[Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3] [Part 4]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the wedding at City Hall you and Tetsuro had briefly discussed rings over dinner. You had agreed then that a simple (and cheap) pair of stainless steel would be enough, but since it wasn’t necessary to wear them for the benefits of tax deductions and the likes, you’d put the selection of it on the back burner. Now you were strolling through one of many shopping centers Tokyo had to offer, each finishing up a cone of ice cream to welcome the spring weather.
“Here?”, you asked, nodding to a rotating jewelry rack outside of a store frequented by students and children.
“I think we can do a little better than that.”, he said with a pointed frown at the bright orange ¥600* price tag of the display.
With a gentle push on the small of your back, he ushered you along, looking left and right for something fitting. You eventually landed at a regular jeweler - nothing high-end, but definitely pricier than you had envisioned.
Instinctively, you moved to the showcase with the lowest prices and bent over the well-lit, white cushions to study your options.
“This one is pretty.”, you said after a minute or two, pointing at one in the upper right-hand corner, “But it’s not very wedding ring material.”
“Says who?”, he asked next to you, leaning further down to look at it closely.
“I dunno, aren’t wedding rings supposed to be all classic and stuff?”
“I don’t remember ever seeing that in the handbook.”, he winked, “But seriously, if you like it, then it’s a wedding ring. Simple as that.”
You smiled and shrugged, “Alright, then I’d like that one.”
It didn’t take long for Tetsuro to find one as well and you called over the clerk to pay. While both rings were taken to the back to adjust them to the right size, you walked around the more expensive part of the store, checking out tennis bracelets, diamond chokers, and real pearl necklaces, letting out a low breath whenever you saw the price tag. In the front of the store in a display case near the windows, your eyes were caught by the glint of yet another pretty necklace. You paused and stepped nearer, not daring to touch the glass so as to not smudge it with fingerprints.
“You like?”, Tetsuro’s voice was so close next to your ear that it made you jump and put a hand on your pounding heart.
“Don’t scare me like that.”, you laughed and turned your attention back to the necklace, “It’s pretty, yeah.”
“It even kinda matches your ring.”, he noted.
“Oh my god, you’re right, it does.”
“Excuse me?”, he called to the clerk.
“No, Tetsu, what are you doing?”
He ignored you and your flailing hands in his face trying to shut him up. It was easy to evade your attempts - damn his height.
“Could we try this one on, please?”
The clerk came over and after a quick professional glance at the necklace, she bowed in apology, “I’m sorry, sir. This is only a display piece and not for sale. I can order it from a different branch if you like.”
“Ye-“
“That won’t be necessary.”, you cut him off, “Thank you very much.”
“Very well.”, with another bow, the clerk gestured to the cash register, “Your purchase is ready.”
Once outside of the store, Tetsuro set the bag on an empty nearby bench and took the two black velvet boxes out.
“Your hand, milady.”, he said dorkily, holding out his palm.
“I can do it.”, you said brightly.
“I know you can, but I can also refill my own printer ink and yet you always do it.”
“So you don’t smear anything on your fingers before a meeting.”, you countered.
“Your hand.”, he insisted.
Clicking your tongue and sighing dramatically you put your hand in his and he pushed the pretty ring onto your finger. It fit perfectly.
Next, he picked his own ring from the second box and held it out to you. You took it with a frown and he held out his hand, wiggling his fingers expectantly.
“You’re an idiot.”, you informed him as you put the ring in place. For a moment you looked down at both your hands and at the rings that, although mismatched at first glance, did go together very well once the details came into focus.
“So. Lunch?”, he asked and put the empty boxes back into the bag, unaware of your hesitation to let go of his hand.
“What is this?!”
“What?”
“What am I seeing right now?”
“Darling, you have to be more specific.”
Tetsuro sat on the couch, elbow-deep in a can of chips, watching TV when you came back from an afternoon with Asana.
“This!”
You gestured at the chips.
“Cut me some slack.”
“Why? You on your period?”
“No… I finished a really tough proposal and deserved a treat.”
You put the leftover food you brought for him on the kitchen counter and walked over to the couch to plop down next to him.
“Well, yeah, but maybe you’re also just a lying liar who lies. What did you tell me when I bought these chips?”
He pretended to think hard, “Hm, nope, can’t remember.”
You imitated, “Do you know how many additives are in these?”
“Doesn’t sound familiar.”
“And all these artificial flavors?”
“Are you done?”
“Almost. With this money, you could get a much healthier snack!”
“Whoever said that does have a point.”
“These chips are so expensive. That’s like two broccolis!”
“Will you be quiet if I give you the rest?”
“Oh, you mean the rest of my chips? My emergency period craving chips? Maybe.”
He removed his hand and held out the can to you. There were only some crumbs left at the bottom that at best with the help from some great puzzle masters could surmount to a singular chip.
“You…”
“Here, say aaah~”
He took the can from you and angled it against your lips so the chip pieces gradually slid towards you.
“Aaaaah~”, he repeated obnoxiously.
With an annoyed squint at him, you hoovered in the remnants of chip, chewing slowly like you were planning revenge.
“You’re getting me new ones.”
“But they have so many additives, darling.”
You snatched the chipless paper can out of his hand and began bonking him on the head and shoulder when he ducked away laughing. You half crawled on top of him to get at the coward who now began shielding himself with a pillow.
Bonk! Bonk! Bonkbonk!
“Okay okay! Two cans! I’ll get you two cans!”
Bonk!
“And some strawberries!”
Tentative bonk.
“And boba.”
The bonking seized.
Tetsuro lowered his pillow looking up at you.
“Although only with tapioca because those fruity bubbles really have so many chemica-ahahaha!”
Bonk bonk bonk!
“Wait, time-out.”, he gasped and sat up. You were almost straddling him on the couch while he grabbed his ringing phone from the coffee table. As if completely natural his hand rested on your knee.
“Yes hi hello. - Hey, dad.” He met your eyes while he listened, “Yeah. - Uh-huh. - Dinner? - Tomorrow? I dunno, that’s… I’ll check my calendar, one second.” He looked at you as if silently asking if you’d made any plans. You shook your head and waved your hand to encourage him.
“Yeah, tomorrow is good. - Wait one more thing, dad.” Tetsuro searched your eyes for a moment before he asked, “Can I bring y/n?”
Your brows rose in shock and you shook your head again, this time in an attempt to make him retract his question.
“Okay, perfect thanks, see you then! Bye!”
“More tea?”
“Ah, yes please.”
You lifted your still half-full cup for Tetsuro’s father to top it up, then sipped it awkwardly. On the way here, Tetsuro had brainstormed how to tell his dad about the arrangement without it coming across as if he did it out of spite or didn’t invite him because he didn’t love him. As far as you knew, he had a strong opening of “Dad, I’d like to talk to you.” and after that, nothing.
He sat next to you at the kitchen table, peeling an apple for you and his father. The pieces for the older man were completely cleaned, yours still had enough of the red peel to make it look like a bunny. It was a habit he had when he was nervous. During the prep for a big presentation a few weeks ago you had drowned in carefully carved apple bunnies at home.
“Dad, I’d like to talk to you.”, Tetsuro said eventually when he ran out of fruit.
His father nodded, curious, and followed his son outside onto the flat little patio of the modest suburban house.
You couldn’t hear what was said but through the sliding glass door, you saw Tetsuro take a deep breath and then speak. His father’s smile turned to a frown and at one point he looked back inside at you sitting at the kitchen table, trying as hard as you could to look unbothered by it all - as if this was a regular Sunday.
Eventually, they came back inside and Mr Kuroo sat back down, grabbing another slice of apple. Chewing carefully, the crunching bites were the only sound in the room for a while until he swallowed and interlaced his fingers, placing his folded hands on the tabletop. Tetsuro in the meantime hadn’t dared to move, opting instead to stand behind your chair, holding onto the back of it for support.
“Marriage.”, Mr Kuroo began, “It’s not an easy thing. It’s hard work. And even if you only want to do it for the side benefits, it comes with a lot of responsibilities. Living together will be an adjustment. You might have different sleeping patterns, food preferences, life plans and schedules, and different priorities for spending money. Marriage is not something to take lightly. It may sound fun and easy but does a little bit of extra money a year really mean so much to you?” He sighed. “Give it six months. Or even just three and see each other as often as you can. See if it’s possible to be together for the whole day and if all of that works out, then you can revisit the marriage plan.”
He finished his little speech and crossed his arms, seemingly certain he had gotten his point across.
Tetsuro cleared his throat.
“Uhm, we got married over two months ago.”
“Oh.”, his dad blinked and both you and Tetsuro held your breath waiting for his reaction, “Well that… calls for a celebration, right? I’ll get the good sake and actually, I’ll quickly go to the store and get something fish and red beans.”
“Dad, really, you don’t have t-“
“Ah, don’t worry, Tetsuro, I’ll be right back, okay? You know where the sake is. Set the table, alright?”
He patted his son on the shoulder on his way out and you two heard the front door open and close soon after.
“What was that about?”, you asked carefully and got out of your chair, looking at the front door your father-in-law had fled through.
“Oh, fish and red bean rice are traditionally served at weddings.”, Tetsuro explained, his expression unreadable.
You nodded and looked at him from the side.
“Are you alright?”
“What? Yeah, of course.”, he said, not meeting your eyes.
“Because it’s fine if you’re not, you know.”
“I know. It’s all good, I promise.”
You slipped your hand into his, holding his arm with your free hand for good measure, using your thumb to rub a soothing pattern.
He finally turned to you, looking down at your hands, then at you.
“I’m fine.”
“You do realize that the more you say it, the less I believe you, right?” You tried to make your voice sound light and joking and a small smile twitched on his ever-smirking lips.
“I know.”
“If you want us to get a divorce, you know it’s perfectly okay to-“
“No no, all good.”
“Are you sure?”
Now it was on him to nod. “Yeah, I don’t think I could take a failed marriage currently.”
You squeezed his arm and then asked him where the dishes were so you could set the table.

A3! Usui Masumi - Translation [SR] A Token of Love For You (1/2)
Tumblr media
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
TV Reporter: “The Valentine’s season has come around again this year~!” “And so we’re broadcasting a special Valentine’s feature today straight from the chocolate sales floor!”
Masumi: A special Valentine's feature…
Muku: Has it caught your eye, Masumi-kun?
Tumblr media
Masumi: Well, rather than that… They could have some chocolates she might like.
Juza: Is that what you’re thinkin’? I can’t wait to see what kinda chocolates they show us.
Muku: …Wow, that chocolate looks delicious.
Masumi: It does looks like something you’d enjoy.
Tumblr media
Juza: Should we go buy some later?
Muku: Yes, please. I have to make a note of where we can find that one! I'm sure the store will be crowded if we go just before Valentine’s Day, so it would be best to drop by earlier than later.
Juza: Right. We should prolly go tomorrow.
Masumi: (It’s almost Valentine’s Day…  I can’t wait to receive chocolates from Director again this year.)
*door opens*
Izumi: Ah, are you guys watching a special Valentine’s Day feature?
Masumi: Director…!
Tsuzuru: There’s a lot of those this time of the year, huh?
Tumblr media
Masumi: Why is Tsuzuru with you…
Tsuzuru: We just happened to bump into each other in the hallway, okay?
TV Reporter: “There’s a whole bunch of DIY kits lined up here.”
Izumi: Woah, there’s so many different types of DIY kits.
Tsuzuru: I wonder what those things taste like.
TV Reporter: “Do you always buy this particular kit?”
Customer: “I’ve bought it countless times to make myself. This one’s so simple, yet it tastes great.”
Juza: It looks tasty.
Muku: I see, they’ve bought it for themselves many times.
Tumblr media
Izumi: If these kits taste good, then I bet they’re great for people who aren’t good at baking. They can make them and then give them out as Valentine’s gifts. Ah. But I wonder if it’d feel a bit iffy getting something made from a kit for Valentine’s Day…
Masumi: I’d be happy with anything as long as it’s from you. Making desserts is hard, so anything would be fine as long as it’s made with love.
Juza: Even if you use a kit, it doesn’t change the fact you’re makin’ it.
Muku: I agree. I would be happy just receiving something.
Tsuzuru: That’s true. Plus, honestly, I bet the person getting it wouldn’t even realize if it’s made by a kit or not.
Izumi: I see. They might not even realize, huh?
Juza: …That reminds me. You always give us your handmade sweets for Valentine’s Day.
Muku: Ah, that’s right. Thank you so much even though I’m sure you’re busy.
Izumi: Fufu, you’re very welcome.
Masumi: …About the kits we were just talking about—I’m thrilled I get to have your handmade chocolates for Valentine’s Day. But if it’s a lot of work for you, then it’s okay to take a step back. I don’t want you to push yourself too hard for me.
Option 1: “Thank you”
Izumi: Thank you, Masumi-kun. I appreciate you worrying about me.
Masumi: Of course I do. It’d make me happier getting to see your smile rather than getting something you forced yourself to make.
Izumi: Fufu. Hearing you say that takes a load off my shoulders.
Option 2: “I’m not pushing myself at all!”
Izumi: I’m not pushing myself at all! There’s no need to worry, I swear.
Masumi: …I see. If you say so. Seeing you smile is the most important thing to me.
Izumi: Right. Thanks for caring about me.
Tsuzuru: I'm on the same page about not wanting Director to push herself. But it’s not like she’s making them just for you, Masumi.
Masumi: Zip it, Tsuzuru.
Tumblr media
Muku: T-That’s just how much Masumi-kun is looking forward to Director-san’s chocolates, right!
Masumi: Right.
Juza: I’d be happy gettin’ Director’s chocolates whether they’re handmade or store bought.
Izumi: Fufu. Thanks, you guys. It’s true making things by hand takes lots of time and effort. But it's really fun making them for everyone, so I’d like to make as much as I can. I feel like it’s filled with more of my feelings if I do it myself. So look forward to Valentine’s Day, alright?
Masumi: Of course. I’ll be eagerly waiting then.
-pause-
Masumi: (Tomorrow is finally Valentine’s Day… I’m too excited for Director’s chocolates that I can’t sleep…)
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: Zzz, zzz…
Masumi: … (It’s boring just laying here like this. I'll go hang out in the living room until I get sleepy.)
-pause-
Masumi: (The lights are on… did someone forget to turn them off…?)
Tumblr media
*clattering*
Masumi: ! (Is someone in the kitchen…?)

i tried to check the fics u had available and it wouldn't let me save draft so here is a picture love u love u love u
NOVA <3 I am also going to do 10 for YOUR literal Gotcha prompt. Here we go!
30 for ⚡️:
---
He just kind of has a look like a cat that fell into water. Which usually means something family-related happened. Usually with his parents. Who have both been a lot better lately, honestly, so Buck really hopes that’s not the case. Regardless, once Chris is out of earshot, Buck asks Eddie what’s up, expecting to hear whatever crap Helena has said this time.
He is not expecting what comes out of Eddie’s mouth, instead.
Which is… If Buck understands it… Pepa has a friend whose granddaughter is pregnant, but whose parents are horrible, and Pepa wants them to adopt the baby instead of following through with their plan with Adriana and Kameron.
Buck’s instant reaction is a feeling of gut-deep discomfort. But he doesn’t know why. There’s nothing wrong with what Pepa has asked of them. To meet the young woman. To consider. To keep their options open. Buck knows it’s not a problematic ask, in itself. He’s just… He doesn’t know. He feels irritated about the whole thing. He wishes he could rewind, back out the door, and still be enjoying a simple day with Chris, where their future baby’s origins aren’t up for a larger Diaz family discussion.
“I’m getting a sense you’re not thrilled about this,” Eddie observes when he’s done with his explanation.
Well, no. Buck isn’t thrilled. But it’s not like Eddie is leaping for joy, either?
“I’m not thrilled,” Buck admits. “But I’m… I”m just processing.”
“Yeah,” Eddie sighs. “Honestly? Me too.”
---
30 for 🔼:
---
“And maybe that’s why you’re mad?”
Eddie swallows. “Yeah, okay. Maybe.”
“It’s not about you,” Shannon assures him. “Even if it hurts. I… I mean, that’s hard for anyone to accept, right? I know I suck at it.”
Eddie takes a deep breath. “I think it… It hurts more because…”
“Because you love him?” Shannon reminds him, ever so helpfully.
Eddie makes a pained noise. “Not just… But… Look, don’t get mad when I say this, okay?”
“Okay,” Shannon replies. Not a promise though. If he says something absurd, she’s going to react.
Eddie takes a steeling breath. “Ever since we first met… Okay, ever since our third shift together… It’s been like…”
He’s struggling a lot.
“Like what?” Shannon asks.
“I was overwhelmed,” Eddie says. “I needed help, but I wasn’t going to ask for it. He… He just appeared in our life, Shannon.
---
30 for 🌲:
---
In all that he’s experienced, in all the nightmares he’s suffered over the course of his life, there is no recurring dream that leaves Eddie more unsettled. No bullet wounds, crashing helicopters, or cold, flooded wells. None of it makes Eddie feel so wrong and twisted than those dreams. There’s something about them that always makes him feel like he’s concealing something, when he wakes up in a cool sweat, presses his fingers to his spine, and finds it there. Like he’s a fraud. And one day, when he reaches back, he’ll find that the nightmare has become a reality.
Eddie can’t give these nightmares a start date that he specifically remembers. Or, unfortunately, an end date. Just periods of intensity and periods of absence. They always seem to accompany periods of stress. After Adriana was born, when he crashed his father’s truck. When Shannon got pregnant. During all the rougher periods of their marriage. When she died. When he was shot. When he left the 118. Any time something bad happens to Eddie, he can guarantee, like clockwork, that hollow backed dreams will make a reappearance.
This time, they come back after Buck nearly dies.
Or, not nearly. He did die. Briefly, but nevertheless. Buck died, and when Eddie can actually sleep again - because that takes days - his dreams are plagued.
They’re elaborate this time. That’s not always the case. Sometimes it’s as simple as laying in bed or standing in the bathroom mirror, and discovering the truth of himself. The hollowness. This time, though, he’s at Buck’s funeral. Except, it’s not quite right. It’s not quite what a funeral should be.
---
30 for 🤕:
---
They share a quick, routine kiss before they get out of Buck’s Jeep. Routine, but still very much wanted and enjoyed by Eddie.
They have this rule. Once they get out of the vehicle, and their feet touch the pavement, they’re coworkers first. Obviously, still husbands and best friends and family in the way the whole 118 is family. But everywhere else, being husbands is priority number one. Here, and in order to make the case to the LAFD that they can in fact work together - and are better, working together - they had to make the distinction. So, one final kiss, before every shift.
“Love you,” Buck says.
“Love you.”
Eddie has never been one for rituals since he left the church growing up. But this one always feels important. As simple as it is.
9:02am
“Hey, look,” Chim says, grinning, as his phone dings with an incoming notification. He lifts his phone to show an iMessage photo from Hen of Denny and Mara grinning, walking on a trail through California’s redwoods.
“Aw,” Buck smiles at the photo. “That’s awesome!”
“I take it they’re having a good time,” Eddie says.
“Seems like it,” Chim confirms. “The kids even managed to keep the bickering to a minimum on the drive.”
Bobby laughs at that. “Now that is an accomplishment.”
“Well, hey I’m glad,” Buck says. “They deserve it.”
“They sure do,” Chim agrees.
“Even if Eddie has to be in the ambulance all week,” Buck teases.
Bobby sighs. “You’re truly hard done by, Buck.”
“I know,” he nods theatrically. “I’m being very brave.”

ok so there’s been a lot stuff going on today with multiple writers on here including myself finding out that our works have been reposted on wattpad without ANY of our permission. despite this specific account doing this for over a year by now, basically nobody was even aware of it until today.
there’s a bunch of things wrong about doing this but one specific thing this person said to justify it really ticked me off.
Tumblr media
this is a really shitty excuse for taking the MULTIPLE works from writers to a whole different app where most of them aren’t even on.
the main point i wanted to make for this post is that if you want to have a place to store all the fics you like, the reblog function is such an easy way to do it. all you have do make a side blog (optional and very easy), reblog whatever you like, and add tags to make it easy to find again. it’s so simple and it benefits EVERYONE involved especially the writers.
artists and writers on this site have been saying this FOREVER, over and over again.
personally i LOVE it when people reblog my fics and add their own tags especially if it’s thoughts and commentary on what they had read. it’s highly motivating and it makes me feel like there’s actual community on here. doing this can really make a writer’s day.
this person also mentioned that going through their own likes is a basically a whiplash going from fluff to smut. the thing is… there’s already a solution for that. taggingggggg!!!! if you want fluff then reblog those fics with fluff tags. if you want smut, then reblog those fics with smut tags. etc. etc. etc. it ain’t that difficult.
for the offline reading part, that’s so fucking silly man i can’t. bro honestly i would’ve much rather preferred if this person copied and pasted my fics onto a private note or document for their own personal enjoyment. but noooo they had to copy me and other people’s entire stories PUBLICLY without even making sure that it was alright to do.
anyways to wrap this up, the account name is ohmyjung. unfortunately i don’t think there’s really a way to report them for this since it seems like wattpad really care more abt stealing from published works. so the best we can do right now is hope that this person takes everything down (even if apparently they’re blocking writers for confronting them????)
update: the evil has been rid of. round of applause for everyone’s hard work. my point still stands though. if you want to genuinely show appreciation a really good fan fiction you have read, then throw in a quick reblog. it means a lot

fine dining.
warnings: suggestive talk, other than that nothing! - mentions of food. [Drew Starkey x Female reader.]
part 3 of a series in which Y/N is Drew’s co-star
Drew chuckles at Y/N’s response. “So Dinner and Wine.. Fine Dining if you ask me. There’s an Italian near mine i’ve been meaning to show you.” He smiles at her, “We can just walk in, booking a table might attract paparazzi.” Drew knows it’s the best option for them.
Drew holds the heavy door open to the restaurant on his street, “After you.” Y/N giggled as he playfully remarked , holding the door for her. He converses with the hostess, asking for a table for two.
Y/N and Drew are seated at a table in the corner of the establishment, which is a perfectly fine and private spot. “This is a good spot, we aren’t in the limelight.” He winked at Y/N, pulling out her chair for her politely before taking his own seat opposite her. Y/N
smiles and rests her hands on the menu softly on the wooden table before her, before asking Drew.
“What do you usually get from here?”
“They usually have amazing pasta, which i usually get with a wine. What about you what are you thinking?” Drew smiles at Y/N.
“I’ll have whatever you’re having.”
Greeting the host who comes over to the table, Drew orders their drinks and food before leaving. He looked at Y/N before leaning over so nobody can hear their conversation. “So how did you find today? Do you think it went okay? With the Interview.” He quietly asked, a big soft golden retriever smile plastered across his gorgeous face. Y/N smiles back softly, “I think it went great. From the hears of that reporter i’m sure the Outer Banks fans are loving it.” She finishes with a soft laugh, her strong scent of cherry lipgloss travelling, empowering Drew’s focus on her. Drew listened attentively as she talked, she just always managed to know how to make him feel so comfortable, her laugh a delightful blessing to him. “I’m sure you’ll get lots of support, you definitely deserve it Y/N.”
Y/N felt flattered, blushing before leaning back slightly. She couldn’t really handle being that close to Drew without getting flustered. Good friends. She quickly changes topic. “Nice shirt by the way.” Nodding at his tight fitting tee, but really just checking out his muscular structure and arms. Drew looked down at his shirt and smiled, loving how flustered Y/N looked. “It’s just a simple shirt but thanks Y/N.” He is so proud of how weak he made her, proud of his body and her reaction, before smirking slightly. “Do you like the way i dress?” Coating the realistic meaning behind those words, Y/N was caught off guard immediately. Hoping their drinks would arrive soon so they could drop the whole checking Drew out moment. “Uh.. yeah, yeah you have good- good style.” Drew smiles now. “Thanks, that’s a golden compliment from a stylish woman such as yourself.” He hopes this compliment distracts her, worried he said something he shouldn’t have. He didn’t want to offend her or ruin anything about their little evening by being helplessly flirtatious.
Y/N nodded and thanked Drew before their wine finally came to the table. Drew is slightly nervous as he remembers the last time the two of them had wine they ended up hooking up. He feels his heart racing and speaks to calm his nerves. “So, how have you been? Sorry if i haven’t had much of a chance to speak to you. I’ve had a packed dining schedule recently, then this interview of course.”
Y/N understands and nods, taking a sip of her wine. “I’ve been just fine, how about you though? Not overworking yourself are you?”
Drew leans in, “well you know i like overworking myself.” He commented with a wink, “But seriously, I need some rest. It’s like I never stop working but i just love it so much.. i’ll probably take a break pretty soon.. then i could see you more often.”
Y/N’s eyes widened. Did he really want that? “Sure.. we can hang out.” Mentally reminding herself he was just being kind, and being a good friend.. Taking a long sip of wine as their food is placed before them and they both thank the staff. Drew hopefully smiled.. trying not to seem to excited. “That sounds great. We can get to know each-other more and i even take you up to the beach to teach you how to surf.. if you didn’t know already.” He hopes Y/N would like that, he loved the ocean and hoped it would be exciting if she accepted the surfing date he had in mind. “You surf?” She smiled widely, mentally noting. No wonder he’s so muscular. Taking another bite into their meals. Drew playfully replied “Yup, you don’t? I love it.. it’s super easy once you get the hang of it.. we can have a beach trip or something.” He nervously suggested, still leaning close to her so their conversation was between them. Once Y/N had finished her current portion she softly smiled as she sipped her wine. “That sounds great Drew.. I’d love to.” Drew had a large smile on his face, excitement clear in his tone. “When will you want to go surfing?” He asked, wondering when they could book it in and what date because he really is looking forward to it now they’re talking about it. “Oh, well I’m free this weekend?” Y/N spoke as she neatly placed her cutlery down. “My agent’s on vacation so i don’t really have anything booked.”
The two finish their meal, arranging to meet on Saturday, as the waitress brings the bill soon after clearing their plates. “Shall we go then?” Drew suggested as he pulled out his Waller and counted a few notes to be able to pay the bill. After placing the money on the table he looked at Y/N with a smile, before she protested. “Oh, Drew i can split the bill.” She grabbed her bag from the floor mentally cursing herself for not offering earlier, she was so zoned out in thought she hadn’t even noticed, how shitty of her. “No, I’m paying for it.” Drew smiled kindly, he didn’t mind paying for the bill and he always liked paying for dates, Y/N knows how much he will go out of his way to make the people he loves feel special, he feels kind of bad now and thinks maybe he isn’t making her feel special or doing enough for her, he’ll pay no matter what. “Are you sure? I have money.?” She slightly hesitated, unsure if it was fair. Plus, they were just friends right? “Course.” He gave her a kind gaze, hopping she noticed, wanting her to feel well treated just as if she were a princess, which she was in his eyes . “I should pay for it, don’t even worry about it doll.”
As they leave the restaurant, Y/N tries her best to not let his charming ways get to her so personally as he held the door. “That was nice, it’s really cosy in there.” Dew smiled, it warmed his heart to see her so happy. “I know right? I fucking love this place, I’ll call you a cab to your place.” Y/N smiled. “I can book myself a cab, no worries. But thank you.” She found his thoughtful nature so attractive, whoever ever ended up dating Drew would be a lucky woman. Although she loved being his friend and loved their beneficial occasional, she often wished it was more. But she couldn’t allow herself to think like that, she pulled out her phone to book a cab.
Drew feels content right now, his effect on Y/N was evident as her smile radiated happiness and he was so glad. “Of course, I’m always happy to offer to take care of you.” Y/N felt her cheeks glow pink. “Says it’ll be here any second.. so Saturday right? Beach dat- day.” Correcting herself before she got ahead of her own thoughts. “Yeah Saturday will be great, looking forward to teaching you.. I’ll pick you up around 10?” Y/N agreed before rushing to her taxi door as Drew stood beautifully with his hands in pocket and watched.

Ice Chemist (Alchemist Archetype)
Tumblr media
(art by MagicalKaleidoscope on DeviantArt)
Do we have any Mr. Freeze fans in the audience. (We can all agree he should be called “Dr. Freeze”, right?)
Jokes aside, it’s often easy to assume that alchemists are “mad bombers” or pyromaniacs since they by default get fire-based weaponry as one of their core class features, but what if you don’t want that?
While fire and explosions are certainly very fancy and flashy, the sciences of chilling things, of cryogenics, are also very worthwhile. After all, We all know how refrigeration and freezing revolutionized food preservation, confectionary arts, and even medical science in the real world, so it only makes sense there would be alchemists exploring the applications of such in a fantasy game!
These so-called “ice chemists” Are most well-known for starting with icy cold bombs, but that is just the beginning! Later on they… well… they, um…
Huh. Aside from certain damaging extracts, there aren’t a lot of options directly related to cold in the ice chemist’s arsenals, and even those you have to choose to take as part of your normal spell selection.
Not that I mind such a simple archetype that only changes a little, but I feel like the ice chemist could have used a little expansion, at least being some optional discoveries that let them use their cryogenic arts in interesting ways. But we’ll get into making the most of your ice chemist later on. For now, let’s look at what they can do!
At it’s core, the ice chemist does exactly as promised, changing the base bomb damage to cold, but otherwise functioning as normal bombs except that they don’t count as being frost bombs with their secondary effect at first, learning to use fire bombs counts as a discovery (including not being able to be used alongside other bomb-altering discoveries), and being unable to use the explosive or inferno bomb discoveries.
They also gain an inherent resistance to cold and can comfortably live in extreme cold as their bodies are altered and adapted to function where others would freeze.
And then they learn the frost-bomb discovery, purely to add the bonus effect to their bombs.
As you can see, aside from the resistance and cold damage, there isn’t a whole lot going on here, but it can serve as a good basis for a thematic character. Extracts like detonate, elemental touch, and dragon breath can make them somewhat good at damage dealing. Meanwhile, in keeping with the themes of cold and preservation, the various discoveries based around healing oneself and becoming more resilient through self-mummification are thematic choices. In the end, you can mostly build them like any other alchemist, but hopefully this plants some thematic seeds.
When I made the comparisons to Mr. Freeze earlier, that wasn’t a shallow take. Yes, these chemists alter their bodies to be comfortable well below freezing temperatures, but much like the aforementioned Dr. Victor Fries, there’s a lot of ways you can play such a character, their hearts could be metaphorically frozen, feeling little beyond dispassionate determination. Or they might have a secret, tragic warm spot, or perhaps unhealthy obsession. Or they may buck all of that to be passionate and kind despite being icy cold beings.
An unnatural chill has come to the forest of Arnu’s Sleep. Some suspect the machinations of a winter fey or a white dragon driven by rivals from the north. However the truth is stranger, a mad doctor experimenting with the creation of artificial winter, regardless of the toll it takes on the surrounding region.
For centuries, the lair of Luciana the Frozen has stood as part dungeon, part museum of the icy alchemists many discoveries over her career, even long after her death. Those who brave it will have to contend with ice-encrusted bone golems and other frosty guardians, to say nothing of the alchemist herself, preserved in lich-like immortality with a literal heart of ice.
Unusual for a leshy, Needlebranch enjoys winter more than any other season, and seeks to unlock the secrets of plant life that thrives in winter, from the mundane pines and cedars, to exotic flowers that poke out of mountain snow, and beyond.

Tasuku Takato | [SR] The Hierophant’s Warning | Ritual Time
Tumblr media
Kumon: That prank was really interesting. The person they played it on must’ve been really scared!
Itaru: It does get your heart racing…
Izumi: It was set up really well. The performance put on by the people pulling the prank was really good too.
Tsumugi: I agree. The narrative had me hooked.
Izumi: Ah, Tasuku-san. Good work today.
Tasuku: Same to you.
Itaru: Did you come for a protein drink?
Tasuku: Yeah, just finished working out. What are you all doing gathered here?
Kumon: Watching a prank show!
Tsumugi: You should watch for a bit too, Tasuku.
Tasuku: Nah, those shows aren’t really my sorta thing…
Izumi: But this one is particularly interesting because the pranksters have really well-developed roles.
Tumblr media
Tasuku: …Well, I guess I could watch a bit.
Tsumugi: Ah, they’re just about to start a new prank.
TV: “…Legend has it that this island will sink if an annual ritual isn’t performed.”
Izumi: I see, so they’re convincing the targets they’re interviewing to believe in the story they made up.
Kumon: They’re talking about the ritual and the legend! They’re really selling it!
Itaru: This one looks promising too.
Tasuku: This seems like a pretty unrealistic setup, are they really gonna fall for it?
Izumi: The performances of the actors playing the pranksters are what really sell it.
Tsumugi: You can learn a lot about acting just from watching it.
Tasuku: I guess that’s true…
TV: “The prank is in its final stages. The target is now tied up with rope, just about to be sacrificed by their friends…”
Kumon: The ritual is so cool! The whole atmosphere is making it super believable!
Itaru: New fear unlocked, being tied up in my sleep and waking up to my friends telling me they’re going to sacrifice me.
TV: “Ta-da~! It was a complete success!
Tsumugi: The actor’s performances were just as good this time around.
Izumi: What did you think, Tasuku-san?
Tasuku: It definitely a full-effort performance and it turned out to be a lot funnier than I thought it would be.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Choose!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Option 1: Was there anything particularly interesting about it?
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: Was there anything particularly interesting about it?
Tasuku: Yeah, the lack of emotion in the islanders’ performances was pretty eerie.
Tasuku: I also thought the sacrificial performance was going to be too over the top, but it turned out to have felt really realistic for the situation.
Izumi: Fufu, of course, you’d be watching a prank show from an actor’s perspective, Tasuku-san.
Tasuku: Well, it was inevitable. You were the one that said the pranksters’ performances were interesting in the first place.
Izumi: And they were!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Option 2: See, pranks aren’t that bad after all.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: See, prank shows aren’t that bad after all.
Tasuku: Guess you’re right, maybe I’ll try watching next time one’s on instead of just turning it off.
Tasuku: Still, seems like it takes a lot of time and effort to create situations in the same way the show does.
Izumi: True, even though it’s a prank show, it’s still made up of more than just simple pitfalls and sudden loud noises.
Kumon: I like those sorta things too though! The reactions are always so funny~.
Itaru: Agreed. At the end of the day, simple stuff like that still gets a laugh.
Tasuku: Is that so…?
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Tasuku: Well, I’m gonna head back to my room now.
Izumi: Okay, good night.
*Door closes*
Kumon: That last prank with the ritual was crazy good! I wanna be able to pull off a prank like that.
Itaru: Tying up someone in their sleep and pretending to sacrifice them, it’s def a solid setup.
Tsumugi: But, pulling that sort of thing off in real life seems like quite the challenge…
Izumi: Then how about doing it as an etude?
Kumon: That sounds like a good idea! We could do it as practice!
Itaru: Only thing left to do is find someone who would forgive us for tying them up in their sleep…
Tsumugi: I’ve got an idea of someone who would cooperate for the most part.
Izumi: (I just meant doing a ritual etude in the practice room, are they seriously planning on doing it on someone while they’re asleep…?)
Tumblr media
Kumon: I wonder if there’s any rope in the storage room~.
Itaru: We can do the setup mostly the same as they did it. We’ll be the islanders.
Izumi: (…But, if it’s really someone who’s willing to cooperate as Tsumugi-san said, and it’s just a performance, it should be fine… Right…?)
Tsumugi: Well then, as soon as our target wakes up, that’s when the etude begins.
Izumi: (Well, Tsumugi-san and Itaru-san are involved, so I’m sure they won’t overdo it.)
· • — ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • · · • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • · · • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ — • ·
Tasuku: …Ng.
Tasuku: (Strange, I don’t usually doze off like that. …Huh?)
Tasuku: Why am I tied up…? Gh… What the hell is this…?
Kumon: You’re finally awake.
Itaru: Calm down. The ropes are going to dig into your skin if you struggle.
Tasuku: Just what are you… The hell kinda joke is this--?
Tsumugi: A joke? Hah, what are you talking about!?
Itaru: You’re here because you’re the sacrifice for the island.
Tumblr media
Tasuku: --.
Tasuku: For the island… I don’t understand!
Kumon: Allow us to explain the circumstances.
Tsumugi: If we don’t make a sacrifice here, the island will sink and everyone aside from you will die.
Itaru: But if you sacrifice yourself, the island won’t sink for the next several years and all the islanders will be saved.
Tasuku: Why is that…
Kumon: If you want someone to resent, you should resent your own family, they’ve been long aware of your power to save the island!
Tasuku: Gh…
Tsumugi: Come now, it’s time to hear your answer. Your life or the lives of all the islanders?
Tasuku: …
Tasuku: If I sacrifice myself, here and now, the island will be saved for a while.
Tasuku: But that won’t change anything. You’re just going to need another sacrifice at some point.
Itaru: What?
Tasuku: So I’m going to find a way around this. I’m not just gonna lie down and do as you say!
Kumon: I see. So that’s your final answer?
Itaru: We didn’t foresee this answer… What to do now?
Tsumugi: …I’ll give you three days' time. If there really is such thing as a “way around” as you say, find it within that time.
Tsumugi: However, if you are unable to do it in three days… You will be sacrificed as originally planned.
Tasuku: …Hah, three days is more than enough time. I’ll definitely find a way!
Kumon: …Yeah! And, scene~!
Tasuku: …Haah, what the hell was all that so suddenly?
Tsumugi: Sorry, sorry. I figured if there was anyone who’d go along with this sort of etude, it’d be you, Tasuku.
Itaru: Thanks to you dozing off, we had a pretty fun etude. Thanks for playing along, Tasuku.
Tumblr media
Kumon: You were so cool, Tasuku-san! Just like a shonen manga protagonist!
Tasuku: Well, it’s not like I get that many opportunities to be part of an etude while in my sleep for a part of it, so it was an interesting experience in a way…
Tasuku: …But, can you please untie me now?
Kumon: Waah! Sorry! Here, all untied now!
Tasuku: Thanks.
Kazunari: Oh, I am SO looking…
Tumblr media
Itaru: …Hm?
Tasuku: Oi, Miyoshi. What are you lurking in the doorway for?
Kazunari: Ah, you found me!
Tasuku: How could I find you when you weren’t even hiding in the first place?
Kazunari: Ahaha, everyone sounded like they were having so much fun, so I couldn’t help but take a little looksies~.
Tsumugi: Fufu, thanks for watching the performance, Kazu-kun.
Tasuku: …Hey, why do you have your camera out? Were you recording us?
Kumon: Eh, Kazu-san was recording us just now!?
Kazunari: ‘Course! Couldn’t miss out on snagging some premium content ♪
Tasuku: Tch… Don’t post that anywhere or anything.
Kazunari: What~!? But I thought it was soooo good~.
Tasuku: Of course, you’d say that…
Kumon: Tasuku-san, if you don’t mind, I wanna do another etude like this with you again!
Kumon: Ah, and we won’t tie you up next time or anything!
Tasuku: Sure, let’s do it.

Brain Curd #117
Brain Curds are lightly edited flash fiction - practically first drafts - posted daily (haven't missed one yet!) and sometimes written with the express intention of being terrible… but, you know, in an endearing way. Please like and reblog if you enjoy - the notes keep me going!
He's gonna be Frank with you. Read the rest of The Frank Program here on Tumblr!
“Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, this is The Frank Program. I’m Frank -”
“- and I’m Big Mike. Today’s guest is the most popular streamer on all of Twitch.TV, here in the studio we have Mr. Hellspawn!”
“How’s it going?” Hellspawn spoke softly into his microphone.
“Uh…” Frank shuffled through his notes, which Mike had prepared for him. “Wasn’t I supposed to ask you that?”
Mike patted him on the back. “Don’t worry about that, Frankie. Anyway, Mr. Hellspawn, why don’t you tell us a little about what you do for the listeners who aren’t aware?”
“Sure thing, Mike. My job is a little hard to explain, but I’ll start at the beginning. When I first started streaming, the hot thing to do was to play videogames. People want to see other people play games because it’s a social activity, at least originally, but on Twitch, it’s different. We don’t really know each other, we’re not really friends, but instead it’s more like a substitute for that. That’s why I really blew up about four years ago. Everyone was stuck inside, nowhere to go, nothing to do. They wanted some company.”
“So, uh, what makes you special, then?” Frank asked.
“If you ask me, I think I just got lucky. But I guess people liked my specific way of interacting with the audience. I’d say, ‘chat, help me out here, should I go down this tunnel or cross this bridge?’ and, you know, they’d vote on it basically.”
“That doesn’t seem so hard to understand.”
“Sure, but now it’s a little different. Instead of mostly playing games and talking to the audience here and there, people seem not to want me to play games so much anymore. I always give them the option, but whenever I put it up to a vote, my subs just want to see me doing normal everyday stuff. I’ve got cameras set up all over my house. Game room, kitchen, bedroom…”
“Bedroom?”
“Some of my fans pay for a little extra, if you catch my drift.”
Frank’s eyes popped wide open. “You’re a prostitute?!?”
“Hey, hey, hey…” Mike chuckled nervously. “How about we don’t go there, Frank?”
Frank was indignant. “It’s a simple question!”
“Yeah, no, that’s fine, guys. It’s basically an after-dark stream that costs money to watch. I don’t have sex with anyone for money.”
Frank glared at Mike. “See? It was a good question!”
“I only get a little naked. A little. But more people like to watch me cook and just chat about life. It’s kind of meditative for me, you know? I’ve got my Hell Squad over for dinner every night. And they’re happy to send me money to keep the whole thing going. I haven’t worked a traditional job since 2019, so I can spend all my time on this. Five days a week, dawn to dusk.”
“So, tell me Mr. Hellspawn, where did you come up with that name?”
“Not a lot of people know this, but I’ve had that name since kindergarten. I was a real troublemaker as a kid, and my father would always call me Mr. Hellspawn whenever I did anything he didn’t like. I don’t really talk to him anymore, but that name has stuck with me. I wear it as a badge of honor. Barely anyone in my life calls me by my legal name… which I guess he also gave me.”
Frank looked over at the empty corner. “You… don’t talk to your father anymore?”
“No, not at all. We were never very close at the best of times. He kicked me out when I was fifteen and we haven’t spoken since.”
“I’m sorry to hear that.”
“It doesn’t really bother me anymore, to be honest. He used to haunt my dreams, but… Now, I don’t think I can even remember his face.”
Frank’s hands shook. He gripped the microphone stand to keep them stationary.
Mike cleared his throat to break the dead air. “What are some of your favorite moments from your livestream?”
Hellspawn chuckled. “I think that might be when I tried making veal schnitzel from scratch. I ended up breading my hand by mistake, and the chat just kept saying, ‘glove hand! Glove hand!’ It’s become one of many inside jokes with my community.”
“And how was the schnitzel?”
“Oh, it was terrible. I had no idea what I was doing. It was like a piece of shoe leather with burnt grease on the outside. I had to order takeout.”
Frank breathed heavily. “I have to go.”
Mike was confused. “Buddy, we just got started! Do you always end your shows early?”
“I just… I can’t…”
“We can take a break -”
“No, no, no! I need to get out of here!”
“Fine! I’ll finish the damn show. I’m doing most of the work anyway. Do your closing line before you leave.”
“I… I’ve been The Frank Program. Thank you - Thank you for letting me be…” he made eye contact with Hellspawn and panicked. He quickly ran out of the studio and slammed the door.

Character Analysis: Alchemy
Please finish reading Chapter 27 before you continue!
Alchemy wants nothing but the safety of everyone in the Omega Timeline and the multiverse. He is a leader, and he takes his position very seriously. He always seeks to make the most moral decisions.
Alchemy. Reapertale!Gaster. God of Magic. Father of Reapertale!Skelebros. “Epic supreme leader of the whole entire multiverse”. And arguably the single most hated individual in TCOTI (by fans).
So if he is such a good person… why does he let those objectively-immoral things happen to Error? Why is it so hard for the readers to like him? To trust him?
I would argue that it is because as powerful as he is, he has a lot of weaknesses. And ironically enough, ALL of his weaknesses are caused because he is a good leader who takes his responsibilities very seriously.
Alchemy is hated the same way presidents are hated. He is in a position where even the best-meaning decisions may result in tragedies. And that’s the starting point of all his weaknesses.
[Weakness 1: With great power…]
Alchemy is powerful and knowledgeable. People trust him to make the right decisions. A lot of people. Practically the entire multiverse. This leads him to be extremely self-conscious of the impact his actions have on the people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that was the exact reason he could not even consider reforming Error. And that was the reason he could not stop the experiments and eventual euthanasia on Error.
As frustrating as it is for readers to watch him just not take any actions, it is extremely difficult, nearly impossible for him to make any move when it comes to Error.
But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t conflicted. And Alchemy probably went through a lot of moral dilemmas and inner conflicts too. We unfortunately don’t have enough inner dialogues from Alchemy to see what exactly he went through.
But we do from Dream. And Dream’s behaviors are a perfect explanation to why Alchemy didn’t, couldn’t, do anything in regards to Error’s treatment.
Right after Error gets captured, Dream spends half of chapter 5 contemplating on his decision. No matter how hard he tries to convince himself that this was the right thing to do, he can’t help but feel guilty. Dream is not naive, and he knows that not everyone is completely in the right or the wrong.
But when it came to Error, this guy looked like an exception. He murders millions of lives for his own crazy logic. And he actively enjoys it. He refuses to talk or bargain. And Dream probably spent a couple of centuries believing that Error was not redeemable. Not this guy.
And after all those years, he finally gets captured… while napping under a tree. He cries during his trial. And he was feeling love. Not the picture of the one person who he thought was undoubtedly evil.
Which would have acted as a painful reminder that things just aren’t simple, no matter how much he wishes for them to be simple.
But he doesn’t do anything about it. He can’t.
When neither of the given options is perfectly harmless and good, it is incredibly difficult to make an action to change what’s given. Because you would personally be held responsible for your actions. And you would be guilty of the consequences.
Hence you choose not to do anything.
Tumblr media
This is a famous dilemma on ethics called “The Trolley Problem.” A trolley is about to hit and kill all 5 people tied on the rack, and you can only save them by diverting the trolley to kill only 1 person.
It is in every way a sensical and moral decision to divert the trolley and kill the single person. However, many people hesitate to make the decision. Because your action resulted in the death of one person, and no matter how justified your action is, you can’t help but feel guilty.
In TCOTI, just like real life, everyone is not completely right or wrong. The happiness of one may result in the despair of others. As a leader and an authoritative figure, Alchemy would face these kinds of dilemmas on a daily basis. On a multiversal level, too.
So he would be considerate, or rather hesitant on making any kind of decisions. Just like one would be hesitant on killing one person to save 5.
[Weakness 2: Objectivity and lack of self-driven motives]
Alchemy is very responsible and takes his job as a leader seriously. He is very considerate, too considerate of the opinions of everyone else that he doesn’t, can’t, let his personal emotions and desires drive his actions.
And this becomes his another weakness and yet another reason for his inactions.
Let’s get back to that trolley problem. Except this time, The one person on the first track is your best friend. And the 5 other people are total strangers.
Tumblr media
I don’t doubt that in this scenario, most people would choose to let the trolley hit the 5 strangers. Heck, many people would even actively move the trolley to let the strangers die.
When it comes to making a decision, emotions easily surpass morals.
In fact, Dream, again, showed a perfect example. It was not his ethical dilemmas and inner conflicts that finally led him to get up and actively search for Ink and Error.
No. It was the fact that Ink was in love with Error. An incredibly personal and emotion-driven motive. But that alone got him to make the biggest move he ever has made after 26 chapters.
Now back to Alchemy. He shows a significant lack of emotional connections with anyone in the story.
And this is likely because he intentionally stopped himself from forming close bonds with others. Because that would let him be biased and subjective. Such are not desirable traits of a leader.
But unlike him, most people are driven by their own emotions and selfish desires. His own idea of a “good leader” prevents him from fully understanding other peoples’ motives and also from seeing multiple sides of the stories. Ironically enough, his own sense of responsibility greatly limits his worldview and insight.
Tumblr media
And that was perhaps why he didn’t see the signs of Foreign’s betrayal.
[Weakness 3: Lack of emotional connections with others]
All the previous weaknesses prevent Alchemy from forming emotional bonds with anyone around him. It is not a coincidence that he never shows personal, casual, not-job-related interactions with anyone in the story. Not even with his own son.
And I’m pretty sure that lack of bonds will backfire on him. Especially when it comes to Reaper. (Whom I have an entire set of new theories to speculate on.)
Summary:
Alchemy is an incredibly responsible and objective individual. He is a leader of a huge group of people, and he takes his position very seriously. However, it is ironically his own idea of being a good leader that causes all his weaknesses and ends in his failures.
And considering how tragic this story can get, these weaknesses of his will likely not end in a good scenario.
How? Well I don’t know! I’m merely a fan who tries her best! :D

I agree with your tags on that rb btw angel!! I don’t shame anyone’s decision to have a kid. Hell, every mother in my family except for one has had at least two kids before 22. And that’s fine!! I think at least for me my gripe is the social media aspect of it. So much of the content coming from family vloggers / family tiktokers is making profit off of children without the kids consent or even having children for the sake of views… or putting kids personal info / medical info out there… and I do feel like a lot of what we see paints a certain lifestyle that statistically is unattainable for most young families (unless they convert to Mormonism akdjskdj that’s a whole other topic) idk something about the social media aspects of it rubs me the wrong way in a “Christian fascism conspiracy” kinda way LOL.
But I did see some tags on that post that are just shaming young families and that’s just not right.
- aleks
for context, i deleted a reblog to this tumblr post here but i will share the tags of that post under the cut since i took a screenshot of them then deleted the post after i got this ask
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i definitely didn’t mean to imply that you didn’t agree with my tags. my problems with the post were honestly from other people who reblogged it, not with that you said in particular /lh
i agree with you on your points in regards to the social media aspect of it all and the harmful effects of “influencers” showboating their children online for views/interactions. i think it’s very weird…to say the least.
obviously this is a lot more nuanced than a simple brush stroke of, “it’s all bad or it all isn’t”. there’s a million and one factors and a million and one scenarios to each individual situation and that’s why it can be difficult to articulate points on a particular situation, especially on social media.
i do think the people on social media who paint staying at home and having kids as something that should be ideal for every “woman” and romanticize it as well are also harmful. especially if said people making these posts are earning an exuberant amount of $$$, when that’s not the case for most people today.
(i don’t want to be negligent of the fact that women aren’t the only gender who can and do give birth but often times when consuming media where these social norms are praised, cis women are often the target audience specifically although these social norms do effect all people who can give birth)
social media heavily influences people, i definitely won’t deny that.
there are people and institutions in place that are abusive and preach/push this rhetoric that staying at home and raising a family while still being young is the most fulfilling/best/only option one can have. i don’t want to take away from anyone’s experience from the harm that’s caused.
i am very much a proponent of educating people on sex, birth control, pregnancy, financial independence/literacy because unfortunately, some of these stay at home moms/wives/girlfriends are put in abusive situations and have nothing to fall back on to help themselves rebuild their life.
I GET that is the point with a lot of posts like the one i initially reblogged are ultimately saying.
I GET that they’re criticizing world views that have kept women in an oppressed position for so long.
(not to say that they aren’t still oppressed in today’s society but hopefully you (general) get what i mean with my point)
my biggest biggest problem with all these posts is that they don’t critique the harmful institutions that create scenarios where domestic violence/misogyny/ general harm may arise, they just broadly critique all young parents (and mothers especially).
that’s truly my main issue with it all. not every young parent was forced to have children and to imply that the only “valid” (for lack of a better term) reason for people to have children that young is if they were in a position where they were forced to is also…wrong.
my mom had me when she was in her teens (later teens but still) she wasn’t forced or coerced into choosing to keep me, does that then make her decision “wrong” or make her a shameful person for choosing to keep me? even though she was young? and “didn’t have a future” like so many people in the reblogs love to say. i should surely hope not.
not everyone’s life stories look the same. i too wanted kids. back when i was eighteen i genuinely thought my future was going to contain three little kiddos and a husband. it was only little over a year ago, that i realized that wasn’t really the life i wanted to have, at least for the time being (granted, the time gap between 18-21 isn’t really a large one). me choosing to not pursue a life with children does not make me a better or worse person and that’s the root of what i think all these posts are about.
“you’re inherently wrong and bad for choosing to have kids at a young age” except now it’s repackaged to seem more feminist than before when really, it’s the same exact branding of shame that teen moms have been getting for years and it’s that same shame that prevents people from reaching out and getting the resources they need.
it doesn’t matter what my personal views on teen/young adult pregnancy are because there are always going to be young parents regardless of the amount of education we give them. some people just want to have kids at a young age and that doesn’t make them inherently bad people.
if people who make posts like that want to critique trad wife culture, christian conservatism (which is indeed a whole other can of worms), other systems in place that take advantage of vulnerable girls/women and force them into give birth at a young age, i’m all for it. i just wish they wouldn’t go about it in the most obtuse way possible because then you get a thousand people in the tags being like “i feel sorry for my friend who’s having a kid” “you’re young and stupid too why bring a kid in this world”
the shame that these posts create and endorse is what i have a problem with, not the actual message behind it.
ANYWAY, this was all very long winded but i wanted to make sure i got out everything i wanted to say. also this was more of a general post on my whole thoughts on the matter, not specifically to you aleks /lh
i never meant to imply that you held the beliefs that i was criticizing in that initial reblog and i apologize if it came across like i was.

Whether you’re traveling when lots of people are on the road or when it’s quieter, knowing the best time to book is a smart tip that can make your journey much smoother.
Peak Hours vs. Off-Peak Hours
Busy Times (Peak Hours):
Think of the times when most people are going to or coming back from work. This is usually early in the morning (around 7 AM to 9 AM) and again in the late afternoon and early evening (around 5 PM to 8 PM) on weekdays (Monday to Friday).
If you book a ride during these busy times, it might be a little more expensive because lots of people need cars. But, booking your car in advance is a great idea! It means you’ll definitely have a ride when public transport might be crowded or delayed.
Quieter Times (Off-Peak Hours):
These are the times when there aren’t as many people traveling. This is often in the middle of the morning (around 10 AM to 12 PM) and in the early afternoon (around 1 PM to 3 PM) on weekdays, as well as later in the evening (after 8 PM).
Traveling during these quieter times usually means less traffic. So, your ride will probably be faster and more comfortable. Some people even find that drivers can take easier routes when it’s not so busy, making the trip even smoother!
Insider Tip: Advanced Booking
One of the best insider tips is to book your car lift at least a few days in advance whenever possible. Advanced bookings not only secure a spot during busy periods but also often come with better pricing options. In today’s fast-paced world, planning ahead shows that you value your time and money.
Booking early is super helpful when it’s extra busy, like during holidays, special events, or even just the usual morning and evening rush. Are Apples Good for Diabetics? The Sweet Truth
Tumblr media
Dealing with diabetes often brings up lots of questions about food, especially fruit. You might wonder, "Are apples okay to eat if I have diabetes?" It's a common concern, given that apples contain natural sugars. The short answer is yes, apples can absolutely be part of a healthy eating plan for diabetics, but like most things, it's all about how you include them. Understanding are apples good for diabetics means looking at the whole picture – the sugars, the fiber, and the best ways to enjoy this popular fruit without causing unwanted blood sugar spikes. Let's break down the facts in a simple way.
Key Takeaways
- Apples are packed with fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants that offer health benefits for people with diabetes. - Eating apples in moderation is important to manage their impact on blood sugar. - Choosing the whole apple with the skin is much better than drinking apple juice or eating sweetened applesauce. - Pairing apples with a source of protein or healthy fat can help slow down sugar absorption. - Always pay attention to how your own body responds to apples by checking your blood sugar levels.
Understanding Apples and Blood Sugar
When you have diabetes, managing your blood sugar is a top priority. So, how do apples fit in? Apples contain carbohydrates, primarily in the form of natural sugars like fructose. Carbs are what affect your blood sugar the most. But, hold on, it's not quite that simple! Apples also contain fiber, and this is where things get interesting. The fiber in apples actually slows down how quickly your body digests the carbohydrates and absorbs the sugar into your bloodstream. This means apples generally don't cause a rapid spike in blood sugar like sugary drinks or low-fiber snacks might. To measure this effect, experts use the Glycemic Index (GI) and Glycemic Load (GL). - Glycemic Index (GI): This ranks foods based on how quickly they raise blood sugar levels compared to pure glucose. Foods with a low GI (55 or less) are usually better choices for diabetes management. - Glycemic Load (GL): This considers both the GI and the amount of carbohydrates in a typical serving. A low GL is 10 or less. Most apples fall into the low GI (around 36-39) and low GL categories, making them a generally safe fruit choice. You can find more details on the GI of various foods from reliable sources like the University of Sydney's GI database. The fiber content is a big reason why apples are good for diabetics when eaten correctly. Keep in mind that factors like ripeness and the specific apple variety can slightly alter these values, but overall, they remain a sensible option.
Why Apples Can Be Good for Diabetics
Beyond their moderate impact on blood sugar, apples bring several health benefits to the table, which are especially helpful for individuals managing diabetes. Packed with Fiber (Soluble and Insoluble) We mentioned fiber helps slow sugar absorption, but its benefits don't stop there. Apples are a great source of both soluble and insoluble fiber. - Soluble fiber dissolves in water and forms a gel-like substance. This helps lower blood sugar levels and can also help reduce LDL ("bad") cholesterol – a bonus for heart health, which is crucial for diabetics. - Insoluble fiber doesn't dissolve. It adds bulk to your stool, promoting regular bowel movements and preventing constipation. Getting enough fiber also helps you feel full longer, which can aid in weight management – often a key part of managing type 2 diabetes. Rich in Nutrients and Antioxidants Apples aren't just fiber and sugar; they deliver important vitamins and minerals too. They contain Vitamin C, important for immune function, and potassium, which plays a role in blood pressure regulation. Furthermore, apples are loaded with powerful plant compounds called antioxidants, particularly polyphenols like quercetin. Antioxidants fight harmful molecules called free radicals in your body. Research suggests these compounds might: - Improve insulin sensitivity (how well your cells respond to insulin). - Reduce inflammation throughout the body. - Protect the cells in your pancreas that produce insulin. These actions can contribute positively to overall diabetes management. Heart Health Connection People with diabetes have a higher risk of developing heart disease. The good news? The fiber (especially soluble fiber) and antioxidants found in apples can contribute to better heart health by helping to manage cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Including heart-healthy foods like apples is a smart move for overall well-being.
Smart Ways for Diabetics to Eat Apples
Okay, so apples have benefits, but how should you eat them to keep blood sugar in check? It comes down to a few simple strategies. Portion Size is Key This is probably the most important rule. While apples are healthy, eating too much at once can still raise your blood sugar more than you'd like. - Stick to one small or medium-sized apple per serving. Think about the size of a tennis ball. - A medium apple contains roughly 15-20 grams of carbohydrates, which fits well into most diabetic meal plans as one carb serving. - If you practice carb counting, factor this into your meal or snack total. Eat the Whole Fruit (Skin On!) Don't peel your apple! Much of the fiber and many valuable antioxidants are concentrated in or just beneath the skin. Eating the whole fruit ensures you get all the good stuff. Contrast this with apple juice or sweetened applesauce: - Apple juice is basically concentrated apple sugar with most (if not all) of the fiber removed. It can cause a very rapid blood sugar spike. - Applesauce can be okay if it's unsweetened, but it still has less fiber than a whole apple because the processing breaks it down. Always check labels for added sugars. FeatureWhole Medium AppleApple Juice (8 oz Unsweetened)Unsweetened Applesauce (1/2 cup)FiberGood Source (~4g)Minimal ( Read the full article

What is a Driving Crash Course?
Tumblr media
Driving Crash course
As adults, we need to learn many things, including driving. So most people have found of sitting in the driving seat that’s why they want to learn to drive. But most of them eagerly want to get a license, so they want to complete their course as soon as possible. As you know, many possible ways to fulfill their desire exist. In other words, that’s what a driving crash course is all about. So if you’re interested in learning more about it, you’ll get a whole idea in the next few minutes.
What is a Driving Crash Course?
You may hear about the driving crash course but didn’t get the whole idea about what this course is about. But nothing can be hidden from you in today’s world. So let me tell you this it’s a driving course you can complete in a shorter time frame. In other words, this course will make you a specialist in that area. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who has more established with their skills. In other words, passing a driving test and getting a license is an excellent option. No doubt you’ve practiced some intensive training to make you unable to get hands-on experience.
Advantages of Driving Crash Course
A crash driving course has many advantages, but you may know a few. So in this heading, we’ll talk about the benefits of a crash driving course. Because in this course you’ll get too much value from the trainers who teach you more exciting lessons. In other words, taking this course will help you achieve great success in that area. Similarly, driving instructors spend more time with you than just being busy with useless activities. Because they know you’ve less time to pass your exam. But you’ve to join more reputable institutes to clear your exam. In other words, you’ve less time to complete all the tasks, and if you’re an average driving instructor, you’ll automatically fall. So don’t ignore this fact the more you spend on getting suitable courses automatically, the right person you’ll become. Always choose the right trainer and a good mentor to learn from, and that’s how you’ll get the license quickly.
Consequences of Taking a Driving Crash Course
Everything has its pros and cons when it comes to learning anything. With this fast-moving time frame, we try to test things that take less time and produce more results. For example, many people are trying other intensive exercises to get faster results. Similarly, crash driving courses are something that in the testing procedure to reduce the timeframe of learning a driving skill. No doubt beginners take more time to adopt anything, but that doesn’t matter. Many people are short on time, so their primary purpose is to complete the course as soon as possible. So in these courses driving, instructors spend more time with their students to teach them in the best possible way. Moving from scratch isn’t easy and a little scary sometimes but things have changed. In our view, if you’ve some time, we don’t recommend you to join a crash driving course. Because it has different consequences and standard courses are always considered a better option.
What are Some Ways that Improvised the Driving Crash Course?
When it comes to the crash driving course then, a lot of things are improvised and speed up. But many other proven methods can be used to help you pass your test. The simple meaning of a driving crash course is you’re going to pass your test in the shortest time possible. So the first way that helped many students was driving without watching time. When we said that, you’ve to spend some extra hours learning the art of driving rather than just taking classes. Similarly, you’ve to be more organized and do all those things that standard course takers aren’t will do. Because the significant difference between you and them is time. You don’t need to rely on simple methods of learning. You need to ask more questions and approach the mentor to spend extra time with you. In other words, too many different ways can help crash-driving courses stand out from the traditional ones.
Conclusion
I hope now you’ll get a better idea about the crash driving course and what are the pros & cons of this course. Similarly, if you want to be part of this type of training, this article will highlight your essential points. Everything seems very easy when you just see from the eyes and have thought about it. But when you start putting down the effort into it then you feel nothing is easy nothing is free. So I think you’ll get the idea of what I’m trying to say and make sure you’ll keep your eyes on it.

Pinned Down
“Will! Will! Can you hear me, Will!”
“Ah, ow, ugh. Magnus?” Will opened his eyes and looked up into her terrified eyes. She was clutching his shoulder, looking unusually shaken. That was the first thing he noticed. The second was the burning pain his leg was in. He looked down to see it pinned underneath what looked like a mountain of rock. Magnus tried to smile optimistically at him, but it didn’t really come across.
“Any bright ideas?” Will asked.
“Well, we could try and shift some of the rock, but I don’t know how much is on top of you. We were over by the entrance to the cave, and now there is no entrance to the cave. It could be as simple as a shift-able amount or….”
“Or a heaping mountain that could collapse on top of us as soon as we start making too much movement. Great.”
Magnus shrugged. “You’re the one that it will fall on. What do you want to do?”
He looked up at it and then at her. They didn’t really have a lot of options, and she’d never leave him to go find another entrance. They’d both just wither and die, waiting for help to arrive.
Well, at least if the rocks did kill him, it’d probably be over quickly.
“Let’s move some of these and see how it goes.”
“There you go. Never one to shy away from danger or fear. Let me inspect it and see what the best place to start is.”
Will nodded in agreement. Hopefully, that would get her a better idea if the whole thing was going to come crashing down on them.
She stood and started to mess around with some of the rocks. He watched, unable to do anything but lie there and hope she could find a way out of this mess. He heard a scraping noise from above, and Magnus reentered his field of vision with a piece of rock.
“I think it’s stable enough to dig you out, but it’s going to be a long process.”
Will snorted. “Yeah, no kidding. Take your time. The last thing we want is for it to come crashing down on me.”
Magnus grinned teasingly. “Not true. I think the last thing we want is for the Quetzalcoatl to come back.”
“Well, aren’t you just the life of the party.”
She continued to move debris, shifting it one piece at a time.
“Hey, Magnus?”
“Yes, Will?” She turned all of her attention to him.
“Is there any water in the stuff you found?”
“No, but there might be some around the cave. Would you like me to go look?”
He nodded. “Right now, I think dehydration is not a good idea.”
“I’ll only be a few minutes.”
When Magnus stepped out of his sight, Will was alone. It was an odd feeling because she could’ve been six feet away, and he wouldn’t be able to tell. He barely resisted the urge to shudder at the feeling. Even though he knew he could call for help and have her there in a few seconds, he still felt very alone in this place.
Will counted his breaths and waited for her to return. Finally, she reentered his field of vision and knelt down.
“Here, I found a spring of fresh water, so at least we won’t die of dehydration. Have a little.”
Will took several sips of it and sighed as his thirst was quenched. It might have been his imagination, but he also felt a little better in general. It was probably just an effect of finally having something to drink.
Magnus continued to shift rocks off him, and Will began to noticeably feel the weight on him lessening. That helped bolster his energy and confidence that they might actually get out of this one alive.
The scraping and rhythmic movements stopped, and Magnus settled next to him.
“You okay?”
She drank from the water bottle and offered him some as well. He wasn’t really thirsty, but he took some anyway.
“Yeah, it’s just tiring. Although, normally, I’d have needed to take a break much earlier than now.”
“It’s probably adrenaline coursing through your system. Making you feel like you could do anything.”
She grinned at him, delighted. “So, you do listen when I drone on about physiology.”
He smiled at her. “By now, Magnus, you should know that I always listen when you talk.” He shifted and winced when pain coursed through him. He was tired of being stuck and ready to be out.
She frowned and moved closer, inspecting where he was pinned. “We really need to get you out as soon as possible. I’m worried about crush injuries. How are you feeling?”
He knew that wasn’t a surface-level question, so he took a moment to assess himself. He realized with a start he actually felt okay.
“I feel fine?”
Magnus frowned. “Will, come on.”
“No, I mean it. I’m very confused. I should be in a lot of pain, but I’m not.”
Magnus frowned and continued to move the rocks off him. As she got closer to digging him out, he realized that she shouldn’t have been capable of that kind of physical labor so quickly. She was moving like a machine, not needing to stop or rest. While adrenaline could explain some of it, it couldn’t explain all of it.
“Hey, Magnus, are your arms tired?”
She didn’t stop pulling rocks off him, but she frowned and considered. She was nearing the end now. “No, they aren’t. I…shouldn’t be able to do this. So, whatever is making you feel fine is also making me strong enough to just plow through all of this.” She pulled off the last of the debris, and he was finally free.
Magnus helped pull Will to his feet, and she inspected him with a keen eye.
“You really should be more badly hurt.”
“And you really should be more winded. Yet, here we are. So, what’s causing it?”
Magnus frowned and held up the water bottle. “The only thing we’ve shared beyond our surroundings is this.”
