stargate sg-1 is sooo funny to me because on the surface it's a perfectly normal and average sci-fi fantasy team; you have the super cool astrophyscist lady who can kick ass AND read numbers (probably at the same time) the nerdy history guy who is very nerdy, the cool and hardened military man (tm) and the enemy-turned friend who is also a powerful warrior

AND THEN you squint below the surface and it's an absolute batshit insane line up:

Cool astrophyscist lady? Struggling to find her way in a male dominated workplace and find that balance (also so far the most cool and collected and put together of the bunch)

Nerdy history guy? Really fucking nerdy and basically just joined this team to try and find his wife and semi adopted son that is heavily implied to have been also semi adopted by:

Cool and hardened military Man (tm) who is in a MESSY situationship and may *or may not be* divorced from his ex-wife, still mourns his lost son from something he feels is his fault, women throw themselves at him and he carefully rejects them until boom... drugged???!!!! DRUGGED???!!! This man gets sexually harassed so many times 🤨 Also he basically helps win over Enemy-turned friend who is also a powerful warrior through the power of... uhm *checks notes* watches and friendship i guess

Said enemy turned friend who is powerful warrior is a #girlboss extraordinare ?! He is *pregnant* with the fetal larvae from his enslavers?! And literally cannot live without it (?) and was also a very powerful warrior for said godly enslavers who probably commited many atrocities, but but! He has a wife and son too (and argueable the wife is far cooler than him) and its just crazzzyyy

ALSO! You would think this team would be *good* at what they do given they are the main characters BUT they are absolute *dogshit* they end up blowing up pretty much anything that could be useful to them and its HILARIOUS they are a *fail* team

Well on the plus side you can get a license as young as 14 in some states, which absolutely has never caused any problems or any children to die in horrible car accidents (sarcasm).

Also we increased the age to purchase tobacco from 18 to 21

it's so insane the american drinking age is 21 what a backwards country. if you're going to make kids go into $100k worth of debt to pay for for uni or else serve in the military at 18 the very least you can do is let them drink to cope with it

Introduction

I made this blog to have a catalogue for Eye Trauma incidents in the media I watch. A bunch of people I know are either squicked out by it or have it as a genuine trigger, and I figured it'd be good to have a dedicated place for people to have a quick and easy to reference guide on what series have it, where it is, how bad it is, other things of that nature. Posts will be tagged as the series, the medium (new posts will be made for different adaptations so as to not over-bloat a singular post), "eye trauma discussion" and "eye trauma timestamps". The posts will not go into overt detail, but will describe if its graphic, on screen or implied, how long it lasts, if its serious or played for comedy, recipient type, things of that nature. If I miss anything, please send me an ask, this is meant to be a resource. My primary focus is going to be anime + manga, video games, and indie comics as those are what I engage with most. Listen, Haven is objectively better if you have the ability to watch an entire season over the course is two days (and the last two seasons are a bit of a disaster)

And trust me, when we watched her evil dad step out and it was Captain Kirk, my eyes (and my mom's) almost popped out of our heads.

William Shatner is, by no means, an amazing actor. But something about the way he played this character (and the end!) just rewired my brain in a way that I was not expecting. Hearkening back to my earliest memories of watching TOS.

2025 & I'm talking about an old sci-fi show. Haven. Before the network became SYFY, & before you needed a subscription to watch it—Syfy would throw out interesting shows but then would change their schedules so you never could finish them. (unless you bought the videos/dvds which idk if they were even a thing back then)

Story: a while ago, i found & started rewatching Haven. its currently free (except for one season) on Amazon.
