bacsially, Touya becomes a pro hero and manages to break top 20 in his first year, he’s doing amazing in every aspect, but then he almost dies in a bygning building after saving the civilians, and has to stop being a hero after barley a year, and has a huge crisis of self, plus he has to deal with the injuries.

While Keigo gets hit with some sort of quirk eraser bullet right before his debut, and while his wings are still there, the feathers etc doesn’t work, so the Commission just throws him out on the streets to fend for himself.

And then they meet and try to figure their shit our ~ together ~ 🌝

It's been almost 5 months since the incident. Sanzu has fit semi-well in the Haitani household. His relationship with (Name) had improved greatly. But the brothers weren't too happy with the Alpha at the moment.

Sanzu sat on his knees in the living room. Being lectured by Rindou, because the pinkette tried having some "special" time with (Name). Which might be added was warned not to happen by the doctor, due to a chance or harming the pups.

"Seriously Sanzu! You were making direct eye contact with him, when he told you no sex because of the pups! What's wrong with you?!" Sanzu huffed. "It's not my fault! His scent is getting sweeter. And since I haven't been able to mark him, it's getting tougher to hold my inner Alpha in." Rindou sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

He was partly right, Bonten had been so busy he hasn't be able to actually mark (Name). There's been more traitors being exposed, and more companies have been trying to double cross them. So (Name) has been mostly by himself, with guards of course! Can't leave him unprotected.

Which is bad considering, (Name) is getting closer to his due date. Which had everyone on their toes. (Name) was currently in his nest, enjoying his cheesecake with honey. Waiting for his Alpha to come back. He wanted cuddles.

A knock on the bedroom door, startling from his food land. "Who is it?" "It's your favorite brother~" "I thought Rin was talking to Chiyo in the living room?" Ran threw open the door making a dieing animal noise. (Name) laughed loudly. "I'm kidding Aniki. You both know I don't have a favorite brother."

Ran scoffed and grumbled. "Well your last check up is tomorrow. We're gonna have it at HQ so everyone can be there. If that's okay with you?" (Name) nodded excitedly. He missed the others company. He wasn't allowed to leave the penthouse, according to his brothers and his Alpha.

He knows they want him safe, but he missed the sun and fresh air. Even his balcony privileges had been taken away! (Name) laid down his empty plate, and slowly leaned up. Holding his stomach carefully.

Ran quickly helped him sit up. "Bathroom break?" (Name) nodded quickly and Ran laughed. Ran help him up and took the dirty dishes. "Now remember the doctor said, to be careful with the cheesecakes." (Name) pouted and nodded.

He didn't get to eat them as much as when he was first pregnant. Due to the sugar level of the cheesecakes. But his cravings have weirded everyone out. Especially when he ate vanilla wafers with mustard. (Note: I love that combination lol)

When they arrived to the appointment, (Name) was clinging to his Alpha. He'd been extra clingy this morning. They figured it was because he was due anytime now. While Sanzu was just enjoying the attention.

The brothers following them, grumbled in annoyance. Their baby brother barely gave them attention anymore. They missed (Name) coming to them for attention. But now, he had Sanzu and soon, he'd have his own pups.

Upon entering the doctor office, (Name) noticed that the upper members, were already inside. (Name) greeted them with a bright smile, rubbing his very round stomach. He paused momentarily, before smiling widely.

"Chiyo! The pups are kicking!" Sanzu immediately placed his hands on (Name)'s stomach. He smiled feeling the hard kicks against his hands. "Their gonna be strong pups my love." Everyone smiled at the loving moment.

But that died quickly when (Name) violently cringed, gripping his stomach tightly. Sanzu immediately cupped (Name)'s face. "(Name)? Love what's wrong?" (Name)'s face scrunched up. The brothers quickly pulled him away and handed him a trash can.

(Name)'s body shook while he was sick. This worried everyone tremendously. (Name) yelled loudly and stared at his feet. Water surrounding them. Everyone froze. Mikey was the first to react. Quickly yelling for someone to get th doctor.

Sanzu quickly helped (Name) onto the hospital bed, that was in the room. His scent revealed how truly worried he was at the moment. It felt like forever until the doctor finally arrived. The doctor quickly made his way over. "I wasn't expecting him to go into labor. I don't know if he'll make it to the hospital."

The brothers immediately starting arguing saying that he should've been prepared. But (Name) silenced them, when he started yelling in pain. Making everyone flinch. The scent of distressed Omega filled the air. Making the Alpha's panic.

(Name) had fainted from the pain. He couldn't remember much of what happened. He remembers holding his Alpha's hand so tight, he thought it'd break. He remembers seeing his older brothers paicking faces.

Then there was darkness, then there was a bright light.

This is mostly repeating something I said on twitter in a more proper way because bless tumblr's practically lack of a word limit lmao.

I don't think I've ever loved a show as much as I love murder drones before, like I enjoy a lot of shows like the owl house, friends, etc, and they're all wonderful of course but they're not something I'd want to rewatch entirely constantly only specific episodes while murder drones for me is that special thing where It's so rewatchable I want to watch it all the episodes and repeat the dialogue with it and love it forever lol. I do this with Disney movies especially Nightmare Before Christmas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame and I'm able to recite some english voiced Nagito lines as well.

Murder Drones is so special, it has so much to love it is unbelievable. The animation, characters, music, lore, humor, visuals, voice acting, just everything is so unbelievably great about it and I can't wait to see how they end the show. Endings mean a lot to the overall experience and I truly hope they stick the landing, I don't have any doubts in my mind that they will but there is still the unexpected anxiety of never knowing until it happens.

I don't think there will be a season 2 based on how Glitch words things in the new promotional video's description which is really sad but if it's anything like gravity falls' writing where everything is planned in advance then I'm sure one season will be enough for this wonderful show if that's what it's aiming for.

N is going to be so traumatized in the next episode thinking Uzi is dead and V being dead he's had everything striped away from him and not to mention the toxic relationship with Cyn she's taken everything from him, his memories, his loved ones, his life, everything. But it's not even entirely Cyn's fault either it's the absolute solver and that's such a cool concept. The scenes of Uzi being possessed and the even MORE trauma N is going through and seeing is so much. I'm glad they had a moment where N snapped and had a moment where his self esteem and how he views himself was evident people are starting to realize more how amazing of a character he really is.

I love this show so dearly tomorrow I plan to watch it with friends lol. It's late (4:50am sheesh insomnia) I'm gonna sleep now bye bye!! tip of the day go watch murder drones

Been rewatching some of the Mighty Nein campaign cause I was missing them and also I'm excited for their one shot soon! I've seen a few people speculating about the one shot so thought I'd put my thoughts out into the void as well.

I honestly don't know at all what to expect from this one shot. I don't even remember what the description was beyond that it has to do with the apogee solstice stuff. I haven't kept up much with campaign 3 for my own reasons that I don't need to get into now. However, I did actually watch a couple of the episodes during the solstice and got lucky with watching the ep with beau and caleb in it. But otherwise, I barely know what's going on. I have no idea what the M9 will be dealing with. My theories include anything from getting Beau and Caleb back and dealing with cultists along the way to dealing with the Cerberus Assembly's/Ludinus' attachments to this whole thing to stopping Tharizdun or some other entity from doing some fuck shit. Honestly, I don't fucking know man. I don't even really think any of that shit will happen.

I don't know if it's been confirmed that Caduceus is gonna be the one in this one shot but I really hope it is him. One of the things that's been bothering me about this arc from the BH perspective (at least that I've seen) is that none of them or any that they've come across has been able to argue for the side of the gods and the good that some of them can do. As someone who really likes the worldbuilding and rp that gods can bring to settings like this, not having that perspective represented has been disappointing for me. (This is not the fault of the cast or their guests or anything like that, that is not what I'm saying. It is their choice what characters they play and it is Matt's choice as the DM which NPCs/areas they come across in wherever they decide to explore. I'm just mentioning my own preference and feelings as it pertains to the one shot which is what I'm talking about). Anyway, I hope it's Caduceus because I think he will bring an incredibly interesting perspective on this whole thing. And I think Fjord will too but not to the extent that Cad can since Cad and his family grew up as worshippers of Melora.

We don't know the fate of Beau and Caleb and while I don't think they're dead, I really hope they aren't gone for most of this one shot. Beau is my favorite character in any media ever. I fucking love Beau so much. And Beauyasha is my favorite couple, I love them. I will be literally so sad if Marisha isn't playing Beau for this one shot. Like I'll understand but also I will indeed be devastated. Beauyasha is like my Roman Empire (this joke will be aging this post LMAO but its a good comparison honestly), I think about them A LOT. I want to see more content from them. I was at SDCC, I was there when Ashley said she felt like she wasn't fully finished with Yasha and that's exactly how I feel. The Mighty Nein's story was so good but the way it ended felt so long and then so abrupt (but that's another post). I will always be wanting more of Beau and Yasha's story. I want to know as much as Marisha and Ashley are willing to give us. So I hope the one shot starts with Beau and Caleb and how they reunite with the Nein and then get to business. Or even better, with them already reunited for maximum Nein time.

Those are my main two thoughts for now. I actually need to go to bed cause I got work in the morning and it's been kicking my ass these last two weeks so imma cut it there and check back tomorrow. If you somehow see this, I hope you enjoyed my ramblings lol

So, I don't know if anyone else has touched on this really, but with all the biblical references these past couple of episodes as well as Angela Bassett specifically using 'biblical' when asked about the finale in an interview, is anyone else getting Last Supper vibes from this scene's promo images (and maybe even a little bit the medal ceremony)?

There's something about a lot of these promo images that... comes off a little ominous almost? I'm not sure if it's just because WE know there's more lurking around the corner, so maybe it's just the calm before the storm, but going back to the 118 meals does feel like a pretty deliberate thing to dedicate screentime to.

Regarding the Last Supper specifically, we've already seen Bobby-Jesus comparisons in 7-8; most on the nose when he was dragging Amir on the tarp - to me it felt VERY reminiscent of Jesus carrying the cross (idk could be off the mark here, but to me that was the vibe).

The other thing with this comparison is, if we have Jesus/the Last Supper, who is our Judas?

My initial thoughts are it has to be someone we're familiar with, so either Eddie, Buck or Tommy would be my vote for the 'betrayer' in this scenario. I mean, if something happens to the 118/with Captain Gerrard, there needs to be a catalyst for it, right?

For Eddie, I could see it be the kind of thing he stumbles into by accident - his carelessness with his personal life could spill over into just revealing something he's not supposed to to the wrong person which puts the 118 in jeopardy. For me this is less based in things we've seen on screen, and more Ryan's comments about Eddie feeling isolated going into next season. What would be more isolating than oops I betrayed all my friends and coworkers!

(Of course, this is precluded by Eddie not suffering from a mental breakdown because I still think that's the most likely resolution to his story at this point but with how season 7 has gone you really never know!!)

For Buck, I feel like it would be the kind of thing where someone is forcing him to betray Bobby/the 118. I don't think he could ever be capable of doing it intentionally, but if someone made him feel like it was the only option to keep them safe? Much like when Bobby decided to prolong Buck's leave from active duty, it would be something he did trying to protect his family and not realizing the long-reaching consequences it would have.

Tommy probably feels like a bit of a wildcard pick, but... in a way it also makes sense? Looking back at early season 7, Tommy never seemed to face any major consequences for stealing a helicopter. I get this is a tv show, but like... that's the kind of thing you would expect him to get a reprimand or charge for, not a commendation/award! Just hypothesizing here, but what if:

Someone approached Tommy offering him... I don't know, an escape from reprimand if he could place blame upon the 118. Basically, a situation where he would need to get close to his old house to provide proof that he wasn't the most at fault for the whole... helicopter theft.

Of course I could be totally wrong with this, or even the person (I mean, Hen could even be an option for a Judas figure - she's got enough to lose!), but returning to the framing of the team meals, right before we know things are going to go VERY to shit? I don't know, feels pretty biblical to me!

Mostly this is just VERY speculative musings so I'm very happy to be proven wrong tomorrow lol.

I think in general, I'm SO scared for these last two episodes and even a finale cliffhanger. There's so much still to address and I really can't settle on a single theory even for how things are going to turn out!

The last few days I had to stop writing and like...quickly redo my schedule for December and cut it back a little, which always makes me sad, but I'm trying to conserve my mental health as well as my physical. I realised I met all the criteria for a pretty serious depressive episode late last week (I have, alongside severe PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, which is the one that will kill me if I don't keep an eye on it -> though I'm happy to report I'm not like in a very like 'I don't want to live' space right now, I can just tell I'm feeling / experiencing a lot of the red flags that go in that direction), and if I don't act now, that tends to lead to pretty bad places.

So I've redone the schedule for December and that will come out likely on Friday or Saturday. And then I'll only be posting during January for half of the month, and not the whole month, and taking off two weeks re: posting. Hopefully these are the sorts of things which will head off me needing to go into hiatus because I desperately don't want to do that <3

I can already tell I'm doing a little better after being a lot firmer with some boundaries, and also just...with myself re: taking more time off. I wish I didn't feel so guilty about it? But that's not anyone's fault here, that's shit to work on with my therapist/s, lol.

Today I spent around 3 hours researching a response to an ask (whoops), and then realised - not through any one person's actions but a bunch at once - that I need to kind of stop engaging with facecast stuff (nothing wrong with facecasting, the problem is wholly on me there and I wish I'd seen that sooner and saved people some pain and saved me from some rudeness).

I put away the shopping (we have a really good grocery delivery system here which is great for my disabilities etc.), and had some raspberries, and put on the Christmas tree lights.

I was so tired at lunch that I could only manage a bowl of cereal (and couldn't eat breakfast. I think my therapist would be like 'why are you putting three hours of research into responding to something instead of focusing on eating food' but well, whoops? Lol. To be fair I thought it would be way easier to answer, but Tumblr's search function is SO broken).

I fed my wonderful cat, Maybe, and got some sleep in the afternoon and then did some writing (1,200 words) on Palmarosa. It's like 7.00pm right now, and I'm going to put up some chapter commentaries on Patreon and Ream.

Tonight I might do some watercolour art, and I'm hoping to finish Palmarosa tomorrow.

December is actually a hard time of year for me anyway. It's the month that has the most chronological / time-based triggers, and my therapists know this and I'm hearing a lot of 'how are you in the lead up to December' which is about to become 'how are you coping with December.'

The Newsreader S2 Ep 2 (Spoiler)

Finally, after an underwhelming first episode (it's not bad, but I feel like it's there to set the scene), The Newsreader is back to being insane. I have to say this episode is on par with IWTV Ep 5; the writing is tight and insane af, all of the characters are going for each other's throat, the score the cinematography are top notch muah. Love LOVE a good television.

So, some thoughts under the cut.

Rob/Noelene: it's so interesting to have them as some kind of foil to Helen/Dale. So soft to each other. Noelene's concern on their relationship affects their career because she's an Asian woman and how a relationship becomes a whole family thing is so relatable. Dennis caring for her because the Asian solidarity is cute as well. And Rob is such a softie 🫂

Helen/Dale: I feel for them both. They're the reason why my office doesn't allow their workers to marry each other lol. It's complicated. You kinda see yourself as a team, but your boss don't. And both of them got a point imo. Dale is right with the footage, Helen is right with the gun law. I think if they prepared a good script for her to corner that gun nut, it could have gone awesomely, but alas. That whole newsroom is filled with alphas (except Dale, he's pretending he has an inch of alpha in him). Dale only listens to words about his own career when Gerry speaks is so funny though (I'm so sorry Gerry, but there are only two things inside his head: career and Helen). And how the moment he's assured that he has a good audience instinct he uses it immediately to recover Helen's image? That's cute. That's love. I'm so sorry to doubt you 🥺

Now, these snakes: Geoff, Evelyn, and Charlie. Geoff isn't that snakey without his wife. He is so unprofessional with his program though. Like, he literally uses it to preach? Doesn't he have a boss or something? I know it's an exclusive program, but still. And GOD Evelyn is out there gaslighting Cheryl in real time. I wrote on my note "Hannibal would be so proud of her". She is my Big Bad Guy from S1, actually. And Charlie, he is interesting. He pokes and prods until he finds the real fault on his cup (News at Six). I think he's underestimating Helen at first, and now he's "interested" in her because she doesn't follow his words yet somehow presents a better solution. (Good for Helen for standing her ground!) But he doesn't realize yet Helen/Dale move as one unit though. He's also so controlling. It will be interesting to see if he'll just fire Lindsey in the next episode or take advantage of the dislike the crews have for each other longer.

Anyway, a solid episode throughout. 10/10. I think I need to rewatch it tomorrow.

Ep 15 thoughts, the good & the bad behind the cut:

The good:

So that dressing room scene was muy caliente and I loved it. Loved their couch kiss and all the cute Shinhong scenes including Shinyu trailing after his girl everywhere and neglecting his work duties to do so (lol, how many hours of actual work has he clocked in). I love loser Shinyu the most and him reassuring that Hongjo is pretty in everything was very sweet of him. :3

I adore Ms. Ma and that proposal scene was as messy as it was hilarious. Her reaction was realistic. I'm glad she didn't allow herself to get peer pressured into marriage by her coworkers. Public proposals are such a horrible idea. :D DO NOT DO IT UNLESS YOU'VE DISCUSSED MARRIAGE WITH THE PERSON YOU'RE PROPOSING TO.

Eunwol was her shrewd self, godda love halmeuni. Halmeuni has zero fucks to give.

I'm glad Hongjo's coworkers (the duo of girls) are being kinder towards Hongjo. I hope they can eventually be proper friends.

The bad:

This writers team took all their notes from 2010s kdramas. We have The Mean Girl (Nayeon) and the persistent stalking (by the Gardener) that's been dragged on for far too long. Despite bodyguards, cops and pepper sprays this man cannot be caught. He's an actual supervillain and if he's not using shaman powers to avoid capture, I'd be amazed. The CIA should hire that man.

The absolute garbage that is Shin Yu's father. I loathe that man to my core. I want Shinyu's mom to divorce the bastard, but I just know from the 2010's writing vibes that she won't, and I will hate it. The man is an abusive toad, that is all.

The way they're painting both Shin yu's mother and Hongjo as absent-minded idiots makes me a little [clenches fist]... upset. I don't accept that she'd tell the bodyguards to leave or try to take the bus home AGAIN after everything that's happened. This does not track with my image of Hongjo and she'd be smarter than that. I loved her faceoff with Nayeon, though, she was smart to record the conversation.

Shinyu not telling Hongjo about the pregnancy news... like what was that. Shinyu. My guy. This is not something you just NEGLECT TO TELL YOUR PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND. That wasn't a cute scene, it was an infuriating scene and that omission of important details has been a massive character fault of Shinyu since the beginning of this drama. It's disrespectful towards the intelligence and the autonomy of one's girlfriend. It's insulting.

Also having sex without a condom and immediately getting pregnant... I mean yes, that'll happen if you don't use protection, but late 20s to early 30s men and women who have any sense don't just forget to use protection.

I've been hoping for Shaman Hongjo to rise and for her to have her own Big Moment as the baddie I know she can be, so I'm praying that it'll happen in tomorrow's episode 16/the finale.

There are so many loose threads and so much has been left into the dark, so I just hope that they'll manage to illuminate some of the more integral mysteries at least. But it'll be difficult with just 60 minutes left of the show.

3. What’s your favorite episode? Why?

My favorite episode (I have two but I think one definitely beats out the other for the top spot) is S3 Ep 4 ��A Different Approach”. I absolutely loved getting to see Crosshair and Omega interact throughout that whole episode. Their banter was so good and so funny!! Seeing how their relationship had evolved over their time spent at Tantiss beginning to shine through in them trying to get back to the rest of the Batch just made it my favorite episode of the entire show.

12. Which Batcher do you think would be your best friend?

This is soooo hard to answer lol. Probably Echo tbh because I’m definitely the mom friend of my close group of friends and I feel like Echo and I would really vibe based off of just that fact alone 😂. We are really out here trying to get shit done and keep everyone safe lmao.

25. What are your favorite things about each Batcher?

Hunter: I adore Hunter’s commitment to doing the right thing, no matter how difficult the situation & circumstances. He carries himself with so much integrity and I think that is something I definitely love about him.

Wrecker: Ohhhhhh my boy Wrecker is such a sweetie and big softy. I love his gentleness towards others, especially Omega. He’s literally a giant muscly teddy bear and I love him for that. Wrecker, like Omega, is quick to forgive and give others a second chance. He’s such an underrated member of the Batch imo. Wrecker girlies, where you at??

Echo: I love Echo’s dedication to his brothers and to Rex’s cause. He so badly wants to help each and every single one of his brothers to safety so that none of them have to go through what he did on Skako Minor. I think Echo has such a big heart and he deserves all the love.

Crosshair: Oh gosh where do I even start with him. I truly admire Crosshair’s sense of loyalty. I have that same loyal-to-a-fault sense just like he does and it was so touching and heart wrenching at times to see Crosshair’s loyalties shift back to his brothers and sister after choosing the Empire over them. I’m of the firm opinion that Crosshair loves the hardest out of the entire Batch and he will do everything in his power, no matter his own feelings to keep his family safe. The reason why I think he’s one of my favorites is because he’s a lot like me: fiercely loyal and a person who loves incredibly deeply.

Tech: As a certified Tech Girlie™️, literally everything about him is my favorite 😂. He’s so smart and honest and kind. I adore his self confidence. In S2 Ep 4 “Faster,” Tech was such a badass and had no doubt that he could win that race. He is definitely the most confident of his brothers and that is what I think really attracts me to him. Not to mention he’s so cute with all of his quirks and endless knowledge. I could honestly listen to him talk for hours y’all. 🥰

40. Favorite scene(s)?

Okay this is soooo difficult to answer because there are so many scenes that I looooooove. One of the first to come to mind is in S3 Ep 4 where Omega finally gives in and tells Crosshair that they can try things his way and he replies with, “Finally.” Like my guy was chomping at the bit to shoot those Imperials lmfao. Another is the scene between Tech & Omega in the mine where he explains to her that he processes his feelings differently than she and the others do but that he doesn’t feel any less than she does. And when he confirms to Omega that they are a family had me tearing up 😭😭😭 That scene was so touching and beautiful. 11/10. And ofc, I cannot leave out the meditation scene with Crosshair & Omega. 🥺🥺🥺 I have sooooo many other favorites but then this would get wayyyyyy too long lmao.

Uh-oh? Somehow we are at the end of chapter 3 already? When I didn't come up with anything to wrap it up with yet?! What do I do?......

Um, first, let's get to today's episode! And I think this one kinda warrants a warning for internet hate verging on cyberbullying... it's not as severe as in some other parts of the game, but it doesn't hurt to at least be mentally prepared. All of it is contained to the chat, btw; it doesn't come up in the dialogue. With this in mind, let's tune in!

Aaaand that's it for chapter 3! The plot thickens?........ Anyway, chapter 4 tomorrow, hopefully returning to the (utc +0) 3pm/15:00 timeslot.

As for the poll, actually, let me roll you a question about the format. In the last couple episodes, I did alternative translations for quite a few messages in the chat, and I'm not super happy with how I currently add them to the video (as an additional line when the message in question pops up). The possible solutions I came up with are: (1) directly 'replacing' the relevant messages with the alt tl in the video, while keeping the og tl in the transcript for those interested; (2) not adding the alt tls to the video at all, and only adding them to the transcript. To make this decision, I have two questions:

I used to think that the point where something got broken between Rory and Jess was when Rory never wrote to him and Jess decided to move on- like that was the point when they started to hold back, started to distrust each other... And I still think it WAS in a lot of ways, especially for Jess, but I'm starting to think that for Rory it was missing her mom's graduation. Because that was the point where she started feeling like her feelings for Jess were something she couldn't control. And that was TERRIFYING! And now people were getting hurt! Her MOM was getting hurt! And Rory had that whole meltdown desperately trying to deny why she would do something like this. But then, as soon as Jess showed up again, she lost control of herself AGAIN. Like, IMMEDIATELY. And I think that really, really scared Rory and she started seeing Jess as someone she needed to keep at a distance (even when she also wanted that distance erased).

So, now I'm wondering... would the trajectory of their relationship have been any different if Rory hadn't gotten on the wrong bus that day? If she'd made it to the graduation on time, with the Go-Go's record Jess helped her to find (being a reason for her mother's happiness instead of a reason for her pain)? If her obsession with Jess hadn't been a thing that hurt her mom, would she have had more positive feelings about it? Jess seemed ready to go "all-in" when he first came back (he MOVED BACK! For HER! What a huge thing that is?!), but grew bitter over the summer. But what if Rory had been "all-in" too? Would their relationship have gone better if both of them felt like they could trust that the other REALLY CARED?

i put this ask kind of on "hold" for a lot of reasons, and the most important one is because i think you are 100% right, but i think it's started even before - when rory got hurt and jess left to nyc without saying goodbye to her, i think something of her just broke there, and no one believed her it isn't jess's fault, and that she is responsible to what happened exactly as he is. she wanted him to keep driving, she is the reason they even got into this car accident in the first place (because if she wouldn't have said 'turn right', jess would've drive back to luke's, they would've studied a bit more & maybe meet tomorrow morning at luke's before she goes to school). instead, her arm got broken and he left without saying goodbye, and on the day her mother graduation's, she went to see jess, got stuck on a bus in nyc and missed her mom's graduation completely and now she has to suffer the consequences of all of it. because the moment jess is back, she is kissing him behind dean's back! and a few days (or weeks, you can't really tell time between episodes lol) she cried to her mom that she loves dean, that she will always gonna love dean, she literally punished herself and felt to awful because she hurt her mom and other people too! and see how quickly rory stop kissing jess (she kissed him first!), demand him not to say anything (he kept that promise!!! he didn't say ANYTHING!) and welcomed him home. like???? we have so many things we need to discuss here but kissing jess was what made her go to washington because she couldn't deal with spending an entire summer around him (and being with dean....) and she couldn't tell her mom that because as we saw in lorelai's reaction in 3.01 (and rightfully so) she took dean's side. people are keep getting hurt for her love for jess, and maybe she feels like she needs to keep her distance from him, until they are together and now it's okay because now she is the one who gets her heart broken and not everyone else around her. and it's completely heartbreaking but like.... this is so so important because in s4 she is very much heartbroken by jess while everyone seemed to have moved on from being hurt by him - her mom isn't worrying about them being together, and in the yale vs harvard game she is admits to emily she is hoping he'd gone forever and rory wouldn't hear from him again, then he showed up again in rory's life twice and she is getting hurt by him again what leads her in a way to have sex with dean and then she doesn't hears for him for over a year but in this point it doesn't matter because she is dating logan! and she loves logan! and jess is nowhere to be found, to hurt her again! or make other's people get hurt by her because her love for him!

and i think, if rory wouldn't have said 'turn right', or even if she would've and still got her arm broken and then made it back in time to her mother graduation, i do believe things could've went very different! like maybe rory wouldn't even going to washingtion for the entire summer, maybe she & jess could've sorted things out and she would've breaking up with dean and start dating jess way earlier and then her love for jess wasn't that scary terrifying thing that makes people around her getting hurt, it would've been that thing that heals her & the people around her because think of the endless opportunities lorelai and jess could've had getting alone over the summer! and jess and lane's friendship! all this little things would've change the way the town sees jess but more importantly the way rory sees her relationship with jess!!

Cabin Pressure Advent Day 20: Timbuktu

(Or, since as you can see I said it only once, Guspini)

Yay, it's S4! My favorite season, because as I've noted, I'm a sucker for when the show gets fluffier. And also the episodes are all just really really good.

This is probably my least favorite episode in the season, which says a lot as it's pretty dang good; Very funny, excellent scheming re the whiskey, and while the Birling plotline is a bit hair-raising (he gets less funny when he's sober lol), it's still well done.

What I really love, though, is that it shows off how much better Martin's gotten in ways that St Petersburg didn't as much (it was more Douglas's show). We see him mellow a bit- even his game at the beginning of the episode is him not throwing a tantrum when he can't win one of Douglas's, but just taking advantage of what he CAN do in a reasonably fair (if petty) way. He knows where he can beat Douglas... so he just does that.

(Also, speaking of the beginning of the episode, BOOO the cold opens are gone again...)

Martin also shows he's loosening up by turning to Douglas and Carolyn to solve a problem knowing he can't- accepting his limitations relatively philosophically. AND THEN HE SOLVES IT, specifically at the moment where he's sure he can't- illustrating the fact that a lot of his problem is really his nerves and complete lack of calm. And Douglas and Carolyn take him seriously! It's actually pretty cool. Sure, Carolyn doesn't agree to do it until Douglas wheedles her into it by actually planning it out and making it sound feasible, but they both admire the idea. Sure, ultimately it fails, but really that's Arthur's fault- for all they rag on Martin at the end, I don't actually think there's anything he could have said to fix the situation once Arthur opened his big bazoo.

But I think something way crazier happens this episode- Douglas teams up with Martin! Douglas decides that it's worth it not just to trust Martin with part of his heist/extortion plan but to make him a partner in it, and Martin pulls it off brilliantly. I'm so proud of him, and of Douglas for learning to play nicely with others lol. It's a great Talisker plot- not quite Paris, but more cohesive than Edinburgh for sure.

The last thing I'll note is- however much one may cringe at Arthur in this episode, it is so well done in terms of tying in everything we know about him, and how, however good Martin's idea more broadly, it was never ever going to work. He managed to be funny, in character, while also, as they note, weirdly erudite on the subject of Mali as only an Arthur can be. I appreciate how on the one hand they get their comeuppance for not trusting him with the truth, and on the other hand he IMMEDIATELY proves why they didn't. Douglas should have thought this through more...

Hard to believe this is the last time we see Mr Birling- I wonder whether he'll ever be willing to fly with them again? (And what do we think- would they have gotten away with it if Italy had been losing? Another rare Douglas L- why pick a location that's one of the two nationalities in the game?!)

Hey, folks. 

The new/last episode should broadcast in about fifteen minutes. I’m excited? Terrified? Feels weird, man, feels really weird. I mean, stories you love coming to an end is always weird, but also this is the first time I’ve liveblogged something that was actively airing, which makes everything all the more tied up together, you know? 

I’m gonna blog it tomorrow, starting whenever I get up in the morning. Not gonna try to start tonight; not only would it be weird to start blogging when other people are still processing, I have a VtM game in about half an hour :)

I’ll get up, make some tea, and blog. 

In the meantime, here’s some thoughts on what I… expect? Hope for? Fear?

If my long chain of assumptions based on seeing an outfit is correct and the Collector is indeed dropping people into their own worst nightmares, that is absolutely going to get turned around on him by accident. 

I said it before, but Camila is going to be the one to really get through to the Collector. 

I saw the tagline was like “the fate of the Isles rests on a cursed witch, a human, and a little king” and that is definitely going to refer not just to Eda, Luz, and King, but also another set of people. 

RAE DA KISS. P L EASE. No okay they don’t need to kiss but let there be some indication that they’re going to actually talk and patch things up. 

I want somebody other than Hunter to come away with a scar. (Okay Luz has her brow scar too but I want somebody else.) This is a me thing, I guess, but magic leaving marks is fascinating. I know they probably couldn’t get away with it, but there’s a part of me really expecting that whole chunk of Raine’s ear with the earring to just. Fall off. 

If Luz is indeed imagining herself as Belos bc she thinks she’s That Much At Fault, her new big brother is going to shake her by the ear because what the hell is she talking about. 

That mysterious figure in the In-Between… having looked at it, zoomed in, a couple more times, it definitely looks like a Titan, which makes me wonder if the In-Between is kind of… the afterlife? Given that they wouldn’t be introducing a random Titan at this point, that’s either King’s dad (likely) or King from the future (unlikely imo). 

I think some kind of future epilogue is pretty likely, even if that’s just still images over the credits. If there are grown-up designs for the kids, I expect the fan artists to be all over them immediately lol. 

Maybe it’s too minor, they’re low on time, but I would love it if Steve and Matt got to share a screen, even for a moment. Let Them Be Bros.

I wanna know what the effects of Having Been Drained are on the adult witches, actually, once they’re no longer puppets— Eda and Lily didn’t have magic at the time of the spell, so it’d be different for them. Are they able to access their magic again? Are the coven seals still in effect? We didn’t see Kikimora do any actual magic of her own, as far as I recall, just piloted the Abomatron. Hmm. 

I have further thoughts but I should post this now.

So, in my continued watching of the various Arrowverse TV show, I have finally gotten to see the big crossover event that the Arrowverse has been building to since the first season of The Flash and that is Crisis On Infinite Earths. I just kind of want to talk about what I liked, what surprised me and some other things. Remember, there might be spoilers here.

What I Liked:

To be honest, there is quite a lot that liked here but, I will try to keep this not too long.

All the cameos were pretty neat. Got to see an adult Robin from the 66' Batman series on Earth 66. There was a second of another Robin but, I am not sure which Robin that was supposed to be. Getting to see Kevin Conroy on camera in live action as Batman was pretty cool and really liked that take on him too. He basically admitted to killing a bunch of his foes, including that Earths Superman which, as you can imagine, didn't sit well with either Supergirl or Batwoman. We got to see Brandon Routh's Superman and he got to meet Ray Palmer/The Atom which was pretty funny. After the crossover we got to see Stargirl with some people that I am not sure who they are, we got to see Raven and Starfire which, I believe is the version from the Titans TV show and we also got to see the Doom Patrol. As much as I had not seen the show, it was cool getting to see Lucifer from the Lucifer TV show get to have a small part. Of course, it was neat getting to see Ezra Miller's Flash show up too. Lots of pretty neat cameos in my mind.

It was, in my opinion, about damn time that Black Lightning got to meet the other CW heroes, minus Green Arrow since he died before Black Lightning got the chance to meet him.

Nash got what he deserved once the universe was reset. I was so glad too see him get punched since pretty much all of Crisis was his fault. It was satisfying to see him get what deserved.

As I said, there was just so so much that I really liked here that it is hard to pick specifics so, I am just going to move on.

Things That Surprised Me:

In the moment that it happened, I was so not expecting The Flash from Earth-90 to sacrifice his life so that Earth 1 Flash could live and not vanish in Crisis which had been built up to since season 1 of The Flash. Not complaining that Earth 1 Flash survived but, I was not expecting Earth-90 Flash to make the sacrifice.

As much as I had anticipated Oliver's death (Arrow ends with season 8 and Flash has like three more seasons lol) I was not really expecting it to happen as early as it did.

Lex Luthor's involvement was not something I saw coming. I was not happy that The Monitor brought him back to life but, I was not really expecting him to help the heroes in the moment that he did.

Oliver basically becoming a cosmic entity was hugely unexpected but very cool too.

I'm sure there are probably more but, I can't think of more things at this time so, I am going to move on.

Other Things:

I am just lumping the rest of my thoughts here because I don't really know how else I want to categorize them.

I really wish that the episode of Black Lightning that was apart of the Crisis just had more to do with the actual Crisis. It spent too much time on how the anti-matter from the red sky was affect Jen and everything with the two other versions of herself. Like, they spent too much time on that crap and the the anti-matter wave comes, Black Lightning gets teleported out before that Earth gets wiped out. Plus, as a whole with all six episodes considered, Black Lightning only has like two appearances in the whole of the Crisis and I just wanted to see him interact with the other characters more. On the note of characters from Black Lightning, I wish that Black Lightning was not the only hero from that show to be apart of the crossover. Why couldn't Thunder & Lightning be in it? Dreamer got to make an appearance, why not those two?

I also wish that they had used all the characters from Legends of Tomorrow too. Like, they used Sara, Mick and Ray and only had Nate and the other guy, whose name is escaping me right, get like two seconds and that's it. Even in the Crisis part that was an episode of Legends of Tomorrow and still didn't use many of the members of the team.

The whole thing with Nash Wells just being stuck watching tragedies was really stupid to me. Especially when I basically helped the heroes break into the place where the Anti-Monitor's anti-matter canon is located. Like, if Nash was technically serving the Anti-Monitor, why didn't the Anti-Monitor stop Nash from revealing it? Why not do something to stop Vibe from getting the information they needed to get into that room.

Layla's whole thing felt extremely forced. She spends like two episodes of Arrow before the Crisis doing sketchy things and then bam, she's the Harbinger....who is somehow easily manipulated to help the Anti-Monitor and then does absolutely nothing to help the heroes.

I was not really a fan of the whole sub-plot of trying to bring Oliver back via a Lazarus Pit on another Earth. I mean, sure, it was an excuse to have Constantine be apart of the Crisis but, it was ultimately not worth it if you ask me since that is when he becomes a cosmic being. Could have done something a little more interesting without that little sub-plot.

The part after our heroes finish mourning Oliver's death when Barry reveals the table and chairs for all the heroes, that part was interesting to me. Like there's a spot for The Flash, Black Lightning, Supergirl, Superman, White Canary and Batwoman and they did this as a sort of Justice League setup sort of thing. I just find it interesting because like why doesn't Martian Manhunter, Dreamer, or any of the other Legends get chairs? It feels to me like they're saying that The Flash, Black Lightning, Supergirl, Superman, White Canary and Batwoman are the MORE IMPORTANT Arrowverse heroes and the others are just lesser heroes or something. Just how it felt to me.

Well, that is all that I can think of at the moment. Like I have already said, I really did enjoy the Crisis crossover. Is it pefect? No, but it is very clear to me that all the actors and crew and directors put their hearts into making this crossover the best that it can be. um so I’m starting a 2 week temp job next week and I’m super nervous since I’ve never had a job before (ik im a pathetic 21y/o). After the 2 weeks I have a different job starting in customer service. All I’ve ever done is study and do things related to uni so this is a completely new environment- it’ll be the first time regularly leaving the house in almost half a year. I sound really stupid but do you by any chance have any advice?

First off, you're not pathetic - be kinder to yourself :) everybody's situation is different and the fact that you've never had a job before doesn't make you "less than" (if you know what I mean).

Customer service (or customer facing) job tips:

People are assholes. Not all people are assholes, but there's a good chunk of them that are. I'm saying this because there will be people that no matter how accommodating you are / no matter how good/efficient you are etc. they will find a reason to complain and make your day miserable. Remember that it's not your fault, they are just miserable people themselves and they are just taking it out on you.

Don't take a bad day home with you. Let me elaborate further: bad days happen and that's just a part of the work life. Whether it's a mistake, a bad client, etc. try to remember that worrying over this stuff once you clocked out will make no difference. Leave that crap at work, embrace the mentality of "It's a tomorrow problem". Try to establish a routine to help decompress after work, it will help on bad days (personally, I love hitting the gym for even 45 minutes after I'm done. Or watching an episode of one of my fave comfort shows. Hell, I even have a AO3 reading list for "bad days" lol)

It's ok to ask questions. I've straight up told clients "Listen, I don't have an answer for you but I let me find out and I'll call you back in 20". I'd much rather ask and get a correct answer rather than giving out the wrong info because I'm too scared to bother someone and then having to fix my own mistake later.

Dealing with people in a professional environment? it's a learning process and nobody is perfect from the get go. You got this :)
