Have you watched Murder Drones, and if so what’s your opinion on it?
Also your art is great, keep it up.
Thank you!
And uh. Man. I may make an enemy out of another indie fandom because I don’t really like this show.
I actually loved the pilot and thought episodes 1-3 were incredible, if a bit too fast paced. But episode 4 was kind of a breaking point for me and I dropped off after that.
I don’t think it’s very funny. I think it relies too much on Bathos and it makes it hard to take its cast seriously. As a black comedy it mostly worked for episodes 1-3, but 4? No.
It does this thing I really despise in media where it has themes of genocide but like… heavily deprioritizes it and often portrays it like a comedy. It’s supposed to be funny when innocent characters are murdered because they’re just goofy side characters but when it’s a major character suddenly we have to care, and I don’t like that at all. The main character has a meltdown over finding out that murder drones are sent to kill her people at the end of the pilot, and then in episode 4 she’s murdering her classmates and crying because a boy she likes might think she’s weird. I actually find it pretty frustrating that the robots are portrayed as incredibly cowardly because they’re slowly dying off and scared to die and then they’re hanging out with V who casually murders random children and nobody reacts to it.
I actually do like the idea of a character who’s not reformed but is kind of forced to stick around but when I see her murder characters, traumatize children and then go “haha I just have mental problems” and everyone just… moves on, I just cannot bring myself to care. It causes such a massive dissonance and not in a fun way.
I think it’s very frustrating and unengaging when a story about people doing the right thing and trying to help others has no interest in helping those they’re trying to save.
I think the female cast is solid but I did kind of raise my eye a bit when the only major female character that was killed off was a victim of genocide while the other genocidal characters, two of which gleefully murdered her fucking parents, are just allowed to hang out with the rest of the cast. Uzi especially lost a lot of sympathy for me when she was more emotional about freaking out N than murdering her classmates. Like yeah, they weren’t the nicest to her but it’s weird to establish a character wants to end genocide and then… barely reacts when they also indulge in that genocide.
I don’t really like the characters at all. I don’t like Uzi, I found N irritating and boring (and gives me anime harem protagonist vibes), I thought V was a tryhard and I couldn’t really care for the rest of the cast. I liked Doll but lol, you know how that turned out.
It also has this problem of having an overloaded cast with very little breathing room. I really wish the show just had one, low stakes episode, so we can actually get to know these characters and collect their thoughts. It’s actually one of my concerns for TADC, because as much as I do like that show, I think “no filler” with constant story is going to make or break the show for me. It’s too fast paced and no, I don’t think it’s good that you have to rewatch an episode 4 times to understand what’s going on. I don’t watch indie shows to play where’s Waldo, information should be explained to the audience in a way that feels digestible and natural.
The animation is incredible and the stuff that came out from the finale was insane, but at times it just felt like jangling keys in my face. Like don’t pay attention to rushed story, underdeveloped characters and bizarre tonal whiplash, look at the cool fights. I dont think it does horror well either. In fact I kind of cringe a bit when characters a big wide grins and giggle evilly and it’s mean to be intimidating and it just. Doesn’t work. Feels a bit juvenile honestly.
And. This is a very personal thing. I don’t like the robot designs.

Movie Nights with König
König is a really cool guy, but movie nights go one of two ways. Your way, or his way. Your way is great! He'll bake cookies and pastries, he makes popcorn and popcorn clusters (you know, like mixing popcorn with caramel, chocolate or peanut butter to make little popcorn balls? My parents did that with me) and he's just fantastic. He sets up the screen for you, helps you get the place all clean and cozy and snuggles right up to you with the biggest fluffiest blanket you both can find.
He does this for movie nights regardless of who's movie is playing, mind you. He's a major sweetheart. It's a fun time for your both to unwind and calm down and enjoy your lives together.
König just also sometimes likes to watch... his movies.
If you really hate them, it might be once a month or once every other month, and probably not with you beside him. Sometimes he just needs a movie that he wants to watch. Something that caught his eye and now he needs to see it. Unfortunately, what König likes isn't exactly... Normal.
See, König loves horror. Really, really loves horror. It's his favourite genre, followed closely by thriller and comedy. That one's a fun little mix, but his true love is horror. He is constantly pushing the boundaries of horror and trying to scare himself silly. For him, getting his heart pumping and his adrenaline surging keeps him alive. Maybe it's PTSD, maybe it's Maybelline. We'll never know for sure. Either way, he is always on the hunt for the next best horror.
Now, the problem is König is nearing middle-aged. He's had years to become desensitized to horror. You? Unless you're like him and live horror just as much as he does, you have not had that much time. He may forget this in the beginning, so your first horror movies may be pretty scary (read: traumatizing). He goes for some truly terrifying stuff. One, the one that my short drabble (the one you can find here) is based on is called The Poughkeepsie Tapes. It's a mockumentary about a group of detectives following the clues a serial killer has left behind in the form of tapes he's recorded of his victims. It's a chilling movie, but incredibly good. For anyone into more intense horror, please give it a watch.
But that last sentence is telling. König likes intense, extreme horror. Not always gore, but often gore. He's seen active combat too much to really be shaken by gore. He's the type to flick on Cannibal Holocaust and not bat an eye. It's pretty intense, and you might end the night thinking you fell in love with a sociopath. He's not evil, he just had a kinda fucked up moral compass through years of combat.
His love of horror does not strictly lie within gore. He likes suspense, too. He is fully into developing a good atmosphere of horror. Just a simple gory jumpscare doesn't really get to him. Some drawn out scene that has you on the edge of your seat as you dread what waits around the corner? That's what gets to him. He loves a good atmosphere. Sometimes it's a pain because the movies can start so dry, but by the end they have your teeth chattering.
However, König will not force you through something you can't handle. He's not a monster. He'll watch movies like 9 and Coraline, kid's horror if you will, if you can't handle his stuff. He'll tone it down for a cute movie night. He's sympathetic to your stomach.
The problems with movie nights don't end with König's love of horror, though.
He'll grow to love your kinds of movies, but he's a bit of a terrible person to watch movies with. Like, the snacks are great, but he's the type to talk over a movie. The worst part is when he talks over the most important parts and then gets lost. He's literally the worst for that. If you can get him to shut up, he's alright though. Usually you have to offer him something to eat or drink to keep his mouth occupied.
He loves to cuddle during movies, no matter what's playing. He'll hold you in his lap or by his side the whole way through. He loves to cuddle under a blanket and relax. However, he is watching the movie. He is not here to get distracted (even though he ends up distracting himself by talking through it). He wants his movie, and he will watch it until the end. It doesn't matter what you do to distract him, he is determined to finish the movie. If you fall asleep? Too bad, he's watching it. If you get a bit frisky? Sucks to suck, he's watching the movie until the bitter end. It gets to the point where you have to pause to let him use the washroom because he refuses to stop the movie. It can get a bit brutal. I do not recommend a Lord of the Rings marathon with him. It would be too intense.
If you can handle König being an obnoxious chatterbox during movies, he's great. The key to a good movie night is to stuff him with snacks so he keeps his interjections to a minimum. Cuddle him, and he'll be too busy enjoying the snuggle session to really have much to say. It's easy to get him to shut up, at the very least. Just make sure you have enough snacks.

Base Yandere Daisuke Headcanons: An Optimistic Yandere (Mouthwashing)
[Hello, My Sexy Muffins! In this chapter! It is going to be Daisuke from the horror game called Mouthwashing! Let's do it!
(Disclaimer: Daisuke is not Yandere in canon! This is just for fun and not to be taken seriously at all! Simping for fictional characters and yanderes is fine! Just do not be illegal or gross about it! You know who you are! You Dirty, Flaky, Biscuits! Yanderes are not ideal partners to have in real life! Also, Remember to separate fiction from reality and headcanon from canon! Thank you!)
Enjoy this!]
-Base Yandere Headcanons with Daisuke From Mouthwashing!-
.Daisuke is a young man who before joining the crew was drinking and partying.
.His parents got him the internship hoping he would do something with his life.
.He always tries to look on the bright side of things and always be on the cheerful side of things.
.He also does his best to get along with all of his co-workers on the ship.
.Of course, he loved one co-worker. That co-worker was you and he fell for you hard. .To him you were such a stunning person and he wanted to just make you smile and laugh.
.He would talk to you about his style in clothes as he loved to get vintage clothes from second-hand stores.
.He had a great eye for fashion that was the style of eons gone past.
.He would keep an eye out for clothing pieces that you could wear and what would look good on you.
.He has ideal dates of taking you to baseball games, or the batting cages, as well as going thrifting with you, or even taking you to the arcade.
.He thinks the games are rigged, but he would still do his best to win you a prize.
.All in all, he is a puppy dog yandere, who is typically a sweet male who loves to make his darling super happy.
.As well as following them around like a lost puppy dog.
.And always being super excited when they see their darling, and that is Daisuke to a t with you.
.You just make him light up and how he cannot help but break out into a grin when you are around.
.Or how he is making extra sweetener packets for you and him to have so you both can have a nice little sugar high~
.It is small but he would be the type of yandere to do small things for you and they are always things that are super meaningful to you.
.He is the type of yandere that takes his time to get to know you and no he does not do it by stalking you or invading your privacy.
.Nope Daisuke is one of the yanderes who actually talks to you and gets to know you through conversations and actually listens to you.
.He is one of the better yanderes in that regard and he is also a very respectful yandere that is super sweet and kind to you.
.Of course, he is a protective yandere and would do what he can to fight for you, he might end up getting beaten to a bloody mess but he would defend you and not let anyone insult you.
.He is the type of yandere that wants to be your hero and be the one to save you and make you impressed.
.So much that he is easily persuaded by others into dangerous stuff.
.Stuff that could cost him his life, but he still does it because he has done nothing with his life, and at the very least he would be able to save you, the love of his life.
.In his mind that had to be worth something.... right...?
.He would deal with rivals in not a typical way, he would more so want you to be happy, even if it is not with him.
.Although if the rival is actually bad for you he will refuse to let you be with them because they could hurt you and he rather die than let you be hurt.
.He also would do his best to tell you he loves you and that those rivals did not.
.That they were just using you and he wanted you to be with someone who loved you and would give you everything they could and put you first.
.With him hoping he could be that guy.
.He would confess to you in a cheesy way with you and him watching romantic comedies and he just blurts out some cheesy pickup line.
.If you do get it and accept his love he is so happy and will kiss you deeply.
.If you do not get it he would laugh and say it did not matter, letting it go as he does not want to ruin what he and you have.
.If you do get it but do not accept his feelings he would be heartbroken, almost like a kicked puppy.
.He would sit around mopping for days, listening to tragic break up, and broken hearts music.
.It is a bit pathetic, to be honest.
.He would pick himself up and he would do one of two things as a yandere.
.The first one would be let you go and watch you from a fair, to make sure the guy or girl or person who end up with is someone who truly loves you and would respect you always.
.Or he would start treating you similarly to if you were his partner.
.In this one he is like "If I treat (Name) like they are my partner then they will see how much of a great guy and boyfriend I am!"
.That is what would be going through his head and he is determined to prove to you what a great boyfriend he could be to you.
.IF you keep rejecting him he may snap and end up attacking any of the guys you start to date as there is only so much any rival can take.
.Also he would be the type of yandere who is always looking on the bright side of things.
.Like how he is so positive he can make you like him, and that ONE DAY you will love him back.
.He just has to keep trying and one day he would be good enough for you to love him in return.
.And on that day you and him would live happily ever after.
.He has the perfect dream to having a home with you, pets, and even some kids.
.He just has to figure out to get from the start to the finish line with you!
.All in all, Daisuke is one of the best yanderes out there!
[YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS another chapter is done! I hope you all enjoyed this, and stay sexy, all of my sexy muffins!]

“Wow, Vivi…” You took a deep breath in, marveling at the architectural wonder before you. “This is…”
“Totally awesome?” Nami chimed in, looking around the room.
“I was gonna say that it rivals the work of Michaelangelo, but that works too…” you replied.
Vivi crouched down and crawled into the blanket-pillow fort, poking her head out and looking up at the two of you.
“Feel free to come in! There are many snacks for us to share and movies to watch!” Vivi said cheerily, tucking herself back into the fort.
Both of you crawled after her, choosing your spots within and diving straight into the generously provided snacks.
Nami shoved a handful of pretzels in her mouth, “You’ve really outdone yourself, Vivi.”
“For sure,” you added. “Having a sleepover wasn’t on my college to-do list, but it definitely should have been.”
“And without the boys!” Nami cheered, kicking her legs excitedly. “No Luffy here to eat all the food!”
Vivi smiled at you both, “I’m glad you are enjoying the sleepover! I don’t have any siblings, so I have perfected the art of fort-making from a young age…”
“Well, that’s what friends are for!” You took a couple pretzels from the bowl. “Now we can do all sorts of things you couldn’t do back then.”
“And we can drink!” Nami interrupted, stealing a pretzel from you.
You rolled your eyes, moving over to the laptop to pick a movie, “I’ll leave the drinking to you, Nami.”
“Really?” she snickered. “You seemed pretty open to it when we were at the Baratie. If I can remember correctly, Sanji had to carry you back to the dorm…”
“How the hell would you know that?” you gaped, crossing your arms defensively. “You drank more than I did!”
Nami laughed, crossing her arms proudly, “I can hold my liquor pretty well, for your information! I’ve outdrank at least 30 grown men before!”
“What an accomplishment, Nami!” Vivi clapped.
You grimaced at Vivi’s cheeriness, “Don’t congratulate her for that, Vi…”
“Any more interesting bits of information from you, ____? A story we’ve yet to hear, maybe a long lost love? Or perhaps you and Sanji…”
“Nope, not a thing,” you quickly countered.
“Oh, you’re no fun!” Nami pouted.
You were quick to bring this party back on track, and away from your own personal life, moving to the laptop to search for movies.
“Alright, what are we thinking, gang? Romance? Comedy? Horror?”
Nami made a gagging noise, “Ew, no horror, please. I’m here for a good night, not a nightmare-filled one.”
“I do love romance!” Vivi said excitedly, looking over your shoulder with Nami at the selection of movies.
“Also, I want something classic!” Nami reached for the laptop, scrolling endlessly for movies. “And no superhero stuff, or future-y stuff.”
“Ok, well, we’ve got Clueless, Mean Girls, 10 Things I Hate About You…”
“10 Things I Hate About You!” Nami shrieked, reaching over and clicking on the movie before you could stop her.
Vivi gave Nami a confused look, “I’ve never seen it before, is it good?”
Nami scoffed, “Only the best romance movie of all time! Trust me, Vi, you’re in for a treat.”
“Agreed,” you added, “it’s at least in the top ten best movies of all time.”
“Make that top five,” Nami corrected, leaning back into the pillows.
“I’m glad to be experiencing it, then!” Vivi cheered, joining Nami in her cushioned throne.
You cracked your knuckles, “Alright, ladies! Movie’s starting now, I expect all phones to be silenced and all mouths to be zipped! Now, please enjoy the show.”
“Ok, mom,” Nami quipped, throwing her arms behind her head.
“You wish I was your mom.”
“Nuh uh, my mom’s already the greatest mom, like, ever!" Nami hissed, sticking her tongue out at you.
“Yeah, I already know, we had a fantastic time last night.” You grinned, copying Nami’s pose.
You earned a pillow to the face for that joke.
.
.
.
“I knew it! They belonged together from the start!” Vivi sobbed as the credits rolled, throwing her face into a nearby pillow and staining it with her tears.
“It’s a romantic comedy, Vi,” you said, pinching your nose, “you’re not supposed to be crying.”
Vivi’s lip wobbled, “I can’t help it…”
“Shh…there, there, Vi,” Nami cooed, rubbing the poor girl’s shoulders. “Be nice, ____! It was her first time seeing the movie of a lifetime.”
“It was a romantic comedy, ” you groaned, laying down in the mass of pillows.
Nami hummed, giving Vivi her blanket before collapsing down beside you.
“Tell you what, girls,” Nami yawned, pulling her sleeping mask over her head. “We absolutely need to go shopping soon. I know we all need a break after this heart-wrenching cinematic experience.”
“It was a fucking romantic comedy!”
“Well, so was the Fault in our Stars, and I cried at that!”
“You’re supposed to!” you yelled, hitting Nami with a pillow, “it’s not a comedy!”
“Comedy, shmomedy,” Nami shrugged, “you in for a shopping trip, Vi?”
Vivi smiled, her blanket pulled up to her chin, “Yes, it sounds very fun! I would love to go out with the two of you again!”
“Well, I suppose that depends on our little roomie,” Nami smiled devilishly, turning towards you. “You in, ____?”
You grimaced as the two girls looked at you expectantly, waiting for an answer you didn’t want to give. Nami’s eyes were dark and knowing, while Vivi’s were light and full of happiness, unaware that Nami would probably coerce her into paying. You were more than capable of saying no to Nami, but Vi? A world with a sad Vivi was a world you couldn’t bear to live in.
“...How about Friday evening, after classes?” you muttered.
“Perfect!” Nami cheered, sliding the sleeping mask down to cover her eyes. “I’ll see you girls then. Just text me when you two are out of class and we can head out!”
“A terrific plan!” Vivi said, snuggling into her pillow. “I will see you both in the morning, good night!”
“Yeah, night, Vi,” you murmured to yourself, fearing for the safety of your wallet.
And so you joined their roommates in their quests for sleep, shutting your eyes and curling up in the mound of blankets and pillows surrounding you, giving you a very cushioned send off to the world of dreams.
*⋆✧*.𖥔⋆☆⋆𖥔.*✧⋆*
“...up, ____,” a voice mumbled above you, though you were hardly able to make out their words on account of the pillows smothering your ears.
Instead of responding, you just rolled to your side and pulled the fluffy comforter over your body, deciding that whatever the person was trying to tell you wasn’t worth it. You could decipher it in a minute, or five. Hell, why not just make it ten?
“Wake up!” the voice, now shouting, called out.
The dull pain in your ears was nothing compared to the unexpected pain in your face as a pillow hurled at top speed smacked you in the head.
“Hey!” you shrieked, clutching your cheek and looking around frantically. Nami stood above you, fully dressed with a hand on her hip, brows furrowed.
“Are you kidding me? How many times are we gonna have to wake you up?” she huffed, throwing a pile of clothes at you. “You’re lucky I set my alarm for earlier, you still have time to get ready.”
“My savior,” you groaned, examining the clothes laid before you. “Thanks for the clothes, though.”
Nami certainly had style, and it wasn’t hard to see with her daily outfits. What she picked for you chic, but comfortable enough to walk to your classes in, and wasn’t that the college dream?
“Oh it’s nothing, just something I threw together for you,” she giggled. “Vi’s in the shower right now, so once she’s done and dressed we can head out, ‘kay?”
“Got it, girl boss.” You rose from the jumbled mess of pillows and blankets and stepped carefully over to the closed bathroom door, gingerly knocking.
“Vi, it’s me! Mind if I come in for a sec?” you called out.
A muffled ‘yes’ came from the other side, so you creaked the door open and stepped inside with your bundle of clothes, doing your best to get dressed as quickly as possible.
“Sorry for the intrusion, Vivi,” you apologized, slinging the top over your shoulders.
“Ah, it’s no problem, really!” she said from behind the glass walls of the shower. “I hope you had a good night’s rest after our sleepover.”
You scoffed, “Oh, believe me, the rest was wonderful. It was the wake up call that sucked.”
Vivi laughed heartily, the sound echoing in the cramped bathroom, “This is the second time Nami has woken you up, yes? I am glad I missed this time, the first was quite…brutal.”
“Be lucky you’re not on her bad side, Vi,” you snorted, pulling your phone out.
Aside from notifications from games and emails, you did have a couple unread texts from Sanji this morning.
| Mr. Prince: Good morning Sleeping Beauty!!!!! | Mr. Prince: <333333333 Read 8:12 AM | You: lol i swear you say the same thing every morning | You: do all the women in your life get the princess treatment? | Mr. Prince: Just you! | Mr. Prince: I swear princess <33333 | You: swear your loyalty to me and i’ll believe you | Mr. Prince: ;3; | Mr. Prince: If it means earning your love… | Mr. Prince: I’ll do it!!!! | You: lol i’m just kidding | You: pls don’t do anything rash | Mr. Prince: ;3; | You: go forth and take care of every princess!! | You: that is my command | Mr. Prince: You are too kind!! | Mr. Prince: I wilokgopp;;;;;
You raised an eyebrow as Sanji’s final text, clearly too disordered to be anything except for a violet keyboard smash.
| You: did you die prince charming? | You: it’s only like 8 in the morning lol | Mr. Prince: its zoro | Mr. Prince: sanji needs to get ready so im taking his phone away | Mr. Prince: see u guys at 9 | Mr. Prince: Attachment (1) Image
The picture featured was a selfie of Zoro and a very angry Sanji, the latter attempting to wrestle the phone out of the former’s hands. You could also make out a very blurry Luffy crawling over a horrified Usopp in the background, clearly trying to be a part of the picture.
“I’ll give you some space, Vi,” you said, exiting the bathroom and making your way over to Nami amongst the mess of comforters.
“I got a text from Sanji—well, from Zoro, technically. They’re planning on heading down at nine, if that’s cool,” you said, sitting beside her.
“Yeah, that’s fine,” Nami responded, scrolling through her phone. “We’ll probably have a few minutes to kill, depending on how fast Vivi can get ready.”
Vivi’s voice rang out from the bathroom, “I will be out shortly, do not worry!”
“Take your time, Vi!” you shouted back before turning to Nami. “Judging by Zoro’s texts, Sanji might be a while.”
That tracks,” Nami sighed, a smile slowly forming on her face. “Knowing him, he’s probably ironing his suit right now.”
“Or curling his eyebrows.”
“Or waxing his shoes.”
Vivi’s head poked out of the bathroom, clearly trying to hold back her laughter.
“Perhaps,” she giggled, “he is powdering his nose!”
The room was silent for a second before the three of you burst into laughter, doubling over at your stupid jokes. You could afford wasting a couple of minutes to laugh, unknowing that the boys were, indeed, waiting for Sanji to finish ironing his suit.
Tumblr media
“Pancakes aren’t that bad, Vi,” Nami said, drizzling her stack of pancakes in tangerine syrup. “You just gotta add what you like on top!”
“Yeah, Vivi!” Luffy said, voice muffled as he stuffed his face with his seventh pancake. “You’ve got syrup, sugar, butter, ice cream, gravy, meat—”
“You can’t put meat on pancakes, Luffy,” you pointed out, sliding your plate further away from Luffy’s potential grasp.
“Sure you can!” Sanji said, carefully decorating his own stack. “There’s plenty of traditional recipes that utilize meat and ‘pancake’, though I’m not sure you could call every example a pancake…”
“I’m saying you can’t put meat on pancakes like how Luffy does it.” You gestured to Luffy’s plate, which consisted of pancakes with huge pieces of steak and chicken on top.
“They’re not even serving steak right now!” Usopp hissed, looking at Luffy’s food with a mixture of awe and terror. “This is crazy! He’s crazy!”
“Pancakes don’t have any special nutritional benefits, but they are yummy,” Chopper remarked, taking a bite of his cotton candy-covered pancakes.
“I will stick to rice, but I thank you for your unique perspectives,” Vivi said, giving a polite smile to everyone.
“Here here,” Zoro agreed, taking a sip from his bottle.
“Stop drinking during breakfast, you have classes afterwards,” you whispered, nudging his shoulder.
“I’ll quit when I’m dead,” he responded unflinchingly, taking another swig.
You sighed, continuing to eat your meal amidst your chattering table of friends. Every conversation seemed to switch, both in topic and participants, every five minutes. You were able to catch details about the introduction of new majors—as if Grand Line didn’t have enough—as well as the topic of Luffy’s potential major.
“Come on, Luffy,” Usopp said, pointing his fork in Luffy’s direction, “you’re gonna have to choose a major soon. Why not try engineering?”
“I don’t wanna do math!” he pouted.
“You could do exercise science like Zoro,” Nami added. “Isn’t Ace doing something similar?”
Zoro hummed in agreement, “I think you’d like it, Luf. You’ve gotta learn a little bit, but you might like it.”
“But I don’t wanna copy Ace!” Luffy cried, shoveling more food into his mouth.
“If you’re interested in it, then you’re not copying,” you reassured.
“But I’m not interested.”
The table sighed in unison, knowing that any hope of finding Luffy a major would be short-lived on account of his short attention span.
“Well, you can always talk to your advisor,” Sanji concluded, wiping his mouth with a napkin. “Or your brothers. They’re juniors, aren’t they? Should have plenty of experience.”
“Oh, yeah!” Luffy exclaimed, practically jumping out of his seat. “I bet Sabo would know what to do! He’s way smarter than Ace!”
“I wouldn’t say that out loud, Luf,” a blond man sitting behind Luffy said, turning to face your group. “You know how Ace gets when you compare us.”
Luffy’s momentary confused expression turned to one of glee as he tackled the man, grabbing onto him like a koala.
“Sabo!” he shrieked, earning the attention of nearly half the cafeteria.
“I think I remember something like this happening with the other brother,” Usopp grimaced, looking all around as if something would hit him at any moment.“Has he been there the whole time?” you whispered to Nami.
“I’ve only started sitting here since last week,” Sabo replied, giving you a knowing smile. “I heard Ace had a rather ostentatious entrance, so I thought I’d surprise Luffy in a little quieter way.”
“...I’m not sure you can call this quiet,” Nami said, watching Luffy squeeze Sabo rather violently.
“Does this mean Luffy’s off our hands?” Sanji asked, peeking over at the reunion.
Sabo seemed to think for a minute, looking between Luffy and your group, before saying, “I doubt he’ll let go in time for his classes, so I can take him for a bit.”
“Sounds good to me!” Nami cheered, standing up from the table. “We should all head to class anyway.”
“Have fun on your field trip, Luffy!” Vivi smiled, waving at Luffy before dashing out of the cafeteria with Nami.
You grabbed your plate and turned to Chopper, “Do you have class right now, Chopper? I’m heading over to the science building to talk to a professor before my biology lab, so we might be heading the same way.”
“I have my chemistry lab there in a bit!” Chopper said.
“Perfect, we can head over now.” You smiled, before thinking for a second. “Are you in organic chemistry, Chopper? Or are you in some higher class?”
“No, I’m still in general chemistry,” Chopper nodded excitedly, but then looked down at his feet. “I think I’m in your class…”
“Oh, shit,” you blurted, feeling guilty. “Where do you sit? I don’t think I’ve seen you in class before…”
“In the front.”
“...Really?”
Chopper blushed, looking embarrassed, “I can’t see when I sit in the back…”
“Well, I can sit up there with you tomorrow!” you offered. “If that’s not a problem, that is. It might be nice to have someone to talk to.”
“I’d like that!” Chopper smiled, picking up his bag. “But we should head over now, before all the spots get taken.”
You slung your bag over your shoulder, calling back to the table, “See you guys later! Don’t let Luffy cause too much trouble, please!”
Sabo waved back, laughing, “I’ll do my best, but he can be unpredictable…”
“Hey!” Luffy shouted, “I’m 100% predictable!”
“That’s not—”
Before the conversation could grow into an uncontrollable argument, you escaped with Chopper in tow. Luffy may be unpredictable in seemingly every other aspect of life, but you could certainly predict how that was going to go. There would be no winners in that cafeteria, only poor, emotionally-scarred college students.
It’s truly amazing what you can learn from someone despite knowing them for less than a month.
Tumblr media
“I fucking hate chemistry, Chopper,” you deadpanned, feeling wrinkles etch on your face as you looked over the lab you’d gotten on Tuesday.
You’d been sitting at one of the few tables in the building, trying to get a start on your lab before Chopper finished completing the in-class portion of his, but you’d been struggling with question two for roughly the entirety of Chopper’s lab, leaving you feeling hopeless, even with the aid you’d received from the professor.
Chopper looked shocked, joining you at the table, “It’s not that bad! I promise it’ll get better, ____! If you want, I can help you study?”
“Truly, Chopper,” you sighed, “I think I’m a lost cause. But I’ll still take you up your offer.”
You dug your phone out of your pocket and opened your contacts, swapping info with Chopper. Another friend to add to the collection, and this one had inherent value to your major!
“Thanks, Chop.” You smiled, tucking your phone away. “I should probably head to my psych class now, so good luck with your lab.”
“Thank you, ____!” Chopper beamed, waving you goodbye.
Luckily, your psych class was in the next building over, so you didn’t have to worry about being late. In fact, the only thing you had to worry about was your chemistry lab. Psychology wasn’t too hard for you, especially back at South Blue High. It was basically just memorization—albeit a lot of memorization—that you didn’t really struggle with. Differentiating ideas could be a tad difficult, but nothing you couldn’t manage. Way better than chemistry, at least.
Your class wasn’t all too great, however. It was full of people who didn’t really want to talk to others, leading to incredibly bland discussion times. Their lack of enthusiasm killed your vibe, so despite the subject being a total snoozefest, you weren’t really looking forward—
“Hey, ____!” Luffy yelled, waving at you from a lone table near the back.
Sitting beside your rambunctious friend was his brother, Sabo, who also gave you a polite wave.
“...Is this part of the field trip?” you asked Sabo.
“Well, I’m TA-ing for this class, so I thought it might help Luffy to learn about other subjects!” Sabo said, grinning.
“Wait, you’re the TA for this class?” You raised an eyebrow, setting your bag down at a nearby desk. “I didn’t see you on Wednesday, and you weren’t introduced either.”
Sabo leaned back in his chair, “It was a spur of the moment thing. I’m a sociology major, but I thought I might dabble in psychology. It’s fascinating, the mind, and what you can do with it…”
“You sound like a supervillain.”
“Me? A supervillain?” Sabo gasped, putting a hand over his heart. “I’ll have you know, I am the kindest, gentlest, utmost altruistic gentleman this world has ever seen! Isn’t that right, Luffy?”
Luffy blinked, not a single thought going on behind his eyes, “Sabo is totally awesome! One time Ace dared him to eat a caterpillar, and he did it!”
“...Gentleman, huh?” you snickered.
Sabo shrugged, his grin tugging at one end of his mouth, “What can I say, I was a strange child. But not as strange as Luffy…”
“Hey!” Luffy yelled, shaking Sabo violently as the latter laughed.
“Well, if you have any questions, just ask,” Sabo said, easily pushing Luffy off. “Though, you seem like a smart cookie, so I’m sure you’ll do just fine.”
“Or you could ask me!” Luffy shrieked, trying to push back against Sabo.
You laughed, finally taking your seat as class began. With Sabo and Luffy providing you company, the class wasn’t so bad. Sabo was nice to talk to during discussion times, as well as when you were filling out your notes—though it was slightly grating to hear your notes being critiqued. Luffy, despite being reprimanded by the professor multiple times, kept the mood of the entire class up. Luckily Sabo was good at smooth talking, or else Luffy would have probably been expelled. You can only break the same desk so many times before being a lost cause.
As soon as the clock struck 3:20, everyone filed out of the room. You left with Sabo and Luffy, making your way over to the cafeteria for dinner, though Sabo planned on showing Luffy one more class before officially ending their ‘field trip.’
“Has any class struck a chord with you, Luffy?” you asked, glancing over to your friend.
Luffy seemed to think for a moment before speaking, “Nope.”
“Seriously, Luf?” Sabo groaned, pulling on his hair. “Not even sociology? Come one, it’s awesome!”
“I hate sitting in a classroom all day!” Luffy pouted, dragging his feet as he walked. “I wanna do something cool, like being a firefighter!”
“Well, you can bring that up to your advisor,” you offered. “I’m sure there’s a degree that—”
“Fire Fist!”
You felt a tug on your waist as Sabo pulled you ever-so-slightly closer to him and away from Luffy, and within an instant you understood why. Hurling towards Luffy at top speeds was Ace, who tackled Luffy and sailed into the nearby grass patch.
“That’s 572 to 0, Luffy!” Ace cackled, slapping his brother harshly on the back.
Luffy heaved for a couple of seconds, clearly trying to catch his breath after being so blatantly assaulted by his older brother.
“I’ll get you next time,” Luffy scowled, jumping to his feet. “I’ve been working on my punches too!”
“Oh, I’m shaking in my boots,” Ace snorted.
“Now, now, guys,” Sabo said, releasing you. “You almost hurt this poor young lady! What would Dadan say if she saw you now?”
“Don’t leave the house until you’ve done your chores?” Luffy responded, picking his nose.
Ace punched Luffy again, causing the latter to fall over onto the grass. He stepped up back onto the sidewalk, approaching you with an apologetic smile on his face.
“Sorry ‘bout that, ____,” Ace chuckled, scratching his head. “But brothers will be brothers, ya know? Can’t go a day without tackling one of them.”
“I seem to manage just fine,” Sabo coughed.
“...In other news,” Ace said, “I thought I might invite Luffy and his gang of pals—that’s you—to a lovely restaurant in order to celebrate the upcoming hockey season!”
“Is it really hockey season? School literally just started,” you deadpanned.
Ace barked out a laugh, “Every season is hockey season, baby! Now, I have other plans currently that I’m 10 minutes late for—”
“You’re what ?” Sabo’s eyes widened as he turned to Ace.
“—and I need to be there soon, so I’ll take your stunned silence as a ‘yes’ to coming, and I’ll see you Saturday night at eight!”
Before you could even respond to Ace’s outlandish statements, he sprinted away as quickly as he came, dashing through—not around—groups of people, knocking over countless bystanders as he ran away.
“Your brother is a work of art, Sabo,” you finally said, feeling breathless watching Ace’s escape.
Sabo only snorted, looking down amusedly as his little brother rolled angrily through the grass.
“Which one?”
“...Fair point.”

Hello there, I recently became a follower and I love your writing so far, keep up the great work and I hope you’re having a wonderful day
I saw that requests are open so if it’s alright, can I get headcannons of the first years (separate) and shows/movies they’d enjoy watching with the reader?
Thought it’ll be pretty fun and an excuse for me to get recommendations lol, thank you!
Hello, Aesthetic! Thank you for your kind words! This was a bit of a challenge for Mx Tattly, since they are not a huge movie person. However she hopes you still enjoy his takes. They also wrote from the perspective of the Prefect/Yuu having access to some movies from their world of origin. Enjoy!
Movie night, otherworldly edition
Characters: Grim, Ace, Deuce, Jack, Epel, Ortho, Sebek and GN!Reader (separate)
Warnings: food mention (Epel's part)
By opening the document, you agree to Mx Tattly's terms of source confidentiality.
-ˋˏ’✄┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
Tumblr media
Grim's preffered genres are: comedy, action, animation, fantasy
Grim trully is a child at heart, and all the colorful characters and scenes from animation have him hooked
He also enjoys a good laugh, especially visual gags
He barely has any attention to spare for a series, so movies are his preffered format
He would never admit it but he's a sucker for found family
Silent movie crier
Loud denier
Some favorites from your world: Home; Bolt; That one Wizard Boy Movie we Don't mention in This Household; he has a weird relationship with Ace Ventura
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Ace's preffered genres are: horror, thriller, action, adventure
He enjoys gorey stuff and being the guy you hide behind of when the scenes get too much, but he needs time to prepare for psychological horror
Ace is the type to look up spoilers before watching something and he tries to trick you into believing his made up version of the plot
He talks a lot during movies but hates when others do it
While he enjoys a good adventure movie, he hates superhero movies and he thinks they're silly
He prefers movies over series because he likes the format more, but he's down for a short series
Some favorites from your world: The Mummy; Jumanji (he loves making fun of it); American Psycho; Scary Movie
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Deuce's preffered genres are: action, adventure, animation, family movies
He is pretty easy to please, he'd watch anything that is entertaining
Definitely a Marvel fan
He also loves animation movies, the animation always leaves him awestruck
He likes movies about families and their bonds
Deuce is also surprisingly into medical dramas... but also cop dramas
He is a crier as well but only when he's just with you
Some favorites from your world: Black Panther; The Rookie; A Goofy movie; Police Academy 2
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Jack's preferred genres are: documentary, adventure, romance, dramas and telenovelas with a bit of nudging
Jack is the type of guy to retain various informations after watching something
He can sometimes memorise entire scenes, and he finds that habit less annoying when he watches documentaries; he likes something informative and motivational
Jack also enjoys some romance movies sometimes, but he is very picky so it's hard for him to find one he actually likes
He does, however, like to point out and comment on the weird courting habits humans have
Jack finds telenovelas and soap operas kind of nonsensical and overly dramatic, but he also gets hooked on the plot pretty quick and soon enough it would become a bit of a guilty pleasure
Some favorites from your world: David Holmes, the boy who lived; the social dilemma; Love, Simon; Yo soy Betty la fea
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Epel's preferred genres are: comedy, action, western, anything he can mock and make fun of
If you think Ace is bad with his mid watch commentary, Epel is 10 times worse
He mocks things in movies so often he's giving Cinema Sins a run for their money
He won't shut up even if you give him all the snacks, he'll talk while eating
He also has the most colourful, boisterous, ridiculous laughter imaginable (and I say that lovingly), so if the comedy movie is not making you laugh then Epel's laughter is
Epel is not a picky watcher so he can get behind anything that isn't too sappy
If you pull out anything with Vil on the poster though he will dematerialise from your couch
Some favorites from your world: Rush Hour; Desperado; Puss in Boots 2; any Fast and Furious movie (unfortunately)
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Ortho's preferred genres are: anything he finds intriguing, family movies
If anything, Ortho has a wide palate and can enjoy almost anything
He also knows how a movie ends before he watches it, but it never ruins his enjoyment
He never spoils anyone unless they try to argue with him about the direction of the plot
Most of his interest in movies came from wanting to understand human behavior better, but now he can just use them as a time killer or sleepover material
He also likes watching your reactions to the movies: how often you laugh, how often you cry, how often you reach for snacks
A favorite from your world: Big Hero 6
『••✎••』
Tumblr media
Sebek's preferred genres are: historical films, (period) dramas, musicals with the right nudge
Listen here, musical enjoyers. Here is the most susceptible one to being convinced to join the dark side
One word: Hamilton.
Yes, he'll think the music is nonsensical, BUT he'll also tap his foot to it
AND if you say anything about teaching him something from the soundtrack to surprise Malleus with, he's all ears
He is also very quick to get songs stuck in his head: he's easy prey
All jokes aside, Sebek can be a good watch buddy when his interest is piqued
Not even he can deny when a movie has good plot and characters
He does prefer period dramas, since he has a soft spot for the setting
And historical films: a nerd do be nerding even during movie nights
Some favorites from your world: The Crown, Hamilton, Les Miserables, maybe Oppenheimer but it would be used in his anti-human agenda
『••✎••』
Speaking of Oppenheimer...
Well, let's discuss Barbenheimer.
Everyone went to watch both movies:
Ace went dressed in pink for the both of them
Deuce got confused by the "dresscode" and apologised to you for not knowing about it
Jack and Ortho enjoyed both
Epel insisted he liked Oppenheimer more but he's lying
Sebek cried at the end of Barbie
Grim is the only one who in fully in Oppenheimer's corner

10 of my Favourite Horror (Adjacent) Movies and Why You Should Watch Them
(Not in any particular order or subgenre. TW are super vague, spoiler-free, and from my memory, but I would recommend looking up more specific ones before watching any of these if you are easily triggered. Not all triggers are listed because these are horror movies, so stuff like death and murder is to be expected.)
Let me know if y’all want a part 2, because I’ve got about 7 more! (It could have been one post if Tumblr didn’t limit my images to 10)
1. Parasite
Tumblr media
A struggling lower class family slowly integrates itself into the household of a rich family without their knowledge.
Most of you have already seen this one, or been told to watch it. I am no different: this movie is popular for a very good reason. Divided into 3 clear acts, starting with comedy, and making its way through drama into horror. Also, great commentary on classism, very psychological at times and makes you wonder who you should really be rooting for.
Scary: 2/10
Gore: 3/10
Disturbing: 5/10
Psychological: 6/10
Actual genre: Dark comedy thriller
2. The House That Jack Built
Tumblr media
Serial killer Jack recounts some of his most influential murders.
A bit infamous and controversial for being very messed up, but still really good. Highly psychological, with a lot of narration and use of metaphor. Especially fun if you have any knowledge of Dante’s Inferno. Definitely not one to watch if you want a protagonist to root for.
Scary: 3/10
Gore: 6/10
Disturbing: 10/10
Psychological: 8/10
Actual Genre: psychological horror art
TW: sexism, corpse mutilation
3. Creep (1&2)
Tumblr media
A man is hired to help film messages from a dying man to his son.
I’m usually not a fan of found-footage, but there’s something special about Creep. On top of that, this is one of the few movies where I can confidently say I like the sequel more, which is shocking because the first one was amazing. Very funny and off-beat, with a sense of foreboding underlying the whole thing.
Scary: 3/10
Gore: 1/10
Disturbing: 3/10
Psychological: 4/10
Actual genre: found footage psychological horror
Edit: now has a TV show! Haven’t watched it yet, but saw some clips and it looks great! Follows the same formula as the movies :)
4. Mother!
Tumblr media
A woman and her poet husband live quietly in a secluded house away from society.
Very metaphorical and highly feminist; definitely not a movie that everyone appreciates, but if you enjoy analysis or just being really weirded out then this is a good for you. Starts slow and snowballs toward the horrific climax.
Scary: 3/10
Gore: 7/10
Disturbing: 7/10
Psychological: 8/10
Actual genre: psychological horror
TW: cannibalism
5. Perfect Blue
Tumblr media
Mima is a young pop star looking to join the acting industry.
Brutally realistic to the point where I had to stop watching and take a walk at one point. Very much “female rage” and a protagonist that will live in your head rent free for the next 6 years (or maybe that’s just me). Very triggering in a lot of ways, but worth it if you’re not sensitive to the topics it covers.
Scary: 5/10
Gore: 4/10 (animated)
Disturbing: 8/10
Psychological: 10/10
Actual genre: psychological thriller
TW: depersonalization/derealization, nudity, stalking, rape scene (she is acting in a tv show but it is still the most uncomfortable scene of the movie), inaccurate portrayal of DID
6. Midsommar
Tumblr media
A couple and their friends go on a vacation to their friend’s remote hometown for a Midsommar festival.
Probably the best-known out of this list, and again for a good reason. 90% of the film takes place in broad daylight, and the visuals are absolutely gorgeous. Once again will bring up the question of who is in the right and who is in the wrong (I have the answer to this question and I will fight you in dms if you’d like).
Scary: 3/10
Gore: 8/10
Disturbing: 8/10
Psychological: 7/10
Actual genre: folk horror
TW: long and graphic sex scene, nudity, close up and graphic gore, cult stuff, suicide
7. The Call
Tumblr media
A woman moves back to her childhood home and receives a call from the woman who lived there 30 years prior.
I got really into modern Asian horror films a few months ago and this is one of my favourites. The dynamic between the protagonist and antagonist is one of my favourites, and finishing this movie felt like finishing a 3 season TV show because of how well paced it was. Really hoping there will be a sequel with the same concept, even if it is not likely.
Scary: 6/10
Gore: 3/10
Disturbing: 6/10
Psychological: 6/10
Actual genre: psychological thriller
TW: abuse
8. Incantation
Tumblr media
A cursed woman takes back custody of her young daughter and does everything she can to keep away the effects of her curse.
This one was popular on TikTok for a while, and for good reason. Another found footage in a more traditional sense, and a bit confusing at times, but overall a really solid scary story. Very cool effects as well.
Scary: 6/10
Gore: 4/10
Disturbing: 6/10
Psychological: 5/10
Actual genre: supernatural horror
TW: derealization
9. Pearl
Tumblr media
A farm girl dreams about leaving home and living as a show girl.
Mia Goth is a national treasure, but we all knew that already. I watched this one before X (the actual first movie) because I didn’t know they were connected, but I much preferred this one. The Wizard of Oz vibes combined with Pearl’s unsettling behaviour made is a really creep film to watch.
Scary: 4/10
Gore: 4/10
Disturbing: 6/10
Psychological: 5/10
Actual genre: horror
TW: porn
10. The Platform
Tumblr media
A man is stuck in a prison where a platform of food is lowered through the layers of cells for inmates to eat as they please.
I’m a sucker for psychological movies that take place in a very limited space. If you’ve ever played and enjoyed the game Presentable Liberty then I’m gonna go ahead and say you’ll like this too. Not every question is answered, but the film is more about the human condition than the prison they inhabit, so it’s not too much of a problem.
Scary: 2/10
Gore: 9/10
Disturbing: 8/10
Psychological: 9/10
Actual genre: social science fiction horror
TW: cannibalism, suicide

Unfinished small fic of Murderbot and ART getting jumpscared and then fighting about it
...
I will reorganize, of course, ART said.
"Like hell you will."
It is only logical that-
"Fuck you and your logic."
...
So, I was pissed. If you couldn't tell.
I got annoyed with ART over minor differences of opinion about media all the time, that was nothing new. Sometimes it was even fun, like pointing out all the ways ART was wrong about Sunny's motivations for botching their own self-sacrifice ritual to their cult's fauna deity in The Yester-years of the Blood Collective, a new comedy-horror serial we were trying out. ART was convinced that Sunny subconsciously messed up the ritual even though it was pretty obvious it was a pro-conscious decision (I'm not looking up if that's a real word, you get what I mean) as a plot to push their younger sibling to the top of the cult hierarchy for promotion. It was clearly a set up, but try telling ART that.
Gore horror wasn't usually my thing, and it definitely was not ART's thing, but the ways the humans kept dying were so unrealistic and bad that it was almost funny. Also they never stayed dead because of the aforementioned fauna deity resurrecting them all constantly. The "deaths" just looked like how juvenile humans liked to play dead sometimes, with overdramatic groans and sticking their tongues out to indicate they were "dead for real this time." It was a decently safe show, despite the horror tags.
I'm going to be the more mature person here and admit that maybe, despite it being "decently safe, for horror," we were both a little on edge from all the killing and blood and stuff going on. Even if it was hilariously bad. After twelve episodes of near constant stabbing and backstabbing and back-backstabbing, all of which I mean literally by the way, it was feeling less fun and more irritating. But I wanted to know if Sunny reconciled with their younger sibling after their pro-conscious plot was found out (I knew it), so I kept watching. Maybe that was the first mistake, because ART was taking in my reactions too through my filters, and I had been too invested to really detangle all those irritated emotions from real life and the show. (Hey, I'm admitting it now, okay? Progress.)
So ART was also a little irritated and on edge about the blood, probably on top of its uneasiness about the violence that it could generate on its own without the help of my filters, when the show's first and untagged jumpscare triggered an extremely embarrassing adrenaline dump in my organics. That ART also got to experience via me.
I had a brief millisecond to feel this already unpleasant experience on my own before my brain was flattened by ART's reaction to my reaction. Way too much of its presence instantly flooded into the feed and I was distantly aware of feeling like all the air was forced out of my body. I heard a 'thunk' as I tipped over and my head hit the wall next to my bunk.
ART shut down the show 0.17 seconds into the jumpscare. After a second to recover my processes, I shoved the show back into our shared feed only for ART to bat it down in 0.3 seconds. It could been faster than that, enough that from my perspective it would look like nothing had shown up at all, but it wanted me to see that it was batting it away and how annoyed it was about it. That was enough to piss me off way more than it should have.
"Just play the damn show," I said out loud, mostly to force my lung to work properly again.
"No," ART also said out loud through its speakers, because it was an asshole.
I switched to the feed. ART.
SecUnit, it mimicked in the same tone.
That did it. Maybe it was all the adrenaline that had decided to flood my systems that I was still in the process of purging, but I felt like fighting.

i've found your account only a few days ago but ever since then I've been STUCK here rereading your fanfics, especially ones with damian. i wasn't even a dc fan (heard about some stuf, watched some films and cartoons, but that's it) but now im reading comics since im Obsessed and need more batboys in my life (rip my productivity😔)
Anyway, after Sleepover i'm curious what will Bruce (and maybe even Thalia) think of batboys strange behaviour towards reader. He's smart, so he definitely notices it early on, but how he'll react....
I can see him being weirded out (like he was by Jason's anger issues, before his death), but he also can be an enabler, since Robin (literaly any of them) had a hard life, so if those relationships can help him why not pretend that everything is normal? you'll be safer in a Wayne's Manor anyway
All in all, thanks for a new hyperfixation 💞💞
P.s. About games:
1. Boyfriend to death 1&2 - since you're into yanderes you might want to check this game out. I prefer the second game, but the first is also fun. But beware the trigger warnings!!
2. Long live the Queen - more of a raising sim than dating sim but you still can romance some guys and girls.
,3. Hatoful Boyfriend - mostly a comedy, but there is a yandere.
4. The Royal Trap - it's been a long time since i played it, but it used to be one of my favorites so i'll just mention it.
5. Higurashi - once again not really a romance sim, but its an interesting horror mixed with a slice of life
;A; AWWWW THANK YOU IM SO HAPPY YOU LIKE MY STUFF.... THAT MAKES ONE OF US GIJSDOFAFGHFOJDSD
and yes yes get into DC!!! (girl who hasnt even read a full run since like. injustice)
damn now you got me thinking and excited. incoming spiel
i agree entirely about bruce just knowing how Bad things can get, so to make things simpler, he's like "yes, your darling(s) can stay in the manor, boys. 🙄"
mmm yes..... when it comes to bruce noticing the batboys are yandere, i think it's always sinfully delightful to just have him be reluctantly okay with it. 😈 it's also easier narratively ngl but i also like the idea that the batfam is all just corrupted.
bruce's thoughts are that they (his sons) fight for vengeance and justice but this is where they could use some leeway.... we all need our vice... they fight so hard for gotham, they deserve a little treat (getting rid of your human rights)... it's very "Dad who wants his sons to have happiness even if its not healthy" of him. in fics where bruce is a yandere, well, he's the exact same way so he can't judge. although if that's the case, i like the idea of bruce just being like "yes what we do isn't right. let's not talk about it. just don't kill <3"
still wondering what i like more. a yan!bruce who's self aware what he's doing is wrong but he just refuses to think about it. or a yan!bruce that justifies it all because of his paranoia, Tower of Babel style (if you don't know, that's when it's revealed batman has plans to subdue/kill the justice league just in case they go rogue.)
for the batboys depends on their personality... for damian, he's so resolute in things that i prefer when he just believes 100% what he's doing is okay, if not actually righteous. ^_^
hmmm talia.... I'M STILL UNSURE HOW I PREFER THAT AS WELL... i think talia being a you-arent-good-enough-for-my-son mom is a little cliche but also. she kinda would say that. you'd have to prove your worth somehow but idk how tf darling would do that LOL. in the end, i think talia is just relieved/comforted that her son indeed feels desire and wants love and will continue the family legacy (regardless if youre afab/can biologically have children.)
no THANK YOU FOR THE ASK!!! AND THANKS FOR RECS!!!! heheh yeah ive checked out btd and im not averse to the warnings its more like im not that most of into the designs ngl. fox guy seems cute? AND LMAO FUNNY BC IM ON A HIGURASHI REWATCH (never played it tho)

A tradition
Han Jisung x reader
Some yummy fluff and a hint of Halloween for fun. Some mentions of a scary movie but nothing else worth warning about.
Having a writers block with No crying in the Busrlesque club so I scrambled up this.
Word count: 1,6k
Tumblr media
Jisung's apartment smelled faintly of old books and the lingering scent of yesterday's takeout. It was a typical Friday evening in October, and the air outside was cool with the promise of an early winter. He had always been a bit of a hoarder, so the shelves were filled with books and DVDs that looked as if they hadn't moved in years. You, on the other hand, were more of a minimalist, but you found comfort in the chaos of his place. It was your safe haven when you needed a break from your pristine, almost sterile home.
The TV flickered to life, casting eerie shadows across the room. Jisung had chosen a horror movie, a classic from the 80s that you hadn't seen in ages. You both settled onto the couch, a bowl of popcorn in the middle.
"You okay with this one?" he asked, popping a kernel into his mouth, his eyes flicking over to gauge your reaction.
"Yeah," you replied, trying to sound more casual than you felt. You had always been the one to scream and hide during these movies, but tonight you were determined to keep your cool. After all, you didn't want to be the butt of his jokes again.
The movie began with the standard opening credits, the synthesizer music setting the tense atmosphere. You could feel the couch cushions sink as Jisung shifted closer, his arm brushing against yours. It sent a shiver down your spine, but not from the film. You stared at the screen, willing yourself to focus on the cheesy special effects rather than the warmth emanating from his body.
"You know, you could've picked a comedy," you quipped, trying to lighten the mood and keep the butterflies in your stomach from going haywire.
Jisung grinned. "Where's the fun in that?" His eyes sparkled with mischief, and you couldn't help but laugh, feeling a bit of the tension ease. "It's like a countdown to Halloween. This is just the appetizer. And besides this isn't even scary. Or perhaps for you it is, like literally everything "
You rolled your eyes but couldn't help smiling. Jisung had always had a flair for the dramatic. And he liked scary stuff and god how he loved Halloween. You on the other hand were a scaredy cat and Jisung knew it. He always had. But you liked watching movies with him, especially when it was something that you could hide behind, something that didn't require you to confront the feelings you had for him.
The opening scenes of the movie were more campy than scary. The actors were clearly overacting and the plot was predictable, but you found yourself getting into it. The popcorn was good and the company was great.
As the night progressed and the film grew darker, the air between you two grew heavier. You could feel it, thick and palpable. Each time a scream pierced through the TV speakers, you jumped a little closer to Jisung.
Without warning, Jisung's arm slipped around your shoulders. It was a casual, comforting gesture, one that friends often did. But the electricity of it sent your heart racing. You stiffened for a moment, unsure how to react. Your mind raced with thoughts of whether this was just a friendly move or if it meant something more.
"Don't worry," he murmured, his breath tickling your ear, "the boogeyman won't get to you while I'm here."
You managed a laugh, but it came out shakier than you intended. The warmth of his arm was comforting, but it also made your skin tingle in a way that had nothing to do with fear. You shifted slightly, trying to ignore the way your heart was thumping against your ribcage.
The movie's protagonist was now trapped in a dilapidated house with the killer on the loose. You couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy at the ease with which she navigated the shadows. You, on the other hand, felt like you were fumbling through a minefield of unspoken feelings.
As the movie hit its climax, the tension in the room spiked. You were practically in Jisung's lap, your heart pounding in time with the film's score. The silence stretched on, the only sounds being the frantic footsteps on screen and the occasional pop of popcorn.
The heroine of the film found a weapon, a knife gleaming in the moonlit kitchen. Jisung's arm tightened around you, and you glanced up at him. His eyes weren't on the screen; they were fixed on you.
"You're not scared, are you?" he teased, a gentle smile playing on his lips.
"No," you lied, your voice barely above a whisper. But the tremble in your voice betrayed you.
Jisung's smile grew into a grin. "Liar," he murmured, his eyes never leaving yours. His arm didn't move, keeping you close.
"Why do you say that?" You tried to play it cool, but the tremble in your voice was unmistakable.
Jisung leaned in closer, his eyes shimmering with a playful mischief. "It's just the way your face scrunches up," he said, his voice low and teasing. "It's adorable."
You felt your cheeks flush. No one had ever called you adorable, not like that. You turned away, focusing back on the movie, but your heart was racing. The scene had shifted to the protagonist hiding in a closet, the killer's shadow looming just outside the door.
As the suspense built, the silence grew thicker. You could hear Jisung's soft breathing next to you. You were acutely aware of the proximity of your bodies, the warmth of his arm still around your shoulders. The anticipation in the film mirrored the anticipation in your chest.
"Do you think she's going to make it?" you whispered, hoping to distract yourself from the unspoken tension.
Jisung's eyes flicked back to the screen, his smile fading a bit. "Well, she's got the knife. That's a good sign."
The scene grew tense, the killer's shadow moving closer and closer to the closet door. You found yourself gripping the edge of the couch cushion, your knuckles turning white. Jisung's grip on your shoulders tightened slightly, whether in solidarity or to keep you from jumping again, you weren't sure.
Then it happened. The jumpscare that had been so expertly crafted. The killer burst through the closet door, the protagonist's scream echoing through the apartment. In a moment of pure instinct, you leaped into Jisung's lap, your arms wrapping around his neck in a vice grip. The popcorn bowl toppled over, raining salty kernels across the floor.
Jisung's laughter was immediate, deep and contagious. He wrapped his arms around you, holding you close, his chest shaking with mirth. "You know I got you with that one," he said, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
You couldn't help but laugh too, feeling your tension dissolve into a mix of embarrassment and relief. "Shut up," you mumbled into his shoulder, trying to hide your flushed face. His laughter subsided into quiet chuckles, and you felt his arms tighten around you.
Jisung gently reached for the remote and paused the movie. The killer on the screen froze mid-leap, the protagonist's terrified expression etched in time. You pulled back slightly to look at him, your eyes wide with a mix of shock and something else.
"Maybe this should be our thing. A scary movie night, every October. It's like a tradition, you know?" he murmured softly.
"Why?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper. You were still clutching onto him, your heart hammering against his chest. Like you wanted to almost shit your pants in tradition.
Jisung leaned back, his eyes dancing with a mischievous glint. "Well, it's a good way to get you in my arms, isn't it?"
You pulled away slightly, your cheeks burning. "Jisung," you began, not quite knowing what to say. The air between you had shifted, the playful banter suddenly feeling loaded with unspoken meaning.
He met your gaze, his smile softening. "I mean it. We've been doing this for years. It's just us, scared and laughing together. It's… nice." His voice was sincere, his eyes searching yours for a response.
You took a deep breath, "Yeah," you agreed, your voice barely a murmur. "It is nice."
Jisung's expression grew more serious, his gaze intense. "But I want more than just nice," he said, his voice low and earnest. Your heart skipped a beat as his arms slid around you more securely, his hands coming to rest on your hips.
You swallowed hard, the words you'd rehearsed in your head a thousand times suddenly lost. The movie, the darkness, everything faded into the background as you stared into his eyes. You could see the question there, the hope, and the fear of rejection. The tension was no longer from the film but from the unspoken words hanging in the air.
With a tremble in your heart, you decided to make the leap. You leaned in, closing the gap between your lips. Time seemed to slow down as you felt the softness of his mouth, his surprise giving way to a gentle pressure as he responded. His arms tightened around you, pulling you closer, the warmth of his body enveloping you as the kiss grew deeper.
Breaking away, you both took a moment to breathe. Jisung's eyes searched yours, a hint of disbelief and excitement dancing in them. "Definitely starting a tradition," he murmured, his voice hoarse. His thumb traced the line of your jaw, sending a shiver down your neck.
You couldn't help but smile, your heart feeling lighter than it had in ages. "I'd like that," you said, your voice still shaky from the kiss. The confession was out, floating in the air like a whispered secret, and it felt like a weight had lifted from your shoulders.

My Main is about Jane Austen
For tracking purposes. But feel free to suggest me new Kdramas
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When the Phone Rings: What a fun insane show! It was bonkers from beginning to end. The acting was great, the OST was awesome, the story was insane. Everything you want in a makjang drama.
Text Posts
Alchemy of Souls: Visually beautiful, wonderful soundtrack, casting is amazing, story is very well thought-out, world-building is on point, loved all of it.
Trope subversions, Love Maps, Plot driven by fear
Moon in the Day: The most angsty enemies to lovers you will ever find in your life. It's completely enthralling. The past scenes with Do-ha are amazing. There are some plot holes and the secondary characters aren't very well developed, but I don't care. It was so good!
Text Posts, On the ending, the emotional journey, Webtoon vs. Drama
Doom at Your Service: The world-building is really well done, as is the symbolism. Doom is so weirdly lovable. Also has a great soundtrack.
Extraordinary You: the story gets a little drawn out in the middle episodes, but the concept is so gripping that I forgive it. The main character is really spunky and fun and the villain is probably the most interesting character in the show.
Lovely Runner: This is one of the cutest dramas I've seen in a while. Top tier cuteness. The story was really fun and I laughed a lot.
Text post, Another, Google Searches
W: Two Worlds: So good! So unpredictable! So Male Lead who was smart and actually acted smart! This is the dark companion of Extraordinary You and I loved every minute.
Happiness: the whole point of zombie horror is that the humans are the real monsters and Happiness delivered on that 100000%. Turns out Park Hyung-sik can also be serious and very good at punching people! Han Hyo-joo was also amazing. The slow burn romance was so cute. Loved it so much. Also, more of a murder mystery than a zombie show.
Zombieland Rules, Webtoon vs. Drama
Sh**ting Stars: the voluntarism in an unnamed African country wasn't great, but the rest of the show was so heartwarming and cute! There were lots of lovable characters, mature relationships, very cute friendships, and hilarious antics.
The Forbidden Marriage: The plot had lots of fun twists and the resolution was satisfying. I wish we got more So Rang hijinks in the later episodes, the hunting episode was my favourite with her running around everywhere like a maniac.
It's Okay to Not be Okay: My only critique is I wish they did more of the animations for fairy tales, but it's so good. The female lead had the most amazing outfits. The story is so good and the way they portrayed the brother's autism.
Revenant: I'm not usually into horror, but this wasn't too scary. It was very well written, the threads in the mystery all came together well. The characters were interesting and the supernatural stuff was cool. Really great acting.
Flower of Evil: Everyone was right again, it was really good. So many twists and turns, such good romance, so many good reveals. Loved it. Loved it enough to forgive the amnesia part.
Kdramas I have liked:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vincenzo - technically I'm at 19/20 but I don't want to watch the Himbo die so I might just stay here? Overall it was an enjoyable watch but the genre (Revenge comedy) didn't really click with me. There were often no consequences to anything anyone did and eventually it got a bit silly. The end of 19 was kind of a character assassination of Vincenzo.
Light Shop - it was pretty and creepy and well-acted, but I was left wanting more depth.
Family by Choice - this drama always felt so calm and happy, even when something terrible was happening, because Noodle Dad was always there to make everyone feel better. A great comfort watch.
The Judge from Hell - very interesting premise and solid execution, Justitia was believable as a demon and I like that she an Da-on met in the middle. The ending kind of dragged and it had some unexplained plot points (like the defeat of Satan)
Text post
Penthouse War in Life (S1 - 3): This is an over-the-top rich people problems revenge drama and it delivers. The writing was surprisingly good, the acting was great, and the costumes were very fun. Seasons 1 & 2 were very cohesive, S3 jumped the shark right away and everything that followed was nonsense, especially the ending. But hey, what a ride!
Twinkling Watermelon: It's good, it just wasn't for me. I enjoyed the female characters more than the main male characters (especially young Yi-chan, he really annoyed me). Eun-gyeol was too unrealistically perfect at everything. But it had nice character development and I shipped all the couples.
Kingdom: Loved it! But I refuse to put it in my top kdramas since S2 ends on a huge cliff hanger and apparently they aren't making any more. Boo to Netflix. This was more gory than Happiness, but I loved having zombies in a historical setting. (This one doesn't go in my terrible ending category because it's just the last ten minutes that suck, not the last one or two episodes)
Ending fix, why the ending sucks
A Shop for Killers: an interesting action drama. I was surprised by one or two of the reveals but they were well written, I liked the non-linear storytelling and Jian as a character. The backstory about Bale got a bit too dark/gory for me but I should have expected that with this genre.
Haechi: Really strong beginning, lots of action, I enjoyed the court drama and the action bits. The only problem was that once the main character stopped being a scrappy underdog, it was just a lot of him winning which got slightly boring. The ending was very pro-monarchy, but from everything I've been able to read in English, this guy was a good king so good for him I guess? Also, the female lead went from interesting to doing nothing with heart eyes.
The Atypical Family: A very interesting superhero/time travel story with a fun ensemble cast. I didn't love any particular character (except I-Na), but the story was really fascinating and I was never bored.
Doctor Slump: Very cute and relaxing watch. The FL's family was really cute, especially her mom! The focus on mental health was nice, though there was a bit too much of an idea that a relationship can fix your depression/PTSD. But still good!
Text post
Daily Dose of Sunshine: this made me cry multiple times. The visuals for how different disorders feel was fascinating. Good resolutions for the characters. I loved it all despite the unrealistic endings.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo: I'm blown away by their portrayal of autism. They don't shy away from making her ticks and mannerisms off-putting, awkward, and even somewhat annoying, but Young-woo has joy, she has imagination, she loves life. It's so much better than anything with an autistic character that I've seen in Western media. Not 10/10 because I did get a bit uninterested in the later cases when I wanted to know where the love story was going.
Choi Su-yeon
Oh My Ghost: I loved this one! Park Bo-young did an amazing job playing an oppressed shaman and possessed-by-a-ghost. It was very well written: there weren't any ridiculous sideplots and I was never bored. I did think the ending dragged a little bit, but overall I loved it.
The King's Affection: I think it probably could have been cut down to 16 episodes instead of 20, but very good. The female crown price is so scared all the time and I want to hug her, but also badass! It's a very hard line to walk but they do it well. Also, the bodyguard who is also an assassin is so hot and the costumes are great.
My Lovely Liar: very cute and occasionally very scary. Probably one of the most normal relationships I've seen in a Kdrama, no destiny or fate just two people who like each other. The murder mystery was well done, though I'm not sure how I feel about the final reveal.
Hospital Playlist: The epitome of slice of life. I enjoyed all the characters, especially Lee Ik-jun, The Ghost, and Long Winter (Jang Gyeo-ul) and the cute kid! I love the mom and the hospital director hanging out together. The band! I cannot stop listening to their songs!
What's Wrong with Secretary Kim: I liked that for once the big trauma didn't come from the parents, what a twist! I actually loved how ridiculously narcissistic the ML was and I loved the competent and mature FL. They didn't have any ridiculous misunderstandings and they never broke up. And the ML's friend was very funny.
King the Land: The show got better as it went on. The female lead was so competent and sure of herself. The parts about the friends' struggles was heartbreaking a lot of the time. I also loved how positive the female relationships were.
Kdramas with Great Beginnings and Terrible Endings (I don't mean sad, I mean they squandered their potential):
Tumblr media
No Gain No Love: this drama barrelled through every sexually conservative expectation for Kdramas. They really defeated a bad guy with glow-in-the-dark dildos. Who would have ever imagined? I loved the leads, but the ending was lacking in that Hae-yeong never achieved her career ambitions. The love story was great though and I've rewatched parts of it already.
Text posts
Because This is My First Life: The ending was terrible and gross, but the female characters were so well written and fleshed out that I can almost forgive it. I related so much to all of them. Also, the best explanation ever for why a woman would choose a marriage without love.
Queen of Tears: I loved the set-up but for me it lost it's way at the end. Too many dramatic moments and the Magic Cancer surgery and Magic Amnesia Month were just too much of a strain on my ability to suspend my disbelief. But the performances were very good, from the leads and the secondary characters, and the premise was good. I enjoyed like 80% of the show.
Text posts
Captivating the King: I'm struggling to rate this one. The ML was amazing, but the FL seemed to just always be wide-eyed scared/worried. The writing was great for the first half, but the ending was ambiguous in a way I didn't enjoy. The intimate scene in Ep 8/9 was awesome, but then we didn't really get more. I wish they had stuck the landing. Smart character became dumb.
Marry My Husband: very fun drama, I especially enjoyed Su-min and Min-hwan, who were some of the most deep villains I've seen portrayed. However, I hated the Yu-ra storyline and I felt like the ML kept the secret of his death for way too long. Also, no happy ending for the secondary couples! I wanted more screen time with them.
Webtoon vs. Drama, Text Post
The Story of Park's Marriage Contract: It was fluffy and fun, I loved Sa-wol the maid, we should have had more of her! I hated the ending though, so much. Just so bad.
Kdramas that are So Bad They Are Somehow Good:
Tumblr media
Perfect Marriage Revenge - This show did exactly what it set out to do, be completely over-the-top dramatic. The male lead looks like a Ken doll dressed by an eight year old, the mothers have the most over the top outfits and hairstyles ever, someone eats DNA test results, it's a delight to watch.
Hwarang: really great acting despite a mediocre script, but man so many plot holes and unresolved plots. I never totally decided if the Queen Dowager was actually trying to help her son or just holding on to power and I feel like they should have made that clearer. Also, what was that love triangle??? But I did enjoy myself the whole time.
Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale: the acting was good enough that except for the first episode, I enjoyed myself the whole time. Also so many good kissing scenes! Fun subversion of the Cinderella trope.
Other Kdramas I've watched:
Tumblr media
Cinderella at 2am: It was cute, but I ended up liking the second couple more and I wish they'd had more screen time. I don't think the male lead is a very good actor either.
Perfect Family: the story was engaging enough but it had such a weird ending. Like not dissatisfying, but just strange? Also, my favourite actor was dead basically the whole time, which I knew going in but it still made me sad.
The Red Sleeve: full review here and also here, but basically, I loved the Crown Prince's story, but the female lead fell flat. They never sufficiently explained the FL's emotional journey and they also kept ruining female characters. Justice for the Queen Dowager!
Soundtrack #1: I hate endless, hopeless pining and that's all this was. It had it's cute moments, but I always felt like the male lead was in pain and I didn't enjoy that.
Hospital Playlist 2: Somehow it wasn't as good as the first season, I found myself actually getting bored. But it was nice to see all the couples get together.
Goblin/Guardian the Great and Lonely God: The roommate stuff is hilarious! It did move slowly at times, I wanted the Grim Reaper/Sunny stuff to move faster. I got really annoyed at Kim Shin for not being honest with Eun-tak. Sometimes the product placement annoyed me. But it's very beautiful and I was very invested in everyone. Problem is, I don't think I ever want to watch it again.
Tale of the Nine Tailed + 1938 - It's fun, but the lore/world-building don't make a whole lot of sense. The Serpent is pretty over powered in S1 and really ought to have won. 1938 was better but the female mountain goddess made zero sense as a character. Lee Rang is probably the best part of the whole series, and his little murder fox girl in S1 or mermaid girl in S2.
Castaway Diva: I love the songs and the found family parts, but the story was lacking. Especially the older singer's story made very little sense and didn't come to a satisfying conclusion. And why not show us a little of the main couple being together?
Hotel del Luna - I enjoyed the ghost parts but the dynamic between the main couple was a mess. He is so unconditionally nice and she is such a jerk to him!
Strong Girl Bong-Soon - I loved all the parts with Bong-Soon and Min-hyuk, like he was the cutest, sweetest boy ever, but everything else was kind of annoying. And the kidnapper parts were really creepy! I just wanted Bong-Soon to smash more things. I also hated Guk-doo and I wanted all the women to dump his ass.
Business Proposal - It was cute, but it bothered me that Ha-ri wouldn't just talk to Tae-moo about her concerns about dating him. Ha-ri may be the only female lead ever with a healthy family dynamic, yay for her! The secondary couple was fun.
Death's Game - I enjoyed the genre and actor switches at first, but then it seemed to veer into being about the serial killer CEO and then back to being about suicide and the resolution left me unsatisfied.
Webtoon vs. Drama
My Demon - It was fun, but the world-building wasn't great and the ending was fine. I felt like it tried to be Doom at Your Service but failed (there were many, many references/thefts).
Destined with You - I really liked some parts of it, especially the leads and I actually liked the office romance with Hong-jo's boss (until the last episode), but they left so many things unanswered that I wish were revealed! It's like the writers forgot it was a fantasy drama halfway through and just went in a totally different direction. It makes me angry.
The Uncanny Counter - The concept was good, the actors were good, the chemistry between the actors was amazing, but the story went way off the rails. So Mun just became way too over-powered and the plot needed more balance. I wanted more demon catching and less mayor stuff. I did like the bully being saved and reformed.
100 Days My Prince - I hated the main couple, he was just too distant and she should have figured out who he was like 10 minutes in. It felt like they only got together because he was obsessed with her, I would have preferred the nice face-blind guy. I ended up liking the peasant friend couple and the murderous princess and her assassin boyfriend better.
Started but not finished:
Hometown Cha Cha Cha - I hated it. Dropped at 9/16. Review. Frustration. Moving - I started it, it seems really slow. I think I'm four or five episodes in. The Crowned Clown - First episode was way too dark! Live Up To Your Name - Acupuncture is magic? Moonlight Drawn by Clouds - the first episode seemed bonkers Strong Girl Nam-Soon - could not even force myself to watch it. Total mess The Impossible Heir - Even Lee Jae-wook couldn't save this messy plot. My Sweet Mobster - stopped watching at Ep 10, I couldn't handle the jealousy and I found the FL really boring. River Where the Moon Rises - the pacing is bad (always seems like they are running around) and for some reason I cannot with the ML's super white teeth in the year 500 A.D. Ep 11/20 Our Blooming Youth - it has it's moments, but it started out creepy and most of the time is just silly. I do want to know how the mystery unravels but not enough to care right now 12/20 Fated to Love You (You are My Destiny) - I really liked the first episodes but after the miscarriage, it just seems like unnecessary delay of getting them back together. 14/20

I just thought of the comedy potential in a Superkids summer camp.
I imagine the other members of the Justice League are super impressed with the robins and want their children to have basic training so they have a better chance at surviving. So they ask Batman about it. He says no (probably because the idea that he can train kids to survive is a bit triggering to him), so they ask Nightwing about it and he's delighted to organize with his siblings.
This would be for the youngest of heros/children of heros so think Damian and younger. Except for Damian all the Bat kids are camp counselor. Some rapid fire thoughts:
Dick and Barbara are the main camp counselors. They sometimes have to leave camp because duty calls (I mean, all of them have to at some point). Dick would teach the kids how to properly fall, a lot of knots and some fun beginners acrobatics. The kids love him because he's great at retelling stories at the bonfire. All of the campers are trying to piece together his love life because it sounds chaotic.
Barbara teaches the kids basic tech skills, how to properly use comms and how to spot cameras and mics. She and Jason may not be as outwardly protective as Dick but they understand the danger of being a hero's kid (Gordon counts as a hero to me). The kids think she's fun because she's always up to mess with the boys, but she's also the one that talks about the serious stuff. When Dick gave them the talk about the importance of their safety at first they didn't take him seriously. It's Barbara who (with tact of course) makes them understand they're not invulnerable, and everyone needs training.
Cass might get overwhelmed at times because communication doesn't come easy to her and kids are particularly prone to misunderstanding things (sometimes on purpose). She still enjoys it tho, and considers it good practice (Barbara is really proud of her). She teaches hand to hand combat and hr marshmallows are always perfect.
Jason is conflicted. I think he would have a lot of fun pulling pranks and teaching the kids how to aim with different weapons (non lethal of course), but the premise of "these kids have a target on their back" hits a bit close to home. He's definitely broken down about it at some point. He hides it well and tells amazing fictional bonfire stories (that aren't the plot of classical books reimagined)
Steph is the local expert in disguises and teaches the kids different accents and how to change body language. She's also extremely chaotic and helps the kids pull pranks on the rest of the counselors. The kids love her impressions and she provides voices for Dicks stories in exchange for marshmallows.
Tim is having a lot of fun and I imagine him and Dick are reminiscing about Young Justice/Teen Titans a lot now that they're surrounded by kids. He teaches the kids how to be stealthy and probably introduces them to the art of "always having a backup plan for your back up plans". He corrects Dicks inaccuracies when his retelling his own battles (and provides evidence with Barbs). He would also be amazing at telling horror stories.
Duke would be the one helping the kids find creative uses for their powers. Since they're still young a lot of them are still figuring it out. He also helps non metas to spot the weaknesses in superpowers. Also he, Jason and Steph definitely give the kids the ACAB talk (Tim offers to distract Dick and Barbara). He makes visual aids for bonfire stories (sometimes he makes Dick look derpy because that's how siblings work).
Damian hates the whole idea at first. Sure, he gets to spend time with John but he could have done that without a bunch of bumbling idiots around. And half of those are not even his siblings! He considers it beneath him, he doesn't need to learn what he knew at five. He starts helping the other kids out because "he just can't stand to watch such incompetence". The kids start going to him for advice and at first he's very annoyed but eventually he realizes that they're looking at him as some sort of camo leader. Then he gets really flustered about it (especially when some of them start calling him friend). Dick and Tim high five behind his back, it was the plan all along.
(Damm this got long sorry. I would love to hear your ideas on possible interactions or other things the bat kids could teach the kids. I really don't know much about the younger gen)
I don't know much about the younger generation as well :( I really like this idea, though! And you're absolutely fine. This ask wasn't that long and was super enjoyable ^^
There's a ton of cute ideas that you've mentioned with the batkids and campers. It kind of got away from me, but I started to wonder about them making camp an annual event.
They could extend the camp out to people who have powers in general instead of just heroes kids. The camp would be disguised (even from some parents who don't know their kid is trying to be a vigilante or has powers). It's a great idea to give the kids survival techniques, connections, training, etc. The fact that it's over the summer also helps so that the kids can focus on school during the school year.
The camp is funded and slightly looked over by the JL, but it's mainly headed by the batkids. Some of their hero friends also help out over the summer if they want to and can.
Eventually, they start to have organization for what's being taught. They have many many classes taught by different heroes, vigilantes, anti-heroes, trusted contacts, etc. They want the kids to have fun, but be safe. Here are some of their classes:
First Aid/Medical Help - All campers are required to have some sort of first aid class on their schedule. They can test out of the lower levels, but most end up repeating a class. It's been 10 or so months since they last learned the material. The camp is certified to allow campers to get a CPR certificate if they complete this class.
Stealth - various levels on staying hidden in different scenarios, blending in, or getting away enough to hide
Disguises - This includes keeping and maintaining a secret identity
Hero Ethics - This class goes over various laws in place (regionally, nationally, and internationally), the impact of capes on the community level, etc.
Vigilante/Hero Arrests - Basically how heroes make arrests, how this holds up in a court of law, necessary steps, evidence gathering, etc.
Power Safety - how to safely experiment with your power, when to use it, how to use it, etc.
Fun with Powers - how to let loose a little, enjoy the moments, and be free with any powers. It also allows campers to feel more confident and reassured.
Water Fighting/Rescue - They use the lake to demonstrate how to help people, how to fight various villain types over water, and how to calm down panicked civilians in water. They also have classes geared towards teaching people to swim or row
Arts, Crafts, and Police Sketches - Usually for fun, but the higher levels help people with making quick witness sketches
Dance and Movement - teaching folks how to move their bodies in various ways, how to incorporate dance into they fighting, how to dance in general, and how different movements create different effects
Being Prepared - backup plans for the backup plans
The Downsides of Being a Hero - older campers are eligible to take this class so that they are aware of the consequences of this path. Once you're in it, it's hard to let go. They want people to make informed decisions (they aren't discouraging heroics. Rather, they are chatting about the ugly sides people don't usually talk about).
Life Essentials - cooking, cleaning, sewing, taxes, etc.
Survival - How to survive in all types of scenarios (rural, urban, in forests, deserts, etc.)
Night Classes - stuff they teach after it gets dark (navigating in little to no light, for instance)
There's probably more, but this seemed like a solid start. They have campfires, lots of free time to explore, trails to hike, those blow-up water things, plenty of games mixed around, treasure hunts, capture the flag nights, etc. They want the kids to be safe, have people they can turn to for advice, but to still be kids.
My response doesn't really focus on the batkids, but you can try to assign who teaches what, which friends get dragged into camp, how all the logistics are handled, who's playing music over the intercoms, fun pranks they do, and other stuff.

honestly idk about you but I loooved the first episode. it was amazing. but I realised I got my hopes up so much in regards to how heavily Tommy is going to be involved in the plane disaster and now I'm pretty sure he's going to be barely in it and icl I'm so disappointed. not with the show and the writers, but with myself 🥲 I guess I wanted to see Tommy in danger a little, perhaps not to the same extent as Athena but in danger nonetheless, ahh 😅 but I'm sure 8x02 and 8x03 are gonna eat either way! I really can't wait to see what they came up with
I absolutely loved it! It hits a nice balance of everything: humor, thrill, frustration, horror, warmth. It's nicely paced and generally a very fun watch. I mentioned last season that the BuckTommy dinner scene in 7x10 felt a bit awkward because they writers seemed to be cramping a lot of information as a setup for S8 in less than a minute. 8x01 managed to catch up with the personal lives of all the mains, foreshadow the obstacles they're going to face, and set up the opening disaster in a few short scenes.
The whole perfume launch call sequence? Chef's kiss. Buck's eureka moment? Buck chasing after Eddie with a few more squirts of perfume? Eddie running in laps around the pool to distract the bees with Flight of the Bumblebee in the background? Monty the beekeeper? Comedy gold.
Don't be so hard on yourself! Isn't part of the fun speculating and imagining what's going to happen on the show? You have your theory, I have mine, the show is most likely going to do a completely different third thing. Think about it, when has the show let us down ever since Tommy's reintroduction? We keep making wrong predictions, but the writers keep giving us something unexpected yet somehow better. Remember we all thought Tommy would rescue Chimney and fly him to the wedding in 7x06? Well, he didn't make his hero entrance, he was just busy fighting a wildfire, but he rushed to the hospital especially for Buck, no one else.
Airport 1975 is very... 70s, I don't think the exact plot would work in 2024 without some major tweaking. The flight attendant managing to keep the plane flying doesn't get nearly enough credit for that, instead the script frames her ex-boyfriend, the flight instructor who repels into the cockpit and lands the plane as the hero. (And everyone from her ex to ATC keeps calling her honey every 3 minutes and talking to her like she's dumb. I'm so glad 8x01 takes a jab at that in its first scene.) Needless to say I'm not a huge fan of the film, other than that big sexy 747 in the classic American Airlines bare metal livery. I hope the 911 remake of that will involve more team work and female pilots.
Tumblr media
Such a beauty. Unfortunately I was born too late to see it with my own eyes.
Tommy can still very much be in danger.🙈Whether you believe Tommy can fly a giant airliner or not, he's definitely trained in fighting aircraft fire. It's dangerous, a lot of stuff can suddenly explode. Firefighters have been injured and killed in post crash landing explosions. (Expert in fighting fire with an aircraft AND fighting fire on an aircraft, geez Tommy, leave some expertise for the rest of us.) He might not be the hero who singlehandedly saves everyone in 8x02 and 8x03, but I believe he will be involved in the rescue in some capacity. I mean, it's an airport and the 217 truck is right there.
Feel free to ignore everything I said, anon. Ultimately, we still have fanfiction, so keep playing around with ideas, keep writing, keep reading and have fun!

The Manor Residents and Horror Movies
Talking about what kind of horror movies each of the characters like and why
Toby is someone that mainly just wants to have a good time. To him, a horror movie doesn’t even have to be scary in order for it to be good, it just needs to at least be entertaining. That’s why he tends to lean towards your classic slashers and has enjoyed that small wave of horror comedy movies we got a few years back.
- Favorite movies: Scream and The Babysitter
______________
Tim prefers horror movies that give you an uneasy feeling rather than outright scaring you. He goes for the movies that gives him a sense of dread and will leave him staying awake at night not because he’s scared but because he can’t stop thinking about it.
- Favorite movies: Skinamarink and Creep
___________
Most people would say that Brian is kind of a freak when it comes to horror movies because he likes the blood and guts and gore, but there’s a decent reason for it. He is someone who almost never gets scared, so most horror movies end up being pretty dull. That’s why he turns to the ones that have the most creative kills because the over the top manner is borderline comical for him.
- Favorite Movie: Terrifier
__________________
Jeff loves a good mystery more than anything, so he enjoys horror movies that really get his brain turning trying to figure out what is even happening. He loves it more when movies need that second viewing and all the small details he missed the first time come together.
- Favorite Movie: Get Out
__________________
Ben doesn’t really care for horror movies unless they tie into a special interest of theirs be it video games or general tech heavy movies. This leads to them really liking the blend of horror and sci-fi.
- Favorite Movies: Possessor and The Invisible Man (2020)
________________
Natalie is a little weird when it comes to horror. She likes challenging herself with the over the top shit. The stuff that would reach the bottom of those disturbing movie icebergs, but at the same time she doesn’t like mindless torture. She prefers disturbing movies that still tell a story over exploitation for the sake of exploitation. After all, she is an artist that loves to find meaning in some of the more disturbed content.
- Favorite Movie: V/H/S/94: The Subject
___________________
Jack isn’t really picky when it comes to horror movies. He just likes anything that tells a good story. He really likes books, and movies are like audiobooks to him since he can’t really watch them. Tell an interesting story, and he’ll be hooked.
- Favorite Movies: Midsommar and The Strangers
_________________
Jane loves a good, campy, over the top, ridiculous, fun horror movie. Horror movies that are actually scary are just such a downer to her. She wants mindless fun to turn to in order to relax after singlehandedly keeping the manor residents alive. She also just likes watching something as dramatic as her.
- Favorite Movies: Bodies Bodies Bodies and Cabin in the Woods
__________________
Nina talks a big game when it comes to horror movies, saying she can handle anything when she’s really a massive wimp. Despite being a true crime girlie (derogatory), the spectacles of horror movies like jump scares and suspenseful music freak her out. It’s probably why the only ones she can really handle are those subtle horror mockumentaires as they purposely mimic the style of all those true crime documentaries she likes to watch.
- Favorite Movie: Banned from Broadcast: Saiko! The Large Family
___________________
For obvious reasons, Sally can’t watch a lot of horror movies, but it hasn’t stopped her from trying. By trying I mean that she watches a lot of cartoon Halloween specials because she thinks that those count as horror.
- Favorite movie: Scary Godmother
____________________
Slender is a fan of the classics, and I mean the classics. Like black and white, super old school, really not all that scary by today standards. Frankly speaking, newer forms of technology freak him out as much as it fascinates him. He still barely has texting down, so when it comes to really any kind of movie, he’ll go for the old ones to relax with. They provide comfort to his overly anxious self.
- Favorite Movie: Frankenstein (1931)

Note
Hello! I'd like to request for a DC matchup please. ^^
Name: Aurora Pronouns: they/them Character preference: Someone from teen titans or the batfam
MBTI: INFP Enneagram: 4w5 sp/sx Zodiac: Cancer Moral alignment: True neutral (leaning slightly towards lawful evil)
Personality: Introspective and rational, terrified of conflict. I daydream a lot and tend to space out when I’m not talking to someone. I’m a true introvert, but I love to talk to certain people and about things I find interesting, like my fixations or a fun hypothetical situation. I observe people more than I want to interact with them. I'm also good at reading people (to the point where my brother thinks I can read people's minds). Purple represents me best as a colour.
I value my authenticity, creativity and emotional intelligence (I can’t say I’m really empathetic, but I listen to people when they need me to and I try to be there for them). But I am quite sensitive and emotional. I tend to remember events in which I was hurt easily. My friend would describe me as a jaded Disney princess because I daydream a lot and used to be idealistic as a kid but now I'm more of a realist/pessimist. They also say that I can be blunt most of the time.
Love languages: Giving - gift giving and quality time, receiving - words of affirmation and acts of service
Hobbies: Reading, looking for fanfiction with amazing writing styles (descriptions, vibes, the closer it reads like poetry, the better), writing (fanfiction for now, but I plan to become a professional writer in the future e.g. movies, tv shows, manga), listening to music, psychoanalyzing people, analyzing fictional characters, watching horror movie summaries and anime/movie reaction videos
Likes: POETRY, anime (mostly shounen, but I've watched some movies as well), manga, analyzing characters with many layers to them, personality typology (the closest thing I've had to a hyperfixation. my all-time favourite is enneagram, but I’ve had astrology and MBTI phases), personality quizzes, action or comedy movies, visiting cafes, looking at sunrises and sunsets, watching storms (LIGHTNING), crochet flowers and plushies (I don’t crochet, I just buy them), phone charms, the colour purple, window shopping, video essays (marketing - celebrities, not companies, somewhat deep topics like love and philosophy, literature and film analysis - especially themes of horror movies, despite me being too chicken to actually watch the moves)
Thank you for your hard work!

𝖈𝖆𝖘𝖘𝖆𝖓𝖉𝖗𝖆 𝖈𝖆𝖎𝖓- 𝖇𝖆𝖙𝖌𝖎𝖗𝖑
you're good at reading people, and as a girl with limited speech and mostly uses body language to communicate ...it fits in my opinion
she feels you understand her, and initially that's what brought you both together at least before Barbara taught her to speak. Cassandra was overjoyed the days you'd also join in on the lessons and help her it just made things more comfortable for her with you around
once she learned to read more, she definitely loved joining you when you did, doesn't matter where as long as she was close to you, she didn't mind it one bit <3
she was the one who confessed, after Steph helped her realize her feelings towards you. She probably let it slip out on a night of patrol
she notices your habit of buying crochet plushies, and she began getting you some. though she wouldn't give them to you up front, you'd just find them in your stuff or somewhere she knows you'd find them with a sweet little note from her
Shes also a good listener, and she will gladly lend an ear when you want to talk about something that you are excited about, she finds it endearing and your voice is something that's comforting to her so that's a bonus

MONTHLY MEDIA: December 2024
I'm not one to rank stuff at the end of the year cause I'm easily swayed by recency bias. Anyway here's how I spent this final month of the year two thousand and twenty-four.
……….FILM……….
Tumblr media
Josie and the Pussycats (2001) Some of my favourite art is both joyful and scathing. It's such a fine line to walk and a miracle when it works. Having never seen this before, it took me about three scenes saturated with product placements to realize that Josie and the Pussycats walks that line perfectly. Instant top film for me.
Tumblr media
The Holiday (2006) This is a movie that I enjoy every time I watch it, but for different reasons. Sometimes I love how unique it was to cast Jack Black in this role, and sometimes I feel like he sticks out like a sore thumb. This time what really stood out was FedEx's sponsorship.
Santa Claus is Comin' to Town (1970) There's something really zen about defeating the villain by outliving them. No better way to succeed than by continuing to live your best life.
Tumblr media
Akira (1988) Got to see this in the theatre for the first time and it was such a wildly different experience. The surround sound was cranked, the imagery filled my entire field of vision, and the audience was dialed in. It was incredible.
Tumblr media
Die Hard (1988) I know it's cliché but this is a holiday staple. Every year I think about why the scene of Sergeant Al shooting Karl sits wrong. I know it completes his arch and maybe saving John and Holly redeems him, but is it necessary? It's the ONE scene that keeps this from being a perfect movie in my books. Anyway I love it.
Midsommar (2019) Still isn't the movie for me. I know horror, by default, tends to be mean-spirited, but I still don't get why the London couple was murdered. They seemed pretty chill and nice and had a natural response to the cliff-jumping. Glad Dani found a family though!
……….TELEVISION……….
Tumblr media
Skeleton Crew (Episode 1.01 to 1.04) Slow to check this out simply because the recent Star Wars shows haven't really inspired much hope. Happy to be proven wrong as the show, so far, is a delight! My only fear is that it'll all tie into some legacy character in the last episode. Please I just want a show that exists in this world but does its own thing.
Columbo (Episode 2.01 to 2.05) Consistently fun and I always appreciate how the crimes allow a little more of Columbo's character/personality to be revealed (the London episode's final particularly stands out).
Arcane (Episode 2.04 to 2.09) Continuously stunning but ultimately not where I thought it was heading. Season one spent so much time on the class disparity but that's mostly ignored in the second season in favour of a big battle that ultimately wasn't impacted by the majority of the main characters.
Tumblr media
Dan Da Dan (Episode 1.10 to 1.12) I didn't realize the season ended at 12 episodes (and at such a strange point, narratively) but I'm really enjoying this world and its weird cast of characters. Again: if you check it out and find the alien probing scene of the first episode to be too much, know that I felt the same way and feel like the series hasn't hit that same low point in the remaining 11 episodes.
A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter Of the current era's popstars, I know the least about Carpenter and her music. The writing was sharper than I was expecting but the audience insert shots reminded me more of a modern comedy special than a classic variety show. Just give me some low wide shots of the audience watching the show, otherwise I assume the B roll is staged. Merry Christmas!
The Chair (Episode 1.01 to 1.06) A great lil series of television. Loved the setting and characters, but admit I found the ending to be a mixed bag (some threads were tied up in a really smart way while others seemed to be totally forgotten) but overall satisfying. It looks at these complex issues complexly and I respect that.

……….READING……….
Tumblr media
The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding by Agatha Christie (Complete) Perfect holiday read though I didn't realize it was a collection of short stories. Some were more fun to read than others, but that's on me as I have trouble keeping characters straight if they aren't given much more than a name and description.
The Sailor on the Seas of Fate by Michael Moorcock (Complete) These old pulp fantasy novels are always an interesting read. The characters are little more than names and descriptions, and the plots feel familiar (probably because of how influential they were on what came after) but what I enjoy most Moorcock's breakneck pace. Some of the books from this era are one concept stretched out beyond its limits, but this is full of concepts that could fill out an entire book yet get a couple of chapters before moving onto the next cool thing.
Tumblr media
Hawkeye by Matt Fraction, David Aja, and many more (Complete) I frequently choose to reread this around the holidays. Even before the loosely-adapted show stuck with the Christmas timing, it's just felt like a winter read. Can't recommend this enough for really highlighting what comics can be.
Reckless by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips (Complete) The art is great but after reading a couple of Brubaker books, I now realize I do not like his writing style. I wish Brubaker would let some of the storytelling happen through the visuals but that's not his approach and honestly I think I'd prefer reading his work if it was strictly a novella or full length book.
……….AUDIO……….
Tumblr media
Brat by Charli XCX (2024) Hey have you heard of this album? Pretty good.
……….GAMING……….
Tumblr media
Spot it! (Blue Orange Games) I won't be swayed on the fact that this is one of the best party games. Good for most ages and player count, easy to drop in and out of the game, and (most importantly) very quick to explain and easy to grasp the premise. Every card has 8 symbols on it. Every card matches with every other card via 1 symbol. The matching symbol is different on each card. There are different games to play based on this fact but most tend to involve finding the matching symbols first to get rid of your cards. It's frantic and fun and rounds take just a few minutes. Super fun.
And that's it. See you in 2025!

I have been reading some comments around and just thought I would give you my two cents about a couple of things. Just for the sake of sharing and infusing some calming positivity above the fandom I hope.
I come from a long viewer experience; deeply invested viewer experience. I love tv shows, I love falling in love with them; I am kinda selective, I do not waste much time on those that do not resonate for me, but I can watch crime stories, horror ones, love stories, spies ones, as long as they have something that intrigues me. But when there’s a good love story, I am like Penelope. I can’t resist. I love to watch the relationships unfolding, I love the ups and downs, the rollercoaster of emotions. Blending comedy with drama, as well. And from time to time I love the feeling to find just my perfect cup of tea. That one show feeding my soul in that particular moment of my life. Among my favs, just to give a picture: This is Us, Jane the Virgin, The Good Place, The Good Wife, Modern Family, House, and many others.
I come from a long experience then. And getting invested, shipping a couple with the highest level of expectations can be tricky. Especially if you let PR strategy get to you.
On one level, you expect so much from the show you’re watching, you start making up fantasies of your own, picturing stuff in your head and that of course never materializes. It would be impossible. And yet some creative decisions serve a higher purpose. It’s a work of art. Some people would always find something they do not like so much, others will go along. If you don’t have expectations and are less invested, you probably end up enjoying it more, in a sense. But there’s a lot of work behind it all, so many professionals giving their hearts and souls to the project, putting their whole selves in it, to give us the best story, told in the best way they could conceive it. Doing their absolute best. And it feels disrespectful to me, destroying their efforts, just because a few things weren’t the dream come true of my expectations.
On the other hand, and this goes beyond what should be said or discussed, PR strategy is just what it is. And it adds some fun of course but actors have their lives. Although they generously share them with us, play with us, humor the fandom. We don’t have any idea how difficult that must be at times. At yet they do it with a smile of their faces, keeping up the facade even if they might feel unease (which is understandable even if they can play along and laugh about it cause they are professionals and actors to the core). That being said, despite someone might like to fantasize, whatever personal choices or people they love or date, that doesn’t diminish the bonds they create, the chemistry, the affection or the special connection we observe and love so much about them. All of these have fueled their performance, nurture it. And I believe it’s a blessing. Just as much Kanthony was so good because of the great friendship b/w John and Simone. Paraphrasing Benedict, there might be enough love for everyone. To have a special someone and yet loving to bits one of your best friends, who might even be some sort of soulmate or just a what if that nevertheless will never come true. Or maybe not. Everyone is the main character of their own life. Only they can tell. But as a friendly advice, from an older me to my younger self, and to the ones among you feeling off right now, I would say, do learn to separate fiction from reality. Characters from people. Their lives go on just the same. Yours might feel deprived of something that is just in your heads and was never truly yours. You just borrowed someone else’s alleged emotions, picking up glances and smiles, and cute stuff alright but… focus on your life. And take advantage of fiction when it can let you fly high, elsewhere, far way, and get you come back home with a different feeling inside you. Healing or filling whatever hole you felt that needed care and mending.
I want to let it sink in. And go back rewatching season 3 with some more detachment. I gave it 9 out 10 really. I feel so blessed by this tale of love and so grateful for all the fun of the press tour.
Tumblr media
Let’s keep having fun.
