Gobbled up the Dandadan anime and manga recently and absolutely adored it all. Not only does it feature the most likable and strongly written female characters I’ve ever seen in a shonen, it discusses extremely pertinent themes about consent and bodily autonomy from a lens of female solidarity while also elevating healthy relationships with kind communicative male characters who respect boundaries. It’s wacky, fun, gorgeous, and super refreshing.

I realized I never actually watched the final installment of the Concept Corner series, so that’s what I had playing when sketching these. It’s just so fun listening to the brainstorming and cool character connections

Hello! Recent follower but long time fan of your work. I adore how introspective you are with writing characters and how you tend to write the darling/reader, its a very refreshing take on yandere content.

On that note, I was curious if you had any insight or thoughts on how yandere!Aventurine would handle a Darling that rejects his advances, not from a place of distrust but a place of insecurities? Like I imagine it would be entirely possible for someone who is quite capable or self-assured to become overwhelmed by the glamor and brilliance that Aventurine maintains for his carefully crafted facade, esp if its directed at them with romantic intent.

What could you have to offer someone like Aventurine, a man who seemingly has everything he could ever desire? In perspective, it would be extremely humbling and perhaps make Darling feel self-conscious upon consideration, leading them to politely turn down Aventurine's advances and affections in the sake of self-preservation.

Aventurine is incredibly adept at reading people, which makes this situation quite frustrating for him. You’ve always come across as someone secure in your identity—it’s clear in the way you carry yourself, in the way your brilliance takes up the entire room, an outward reflection of the completeness of your character. And he latched onto that immediately, holding the gem that is your personality up and carefully studying each refraction of light, committing the patterns to memory. He’d played his cards just right with you, and had no problem luring you in and getting you right where he wanted you.

So, then, why are you rejecting him? 

Things had been going so well between you two, up until he began flirting with you more openly and gifting you things he knew you wanted, but were out of your budget. He made sure not to lovebomb, of course—it would scare off someone like you, and he couldn’t have that—and he knew that you hadn’t yet discovered his… rather underhanded methods of learning everything about you. 

He knows you, everything has gone perfectly for him, and yet here you are, turning him away.

You’re being painfully sweet about it, too, in the way that you always are, reassuring him in a soft voice that it’s nothing he did, you just don’t think you’re ready for a relationship. You say this, but he can see it in your eyes, see that you want him, too, but for some reason, you’re hesitating. You’re scared.

From your perspective, it’s quite simple, really: Aventurine can do better, and he deserves better, too. He’s an extremely high-ranking member of the IPC, with an unfathomable amount of wealth to his name—what could you possibly offer him? 

You’ve heard countless stories of high-ranking IPC officials using marriage as yet another tool at their disposal, so his advances toward you leave you confused and bewildered. You’re a mere civilian who lives in the capital city of one of the planets he’s been assigned to watch over. You don’t come from wealth or political power, so what does he want from you? 

Not to mention all the risk that would come from being romantically involved with him—what if one of the IPC’s enemies came after you as a means to get him? You do like your head where it is, attached to your neck, and your own safety aside, you don’t like the idea of being seen as Aventurine’s weakness, something that would hold him back.

It takes an incredible amount of willpower for him to not spiral. No, he’s worked too hard for this, and he can’t risk messing things up by abducting you. It would ruin the feelings you so clearly reciprocate, yet refuse to act on, for some reason.

It’s not difficult to pay someone to pull your messaging history and get it cloned to his own device. After digging through conversations with some of your friends, your insecurities are made clear to him, and with them, your reason for rejecting him.

Oh, how he wishes he could coo at you and pull you into a reassuring hug. You’re worried about the fact that you don’t add value to his position in any way? How silly, that’s exactly why he wants you. You’re real, and once you overcome this trivial worry, you’ll be entirely his—not the pawn of some government body, not the IPC’s, but his alone.

No matter—it’s a minor setback. He’ll just have to work harder at showing you just how much he loves you, and that there aren’t any strings attached. His devotion will get through to you one way or another, whether it’s from honey words dripping off his tongue, or from loving every inch of your body with his mouth until you can’t take it anymore.

thinking about a very recently-out (as in that very day), 45 year old tommy whose marriage of 17 years just imploded, drinking his sorrows away at a local la bar on the same night as young college-senior evan buckley celebrates his 21st birthday with his friends.

buck walks up to the bar to order another round of shots for his table when he sees a wrecked and disheveled (but somehow still angelic) tommy sitting there with his glistening greys and the most beautiful nose buck has ever seen. he’s finishing his third glass of draft beer, about to order a fourth, when buck interrupts with, “let me.” tommy caught off-guard, gives him a quick scan up and down, and asks (tired and stand-offish), “are you even old enough, kid?”. buck (cheeky and excited) responds, “actually it’s my birthday. i-i turned 21 today. about an hour and 13 minutes ago if uh-if we’re being technical.”

tommy takes the last sip of his beer and replies (dry but friendlier now) “well. then shouldn’t i be the one to buy you the drink?” to which buck negotiates (eyelashes fluttering, smile beaming): “o-okay. how about you buy me a drink and i-i listen to you talk about whatever it is that’s bothering you?” tommy tells buck that won’t be necessary because he’s fine. but, buck looks at him with his adorable and disbelieving baby blues and says, “first. you’re not a very good liar. and second. it’s my birthday, remember. you’re not gonna say no to me on my 21st birthday, are you?” and well. tommy doesn’t.

I feel like... there's smth about it. it's not all that good, bc the pose is a bit awkward, perspective is a nice attempt but a little off and I drew quickly without thinking, later couldn't fix it/was too lazy/had no time, but the colors, the shading... idk, I'm oddly a fan of it so I'm throwing it here.

something I love about hilson is that (at least within the show), nobody ever tried that “they have a brotherly bond” BS. because pretty much every queercoded pairing from that era has said something along the lines of “you’re like a brother to me”. but not them!! they were always like “yeah I’m violently attracted to you and think we should fuck…./srs.” yes they were repressed but at least they were REAL about it

hello!!! i was able to get all my bills paid for this month without overdrafting my bank account, which is amazing 🥹 but my rent is coming up and due on the first, i only have $5 in my bank account but i need $750 to pay rent 😭😭😭 im working my ass off on comms in the coming weeks, if anyone is interested in getting one in the meantime im extremely open! $80 for a single character and $120 for two characters!

and if you cant afford that and just want to throw a few bucks at me that's much appreciated too!!! anything helps at all, anything will help me not be severely overdrafted before my next (very small) paycheck hits on the first of january!

full on feel like pjo tv s2 is not gonna hold up so they need to drag as much attention to the series as they can by using nico as a sock puppet w tsats2

im fully expecting the show to go the way of the movies. it doesnt help Sea of Monsters is almost unanimously the least favorite book of the first series. People frequently forget it even exists or what happens in it, especially more casual fans.

Heck, just look at how little fanfare the second season has gotten so far as compared to the build up to s1. I wouldn't be surprised if s2 totally flops. It would be a little funny.

Unfriendly, very pointed reminder that people are allowed to mourn the total lack of Agathario backstory in the final episodes.

The people upset about it aren’t idiots- I’m very aware the work that must’ve gone into convincing Marvel to let Agatha have a canon, explicit, visible female love interest.

Seeing this woman-led, blatantly queer show exist where the main characters are queer and that’s simply accepted without conversation? It’s made me cry- genuinely- because it something that didn’t need to happen for the story to make sense, but still did.

Agatha being a canon LESBIAN is giant for us too- it’s always easier to convince networks to give us sapphic characters if it’s reasonable they’ll end up with men. There was never a chance in hell Agatha would- now for two reasons.

This is an undeniably huge win, and I adore this show for that (along with many, many other reasons).

But I’m also disappointed that we never got to see the positive half of the history that was clearly so integral to how Agatha and Rio interacted with each other. They had something much less complex once and I’m frustrated they basically told us this and then gave nothing.

People are allowed to criticize a show they love, whether it’s “valid” or not- and they’re allowed to feel disappointment while also acknowledging that all of this was an incredibly huge step.

So I woke up this morning and for some reason, I had some of my old fankids in mind, specifically the darklico ones, so I was like “screw it, I’ll draw some fankids as humans”

This is a screenshot and unfinished however because I realized, of the human designs I’ve done, not many of them do I have ships for, or at least that I’ve completed

Like of this group I do have some, like Dark Cacao/Hollyberry, Sea Fairy/Moonlight, and I think Sea Fairy/Fire Spirit, but when I was looking at the first two for the references here, I realized that I didn’t have many outside of ships within the Cookies of Darkness. Which even then, I only have two pairings completed

So basically, I have to put the rest of the page on hold now. But I still wanted to show off what I did draw, so here’s a screenshot of the current lineup

There is a third darklico kid, Gancao, but I’m also aware she’s in need of a design overhaul, so I didn’t include her here. Also Licorice Cream here is older than how I drew her initially, because I later decided she was the oldest due to her being an accidental homunculus rather than a product of the two getting together. So she also needs a redesign, but I at least have some reference to how she’s supposed to look now

In all honesty, I do think Licorice Cream looks the worst here. She’s not terrible, but I think her eyes are slightly too small and her face just isn’t quite right. Also for some reason when I look at her, I think of Iris from Pokémon

But I mean, I can probably chock up her off design to the fact that I drew her at like 3-4 in the morning. I woke up randomly super early and it seems like I went to sleep at random as well last night. I refused to go back to sleep this morning so I stayed up, but I don’t think my brain was operating at full capacity yet

Black Choco I think looks plenty better, though maybe not much like his counterpart. But also I can’t give him his hair streaks or purple fade, since my rule with these is that they can only have dye or contacts if it fits the character, and he’s a small child so I don’t think he can. I at least tried to compromise with the brown fade

Also I’m not sure I have his expression right. It was an issue while drawing, because I recall that he’s not supposed to be sad or anything, just jumpy and nervous, and he’s supposed to be looking around. But this was the best I could do, so oh well

Zuccotto on the other hand I think turned out great. I had it in my head that he generally looked like Affogato, which I think I achieved (to me they definitely look related), but he acts more like Red Velvet. I don’t entirely remember if that’s his character, I haven’t looked at his post in probably a good year, I just remember he’s Licorice Cream’s bestie and the straight man to her antics

But yeah, I think he looks pretty good. Admittedly though I don’t know why he, in-universe, has the super light hair when I made both of his parents naturally brown haired. I mean maybe it’s dye, but I don’t know how feasible that is with a lighter fade at the end as well as dark streaks. But oh well, it’s what worked best with how I designed him

And yeah, that’s about it. Hmm, maybe I need to go and make more human designs. And/or more fankids

would you recommend infinity nikki as a game? i heard it's got like, loads of micro transactions and stuff since it's a gacha/lootbox game

Well the base game is entirely free with no paywalls anywhere and you don't actually have to buy anything. Like if you want certain outfits you really like sure, but you get enough crystals while exploring and doing the special events you don't need to unless you're one of those 100% perfectionist types and even then if you're crafty you prob don't need to do it. I don't mind buying stuff now and again but that's 'cause I got disposable income lol. It just means you'll need to do more grinding for items or crystals but it's actually fairly easy enough to do. I actually found the fact you have to play it constantly online as more annoying than the store.

The base game has more than enough content for you to ignore the store entirely. The game is also good if you like open world exploration and dress-up games, which I both like so I've been playing it a lot lol but yea, store is not essential. I just like this game a lot cause it's cute and pretty and open world like Portia and whatnot
