He finally replied in a shaky voice, and you were finally able to breathe and call the staff that would go get Charles and his car off the track.

Unbeknownst to you, Charles was having a mental crisis. You spoke French?

His ears were ringing as he tried to think back your years friendship for any signs. He came up empty. He was positive he’d never heard you speak French before. And he was positive he should not be hard, climbing out of his car after a crash.

When he got back to the garage, you were waiting for him, ready to ask him how he was but before you could say anything he grabbed your arm and dragged you into the nearest room slash maintenance cupboard he could find.

“What the hell are you doing Charles?”

He locked the door and when he turned back around his eyes were dark and stormy “Since when do you speak french?” he asked.

You just blinked at him.

“What?”

He backed you up against the wall, hands either side of your waist.

“Since when” he spoke patronizingly slowly “Do. You. Speak. French.”

Your eyebrows furrowed in utter confusion.

“Charles, I am French. I have a French name. I was born and raised in France! What the fuck do you mean ‘since when do I speak french’???!”

His eyes widened as he realized how oblivious he’d been.

“My dad is friends with Pierre’s parents! I started my career at Renault! I brought you wine from my family’s vineyard! Charles how-  how could you not have known?” You laughed at him as he just stood there flabbergasted at his own stupidity.

“Sérieusement? Comment?” (seriously, how?)

His brain seemed to reboot and he put his arms around you “Je suis désolé, je suis vraiment débile” (I’m sorry, I’m so stupid) he giggled into your hair.

The proximity was odd but not unwelcome, as you put your arms around him and laughed with him, inhaling his pleasant scent.

“Tu as mis du parfum? Tu sens bon. ” (Have you got cologne on? You smell good)

He groaned. “Keep talking, please” and he squeezed you tighter against him.

Javier pointed his gun up... but he also didn't

I have always been on the "Javier pointed his gun up" team, especially because there is an interview with Javier's va saying he did point it up, however after seeing all of the "he actually didn't" I decided to look into it and they are right, there is a short moment you can see him pointing the gun at John and Arthur.

I absolutely hate tumblr for not allowing more vids in a post but at 00.24 is the scene and at 00.34 it is pointed out.

However what does this mean? We have two contradictions, one being the literal game, the other being a voice actor coming out and saying that he actively fought for Javier to point his gun up, we cannot dismiss either. They both has meaning, the fact that he pointed it up and he pointed it at Arthur and John has a meaning and it makes the scene so much more heart breaking.

I think this scene really shows Javier's emotional conflict, because this was not a "slow draw" as I have also seen people say, Javier's va literally states it isn't, this is hesitation, this is conflict, this is discomfort, he does not want to point that gun at John and Arthur but he does it in the end either way because he also does not want to betray Dutch.

(More thoughts under the cut but they are more in dept for the nerds like myself)

The thing with Javier is that he can see things are going wrong, but unlike John and Arthur he doesn't experience it first hand. The two others were left to die by Dutch several times each meanwhile Javier wasn't, while Arthur saw Dutch killing an old lady and going against his principals, Javier saw Dutch coming to rescue him when he needed it the most. Dutch went out of his way to save Javier, meanwhile, Arthur was left even when Dutch could have saved him with minimal effort in the factory.

Dutch gave Javier a job, clothing, food and a family, he gave him everything that he could have hoped for, this was the best-case scenario for Javier when he crossed the border. Javier owes everything to Dutch, it is natural he wants to stick with him because Javier was in a special situation and Dutch was one of a kind. Javier spoke no English, he was in his twenties, he was weak, he was starving, he had nothing. Arthur and John on the other hand, though they owe Dutch a lot, they could have made it even without him (at least if John had made it out the gallows). They were young, they spoke english, they were harsh, and any idiot with a dream could see they had potential, Javier did not have that. It is a the young, influential puppy vs the old, rusty backyard dog.

Still Javier never saw Dutch as family, not in the sense that John and Arthur did, Dutch was never a father to him, Dutch was an employer, so he doesn't get to see Dutch making less and less sense.

That being said, while Javier trusts Dutch, he also trusts his friends, he respects Arthur and John, he knows they are smart, he knows that they believe in Dutch, so he knows that if they are acting out then there is a reason, the problem is he doesn't see the reason as justifiable. John and Arthur were born in USA, it is their country, they have the right to be there and they have the privilege of being white strong males in the land of dreams, Javier does not, he is strong, he is male, but he is not white, he is a man of color and he is hated for it, we see so many times people throw slurs at him. With the gang broken, Javier is back at where he was when he first to USA. He would struggle being able yo find another gang in the states that would accept him, he wouldn't be able to make a living on his own and he does not want to go back to Mexico because he knows it would put his family at risk, that was the whole reason he fled in the first place.

He believes in Dutch because he has no other choice, because he has nowhere to go with the gang broken up. After it happens we can read that in 1907 he is holed up in a mountain, he is staying away from the area his family is from because he doesn't want to put them in danger, he is not thriving or living his life.

Javier never saw John as a traitor, he never did, he is also the only person on "Dutch's side" to defend John when he is being accused of being the traitor, except when it is to Arthur, then he is okay kind of accusing John because he can't let it show that he is desperate.

He never stopped caring for John or Arthur though, he tells Arthur to worry about his cough, indirectly to take care of himself, and in 1911 Javier is stalling, he does not want to harm John, something very visible when he chooses to jump out the window even though he had every chance at shooting John and get it over with, ensure his own survival, not to mention, he knew about John's daughter, meaning he has been watching John.

"Oh but he shouted at John and called Abigail all sorts of things." This is a broken man we are talking about, a man who has lost everything, a man who has no legacy, a man who has no real life, a man who saw the one person he believed turn crazy, a man who has just realized he is about to die, a man who has most likely wished for death for a long time but doesn't know what to feel now it is coming, you would be desperate too, you would shout over the mountains because there are no consequences, because you will be dead anyways.

Hello There!! So, with the Murder Drones Series finale now out and released I wanted to discuss this as I've seen many express their disappointment and even hatred for the series finale and have sent hate towards Liam and Glitch and it's just unfortunate and I feel this needs to be said and talked about. Alright, so everyone's allowed to feel however they feel about the finale and you're allowed to feel unsatisfied and even disappointed, but to send hate towards the team and creator and call them talentless or sending them hate won't solve anything and shouldn't be justified in the slightest, y'all need to be reminded and see that the series finale wasn't intended on being any longer than any other episode or series finale for other shows out there made by studios that are financially funded by huge studios. And I know y'all say, "ohhh!! But it felt rushed and unearned and the finale was terrible and awful and should have been much longer and an hour." Yeah, because an INDIE animation studio has the money for that...plus, I don't think some of you know how animation works and how much time it can be, animation takes so much time and for a Indie animation it's NOT easy in the slightest and also cost so much money, it's extremely hard but isn't impossible. Making animation is extremely expensive and time consuming to make and that's very hard and difficult, funding for a show, a INDIE animated show is incredibly hard especially when it's animating for a full season and that's why these studios sell merch to help them make their stories, to make their dreams come true and help create the shows, the stories they wanna make, every dollar and penny goes into making these shows a reality.

But some don't seem to understand how difficult and how much time animation truly takes and even understatement it which is unfortunate, animation is a form of art, animation is cinema. Animation is not a genre for kids and can be enjoyed by everyone, It Is a medium. People need to realize and see that, again you're allowed to feel how you feel about the finale and I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion, but harassing and trash talking the creator and the team isn't it and won't solve anything, everyone at Glitch worked extremely hard on this finale, they've been working on this finale for over A YEAR, some of you fans are honestly very ungrateful and awful especially for how you treated the creator and Glitch to the point one of the VA's had to tell you STOP, and I know all fandoms are like this..but some of you MD fans are fucking terrible and make this whole fandom look bad, and although I'm grateful to be in this community as I've met some incredible people and will forever love the show, this fandom as a whole (especially Mdtwt) is honestly kinda a hellpit and we honestly didn't deserve this show, some of you really took this show for granted and just didn't seem to appreciate it, appreciated the love, dedication and hard work that went into it and not to mention some of y'all hated on almost anything that's not Md and harassed Glitch and even other fans, again I'm thankful for this show and feel satisfied with the ending however I'm disappointed for how bad this fandom has gotten..I'm saddened and feel some in the community really took this show for granted and didn't really appreciate it, but as a whole I feel this fandom NEEDS TO DO BETTER and improve going forward, and should STOP mistreating both each other and harassing the ones who made the show, just please do better. ❤️

ALRIGHT BESTIES BUCKLE UP FOR MY MUTANT MAYHEM COMMENTARY

i will kick this off by saying that Mutant Mayhem is quite honestly one of my favorite iterations of the turtles EVER, second only to the 2012 versions.

the theme of having a family and a place to belong was established from the VERY beginning of the movie, so yeah, heartbreaking start lmao

the way Leo gets teased is SO perfectly how siblings tease each other, the little mocking tones and gestures is literally how my siblings and i act with each other

no bc Splinter having a history of being rejected by those around him and the boys being all he has and the one time he tries to go into a new environment it goes terribly and that's what leads him to never wanting the boys to leave 😭

but of course it's also SUCH a valid explanation for how he behaves like ofc he's going to try to keep his sons safe!!

the montage of them finding the different bosses!!!! and each turtle getting his own moment!!!

There were also so many little background things that made me emotional, like the LGBTQIA+ flyers on the school poster board, the trans flag pinned next to the flyers, the little scribbles on the lockers and April's helmet, the details were just so so perfect. there honestly wasn't a single thing i didn't love about the movie!!!

So back when Sonic Movie 2 came out, I had a dream about Sonic Movie 3 and I wanna share it because I think it's funny.

So to start off, the dream was framed kinda weirdly. I was actually watching it in a theater, which was filled with a whole bunch of people who were being disrespectful and kept talking over the movie. Specifically, they talked over Shadow every time he talked, so I couldn't hear his VA, but I still got a general sense of what he was saying.

Anyway! The only specific characters that I remember seeing were Sonic, Tails, Shadow, and Agent Stone. I guess Knuckles was chilling with Tom and Maddie somewhere. XD

Stone was the main villain because Jim Carrey didn't come back to play Robotnik. I have no idea what happened at the beginning of the movie. But my dream picked up towards the climax. Shadow had teamed up with Sonic and Tails and were confronting Stone in some kind of abandoned building with at least three levels. Stone trapped them inside and then disappeared somehow. The building started filling up with 'water' and the three started trying to escape. The building kinda just filled up and everyone was about to drown when something broke. All of the 'water' drained out of the building, down the hill, and into the gutters of the nearby town.

From there, there was a jump. Sonic, Shadow, and Tails got locked in a grocery store with GUN, who were about to execute them, even though they just stopped Stone from doing something bad and probably saving the world. Ultimately, the people of the town convinced GUN that the three were heroes and to not kill them.

In celebration, everyone piled into a bus to go party somewhere. Shadow ended up sitting next to this girl who reminded him of Maria. She said something I couldn't hear and Shadow responded with, "Yeah, I know." (I'm going to assume she told him Maria would be proud.) So THEN! Shadow shed a single tear, which flew out the window and landed in the gutter, where it spontaneously caught fire! Yeah, Shadow had flammable tears in my dream, which I absolutely love!

Now, remember how all the water from that building drained into the gutters? Well, turns out it wasn't water at all. It was gasoline. So Shadow’s tear catching fire caused it to catch fire as well. The fire started running up the trail of gasoline up the hill to the building. Apparently there was some kind of bomb there that no one dealt with and if the fire was allowed to get back to the building, the whole thing was blowing up. Sonic and Tails noticed this and decided to hop out of the bus to save the day without telling Shadow.

The two arrived back at the building a few seconds before the fire and decided to go inside for some reason??? Then the fire reached them and because the building was drenched in gasoline, the whole thing immediately went up in flames. The entrance got blocked somehow, meaning Sonic and Tails had to get to the top floor to escape out a window or something.

Now if the whole dream wasn't weird enough, here's where all logic goes out the window. Suddenly, Sonic gained the ability to fly and Tails couldn't. Since the floor was very hot, Sonic grabbed Tails and began flying them up to the top of the building. Sonic was agonizingly slow though. They were running out of time and they weren't going to make it before they died from the impending explosion.

Then Shadow came out of nowhere! He managed to get Sonic and Tails out before the bomb went off, but not himself. The building exploded and Sonic and Tails were sad, thinking Shadow died. But he turned out to be just fine.

Aaaaand that's where my dream ended. Really, really weird, but I think it’s very funny.

Also, excuse me while I pluck up that 'Shadow has flammable tears' idea and put it in Immortals.

So, Canto 5. Spoilers.

Peak fiction, utterly incredible. My following thoughts will be jumbled but forgive me.

I've sadly not finished the source material, so I won't analyze it from that POV, but just to discuss the continued building of the world of the City, the Great Lake is so well conceived as a setting. The individual Lakes and their Waves, and the Whales that cause them, the variable coordinates and U Corp's monopoly on written data of Laws. You could make a whole damn RPG on the back of this stuff alone, I know TTRPG heads are looking at this and coming up with some homebrews.

I wonder if the Lakes are actually the result of the Whales changing the waters around them? Ishmael theorizes that the Whales parasitize humans out of loneliness, to make others like them (which of course reflects on Ahab as a Whale) and I wonder if the waters of the lake are similarly changed to reflect the Whale? And then I think about how Ahab turned the inside of the Pallid Whale into Pequod Town gah the subtext.

I'm also thinking more about the Sinners as a found family. While they've gotten on well enough since Verg put his foot down it's becoming clearer as time goes on that real bonds are forming. Ishmael was certainly straining those bonds but its a testament to them that they grew stronger after she found peace. I was pleasantly surprised she and Outis found a dynamic as fellow seawomen leading to mutual respect, not to mention what's going on between Heath and Ish (I have never shipped anything harder in my life). And then there's the individual relationships to Dante. Dante and Ish have gotten over the hump, and while she says that if they ever go in the wrong direction "she'll drop a skiff and depart" I feel like Ish is invested in Dante as a friend and will be there for them no matter what, including steering them back on the right course.

We saw it in S.E.A., but it's dawning on me that we get to experience characters post arc and that there are consequences to that. It didn't feel that way as strongly with Canto 1 - 3 because Gregor and Rodya are thoroughly still cooking on their issues and Sinclair feels like he's started his arc to becoming more confident and capable (the part where he actually threatens that guy is just chef's kiss). But we saw a Yi Sang who's actively trying to preserve his new friend group and find the bright side of things. Now we'll have a collected Ishmael who can keep it together and is firmly on Dante's side, which will be amazing come the Heartbreaking if the Heathmael dream is real.

Rapid fire thoughts in no particular order:

Ahab VA is perfect casting, her character is phenomenal, and I can't wait to see how she'll do on Hermann's team. PM is carrying the torch of insane old ladies.

I'm increasingly certain that the plot of Limbus will be ultimately about the multiverse (IN A GOOD WAY) and the goals of the villains and other groups deals with mirror worlds in some way.

I'm thinking about the other 3 Calamities of the Lake, Whales that attack without rhyme or reason. I have to imagine them as other great beasts of literature, so one surely is the Crocodile from Peter Pan. Possibly another is the Dogfish from Pinocchio (adapted as Monstro in the Disney version). Then I don't know, the Giant Squid from 20'000 Leagues Under the Sea (or maybe the "Narwhal" itself)? There's many possibilities.

I enjoy the Middle as a faction, they fit in with the deeply absurdist nature of the City and feel distinct from the other Fingers we know about. Makes me wonder what the actual fuck the Pinky's deal is if they're the worst Finger (iirc).

Love the feeling of Faust and Verg as outsiders Red Fraud Alert there's no way it doesn't come to a head at some point where Vergilius and the group are fundamentally at odds but the group is strong enough that threats won't cut it.

Compass is fire. Love that we're seeing different fan remixes combining the vocal and instrumentals in interesting ways, though I worry for the official version. Fly, Broken Wings doesn't work as well when it just goes through the whole thing without repeating the Broken Wings part, I much prefer an edit that matches the in game version more. I hope Mili sees what people are doing and gives us the heartbeat.

Praying to god we get a Stubb or Pip Outis ID with Pequod Captain Ishmael, but that will likely be end of season. I predict Ish ID to be a powerful SP support ID and will likely be as meta as Nclair (which is cool but also kinda unfortunate narratively, there are some downsides to the Gacha format).

Sentences like "Ishmael totally tops Heathcliff, that guy would turn into a puppy dog at the slightest hint of affection" are insane things I believe wholeheartedly and I love every time a literature person stumbles upon it and has to wrestle with this surprisingly valid crackship not knowing its origin.

All for now but I'm sure I'll think of something else later, can't wait for the Christmas Event (which will likely drop after Christmas but c'est la vie).

My feelings about Canon Nathaniel

Nathaniel Kurtzberg's canon self is not someone I support. I find his design and concept great, but the execution is horrible. While Nath is usually in the background, anytime he does appear has been either forgettable or unpleasant to watch.

He never apologizes to Marc or Marinette for his actions in Evillustrator or Reverser

He can be incredibly nasty when he feels wronged, as seen by ripping up Marc's notebook and never saying sorry for it. All he says is that he "might have jumped the gun". MIGHT?! Yeah that's an understatement!

He draws his classmate Marinette without her permission, in situations where she is in love with his self-insert. Even creepier when you consider that Marinette's dad is a self-insert for Thomas Astruc and Sabine is based off of a real life woman he had a crush on.

He spends all this time saying how much he wants to be a superhero but when Ladybug finally gives him an opportunity? He initially turns her down. WTF, Nathaniel, I thought this was your dream? Oh wait, it's because you don't like playing on a team. Sorry, Nathaniel, you can't be the center of the universe.

He doesn't show any interest in Marc's passions about soccer, and gets Marc to make an excuse for him. Nath, don't use your boyfriend like that!

In general, Canon Nath feels like a "nice guy", someone who mopes about being a lone wolf and acts like the whole world is out to get them, all while being a creep and jerk.

Side note, his English VA is a creep. Also the only time he's sorta tolerable is when him and Marc suddenly become Adrinette obsessed stans. Speaking of which, I do find Canon Marc's personality change from Season 2 to Season 4 to be kinda jarring, but overall he's much better than Canon Nath. Fanon Nath? He's cool, he's awesome. Canon Nath?, fuck that guy. Canon Marc deserves better.

Ferrari: Charles and Lewis

Red Bull: Max and Checo

Mclaren: Lando and Oscar

Aston Martin: Fernando and Lance. I would love for lance to go to Wec but I don’t think he will in 2025.

Mercedes: George and Sebastian. Do I think this will really happen no not really but a girl can dream. I think he could come back for one or two seasons until Kimi is ready for the Mercedes seat. He could follow in Michael’s footsteps and retire just to return for a Mercedes seat. 

Williams: Alex and Carlos. I don’t really want to wish that upon alex but Williams is the most likely team for Carlos I think sadly. I would actually be okay if he didn’t have a seat but I don’t think that is happening unless his cousin fucks up negotiations again. I hope it backfires in James face.

Alpine: Jack and Mick. Do I think this will happen no but I do wish it would because I want both of them to have a seat. This also could be a way for the Tp of alpine start over a whole new line up since Esteban and Pierre was otmars first.

Audi: Nico and Pierre. Nico is already confirmed and Pierre won the French civil war but still left the team.

VCARB: Yuki and Liam. Yuki already confirmed and I think Liam deserves a seat. They worked well together last year and Yuki proved he can be the teams leader.

Haas: Ollie and Esteban. Ollie is all but confirmed for the haas seat I feel like and I don’t want Esteban to leave the sport yet.

Logan to Indy car and I think that series will just be better for him as a whole.

Daniel I could see becoming just a development driver for Red Bull and competing in a different series for example Wec or maybe even Indy car.

Valtteri I know he has said that he is talking to team and negotiations are happening I just don’t think it will go the way he plans and he will retire.

Zhou I can see going to a different series because he is not a bad driver at all and has been stuck in one of the worst teams since he entered the sport and he has huge marketing ability.

Kevin I can also see going to Indy car or just retiring completely to be with his family.

about sunday: as the face of pena/cony, sunday has a lot on his shoulders. i try to help where i can, but i worry if he might crack under all that pressure.

about robin: she once sent me a souvenir from one of her past tours. i've kept it all this time- and hope she might be able to tell me about where it's from.

about boot/hill: i've heard about galaxy rangers, boot/hill definitely fits a lot of what i expected. but he's actually a lot of fun to be around.

about black/swan: i've a great deal of respect for the memo/keepers. the memory zone is not a place you want to find yourself in- that she can roam it's ever changing halls with as much confidence as she does. it's worth admiring.

Film RED is a masterpiece

One Piece RED delivered canon-levels of emotional

damage

 impact. The whole movie was a masterclass in animation and emotional weight.

HEAVY SPOILERS BELOW FOR FILM RED AND WANO !! 

1. The scene where Uta ripped Luffy’s strawhat. I KNEW that was a dream. I KNEW the movie wasn’t canon. AND YET !! AND YET..... Luffy’s screams.... His VA’s phenomenal voice acting.... the hat tearing apart... His inability to do anything about it.... That killed me.....

2. Luffy standing there arms crossed, observing the battlefield while his team was attacking Tot Musica and wind blowing throught his hair and gigantic hat. In my mind, I already knelt and called him my king.

3. Uta fighting to stay awake and free everyone, then keeping Luffy last to have a final conversation with him... apologizing for the hat and repairing it... them having that final conversation... the atmosphere... so calm... and so heavy... so warm.. and so sad... they both knew Uta wouldn’t make it alive.. Luffy knew... she knew... and Luffy was heartbroken again... please One Piece writers... stop making my baby suffer...

4. The Redhair pirates are everything we wished for and MORE ! A crew where everyone is a Haki user. FUCKING YASSOP ACTUALLY HAVING AN EXCHANGE WITH HIS SON !!! SHANKS BLASTING HAKI AT FUJITORA AND STOPPING KAIZARU !!!! And his final goobyes with his daughter... Then the funeral, and Luffy looking from a distance in solmen silence as Shank’s boat leaves with Uta’s coffin...

Honestly so precious. One of my main reasons for finishing the anime is just him interacting with Frieren but also generally. Nothing could've prepared me for this aspect of the show

Outside of the fact that she's cute as hell I just love watching the glimmers of growth and how much she half subconsciously treasures her time with the og hero squad.. also, she is crushing on a person for ages and hunting after him while he's already gone

The way they saw kids that needed them and were like „yep, mine“. They aren't perfect but man, so precious

As an Ariel and Kim Possible girl at heart this is illegal. Again, she wasn't perfect but she's my girl and her lil flower spell is gonna be the end of me. Her favorite little thing is just so entwined in these relationships and it's heartbreaking yet heartwarming at the same time that she's so far removed from being aware of it.
