Clean Fusion Power from a New Type of Reactor: The Helion

This is the technology behind the recent headlines. The Helion achieves fusion reactions in a fundamentally new way. The fuel mix is not the same as earlier fuels (Helion fuels are relatively inexpensive), and the containment looks more like a piston than a doughnut (because it works as a piston). Most impressive is the way that the Helion generates electricity.

In a Helion no steam and no turbines are used to generate electricity. Instead the fusion reaction is used to directly move a magnetic field across the coils of a dynamo. This approach yields tremendous gains in efficiency, and moves our electrical generation technology past the steam age and onward to new horizons.
