Something something something the dreams where Celia dances with Josh at a masquerade ball and he is wearing a mask and she can’t recognize him is a metaphor for the way he’s hiding himself and his feelings from her

10H
Your father, your boss, your mentor, your manager, people of authority, your parents (father in particular), influential figures you look up to, e.g your fave celebrities, government, politicians, your PR team, your publishers, you as a role model, your admirers like the people who look up to you, influencers, your business, icons
10H association with self-image and reputation and classic Saturn authority would include those who are involved in those themes
11H
Friends, peers. Social activists, humanitarians, philanthropists, inventors, forecasters, visionaries, leaders, community organisers, trendsetters
different from 3H in the sense that with 11H friends, you actually share the same goals and interests in mind whereas with 3H it’s mostly an exchange of communication about these parts of yourself and they are less as significant in your social life compared to 11H type of friends
12H
Spiritual beings, your religion, spiritual forces, your subconscious mind, artists, creative people, writers, hospital patients, prisoners, monks, religious people, volunteers, dreamers, charities.
12H represents those that can derive what is within their inner secluded world and bring it into reality. It’s associated with empathy, mental/spiritual state, seclusion and the bed. The people here would be those that would retreat, help others and tap into realms beyond the physical)

▹ Jeff the Killer Headcanons
Basic NSFW & SFW headcanons of my favorite creep! I’m so sorry I’ve been out for so long, I’ll try to post more!
Warnings: kidnapping, murder, nsfw content
Disclaimer: Everyone is welcome on my page and I will not turn you away. However, it is your fault if you’re uncomfortable or peeved with my writing because I give multiple warnings prior to my content. thanks!
Appearance
⇀ I will not lie and say I grew up seeing Jeff as an accurate representation of what a burn victim would look like. I grew up with the skinny anime looking boy that most of us know as “Jeff the Killer”. Here are a few ways that I see Jeff different than how I used to see him when I was younger.
⇀ I honestly see him standing at around 5’7-5’9. I don’t expect him to be super tall like LJ, but not super short like BEN.
⇀ His skin is less of a white pigment and more pink since his skin has been burnt off and exposed. His skin has healed over time, making it look more like shitty patchwork over what a good recovery should look like.
⇀ I doubt he’d have hair but for the sake of fan service, if he did, it would probably be greasy. If he’s not living at the Wisconsin Sanctum for Wayward Boys (slendermansion) he’s not able to shower so he’d look dirty. No shower = no washing hair = greasy hair, scalp buildup and hair loss. In reality, Jeff would looked chopped AF.
⇀ His style hasn’t changed much from when he was 13. White hoodie and his black dress pants. He wears what’s practical and what he can get his hands on. If he did take the time to actually find clothing he approves of, I’d see him mostly being into something edgy.
⇀ Would have piercings but it would hurt like a bitch because his skin and tissues didn’t heal normally. He doesn’t mind because he likes the pain.
⇀ His glasgow smile heals overtime and he doesn’t mind it, but will occasionally carve it back open if he feels like it since it’s his signature look.
Personality
⇀ Edgelord.
⇀ People may say this is overdone, but I also see him as an arrogant asshole. There’s just something about him that screams, “I have a big ego and I’m going to make it everyone’s problem”.
⇀ Gets really pissed off when you call him his government or first name, “Jeffrey”, “Jeffrey Alan Woods”. He would tell you to shut the fuck up and to never say it again.
⇀ His sense of humor is twisted AF. He could be chatting with you and he’s suddenly bringing up how he tortured this poor school girl he kidnapped a few days ago and how much she was screaming, then laughs about it obnoxiously. The topic of the conversation was strawberries.
⇀ Doesn’t matter if it’s a person, place, or thing, Jeff is going to be obsessed with it if it catches his attention because he can’t like something like a normal person. One night he had ran into a girl that had managed to escape him, so he decided to stalk her to entertain himself, and now she’s all you hear about. “I can’t wait to sink my blade into her throat”, “I can’t wait to kill that fucking bitch. She kicked me in the balls”.
⇀ Has street smarts but is really dumb academically because he went crazy during 7th grade. He also mainly works off of impulse and never thinks before he speaks. All bite and bark.
⇀ Has a big ego. He’s obsessed with his own appearance and it’s hard for him to find anyone he deems attractive because his ideal type is basically himself.
⇀ Being completely serious, his type would be someone feisty and strong. Someone who can put up with his shit. He doesn’t like timid people or pushovers. He likes it even more if they can come up with run-on insults on the fly. He might save one of those for later.
⇀ Thick thighs, boobs > ass
Relationships
⇀ He’s toxic as hell and don’t even think for a second he’s not.
⇀ Gaslighter and manipulator.
⇀ Would never outright say that he “loves you”. His love language is acts of service, so he’d do small things for you like pick up something from one of his kills that reminded him of you and leave it at your door. He’d never willingly show the affection he has for you.
⇀ While we’re on that topic, he can be quite…different when it comes to romantic gestures. Gift giving was one thing, but he might even go the extra mile by carving your name into his own skin or random objects.
⇀ If you’re one of the creeps, he’d most likely loathe you at first but become attracted to your power. If you’re a normal person, he might’ve found interest for you while he was out on one of his kills and stalked you enough to feel something for you.
⇀ He is extremely obsessive and protective, often “marking you” so none of the other creeps lay a hand on you if you’re also a proxy living in the mansion. If you’re a normal person, he’s often stalking you. If he witnesses you getting bullied or harassed, the attacker ends up dead later that night.
⇀ Gets very jealous very easily. Be careful with him because it can get really ugly.
⇀ Platonic or romantic, everyone has to be careful around him. Jeff can go from being chill to being hotheaded in only a few seconds. Arguments often happen because of his low patience, leading to wavering trust and security in the relationship.
NSFW Beyond this point
⇀ Doesn’t usually call you pet names, but when he does it’s usually “Babe”, “Doll”, “Sweet Cheeks”, “My Girl”, “My Bitch”. (Girls, if your man is calling you “his bitch”, leave him immediately!!!)
⇀ Very rough in bed. He doesn’t hold back when it comes to marking you, leaving any spot untouched bruised and covered with hickeys.
⇀ His kinks are rather…questionable. You guessed he’d be into bondage, choking, and role play, but you weren’t expecting him to hold a gun or knife to your head or throat mid blowjob. He thrives on seeing your scared and confused expression while you suck him off.
⇀ Doesn’t care for aftercare. He cleans you up with a towel then slumps for the rest of the night. He could blow your back out, have you screaming all night then leave you shivering on the side of the bed with no blanket, snoring obnoxiously.
⇀ Before he met you, he would usually find one lucky girl whenever he’s in the mood to fuck. He wouldn’t force her, obviously. He’s a killer, not a monster. He would then leave without another trace, not caring enough to go back to her. It depends whether or not he’s in a good mood if he’ll kill her right after or spare her. He’s probably gotten someone pregnant and is unknowingly a deadbeat dad.
⇀ Six inches is all I’m going to say.

Just a little reminder that everyone has a feminine and masculine side, so don't hesitate to read the messages for your masculine side too.
Paid Services | Botanica | Tip Jar
Pile One 🕺
BEYONCÉ - COZY
Right away, I’m detecting that this pile is trying to work through some bitterness and that’s ok. I get the gist that this collective is aware of this and are either accepting of it or in denial of it because of the assumption that it’s embarrassing or demeaning to feel that way. I always want to remind people that it’s okay to feel negative emotions. Having them is not what defines you but how you choose to express them is how it truly characterizes you. It feels like this brooding energy is like a seesaw or a visual representation of tug of war, because it’s happening in two different directions. This pile could be in limbo with trying to reach the other side of realizing your self-worth. There’s bitterness split into two directions. Acerbic agony over “why not me?” in terms of finding people who accept and match the love that you give to others and “why me?” when it comes to jealousy and vitriol that makes you afraid of your own potential for success and dim your light. What your feminine side is asking of you is to stop watering yourself down because you feel it’s safer that way to be under others. Take note of the vibe that you get from this channeled song because it’s time to get “cozy” with who you are and take some initiative in the lessons that you’ve been through by talking your shit. You sat with your pain long enough to know its beginning but to finally decide how YOU want to create its end. If you’re in a funk where it’s making you feel meek and want to self-sabotage, reach deep inside yourself to know that the answer isn’t to revert back to old patterns and lies that people told you to keep you stuck because they don’t want to see you grow. Get cozy with yourself because you must understand that every step of the way isn’t going to be comfortable all of the time but I feel that a lot of you are at a point where things are getting worse before they get better. It could be something external going on, but I feel that it’s mostly mental. You’re going to come out of this even stronger than before and you’re going to move differently and choose differently but also get an upgrade relating to speech. How you talk to yourself will improve, you’ll speak with more confidence, and your words will match exactly with your feelings when it comes to communicating with others. The main thing that I am seeing here is no longer trying to make accommodations that make you suffer in the end just to protect another person’s ego.
Pile Two 🕺
BEYONCÉ -MOVE
I’m sensing a lot of completion with this pile. If you’re not in this new energy yet, prepare for people making a lot of misconceptions about you. You could be accused of being aloof or have people nitpicking or trying to diagnose you based on little to no evidence. It doesn’t have to be this exact situation but what I first would like to point out is that it’s like, you’re floating down this river, unphased, and just flowing with the currents. Or that you’re water itself, becoming mutable with your form but regardless of what changes are made, you’re still water. If you’ve experienced intense feelings over people ghosting you or just not prioritizing you in the past, I’m seeing that you’ll be at a stage where you understand that what those people did wasn’t at all right and you’re no longer internalizing it with your thoughts and actions, but in other words, you’re not going to be that person anymore that’s waiting for a text. You’re not going to wait for people to act right, wait for other people’s approval, or postpone your life for people who like to play with your time. I’m getting the message that you shouldn’t stop yourself from doing whatever it is that you think about doing because “they will talk about you either way”. This could apply to promoting yourself in some way, maybe for a new job opportunity, or just taking a chance to improve your health. You may have anxiety of thinking that maybe there’s no point in trying to see what you can do for your body because you’ve been stagnant for years because of circumstances that weren’t really in your control, like finances or being dependent on a toxic parent. This could also be something else, but either way it’s like you’re afraid of what you could hear, possibly something negative or even just a “no”, but I’m hearing you can’t make that judgment without trying, because you might actually receive a yes, assistance in getting back on your feet again, or good news about your timing in getting something done before you could miss out on what’s important.
Pile Three 🕺
BEYONCÉ - CUFF IT
A rebirth is needed for this pile. There’s a lot of indulgence that feels mindless and endless because you’re seeking to satiate a need or needs but there are people who are already aware of this but are in need of confirmation for which way is the right direction to go. It’s about experiencing everything for the first time all over again. Not in a dreadful way to make you suffer, but to soothe any worries over not finding happiness if you don’t have that “one thing”. If you’ve been tested recently on remaining brave in your decision to part ways with someone but are having second doubts or the fear that you’re going to miss out, maybe that “need” that you have can be replenished by just being around your family to remind yourself that you aren’t lacking love and support around you. If you’re feeling “sexual”, maybe it isn’t sex that you necessarily need and that it’s just your soul telling you to create. If you’ve been used to seeking answers through spiritual measures but are still left confused, then maybe that’s a sign that it’s time to step back and take a break from the unseen and to come back and relearn how to go through life from just being instead of trying to know everything. Even if it isn’t those specific scenarios previously mentioned, you’re on a journey of wisdom of learning that a lot of the things that you’ve considered as losses haunting your everyday life, were not really losses, because they can be replaced by something else that’s going to lead you into falling more in love with yourself.

I've been waiting to respond since you made that post mocking us for wanting problematic characters banned from your polls because apparently you are not taking legitimate criticism of anime seriously. Because it is full of poor representation of minorities and lgbtq+ and you and all of your followers are laughing about it like it's nothing.
I will start with Yamato because everyone acts like one piece even though it's so full of misogyny. Having a trans character is amazing when I don't even think Yamato is actually trans. I'm pretty sure it's a translation error and everyone has latched on to it. So again that is not good representation if it's not confirmed representation and even if it was confirmed, it's not good representation. Yamato because of the one piece art style by default Yamato is full-blown a fetishization of trans people because all one piece characters if they are drawn, female presenting are drawn like sex dolls. So unless they go through an actual gender transition and not just a pronoun change. There cannot be good representation with Yamato because Yamato is a fetish, not a fully fleshed out character. I mean to boil it all down. I don't think the author is capable of having any good lgbtq+ representation one piece is just not a sophisticated enough story and the characters are just too shallow for that to be possible
Bleach did a similar thing with Yoruichi acting like it was so amazing to have a character of color and she is supposedly bisexual but she's just waifu bait and it reeks of misogyny and fetishization of BIPOC. She's a furry to top it all off. It doesn't help that the bunny chick from my hero is basically the new gen version of the same character, but at least she is disabled too. So at least they tried to do something with her character other than waifu bait
So I would like to know why every character I've seen promoted as great representation in anime for either the BIPOC or LGBTQ+ communities seem to only be horribly fetishized, useless, waifu bait. Not actually a good character.
And even when Japan is dealing with its own ethnic minorities and indigenous populations it still does a horrible job by playing into the Noble Savage stereotype Hollywood likes to play into. Have you not seen the anime Golden Kamuy? It's about Japan's own first Nations tribe and it's So disrespectful to that. I swear they could not have had a single person from Hokkaido, much less a member of the actual Ainu people involved in the creation of that anime or manga. And yet I've seen so many people brag about that anime and manga and how it's so good for diversity. When again, every single Ainu character acts like a bad native American stereotype from like a 1950s American Hollywood western. It's that bad and don't get me started on the fan service in that show. It's at a level that could be considered exploitative but it's okay. Some of the characters might be gay so it's representation. To top it all off it reinforces white colonial beauty standards because the main Ainu character is specially because she's half white and has blue eyes like her white dad and she talks about how she's going to be a new kind of better Ainu for the future because she's white passing. That show is a reductive racist dumpster fire and I can't believe anyone says otherwise.
But you said you won't ban characters unless the fandom becomes too toxic. But you really should consider looking out for the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities by not promoting toxic problematic characters and actually banning these toxic problematic characters and shows
Fandoms vs Illiteracy #1

Why Crowley Rescues Aziraphale
Okay, yes: it's flirtatious, it's cute, it's Anthony J. "Acts of Service" Crowley showing love in the only way he knows how because God forbid he use his words.
But what if there's more to it than that? What if there is a much darker explanation that portends major events in S3?
Allow me to convince you below the cut:
Evidence of Repetition Compulsion
But before we talk about the rescue motif, let's examine a more transparent aspect of Crowley's behavior that will provide a scaffold for the discussion of his Princess Peach obsession.
The Plants
Sure, Crowley is a hobby horticulturalist, but he doesn't do it because he loves plants. He does it because the plants are a representation of himself, and how he treats the plants tells us how he feels about himself. Importantly, how he treats the plants changes over time.
Season 1
He puts the fear of Crowley into them, destroying any specimen with a blemish and making an example out of it to threaten those that remain.
You know, just like God did to him.
This scene is jam-packed with symbolism, and we can simmer on whether his punishment of the plants is simply externalized self-flagellation, or reflects internalized standards of perfectionism, or if he feels so powerless that he creates a new relationship in which he is the one that has the power... We could simmer, but that's not the point of this meta, so let's keep going.
Season 2
In 2023, Crowley is no longer a domineering monarch, ruling over his houseplants with an iron fist; of all the memorabilia he has in his flat (the statue from the church, the original Mona Lisa), the only things he brings with him are his plants.
And for someone living in his car, he's taking pretty good care of them:
Someone else even noted that one of the plants appears to have spots, and clearly he hasn't thrown it in the garbage disposal for its transgressions. I wasn't able to see it myself, but I headcanon it because it fits with the observation that:
Crowley's attitude towards himself is changing.
He is evolving from internalized guilt and sense of inferiority to believing that he deserves care, even if he is a little blemished. It is this shift that brings it within the realm of possibility that he can admit his feelings to Aziraphale.
In both seasons, the unifying theme is that Crowley is reliving his trauma over and over, and then reliving his healing over and over. This cyclical behavior is, to my knowledge, incredibly characteristic of PTSD and CPTSD. In a phenomenon clinically referred to as Repetition Compulsion, the subject recreates and relives events of a traumatic past over and over in their present life, seeking resolution for something that has already happened, where the opportunity for true, satisfying closure is forever lost to the past. A huge part of therapeutic treatment is breaking these maladaptive cycles [citations]. But to our knowledge, Crowley doesn't have a therapist.
If this is how Crowley's CPTSD manifests in his relationship with inanimate objects semi-sentient dependents, how might it manifest in his relationship with his angel?
The Rescue Motif
The cycle of Aziraphale's self-endangerment and Crowley's nick-of-time rescues might look like just a cute part of their flirtationship, a necessary cover for their continued association, but I argue that it something much darker.
Crowley rescues Aziraphale over and over throughout history to try to absolve himself for the one time he couldn't.
But clearly, Aziraphale doesn't know that.
It only took one rescue for Aziraphale to realize that this kind of behavior brings them closer together - and he desperately wants to get close to Crowley. Please forgive the crudeness of the metaphor, but: when you need to drive a screw into a board and all you have is a hammer, you're gonna smack that thing on the head over and over with the only tool you've got. The problem is, this is really bad for the screw.
Aziraphale, by leveraging the damsel-in-distress motif, over and over again, is inadvertently triggering a trauma response from Crowley because he likes what he gets out of it, which is spending time with the demon he loves and growing intimacy. If he knew that this is what he was doing, it would be sick and twisted and go against everything he believes about himself as an angel, let alone being mortified that he was hurting Crowley.
So the only possible conclusion (given we take the above conjectures as fact (see @queerfables, I listen to you <3)) is that:
Aziraphale Doesn't Know About His Own Jimmification
What is it that Crowley could have failed to rescue Aziraphale from that Aziraphale himself is unaware of? Well, at the least, it would have to involve a mind-wipe.
We know, canonically, that the Metatron can and will mind-wipe angels without actually casting them out of Heaven. Just because Aziraphale is an angel does not mean we can assume that this ability was never leveraged against him.
If Crowley knew that they were going to do this to his friend, he would have tried to stop it. The repeating damsel-rescue motif (in context of the existing, plant-based evidence of Repetition Compulsion) is a strong indicator that his mission to protect Aziraphale from the memory-wipe failed, and he is living in an endless loop of rescue behavior to try to resolve his guilt about that.
So why wouldn't Crowley tell Aziraphale that his mind was erased?
To properly address that I will need time to write a part 2. But others are welcome to use this as a jumping-off point, please just cite the inspo; it's a little thing that brings me joy ^_^

I’m concerned that a lot of people’s progressivism begins and ends at the production and/or consumption of progressive media. Because the message in a piece of media is only useful insofar as the effect it has on a person, if that person lets it motivate them to do actual, tangible good.
I think a lot of people are content with touting their media as ‘progressive’ but without being actionable about it. And so in practice, functionally, they are no different than an “apolitical” conservative who doesn’t care at all and so isn’t bothering to put good out into the world.
Part of it probably comes from certain schools of thought where morality is defined by being a “good” person with “good” thoughts instead of like, someone who does pragmatic good for other people. But also I think the other part of it is just complacency, and the prioritization of stroking one’s ego over how enlightened they are. You can’t just shift blame to the message for not making this very point, because it shouldn’t have needed to, a message can never force you to act. That’s on you to actualize it.
I suspect a lot of corporations such as Disney are fine with shows like Andor because in the end, they’re banking on this; Viewers flocking to the newest media to revel over how progressive it is, and then calling it a day. They know we’re content on paying performative lip service to the idea of rebellion, and so it’s easy for them to cater to the progressive market.
In general, this is my concern and self-reflection with media; You can appreciate whatever witty things it has to say and what meaningful lessons it offers, but are you actually applying them? If a character is mature in a situation, do you look at yourself for whether you’ve done the same? When the showrunners themselves encourage you to donate to a charity, do you? Have you helped a Palestinian fundraiser?
I think stuff like representation is important; I was affected negatively by the lack of it growing up. Stereotypes are still harmful. But people would rather half-ass their media rather than take it all the way through into reality or even just their engagement in fandom, and in the end you can appreciate how certain ideas are being made mainstream as a confirmation of changing values, and will educate other people like kids into legitimate action or maturity AND be one of those people yourself. You can easily do both yknow.
So yes you doing good work doesn’t make you beyond reproach in how you tackle things in writing or your internalized biases. We should still read feminist and race theory to be mindful and self-aware, to apply more lessons to ourselves. But also, having “good” thoughts alone doesn’t actually make you a good person, you still need to be kind. In the end you’re quite milquetoast and useless if you can’t put the message for action into action. Sometimes the message says don’t do X and you aren’t, at least you’re not adding to the harm in the world. But we could easily do a bit more by adding to the good. We all want to think of ourselves as Dumbo.
…Anyhow, it’s easy to write/reblog this to pat oneself on the back for being more woke than others and telling them off, only to not do anything with this either.

I know someone with experience on pretty much all the sides of this and this representation of affairs is pretty darn close to how he defined the problem.
He added some additional contributing difficulties but this more or less is the basic layout.
The things he added are:
While planes are mandated to have the automated detection system mentioned in the article and they’re mandated to be on most of the flight, that is not the same case with Blackhawks. Some have them, some don’t, and because they’re interactive systems that talk to each other, there are times when, even if you have them, you want them to be off so they can’t be used by the enemy. If the helicopter was doing an exercise matching one of those conditions, then that would effect both the helicopter who wouldn’t be able to use it AND the plane where it would operate significantly worse because it’s longer range operations rely on the systems in individual aircraft talking to each other. Without the systems interacting it can only detect problems that are so close that it’s hard to respond appropriately in time, even for a computer.
There is also the problem with the air traffic congestion on the military side. Congress wants the airplane flights, yes, but they are also the ones fighting for that helicopter path which normally wouldn’t be there. The thing is, that helicopter path is also the emergency services for the capital. If an elected official has a heart attack that’s where the helicopter that will airlift them to the hospital will come through. It’s also where soldiers should helicopter in to defend the capital building, just like didn’t happen on 1/6 because air support was never ordered but could have been. So no one wants that flight path moved even though it would be under normal circumstances.
Finally, experience makes a tremendous difference. Yes, they all go through the same training. The Captain of the helicopter probably even got additional training that many commercial air pilots simply have no need for. The problem is simply flight hours. Commercial pilots fly constantly because there is a constant need for flights. Military pilots do not. They fly when the mission is needed which is simply significantly less. It’s extremely common for even very experienced military pilots to only have about a tenth of the flight hours of a comparable commercial pilot. While he has only been a commercial pilot a few years he has already exceeded his flight hours there over his entire government career before hand. It’s simply a matter of numbers and that, unfortunately, works against military pilots in an emergency even though they have just as good or better training.
For his pure opinion, knowing no more specifics than what has been reported, since he is now multiple years a civilian, his guess is that it was an overlap of failures. That the system in place over Regan Airport is like a bunch of random slices of Swiss Cheese, things are mostly fool proof but there’s always holes where a mistake can occur, even under the best possible circumstances. Air travel pretty much has to be zero failure because any failure is a life and death threat. Unfortunately, there’s no such thing as a perfect system. There are always holes where a problem can slip through. So everything is designed with redundancy to try and keep the holes from overlapping and passing through from possibility to deadly reality. The more systems there are, the more holes there are to overlap. The more strained the systems, the bigger the holes are, increasing the likelihood that holes can overlap. The less integrated the systems are, the less you can act to control for where expected holes are. The systems are good enough that most of the time the errors don’t overlap because everything is designed for zero tolerance of errors and people are trying very hard to make everything work. But match up enough slices over enough time with enough stress and the law of averages hits. Some number of impossible to prevent or predict errors overlap and because failure is so deadly in these situations, a lot of people die, in spite of the system going to extra lengths to prevent it. This has happened before. It will happen again. We can do a lot to mitigate it and decrease the accident rate but absolute zero simply isn’t possible. Especially in this case with an unusually high number of strains on the interacting systems. So blaming any individual person for it is like blaming one single person for colonialism. This kind of disaster is emergent from lots of little perfectly reasonable decisions that simply add up together to an unpredictable disaster. It’s probably just a tragedy not a scapegoat hunt. But we’ll treat it like a scapegoat hunt because that’s what we do as a people. And, if we’re lucky, through that search, we’ll find a systemic problem for which we can make a systemic solution but the more likely scenario is that this is simply the tragedy of the compound risks we’ve put in place here. The disasters will continue to be very rare but they will also continue to be horrible tragedies with no single person to really blame for them. It’s the fundamental cost of trying to do more than is absolutely safe.
So: anyone blaming the Captain of the Blackhawk, especially because she was a woman, is almost certainly trying to keep the status quo of getting everything they want, in spite of the inherent safety risks, by piling systemic problems on her head as a scapegoat so they don’t have to give up anything they want in exchange for making the system safer.
Even the rando know-nothing. Because it’s a lot easier to say she did it than to say my leader, who I trust always under all circumstances, contributed to a preventable lethal error and is going to keep doing it because it’s too desirable to give up practices that will cost lives. Which would mean they can’t really always trust their leader and would have to engage with individual decisions that might be bad. They’re trying to sacrifice her for their worldview and standard operating procedures.

Biography
Childhood and Upbringing
Reshika Nivant Divekar was born 10th October 1988, into a world that was steeped in intellectual pursuits of her parents. Raised in Antioch, Oregon, Reshika's life was steeped in history, culture and academic brillance thanks to her parents, both of who were renowned archaeologists who were renown in the academic community. More often than not, their discoveries led them working across the country, leaving Reshika in the care of nannies, babysitters and the occasional family friends.
From an early age, Reshika was taught the importance of propriety and decorum. Her parents, though often physically distant, instilled in her a sense of dury and responsibility. She was reminded, that even in their absence, she was not just a child but representive of the Divkar name. Whether it be in the company of her caretakers of the occasional visit from her parents' academic colleagues, Reshika know how to present herself with the expectation on her shoulders.
Education was at the heart of Reshika's upbringing. Her parents, despire their busy scheduels, ensured that she had access to the best tutors and educational resources. The world of academia became her sancutary, a places where she could connect with her parents' work and feel closer to them despite their frequent absences. She found solace in her studies, keeping herself to herself. The quiet child who had her head in the books with constant curioisty. Reshika was content with her santuary in the pages.
Teenager
Having spent most her childhood surrounded with adults, Reshika had to navigate the oh so fun teenage years. She often found herself at odds with her peers. This left her feeling somewhat out of place as the social dynamics of school proved to be a world apart from the intellectual circles she as so use this.
Despite all of this, Reshika knew that she had to name a name for herself. Making friends was no easy task for the quiet and socially awkward teen unless she played to her strenghts. Reshika used what she knew best: her intellect. It wasn't long before she established herslf as the go-to person for group projects, often taking on the entire workload herself. It was her way of providind that she could be a valuable member of any team, even if it meant that she would work alone. Others would like her right?
Slowly but surely her straegery paid off. She found herself gladly sleeping into more popular crowd - not through her charisma or athletic prowess, but through the quiet and consistent support that she offered. Becoming known to help others to succeed, though not by offering to tutor. instead, she was the one writing papers and completing asignements for those who needed their grades. It was the easiest way for her to make friends, earning her invitations to social events, or setting up social events- all in in all giving her the chance to break into a wider social scene.
The more she spent with the social circle helped shed away ther awkwardness making her more outgoing and sociable. Even though she was very much a follower, she would do anything for anybody and anyone if it was her powers. Ask her to jump, she will happily ask you, how high and at what speed or distance was needed. Reshika is always happy to oblige.
Class of 2008.
Studying French was part of her elective. It was fun. Partly to be an easy grade to help out her friends and make sure they would past. It was suppose to be fun with a trip included, the first time she would leave her little hometown.
It was tragic what happened right? All the death and lost. Not much else to be said here. She was there and they were there. They all knew what had happened. Aka let's plot out what happened. During her time, she was a follower, easily swayed, easily influence even if the regret is eating her up alive.
Post Class of 2008.
She doesn't talk about. She was told not to talk about it. Even though she really wants to talk about. Everything is fine. All of it fine, right?
Staying is Antioch
After the incident, and finally out of the woods of it all, Reshika made the choice that surprised both herself and those around: she chose to stay in Antioch, the small town where she spent her life. Her parents were taken aback by her choice, as they had envisaged her path to be something grander, something that would reflect the academic pathway they laid for her.
There was something almost brighter about Reshika, as if a light within her had sparked up. A brighter smile, a kinder tone of someone who did not take life forgranted. She dound a way to appreciate the simple joys of life. This inspired her to to do something. She obtained her Realtor licence and dedicated herself to their perfect home, Making “home” being the most important place of all.
CONNECTIONS:
Disclaimer: When writing connections, I like to write based on chemistry, sometimes the unexpected connections becoming something rich and beautiful. I am a sucker for all the angst and tension. Give me all the enriched friendships, complexed and strained, people who fight and don't get along. Excited to plot with you ^-^.
Class of 2008 Connections :
The One Who Convinced her it was a good idea. Something manipulative in nature, a swaying her so it was easier. Or the one who makes her swear that she won't tell anyone about it even though it is something that is eating her up alive. [OPEN]
The One Who Checks in After they both know what they did. Who else can you talk about it with. No one about it apart from those who were their. Could be something that that is an unexpected friendship. Drinking buddies or something alike. [OPEN]
The One that does not trust her. She is a goodie-goodie why wold she not break and mention something. You know that something is off with her, she is brighter and happier, all for a means that she is going to crack soon. This could start of as a false friendship, seems caring with underline motives to keep tabs on her along with others. Could be something like love-bombing to keep her hush-hush or we can just make it pure angst and arguments that they always have. Let someone case the a shadow over the sunshine girl. [OPEN]

Everything in Twilight Saga that doesn't make sense to me
Stephanie Meyers' world just doesn't make sense to me.
Like at all.
So these are things that I think would make more sense about the lore of Twilight Saga.
The Wolf Pack - They're not werewolves or wolves. They're just not. Why Stephanie Meyer calls them that is stupid to me. And the thing is, its not just her. So many fanfictions I read call them werewolves. But they are shapeshifters. SHAPESHIFTERS.
Imprinting - It seems so ridiculous to me that Meyer creates imprinting. Especially given the fact that this generation of shifters are CHILDREN. They are literal children! Sam imprints on his girlfriend's cousin. Quil imprints on that cousin's 3-year-old niece! Jacob imprints of the hybrid child of the girl he claims he loves!! Imprinting has caused nothing but issues and ruined at least one relationship that we know of.
The Cullens and the Wolf Pack - The treaty between the 'werewolves' and the 'cold ones' is logical, yes. Especially when you considered the fact that the appearance of vampires is what causes the 'werewolf' gene to turn on. So, it would make sense that they have the treaty. However, I feel that it has not worked very well, given the fact that Jacob not only unknowingly breaks the treaty when he tells Bella the tribe stories (because he has a massive crush on her), but also, once he does become of the 'pack', he continuously pursues Bella, thus angering Edward (because who wouldn't be pissed off when someone continuously disrespects their relationship). And Jacob can do that. Because there's nothing in the treaty which prevents the shifters from deliberately antagonizing the vampires. Maybe I just have issues but if someone kept knowingly disrespecting my relationship, I'd be pissed. And if I were a vampire? I'd probably want to attack them and drain their blood. I imagine Edward thought about it but never actually did it.
The Cullens Sparkly Problem - They can't go out in sunlight. Because they sparkle. Sunlight is always present. Even at night. So, having to follow the rule of not exposing the secret to humans, surely it is a stupid vampiric evolutionary trait to SPARKLE in sunlight?!?!?!!
The Cullens and Human Food - This is one of many things about my issues with Stephanie Meyer's vampires. They are vampires. They have venom. Yet they have to essentially regurgitate human food back up? Logically thinking, would the venom in their saliva not act like an acid and literally dissolve any human food they consume - therefore eliminating the need to regurgitate food.
Edward's Attitude - His attitude. All of it. His misogyny. His gaslighting. His blatant dismissal of Bella's feelings, thoughts and opinions. It's very obvious that SMeyer puts in her own personal beliefs about relationships however it's also very obvious that SMeyer's personal beliefs about relationships are quite traditional, and give off the vibe of 'women should be seen but never heard'. I just don't fuck with that. At all.
Jasper's Background - Jasper Hale is a confederate soldier who joined the army during the Civil War, fighting on the side of those in favor of enslaving black people. But it's not just that. Jasper wasn't just a solider. He was a Major. According to the modern US army, it would take a minimum of 10 years service for Jasper to be considered for the rank of Major. Jasper Hale was 19. How good was he in the confederate army that he was given the rank of major after 2 years???
The Blatant Racism - Twilight Saga, as a whole, is incredibly racist (and misogynistic). It does not create a safe space for people of colour, or even anyone that doesn't fit a certain profile. Namely, the skinny, white people. Anyone who doesn't fit that profile does not have a safe space in the fandom. The representation for people of colour is severely lacking.
Humans - There seems to be an extreme lack of regard for humans. And to some degree, I do understand. Because it is a film series about vampires, they (usually) eat humans. When it comes to humans, Edward only seems to have any regard and basic respect for Bella, and Angela. And Bella appears to drop her new friends as soon as she starts dating Edward, only returning to them when Edward leaves. And for good reason, when she starts showing suicidal tendencies and a total lack of regard for not just her safety, but Jessica's too, Jessica totally freaks out. Any person would in those circumstances.
The Misogyny - Further on from Edward's misogyny and SMeyer's beliefs. Bella's 'I'm not like other girls' vibe and the stereotypes of the likes of Jessica, Rosalie, Lauren etc. Putting them in boxes. A box that states these girls are vapid, feminine, empty mean girls with no real contribution to conservation or friendship. When in truth, yes, Jessica may have been friends with Bella because she was new and shiny but at least she tried. She tried to be friends with Bella, the feelings obviously soured when Bella clearly didn't want to be friends with her, and dropped her like a hot potato when Edward reciprocated her feelings. Not to mention, when Jessica and Lauren's crushes seem to have all their attention on Bella. And it's not Bella's fault, but they don't see that. Because Jessica and Lauren are essentially still children. They are developing their brains, and they admittedly are unkind or rude sometimes, but at the end of the day, they are children. Children who make stupid mistakes, and notice how at no point, does anyone think to say anything. No one pulls them up? Why? Because they are in the box. And they are not allowed growth or development. They stay the mean girls because they aren't important.
The Misogyny Part 2 - Rosalie needs a whole other point. Because Rosalie Hale's story is crushing. It is crushing and heartbreaking, and Nikki Reed played the role with so much realness. Rosalie Hale is a New York socialite during the 1930s, who's family is not wrecked by the Great Depression. She is ignorant, she is unaware, and like most women of that time period and in that social standing, she does not have a lot of opportunities. Her opportunities are housewife and mother. She thinks this man loves her, she loves him, she wants nothing more than the perfect life with this man she loves and these perfect children she believes they will have. And it is ruined in one awful, traumatic evening. And the cherry on top of the cake, Carlisle finds Rosalie and changes her with the intent to make the perfect little mate for Edward. So, Rosalie, three days later, wakes up with an immortal life, a head full of traumatic memories of that night three days ago, and she is only there because Carlisle had the intent to give Edward a mate. And while Carlisle may have the best of intentions, Rosalie's story fills me with anger. And what makes it worse? Fast forward to Bella entering the picture, Rosalie has the love of her life, and she has endless beauty and she's jealous. And I truly believe her anger is so valid because it's not just about Bella being able to have children and Rosalie can't. No. It's Rosalie has to come to terms with the fact that this human girl gets to have more choice than Rosalie did. She gets to have the family vote. And Rosalie desperately wants Bella to have the option not to become a vampire. Because for Rosalie, becoming a vampire was both the best and worst thing she ever did. But all Bella sees, is Rosalie is angry, vain and jealous. Misogyny.
In conclusion, thank you for coming to my TedTalk. I will probably make a Part 2 when I think of more things I hate about Twilight and why they just don't make sense.
Thanksss :))) xx

i don’t know if there’s correlation here, but i fear there might be. but i hate when people act like “shipping” shouldn’t happen with a show like the bear because apparently the show is “above” that, but the incels on reddit/twitter get to project onto characters like richie or carmy and share a vast amount of racist/misogynistic takes towards sydney. i don’t know it seems like people are more concerned with shipping more than those things. chris has said time and time again that this story is about the people first and romantic relationships is a natural part of human existence, not to sound corny lol, but it’s true. syd and carmy are close in age and connect on a different level in comparison to everyone else like….what can be expected? the show has given us multiple scenes to lead us to believe something could happen between them as well, so it’s always very weird when those supposed film bros don’t see that? i would think they would catch onto the editing and lighting of some scenes…. also it’s not surprising that a lot of men that watch the show reject any scenes of positive feeling or hope, they just want carmy to be traumatized for the whole show with no character development and growth, just work and trauma and nothing romantic unless it’s with claire. she’s apparently supposed to serve as his sweet love interest who is so far removed from that world, enough to service as a distraction. ugh, it’s just frustrating. there’s so much hypocrisy. like it’s especially frustrating how they take the shipping as pure projection and ruining the show, but they’re allowed to act like carmy and richie are direct representation of themselves….hm.
i don’t know how one can watch their very first meeting, the “this is what love is for” needle drop of them cooking together, the “you’re dressed like syd”, the reunion, the fact that carmy cooked the best meal sydney ever made, the fact that sydney was jealous of claire (which surprise surprise! also doesnt dimish her character in way- it only makes her more human and multifaceted!), the table scene + subsequent thom browne chef whites gift, and the fact they opened up to each other multiple times about personal stuff and never once think there might be something there. you can take issue with the act of shipping sure (which, lol, this is the internet and people have been shipping characters since the 60s) but to try and dimiss the very real point and possibility of sydney and carmy after 2 seasons, 18 episodes and nearly 10 hours of content screaming at the viewers to get it then idk to tell them. reddit is usually misogynistic/racist so i wouldnt put too much stock into what they say on there
the problem with claire isn’t that she exists, its more so the fact that the purpose of her character hasn’t been made more explicitly clear to EVERYONE yet. people who analyze the show by rewatching it and clocking all the times that claire and carmy’s relationship is antithetical to the show’s themes of growth and development and positivity and progress even when everyone is screaming at you to regress and supress. i said it before in a previous ask but i hope they make that explicitly clear and obvious in s3

🥧👻🦃
thank you so much for the ask!! ❤️
🥧 Pie: Which of your characters takes care of the others around them? How do they take care of themselves?
tbh the very nice thing, i think, about my cast of characters is that most of them are very kind and caring towards others; it's rarer to find cold/uncaring characters.
however (and i know this is the obvious answer), grant is one of the most caring and generous of them all. by default, his primary method of caring is acts of service, aka making himself of use to someone. do you need someone to make you soup when you're sick, be your shoulder to cry on when you're having a shit day, or come pick you up when your car breaks down? he's your guy!
he's not super good at taking care of himself, though. lmao. but he's trying! his current method of taking care of himself is to actually heal his trauma. also, on a smaller note, he is a huge fan of a nice skincare routine and cooking a good meal, so that's one of his practical methods of cheering himself up.
btw aoife is exactly the same as him, let's be real
👻 Ghost: Do you have a character or a scene that continues to haunt you? Something or someone you wish you had done differently or just can’t stop thinking about?
automatically, there are two scenes that come to mind, and they were both some of the biggest scenes in the story thus far, so i think my unhappiness with them comes from the fact that this is a sims story and i have to take the fully developed movie from my brain and convert it into pictures and text, and it doesn't match up. no matter how aesthetic i make it or how many song links i add to make it more like the movie in my head, it never feels just right.
ANYWAY
that said, the first scene is the end of the bachelor party scenes where grant is like blackout drunk and hallucinating/dreaming in 2x speed about his history with addiction, and even though he is engaging with addiction in that moment, he's traumatized by it. i think it all played out well as a whole BUT the flashback scenes did not feel dynamic to me, and that's what they should have been. i wanted it to feel like you're dragged along through that hell and chaos with him, and like you're experiencing the same oppression from substances and the people who encouraged it, and it just didn't because it was made out of stationary pictures. also, i hate using poses for more than two sims, so the party pics were bland.
the other scene is really just the end of the ireland trip where you learn a lot more about aoife's backstory. i didn't get to spend as much time with those parts because i was quite literally in the middle of working on them when i got the call my grandma died, so i abandoned them for a hot minute, and when i came back, i wanted so badly to be DONE with all that content because it took on some bad associations for me and i couldn't think much about it.
i do think it came out okay but i would have added a couple other scenes expanding on things there instead of pushing it off to another set of scenes. like i would have had a conversation there where someone tangibly discusses what aoife's parents were really like, and i would have expanded on that contrast of aoife the real person and aoife the embodiment of everyone else's desires because she's supposed to be a representation of a specific female archetype in art (medea/cathleen ni houlihan/aoife nic mhurchada - a category of women who've lost agency and/or everything they've ever known, and have endured things like forced marriage/love or symbolize stuff like someone else's freedom, etc.)
i did just kind of spoil aoife's design lmao but it doesn't matter anymore because the literature aspect is more of a fun fact and only relevant in one specific case (if you remember grant reading cathleen ni houlihan...) and i'll come back to it later, but if you read between the lines enough, you at least see there are two aoifes (so to speak.)
🦃 Turkey: What’s the most abundant burst of inspiration you’ve ever had? Were you able to translate that into writing?
hmm this is an interesting question! i'd say one of the most abundant inspo moments i've had was when @crazykissim and i decided on grant's future love interest 👀 i obviously can't share too much because it's a huge spoiler rn but i've had so much fun constructing the romance aspect into the story, putting twists on classic romance tropes, and developing an interesting personality and history for [REDACTED]. i've even built MULTIPLE lots for the romance arc. you know i'm serious when i build lmaooooo
it is translated into writing, though! the final versions of everything aren't quite done but i do have drafts ready and a full timeline set in stone :)
#asks#hlcn: story extras#not the longest section here being criticisms for myself LMAO#that checks out like i am never satisfied with anything i do#but it's okay

What’s their love languages? / What’s something that reminds them of their partner(s)? Do they have anything on them daily as a reminder (a photo, phone background, tattoo, clothing/accessory, etc)?
OC Ship Asks
@irisopranta for also asking the second one!
(( In which I gush about the effects @throneoflevin 's Ketsuchi has had on Jak over the years! ))
Her love language is, perhaps shockingly, acts of service! A good bit of it is cultural, and how doting she saw her parents being with each other (I'm sick of seeing negative representations of Seeker life!) - but her tribe really valued everyone pitching in, and taking care of one another! Life in the desert is rough - so true care is taking that time and effort you could use for yourself/your own survival, and giving it to your family/those who matter most!
There's also the fact that she is a rather selfish person these days, who doesn't care how her words or actions affect others - she is who she is, and fuck what others think! So... what's more telling than an egotistical, powerful person being willing to serve another, to show their devotion? Caring what that person thinks, and going out of your way to do for them - something you wouldn't do for anyone else. She's never really understood (romantic) love, never really believed in it! And while neither she nor her partner will say the L word, nor even truly call what they have dating... they are both powerful, action-oriented people easily intimidated by the perceived finality/vulnerability that words feel like they bring (she also thinks he would feel like he's betraying his dead wife if he said he loved Jak, but she's okay with that - she never expected anyone to love her, so it's already mind-blowing to her that he cares about her!).
All that said, behind closed doors she loves to cook for him... and given that she loves hot baths? She adores long, hot baths with her 'Wolf' - and bathing him! It's not even about sex so much (initially) as it is the intimacy of washing this person to whom she has given herself, and being vulnerable - showing him that she's putting him first, and listening to him, and valuing him... as much as she values herself, if not more. They've actually verbally agreed that their actions say everything to one another that they need to know!
As for the reminder of him? That came about once they stopped posturing and fighting so much, and really sort of committed to genuinely letting their walls down for one another - not only did she give him a key to her home... but she got a tattoo that represents a nickname he gave her (a once sort of mean-spirited tease that's become a 'pet name' now really xD) - of a robin! It's a watercolor robin in flight, under her left breast, across her rib cage! And a fun secret about her tats is that they all represent a facet of herself! So it was MASSIVE that she put something permanent on her body, for one, that's out of affection and devotion to another person; it's HUGE because she railed against this moniker for so long; it's mind-blowing, really, because that... to her, is...almost like admitting to a measure of 'control' that someone else has in her life, it's admitting that the 'Little Robin' is, in fact, a facet of her, and a facet of her that's just for him. And an even more fun fact about it all is that her sketchbook is essential to her, and the only people that tend to end up in it are ones that are important to her - and perhaps most notably, she never uses color...except on his portraits, where she colors his eyes. Also notable is that none of her tattoos have color... except that robin. I don't think she knows how to articulate it, but he... brings color to an otherwise unbearably droll existence. He... gave her reasons to fight. Reasons to live... when she had none. So yes - she quite literally carries him close to her heart, his influence imprinted in her flesh not just in levin scarring, but in her own acknowledgement of his impact/influence. (Though that is all very sweet, if it were phrased that way to her, she'd probably roll her eyes at the romanticized language used, lol)

I think what the biggest issue is, is people's Interpretations of everything that Sarah wrote, which they call "forshadowing". This will make them scream "fanservice" and hate on the author because the author never intended on making this or that happen in the first place. I hear people always say "Oh this wouldn't make sense and Sarah could never do that"- but how would you know? It might not make sense to you because you see that in a whole different way, but it might make sense to the author. For example people say "Elucien could never happen simply because Elain hates Lucien", well that is what they interpret. That is what they think is true. What if Sarah thought "great tension makes their love story even better!" They act like they know Sarah personally just based of what she wrote. You just know the fall is going to hurt so much for them when they point at the color of Elain's dress or the color of Gwyn's stone and call it "forshadowing". Just like you said, the thing can't be forshadowing for something you want to happen, when that something didn't even happen. This all sound like this: "I forshadowed that I have passed the exam" but then when I see I failed it, I attack my teacher and call it unfair? Sarah does not strike me as someone who would do fan service. It's more than clear that she does whatever she wants to do and she has proven that. Someone else is running her IG account and she's barely on social media. If she ever does fan service, I think that because her editor thought it to be best. Sarah wrote a full chapter from Rhys's POV about him reacting to Aelin falling from the sky but her editor said no. I also believe she would only do fanservice when people are yelling of the way Sarah has treated serious terms like racism, SA etc. In her books. I heard from some that Sarah did fanservice once when she broke off the Moriel ship, because people where complaining about the lack of representation for the LBGTQ community. No one complained about Moriel, she or her editor was the one who thought "hmm maybe I/you should make someone gay/lesbian/bisexual so that there wouldn't be people planning to cancel me/you". People also forget that just years ago, when Sarah had a good time with her editor and the acotar series was coming to an end, she discussed her plans for the acotar series that was only made for fun- the plans include acosf, acotar 5, 6 and the novellas. The company literally said "yes" to all of it. That means that the ships and plots for acotar 5 and acotar 6 were already planned for years. I doupt that Sarah would change the whole plot and the ships, just to please a certain fandom. Not only would she have to change everything she planned for acotar 5, but also 6 and the novellas and then she would need approval of it, because I don't think Bloomsburry would just like the whole change. So if the thing that you so wished and were certain to happen didn't happen, the author isn't to blame for your false Interpretation. Yk.. let's say El/riel is confirmed, that does not mean all their theories will come true. What if Elain isn't becoming a spy or the high lady of the dusk court, will they yell "fanservice" and say crap like "This only didn't happen because Sarah feels bad for Gwynriels"?
Oh I would bet a whollllle lot of money that people will scream fanservice. A lot of money. Even people right now who are saying "but she doesn't do fanservice".
She's a pantser for sure, that's how we see these wild inconsistencies and retcons, but all of those changes come from whatever whim she has up her butt at the time - they don't come from what the readers want.
I wanted to highlight two things you said:
"Oh this wouldn't make sense and Sarah could never do that"- but how would you know? It might not make sense to you because you see that in a whole different way, but it might make sense to the author. [...] the author isn't to blame for your false Interpretation
100000% this. Reader interpretation and author intention are separate things. Often, we never find out what the author intended. But we shouldn't confuse the way that we read something with what she wanted us to understand from it. That's why sometimes I will say something like, "this is how I saw Nesta's journey, but I'm not sure if Sarah thought of it that way" (just as an example). Just because I see something there, doesn't mean that the author put it there. The only exception to this is clearly the words on the page - but any allusions, or connections, or symbolism, or extrapolation, much of our analysis, interpretation of meaning beyond the literal definition, understanding of connotations, that relies on the reader, and may or may not have been something that the author wanted to put in the story.
Which ultimately means that we shouldn't hold the author accountable when we decided to interpret something that they never intended to be there in the first place. People will, of course. That's why they will scream fanservice. Either that, or they will try to tear her apart from a craft perspective. But it's funny how people are saying that she never does fanservice while also trying their level best to influence the author.

I've been seeing a lot of posts about how people can write/create and consume whatever they want and we have to stop acting like that means they are a bad person. You can write good things and be bad and write bad things and be good. And these posts tend to talk about false information and intellectualism and say that media has no affect on our lives. But that statement is literally false. Now I'm all for reading dark and twisted shit. I love my trauma book shelf in my library.
But I also think it is important to at a minimum recognize if not question and discuss what we are consuming and the way it impacts our lives.
It is not harmful to read one bad thing. Or write one bad thing. But if media is saturated with something and it becomes normalized we do indeed see more of that in real life. We seem to have more serial killers now than back in the day because there's lot more media about serial killers and bad people get ideas of how they would be important and sought after or whatever. Do I think having the technology and communication to identify patterns of serial killers and notice people missing also impacts this? Yes I do. But the numbers seem far higher now than previous millennium. People who have bad thoughts consume media. And when things that they really believe are glorified or beloved tropes; they feel validated. They feel like they aren't the only ones and they are supported. We know that media is important and affects real life. That's why we fight for representation. Because it affects people's unconscious biases. If you don't live or hang out around a lot of Mexicans but you consume a lot of media where they are gang members. Your first thought seeing a Mexican in real life might be that they are in a gang. Even though it wasn't based in truth, statistics, experience or anything that person did. Media affects reality and reality affects media. It's why you take into account the context of when and where something was made. So read your smut. Write your monster fuckers and deep dark secrets. And take into account ways to address sensitive topics. Trigger warnings and disclaimers as well as links to services for help in those topics are important. Use author's notes or your media accounts to make your own beliefs clear. Do I want 1000 year old monsters banging it out? Yes. Do I think that consistently protraying young especially pre frontal cortex girls with older men in media as romantic and desirable contributes to young girls getting into relationships with older men that are imbalanced and unhealthy as well as older men feeling validated in dating those younger girls? Yes I do. Life and art are a mirror. Also there are good and bad ways of approaching certain subjects. And by good and bad I mean harmful verses helpful. There's ways to raise suicide awareness helpfully and ways to promote stereotypes and glorify it in ways that have a devastating impact on the community it portrays. (This case being clinically majorly depressed with suicidal tendencies). You can indeed make whatever art you want. That does not free you from the unintended effects of it. You can consume and discuss whatever art you want. That does not mean that you may not be communicating something you weren't trying to to people you weren't trying to. As well as continuing to monetarily support artists who you don't agree with does support the platform that lets them speak.
Stop trying to separate art from the author just so you feel better about liking it. Two things can be true at once. You can like something and acknowledge it's issues. I think Diana Ross was an incredible singer and her voice brings me joy. I also have concerns about the age gap of when she became involved with Michael Jackson, someone she was mentoring, and feel that it was a power imbalance. Also possibly resulting in the song Dirty Diana which the lyrics seem to describe the woman Diana as a predator. "Get your weight off of me" and him telling her no he's ina relationship but she continues to try and seduce him. Separating art from artists really limits the scope you're willing to observe an art with. For the sake of your own convenience and comfort. Knowing an author is a Zionist can make it easier to recognize imperialism in their works. I still enjoy lots of art, even by "problematic people". I can acknowledge talent and be open to recognizing things in their work that I don't like instead of pretending it's perfect. Not to say that every problematic person leaves obvious traces of that in their work. Maybe you don't see any. And that's awesome. You can still acknowledge the creator sucking. Also if they're capable of not including it, they probably know better than pulling that crap in real life and choose to anyway.
Now all this to say that I do not support censorship laws. They are obvious paths to fascism.
I do support people holding duality in their hands and acknowledging it. I support conversations with critical thinking that may "attack" work you like because you didn't notice everything about it. I support communities choosing what they make popular while considering the impact it has. Take some accountability for your effects. Intended or otherwise.

Landlords raising the price of rentals in LA in response to the fires and housing crisis is the same reason they raise rent in general. If it was immoral now, it was immoral before - we've had an ongoing housing crisis.
Like seriously ask yourself why people care so much about the new homeless who had a house, versus the ones who never did, for generations, and likely never will? Why is it so sad that a 90 yr old lost their home they had for 40 years, but not so sad that a 50 year old was denied that same opportunity and likely won't make it to 70, and the tent home they set up for 1 month was torn down by police because people value an empty lot more than someone else's need for shelter? Isn't that sadder? We treat squirrels and empty fields with more dignity than we treat people. Unless we admit that we've justified killing people systematically to poverty and we've shirked our duty as a society to take care of ourselves.
Why should the person who lost a house to fire, receive housing before a person who's been waiting 10 years for housing?
The answer is classism, and in times of corporate feudalism, owning land puts you in a separate class than not owning land at all.
And landlords are the cops for those classes, stopping people from accumulating any wealth while double dipping themselves. In a just world, landlords would pay their tenants a wage for caretaking the home, and the landlord's pay would be from the appreciating asset appreciating, like any landowner.
And in terms of homeowners acting like police - when is the last time you saw a tent in the Palisades? A car camper? Who calls the police on these people? And why do the police even bother to respond to their calls? Because they are homeowners and I a different class.
And had they voted for policies that loterally simply housed LA's homelessness, instead of shelter first policies or charity based policies that require homeless to attend church etc for group housing which is dangerous and traumatizing and ineffective... Had they not called the police but instead their representatives and demanded housing as a solution for homelessness (and hadn't gatekept owning a home, a literal need), then there would be more services and housing available now. As it is, most of those services are extremely overwhelmed with niche requirements, like you have to be a woman with children experiencing an abusive relationship with a police report filed (literally that specific), or a felon who has only certain types of convictions and has been homeless for more than 1 year (yes, that specific!).
And the homeless have NO representation in politics and often cannot participate in politics. Almost our entire government including the judicial branch owns their own home, some own multiple homes. When we talk about the necessity of representation in politics, and how Trump wantsto round up homeless and put them in tent cities (concentration camps), which amounts to a genocide, this is a very serious conversation. And people get ANGRY when you ask them to acknowledge it or do something. Trust me, it's not the homeless who are making homelessness worse via policies.
So yeah, when reading about these fires and their homelessness, please always contextualize it with the homeless crisis that already exists and who is truly more disadvantaged by climate change and American corporate fascism and corporate feudalism.
The homeless stayed outside while the toxic ash and smoke came in from the fires. The homeless lack insurance and money to see doctors about health effects from this.
Oh and PS, the people who commit the most crime and rob the most are not the homeless (who are most likely to be victims to arrest comparatively, and who have their own microeconomies and know how to live without money), but employers stealing from employees via wage theft:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3c9e914fa9d91f230aecc0ff812d27f4/9d640d96dfa5f942-15/s540x810/25184b5b5bfd040e297272b08f5fd49161535942.jpg)
So yeah, it's the wealthy who are criminals who project that onto the homeless.
