, short-lived.

"I think you can, (Friend's Name)," (Random Name) slid into the seat next to her, across from you. "I mean, if (Name) can land a superstar like Veneer, I'm sure anyone can do it."

As your lips twisted into a frown, (Friend's Name) sighed, "Boy, haven't you been embarrassed enough?"

He ignored her, his eyes trained on you, "All you gotta do is pretend you're into them, get them to like you and date you, and use them for their money." He gestured to the pretty chain around your neck, which had been a gift from Veneer.

"Did you just come to kill our mood and make baseless accusations?" You questioned, annoyed. You'd no longer give him the satisfaction of hurting you.

"Baseless?" He raised an eyebrow. "It's not baseless. We all know you're still in love with me, and just trying to make me jealous."

You actually laughed out loud, "What?"

"Come on, (Name)," he leaned forward, smirking, "No one just falls out of love. You were so obsessed with me, remember?"

"Yeah, and now I'm not," you glared, "Get over yourself, it's been weeks. I fell out of love with you within the first one. You want to know what this is?" You gestured to the necklace. "It was a gift that he surprised me with, because he saw it and thought it would look nice on me. Did you ever do that? I can count on one hand the times you surprised me with, well, anything."

"So you're saying you weren't expecting him to be that nice?" (Random Name) raised an eyebrow. "I'm sure the public would love to hear that."

"Okay, you're either just stupid or a jerk. I'm going with both."

That came from neither you nor (Friend's Name), and your eyes lit up when they landed on Veneer standing behind (Random Name), hands on his hips.

"Always need him to come save the day," (Random Name) spat, standing up. "Can't even stick up for your-"

He didn't get to finish, because Veneer's fist collided with his jaw. Your eyes went as wide as saucers, having never expected the green-haired star to ever be capable of such an action. Even (Random Name) was stunned, stumbling back and clutching his jaw. (Friend's Name) cheered, and Veneer looked shocked his punch even landed on the guy.

"Why, you-!"

You quickly stepped between the two boys, glaring at your ex while shielding your still stunned boyfriend, "(Random Name), just take the hint and get the hell out of here. If I had known what a selfish, vengeful and cruel person you'd become when angered, I never would have agreed to date you."

The area surrounding you guys went silent, your words hitting him like a sledgehammer. Even he looked taken aback, before a scowl that you were not used to seeing on him crossed his face.

"This isn't over, (Name)," he snarled, "You'll come crawling back sooner or later, and I'll forgive you for being so deluded."

Then he turned and left, and you let out a breath you didn't realise you'd been holding. You turned around to face Veneer, about to apologise for that scene when the boy scooped you up into his arms and offered you the warmest, most comforting embrace he had to offer.

"Veneer, I'm-"

"Shh, don't apologise," he cut you off, pulling away slightly to get a good look at you, "I just hope he didn't physically touch you. Did he?" He gently took your chin in his hand, soothingly running his thumb across your jawline. "Tell me he didn't touch you."

"He didn't," you leaned into his touch, "But that was a great punch."

He grinned when you said that, "I didn't even know I was going to do it, my hand just moved on its own when he insulted you like that."

"Still, impressive."

(Friend's Name) swooned, giggling like a child getting candy as she watched you two interact. Veneer turned to her, noticing her for the first time.

"You're (Name)'s friend, right? The one who helped her get ready for our first date?"

She blushed, looking at you, "So you did tell him about me!"

"Duh," you laughed, leaning into your boyfriend's embrace.

"All good things I promise," he assured her with a smile, "I'm glad she has such a supportive friend."

"Babe," you started, pulling his attention towards you, "(Friend's Name) here has a little crush on Kid Ritz. Do you think we could-"

"Oh, with pleasure!" He beamed, then laughed nervously at the look on your face, "You can't blame me! I was worried he was going to steal you away with how he keeps trying to talk to you! So I'm happy to help him get his attention away from my girlfriend."

You laughed at that, planting a sweet and gentle kiss on his pale cheek, "You are honestly adorable. He was just being nice."

"Just being-!" Your boyfriend protested, "I am a guy! I know when guys are trying to be nice, and when they're trying to steal other guys' girlfriends!"

"ANYWAY," you tried to shift away from his jealousy, "Let's get (Friend's Name) a date with him then."

(Friend's Name)'s eyes went wide, and a dark blush you'd never seen before crossed her cheeks, "Okay I was totally going to chew you out for having his attention but never mind! That would be so amazing! And oh my god, you two are the cutest ever!"

Veneer's cheeks tinted pink, and he offered her a shy smile, "Thank you! And agreed, his attention should be elsewhere."

"Okay you two, can we go now?"

"Seems like just yesterday you were doing this for me."

The two of you laughed at the sentiment as you touched up (Friend's Name)'s make up, getting her ready for her evening with Kid Ritz. Veneer had come through, landing her a date with the interviewer as he promised.

"Oh, I remember it clearly, you were a nervous wreck," she teased, trying not to move too much as you finished with her eyeliner.

"Hey!" You protested. "In my defense, I-well-"

"You're always nervous? Yeah, heard that before."

You rolled your eyes playfully, "Okay, okay. I would tell you to not be nervous but I think you're already confident enough for that."

"One of us has to be," she grinned, before checking the time on your clock. "Are you almost done? I think you're going to be late for your romantic movie night with Veneer." She imitated kissing.

"Okay, you need to go now," you laughed, pushing her towards the door. "Good luck."

She winked and left, letting you gather your stuff and head out to meet Veneer. You'd been to his place plenty of times, but the mansion always took your breath away and left you in awe.

"About time," your boyfriend pouted when he opened the door for you, spaghetti arms wrapping around your frame and dragging you inside. "I was starting to get lonely."

You giggled and kissed his cheek, "It took me long to get ready for you, you know. These things have to be just right."

The two of you spent the evening cuddling on his luxurious couch, snacks spread out on the table in front while a movie you had wanted to watch played on the screen. You were too engrossed in it to notice the way Veneer gazed at you, a soft smile on his lips as he remembered the first time you guys did this, about a week after you officially met. You'd said you prefer home dates and he'd suggested a movie night, which had been one of the best nights of his life. Mostly because you'd fallen asleep in his arms, and nothing had made him feel warmer inside.

You suddenly gasped, "Did you see that?!"

"Huh?" He blinked, snapping back to reality and looking at the screen. "Did I see what?"

"Veneeeeeer!" You whined, laughing as you looked up again, "You weren't watching, were you?"

"Oh I was," he answered, "I was watching something far more interesting." He used his index finger to tilt your head up by your chin, and your breath caught in your throat.

"What was it?"

He just smiled and closed the distance, pressing his lips to yours sweetly. They moulded together so well that kissing him was as easy and natural as breathing. Like a function you couldn't live without. You shifted closer, deepening the kiss and gently gripping the back of his neck with your hand.

He kissed you again and again, not once getting tired of the feeling of your lips on his. You weren't really surprised by this behaviour, you were used to his clingy side by now, and it warmed you up knowing you had a boyfriend who was just as obsessed with you as you were with him.

"Please don't ever leave."

The words came out before he could stop them, and his tone came out sadder than he intended it to.

You frowned, cupping his cheek in your hand, "I would never. Why would you think I'd leave?"

He leaned into your touch, closing his eyes, "Just worried."

"About what?"

He shifted uncomfortably, and it was then that you realised he was hiding something from you. He wasn't looking you in the eyes and he was acting nervous and strange - unlike his usual bubbly self.

"Veneer, babe, what is it?"

He finally met your gaze, "What he said. That you'd go crawling back to him eventually. I don't want to...I can't..." He struggled for words.

"Hey, that'll never happen," you promised. "Never. Don't forget that he cheated on me. I can't and won't ever forgive him for that. Besides, I don't even care about him now. The only person who is ever on my mind is you. Day and night. And..." You took his hand and cast your eyes down to watch them intertwine. "We have something special, and I never want to lose that."

He started to smile at that, and when you looked up you noticed his eyes were glistening.

"Aw, baby," you cooed, wrapping him up in your arms like he usually did with you. You kissed both his cheeks and his forehead, then started placing silly kisses all over his face. "I'm not going anywhere."

"Me neither," he quietly promised, cheering up.

"VENEER!" Velvet suddenly screeched, rushing into the room with her phone out. She seemed upset - nothing new - but more so than usual. Her glare pierced her brother, and she thrust her phone out for you both to see. "What is this?!"

Both of your eyes widened as you sat up and stared at the screen. The screen with an online article that had a headline stating, 'POP STAR VENEER: A CHEATER?" with pictures below it showing him handing a brand new purse to another girl, followed by a picture of him writing something on her arm with one eye closed - a photographed wink.

"That's not..." He trailed off as your phone buzzed.

Incoming message: Unknown number

You're not the only girl he gifts things to. Ready to come back now?

You dropped your phone.

may I request some headcanons for an MC with each of the OL1 boys who bakes/cooks waaaaaay too much (example: instead of like... 1-2 dozen cookies, they make like... 6-8 and often)

-- You know who's going to get a little thicker around the waist? Baxter.

-- I was going to say Cove, we'll get to him in a second but you KNOW that boy is going to be putting those treats away. But the thing with Baxter is that he's never really been this close to anyone before, and if you are in a relationship and have agreed to move in with him and you're just in the kitchen, baking your heart out, and there are all these goodies that you made with your own two hands and they are there in the home you share and and and

-- He is going to be so happy. He normally wouldn't eat sweets like that, like he's not going to grab a cake to eat at home or whatever, but yeah, he'll grab a cookie. Oh wait, those are really good, maybe he'll grab another. He can take some to work with him? Cool, thanks!

-- Cove is in heaven, actual heaven. How did he get so lucky. Why are you so perfect. What did he even do to live in this state of constant bliss.

-- It doesn't matter how many times he's had your baking, it's always like the first time! So many praises, so much thanks, just gushing and gushing over it.

-- If you make something just for him, he might cry. He's so tender, and any time to take the time to do something for him like that makes him feel so many feelings.

-- Derek doesn't have much of a sweet tooth and he is careful about his diet, but not so careful that he wouldn't indulge if you made something special.

-- You know what would be fun though? If you taught him how to bake! Think about it, trips to the grocery store (grocery store trips are so fun with Derek and such an occasion, he makes everything special and fun and you have memories about grocery shopping. How great is he that he makes something so mundane into a fun little thing you look forward to every week?). Quality time in the kitchen. Derek in an apron (he likes an apron).

-- If you need, you can send some of the extras to his parents' place. Nico loves them!

-- Oh but speaking of special memories, baking was obviously a big thing with Baxter, so every time he sees you baking, his heart gets to fluttering. He thinks about making the cupcakes that first summer together and about making the cake before Jude and Scott's wedding. Just seeing you mixing something up is enough to get him to thinking about how lucky he is that you crossed his path not once but twice (or three whole times if you met at that summer soiree).

You: *turning off your mixer, looking over at Baxter* You ok?

Baxter: *sitting at the counter staring at you, resting his chin on his hand with actual hearts in his eyes* I'm wonderful, thank you for asking.

-- I know you said cooking too but we kind of ran off with the baking huh

-- Derek is totally fine with the extra cooking. Of course he'd be a meal prep bro, you already know. Don't worry about this, you just cook and he'll take care of the leftovers.

-- If there are leftovers, because our guys is going to have to eat a lot to maintain those muscles.

-- If you cook something to take over to a holiday or just a get together with his family, he's going to be so proud. Making his parents try it, watching their reactions. He's as smug when they like it as if he'd made it himself lol.

-- Baxter likes to cook too! You can cook together, and that come become a nice little tradition too. He's not great at baking, so he'll leave that to you, but you can make dinner together every night and talk about your days, and how nice is that? When there's extra, he can take leftovers to work for lunch the next day (or for the next few days if he really likes it).

-- But he will tease you relentlessly, like "Darling, you are aware there are two of us and you are cooking enough to feed an army, yes?"

-- He loves it though, you can tell him to kick rocks if you want.

-- Cove is still crying. This baby loves to eat lol, you are so good to him!

-- Oh if you are Cliff's MC, he's also loving this. He's another one that likes to cook, but he's used to cooking for everyone else, so if you take over, at least every once in a while, he's going to feel so pampered and cherished.

-- He will gladly eat your cooking for every meal for the rest of his life. Please be in charge of baking his birthday cake every year too. He will not turn down a batch of cookies. He won't gorge himself like his son lol but he looooves a little handmade treat!

-- Cliff hasn't been in a good healthy relationship literally ever, so just having a solid partner who he loves more than anything, who loves him just as much and to have such normal homey stuff going on as you baking a batch or two (or ten) of cookies while you're spending time together in your home? Amazing, perfect, best feeling there ever was.

Well. Quite a bit to unpack here on an otherwise unassuming Friday!

#1:

#2: I actually track this stuff. Admittedly the E-rated percentage is a bit higher if you look at RWRB only, but overall...

#3: I think anyone who subscribes to me on AO3, or indeed anyone who follows the kiwiana-writes tag here on tumblr and sees all those fucking WIPs, knows that I like to write a bit of variety. That's not to say there aren't definite underpinnings of, like, themes and vibes that I return to over and over (which I can only assume are why people subscribe to me), but if someone only likes my college AUs, or only likes my post-canon stuff, or only likes my E-rated stuff, or only wants to listen to my podfics, they're probably going to have a much more successful time saving the tag search than subscribing to me at the author level. Or they've mastered the art of archiving and moving on without complaining about it, like I do when the authors I'm subscribed to write something that doesn't interest me. It's a useful skill! I highly recommend cultivating it.

#4: AO3 not giving series stats is and continues to be the bane of my life, but based on the number of people who subscribed to the OG actor AU, there's probably a significant chunk of people who aren't subscribed to me as an author and only want the actor AU verse stuff. And good for them! I LOVE that AO3 offers multiple ways to subscribe so you can get notified for the stuff you want (my kingdom for the ability to subscribe to individual pseuds, though.)

#5: This fandom is OVERFLOWING right now. Like, I can't keep up. You only want to read E-rated stuff? Awesome! Well over 100 E-rated fics have been posted in the RWRB bookverse tag just this week (it looks like most of the movieverse smut has also been tagged bookverse, but either way it's also very easy to find). Or go back to older fics and find some hidden gems—there's nothing an author loves more than for someone to come in and gush about a fic they wrote a year or two ago.

#6: You don't pay me, and I'm not subject to annual review. One of my favourite authors was talking this morning about how sometimes she thinks about taking a break from writing for RWRB because it's starting to feel a little rat racey, and that would suck for me personally because I love her stuff but god knows I couldn't blame her, because the (extreme minority but still exhausting) entitled comments and rudeness really do not help. Stop treating your favourite authors like content creators who owe you something new on a regular schedule, because that's a damn good way to ensure they don't want to create anything new ever again. Like... anon, you haven't even bothered to couch this in a compliment. The bar is ten feet underground and somehow you still managed to trip over it.

#7: Not to be all 'back in my day' but... well, back in my day, snippets and peeks into the universe of a remotely popular longfic were pretty much the standard lol. Nobody is forcing you to read them, I promise.

#8: I've posted two E-rated fics in the last two weeks.

#9: Honestly I just really want to reiterate #1 because what the hell lol. While pronouns don't equal gender, it's pretty reasonable to extrapolate from pronouns if you don't have any other info to go on—and of the three "main/standard" pronouns, the one most closely associated with 'girl' is the only one that ISN'T in my bio 🤦

The second featured author of this week is the lovely, loquacious, and truly the best bestie anyone could have: Jodi ♥️ I don't know how she does it but Jodi's fics are fast becoming my most comfortable corner of ao3 to be in because she just has such a way with words, and I do think we should all let her write s3 😌 I also annoyed her into answering some questions for me and sharing her writing process:

What's your writing process like? Do you start with the beginning or the end? Do you write in order or as the scenes come to you?

So I *used* to write sequentially, ie from beginning to end, but the process has gotten more and more chaotic over the years—unhinged, one might say lol! Now, I typically start things off by drafting sections of a story, which ends up being a lot of dialogue more often than not. Like, there are *definitely* some wips in my drafts right now that are almost 100% Stede and Ed talking and nothing else lol (which I mean...staying true to their characters there if you ask me)! Then, if a bit of good description comes to me, I'll pencil that somewhere into the draft, too. And only *then* lol, if things are feeling right and the motivation is feeling high, will I actually attempt to write in sequential order—essentially just playing "fill in the blanks" and writing towards things I've drafted to mix everything all together!

...But sometimes my brain does still fast-forward and write future sections if the good ol' "shower/going to bed daydreams" strike. So it really just depends lol!

My 2014 writing brain, in Ed's voice: You are improving though! Kinda.

Favourite trope or headcanon you like to explore while writing?

...Squints at my tags on AO3 lol. If you see that almost *all* of my stories are hurt/comfort, no you don't <3. I just absolutely adore taking all the hurt Ed and Stede have gone through and soothing it with cuddles, kisses, and soft reassurances. Because man, *man,* have they both been through a lot. It's like Pandora's Box lol; once you start digging into the true depths of their hurt, you just end up with more and more and MORE. There's just so much that they both need and *deserve* to talk through as a crew—or talk through as a "two," as some have said lol, so I adore exploring that. I adore allowing them to have that space and that safety. *Particularly* with Ed getting to unpack things he faced in the earlier parts of Season 2, and with Stede getting to unpack...*anything.*

Also, because I write entirely in-universe, I'm a big fan of implementing some of the common, lovely headcanons. Ie, the crew coming to visit, the two of them maintaining a garden, the British never finding them, etc etc. I know not all of my published works reflect those, but a lot of my drafts do, promise lol!

Whose voice is easier to write - Ed or Stede? Why?

I *still* feel like I'm trying to nail down that ✨ kiwi cadence,✨ not going to lie lol! But, in sitting with this question and sort of going back and forth on it for a while, I think I'm ultimately going to have to land on Stede in most instances. Maybe because I'm one of the ✨ Stede-coded Girlies (gn)✨ , or maybe because I adore Ed so much and subsequently find it easier to gush over him narratively lol! But yeah.

Strangely enough though, I will say I find it easier to write Ed's voice when he's dealing with hurt, vs writing Stede's voice when he's dealing with hurt. I think that's because Ed is more open with his pain, and deals with it in more candid ways, whereas Stede likes to bottle things up and hide. So, it's subsequently harder to crack him open and let out everything that has backed up.

Your personal favourite thing you've written that you'd like more people to read

-Ed voice- Oooowaaaagggh.

Is coming to the table with two stories cheating? Because, I have two lol! I'm very proud of Scrumptious, and also Lovers of Beauty. The former because it was an idea that had been sitting in my head *forever* and I'm so happy it finally got realized, and the latter because it was my first go at writing other characters as well as an exploration of a very particular vein of Ed's hurt. Can't go wrong with Horny Stede and Ed in a dress either, I'd say lol!

What is the one word that you think you use a lot?

Lmao: INTERTWINED. I feel like it's shown up in almost every single story I've written post-season 2, if not *every* single story. I'm just a big fan of throwing their canon quotes in my narration, with the "breathing the same air" and "love letter" speeches getting the most mileage. OH and also Stede's mermaid speech, too; "I'm here. I'm here. You're safe" assuredly gets thrown into the mix as well lol.

Also uhhhh, on a sillier note, I'd definitely say that the good' ol "fuck" gets a lot of usage lol! Ed and I 🤝 enhancing many a sentence with it.

Do you have a beta reader? Have they made you a better writer?

I do not! We die like the Badmintons.

I instead rely on myself for the long and tedious part of my process I call "combing." Ie, going over my last draft with a fine tooth comb to catch typos or any other silliness to the best of my ability.

Would I benefit from a beta reader? Probably, yes. Would I spook from having a beta reader? Probably, yes PFFF. So, combing it is!

Why OFMD 🥹

God, this show. GOD, this show. I just take such a deep and personal comfort in it for so many reasons. I think the two things that snagged me initially were: getting to see queer people just *being,* and getting to see *older* people finding love. The way that this show portrays us in such a natural, lovely light is so, so refreshing. It's like how Taika has often talked about it; there's no triumphant "coming out" type moment, there's no sensationalizing anything, and there's no spotlight on the queerness. It just...*is.* Everyone just loves whoever the hell they want, and there's no questioning or even discussing the implications of that. And I adore that. I adore the *freedom* of that. It just makes the show feel all the more personable and cozier, too.

Also, man, to see older queer people finding love...I'm going to be vulnerable on main here; I don't have a lot of relationship experience, and I'm nearing my 30's. Western Society/Culture puts this *huge* pressure on people to find the love of their life and have it all figured out by their low/mid 20's, so not fitting that norm has been quite the gut stab for me. And yes yes, I know, it's all entirely fabricated and no one has the same timeline, but it still aches to see, particularly when a lot of media portrays love within that age group, if not *younger.*

So, to see these two men nearing *50* finally finding each other after a life of emptiness and pain? To see them finally finding the person who understands them better than anyone else? And to subsequently get the comfort that somewhere, sometime, you'll cross paths with someone who just *gets* you? Ooooagh.

I think that plays into another part of the show that I adore, too. Ie, the theme that "things are going to be okay." That, no matter how dark and dreary things may seem in the moment, you could still have your mermaid moment, and subsequently end up in a cozy little inn with the love of your life. That there's so much kindness and hope and *love* awaiting you.

It's just so comforting on so many levels and I adore it with all my heart. It's a shame that CERTAIN execs and people equivalent will never be able to understand the depth and the importance; they're entirely, truly missing out.

I never needed such help / This is my SOS

(Content warning: self harm) (If you don't have a problem with that, huge Drillman essay under the read more lol)

When I said that I wanted to draw Drillman some more, this really wasn't what I had in mind.

This week, I've been shopping for music on various second hand sites, which made me realize I don't physically own one of my all time favorite albums: "Squaring The Circle" by Sneaker Pimps. I had to change that immediately. (As well as buying like 15 other CDs and vinyls, lol.) As I was listening to it once again, I realized just how much the song "SOS" reminded me of Drillman and his struggles.

If you don't want to look it up, here are some of the lyrics:

"I look much smaller seen from inside out/Far too small to see myself/Down on reflection, cast in hate and in doubt/Flawed and flaws I add myself"

Listen, this dude got some major problems with his self esteem. He feels like an embarrassment because he was forced into a life he never wanted by his father. Now he seeks revenge on the company that bought his families business, along with him and apparently his bodily autonomy. Think about that for a minute. How fucked would it be if your parents wanted you to be a doctor, but a requirement for that would be to have your hand surgically removed and replaced with a scalpel. That's the exact situation Drillman found himself in.

Now a lot of people probably think "Well why doesn't he just ask Dr. Light to give him a new pair of hands then, if he's this miserable?" This is where we get to one of Drillmans biggest problems: the refusal to ask for help in any way. And even after the finale of the season, why would he go to the Lights for help in the first place? Wasn't it Aki who thought the best way to help him through his problems was hypnotism? And in the process embarrassing him in front of the whole city, ruining the last bit of reputation he may have had? (For real though, that episode is so hard for me to watch. I just feel so so bad for him, since I really struggle with social anxiety myself.)

As the guys from the Youtube channel "The D-Pad" (who reviewed all of the MMFC episodes) fittingly commented: "This would be like fucking Vietnam for him." And they were right. Obviously, Drillman is horrified that Aki would humiliate him like this and lashes out, solidifying his opinion that asking for help is a bad idea.

In that episode, there's this one moment that really stuck with me. At around the 8 minute mark, while Drillman is having a breakdown over the terrible "music" Aki made him perform, there's this one shot where he takes a moment to look at the drills that replaced his hands in frustration. The camera perspective makes it seem as if we are experiencing this brief scene through his eyes. It's actually quite upsetting. This is also a perfect moment for me to gush over the voice acting for this scene. Andrew McNee did such a fantastic job of conveying Drillmans distress and anger through his voice. That reminds me, giving him a British accent was honestly such a good decision.

The reason he doesn't talk at all throughout most of his first appearance is probably because the writers wanted to surprise their audience a little. As in, you see this big, imposing construction robot and think "Oh man, what a brute. He probably has a pretty deep voice." And then he actually starts to speak and it's this sophisticated, well-articulated British voice instead. Quite the whiplash.

To get back to the original topic, I'm honestly still upset that they didn't give Drillman a redemption arc at the end of the show. This probably would have happened in season 2, as Mega Man even says at some point "I know deep down your inner bits are good", proving to me that the writers definitely had something in mind regarding Drillmans character arc.

And now that all of that is out of the way, we can finally get into headcanon territory.

You might have seen this image while browsing the tags and asked yourself, "Why is this Mega Man Fully Charged artwork littered with content warnings?" And well, now that you're here and reading this, you probably know why. I can't say I've ever made myself sick with a drawing before. That's a first for me.

My headcanon is, that after the finale of the show, Drillman is just utterly lost. Lord Obsidian, who sought him out specifically because he knew of Drillmans problems and offered him a place to stay and a way to get revenge on the people he thought responsible for his predicament, turned out to be a horribly racist human who was just using him to achieve his own devious goals. After getting his ass kicked by the Lights, the same people who had not only humiliated him in front of the whole city, but who had also left him stuck to his abusive father for an entire day (I bet that ride to the police station was horrible for all the people involved, most of all the police bots who had to hear the Drillmen yell at each other the whole time), Sgt. Night is detained by the police. We don't actually see what happens after that, because that's where the show ends.

I'd like to think that the Lights actually try to talk to the robot masters once everything is over, telling them all the horrible things their so-called "leader" has said and done. And most importantly, what he thinks of robots: That they're nothing but tools to him. That once they had gotten him his Mega key, he would have wiped their minds and turned them into mindless machines.

I'm guessing none of the robot masters would take these news well, but most of all Drillman. I think that after he ran away from Skyraisers Inc. and fought Mega Man for the first time, he was really relieved to have some place to stay and a new goal, maybe even a robot to look up to. That being Lord Obsidian of course. Who knows what lies he told Drillman and the others? Kinda sad that we never really got to see what the robot masters who stayed with Lord Obsidian did the entire day. When they weren't causing havoc in the city, that is.

None of them seemed really friendly with each other in the finale, now that I think about it. I guess "Obsidians robot sanctuary" wasn't really a great place to stay at after all. But still better than being homeless, like that one maniac living in the forest all by himself. Speaking of Woodman, in my AU, he and Drillman already knew each other at this point. This also reminds me of something I forgot to mention in my last post. While I'd love to see them interact in any way, because they're both my favorite characters, I don't ship them in any way whatsoever. I'd also like to think that Woodman and Drillmans father were schoolmates back in the day, maybe even friends? (I'm still holding onto those 30 years).

Anyway, after all the former robot comrades part ways, now without a leader, what was Drillman supposed to do? Once again betrayed by a trusted figure, feeling useless and without purpose, still with these stupid drills mounted to his body... Still too ashamed to ask for help. After all that has happened in the past few hours he begins spiraling, which ultimately leads him to make a very unfortunate decision. Trying to get at least some of the freedom in his life back, he attempts to get rid of the drills making up his body on his own, using the same tools that have haunted him all this time to finally rid himself of this burden.

He regrets this just seconds after, when he's left with an unresponsive limb, metal and wires exposed and oil splattered all over his orange plating. All he can do is stare at the stained drill in front of him in horror.

"I never needed such help/This is my SOS"

Jesus Christ that got dark. Sorry. I mentioned in my last post that Drillman possibly has really bad body dysmorphia, which I'm also trying to convey here. Don't worry, he really gets his hands back after this. Maybe the Lights find him after that and the good Doctor offers to fix him up. By which I mean not only his arm. Because apparently, Dr. Light also doubles as robot psychologist. I just really need Drillman to get his happy ending. He really really deserves it after everything he had to go trough over the course of the show.

I also need him to have a DJing redemption, besides the normal redemption. I've seen people headcanon that he exclusively likes classical music, but I personally don't believe that. He'd be the kind of music nerd who would say stuff like "I listen to everything" and then you look at his playlists and he actually listens to everything. Maybe not experimental noise rock, though. I can just imagine Aki and Suna helping him put on an actual show, this time without any hypnotizing bullshit, as a way for Aki to apologize for the dread he's caused Drillman during that incident. Drillman would be highly suspicious at first, but actually goes along with it in the end. Maybe they'd also take Fireman along, who Dr. Light also blessed with a brand new pair of hands. The punchline at the end would be that Drillman would have so much anxiety about embarrassing himself again, that he forgets to make an actual set list for the gig. In the end, he exclusively plays Lady Gaga songs, which no one complains about.

Alright then, enough yapping from me. I've really been writing this essay since 8pm. And now it's 2am. My god. I just have a lot of feelings about Drillman.

John Doe absolutely goes by he/they pronouns. No ya'll can't take this from me.

Even in their female form which is often referred to as "Jane Doe", I feel like that would just piss them off. I think just bc he changes his presentation doesn't mean you get to misgender them. I think despite presentation changes he'd still be himself and still go by John Doe.

So Regular Guys are pretty much pests in the Uncanny Valley. John Doe's eyes are kinda of explained in House Hunted 2 that he has to physically split his eye in half so he blends in. Personally, I think that's got to be uncomfortable all the time, so at home he does go from two eyes to one eye since he feels comfortable about it.

Many would think he's controlling which I think he can be occasionally, but not on purpose. Due to some of the things he has been through all alone, I think he views himself being controlling as protecting you, and while yeah he's a whole yandere I think he's more than willing to hear you out on making him comfortable while also accommodating your- freewill lol.

He hisses at people.

He stares at you when you sleep. There is no way ya'll convince me otherwise.

He doesn't require sleep but understands that you prefer to snuggle in bed with him at night.

He hates any of your plushies. He thinks if you hug them, you like them more than him- but he won't throw them away. He likes how soft they are.

He stutters a lot when trying to explain his feelings to you. He isn't used to people viewing him as a person over a pest.

Despite being a yandere, he is oddly good at communication if you teach him what it is and how to understand boundaries. He's going to slip up and you gotta understand that when going into the relationship.

He just orders takeout a lot. I have a weird headcanon that Regular Guys can make things from thin air so when he orders food he hands them money he just conjures. ((This man accidentally inflates the economy one eldritch magic dollar at a time.))

When he gets all hyper-realistic, he doesn't acknowledge it as "scary" to him he's sort of blind to it happening. While yes he is physically doing it, he doesn't see it so he just- kinda thinks you're being mean to him if you freak out. I think he's a visual learner so cues such as covering your eyes help him understand you're just uncomfortable, but don't love him any less.

He lets you pet his hair and despite the curls it never knots or tangles. Like it never knots up.

He isn't good with animals. Except crows love him. He likes crows.

He does try to clutter your home- and uh that's gonna require you explaining to him that humans need clean spaces to live.

Did I mention he's jealous? However, he can be really subtle about it. He just glares or waits till you turn to go hyper-realistic on someone.

He has an existential crisis in one breath, but in the next will ask you to pass the popcorn. (he is unwell)

For my FNAF bitches, he would listen to your info dump about the FNAF lore any day of the week. Any kind of hyperfixation or special interest of yours he will listen to you talk about it. He can keep up with however you talk and will never ask you to speed up slow down or stop talking. He just likes you.

He can help with chores, water CANNOT be involved.

In his Lil' Doe form (I HAVE DIBS ON THE NICKNAME >XP), he takes dust baths, but because he isn't human he doesn't have to take traditional showers. He can't too or his form does break down so please take care of him.

Despite him hating you taking showers, he learns to accept it due to the fact you explain it is a health thing. He realizes a human being is much more complex than a Regular Guy physically and requires more care than a dust bath.

He makes sure you eat. If you don't eat he becomes paranoid you will die.

Has he killed people for you? Yep.

spent the night in the ER. As we all may or may not know, I got an IUD placed in Oct when I was 4 months postpartum.

I've been bleeding ever since. Not "spotting," but bleeding. Heavily. I've had ultrasounds to check on the position - it's in place. at 6 months of bleeding, I was put on Junel Fe to see if it would calm down. Nope. I started getting cramping so bad, I thought I had another cyst burst. I was getting really big clots/tissue.

Back to the doctors, I'm taken off Junel and put on doxycycline bc I guess it can slow the bleeding? and an ultrasound is scheduled for the first week in June, where, after imaging, I'd most likely have it taken out.

well, 3 days later and I'm bleeding so heavily and passing tissue like I've given birth. I bled through a heavy overnight pad in 3 hours, and left a blood pool on my cough 6 inches wide. the tissue I passed was like the size of my palm. I called the on-call midwife and she told me to go to the ER.

So, new pants, fresh pad (heavy flow overnight ~guaranteed 10 hours!~, I go to the ER and I'm ofc crying bc I didn't know wtf is going on and I hate leaving Aidan. I think I sat in the waiting room for less than 2 hours, getting up twice to get vitals and bloodwork done. When i got up to be wheeled to ultrasound, I realized I had bled through my pad and my pants again. Badly. I told the attendant while holding up my blood covered hand and he just went "oh. I'm sorry" LOL K

The tech tells me to get undressed and get on the table etc and I'm like "um, I'm bleeding like really really bad.." she was just like "it's fine" and left. I'm crying a little, and I pull down my underwear and I shit you not, felt clots and blood just gush out and splatter on the floor.

Now I'm sobbing bc there's nothing for me to clean it up, I can't find a trash can, and I just keep bleeding anyways, so I put some paper towels over the murder scene on the floor and lay on the bed, covering my face with my arm unable to stop crying. the tech is a cold bitch as usual and then I'm told to get dressed (in my bloody clothes thanks!) and sit in the wheelchair to be picked up.

the attendant. brings me back. to the waiting room. WHICH HAS BEEN PACKED WITH PEOPLE BY THE WAY! I'm crying still, and I get out if the chair and go to the desk to be like "hi I'm bleeding through my clothes??" but the male nurse grabbed and was like "THERE YOU ARE! I've got a room ready for you! I tried to call ultrasound but they didn't answer. what were you looking for?" and I just mumbled that I didn't want to get blood on the furniture as I followed him.

he had the nurse get me mesh underwear and pads and it was the first time I felt like someone empathize with me. he said "it's gonna be ok" with a reassuring look, and left.

I waited a while in there. listening to the ridiculous chaos that they were dealing with, all definitely more acute than me - esp bc my bloodwork showed I wasn't bleeding out or anything. a man with dementia was being aggressive with the staff even though he had broken ribs and a pneumothorax and had been dosed with fentanyl. he kept trying to dismantle his bed, almost broke his foot, and I was just waiting for one of the nurses to get hurt.

I got a pelvic exam, and the doctor used about 12 gigantic swabs trying to get all the clots he saw. he said "yeah i see what you mean, it's a slow constant ooze" wow, I feel sexy.

ultrasound was apparently clear, and he asked if I preferred to go home for the night or stay -bc he wanted me to be seen by obgyn within 2 days. I chose to go home. it was after midnight. I asked for scrubs to go home in and thankfully got some.

my ultrasound showed my right ovary was fine, no torsion,cyst etc. then "suboptimal view of left ovary due to secondary location"

sorry What. also my uterus is LARGE and my endometrium is thickened to 11mm AND THATS AFTER 7 MONTHS OF BLEEDING THAT i KEPT GETTING TOLD WAS My UTERINE LINING THINNING OUT BC THATS THE IUD'S JOB

all I can think is endo/adenomyosis/cancer.

so I'm getting this thing (the iud) taken out. I want my hormones checked. and the dr im seeing already said i can get a hysterectomy or my tubes tied or whatever. and I can't stop thinking of my aunt who died of ovarian cancer bc they failed to catch it in time despite her going to doctors constantly with symptoms.

I'm really scared,actually. my history of medical trauma is on hyperdrive. I feel like I'm failing my kid. I'm not capable of being the mom I want to be. I feel betrayed and sabotaged by my body again. I also can't think straight whatsoever so I could be misunderstanding the meanings of things.

just don't kill me you piece of shit meatsack. not now that I've been trying to actually stay alive.

I've been thinking about what I could talk about, and since lately I've been watching my partner do his first replay of Veilguard, I thought I'd share of my step-blorbo for a moment:

This is Price (not-Laidir)- because she'll do anything, for a Price. 😉

She's a Lord of Fortune, a mage, and most importantly, not Vashothari, but an honest-to-goodness Tal-Vashoth- she was originally my half-formed concept/idea, but I ~graciously~ handed her over to my partner to actually create and play, lol.

We're still quite early in the game with her (for now all we know is that she does NOT trust the Crows or like Lucanis one bit), but so far the gist of her is that she was raised under the Qun, and was on the cusp of taking up the bindings of a Saarebas (because I refuse to believe they chain children like that- they might abuse the mage kids, sure, but I don't believe they'd literally raise them chained up like cattle) when the Antaam split off. Price (she refuses to tell what her name used to be then) used that chaos and unrest as her opportunity, and escaped on the ship of the first merchant that would take her, landing in Rivain and quickly finding her footing among the Lords. She's still kind of occasionally struggling with Trade as she's only started learning it recently (and from sailors at that, which is kind of not ideal), but she means well.

Originally my idea was for a kind of grizzled, deeply charming, older Qunari woman (...... so the same concept in about 30 years), but my partner has been playing her much younger than that, like mid-twenties, which I'm finding myself quite liking for her as a Taash-kisser. ❤️

..... and there is a place in the back of my mind where she, my Harding-kisser LoF dwarfette Tanner, Harding, and Taash are all in a very happy little polycule together.

3 lords of fortune and a scout. 2 dwarf 2 qunari, a la 2 fast 2 furious. It works very nicely. Many pretty thoughts, like little jewels.

(.... said thoughts come from the same place in my head where the Bellara/Marcus/Neve Genuine Triangle of a Throuple lives. Where you have to ask yourself what kind of absurd game that scrawny nerd must have, to have pulled not just one, but two absolute baddies like that.)

(I mean, come on, he has toothpicks for limbs and two cloves of garlic for an ass, he's just barely not in crushing debt, he flirts like he's reading it from the phonebook, and he gets winded going up a singular flight of stairs. Do they just find him adorably pathetic, like when you find an injured kitten in a soaked-through cardboard box and decide to take it in? Is he just playing at being broke as hell and is secretly some sort of an obscenely wealthy Nevarran princeling? Does he have a monster schlong? What is it???? What could it be?????)

Ok I guess we're doing this again because Slyvasta's art is SO based and it's fanart of something I made again and that makes me go a little insane, if not a little feral, so here we go.

It's spoiler-free once again, so even people who haven't read Song or Rain can look at it. c: It's so freakin' good... I've been wanting to do this all day (gush about it) but I was out of the house all day and I kinda deprived myself of some sleep from looking up motivational/romantic poetry/quotes again so lmfao. Woops.

Major spoilers for my Mikuteto/Negidrill fanfics below, of course! Mainly just fangirling but I'll also be talking about what I've been cooking and their relationship in general and so on, and I think it's better to see that for yourself instead of letting the author spoonfeed everything in her mind to you xD. It won't be 2 hours this time; it'll be like 30 mins to an hour I think 'cuz I'm sleepy (and somewhat restrained yet unrestrained for a moment right now xD) but watch me eat my words. 😂

Fukking gosh do I love Negidrill. Faveshipping fukking rules. I love these two and I've written a couple of journal entries already about how much I love them, but after all the tasty/fun stuff I'm getting 'cuz of Negidrill, I'm getting even more worse about them. xD I digress. I was actually supposed to get UTAU Teto plushie today 'cuz I finally caved and wanted to give my cute "Miku with a leek on her head" plush a friend, but of course there's a delay for some reason and I'm getting her tomorrow, I guess? I don't mind waiting but it's kinda annoying getting my hopes up like that (I'll live of course, I know you're working hard). With that said, waking up to this fanart was such a pleasant surprise... I'll never get over it, I swear. xD I think some people get used to receiving things and start to take it for granted or something if it happens a lot, but I'm not sure if I can be like that: I know you took time out of your day, however much, to draw this (for me???) and I'm incredibly grateful. It's such a lovely piece of art and I'm gonna seriously yap about all the things I love about it right now, but just the act itself is incredibly sweet and touching lol. I actually don't like being too visible sometimes around certain people, especially if I really like their stuff, 'cuz I don't want to put pressure on them or accidentally give them expectations that I can't meet, but when it comes to me, I treat everything like a one-time thing. xD The first time I received fanart about this AU, I was ecstatic, and I'll feel that every time, 'cuz I literally don't expect it. xD I still don't, even though I'm fired up to give these two versions of Miku and Teto more love, but thank you so much, really. xD That's all I'll say about me now I think.

This isn't gonna be an art analysis or anything (even though I do notice lots of things; if there was a competition for how long you can stare at a piece of art [all day], I'm pretty sure I'd win it) but yeah, I'm just gonna talk nonstop about the things I like. 🥰

Hhhgnnhhh , I called her creature-coded earlier but now it feels like she's dragon-coded here...... Which is an incredibly GOOD thing because I'm such a big fan of dragons, like "falls in love with dragons really hard, I might say some weird stuff about them, sorry xD (all clean ofc)", so that's just so freaking cool. My desire to befriend and be around dragons aside, there is nothing I don't love about this drawing of Teto. Honestly, the single horn is a great idea and has really grown on me (I stare at the other fanart often because it's literally on my desk and it's only been like 2 weeks I think lmao), so yeah... In my own drawings of Teto, I wasn't going to include a horn or anything, but this is seriously yummy... I'll draw this version of Teto too, for sure.... I think it's cool; I'm probably not gonna bring up the horn or make references to it in the fic so it's left up to interpretation (just the way I like it), but with or without horn, she's very very cool. 🥰 Having it makes her distinctive tbh; I don't even think about things like "instantly recognizable" or anything, but look, her silhouette goes so hard lol. I love the sharpness in her appearance in general: the spikes at the tips of her wings and obviously the sharp tail... I feel like you nailed the pinnacle of character design here LOL; her silhouette goes SOO SO hard lmao. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

In my own personal idea of Teto, I'm fine with giving her the horn on her head when I feel like it, and the sharp ears too, nice! 😊 But (and this is only how I would draw them btw, not at ALL a critique/attack on yours 'cuz yours is freakin' beautiful and just as valid as mine) since Teto folds her wings a lot (in my head) and is a side sleeper and I want her to hug or be hugged by Miku if I can lead into it naturally enough, I don't want Miku to get stabbed by Teto or anything, so I'd probably keep Teto's wings like the art of the first person who made Song fanart. c: They're hard and cool and I love all spikiness in her design A LOT for real because I think it's incredible gap moe because she's like one of those "prickly but secretly a big softie" types tbh but yeah~. The horn on her head is fine and not a hazard (I especially notice you make her slightly taller than Miku which is NICE, I guess being bigger would benefit her ability to carry Miku in her arms c:) but the wings are always subject to change (for me). c: I love your drawing a lot though for real and there's obviously nothing stopping them from frontal hugs or anything, but when it comes to the "spikiness/danger" of Teto's design/appearance, it's fun thinking about what I vibe with~ (basically all of it ❤).

In my excitement, a lot of thoughts and words are jumbling together now and I'll start saying things out of order before I even introduce them, lol, but we're still talking about Teto here.

Her wings: I've actually been going through a lot of Teto art and when people draw chimera Teto, I've been comparing and contrasting the different ways people color the inside of her wings!! Like this or this or making the wings all black like an actual bat. My words are never canon to the actual story unless I say they are (everything that's canon is in the written text only) so I'm glad I leave things up to interpretation, but gosh, I just wanted to say I've been deliberating over all the ways to color Teto's wings and I'm not freaking sure yet which one to go with wwww. I guess I just need to experiment with it once I carve a chunk of time out and sit and play with colors, but since we're talking about Teto, I wanted to bring up how much I think about her lmao. I like whatever's cool, so I'm leaning towards a pinkish-red, but I also like all-black like the night, so LOL. Indecision, indecision (and not canon anyway, whichever I pick, so it's fine).

The wing hug thing going on in this pic.... How she's draping her wing over Miku.... First of all, that's fukking adorable lmao; I don't see rain I believe so she's just casually standing next to Miku and seemingly doing the equivalent of (trying to) put an arm around her... That's adorable. I need to talk about this because while planning on what to write for "Rain" (the sequel), I also briefly considered having Teto cover Miku with her wings (like an umbrella) 'cuz it's raining, duh, but ya know, then I decided to go all drastic and have Teto absent when it starts raining so by the time she returns, Miku's already being heavily rained on and Teto returned with an umbrella 'cuz she's smart like that. I just wanted to say I had the idea of her covering/putting her wing over Miku too so it's so wonderful that you drew this. 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Teto's wings are fukken cool and I want her to utilize them to their fullest potential; she usually achieves this by flying and being sick in the air but I fukken love wing hugs too for real, I always have, so gosh... Based.

Let's talk about her tail next. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 As I've mentioned before (I swear I did), Teto's tail is one of my favorite parts of her, besides her face and her wings and the rest of her body ofc, and I thoroughly enjoy seeing her tail swishing back and forth/wagging here. ❤♥❤🥰🥰🥰❤❤🥰🥰❤♥ It's so fukken cute. I've reached the point where my ideas outnumber my ability to produce them LOL (reached that point like a month ago tbh), but I actually wanted to create a piece of fanart about THIS Teto and how animal-like she is. I really like animals so I can't resist, I find her SO endearing like this so I apologize about the lowkey furry/scalie business (jk no i dont) but anyway. Continuing with that though, I was gonna compare chimera Teto's many expressions/poses to animals lol. For example, when her tail is wagging, she's very dog-like, like an excited puppy: I would draw her with her tail wagging and next to her would be a drawing/picture of a dog, like a chart. xD

When Teto is surprised/shocked/etc, her tail probably stands on end/straight up or kinda zig-zaggy or something, like a cat with its hackles raised. xD Again, I'd draw Teto in her shocked pose and a cat drawing next to her (imagination/idea) for demonstration. xD

Finally, the last idea I had in this lineup was Teto's wings and owls. xD I think the last emotion might've been like "startled/spooked/alarmed", and her wings would be, like, in a threatening/aggressive pose I think?? xD Like an owl, like this I think. xD

The main takeaway is her entire body is very expressive and she's very animal-like. She's very chimera-like too 'cuz she's imitating/behaving like all these animals, but heeh, yeahh. I jokingly call myself a furry even though I'm more of an animal ears/tail connoisseur instead, and I've had a friend get legit weirded out by how I was talking about cat scents in relation to my anime girl cat AUs lol (it's an AU and they're cats, this is tame and par for the course omg xD 😭), but well, all you have to take away from all this is I think she's cute. She's really cute. This is super cute to me. I wanna pick her up and gently shake her in the air lmao. So cute.

Anyway, the tail wagging thing is adorable and absolutely a thing and I love that you kept that and added that. In fact, even in the first fanart you made, I felt a lot of love over the fact that that seems to be the moment where Teto's lashing her tail in annoyance/anger/frustration/etc., so yeah. I freakin' love her tail, okay?? I guess this is my way of sneaking in my interests and love of animals/cats and applying it to Teto, but that just makes me love her more 'cuz I'm used to writing about/rping cats and I love Teto's expressive tail. I want Miku to pick up Teto's tail and compliment her and be super cute about it. I want Teto to let her do this even though she's secretly embarrassed about it. I want them to be cute togetherrrrr 😭😭😭😭😭

We're just going from one thought to another, but now is a good time to mention that I have an idea for how to start the next part (not how to end it though, lmfao, I never know how to end it until I get there), and I took a stab at writing it once. Will probably rewrite it to make it better since I don't have much down, but I've got some really nice things in mind that I'm genuinely excited to write about, and I wanted to add that I was also thinking about how much of Teto's backstory to reveal and what her backstory actually is. Things like "VIPPER" and "VIPPERloid" came to mind, if you're curious about what exactly was going through my mind lol. As of the time I'm writing this, I think I'm hesitant to talk too much about Teto's past because, to be frank, I'm not sure what I want to make concrete and what I don't. xD I've got ideas, but I don't want them to stamp out other, better ideas, and the focus of the fic is more about Mikuteto in the present, so while I was seriously thinking about the prominence and implications of chimeras in this world, I probably won't be dumping a lot of lore 'cuz the imagination is honestly better, in my mind. I created my fic for gay reasons, not to create a social commentary/actual think piece about the world and humanity, so I will admit one thing... In the first fic, in the scene where Teto's talking about how all of humanity died, I feel like it's a bit on-the-nose and even political (even though it shouldn't be lmfao), so I do actually wince slightly thinking it's a bit too forced/may or may not be out of place in a fic where I mainly want the two characters to get together and be happy, but yeah. It's not like I regret adding that part, nor do I want to change it, but it almost feels like I'm revealing too much what I think, when that's not my main focus or goal. There's a bunch of symbolism that I won't talk about because that part, I won't directly tell the reader besides the basic theme: the analogies and comparisons and all that, the reader can have fun identifying (if they want to)! c: But yeah-- concluding this whole paragraph, the stuff about Teto's backstory again feels forced and makes me frown slightly 'cuz I dunno if I really wanna put it in there. The focus is more on the present rather than talking too much about the past and how we got here, so it's not like I'll avoid Teto's past completely (if she even has a concrete one I decide on and set in stone), but besides the basics, I probably won't go into it much. Gosh, it's impossible for me to write a medium-length post about Ngdrll I guess, but I wanted to talk about it since I don't say it anywhere else and I love these two dearly. I'm thinking all kinds of things about them at all times, and every time someone shows passing interest, I release bits of that into the public in case someone wants to read it and read more. xD

Ok, I'm done talking about Teto I think. Both Teto and Miku are the stars of the show, but Teto especially has a distinctive appearance that changes for each person, so I immediately get giddy about that and compare notes lol. Obviously 100% praise and adoration for depicting your own version of her and showing that to me. I love her. She's incredibly cool. Don't get mad at me for saying this but she's really conventionally attractive (hot) too lmfao. Especially next to Miku. I like couples that look aesthetically pleasing together (I love visuals ok), but I really do enter fangirl mode when I see the characters depicted in such cool and nice ways.

Teto is adorable in this piece because this piece honestly perfectly encapsulates and represents what their relationship is at the moment, which is Teto trying to be cool/nonchalant but also trying to bridge the gap with Miku, but she doesn't know how to deal with her honestly so I wonder if she's, like, testing the waters here lmao. She's not even touching Miku, just covering her with a wing for some reason and there's no rain from what I can see and Miku is fine without being protected from some wind, so isn't this just Teto trying to get closer to her? xD The fact that she's standing so close when there's like literally so much open space surrounding them-- that's hilarious. xD You can't play that off. wwwww I know what you are

The tail movement too is absolutely cute 'cuz I loove that Teto expresses her emotions and excitement through her tail and you can bet it's gonna give her away a lot. Miku doesn't know how to read Teto's tail yet but Miku is literally a robot and will create a mini internal dictionary/classification system for Teto's different tail poses so Teto is doing herself no favors by being so transparent with her tail. Miku's not gonna figure her out immediately, ofc, it'll take time to build up, but I'm amused by the idea of Teto herself not even knowing what her own tail movements mean and Miku just casually pointing them out.

"What are you worried about right now?"

"What?"

"Your tail. It's indicating that you're worried about something."

"Wha... Huh...? You got that just from my tail??" What else do you know about me from my tail... (sweats)

Anyway. Fukking damn it. I can't stop writing when I get excited. Now you know how much brainrot I have for these two (this isn't even all of it; I'm not even freaking done, augghhh, Teto plushie get here already so I can work while you monitor me and force me to stay on task), but yeah, in regards to Teto, my current idea of her is that she's like the guarded, cool, gruff, sharp, prickly, detached type. You can especially tell how cool/tough/sharp she is from her appearance (hard black wings, sharp ears and horn if you're looking at Slyvasta's drawing, probably more of a narrowed eyes expression and wearing some kind of frown or indifferent look). With that said though, she's still playful (makes jokes, can laugh, teased Miku twice but had her jokes fail to land both times 'cuz Miku is oblivious lol, etc.). She's basically the nice, playful, mischievous Teto but she got a lot more guarded/negative/gloomy/depressed after the "apocalypse" happened, so... It's just cute to see how Miku brings out more of the original, happy Teto. And I love the gap moe of Teto being really attached to Miku but trying not to act like it 'cuz she has all kinds of doubts and worries and obviously doesn't wanna scare Miku away or be too vulnerable and regret it or anything. Augh, let's summarize.

Teto is cute. The way you drew Teto is cute. I felt a lot of the cuteness from looking at her. Incredible. She's adorable and I need someone to love her. She needs to be loved lmao. All of the cuteness is just oozing out. I can't be normal about her 'cuz I love her, but the cuter she is, the more abnormal I get about her. I'm in fangirl mode so please forgive me. wwww There's a reason I'm not going around linking to this in my fic, 'cuz while hopefully you see my passion for these two in my writing, you don't need to know just how deep it goes unless you're particularly curious. I'm just really fond of them and find them cute, okay? I'll check the word count of this after I'm done getting all of this out of my system. Sorry for being in love with them I guess lmfao.

This isn't a "Teto only" post. Miku is obviously cute as well! And I love her! And I definitely notice the android-like parts of her body in the drawing. c: Seeing how people interpret Miku is nice too, of course~. ♥ Naturally I love the absolutely cheery expression on her face. ❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Clearly she doesn't mind Teto's close proximity to her because they're Best Buds™ but this is getting me down a certain train of thought that I really love, hahahaha. xD But I love the idea of Miku just being absolutely dense asf in the fic, which is both relieving and not for Teto. xD I'm not sure if Teto is romantically competent enough to know how to even "make a move" on a robot (a robot, LOL, I've been thinking so much about it LOOL), but besides Miku obviously being Teto's light in an otherwise dark and dreary/hopeless world, Miku is already characterized as the type to not understand something unless she experiences it directly (sarcasm, songs, the weight of death, the strong impact of her own words, etc.), so even though I said "Miku will most likely lead all of the romantic development", Miku will most likely be doing it without even realizing it??? LOOL.

In other words, Miku (in this fic and also I like this interpretation in general) pulls Teto along in a way that I find absolutely moe (endearing). Now that I think about it, I think I need to give Teto an existential crisis over the idea that she's fallen in love with a robot (literal machine), but we can also turn that into a beautiful analogy about falling in love with "fake" (fictional) characters/things in general, so you may be able to imagine why this AU is near and dear to my heart.

ANYHOW, in the context of this pic, I think it's funny if Miku doesn't even notice Teto's wing and is just "no thoughts head empty"-ing about the music coming from the Walkman in her hands. xD Speaking of the Walkman that's appeared more than once now, I will now give you the exact model (the video that I watched while I was writing this part of the story) in case you want to see it, but obviously and like I said, I adore interpretation, so you can imagine it any way you want. The same way the music box depicted in the first fanart I received, it was actually bigger than I expected (I love it though, don't get me wrong ❤) and I can show you the exact model of that too, but I'll do it when I get more time to make fanart, okay~? After I finish writing long ass posts like this. I write most of this for myself too tbh because even though this is all stored in my head, it might be forgotten, so now I can just look at my posts and be like, "Oh yeah, I had this in mind and already talked about this" lol.

Tldr to all of that is even though Miku likes Teto very much for obvious reasons (helped her, is her friend, is her only friend, lmao), I love the idea that she's completely unaware of Teto's feelings towards her 'cuz it's very very likely that's 100% true. xD I'm not sure if Teto even wants to catch feelings? xD So the likelihood of Teto being at the "They just killed themself 40 times in their head at the idea of being in love" part of the "Worst Ship Chart Ever" is not at 0, hahahaha.

What can I say. I need to psychoanalyze these two to oblivion. I need 80-90k words of more pining and slowburn before I'm satisfied. It will take a long time but that's what I need to do to be satisfied. xD I can't be fast about this. wwww. But I'm happy I got another chance to talk about it lol; I'm still a fandom/art account and fanfiction counts as art, but this is NOT a text (only) blog, so I'm still trying to make more visual art/drawings. xD So that's why I don't go wild with lore dumps like "btw, I had another thought about these two in the AU, listen to me" lol. It needs to be triggered like a key or I just keep it all in my journal forever. xD Ugh, this got long again...

Final thing before I shut up now. xD Another fun/amusing thing happened and it's related to Miku, so maybe I can balance the Teto fangirling a little by talking more about Miku.

Miku loves songs and loves to sing them, so while I wasn't gonna turn this into a songfic and start adding songs to every chapter/fic, I did think a lot about what songs she might sing, of course. And I've been thinking for a long time that "On Melancholy Hill" by Gorillaz is SO Mikuteto coded (in this AU).

Miku would be standing on a pile/hill of trash and happily singing to the world (with her hand outstretched like the idol she is) and Teto would be near/behind/around her somewhere, just watching and feeling happy 'cuz Miku is such a good singer and everything Miku does is wonderful and the song is really sweet too.

I was immensely amused when I found out. It's not like I'm picking niche songs or anything, a Miku and Luka version of "Boats and Birds" exists too so so far, every song I've chosen, someone actually made (things like Melt are famous though, I hope you know about Melt's lore lol) so yeah... Even this song, which I thought was so "them-coded" legitimately has a Miku cover....

It's a really great cover~. It's actually not what I had in mind 'cuz it's a bit too remixed (as an obvious remix lol) with reverb and effects and stuff ("my" Miku mostly sings without instrumental accompaniment and her voice alone is the melody), but it's really cool that this exists!! ❤

I listened to this a lot today on loop (I listened to it the whole time I was writing this too, lol, to remind me to make the points about it), but I feel like the Mikuteto-ness of this song especially shows in the instrumental... In particular, when you start, I like to think Miku is like/represented by the xylophone-like sounds in this song. They start at 0:40 and I really like them in this song: they're gentle and sweet like she is and it helps really explain how she's like the balm to all of the world's (and Teto's) hurt lol.

Speaking of Miku's "influence/representation" in this song, which I think is very "this fic-coded", I'm trying not to be mean or sadistic or anything, but I keep feeling like the easiest and fastest way to progress things is to just keep having things happen to Miku fhshdlkfsdf

The fear of losing someone is an impediment to romance, actually, in my opinion, 'cuz you're motivated by fear instead of love, so I'm not actually gonna go through with hurting Miku (I would never hurt this sweet summer child lol), but I hope you get what I mean lol. "Miku got injured and now Teto must fix her" and "Miku is experiencing difficulties and Teto must help her", etc. etc. I don't want to turn this fic into a formula like that, but the reason it's the easiest way to progress things is 'cuz Miku essentially has Teto in the palm of her hand/wrapped around her finger so 🤷‍♀️. In my eyes, if you want significant stuff to happen, just do stuff to her Miku, lmao. The reason I bring this up in the song is 'cuz that "xylophone sound" doesn't appear throughout it and if you REALLY want to make this the soundtrack of the fic, that implies Miku is missing or something. xD Are we really gonna go the WALL-E route and have something happen to Miku for real? Pls. xD (I'm thinking about it, but in case no one's picked it up, my fic is also WALL-E inspired. I rewatched WALL-E recently after receiving fanart of my fic again probably because that movie is art.)

Negidrill/Mikuteto is so beautiful and I'm really happy if people like what I'm making of them lol. The reason I'm also additionally really flattered is 'cuz I really don't see myself as above any other Negidrill fan, so I know our space is small, but I think other people should get fanart too 'cuz their stuff rocks. (All the Mesmerizer stuff has been fun; did you know I've become a REAL Mesmerizer fan too lately? It was after I got into this ship, so the order is different from a lot of newer fans, but I even changed my discord pfp to Mesmerizer Miku 'cuz it's August and Miku's birthday month, so I'm really a real Mesmerizer fan now. xD Hoping to make my Mesmerizer fanart contributions sometime soon, even if all the hype dies down. xD)

ANYWAY, the way I'm writing is way too unorganized lmao, but basically, this "End of the World" AU really did come to me on a whim, so I'm absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the idea that I've received 3 drawings for it so far. 😭😭😭😭 It's not like I need more to continue or anything, and if people want to use it as a way to bribe me to write, it's absolutely working, but I find it incredibly flattering because while I love my own fic/idea for obvious reasons, I'm really surprised by the idea of other people liking it as much as me. xD I have my own personal reasons for liking what I made, besides the obvious "I made that !! Yeah!!!" feelings, but I wonder what other people are thinking... I'm really happy when you share your thoughts with me, and I'm really happy x2 when they're positive!

My writing style isn't particularly fancy or anything (to me, it feels a bit plain, even though I try to aim for a certain cadence when writing and enjoy it myself), but I like to think I'm not so bad at coming up with ideas, and I gotta say, I came up with one lately that made me really excited!!!

The good news is that it's really cute and fluffy (imo), it's legit yuri (not the yuribait stuff-- real yuri lol), and it's awesome, whether it's written or it's drawn... I want to do both........

The bad news is because it's like a "level 3" action on the romance scale (level 1 being the tame stuff like handholding, level 2 being hugging maybe, and level 3 being any kind of kissing), it's way WAY too soon to introduce a scene like that wwww. Dammit. But I want to see it. But I also want to lead up to it. But I don't want to spoil it. But I still want to see it already, hahahahaha. xD

Okay, on the level of yuribait, I guess it's like half yuribait 'cuz this is dense android Miku we're talking about, but it's a scene that I like very much 'cuz I love lesbians lmao. Don't get your hopes up or anything and think I'm finally gonna add grandiose romantic gestures in like "chapter 3" (the third fic), but the reason I'm saying this is if you're waiting on me, I'm definitely cooking? Lol. It will take time, but I'll do my best to get there. I really don't want to burn out and have to step away, but given everything I've already written so far, I think that's a clear indicator that rather than burning out, I need an outlet for this and the main thing stopping me is adult responsibilities lol. On the bright side as an adult, I feel like I can write fics that really delve into my own idea of love, since I'm a sucker for Mktt being my ideal and all that. xD

Titans: Season 4 - Ep 12: Finale, Dickkory + Whole Show - Thoughts

Oof, this is gonna be a long ass post. I'm gonna put into words my thoughts on the finale, my thoughts on dickkory in the finale as well as dickkory in general in the show and lastly a few thoughts on Titans as a whole since it began 4 years ago.

No word of a lie, I just sat and rewatched the finale with a notebook, noting every. single. thought. So... buckle up and good luck if you're gonna try reading to the end. XD

Episode 12: Titans Forever (Series Finale)

So, first, I'm just gonna talk about the finale without gushing over Dickkory. I will, obviously but I'm gonna separate them out.

I love that it got straight back into the action with little to no filler. Filler stuff fucks me off when you're so close to the end like in a finale, there should be no filler and for that, Titans got points from me.

I really liked that Rachel did her lil soul self projection - that was cool and not something we've seen her do before in the show (I don't think) so I found that a cool thing to throw in rather than having Kory just blow the door up which let's face it, still would have been boss af.

Lmao, Sebastian continues to be just such a little whiny bitch. XD I've said it every week but he's just so annoying. Don't get me wrong, I think Joseph Morgan did it well and he is a good actor but God, Sebastian is just so unlikeable for me. He fucking sucks and if I was in STAR labs, I would have thrown a punch like FUCK. The only time I was nervous of him was when he had my girl Kory for a hot minute. I did not enjoy that.

LOL. Trigon got like 2 mins of screen time and was then just gone. It was hilarious to me, I gotta be honest. Like Trigon was built up and then just got hacked by his son lmaooo. It had me laughing, ngl. Drinking the blood from his heart was weird af but was in keeping with the rest of the Blood cult and what the show has shown them to be like including Sebastian but still. Grim.

I really loved the title intro; how the images on the TITANS was the core four and then flashed as usual to the four of them from season 1. Idk if that was intentional but it felt like it and I appreciated it a lot.

GAR'S CRYING FACE THROUGHOUT THIS FUCKING EPISODE. MY POOR BABY, GOD DAMN IT. Conner's 'death', Kory's 'death'... like fuck give him a break.

GLAD TO FINALLY SEE GOOD BOI KRYPTO. I was wondering where the heck he had been, honestly. Good to see him there at the end. XD

Lmao, so I get it was to show like Dick was hopeful Conner would be okay but him whipping out his phone to make a dinner reservation had me cackling like bro, pick a better moment pls. Out of context, that would be so fucking funny. XD

I adored Tim's little rejoin with the team. He is such a Robin nerd, I love him. Everyone smirking like the cutie he is was sweet af.

Also really loved Kory and Rachel's power merge. It did fuck all cos he wasn't actually there but it made me happy. My girls. <3

I really liked the explanation from Calliope about how powerful Kory really can be - Her strength is always downplayed in every media format, I swear. It fucks me off so badly. The woman can literally go toe to toe with Superman ffs like acknowledge her power, DC, you little bitch. God.

Kory getting controlled was a no no for me. When her eyes went red and she went a' wandering, I was like NOOO KORY! STOPPP! SNAP OUTTA IT!

I really liked the scene with Kory and Sebastian like my heart was racing and in my mouth cos it was like don't fucking touch her, you psycho but the tension was really good in that scene, I thought.

I won't lie, some scenes were weirdly paced however, I think it would work fine if you were binge watching the whole season. I like that it's straight in but it felt a tad all over the place in some parts but again, I don't think it would be an issue if you're just watching all the episodes together.

"You're no God." - Fucking GET HIM, Kory. Get wrecked, Sebastian, you glorified mama's boy.

The team takedown of the metahuman assault squad was rad; I loved the teamwork and the moves and it felt good to watch. I very much enjoyed it.

"I won't help you destroy my home - Either one of them" - Oh, Kory <3 You literally are such a sweetheart and I loved that it wasn't left to be ambiguous like gasp, which did she mean?

I DID NOT AND DO NOT APPRECIATE KORY IN PAIN. FUCK OFF.

Gar & Tim's friendship gives me life. They're just such bros; the shoulder taps and smirks like they are SUCH boys. I love them.

I SNORTED at the way Dick just pops outta nowhere and sucker punches Sebastian. It was so funny. XD

"For the record, that game you made fucking sucks." LOL TIM, my fucking soul mate. I was DYING. XD

Gar almost getting dragged into the wormhole had me on EDGE. Like, not my sweet, cinnamon boy, no thank you.

Rachel waking Kory; I was SOBBING. The flashes of Kory memories. My actual heart hurt.

Nightwing literally fighting until he is deadass on the floor was giving me life. We love to see a determined fool.

Superboy showing up last minute was pretty dope like a secret weapon, I liked it and was wondering like is Conner gonna appear orrr...? XD

LOL Conner with Tim & Gar was cute and great. "Wait, was I dead?" and Tim brushing it off like, "I'll explain later" had me creasing.

My God, Kory's sudden power up and her just soaring straight through the fucking roof had be cheering loudly like it was the best and is a favourite scene by loads. It was so frickin' cool and something I like to see Kory do in shows and movies and shit cos she is just so slept on by DC. She is fucking amazing and yet... we never get to see her like that or very rarely. I loved it.

The kids' sad faces when Kory is like 'No' to throwing Sebastian through the wormhole. I die. Rachel especially - Her face was so sad and if you look closely, you can see Rachel is like sobbing but trying to restrain her emotions after Kory lets go of her hand. She knew. She knew what mama Kory was gonna do.

Honestly, this scene with Kory still making the sacrifice was hard on my emotions and was the one that had me closest to tears - I was full on at the edge of crying ugly ass tears.

Kory's supernova was perfect to me. Like, yes, look at that damn powerhouse goddess.

Ryan's crying face had me wanting to cry this whole episode, omg.

Firstly... the Christmas scene is so weirdly placed, I thought and I have to say it. I don't get, and I've seen others question this too, if it's meant to be a flashback or a future vision. I assume it's the end of S3 cos Kory's hair, Tim isn't yet there, Rachel's hair is purple still... but Dickkory?? EXCUSE ME that is a bit cozy for just friends? Dick's hand on her waist and they are literally standing so close together wtf?? It was so freakin' cute regardless but yeah, it felt randomly placed. I agree, it should have been maybe used as a flash forward instead? Idk.

I keep mentioning it but GAR CRYING HAD MY HEART BREAKING EVERY TIME.

The float back down from space and the focus on her - Just really made me smile cos like it reminds me why Kory is and will forever be my favourite DC character and just fictional character in general. Thanks to Anna like Titans Kory has joined the roster for my top versions of Kory, idgaf what anyone thinks. I love her.

THE GROUP HUG. I AM A MESS.

The dinner scene was so bittersweet like it makes sense for the young ones to go - it was foreshadowed multiple times for each of them really but I was so sad. I not like team splits. I recently watched a new hero movie... hint hint where this is the same ending and I sobbed in the cinema. I hate these endings but I also get it. Like I said, bittersweet.

Gar embracing The Red & doing something for him felt right and a 'Good for him' moment.

Rachel going to college!! I like the Bludhaven Easter egg - it made me smile.

Tim is such a cutie and I really love Jay's portrayal of him.

Love Krypto sat at the fucking table of this fancy ass restaurant lmaooo.

I really loved the finale, I will be honest. I really didn't have issues with it other than the small few I've listed. Like, I wish we had more time with the characters but the episode ending left me on a high but that could be cos it ended on my babies... It felt like an upbeat way to end the series and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Episode 12: Titans Forever (Series Finale) - Dickkory & DK Thoughts

So, I'm gonna basically do the same as above. Ima go through the episode and just gush about the DK scenes lmao.

I really did feel like there was Dickkory moments in every scene. There were individual scenes but I felt it was always there in the background. All of Dick's choices and his motivations etc, I felt like he always had Kory in his mind, personally.

The freakin' RV scene with them had me feeling all kinds of ways. It had me giggling and tearing up. The banter about them first meeting and her stealing his car!! I am so happy that that got brought up since we never really had them talk about those things after S1. For a while, it felt like it just got retconned. Glad to see it was not and they reflected on it.

Dick's fucking sad eyes and his broken way of being like, "Please, don't." I die. Brenton expressions especially when Dick is with Kory have always been so top tier, I stg.

LOL, when they learn about Project Icarus, Dick's eyes keep shifting back and forth to Kory as if being like "Fuck, wifey so gon' be big mad."

UGH. The "Kory, wait!" when she leaves the RV and is getting into the porche. The way he calls and runs out after her felt very reminiscent of S1 in Angela's house after she attacks Rachel. Like, mmm, yes. It felt similar and I adored it.

Dick & Kory's continued banter in the porche. Their serious af conversation about what they're going to intermingled with the reference yet again to his car and how they're even for his car and Dick's smirk... I loved it sm.

I loved that Kory checked his ass about Project Icarus when he got into the porche before she could drive off. He's so quick to be like, "Babe, I didn't even know nothing." XDDD Honestly, it's giving husband and wife. It had me dying.

"We're stronger together; you know we are." - STOP IM SOBBING. I really loved that line.

Dick's eyes are literally trained on Kory so. much. in this episode. He is concerned af and I am so here for it.

Dick's concern in the lab when she is awol is so cute like he is STRESSIN' but we love to see it.

LOL, Dick at the doors like, "BERNARD!" Like fuck man, give him a second! XD He called out like 3 times and was so impatient, it was hilarious. He was really giving, "My wife is in there with a psycho pls open the fucking doors." XD

Dick's fighting was so love fuelled, i don't care what anyone says. He literally fights like not my alien Princess, you don't, you dick! xD I'm probs delusional but all I could think was Dick's more pissed cos Kory is in danger.

Dick was so hopeful after Sebastian went down. He was like woo, yeah, we did it, it's over. Let's throw him into space, no dead Kory today. And she is just like... I'm sorry and dfhjhsdlkh. I was in pain. You can see him crumbling and is still trying to find ways for her not to do this. I had full on tears in my eyes.

The face caress like... it's so painful. He looks so crestfallen. I cannot.

"I don't know how to do that... I can't" - He sounded so broken, my poor dumbass!! I was in pain with this whole sequence.

Dick's tearfilled eyes - I was honestly so emosh; Anna and Brenton did that scene so well.

I really love the pause on Dick whilst they think Kory is dead like it's as if he knows or legit just cannot fathom Kory being gone.

HIS LIL WALK BACK OVER TO HER ONCE SHE COMES DOWN FROM SPACE. IT WAS A WALK WITH PURPOSE. You CANNOT tell me he wasn't instantly like, "Ima kiss her" when she came back to Earth. He had that determination in his eyes. She was getting thoroughly kissed.

THE KISS!!!!! SQUEEEEEE. Guys, I fucking died. I know it was a very long time coming and overdue but it was a good kiss. Dick diving in for a second kiss made me melt. I loved it.

The boys all grinning in the back had me smilinggg. Whether it was cos mom and dad were kissing or cos Kory wasn't dead, Idc it was cute.

Kory's lil 'Whoa' after the kiss was so adorable.

THE HAND ON HER BACK. Dick's hand was glued to her as they went over for the group hug. He was not letting go and it was... so cute.

Honestly, Dick's heart eyes again at Dinner where she's like "Guess you never know what the future holds" and his smile like fuck man, she's yours. Quit it alreadyyy!

Sighhh, the whole conversation when they were alone was great and I espesh loved, "They're not even leaving us Krypto" XD

The 'It's weird' 'What? You and I alone together?' was cute and ughhhhh I was dying.

The damn stroller with the red balloon. We see you, Titans. GOD! I liked that we got the subtle hint without a flashforward to having had Mar'i. I put this in the tags of a reblog and like I would have still sobbed at that but I like the subtle route a lot.

LOL DICK's "Maybe we should get on that" HAD ME CHOKING HAHAHA like BRO, you are leaping ahead. Even Kory took a minute looking at him like is this guy for real rn?? Man went from 'I don't do feelings' to 'I've picked the paint for our baby's nursery' lightning fast XDDD. But, they defo went home after and slept together after those drinks. You can't convince me otherwise.

They were so giddy and cutesy. Like, ugh I'm not over it. I'm on such a dickkory high.

I LOVE the ending on the bridge. Sunshine Kory skipping ahead and holding hands with and dragging her smiley yet grumpy Dick along. It just felt so them and the little bubbly action from Kory felt VERY her. Like it really sang, Kory to me.

I'm so happy they ended with Dickkory in a place so happy and in love - it rarely happens in DC so I am thrilled.

Guys, I know at times, it felt neverending and I'm with other DK fans. I really wish they had done this with Dickkory earlier in the show, I really do. I feel like we could have skipped some exes and other shit and got to this point with them a lot sooner but it is what it is.

I'm actually just so happy that they ended it on such a fluffy, lighthearted note for them. Like, they are so loved up at the end of the show and it just makes me happy that we got that. Could they have done more with them through the whole show? Absolutely. Could they have gotten to this point with them earlier? Also, absolutely.

But, I am grateful for the moments through each season that we got with them. Like, I think if I was to rewatch from S1, bearing in mind that Dick's basically been a goner since the night at the motel in S1, I feel like the seasons and episodes would feel different.

I'm just really grateful that I have another show that gave me dickkory content. I've followed them through multiple versions. TT Cartoon, DCAU, comics, TT Cartoon comics, TTG (in parts), Live action... like I just love them in every universe, including this one even if it's been trying at times.

But, there was nothing ambiguous about this ending for me. The point is to end them on a high all giggly and happy and thoroughly in love. I look forward to the fic writers for live action dickkory to cook up some beautiful fics after this just to keep the joy going.

I WISH there could have been an S5 to see Dick and Kory in an actually established place but that's what imaginations are for and luckily for me, I can imagine dickkory scenarios til the cows come home XD.

I've really enjoyed this version of them. It's been different but I still love them. I love Brenton as Dick and Anna as Kory respectively and I think their chemistry has worked so well in this show and it doesn't hurt that they are so close in real life. It's really sweet.

Idk, I have no issues with how they were ended. I was scared we wouldn't get a kiss but that kiss was adorable and ugh the last scene on the bridge just makes me so smiley, even now after hours of rewatching it XD

Titans - Whole Show - Thoughts

I have always been very back and forth with Titans, I won't lie and tbh, anyone that follows me or knows me, knows that I've dipped in and out of Titans constantly.

However, going into Titans, I have ALWAYS said from day dot one that I was watching it for three specific things. Kory, Gar & Dickkory. That was it, hence I've never really cared for much beyond those things so my opinion will be wildly different from others, I am sure.

Season 1 got me invested. I loved the core four; hated the fucking pigeons and will die on my hill that they were a waste of screen time. But, our core four were the best thing about the first season, it was amazing.

Season 2 I enjoyed greatly but I did pull back a little but there were moments that brought me back in. And, there were some characters like Donna that reeled me back in cos I love her and I enjoyed hers and Kory's friendship as well as her friendship with Dick. I liked the storyline since Slade has always been a Titans douchebag but we love him.

Season 3, lmao, I dropped, I won't lie. I watched pieces from mutuals and sought out scenes and episodes of interest but honestly, it died a little for me in S3. It was based in Gotham and it had a tiny rekindle of another ship which... I saw zero value in doing. I was so anti season 3 lmao.

Season 4 pulled me right back in as it reminded me of S1. We'd lost the annoying af birds and it was back to core four plus Tim and Conner but like I was fully on board for them cos they didn't deter from the team vibe. Whereas, other side characters absolutely did and it was frustrating. Season 4 has definitely been my favourite season in the show.

It probably goes Seasons 4, 1, 2 & 3 tbh.

I've always had issues with Titans in various forms but y'know what? Overall, I've loved watching it. I wish some things had done better but I still loved the show that was given to fans overall.

I'm so sad it's ended but I am glad to have had some fan interactions through the course of the show. Dickkory fans especially know the DK desert is dry af most of the time so this was really nice to have the tag vibing most of the time.

I'm sad to see the show go and I hope we don't have to wait long to get something else Titans related that isn't a fucking backwards af comic from the assholes at DC. The irony, huh? XD

Thanks, Titans. It's been fun.

Dickkory friends, I look forward to forthcoming art and fics to read cos I need them to keep me on the high for the next few weeks. XD

Winter 2024 Superlatives

Well the Winter 2024 season is drawing to a close so let's do a round-up! I wanna do this more consistently so let's go!

Show of the Season: It's Frieren dummy it's gotta be Frieren I mean come on FRIEREN

Best show that actually started this season and isn't a holdover from last one: Delicious in Dungeon! I mean what is there even to say other than "I'm so glad it's going for two cours and I hope it gets a season 2 after that"?

Best non-Frieren holdover show: The Apothecary Diaries. Sorry, Undead Unluck, I love you too, and you are still the holder of "show that most should've been bigger", but Apothecary Diaries is just SO GOOD!!! I'm so glad we're getting more next year I need more Maomao in my life

Biggest surprise: BANG BRAVE BANG BRAVERN. HOLY SHIT. I just wanna thank everyone involved because this is exactly the kind of wild gay shit I need more of in my life!!! Every week, I was like, "this couldn't possibly get better, or gayer (they are the same thing)" and then IT DID???????? Legendary, a true AOTY contender!

Runner up: 7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!! I went into this one just because I'm a slut for time loops without any real expectations but it's actually really good! Rishe is such a good protagonist and, like her, I want to know more about Arnold! I hope this one gets another season! Also the author is on Twitter and she's so happy about how well the series is doing here it's so cute

Best sequel: This is tough because I love Blue Exorcist and this arc specifically and I'm really happy we got this season and that we're getting another one as well, but I think I may have to give this one to Bottom Tier Character Tomozaki-kun? Tomozaki-kun has done such a good job continuing to be like, anime self-help, but also just being like, a good story, about characters who feel like real people? I truly hope to follow Tomozaki-kun and his friends to at least their high school graduation, because they are so fun and interesting and realistic!

Best second cour: There's literally only one show in this category but I'll always take an opportunity to talk up Synduality: Noir! This cour made me CRY!

Show that most should've been twice as long as it is: Metallic Rouge! I like the show we have, but I do feel it would've been even better if it had at least two cours and thus more room to breathe. It's a shame the anime industry is in a place where a cool original show like this can't really go for more than one cour...

Show that I started watching hoping for delicious garbage but actually it was pretty good: Gushing Over Magical Girls. LOOK, I KNOW, OKAY. BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD? I mean obviously the fetish shit is all there for you if you're into that but even if you're not it's not a TERRIBLE watch. I actually liked the characters and some of the shenanigans they got into!

Show I started watching hoping for delicious garbage AND BOY DID I GET IT: Chained Soldier. LOL this show is super dumb but it knows exactly what it is and god bless it for that. Sasuga Takahiro.

Most oddly comfy: Surgeon Elise. This villainess re-sekai isn't reinventing the wheel or anything but I adore Elise and her passion for medicine, and the soft color palette creates a great atmosphere. Definitely the best Korean webnovel adaptation this season.

Best romance: A Sign of Affection. Finding a boy who loves you in spite of your disability? Yuki is living my dream, I want what they have! I want to go on a date to Anime Costco!!! I'd really like another season of this...

Wettest fart: Solo Leveling. My coworker is obsessed with this series so I decided to watch it but I do NOT understand the hype. I mean it looks good enough and the music is great because Sawano but in the end it's just ANOTHER lame power fantasy about a dude who sucks but then becomes the most bestest strongest hottest coolest most amazing dude EVAR. Big "and everyone clapped" energy, especially as it goes on. This is just... slop. It's slop for the pig trough. You are pigs gobbling whatever garbage is placed in front of you. Have some fucking discernment.

Most excited for next season: Other than MORE DUNMESHI, I'm really excited for Konosuba 3 and Black Butler: Boarding School Arc, and as for non-sequels I'm looking forward to Kaijuu No. 8, the Spice & Wolf reboot, Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night, and Mysteries, Maidens, and Mysterious Disappearances.

your analysis are really interesting and are a joy to read! i wanted to ask about your thoughts on the tokyo blade arc of the manga because its really interesting and gives a lot of characters more depth

thank u so much anon! 🥺 I feel like I've said this in like every ask but it really does surprise and delight me how many people vibe with my longform takes on the series when the extent of my fandom engagement for the last few years has been talking about fate grand order in a group chat comprised of like 5 other gay people LMAO

That said, Tokyo Blade is... an arc I have mixed feelings on! It was, in fact, the arc I originally dropped the manga on back when I was first following it in 2020/2021 feeling it was poorly paced and that I wasn't able to get invested in the cast to the degree it wanted me to me. But upon revisiting the series and this arc in particular with fresh eyes, I think I was being pretty unfair to it - though I do stand by my feeling of the pacing being not the best at least when reading it week to week. It's one of those arcs that definitely works better when you can take it all in at once as opposed to having it doled out over what felt like an agonizingly slow 30+ weeks.

As for my current feelings... in isolation I think it's extremely strong and has some incredible moments that I am PUMPED for seeing animated in season 2 but the further we get away from it and see its long term effects on the cast (or I should say, the lack thereof) the more I feel like it ultimately adds up to less than the sum of its parts.

Not that it's a bad arc, mind! Like I said, it has some insanely strong individual moments and I think the character arcs it ends up serving are super interesting. Its commentary is compelling and I literally can't gush enough about the massive glowup Melt gets in this arc. Every time I have new friends get into the series and understandably react with derision towards him in Sweet Today I just sit there crying tears of blood like that's my fucking baby son you don't understand

I also just really appreciate that the arc is willing to slow down and just let us breathe in some of the emotional baggage the characters are all dealing with without needing to shackle it to Aqua's revenge quest. Even the side characters like the mangakas and the production staff feel like they have real, human lives beyond the ways they factor into the plot and again, it feels like there are real weight and stakes to ensuring the play's success beyond just whether or not it will help Aqua do a thing. So many people's careers (and by extension, their lives) are hanging in the balance and you feel the weight of that responsibility absolutely crushing everyone involved. It's great!

This is potentially a sillier point to add but can I also say that I really like how authentic Tokyo Blade feels as an in-universe piece of fiction LOL. Everything from the premise to the designs rings so fucking true to the exact sort of manga it's a pastiche of that I'm half expecting to hear about the Studio Bones Tokyo Blade anime adaptation announcement any day now because it feels so real to me.

On the less positive side, though... like I said, this arc is s l o w. I believe it's still Oshi no Ko's longest arc at three volumes's worth of chapters and change and it's such a change to the story's until-then relatively breezy pace that it can be really jarring when you go in not expecting it. Again, having the arc available in full to read as quick or slow as you like does a lot to alleviate this problem but if you aren't connecting with it, you're stuck with it for an incredibly long time. This also means that B-Komachi in general and Ruby in specific get completely side-lined for almost thirty entire chapters - Ruby basically vanishes during this entire arc and if you were invested in and excited about her as a character, it sucks to see her get so immediately and completely sidelined after what felt like a big triumphant step forward for her, which is a pattern that will unfortunately continue through the rest of the series.

And speaking of unfortunate patterns... Tokyo Blade is the arc where Akane starts taking steps towards becoming the version of herself I like the least lmao. I've said to friends elsewhere that short hair/LoveNow!Akane and long hair/post Tokyo Blade!Akane basically feel like completely different characters to me and while I really love and am invested in LoveNow!Akane, PTB!Akane is easily my least favourite member of the main cast for reasons that are not entirely her fault.

She doesn't quite achieve her final form in Tokyo Blade arc but the seeds of my worst future annoyances with her (lack of meaningful connection to the extended cast, largely just orbiting Aqua, the overly convenient nature of her deductions, etc) start to take root here. There are some teases of interesting ideas and I particularly enjoy the build up, development and reveal of the true nature of her rivalry with and animosity for Kana but I don't feel like these bear any long term fruit.

That's probably my biggest problem with Tokyo Blade - it feels like an arc that should massively advance the story and the arcs of all the characters associated with it. In some ways it does and we get some tasty crumbs about the central mystery but when you take a step back and really look, the broad strokes status quo of the plot and the character relationships really don't get much of a shakeup and even the things that do feel like they should lead to big changes (Akane figuring out Ai's secret, Aqua finding his half-brother, Kana getting her shine back and Akane's reaction) just kind of... don't? Or at least not in ways that are as impactful as they feel they should be.

Kana and Akane's rivalry is probably the worst example of this. It's built up across the whole arc to the point of their on-stage confrontation basically being the arc's climactic high point. Kana finally stepping into the spotlight again and outshining Akane so beautifully really feels like it should have served as a gigantic change to their dynamic but not only have they barely interacted in any meaningful capacity since it happened, but the times they have it's just been the same old shit of hostility and sniping at each other with the tiny flavour difference of "oh gosh, akane is just such a tsundere tee hee <3". It just doesn't feel like the meaningful, impactful change it should have been based on how hard the end of that arc made me FEEL it.

I've said elsewhere before that a lot of the characters feel sort of like they've been stuck in holding patterns since Tokyo Blade and I'm hoping that in the Movie arc, with the cast being crunched together into a single, extremely emotionally taxing and relevant project, it might shake a bit of life back into the proceedings, especially given that Aka has said that he thinks the manga's ending is probably within sight - though that could be anything from fifty to a hundred more chapters depending on what he's got planned so who knows how things might shake out.

I do ultimately feel more positively about the arc than negative, though! I feel like I rambled a lot more about the things I dislike here than the things I enjoyed but that's because I feel like the arc's strengths speak for themselves while the stuff I don't like as much needed a bit more explaining. At the end of the day, I think Tokyo Blade is a really solid arc that I'm beyond excited to see animated - it has one of my favourite scenes in the whole manga (given that I am an Ai enjoyer you can uh, probably guess which one it is) and I'm really hopeful that we might get a sneaky peek at a certain someone if season 2 ends at the point I suspect it might...
