THEN i shall post' or etc. etc. lol. NOT even taking into account the many days #I just genuinely and physically sick and it's not even a mental thing. I just physically dont feel like sitting at the computer lol..#ANYWAY.. trying to get back into it. trying to get a business bank account.. make a proper paypal so i can start selling sculptures again.#selling clothes and sculptures.. posting about such things then of course as one must. etc... chanting to hype up and motivate myself lol #But yes. this is my favorite outfit out of the bunch so I am posting it first I guess.. maybe others later..#Also the purple dress says its from shein. which I've heard is bad fast fashion stuff. but maybe okay since its second hand? I havent #been to the bins since like 2020 or late 2019 even. and I think stuff like shein and temu has only become poular in the past few years #but I bet if I went to the bins now I might would find a good handfull of that stuff. i would like to say my ideal PJO adaptation (if i was being physically forced against my will to have to pick a live action adaptation over an animated one for some reason) would be a combo like writing of the musical + casting of the show + visuals of the movies

BUT the show actually does have the playwright for the musical as one of the major writers for like three episodes and that did nothing for it. so...

#pjo #riordanverse #pjo tv crit #i do love the casting for the musical lots and lots though #it was really good #i do also have some nitpicks for show casting but they're largely inconsequential #like majority i very much enjoy and think are cast well #i only have one i'd say im actually disappointed with and that's Poseidon. idk he just feels. bland??? does that make sense?#like idk maybe it's the costuming but im not getting Sea God *or* Fishing Dad from him #like i think i kinda see what they were going for and i saw some gifs of him in another show where he plays a pirate and its like #okay. *little* bit better. but idk im just not getting Poseidon from it #in general most of the immortals in the show dont feel very Immortal(tm) but thats definitely mostly just the writing/show itself #not any reflection of the casting #my only other two are i would have liked plus sized Clarisse. i am VERY sad we didnt get that #Dior is a VERY good Clarisse though so i'm not too upset about it. i like her Clarisse energy. the yelling is fantastic.#my most controversial pjo tv take is im still meh on Walker. like he's fine. but like he's kind of Just Fine to me so far #its probably mostly the writing being bad but he hasnt grown on me as Percy yet. i can tell he has the energy though in interviews n stuff #and the main trio dynamic in interviews and stuff is *very* good. i just wish the show writing was better #because the casting IS very good but they have so little to work with. you can really tell theyre trying their best #i like to joke the show would be better if they just set the cast loose in the woods doing in-character improv #like its clear basically all of them know their characters SUPER well. id watch 8 episodes of in the woods pjo cosplay improv.

the idea that Orym has a death wish has led to some of the most laughable meta I've seen. Orym tells his closest friend - who has a penchant for delightfully wild impulses, is possibly important to the enemy's plot, and is about to see her biological father, about whom she has all kinds of complicated feelings - to not take unnecessary risks and people are handing out pamphlets on "a Treatise on Orym's Belief in Doom; Being an Account of His Deep-seated Hypocritical Actions Regarding The Pact With Morrigan, Hag and Fatestitcher" and it's like. idk man maybe they're going to be separated in a very clearly dangerous scenario and she specifically is in an emotionally charged and tricky one and he is saying "be careful", a normal thing friends might say to each other.

Like presumptuous feeling or something #''oooo guess whats gonna happen LATER!!!'' like.. how do you know.. what if it doesnt. what if you dont finish it. what if its not the way #you think it's going to be. what if something changes. etc. Like I literally avoid movie trailers and game trailers for the same reason ghj #Even if it's not ME doing it it just feels... weird.. Maybe it has to do with my OCD and how I just don't like talking about ''future''#things in Certain Terms. Like if I was going to say ''Oh yeah sure. come over to my house in a few months''. I would have to follow it up #with like ''HOPEFULLY you can come over to my house in a few months'' or 'They'll come over in a few months MOST LIKELY''. my favourite side episode that ive been planning for 5ever is the team gets invited to a fancy ball and aja gets a handmade gown for it and feels really Normal about all this

#theres more to it but thats the relevant part #basically this is a s2 episode so after shes died and come back and hutch is really insistent that aja has to put effort into making friends #outside of them. because they know she doesnt really have anyone else. and they really only made it through losing her because they had #people in their corner to help and be supportive. and she doesnt because she doesnt. like people or want anyone else #so they get these invites to this gala and hutch is like nah i dont wanna go. find someone to give my ticket to and have a good time #basically forcing her to go without her safety blanket yk #and she doesnt know who to ask and the whole episode is over the prep week for this while shes getting measured for the dress and #its getting made and fitted and whatever. and the costume girl whos been a side character the whole time but aj has never really paid much #attention to is SO excited to make this fancy dress and will hold aj in there for hours just to make sure its perfect #and at some point after a convo with hutch aj realizes she doesnt. listen when other people speak to her. and actually sits down to listen #to what seffie has to say and actually talk to her. and she talks about growing up watching princesses and celebrities on tv and being poor #and wanting more than anything to look like a princess on a red carpet like that and then does some like haha well at least i get to do my #job! and youll look beautiful! and aj is like. well actually. i have a ticket.#and thats the episode its mostly just about aja learning that other people DO understand her and she CAN relate to them #things she has convinced herself are impossible #and then it has the bonus of these two girls who never get to feel beautiful get to play dressup and go to a fancy party and enjoy each #others company. its kind of a filler episode but i love it #🌟

People complaining about practical effects that look unrealistic in shows and movies are on such a different wavelength to me we might as well be different species. It's neither a show or a movie, but I was watching Vita Carnis the other week, and there were so many comments on the "mimic defense instructional tape" about how they shouldn't have shown the mimic costume for too long because it looked wonky and flawed so it wasn't very scary, and I genuinely felt like I watched a different video from everyone else. Did it look wonky and unrealistic? Yes, but I fail to see how that took away from the video. If anything it made me like it even more

#it made it a bit creepier imo especially when you consider that mimics are just that. mimics. something trying and failing to look human is #a gret concept in horror and the costume looking wonky helped me believe it more tbh #i just don't understand how practical effects looking unrealistic take away from the experience for other people. like i watched the bela #lugosi dracula and all the practical effects made it so much better for me. or for example since y'all know i have saw brainrot. saw is a #franchise that has always heavily relied on practical effects and it's part of what elevates it for me. in fact whenever they do cgi they #tend to look much worse. this isn't me saying you should never use cgi btw i think it can definitely be good and work well like in jurassic #park or something. but i don't understand this need people have to only use practical effects if they look realistic i just don't #cat rambles
