Lemonade - Part 5
Tumblr media
leah williamson x alessia russo x child!reader
Summary: When something bad happens to your Mummy and Daddy, you end up living with your Aunty Lessi and Aunty Leah.  But is there room for you considering they have a new baby on the way?
Chapter Summary: the aftermath of your concussion
Warnings: pregnancy, self-harm, disordered eating, bullying
a/n: sorry if this chapter is a little bit dark in parts. if you're still reading the series, thanks so much for sticking with me. I appreciate it more than you know.
|| Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3 || Part 4 ||
PART 5
You woke up on a plastic bed in a room that smelled like the awful cream your Mummy would rub on her legs after Netball, surrounded by a million different kinds and colours of sellotape.
You could hear voices, and you looked over to the corner of the room to find your Aunty Leah consoling your Aunty Lessi as she cried.  She looked distraught, her eyes red and puffy with tears.
“I should have known it would overwhelm her.  I was just so excited to share this with her…”
“Babe, she’s going to be okay.  We’re still learning all this, yeah?”
“But we’re meant to protect her, and… and I- I…” Aunty Lessi choked on her words before Aunty Leah cut her off.
“And I should have had a tighter grip on her when I saw she was panicking.  Like I said, we’re both still learning how to do this.  The medics said she’s got a bit of a concussion, but she’ll be alright.  We know how concussions work, so we’ve just got to keep our eyes on her and make sure she gets lots and lots of rest.”
There was a quiet knock at the door, before an important looking lady with a clipboard came in.
“Less, sorry but we need to know if you’re going to play the second half or not?” she asked.
As your Aunties turned toward the door, they realised that you were awake.
“Oh Bunny, sweetie, you’re awake.  How are you feeling?” your Aunty Lessi rushed over to you, her hands coming down to gently cradle the sides of your head.
You looked up at her a bit stunned, rather confused about why you were where you were and why everyone seemed so upset.
“Does your head hurt?  Do you feel sick or dizzy at all?” she asked, her hand softly brushing through your hair.
You tried to think about if you felt sick or dizzy, but all you could really feel was a powerful throbbing rattling through your head.  You also felt really, really tired.  But you had just woken up, so that could perhaps explain that.  You don’t remember going to sleep though, which was starting to concern you.
“I feel okay,” you replied, trying to brush away your Aunty’s concern.
“Alessia, sorry, we need t-” the lady at the door began to ask again.
“I won’t be playing, sorry.  My family is more important right now,” Aunty Lessi told her.
“Less, you should go play.  I’ll stay with Bunny and make sure she’s-”
Your Aunty Lessi whipped around to face Aunty Leah. “No, Leah.  I’m not leaving her.  She’s hurt.   We’ll get a car to take us back to the training centre so we can go home early,” she insisted firmly.
Aunty Leah replied with a sad smile and a nod.  “I’ll go get our stuff packed up then, yeah?”
“I’m okay Aunty Lessi, you should play!” you tried to insist.
“No Bunny, there would be no point in me playing anyways.  I would be so distracted out there and worrying about you I would probably kick the ball into the wrong goal by mistake.”
By the time you finally got back home that night, your head was still pounding and you were struggling to stay awake.  You were trying your hardest to be big and brave and pretend like you were okay, but as soon as you stepped into bath, your whole façade fell apart.  As the warm water lapped at your tense muscles, which you now realised you’d been clenching in an effort to distract from the pain in your head, your resolve melted and you began to weep.
You brought your knees up to your chest and dropped your head forward, your hands entwining at the back of your head as your little body shook with each sob.  The tears and jagged breaths only intensified the pain in your head though, which in turn caused more tears and jagged breaths.  You tried your hardest to stay as quiet as possible, but you were aware that your cries were becoming increasingly vocal.
There was soon a soft knock at the door, followed by your Aunty Lessi’s voice.  Whilst making sure you still got clean and dressed, your Aunties had always tried to give you your privacy while bathing and dressing, which you appreciated.  They were your Aunties, but it still felt weird being undressed around people who weren’t your parents.
“Bunny?  Are you okay?” she called through the closed door.
“It hurts” you cried in response.
“What hurts honey?”
“Everything.  My head hurts most.”
“How about we give you some medicine to make it hurt less, yeah?”
“Okay.”
“And then we can get you to bed, and you can try and get some rest, alright?”
“Okay.”
There was a short pause.  You’d assumed your Aunty had gone away to get the medicine, but then you heard her voice again.
“Bun, you don’t always have to try and be big and brave y’know?  If you’re hurting, you can tell us.  Always.  I promise you won’t be in trouble or we won’t make fun of you or anything.  We just want you to feel okay.”
“Okay.”
You didn’t fully believe her.  You wanted to, but a part of you still believed that there was only so much love and affection to go around and you needed to space that out at least until Lemonade arrived.  You didn’t want to use it all up on this incident.
So you tried your hardest to push the pain down and away as you quickly washed yourself.  You managed to get yourself up and out of the bath and wrapped in a towel before there was a knock at the door again.
“You can come in,” you mumbled, making sure the towel was secured tightly under your arms.
Your Aunty Lessi entered with a little cup filled with pink medicine and a cup of water.  She kneeled down to your height as she offered it to you.
“Now it says strawberry flavoured on the bottle, so hopefully it won’t taste too bad.”
You gingerly took the cup and gulped the medicine down, wincing at the distinctly fake strawberry taste.  You quickly grabbed the cup of water from your Aunty’s other hand and skulled that down to wash away the lingering flavour.
“Good job, Bun.  Now let’s get you into your PJ’s and into bed, yeah?”
By the time you were under the covers, arms tightly wrapped around your beloved Arthur, the pain in your head had dulled to only a mild ache.
“Goodnight sweet girl” your Aunty Lessi whispered, kissing the top of your head.
“Night Aunty Lessi” you mumbled back.
It was the first time you slept through the night without waking up to a nightmare since the fire.
--
You woke up to the smell of Aunty Lessi’s lasagne wafting through the house.  However, as you opened your eyes and came to your senses, you immediately panicked.
You were not in your own bed.
You were in your Aunties bed.
You had no idea how you’d come to be in their bed.  The last thing you remembered you were lying on the floor in the loungeroom studying one of the books the Arsenal girls had given you about football.  You were trying to understand where all the different positions were on the pitch and what responsibilities each position had.  You had been figuring out the difference between a centre-back and a full-back when you had… fallen asleep.
Bad. Bad. Bad.
Whilst it had been a few days now since your accident and you’d had a couple of days off school and your head no longer hurt, you were still feeling extra extra tired from your concussion.  You’d spent most of that day at school trying to hide your yawns from your teacher and classmates.  When you’d been given some free time after finishing one of your activities ahead of the rest of the class, the same group of students that always seemed to catch you at your weakest had caught you dozing off in the corner of the room where you’d been reading.  They’d tied your shoelaces together and were starting to draw on your arm when you woke up.  You hadn’t realised they’d also put rolled up pieces of paper in your hair braid until your Aunty Leah pointed them out when she picked you up.
You’d tried to brush it off and said it was just a game all the kids were playing with each other, but the concerned frown your Aunty gave you implied she didn’t quite believe your lie.
“You know you can tell us if there’s anything going wrong at school, yeah?  If anyone’s picking on you or calling you names or anything?”
You just nodded.  There was no way you would ever tell your Aunties what was really happening at school.  You would just deal with it like a big girl.  Push through.  Be brave.  They had bigger things to worry about than some kids putting paper in your hair and saying mean things.  Your Aunty Leah was growing a human AND mending her busted knee for heaven’s sake!  You could deal with some silly paper in your hair.
When you’d got back to the house, you went straight to your room to undo your braid and pluck all the little pieces of paper from your hair.  You’d counted them (23 in total) before scrunching them up and throwing them in the little wastepaper basket beside your desk.
As the paper hit the basket, a tiny ball of raging heat began bubbling in your chest.  You didn’t know what to do with it or how to describe it, but it made you want to stomp your feet and hit a wall and scratch at your skin.  You’d never been the best at describing emotions, but you were pretty certain this wasn’t sadness.  Perhaps, this was anger? Frustration? Disappointment?
The tiny ball continued to bubble and grow as you lunged for your bed where Arthur lay.  You attempted desperately to use your tried and tested method of rubbing his ear against your cheek to calm the feeling, and whilst it felt nice, it did nothing to soothe your need to stomp or hit or scratch.
You searched your room urgently for something else to ease the searing heat in your chest, even gulping down the remnants of a cup of water on your bedside table.  But nothing worked.  You needed to stomp or hit or scratch.  You knew couldn’t stomp your feet or hit a wall, because that would be loud, and your Aunty would hear and come ask what was wrong.  So, you decided to scratch.
You had to pick somewhere not too visible so that if you left a mark, nobody would see and ask what happened.  So, you tugged up the hem of your school dress and pushed down your tights and began scratching at the skin at the top of your right thigh.
The relief was instant.
The second your nails dug into your flesh, the little ball of heat in your chest began to cool.  You scratched and scratched, and scratched some more until it finally, finally disappeared.  By the time you eventually stopped, your skin was stinging, and your fingers were cramping.  But the little ball of heat was gone, and that was all that mattered.
There was a gentle knock on the door as you speedily pulled your tights back up, wincing as they brushed against your newly tender skin.
Your Aunty Leah popped her head in through the door, “Bun, do you want a snack? I got some blueberry muffins from the bakery…”
“Oh… um, yeah, I’ll be right down, just getting that paper out of my hair,” you mumbled, quickly running your fingers through the ends of your messy blonde mane.
“Alright, I’ll pop them in the microwave to warm them up,” she replied before heading back downstairs to do so.
As you heard her footsteps fade away, you turned around and pulled your tights down again, trying with all your might not to release a pained noise as the fabric ripped away from your newly raw skin.  The area you’d scratched was an angry red colour and the skin seemed wet, but there was no blood, which whilst a relief, made no sense to you.
Not wanting to keep your Aunty waiting, you hastily pulled your tights the rest of the way off and threw them in your laundry hamper.  The house was warm enough, but you decided to grab your soft little blanket that had purple and grey clouds, as well as the book on football you had been reading and the little notebook you’d been making notes in (and Arthur of course), and head downstairs.
“Perfect timing Bun, just took them out of the microwave.  Do you want a drink?”
“I’m okay.  Thank you, Aunty Leah, this looks lovely” you replied, climbing up onto a stool in front of the kitchen bench where a little plate with a yummy looking blueberry muffin sat.
“Well, we all know the kitchen is Aunty Lessi’s domain.  That woman can cook like a dream!  But I’m not too shabby at picking out a good pastry.  I guess you could say bread and bread-adjacent foods are my domain,” she teased.
You giggled as you tucked into your muffin, appreciating your Aunty Leah’s silly jokes about how bad at cooking she was and how limited the range of foods she ate was.  Your extended family often seemed to tease her a bit about being a picky eater and she would usually laugh it off or join in on the joke.  But you knew it was something she was actually a bit self-conscious about.
A few days into your stay here you’d gone to the fridge to grab some milk for your cereal and had accidentally knocked a container off a shelf.  As you bent down to pick it up, you noticed a little letter stuck to the lid that read “Leah, my love, it’s okay if you can’t eat this.  I know you tried and I’m proud of you.  Please just make sure you eat something or at least have a protein smoothie.  For you and for ‘L’.  Love you – xx Less.”  You’d immediately felt guilty for reading it as you rushed to put it back on the shelf, knowing you’d intruded on a bit of your Auntie’s privacy.  You’d seen a few similar little notes stuck to containers since then.  At the time you’d been very confused about what “for you and for ‘L’” meant, but you had since figured out it meant ‘for you and for Lemonade’.
When you finished your muffin, you wriggled off the stool and headed over to place your plate in the dishwasher.
“Are you done with your plate too, Aunty Leah?” you offered.
“Oh, thanks sweetie, you didn’t have to do that,” she replied as she passed you her plate with a smile.  “Feel free to watch something on the telly if you want.  I’ve got a bit of boring adult housework stuff to catch up on before Aunty Lessi gets home.”
“Is there anything you need help with?” you asked.
“No, no.  I’ve just got to do a couple of loads of laundry and there’s no way I would make you deal with Aunty Lessi’s gross smelly training socks!  It’s bad enough poor little Lemonade is stuck with me and can’t escape from it,” she laughed, jokingly shielding her belly from the smell.
“Is it okay if I just read in the loungeroom?” you asked.
“Of course it is!  Just remember if your head starts to hurt or you’re feeling too tired or anything, to have a rest, yeah?” she smiled at you, stroking her fingers affectionately through your hair.
“I will, thank you.”
So, you made yourself comfortable in a little spot on the loungeroom floor, surrounded by a couple of cushions, the blanket you’d brought down from your room and, of course, Arthur.  Soon you were laying on your belly, nose deep in the book and jotting down notes in your notebook all about what a penalty shootout was and what circumstances led to one.  You drew a little picture of the goal and the line markings and where the goalie had to stand and where the other players had to stand, before turning back to the book to read about in-game penalties when slowly but suddenly you… were… asleep.
The next thing you knew you were waking up in your Auntie’s bed to the smell of your Aunty Lessi’s lasagna.
The realisation hit you like a hundred bolts of lightning.
You’d slept in someone else bed.
Bad. Bad. Bad.
Bad things happen when you sleep in someone else’s bed.
The last time you’d slept in someone else’s bed, your house burned down, and your Mummy and Daddy had died.
You jumped out of the bed as though it was burning you, panic rattling all through your little body.
“Bad. Bad. Bad.”
Your right hand began hitting at the side of your head before you even knew it was happening.
“Bad. Bad. Bad.”
Your other hand clawed at the skin of your neck, scratching determinedly at the tender skin there.
“Bad! Bad! Bad!”
You tried so hard to stop them, but your feet began to stomp loudly, your whole body seemingly moving with a mind of its own.  Everything around you seemed like it was spinning.  You thought you could smell smoke and when your eyes began to water you weren’t sure if it was because you were crying or if it was because there was actually smoke.
You vaguely heard a commotion and saw the door swing open, but everything around you continued to spin making you feel like throwing up.  You couldn’t throw up in your Auntie’s bedroom!
“Bad! Bad! Bad!”
“Bunny?  Sweetie, what’s going on?”
You could hear your Aunty Lessi’s voice and feel her presence, but the only word you could think was ‘BAD’.
“Bad! Bad! Bad!”
The word kept falling from your lips and you continued to stomp and hit and scratch.
“Okay, Bun.  I’m going pick you up so you stop hurting yourself sweetie.  I need to make you nice and safe, alright?”
Again, you heard your Aunty but all you could think was ‘BAD’.
“Bad! Bad! Bad!”
Carefully you felt your Aunty wrap her arms around you, trapping your arms and lifting you off the ground.  You struggled as your body fought to keep hitting and scratching and stomping, but she gently tugged your hands away from your neck and head, tucking them tightly against her chest.
“You’re okay, lovely.  You’re safe, I promise.  It’s just you, me and Aunty Leah here okay.  Nothing bad is going to happen alright?  We’re safe.  You’re safe.  Everything’s okay…”
“Bad. Bad. Bad.”
“What do you mean by bad, Bun?” Aunty Lessi asked.
You shook your head, unable to explain yourself.  All you could say was “bad.”
“Oh sweetie, you haven’t done anything bad.  You’re not in any kind of trouble.  I promise.  And nothing bad is going to happen either, okay?” she whispered.
You began to slowly unclench in her arms, comforted by the soothing way she was swaying gently.  Eventually you opened your eyes to see your Aunty Leah standing in the doorway watching on, her face red and blotchy as though she’d been crying.
You immediately came back into your body, realising whatever you’d just done had upset your Aunty Leah.  You tried to wriggle slightly to free yourself from your Aunty Lessi’s grip, but she tightened her hold.
“Not yet sweetie.  I need to what’s going on?  What happened?” she asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed with you in her lap.
“I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry.  I didn’t mean to be bad and upset Aunty Leah.  I’m so sorry.  I promise I’ll be good.  I promise.”
“Darling, you didn’t upset me” your Aunty Leah assured you as she came over to sit next to Aunty Lessi on the bed.
“But your face is blotchy like you’ve been crying” you replied, your Aunty Lessi finally loosening her grip on her as your reached toward Aunty Leah.
“Well, it’s because I have been, but it’s not because you upset me.  I’m just worried about you is all.  Why were you hurting yourself?” she asked, taking your hand in hers.
“I just had to.  I don’t know.  I just did.  I was bad.”  You jumped off Aunty Lessi’s lap and started pacing on the floor in front of her and Aunty Leah.   “I woke up in this bed and I had no idea why I was in your bed and all I could think was ‘bad’ and I just did it without realising.”
“I washed your sheets and they’re in the dryer.  So, when you fell asleep on the loungeroom floor, I just put you in here for your nap.  I didn’t mean for it to upset you so much, sweetie,” Aunty Leah explained, tears still rolling down her cheeks.
“You didn’t upset me, I just I don’t want you and Aunty Lessi and Lemonade to die too!”
You heard your Aunties gasp at your explanation, but you just kept pacing, trying to figure out a way to stop the inevitable from happening.
“Bunny, oh my goodness, why would Aunty Leah and Lemonade and I die because you had a nap in our bed?”
“Because that’s what happened when I slept in Mummy and Daddy’s bed!”
You watched as your Aunties exchanged a series of looks.  The seemed confused and shocked, which was confusing and shocking to you, because it all seemed so obvious.
“Darling, your Mummy and Daddy didn’t die because you slept in their bed,” Aunty Leah tried to tell you.
“Yes, they did!  They did.  They DID!  I know they did!  It’s the only thing different I did that night from all the other nights.  I had done so so good all summer getting into my big girl routine and kept it up really well for the first couple of weeks of school.  But then… then I slipped up, and I was bad and I asked to sleep in bed with Mummy and Daddy that night.  And and th- the fire happened.  And if I had of been in my own room, I could have got myself out.  Because we’d practiced.  Daddy made sure we practiced.  And and and then… then Da-Daddy wouldn’t have needed to get me out and he could have helped Mummy because of her leg.  And they could have got out too.  But I was bad.  I slept in a bed that wasn’t mine.  When I should have just slept in my own bed, like a good girl.  Like a big girl.  And now they’re dead.  They’re both dead.  And it’s my fault.  And now what if you die too!?”

♫ 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚢𝚕𝚒𝚜𝚝. what a diff'rence a day made by dinah washington ♫
Today had been overwhelming, to say the least, you thought to yourself as the woman bent over the center consul to retrieve something out of her bag. Her ass was firmly hugged by the cargos she wore and you had the temptation to press your hips against her. You found your lips back between your teeth only to relieve them as she looked down at you. Her mouth was slightly damp from the swipe of a tongue before she spoke. This was fucked up, right? Ogling over a woman older than you but more so another woman when you had Ellie.
“Should I bring anything?” You asked.
“Just yourself, a few pictures and I’ll bring my research too.”
She leaned against the shining truck with such machismo that it made you want to submit to her. Ellie never made you feel that way. Was it the heat causing the delirium?
“Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow then.” You mutter, trying to think of something other than her arms and how they’re delicately crossed enough to lift and frame her petite breasts.
She raised her eyebrows to say a quiet goodbye with a side smirk and you avoided her eyes and continued walking. A weight sank to the bottom of your ankles making it seem like you were slugging through mud. Abby looked more excited pounding a nail into wood than speaking to you. Her face had a general exhaustion as if she was translating adult words to a baby. For the first time since being home, you wished the neighborhood had a little more clamor to distract you from the turmoil pooling in your brain.
꒰ঌ ໒꒱
Ellie was in your shower, washing the dirt from today’s job off her body. The door was open and the pale bubbles on her skin should entice you to jump in with her. But you just watched and wondered what was changing? When you first got together all you wanted to do was be in her skin. Generally, it felt good to be with Ellie. To know that you can achieve a level of companionship with someone else was accomplishment enough.
“Hey,” she hollers over the falling water. “C’mere.”
The drop of her voice was soft like her wet hair with shampoo still looped between her inky strands.
“El, turn around.”
She turns without hesitating, as you tilt her chin back to rinse out the suds. She opens her eyes and brings her lips to yours. For a moment it does feel good. Her mouth is slick and warm.Ellie's hands come to your shoulders, wet with body wash as she deepens the kiss. Although the water splashes onto the floor, you don’t care, it’ll be replaced soon anyway. Your mind dots off to think about Abby in your bedroom this morning. It was foreign seeing her in a space where you never imagined her to be. She looked out of place but had the potential to fit in.
Ellie laces her hands behind your neck, tongue sliding inside with no force. She moans gently into your mouth and you bring your hand to her darkened crotch. Her kiss became carnivorous at the sudden action. Nails sharpening into skin, barring her teeth, and soggy smacking. It had been so long since you initiated any contact with her. The groan that vibrated off the walls showed that too.
“I love you.” She whispers into your ear.
Her mouth lingers there, waiting for your response, but something chokes you up. Like a cough or a sickened throat. “You’re my everything El.” You reply.
It wasn’t a lie, you loved Ellie for everything she was. But you knew she could sense a change in your behavior and you hoped that this orgasm you were giving to her would hold off her suspicion.
Ellie looked out the window and watched the neighbors follow their decades-old routines. She liked their displays of solitude and never failed to tell you about how she wanted that too. You came up beside her, holding the small of her back, peering towards the line of cherry trucks, wondering what Abby was up to now. Ellie turns to place a welcoming kiss on your cheek with her hand following shortly behind.
“I’m sorry.” She said.
“Ellie, what?”
“I’m thinking too far into the future. I know I need to be present with you.”
You scoff. “I’m just a little stressed. Has nothing to do with you, you're perfect.”
“Let's talk,”
You both travel to the bed and she takes your fingers into her hands.
“It’s a lot. I just want to be here with you.” You lean in to kiss her.
“You can tell me anything. I’m here for you.”
It was unusual for you to put yourself onto Ellie like this but you did, again. Pulling her pants to the floor after you got up and locked the door. You wanted her to shut up and three fingers were the solution. You closed your eyes with your face buried into her hot collarbone, wishing it was someone else’s, not particularly Abby’s but not Ellie’s. A rupture of tears threatened to spill over as Ellie came to a climax, covering her mouth with a quivering hand. She turned to you just before any tears fell as you excused yourself to the bathroom.
You started to think about the conversations you and Ellie had often, which always led to the same thing. Someone gripping the bed frame and falling asleep to do it again the next day. Even with Ellie snoring on your shoulder amongst the orchestrated noises of bird chirps and lawnmowers, all you could think of was your meeting with Abigail tomorrow.
The night seemed long as you carefully removed Ellie from your body to tidy your room. It was more than embarrassing that Abby came into your room and almost fell over because of the mess. You didn’t have the will to start unboxing your college life because that meant it was time to face reality. As you sorted the items, you thought about what someone like Abby enjoyed doing outside of working 10-hour days. Obviously, she worked out, probably more out of necessity to keep her figure at her age. What else did she like? Your hands dust off a cover of Carmilla, and you stifle your laugh as you recall the story of blood lust and women. Ellie never understood your desire to read. She didn’t understand much about you, not that you wanted to think about that often.
Dating someone who took the trade school route versus college has created tension in your relationship. Ellie was a smart girl who knew what she wanted but never related to your stress in college. She was street smart, not book smart. When midterms rolled around you had to explain to her the importance that you two keep distance so you can focus. She accused you of desiring a connection with college more than her. She was insecure that you got to experience something she always imagined. Before you two were dating she would sit in the bar and brag about how she didn’t need school to be successful, as a way to flirt, but it came off as ignorance. So, that translated in various ways such as conversations about your career, the relationship, and even books.
She would kiss your neck to get the attention back on her when you read before bed. When you playful shoved you away that’s when she’d ice you out for hours. It was exhausting. Ellie wanted you to be hers in a different way. She did celebrate you and you appreciated that but there was an unspoken desire for you to be her wife in a traditional sense. She wanted you to follow her, no matter what. She was shocked when you denied her immediate advances to move away with her for the new job.
“I thought you loved me? I thought we were going somewhere?” Her brow furrowed.
“We are, I promise but I can’t just do what you want and not discover who I am before settling down.”
I’m your idea of settling, huh? She said quietly to herself but you pretended not to hear her.
“I want us to be together. I don’t like that long-distance shit, okay?”
You wanted to challenge her more but just sat quietly and you two didn’t speak on it for the rest of the day, proceeding as if what happened didn’t warrant more conversation. Shortly after Ellie's hands were between your legs to apologize. That's just the way you two operated.
Ellie stirs under the loose sheet and you dart your eyes over to her. You pull out more books and line them up against the wall getting startled by your phone vibrating on your side table.
1:30 AM: Would it be a bother for you to provide some shades of black and gold with your findings too?
You look at Ellie with her mouth open and body pressed deeply into the mattress before replying. Normal business hours were not a thing to Ms. Anderson, obviously. A message at 1 am caused you to squirm a little, and a shocking edge of exhilaration coursed through your body. Any normal person would simply reply in the morning but it wasn’t as simple as that.
1:32 AM: not at all.
1:32 AM: Thank you :)
Your eyes become one with the typed emoticon. As if Abby's eyes are the colons and pooling deep blue right before you. Something so simple but it made a part of you grin. A rush came through your body as you looked out the dark window, hoping she'd magically appear outside your window, and beckon you to come outside. Such immature thoughts, you whispered to yourself.
1:34 AM: no problem, have a good night.
She just left the message on read. That feeling you had vanished quicker than it came. That was stupid, you thought as Ellie mumbled a string of unintelligible words. She sits up, stretching her legs by throwing her feet over the edge of the bed and shuffling over to you. You lock your phone and place it back in its original place, face down.
“Come on, I need you. I just got so cold.” She demands, holding your waist.
You didn’t tell Ellie about the consultation with Abby, it wasn’t needed. She would be at work and you’d go to her place just after the meeting. You didn't feel compelled to share, so you didn't. To keep yourself busy you broke down all the leftover boxes and took them outside to the recycling. Only one truck was parked on your street. You shrugged like you didn't care but you grew curious about where Ms. Anderson spent her morning.
Abby’s office was only thirty minutes away and you drove slow to not seem as eager and still arrived on time. A large bubble felt as if it was going to pop any moment when you saw her truck in the driveway. Her office was her house. She lived at the peak of a dead-end road covered by the twinkling of leaves above her home. Any normal person would let the collection of branches and acorns rot in the street but as a woman who owns a landscaping business, it was the opposite. Even the carving of the bushes left you in awe — you couldn’t believe you suddenly took such an interest in bushes. She had the address printed onto a rectangular yard lantern surrounded by a pool of ruby-red roses. It was beautiful.
The door swings open as you’re tilted downwards smelling the flowers in front of you. You were slightly embarrassed she caught you and removed your hand from the stem. She squints with what you see is a small grin and welcomes you in. The scent emitting from her house is syrupy vanilla and pine. A combination that's pungent yet sweet. Abby is wearing dark blue jeans and a white button-down shirt with her skin exposed underneath, just shy of two undone buttons. Against the white linen, her skin is specked with brown freckles that deepen her slightly warm skin. Her hair had been brushed and bone straight with grown-out layers you didn’t get to see with her hair up.
“Hope it wasn’t too scary finding the place.” She says, being the personification of sunshine.
You look down at her feet, covered in Superman socks hidden under the cuff of her long jeans.
“Not at all, it’s nice that you have this little section of the neighborhood all to yourself.” You add, slipping your shoes off in front of the entrance. Her body is warm behind yours as she moves to close the door. Her living room was small but the floor-to-ceiling oak bookshelves were an impressive use of space. The couch is in the middle of the room, peeling with softened worn leather. Instead of a TV, there was an out-of-commission fireplace with a mantle above it. There were a few photos in mismatched frames and stacked books with titles you could not read.
“I was super lucky when I found it.”
You were scared to turn to her but finally did. With her hands on her hips, she nodded for you to follow her into the other room. You took a swift look into her kitchen before turning left down the hallway to her office. It was painted a pale yellow with black and white portraits in black frames of houses she remodeled. The large wooden desk was pushed against the far wall, peering over the backyard. The sun shuttered through the leaves casting a beautiful shadow onto the healthy, neon-green lawn. Abby built the fence and had a garden bed in the far corner, a compost hidden near a bush, and one lone white lounge lawn chair in the middle of it all. Another wall of books crowded the room with words on architecture and lifestyle.
“I would love to live here,” You mutter, turning towards Abby leaning in the door frame. She admires her handiwork which makes you wonder how much of this house she remodeled. “Seems… peaceful.”
“It is when you can enjoy it. I’m looking to move out of the hands-on position to being the big boss behind the desk.”
“I am sure you’ll have no problems with that.” You reply, observing the plain floorboards to avoid her eyes.
“Would you like something to drink?” She asks.
You notice her thumbs rotating within each other and her mouth twisting as she asks you the question. You welcome whatever she’d like to bring you, hoping it was wine to loosen her, but knowing it wouldn’t be. But seeing her so casually made you relax a little. You sat at her desk, legs crossed, looking at the seclusion of her life. This was a level of solitude you could become accustomed to.
“Arnold Palmer. I hope you like it. One of my neighbors has a lemon tree and she brings them to me all the time, so it may be a bit tart.” She reaches behind you to place the glass on your right side, the flowing linen brushes your back gently, leaving you desiring more. She pulls out another chair and a folder stuffed in the drawer with your last name on it.
“So, black and gold?” She asked, with a joking charisma.
You bring the glass up to your lips and turn to her, swiping your tongue on your tangy bottom lip. The brush of your knee against her thick pants makes you retract and slide further back on the chair to create a professional distance. Up close her eyes twinkled under the warm light stretching through the window. You felt a pool quake beneath you. Suddenly you wished you didn’t put yourself in this position. So close to her, in her home, with lingering thoughts of her bedroom plaguing your mind. You imagined all-white bedding with many soft pillows and two bedside tables. A large window overlooking the front yard and sheer blue curtains. Maybe even a small desk in the corner stacked with old books.
“Is that boring to you?”
“What? Black and gold? I mean no, it’s not about me.” She shrugged.
“But I value your professional opinion.” You retort.
Her icy eyes widen at the comment, either shocked by your directness or desire to hear what she has to say. You wipe your forehead with the back of your palm and direct your gaze to the folder in front of you.
“Okay well, I think you should go for something more unique. Fun tiling, I can definitely have a custom vanity put in there, a standard upright shower.”
You blinked and suddenly she had a pencil in her hand, sketching on a blank sheet of graphing paper. Her lines were loose but neat, you watched how the tip of her index finger guided the graphite on the thin sheet.

Can we go home? | Katie McCabe
Tumblr media
Pairing: Katie McCabe x Reader
Prompt: "Can we go home?"
Masterlist | Woso masterlist | words: 1k
Katie had asked you to be her plus one to the house warming party her teammate Leah Williamson was throwing. You had only been dating Katie for a couple of months, and were excited to see her teammates again. You had met the Arsenal girls on a couple of occasions now, and they were some of the nicest people you had ever met.
When you arrive at Leah’s new house, you and Katie go around greeting everyone with a hug before Leah gives the both of you a quick tour. You loved her new place and were sure to tell her so, after the tour you joined the others back downstairs. You started catching up with some of the girls, while Katie went to check out the dj set Leah had recently purchased. Of course, Katie urged Leah to show off her dj skills to her big audience and the party really started. Music started blasting through the room and alcoholic beverages were passed around.
You were enjoying yourself at first, but the longer you were at the party the more overstimulated you got. The sound of the music seemed to get louder and louder, drunk people that were unintentionally talking louder, and the many different conversations happening around you all started to mix and become too much. You decide to slip out the back unnoticed by the group in the living room.
The porch seating area was rather comfortable, you settled under a blanket and started scrolling on your phone. After a while the backdoor opens and Katie walks out, “There you are! I’ve been looking for you.” She sits down next to you, and you immediately lean into her warmth. “Why are you sitting out here? It’s getting pretty cold.” You shrug your shoulders, “It was just getting a bit too loud in there.” Katie’s brow furrows, “Are you wanting to go back in?” She asks, trying to figure out why you hadn’t said anything. “No, not really.” You say softly, scared of her response. “Oh, baby, why didn’t you say anything?” You looked up at her as if it was obvious why, “I didn’t want to ruin your night.” Katie looked perplexed. “Why would that ruin my night?”
You read her face, trying to figure out if she’s joking or not. “Because, you are still having fun at the party and I don’t want you to have to leave because of me.” Katie starts to figure out what is happening. “Is this one of those things that your ex made you believe?” You nod in response. Katie shakes her head in disbelief. “Well, that is very toxic of them, and I am so sorry that they made you believe that.” She pulls you closer into her body and you snuggle into her. “Please tell me whenever you feel like you want to leave, I do not care if I am still having fun. If you are no longer having fun, or you’re no longer comfortable, I would rather go home and you be comfortable.” She tells you while rubbing her hands over your arms. “I would never make you stay because I am still having fun, your wellbeing matters more.” A few tears roll down your cheeks, overwhelmed with the comfort and support from your girlfriend.
Katie sits in silence with you for a moment, just holding you and making sure you know she meant what she said. “Would you like to sit here for a bit longer, or do you want to go home?” You take a deep breath, still a little scared that maybe Katie wouldn’t be honest about it being okay. “Can we go home?” Katie stands and helps you up, “Yeah, come one, let’s get our stuff.” She takes your hand and intertwines her fingers with yours. Before she walks back into the house, she kisses your lips softly. “Thank you for sharing that with me, I know it wasn’t easy.”
She keeps you close while you make your way through the crowd, making her way to Leah. “Hey Leah, we’re heading out. Thank you so much for tonight.” Katie says and hugs her goodnight, you follow and do the same. Katie grabs your hand and again and walks you to the little hallway, grabbing both of your coats before stepping out of the front door. She helps you put on your coat, you laugh at the gesture, but happily comply. After she zips it up she pecks your lips, “Let’s go home.”
Back at Katie’s home she walks you over to the couch, “Wait here.” A few minutes later she comes back with two cups of hot chocolate. “To warm up.” You once again cuddle into her, grateful for how she reacted to the situation. After you finished your hot chocolate, Katie placed the cups on the coffee table. When she sits back down you’ve turned your body her way. She places her arm over the back of the couch, waiting for you to share what was going through your mind.
You study her facial features, smiling at how lucky you were to have met Katie. “What is it, darling?” She asks, placing her other hand on your knee. “Thank you for tonight, you are the best.” Katie smiles, “Of course, you don’t have to thank me for that.” You lean in and kiss her, moving your hand to the nape of her neck to pull her closer. Katie smiles into the kiss, and you feel your heart start being faster, this was the moment. You pull away slightly, looking into her sparkling eyes. “I love you.” You tell her for the first time. Katie’s smile grows, “I love you too.” Your heart warms, knowing that she felt as strongly about you as you did about her. Katie pulls your body into hers and holds you tight, placing soft kisses to your head. There might have been some downsides to this evening but you would always remember it as a good day, thanks to Katie.

Hi! I was wondering if you could do a Seungkwan version of Cheol and Hannie's calling you clingy in front of the boys?
say you love me | boo seungkwan
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
genre | angst & fluff
word count | 1.6k
pairing | seungkwan x reader
author's note | this was actually so hard to write, cuz boo is the fluffiest fluff to ever fluff
“It’s your turn Seungkwan.”
After weeks of busy schedules, restless nights and days spent locked up in a studio, your boyfriend and his bandmates got a few days off, getting the time to properly rest before going back to even crazier schedules due to their upcoming comeback.
You almost squealed when Seungkwan told you that he was going to have a short break, because you couldn’t remember the last time you got to wake up next to him, or even find the time to give him a goodbye kiss before going to work.
Despite your obvious excitement, your boyfriend on the other hand, didn’t seem as happy as you were.
At first you brushed it off - of course he must've been very stressed and overwhelmed, so his mind must’ve surely been cluttered about thoughts of work, but you figured that this break was going to be the perfect time to spend some quality time, maybe you could even manage to go on a trip somewhere.
But as you were sitting in his and Jeonghan’s apartment, the boys’ loud laughs echoing through the living room as they played a board game, Seungkwan still looked like something was bothering him.
“Seungwkan,” Seungcheol repeated, trying to get the younger man's attention. “Sorry. Got a little distracted,” he could bullshit everyone around him, but all of the boys and you knew that he wasn’t just “a little distracted”.
For the past three hours he had been unusually silent, which was the first red flag, because Seungkwan was never silent.
With a look full of worry, you scooted closer to him, until your thighs were touching. “You sure everything is alright, baby?” You asked quietly, wrapping your hand around his bicep, gently stroking it with your thumb.
You leaned in to place a kiss on his shoulder, when he shifted away from you, reaching for a water bottle.
Your brows furrowed in confusion, because Seungkwan never dismissed your affection, especially physical, and he was definitely doing it now.
“Boo, please tell me what’s wrong,” you said in a hushed tone, noticing how his hands were shaking as he was holding the bottle. You covered one of them with your own in hopes that it would bring him some kind of comfort, because you couldn’t stand seeing him so obviously anxious.
“Could you stop nagging me, and find something else to do?” His voice was much louder than yours, drawing the attention of the rest of the boys to you. “It’s really overwhelming how you’re just clinging to me.” Seungkwan said, without even looking at you.
The place went silent, as Seungcheol and Jeonghan exchanged worried expressions, not knowing whether they should say something or not. It wasn’t often that Seungkwan would snap like this, especially at you.
“No need to be so rude Seungkwan,” his full name felt like poison on your tongue. “You could’ve just let me know if I was making you feel uncomfortable,” you said, letting go of his arm.
Without sparing a second glance, you walked out of the apartment, pulling Seungkwan’s sweater tighter around yourself as you were met with the cold breeze. You didn’t realise when it had started raining, the droplets of water hitting your face one after another, sending a shiver down your spine.
You’d think this would be the worst situation to be stuck in - walking in the rain without an umbrella and no phone to use, because you stormed out of the place without bringing it with you. There was no way for you to call any of your friends, and you did not intend to go back to Seungkwan after he treated you like that.
But the way he snapped at you was so much worse for you. It didn’t help that he had never been so mean to you before, you knew that his teasing and “bullying” were just jokes.
This certainly wasn’t one.
“Fuck,” you muttered, as a passing car totally drenched you in water from the puddle on the street. You tried to pull the material of his sweater even closer to your body, but there was no use in that. You were a shaking mess, and if you didn’t change into something dry, you’d surely end up sick.
Cursing under your breath, you sat at a wet bench - it’s not like you could get any wetter. You closed your eyes for a second, before looking up at the sky, that was just as grey and sad as you were.
“Baby, what are you doing? You’re going to be sick,” all of a sudden a familiar voice pulled you out of your miserable thoughts. Turning your head towards the source of it, you noticed Seungkwan, who was just as drenched as you, his hair sticking to his forehead and the shirt he was wearing totally soaked by the rain.
It broke you, seeing his slumped shoulders and tired eyes, probably because of the numerous sleepless nights and days full of hard work, and you had to force yourself not to rush towards him and tell him that everything would be alright.
Instead you dropped your head, looking away toward the busy street, forcing yourself not to let the tears fall, even though they would most likely be covered by the rain hitting your face.
“I’m really sorry,” he said, cautiously stepping towards you, almost as if he was scared that you’d run away if he came any closer. “I know that there is no excuse for my behaviour,” his voice was shaky, just as his hands were before, and you knew that if you’d look at him, you’d burst into tears.
So you turned your head even more away from him, squeezing your eyes shut.
“I should have never snapped at you like that, and I’m really sorry,” you knew that what he was saying was true, you could hear it, but it didn’t mean it made you feel any better. “You really hurt me Seungkwan,” your voice was merely a whisper, drowning in the loud noises of the cars and the rain.
“I know. And I hate myself so much for treating you like that,” you could hear he was getting closer, and at that point the only thing you wanted to fall into his arms and forget that any of this had ever happened.
“I know that no matter what I say it won’t change what I did, and I don’t need you to forgive me,” you couldn’t stop the tears from falling onto your cheeks. You were so torn between forgiving him immediately, and screaming at him.
“But I just want you to know how fucking sorry I am, you didn’t deserve any of that. You always stick by my side no matter how hard it gets, and I took that for granted and pushed you away. I should have just talked to you, maybe try to explain how I’m feeling, but instead I treated you in the worst way possible,” even though you weren’t looking at him, you knew he was crying as well. “I pushed away the most important person in my life.”
Yes, maybe you were weak, maybe you were wrong for feeling bad for him, but love makes you do stupid things. You knew you should’ve been harder on him for snapping at you like that, for calling you clingy for god’s sake, but you couldn’t sit like that anymore.
“Please just tell me the next time you feel overwhelmed like that, and need some time alone,” you spoke up, glancing at him for the first time since he came. “I understand how burdened you are, and that you worry about a lot of stuff, but I don’t think I’ll be able t-.”
“No, please I promise I’ll never do something like that ever again,” he pleaded, kneeling in front of you, and taking your hands in his. “You can’t know that Seungkwan. But I want you to talk to me,” you squeezed his cold hands. “Just tell me when you need some time for yourself, I promise I understand that sometimes you just need to be alone.”
“I know, baby, and I was so stupid for not doing that immediately,” he lowered his head, placing it on your knees, as his body shook with his sobs. You snaked your hand around the back of his head, gently pulling at the strands of his wet hair. “You’re not stupid Boo, and don’t hate yourself for doing that. I may not forgive you right now, but don’t think about yourself like that, ever.”
He slowly lifted his head, his blood shot eyes looking straight into yours. You smiled at him, and cupped his cheek, stroking it with your thumb.
“Please, tell me that you still love me.”
Your heart broke, the way he sounded so concerned, made you want to wrap him in all of the blankets you had at home, and kiss him all night long. It hurt you so much that he’d think you didn’t love him anymore.
“Of course I still love you, baby. I guess thighs like that happen in relationships, and I would never stop loving you because of that. I’m happy that you see what you did wrong, and I know that you’ll know better now.”
“I never meant what I said. You could never be clingy.” he said, nuzzling his head further into your hand. “I know. Now let’s go, or we’ll get sick,” you said, standing up, and pulling him with you.
“Mingyu lost by the way,” Seungkwan smirked, pulling you closer to his body.
“I knew it.”

romantic 3 way with your favorite boys p2
୨୧ satoru gojo ༝  y/n ༝  suguru geto
mdni — 18+ con
The wetness of both their mouths lingers on your lips. You bite them softly, laying back once more. Your eyes shifting from Satoru to Suguru. They definitely have a plan for your wet, needy pussy.
They share a look, seeming to mutually agree on something although wordlessly.
Satoru’s hands grab at your ankles, pulling you further down to the middle of the bed. You giggle with surprise and excitement. He spreads your legs further, then lifting them up to wrap around his waist as he positions himself. His length meeting your pussy, only brushing against it, causing fiery waves to shoot through your body.
You feel movement above you and you look up, eyes coming face to face with Suguru’s throbbing, veiny cock. You bring your hands to it, tracing the mushroom-y tip. Suguru’s lips part at your touch, his eyes never leaving yours. Opening your mouth, you guide his cock with your tongue. He gives in, moving forward with his hips, his length being greeted by that hot, wet mouth of yours. Taking his cock deep into your mouth, he gives small, slow thrusts. You let your tongue explore every inch, remembering to breathe through your nose so you don’t choke.
Soft moans drip from Suguru’s lips, his eyes half closed. The softness of your mouth, the warmth overwhelming his cock with pleasure. Feeling your tongue wrap around him, maneuver so effortlessly, your slick-with-saliva lips gripping around his shaft; it makes his cock quiver. Precum escapes from the tip, the taste of bittersweet coats your tongue, flowing saliva enveloping your mouth. Suguru presses his hard, needy cock deeper into your mouth, the tip threatening to invade your throat.
Satoru guides his dick, finding your hole effortlessly. He slides it in, the length immediately filling you out. Your surprising moan is drowned out by Suguru’s cock at your throat. They both let out soft noises in response to your body. Sounds of wet pleasure fills the room, two of your holes being fucked at the same time!
Suguru thrusting into your mouth, you swallowing every bit of saliva you can before it drips from the sides of your lips, Satoru plunging deep into you, hot moans filling the soundless bedroom.
“Your pussy…” Satoru breathes. “It’s so good, so… fucking… good!”
He thrusts into you deeper, harder with every word, his balls slapping against you as he goes. You cry out in pleasure, his cock violating every inch of soft, sensitive walls you have to offer. Your insides are burning with electricity, every wet sound, every touch, every audible breath sending coursing pleasure through your helpless body.
Your body is being used for pleasure! You’re pleasuring them! You’re making them feel so good! They’re yours, you’re theirs.
Suguru’s thrusts slow, becoming deeper instead.
“Yes, take all of my dick, take it all,” he grunts. “You’re such a good girl.”
You moan, his words just as pleasurable as a touch. He grunts again, the vibrations at the back of your throat grasping at the tip of his cock. Still trying to breathe through your nose, your moans become louder and even more stifled by Suguru’s greedy cock as Satoru thrusts faster, slamming into your little pussy. His balls are smacking against you, echoing the waves of pleasure drowning you.
Suguru’s cock is growing thicker, harder. Satoru’s becoming more and more excited, his pounding almost making everyone’s moans inaudible. Nothing is more erotic than hearing them moan, showing just how good they feel when they use your body to cum.
Pressure wells up against the slamming of Satoru’s dick. Suguru glides his cock out of your mouth as billowing waves of hot pressure begin drumming inside you at every thrust.
“That’s a good girl,” Satoru coos. “Cum for us, baby.”
It grows, showing no mercy, not letting you prepare. Your mind goes blank, your body stiffening, your muscles burning as they tense. Dark, voiding waves of ecstasy blossom over you, engulfing you, every sensation becoming you.
Satoru leans down towards you, not missing a beat in thrusts, pressing his mouth to yours. You both share a warm breathed moan as you both cum, his dick burrowed deep inside you. Cum pushing away at your walls, filling you. Warmth spreads through you, overflowing in the tight space that is your pussy.
His thrusting slows, savoring the last seconds of his climax, his lips parting with heavy breaths against your mouth. He stills, slowly letting his cock slip from your now stretched and breeded hole. He falls onto the bed next to you, his fingers in your hair.
Your climax slowly washes away, color returning to your eyes as you open them lazily. Your body relaxes, now limp with satisifed exhaustion, completely docile. Satoru rests beside you, Suguru at the other side. Right back in the middle of them.
They both caress you, comforting you and leaving kisses upon your face. “Don’t get too comfortable,” Satoru smirks, flashing his pretty blue eyes to Suguru. “We’re not done with you yet.”

every time you walk into the room (i’m speechless)
| leah williamson x reader | fluff | 1.9k | inspo: speechless by dan + shay | a/n: another req let's go! this one's been in the ask box for minute and it finally made it past the outline stage! twas a fun one to write! s/o to this anon for the req! i hope i did it justice! this is the outfit inspo for leah btw!
~~~
You loved your girlfriend, you really did, but sometimes moments like these really tested your patience. She sometimes really tested your patience.
“Leah, love, for the sake of football, any chance that we could head out before the world cup starts?” You shouted up the stairs, hoping the other girl could hear you clearly.
The two of you had been invited out with the team, just a nice little get together to celebrate the end of the season before everyone parted ways to prepare with their individual national teams. It wasn’t much really, just a dinner that had the possibility of migrating to a bar or club, but nothing outwardly crazy.
You and Leah had started getting ready a while ago, you getting dressed much earlier due to Leah wanting to kick you out of your shared closet and room, something about a surprise and a kiss promising she wouldn’t be too long distracting you from complaining.
So here you were, sitting at your kitchen island for the past forty-ish minutes or so, resignedly waiting for the blonde to finally come down. Some time between the doom-scroll of Instagram and then TikTok, your mind had been severely sidetracked, the sweet aroma of your girlfriend’s favourite perfume floating down the stairs, overwhelming your sense in the best way possible, and for a while you hadn’t minded how long she was taking.
Now though? A little under half-an-hour away from the designated time for the dinner, you were beginning to worry whether you’d make it on time, well aware that London traffic and parking would be a pain to navigate.
Getting no response from earlier, you tried once more, leniency wearing thin.
Hand running across your face in a vain effort to relax, careful not to mess up your hair, you called out a bit gentler this time. “Leah we gotta leave soon otherwise we’re gonna be late!”
This time you got lucky, the frenzied voice of the defender carrying through the hallway and down the stairs.
“I’ll be down in five! Almost done, I swear…just got my hair left!”
Quietly groaning to yourself, you threw your head back, aware that five minutes weren’t going to be just five minutes.
“I heard that!”
“And yet you didn’t hear my first call! Love you too babe!”
Shaking your head and taking a deep breath, you fiddled with your keys in front of you, getting antsy with every minute that passed.
All you really wanted to do was see your girlfriend dressed up, admire her, and head out to enjoy your night with your teammates turned friends, something you were immensely excited for and therefore eager to attend to. All this waiting wasn’t doing you any good, the restlessness taking up home in your bones, jitteriness becoming ever present.
It seemed that luck was on your side though, when only about seven minutes later you could hear the defender approaching the top of the stairs. Murmuring a quiet thanks into the air, you rose from your seat, heading to the landing, hoping to usher Leah to the car quickly and head out.
Approaching the bottom steps though, you couldn’t help but stop in your tracks, the sight that awaited you when the blonde walked down the stairs making you glad you waited.
Your mouth falling agape, adoration pouring in your veins, you couldn’t help but stare.
“I-…Leah…baby…” You tried, words not seeming to fall past your lips, at least none that would do justice to just how beautiful she looked standing there ahead of you.
Blinking, mind short-circuiting, you stood there stunned, speechless.
Leah wasn’t going to lie, she had expected this reaction from you, with the number of times she had already witnessed it in the past. Yet, each time it didn’t fail to cause her to blush gently, your love for her always surprising her, making her appreciate you just a little more.
Head ducking down, biting back a smile, Leah’s soft voice wrapped around you. “What do you think? Worth the wait?”
“Uh-“ Swallowing hard, you tried to regain your bearings, praying for your internal gay panic to stop for long enough to allow you to form at least one coherent sentence. Letting your eyes trace over her stunning form, you tried once again.
“Shit.”
“That bad?” Leah couldn’t help but tease you, aware that you meant it in awe, yet not willing to pass the opportunity to annoy you.
“Leah…okay fuck. Shit. Fucking hell.” You threw your head back, eyes closing at your nervousness at seeing your girl dressed up.
You could feel the blonde’s eyebrows raise in amusement at your words, not needing to look at her to feel her smiling, yet you did, bringing your gaze back down, not wanting it to leave her for even a second.
“What happened to being late for dinner?”
“Babe…” you whined. “You absolutely cannot be asking me that after you come down looking like that!” Finally finding your ability to talk, you continued. “Literally not at all fair. Not one bit. Did you even think about me? Or the other girls? How, tell me how are we supposed to stay focused on dinner when you look so gorgeous?”
Biting the inside of your cheek, you eagerly stepped forward to close the gap between you two. Opening and closing your mouth a few times again, you searched for better words to express how you were feeling.
“My god…”
“Yes I’m real, and yeah, I don’t know how you managed to pull me either to be honest.”
Head shaking in amusement, you reached out to the blue-eyed angel. “You’re so cocky y’know, out here thinking you can read my mind.”
“Am I wrong?” The cheeky reply not taking more than a second to slip past Leah’s lips.
“You know you aren’t. It makes it so much worse.” Grinning you let your eyes trace over her outfit for the umpteenth time.
You weren’t sure how Leah managed to make everything she wore look so amazing, but she did, especially the suits that she wore, like she was now. There was just something about the way that the cropped blouse and tan suit had you in awe, her wavy hair and makeup complimenting it ever so perfectly, the world’s most elegant model, here in your arms.
Taking a deep breath in, your eyes widened once the realisation that she was yours hit you again. “Seriously though…no words. I’d tell you you look beautiful but I don’t think that even begins to cover it.”
Your words had Leah blushing even harder, ocean eyes shyly meeting yours.
“I’m so serious babe. I know I say it every time but you genuinely blow me away with how lovely you look. Out here leaving me at a loss for words really.”
Stepping back just a tad bit, you raised your intertwined hands above your head, wrist turning enough to wordlessly tell Leah to spin around slowly.
“God I’m gonna marry you one day…” The words slipped out of your mouth, heart speaking faster than your mind could comprehend.
Leah stopped in her tracks at your words, slowly finishing her turn before looking at you intently. “You mean that?”
This time it was your turn to blush, cursing yourself for being so lovesick.
Seeing the truly concerned look in the midfielder’s eyes though, you decided to double down.
Shrugging, pulling Leah closer by her waist, you eased her mind.
“Yeah. You've had me wrapped around your little finger since the day we met. Still have me in a daze most days. In fact, you said it yourself, I genuinely can’t believe I managed to get you and so I’d be honoured to love you for as long as I can, forever hopefully.”
The look that she gave you at your words had your heart bursting in joy. Eyes shining with love, a gentle smile on her face, Leah looked at you like you were her whole world (because you were- she didn’t know what she’d do if she lost you).
“Promise?”
“Pinky promise. And you know we can’t break those.”
Interlocking your pinkies, you brought your joined hands up to your lips, placing a tender kiss on the back of her hand before dropping it down.
Becoming aware that you had already spent long enough in your apartment and not enough on the streets though, (not that you would ever mind spending time with Leah) you decided to suggest finally heading out, only having ten minutes to make the twenty minute trip now.
Tugging Leah closer to you, you placed a kiss on her lips before stepping back and giving her another once over and then a playful wink.
“As much as I'd love to stay here with you, Katie and Beth would absolutely kill us if we skipped out on tonight. So, before we get any more late, shall we head out pretty girl?”
Nodding and letting you lead the way, Leah followed you out the door, smiling to herself at your actions. She knew you were extremely punctual, not one to ever be late if it was in your control. Yet, in moments like these, you’d always make the time to appreciate her, to love her, and she couldn’t adore you more for it if she tried.
It wasn't a secret how much the pair of you loved each other, endless teasing from all your friends (and sometimes family) adequate proof of that. Yet in stolen seconds like these, where it felt like you two were the only ones in the world, in the cozy bubble of your love, nothing ever felt greater, nothing ever felt more important. Not to you and most definitely not to Leah.
The English captain knew that she'd spend forever with you if she could, the idea of loving you, of marrying you having always been a question of 'when' rather than 'if'.
So if on the drive there, she silently planned your guys’ wedding in her head, you didn’t have to know. And if she spent a good chunk of that planning thinking about what wedding outfit would best leave you speechless, more than she had ever made you thus far, you most definitely didn’t have to know. After all, while her beauty left you tongue-tied, your love for her, all of her, left her at a loss for words, nothing but warmth coursing in her veins, a permanent blush on her cheeks.
And when you both arrived indisputably late, nearly half an hour past the designated time, and the teasing from your teammates was directed at you, you couldn’t help but shrug, declaring your love for her and ignoring the impending comments of 'whipped' headed your way.
“Leah looking at me dressed like that? There’s my weakness. She can take as much time as she needs to get ready. Hell, I made us late in fact. Really though, anything she says tonight, I agree with,” you joked, adoration and mirth filling your eyes.
It really was safe to say that it wasn't a secret how much you two loved each other, especially when all it took was her walking into the room for you to fall in love all over again.
Festival Buzz
Summary:
Tumblr media
Warnings: I don’t believe there’s any???
Author’s Note: Hope you enjoy <33333 Thank you for your request !!
———
“I’m so sure this makeup is going to look terrible by the end of the day,” You laugh to Madison as the two of you finish getting ready in the mirror.
“Girl, don’t worry,” She squeezes your arm, “We’ll be in it together.”
You were wearing a bikini top and long flared trousers covered in tassels - the kind of outfit you’d decided on after a quick coachella outfits pinterest search. It was your first time going to Coachella after Madison had been set on you coming with her. You’d spent the morning getting ready in her hotel room and then you’d be going to the festival with Mariyah and Drew, meeting the rest of the cast there. You and Drew had been dating for the past four months but had kept it private since. You were always seen out in a group with the rest or not seen at all, so without the public displays of affection it was easy to just make things look like you were just friends. It was easier this way - no worry for the public eye watching you. You could just be together and be private and be happy with that.
“Are you ready to go baby?” Drew pokes his head around the frame of the bathroom door, “Shit, you look beautiful.”
You blush underneath your makeup, “Thanks handsome.”
He comes over to you and wraps his arms around you from behind, perching his head on your shoulders so that he can look at the two of you in the mirror. He’s wearing a t-shirt and a baggy pair of Carhartt trousers with a bandana tied around his neck.
“Ready to go out and pretend to not be a couple?” You joke, placing your hands over his around your waist.
“Oh I can’t wait,” He smirks, pressing a kiss to the side of your neck, “I’m getting really good at it.”
You hum and squeeze his hands, “Alright, let’s go Starkey.”
~~~
To say the festival was overwhelming would be an understatement. Everywhere you looked there was something new going on, someone new to see. You’ve met up with the rest of the cast now and it felt like a relief to be in a bubble of people that you knew so well. Drew was stood on the other side of the circle to you - with so many people around it felt like a better idea to avoid being seen constantly so close together. It might seem silly but you’d learnt to remember the little things that people could pick up on about your relationship.
“Okay I’m just saying there’s no way I’m missing Rosalia,” You shrug your shoulders, sipping down more of the drink in your hand.
“Are you kidding? That’s like the only reason you’re here isn’t it?” Austin laughs, running a hand over the sweat on his brow.
You frown a little over the top of your cup, “Obviously.”
It was burning hot here and you were sure it was making the alcohol go to your head much quicker, you could feel the buzz already and the day had barely even started.
“As long as we see Frank Ocean I’m happy,” Drew comments, looking over at you from the other side of the group, “I’ve said this a thousand times.”
You roll your eyes, “Of course we’re seeing Frank Ocean.”
Before you say anything more, you’re tapped on the shoulder and turn around to see a couple of girls coming over to you. You’re pretty sure they’re influencers of some kind but couldn’t exactly place them. Then again, wasn’t everyone here an influencer?
“Hi, (Y/N), we’re so sorry to interrupt but we just loved your new film, would it be okay for us to get a photo?” One of them smiles.
“Of course we can!” You grin, “Thanks for coming over!”
They speak to you a little about your new film and how they were so excited that the sequel had been announced.
“We literally started watching Outer Banks because you joined the cast,” One of them smiles, snapping a photo of the two of you.
“Well, I’m glad I could help,” You giggle, “You’re so sweet girls, thank you.”
“Oh, and also, you and Drew would be so cute together!” The other one squeals, before they both say their goodbyes and head off back into the mingling crowd.
You turn around back to your friends and rejoin the conversation.
“What did they say to you? I saw them looking at me,” Drew narrows his eyes in mock suspicion.
“Apparently we’d be cute together.”
“Really?” He raises his eyebrows, his face giving him the expression of pondering for a moment, “I don’t see it.”
“Me neither.”
~~~
It’s a good few hours later and… well, drinks just seem to go down easier at festivals don’t they? You hadn’t thought about it much but as the sun was starting to set and you were watching one of the later sets before curfew, you were starting to feel the buzz even more. Drew was too, and you could tell as he came over to you.
“Have I told you how beautiful you look today?” He mumbles, dipping his head to rest on your shoulder.
“I think you might’ve mentioned it but a refresh couldn’t hurt,” You smirk, leaning your head into his.
Drew smiles lazily and turns his face towards you, kissing your neck longingly, “You’re beautiful.”
You hum, slightly ticklish against the touch, “Thank you handsome.”
With that, he puts a hand in your back pocket and turns you around to face him, his one hand catching your waist as his other still holds his cup of drink.
“Hi,” He grins, his eyes slightly glazed, just slightly.
“Hi,” You smile up at him as you put one hand on his shoulder, your opposite hand holding out your drink like his.
“I love this song,” He mumbles, not tearing his eyes away from you.
His hand guides your waist to sway with him, both of you moving in the same direction to the beat of the music. Drew mumbles along to the lyrics, his eyes brightening as he watches you dance with him. You don’t pay attention to everybody around you, or the hundreds of cameras all held up to the stage that could catch you. In this moment, the festival existed only for the two of you. His hand on your waist and yours up on his shoulder, your drinks threatening to spill over the lips of the cups. His head moves impossibly closer to you, singing along to the song as you do too.
With the start of the chorus, his hand finds yours on his shoulder and he holds it out to spin you, the tassels of your trousers twirling around as he pulls you back into him, hand back to your waist like a magnet.
And you’re sure the crowd has disappeared. It was him. It was you. It was dust kicking up and screaming choruses, it was kisses just inches away from happening and hands finding perfect place on bodies made for each other. It was everything.
The next song is slower and Drew turns you around to stand in front of him, his arms sliding underneath both of yours to wrap around you, drink still in one hand that he taps against yours in a cheers before taking another swig.
Drew sings the lyrics quietly as if meant for just your ears, swaying you back and forth as you lean your head back into his chest, breathing in the homely scent of him. You catch a glance of Austin and Madelyn stood next to you and they both clutch hands to their hearts jokingly as if you’re the perfect rom com couple.
“You two make me sick,” Austin nudges Drew’s arm and your boyfriend turns around to hit him back.
“Then be sick over Madelyn, not us,” Drew jokes, shooting a grin at his on-screen sister.
You lean back into him further, if even possible, and he tightens his hold around you, his chin perched on top of your head. You make mental note of the song - sure, in those minutes, that the conversation would come up in years to come and you’d suggest this exact song for your wedding. He’d hold you that night like he was doing now - like there was nobody else around.
~~~
You’re leaving the festival after curfew hits, thankful to be able to get away from the crowds as you follow the rest of the cast through VIP to get towards your waiting cars back to the hotel.
By now it’s late and there’s a chill running through the air. You’re walking with the group as Drew gets caught up talking to an old friend.
“He’ll catch up,” Austin rolls his eyes as the rest of you make your way out of the festival.
“I’m coming I’m coming I’m coming,” You hear from behind you, getting closer and closer as Drew’s feet pound on the dust, eventually catching up to you.
He wraps his arms around your waist and lifts you up, forcing you to squeal as your legs flail in front of you.
“Drew!” You exclaim, gripping onto him as he throws you over his shoulder, your face almost colliding with his back, “You’re going to drop me!”
“I’m not gonna drop ‘ya,” He laughs, gripping you tighter, “Just saving myself from you moaning about your feet hurting.”
You hit him jokingly and relax a little in his hold, waving as Madelyn gets out her phone to film the two of you. It’s then that you realise how many other cameras must be dotted around the crowds, paparazzi that would likely be posting about you and Drew in less than twelve hours. But you didn’t care. His arms were around you and you could feel yourself growing tired from the day, and it no longer mattered if people knew or not - this wasn’t changing.

The World and More
Requested by Anonymous
Pairing: Randy Orton x fem! reader
Genre: Fluff
Characters: Randy, Y/N
A/N: Part 2 to My Reason for Everything.
Description: Randy and Y/N are celebrating his championship win when something unexpected happens.
Tumblr media
You were filled with an overwhelming sense of anticipation, eagerly awaiting Randy's return after his championship win. The thought of wrapping your body around his, feeling his comforting aroma, and celebrating his victory filled you with joy. You had spent most of the day in the kitchen, preparing his favourite meals and setting up the perfect atmosphere for the celebration. As you wiped the sweat from your brow, a smile of anticipation played on your lips. The joyous reunion was just half an hour away, and you couldn't wait for him to be home.
You ran up the stairs, your heart pounding with anticipation, and quickly showered, washing your hair with his favourite scented shampoo before getting ready for his arrival. You pick out his favourite dress and spray yourself with his favourite perfume, feeling a surge of excitement, before blow-drying your hair. A jingle of keys in the lock downstairs made you jump up excitedly before running down the stairs and greeting your boyfriend.
"Baby, I've missed you." You leapt into his arms, wrapping your body around his, inhaling his intoxicating scent. He chuckled down your ear, a sound that resonated in his chest. "I've missed you too, baby girl." He placed his bags down and shut the door with a kick of his foot before carrying you into the sitting room. Randy leaned over and kissed your lips deeply, his hands finding their way to your sides. You kissed back, your love for him evident in every touch, your hands finding their way to his cheeks with your fingers running over the stubble on his face.
You whined when Randy pulled away, pulling out your lip. "Aw, baby. Don't do that; I just wanted to see your pretty face." He looked deep into your eyes before glancing down ever so slightly and taking note of the dress you were wearing. "You sure do look amazing in this dress, so so beautiful." He pulled you in for a second kiss, kissing your lips and cheeks. "Only the best for my champion." Randy's face brightened at his new name, and he kissed your hand before walking over to his bag and taking out his belt, placing it over his shoulder.
"What do you think?" You smiled before walking over and taking his hand. "Like the most handsome champion that has ever lived, baby." You guided him towards the kitchen, where you had set up the table. The kitchen was only filled with the light of the candles on the table, where his favourite foods were set out. "This is amazing! Is this all for me?" You nodded your head, and you both sat at the table. Randy placed the belt on the chair beside him. You both tucked into the meal, stealing glances from one another like two giddy teenagers. However, you couldn't help but notice that Randy was beginning to breathe a little funny, which concerned you. Placing your hand on top of his, you caught his eye with a worried expression. "Randy, what's wrong? You're breathing all funny." He shook his head and chuckled. "Nothing's wrong, I'm just a little nervous." "You never get nervous." He nodded his head and smiled. "I know, but you see, I have to ask a very important question, and I was trying to build it up in my head to make it as memorable as possible. But asking this question right now seems to be the best time."
You tilted your head in confusion at his cryptic description. However, your eyes widened in realisation when Randy bent down on one knee and pulled a box from his pant pocket. "Y/N, you mean the world to me and more. Sticking with me through the travelling and the ups and downs of my job, not everyone would do that. You know my job is important to me, but I want you to know that you mean more. I love everything about you, Y/N, and I want to make you my wife." You took the ring from the box and slid it on your finger. "Is that a yes?" "Yes, a million times yes!" You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss. He lifted you from the chair and gathered you in his arms, twirling you around and setting you on your feet. "You have just made me the happiest man alive. A champion with a beautiful fiancee by his side, what more could a man want?"

Harrington!reader, Steve’s little sister. Popular, a cheerleader, first time senior and Chrissy’s best friend. But she has a secret that only her best friend knows. She’s had a crush on Eddie Munson since middle school. She’s afraid to tell him, thinking there’s no way he’d be into her. Until one day in the cafeteria, Jason Carver calls Eddie a freak. She confronts him, and punches him in the face, breaking or spraining her hand/wrist. Guess her little secret is out, and she may never be popular again.
OF COURSE MY DEAR ANON! I am so sorry it took forever to address this request! I have just started my final year of Uni, and with four seminars and graduate applications, I have not had any time to write consistently! But this idea was too enticing to pass up, so thank you very much for sharing it! For those waiting on other fics, I am slowly but surely getting back into the groove of writing more consistently so it should all come out sooner rather than later (hopefully) and I always welcome more fics or one shot ideas! Thank you to y'all for bearing with me, I APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU SO SO MUCH ❤️❤️❤️
No warnings excpet for some violence (against Jason Carver so thats fine I think) and some heavy make out session

Hit Me Baby One More Time
Tumblr media
You had gotten your first taste of popularity on your very first day of middle school, a couple of years ago. That entire week leading up to it had been filled with fear and stress about what people would think of you. Overwhelmed, you had spent the last few days of your summer agonizing over your outfit choice, turning your daily fashion show into a reluctant performance for your big brother, Steve. Despite his huffs and puffs, he had reassured you that everything would go smoothly, but you couldn't help to worry. Eventually, you ended up settling on a cute white dress that reached just above your knees, paired with a soft baby pink cardigan. You had hoped it would be enough to get some of the right kind of attention that Steve always talked about.
In hindsight, you realized that you might have been a tad dramatic as when lunchtime had rolled around, a group of girls had approached you, giggling with excitement. "Are you Steve Harrington's sister?" they had asked-whispered with bright envious eyes. You slowly nodded, and with elated giggles, they ushered you over to their table, where the popular crowd was hanging out. It turned out your brother had quite the reputation, and while you knew he was popular, you hadn't fully grasped the extent to which the name Harrington would impact your social life. For you, Steve was just the idiot older brother who used Farah Fawcet's hairspray to keep his dumb hair in place – But to everyone else, it seemed that Steve was a pretty big deal. So, you were, it seemed, a legacy, and the rest, as they say, was history. And that very day, you also ended up meeting your future best friend, Chrissy Cunningham, who you would grow to love with all your heart.
Five years had come and gone, and now, you were finally well-established into your senior year, ready to graduate in the spring. And while it was true that your older brother might have facilitated your initial entry into the realm of popularity, you had since etched out a distinctive name for yourself. As your brother moved on to new chapters in his life (namely an underpaid job at family video), your own journey through high school took a markedly different path. In fact, your popularity had continued to ascend, like a rising star in the night sky.
Though the Harrington name may have laid the foundation, you had meticulously built upon it, brick by brick. You had cultivated your own unique persona, and it had become a force to be reckoned with in the hallways of your school. No longer living in the shadow of your brother's glory days, you had emerged as a charismatic figure in your own right.
You had become The Harrington sibling who truly counted, especially after the dramatic showdown between Steve and Billy Hargrove during his own senior year. In the aftermath of that clash, your brother's social standing had taken a considerable hit, with much of his social credit being seized by the mullet-wearing bad-boy. The Harrington name, which had once been associated with Steve's swagger, now conjured images of a radiant, saccharine smile, cheerleading outfits, and a personality as pinky-sweet as bubblegum.
While Chrissy indisputably reigned as the queen of Hawkins High, some believed it was only because you had no desire to claim that throne—a belief rooted in truth as you had no interest of being the queen of anything, especially Hawkins High as beyond Chrissy, you harboured little affection for the other members of the popular clique. Whether it was Jason Carver and his cronies or the remainder of the cheer squad, you couldn't help but find them increasingly vapid.
Nestled at the popular table right in the heart of the bustling cafeteria, always donning Hawkins’ green cheer outfit, a nagging sensation of inauthenticity always clung to you. Hitching deep into your soul, making you feel like the fraud you’ve always believed yourself to be as although your elevated social status had smoothed your journey through high school, ensuring a constant stream of party invitations, a steadfast companion, and even a few favors from teachers who were drawn to your preppy smile and sunny disposition, it all felt like a facade, far removed from your true self.
You’ve always known how deep inside, there were facets of who you really were that you couldn't openly share with anyone but Chrissy. She alone knew of your profound love for fantasy and science fiction novels. Nothing brought you more joy than retreating home to dive headlong into the mystical realms crafted by H.P. Lovecraft or to lose yourself once more in the pages of your well-worn copy of "Frankenstein." Yet, these passions remained concealed beneath the veneer you projected: the princess of Hawkins High, painted in shades of pink, sweet, and deceptively perfect.
The idea of letting those hidden, nerdy passions of yours see the light of day felt like a risky bet, one that could potentially leave you feeling incredibly alone at Hawkins High. The thought of losing friends and having nowhere to sit during lunch was a constant source of worry. You had faith in Chrissy's unwavering support, regardless of your social standing, but you couldn't bear the idea of burdening her. She was just so kind, always forgiving even to those who didn't deserve it, and you didn't want to be the one responsible for pulling her down.
As a result, the decision to keep these aspects of your identity hidden weighed heavily on your heart. It felt like an unspoken loneliness, a sacrifice you were making to preserve the fragile balance of the life you'd carefully constructed in high school. Hawkins High had its own intricate ecosystem, and you were very much a part of it. Your place within that system was delicate, and you couldn't afford to disrupt it, fearing that it might set off a chain reaction that could destabilize everything. You had no intention of being the one to upset the frail high school biome of Hawkins High.
Now, however, your situation was far from ideal as you found yourself sandwiched between Carly and Tina during lunch, and today, they were even more exasperating than usual. There seemed to be some sort of fallout from Tina's last party, something involving a boy, and now the two girls communicated exclusively through snarky remarks, making the tension rise with every snip from either girl. A brewing headache was beginning to claw at your temples as you were waiting for the explosion to erupt sooner rather than later.
What was happening in front of you wasn’t any better as you were given a front-row seat to the somewhat uncomfortable sight of Jason Carver deeply engrossed in a passionate kiss with Chrissy. She appeared to be on the brink of embarrassment, her attempts to gently push Jason away carried out with shy reluctance. "Jason, please," she implored, her manicured hand finding its way to his chest, a plea in her eyes. "Not in front of everyone..."
In response, Jason merely rolled his eyes dismissively. "Come on, baby," he insisted, his voice low and unconcerned. "No one's even paying attention to us."
You couldn't help but scowl, unhappiness etching your delicate features as you watched the uncomfortable display unfold before you. Finally, you couldn't take it any longer. You cleared your throat and loudly exclaimed, "Hey, Chrissy?" All eyes turned to you, and you continued, "Do you think we could slip away from lunch a bit early to go over the routine we've been practicing for the upcoming game? I really want to make sure I've got it down perfectly before tonight's match."
Chrissy's sigh of relief was almost audible, and you could sense her gratitude. In contrast, Jason huffed unhappily, clearly irritated by the interruption. He muttered something about leaving you girls to your conversation before he got up and headed to chat with one of his buddies at the far end of the table.
You and Chrissy shared a quick, wordless girl-to-girl conversation. All the words you needed were conveyed through a bombastic side-eye from you and a subtle nod of your head toward Jason. Chrissy responded with a playful roll of her eyes and a slight shake of her shoulder, silently agreeing with your sentiment.
As your eyes shifted away from Chrissy, they unexpectedly locked onto the deep brown ones of Eddie Munson. Two distinct emotions surged from deep within you. One was a rush of excitement as the warmth of your crush enveloped you, causing your face to flush as red as a ripe apple under his gaze. But in an instant, that crush felt almost crushing when you realized that it wasn't you that Eddie was looking at, but rather Chrissy's high ponytail that had captured his attention.
Eddie and Chrissy. Chrissy and Eddie. ChrissyandEddie. It was an undeniable fact that the guy you had the most enormous crush on happened to be utterly smitten with your best friend. It felt almost tragically comical, if you were being honest with yourself. Throughout high school, countless guys had mustered the courage to ask you out, but you had dismissed them all without a second thought. Football jocks, band nerds, potheads, music fanatics – none of them could hold a candle to Eddie Munson in your eyes.From the very moment you first crossed paths with Eddie during your freshman year, your heart had been irreversibly, completely, and utterly captivated by the charismatic and outspoken boy. You were utterly unprepared for it, not like you were out there seeking Cupid's arrow to pierce your heart. You had simply been an unsuspecting victim of one of its whims, but the exquisite pain that followed was worth it. At least, you hoped so.
Thanks to Eddie's recurring attempts at redoing his senior year and your placement in advanced classes, your worlds intersected more than once. One particularly unforgettable encounter unfolded in Mrs. Allen's math class, where the teacher had a peculiar notion that pairing the class's worst student (Eddie) with its best (you) would somehow work magic. You were left a bit shy and entirely tongue-tied in his presence, but Eddie had an uncanny talent for leaning in close and delivering a barrage of side-splitting, utterly inappropriate observations about Mrs. Allen that left you snorting with laughter. For a glorious three months, Eddie was your math partner in crime, and during that time, you dared to believe that something more could evolve from your interactions. If only you could string together coherent sentences without tripping over your words.
However, as fate would have it, the teacher eventually grew tired of her seating arrangement, deciding it was high time to shake things up. This twist in your high school narrative resulted in you and Eddie being separated, an alteration you weren't particularly thrilled about. The new arrangement effectively put a damper on your burgeoning connection.
It was in the midst of this seating shuffle that Eddie tossed a rather loaded question your way, catching you off guard. "Your friend Chrissy," he began, as you felt yourself shrink under his gaze. "Is she still with that Carver douche?" Your gaze faltered as you met his, a nod escaping your lips as a wave of disappointment surged within you. Inwardly grappling with the sting of unspoken heartache, you found yourself clutching the hem of your cheer skirt almost desperately. Without another word, you retreated to your newly assigned seat, a sense of melancholy lingering like a shadow and bitter disappointment coating your tongue.
Even now, your gaze would involuntarily flicker to Eddie whenever you found yourself in the same room. Often, he'd be engrossed in conversations with his bandmates or his D&D group, leaving you on the outside looking in. It was a conflicting sensation, feeling his presence so near yet so far away. If only you could gather the nerve to strike up a conversation with him, but you hesitated. After all, you were the popular girl, the one who played by the rules, and good girls weren't supposed to mix with people like Eddie, no matter how much you desperately longed for it. Perhaps during math class today, you thought, you might find a plausible excuse to approach him. Maybe something as simple as asking about the homework or...
"And what the hell do you think you're staring at, Freak!?" The sudden hush that swept over the cafeteria was palpable as every head turned toward Jason, who had abandoned your table and was now striding purposefully toward the one where Eddie and his friends were seated. A chill coursed through your veins, causing your face to pale. You couldn't tear your eyes away from the unfolding drama as Eddie rose from his seat. While he appeared outwardly confident, the telltale clenching and unclenching of his hand betrayed the nervousness bubbling beneath the surface. It was clear to you that what he was displaying might just be a facade of bravado.
"Did you dribble that orange ball a few too many times, Carver?" Eddie sarcastically chimed in. His words hung in the air, an open challenge that seemed to stoke the flames of Jason's anger. In a fit of rage, Jason lunged forward, grabbing Eddie by the front of his well-worn jeans jacket. The cafeteria held its breath, anticipation hanging heavy in.
 A gasp escaped your lips, a sharp, involuntary intake of breath as the dramatic confrontation unfolded before your eyes. Abruptly, you shot up from your seat, causing Chrissy to turn around in surprise. She sent you an uncertain look as you started to stride toward the two boys. It was as if you were possessed by a force stronger than yourself, you couldn’t let whatever was happening continue – you had to do something!
"Don't try to bullshit me, freak!" Jason's voice reverberated through the cafeteria, anger and scorn dripping from his words. "I saw you looking at Chrissy. You think you can just lay your eyes on her, you freak? She isn't yours; you're nothing but trailer trash! Don't you ever dare to look at her again, alright? Or I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget!" Jason was so close to Eddie's face that his spittle sprayed across the other boy's features. He shoved Eddie backward, and it was at that moment, as you were making your way between the mass of students that had clustered around Jason and Eddie that you felt a surge of red-hot anger like nothing you had ever felt before.
"Do I make myself clear, freak?" Jason continued, his voice dripping with malice. "Or do I need to send my boys to deal with you and your pathetic group of losers?" Eddie looked incensed, but he cowered under Jason's menacing threat.
"I...wasn't...looking," Eddie enunciated each word through gritted teeth, avoiding Jason's eyes. Jason burst into fake laughter, glancing around at the onlookers.
"Does the freak have a crush?" he taunted, his voice cruel and derisive. "That's hilarious. You honestly think you'd have a chance with Chrissy? Be realistic, freak. What is it now, twice repeating your senior year?" Eddie's face turned a deep shade of pink, shame washing over him as Jason's taunts struck at his insecurities. His shoulders sagged with each insult, and he struggled to maintain his composure.
"Everyone knows anyway that the only way a freak like you could ever get close to a girl is when you and your little cult of Satan practice some sacrifices," Jason continued, his words laced with venom. "I'm even surprised they let people like you in here. Everyone knows what kind of trash your dad was, it ain't surprising that the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree…”
You pushed your way through the crowd, determination propelling you forward. Without a second thought, you strode purposefully toward the back of Jason. Eddie's surprised gaze locked onto you as you confidently approached them.
You extended your arm and lightly tapped Jason on the shoulder, effectively cutting off his rant mid-sentence. The abruptness of your action prompted Jason to whirl around to face you, his typically handsome features now contorted into a repulsive mask of anger. It was a stark contrast to the carefully cultivated "cool-guy" image he often projected. But deep down, you knew this enraged countenance was his true face, hidden behind the facade. In fight or flight mode, you recalled your brother Steve's advice about fighting, which you had stored away in your memory, "Sis," Steve's voice echoed in your mind, "when you throw a punch, put your entire body behind it."
And that's precisely what you did. With every ounce of your body weight, you thrust your fist forward directly into Jason's face. The cafeteria was filled with a sharp crack, echoing through the room, followed by a collective gasp from everyone present. An eerie silence descended upon the cafeteria.
Jason lay sprawled on the floor, a violent stream of blood gushing from his nose, while you clutched your hand close to your chest. Tears welled up at the corners of your eyes. No one had ever warned you that hitting someone would hurt like an absolute nightmare! It ] wasn’t like that in the movies!
Your gaze landed on Eddie, and you noticed a peculiar expression take over the young metalhead’s face –  His brown gaze held something unfamiliar, a look you had never seen throughout the time you had been admiring him from afar. I was as though he were seeing you – like he was attempting to decipher the mechanics of your very being. It caught you off guard, this intensity in his stare, and you couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking.
“YOU BITCH! WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM!!!” Jason roared from his sprawled position on the ground.
Reluctantly tearing your gaze away from Eddie, you redirected it toward the fallen boy who cut a rather pathetic figure at your feet. Curling your lip in disdain, you adopted your most haughty tone and huffed, "You, Jason Carver, are the problem here!"
Jason, still sprawled on the floor with a nosebleed, glared up at you, his anger palpable, "You little—"
Before he could finish his sentence, you cut him off with a stern gesture. "Save it, Jason. You had this coming."
A stunned silence blanketed the cafeteria, every eye fixed on the unfolding confrontation. It was as if time had frozen, and the entire room held its breath in rapt attention as Hawkins' princess unleashed her verbal assault on the school's reigning king.
In that moment, you felt like you had the entire cafeteria in a chokehold, and you were determined not to let this opportunity slip away, not after what Jason had put Eddie through. Gathering your resolve, you continued, your voice dripping with disdain, "Do you honestly believe you can bully and belittle people just because they don't conform to your narrow definition of 'normal'? Well, I've had enough of your toxic attitude! You, my dear Jason, are the most insufferable idiot I've ever had the displeasure of encountering in my entire life! And I am done catering to whatever you and your dumb friends say!”
Jason struggled to get up, wiping the blood from his nose with the back of his hand. Turning back to Jason, you crossed your arms and delivered your final message with authority. "Consider this a warning, Jason. Mess with Eddie or anyone else again, and you'll have me to answer to."
"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!" Principal Higgins' thunderous voice pierced through the otherwise eerily silent cafeteria. In an instant, your confidence evaporated, leaving you feeling pale and exposed. You were caught off guard, unable to process what to do or say.
Before you could even react, a familiar, warm hand firmly grabbed yours, yanking you along as they sprinted in the opposite direction, forcefully pushing people out of the way. It was a grip you knew well, and you didn't hesitate to follow Eddie as he practically dragged you toward the exit of the cafeteria.
The scene you left behind was nothing short of chaotic. The entire school stood in a collective stupor, mouths agape in disbelief. Jason Carver, his face an alarming shade of red, appeared on the brink of an aneurysm as he struggled to regain his composure. Principal Higgins, in his authoritative fury, barked orders at the bewildered students, demanding answers and an immediate end to the commotion.
As you reached the exit and the clamor of the cafeteria began to fade, you couldn't help but let out a giggle of exhilaration. Eddie continued to lead you, now behind the school building and into the dense woods that bordered the campus. The farther you ventured into the secluded forest, the more you appreciated the sudden escape from the madness. Eventually, Eddie brought you to a worn-out picnic table, the wood weathered by years of exposure to the elements. Eddie finally managed to catch his breath. He exhaled heavily and asked, "What the hell... hfff... was that?!"
You leaned against the picnic table, still catching your own breath, and grinned at Eddie. "That, Eddie, was me finally giving Jason Carver a taste of his own medicine. That douchebag had it coming!"
Eddie let out a loud surprised laugh while still trying to catch his breath, his eyes still wide from the unexpected turn of events. "Well, I've gotta say, sweetheart, that was quite the show back there. You really let him have it, you got a mean hook princess." A warm flush of pride swept over you as you soaked in Eddie's praises. How long had you waited to hear him say something like that—to acknowledge you and gaze at you as if you were the most wonderful girl in the world? It was a feeling you had been yearning for so long, and if you were to die right now, you would die happy!
Eddie's warm, chocolate-coloured gaze landed on you, and it felt as though it softly swept over every inch of your being. He spoke, his voice filled with curiosity, "I don't think anyone was expecting Hawkins' princess to come to the defence of the 'freak.' You know they won't let you forget this, right? Why would you risk all that for little old me, Harrington?"
You let out a sigh, the weight of his inquisitive gaze pressing on you. As you closed your eyes briefly, you grappled with the emotions that had been swirling within you since the first time you had laid eyes on Eddie. A small smile crept onto your lips as you slowly opened your eyes, fixing them on the boy of your dreams. "You're worth it, Munson."
Eddie drew in a sharp breath, taking three steps closer to you. His large, warm hands, bearing tiny scars from playing the guitar, gently swept across your cheeks as he gazed intently into your eyes. "Do you mean that, Harrington? Because there's no going back if I kiss you right now—it's you and me, the princess and the 'freak.' You won’t climb back from that fall.”
You glanced at your right hand, the knuckles scraped and the skin raw, with a slight swelling on your wrist. "I think it's a little too late for that anyway," you sheepishly admitted. Eddie smiled warmly, his eyes filled with admiration, before gently taking your hand in his two larger ones. He slowly brought your bruised knuckles to his mouth, planting a soft kiss on each of them, causing your breath to hitch.
"Who knew that the princess of Hawkins High was Indiana’s future boxing champion," Eddie softly joked, his voice laced with affection. "I just feel bad for this pretty, soft hand – all bruised and battered to protect me, like the prettiest knight in pink armor coming to my rescue." You couldn't help but swoon at his words as Eddie continued to softly kiss your hand, his gaze slowly lifting to meet yours, his eyes filled with… Love? Tenderness? A girl could dream.
A warm smile curved across Eddie's lips, and he leaned in, capturing your mouth with his in a searing kiss. As you both savored each other, Eddie's hand slowly wrapped around the base of your neck, holding you close to him. As you were trying not to faint from the sheer pleasure this moment was bringing you, a flash of remembrance rushed through you, snapping you back from your trance and causing you to break the kiss and catch your breath. You whispered softly against Eddie's lips, "What about Chrissy?"
Eddie nuzzled your face with his nose, his lips brushing lightly against your skin. "What about her?" he retorted playfully. "I mean... I thought... I thought you had a thing for her," you admitted meekly.
Eddie smirked against your cheek. "If I did, I wouldn't be kissing you right now, right?" His voice held a teasing edge as he continued to shower your neck with tender kisses.
You closed your eyes, feeling a mix of contradicting emotions – wanting to keep going to feel more of him, wishing him to stop playing with your heart because you weren’t sure you could take it anymore. "I mean it, Eddie... I don't want to be your second choice."
Eddie stopped his ministrations and returned to your face, holding your gaze with his. "You were always my first choice, Eddie," you confessed, tears gathering at the corner of your eyes. "And I don't think I could handle being your backup plan."
Eddie's whispers were tender as he wiped away the tears that had begun to roll down your cheeks. "Nononono, sweetheart. Don't cry, please," he implored softly. "You were always my first choice." His words held a reassuring sincerity that began to soothe your racing heart. But you wouldn’t be so easily swayed, as much as you loathed Jason Carver, you had witnessed first hand how Eddie seemed enraptured with Chrissy.
You huffed in disbelief, but Eddie insisted, urging you to meet his gaze. "No, it's true. Hey, look at me," he gently encouraged. "I never thought I would ever have a chance with a girl like you. You know, you're like my dream girl, right?" You gave him an uncertain look, still wrestling with your doubts. "You always stare at Chrissy, though. And you did ask me if she was still with Jason, remember?"
Eddie released your cheeks and took a step back, embarrassment tinging his cheeks as he used a piece of his shaggy hair to shield himself from you. "I wasn't looking at Chrissy. You're always with Chrissy, so I was looking at you," he admitted, his voice tinged with shyness. "And I only asked you that because I panicked. I was going to ask you out, but the guys had been teasing me for weeks, telling me I was too much of a coward to do it. I guess they were right because I chickened out."
As Eddie continued, his embarrassment grew, and he took another step back. He held the piece of hair in front of his face, as if to hide himself from you. "I've actually had a crush on you since last year," he confessed, his words shocking you.
"Are you joking?!" you blurted out, astonished.
He shook his head, his warm brown eyes holding your gaze. "Not at all, princess," he began with a soft smile. "It was last year. You were on your way back from cheer practice, and you were in a hurry, holding a huge backpack. It happened so fast that you didn't even realize a book had fallen out."
His eyes sparkled as he continued, his tone becoming more animated. "I saw it lying there, and curiosity got the best of me – I picked it up, and to my surprise, it was a copy of 'The Hobbit.’” He grinned as if sharing a secret. "I was planning to return it to you, honestly, but then, when I opened it, I saw that there was a bunch of notes in the margins." Eddie started grinning even more as he continued “All there in the margins, notes, thoughts, musings. It was like reading your mind with every turn of the page. Your insights, your emotions, your laughter, and even your frustrations were all there in the margins. I knew I had stumbled upon the most precious treasure in the universe – it was a private window into you."
Your breath hitched at his words, and as Eddie spoke, you felt a warmth spreading through you, "It felt like we were close," Eddie continued, his gaze never leaving yours. "I couldn't put the book down. It was like having a conversation with you, even when you weren't around. I realized how much we had in common, how you saw the world, and it fascinated me.”
The thought that Eddie had held onto that copy of 'The Hobbit,' with your notes and thoughts, all this time was both surprising and heartwarming. Damn, he was perfect.
"Fuck, I sound so creepy," Eddie confessed, breaking your reverie. He scratched the back of his head, looking sheepish.
But you weren’t creeped out, far from it. For the first time in your life, you felt completely understood by someone – inside and out. "No, Eddie," you whispered softly, your heart swelling with love. "You don't sound creepy at all. You sound... perfect." A sweet cocky grin got etched on Eddie’s lips “Perfect, eh?”
Getting overwhelmed by his stare, you tried to play it cool and diverted his question by teasingly asking, "So you’ve had a big fat crush on me for a while, right?"
Eddie chuckled, taking a step closer to you, his gaze locked on yours. "Don't get too high and mighty, princess," he said with a warm smile, his voice laced with adoration. "From the looks of it, you've got a pretty big crush on little old me too…"
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, and you let out a soft giggle, feeling a delightful warmth in the pit of your stomach. "I can neither confirm nor deny that," you replied in a sing-song voice, your eyes never leaving his.
Eddie's smile deepened, his gaze filled with affection. With a tender touch, he placed his hands on your waist, and before you knew it, he had spun you around. You couldn't help but let out a joyful squeak as you twirled together in a sweet, romantic dance. As he gently lowered you back to the ground, his strong arms remained securely wrapped around your back, pulling you close.
In that intimate moment, it felt as though the world had faded away, leaving just the two of you entwined in each other's embrace. Your breaths synchronized, and you lost yourselves in each other's eyes, the unspoken promise of a beautiful future passing between you.
"Hey, Eddie," you whispered, your voice barely above a breath but filled with affection and longing.
Eddie's gaze softened even more, his eyes filled with tenderness as he held you close. "Yeah, princess?"
With a radiant smile, you leaned in closer to him, your heart singing with love. "I've got a big fat crush on you too."
A soft, contented sigh escaped Eddie's lips, and he held you even tighter as if he never wanted to let you go. "Good." And without another word, he pressed his lips to yours in a bruising kiss. Nothing ever tasted sweeter.
“You gonna be alright sitting with the freaks now?” “As long as I sit with you Eddie, I could not care less.”
The fallen princess and the freak," you thought contentedly, "that has the ringing of a love story for the ages.” And all it took was that punch you threw at Jason Carver's face for you and Eddie to find your way to each other.

»Sails!«
Yves was with the weavers when the call sounded through the village, picked up by voice after voice, and he had never seen them drop their work so quickly. And he understood, more completely than he would have believed — his heart, too, leapt at the message, and following their example, he didn’t feel bad abandoning his work just as swiftly.
It took a long while for the ship that had been spotted to actually reach the shore — long enough for a whole crowd to gather at the pier. Yves stood with Runar’s family, next to Ingunn holding little Bragi on her arm.
Runar would be so excited to meet his nephew. The thought warmed Yves’ heart, even as it hammered against his chest a little too fast. He had been thinking of Runar a lot. Had been thinking about what he wanted to say to him once he returned. About how to tell him how his life, his feelings, his whole heart had changed. How everything was different now.
He wondered whether Runar’s summer had changed him, too.
As the ship drew nearer, its shape seemed more and more familiar, calling back to when he, himself, had sailed. It seemed somehow wrong now that he hadn’t gone with them.
Cheers erupted when the ship came into earshot, from both sides, greetings and welcomes, and Yves, too, called out, his voice just one of the choir.
And yet, amidst the joy, something darker reared its head — a reminder of how he had been when he arrived, the way Runar and the others arrived now, all those months ago, of all that fear and all that pain. Perhaps it had never been away, only dormant.
He had to push it down, that memory of how he had cowered in that same ship as the warriors landed, frozen with cold and terror.
He forced a smile, determined to make it true before the day was out.
* Runar always looked forward to coming home, but this time was… different. And it wasn’t even that he was hoping to meet his sister-child for the first time.
He should pull himself together. Things had been complicated when he left, and if he didn’t fuck it up, this could be a fresh start. But it was hard when they approached the pier, and Yves was right there in the front row, wearing a blue tunic with a striped pattern that seemed just the right level of complexity to be personally made by someone who was, though still with much left to learn, progressing in his weaving skill, and — Runar’s heart skipped a beat — his dark hair, now past chin-length, braided as one who was waiting for someone who had left to sea.
He seemed happy to be standing there, up front, too — at ease and confident enough, and when he set eyes on Runar, a smile broke across his face.
Runar’s heart did a weird little hop, as if it were about to leap out of his mouth.
He swallowed. He had to be sensible.
And there was Ingunn, too, standing right by Yves, a tiny little baby on her arm.
That did not make him feel more normal, but it did help distract him from Yves a little. He’d have to take it easy for him; the baby, on the other hand, wouldn’t care, not yet.
He was among the first to leap off the ship, and his heart was still in his throat, and he couldn’t even decide who he wanted to greet first, swaying like a leaf in the wind for a moment, overwhelmed with joy and love, before Yves, still smiling, waved him towards Ingunn.
»Welcome home! Meet Bragi!« Ingunn sounded as excited as he felt. »Bragi, that is your uncle.«
The little glob of human gripped his finger with a tiny hand as he reached out to him. Runar didn’t think he could get any more emotional, but that nearly brought him to tears.
Eventually, though, he pulled himself free, and that was when — before he could even fully turn — Yves slammed into him, pulling him right into a hug.
And Runar’s heart just melted.
As much as he had tried to be sensible over the past months, he couldn’t deny that as he wrapped Yves into his arms. He had hoped Yves was doing well, of course, but then how could he have expected his poor heart to be normal about actually seeing him before himself with all that newfound confidence and — dare he say — happiness?
The brilliant smile Yves gave him, looking up at him, sure seemed to allow the word. »Welcome back.«
»Thanks. Hi. Are you — you look good.«
Yves nodded, pulling out of his arms. For a moment, Runar was tempted to catch his hand, but he would never hold Yves against his will.
»You look alright,« Yves replied, the smile making way for a more serious expression.
»I’m fine. I’m great, actually. It’s good to be home.« Yves. There he was, right in front of him. »How has your summer been?«
The smile returned. »Good. It was — yes, it was good.« A moment’s hesitation, and then he added, so quiet that Runar almost might have believed his ears were playing tricks, »I missed you.«
Gods. How was he supposed to act normal?
It didn’t help that next on the schedule was the long-awaited bath.
He remembered how it had been last year — how Yves was so insecure on his feet Runar felt compelled to support him, how terrified he had been. They had barely been able to communicate. And now, Yves confidently walked along with him, carrying fresh clothes for them both — just like he had done then. He could barely listen to Ingunn on his other side, chatting away about the news in the village.
As usual, she abandoned them when they reached the hot springs, if a little more careful than usual, with the baby.
Runar undressed, prepared to go ahead and give Yves some privacy. He had taken him to take baths multiple times, of course, last winter, but he had quickly realized it was a sensitive matter for him, and had avoided watching him while he was naked and bare.
But Yves didn’t even hesitate to undress. He seemed so confident that Runar allowed himself a covert look.
He was still slender — he always would be — but nowhere near as agonizingly thin as he had been a year ago, recovered muscle padded in just enough fat now not to be concerning. All his wounds were healed, the scars fading into the skin. There were a few bruises, but nothing, Runar remembered after a moment of alarm, that wasn’t explained by training. He was proud, even, that Yves could apparently handle these minor hurts without being pulled back to darker times. He’d still check in with Yves about that later, just in case.
* Yves had gotten used to taking his baths alone, but he found it didn’t frighten him to undress in company, now.
Not in this company, anyway.
He found his eyes tracing Runar’s form as he went ahead into the hot springs; soft, round shapes moving with such strength, thin white scars here and there-
His heartrate picked up again before his eyes caught on Runar’s left forearm, tidily wrapped in bandages Runar started to undo when he was mostly submerged in the warm water.
»You’re injured.« Yves splashed into the water himself, now hurrying to catch up to him.
Runar turned, smiling. »It’s nothing, just a scratch.«
»Let me help you.« His breath caught in his throat at how easily the words fell from his tongue; his hands barely hesitated when he reached out to undo the bandages Runar was struggling with, with only one hand reaching.
It was so different from how it had been, a year ago. His heart was in his throat, but in a way that was so very different.
When he was done, revealing a long, thin, scabbed-over cut, he looked up to see Runar’s eyes resting on him, softer still than he remembered.
He didn’t know why he blushed.
They bathed together, helped one another clean their backs. Yves’ skin drew into goosebumps, and he almost could have blamed the cold air.
Freshly cleaned and clothed, they went down to the feast.
Yves paused in the doorway to the longhouse, and Runar noticed immediately.
»Are you okay?«
Yves could only nod, unsure how to put into words how overwhelmed he was, not with fear, but with its absence. Maybe there was a little undercurrent of nerves somewhere, but compared with last year, when the filled room with its delicious scents sent him into a panic? He found himself blinking away tears.
Runar gently laid a hand on his shoulder. »Are you sure?«
»Yes.« Yves smiled up at his concerned face. Even Runar’s worry no longer seemed suffocating — just endearing.
They took their seats in the hall, and feasted, and exchanged stories. Yves, with an easy heart, helped serve the table.
That was when Brandr approached him.
Yves straightened. He would not let Brandr take away his happiness — happiness? him? what a breathtaking thought — again.
He was ready.
»I owe you an apology,« Brandr said bluntly.
Yves was so taken aback he couldn’t respond, and to his immense surprise, Brandr reacted by stepping back a little.
»Yes. You do.« His voice came out a little louder than he planned. There it was, that anxiety again. He was talking back.
He pushed it away. He wasn’t even doing that.
Brandr threw up his hands. »So. ‘m sorry. Seems you recovered alright.«
Yves nodded, then after a moment’s hesitation, he said, »Thank you.«
He knew why Brandr was doing this. The community needed to stick together, and he, Yves… he was one of them. It wouldn’t be right for him to hold a grudge.
»Everything alright?« Runar met him halfway back to the table after he and Brandr parted.
»He apologized.«
»Oh.« Runar seemed almost as surprised as Yves had been, but then he nodded. »Right so.«
They sat and feasted long into the night.
And then, when everything was done, Yves and Runar walked home together.

Tumblr media
“Do you think we’ll be together forever?”
The question is posed like it’s no big deal—like he could answer anything, and it wouldn’t matter, but Haechan knows you. He knows this is important. He knows just like when you tell him all you’re craving is cereal that your stomach hurts, or when you play Howl’s Moving Castle for the third time in a week that something is wrong. This is important and could greatly change how the night goes. While you’re laying in bed now with tiny smiles, one wrong answer could send you into another Studio Ghibli binge—the last one lasted two weeks where all you watched was Ponyo and Princess Mononoke and wouldn’t let him change it.
 “Well, why wouldn’t we be?” He wants to play this right, doesn’t want to be too serious that you get overwhelmed, but he needs you to know he’s being honest. He’s loved you since he saw you. Some people think that’s a lie or an exaggeration, yet it’s true. Ever since he walked into that café and saw you reading in the corner, so excited about the plot of the story, he’s been whipped. He couldn’t believe it when you smiled at him too, or when you agreed to get coffee together next time. His feelings for you are so big that he can’t see them ever going away, and maybe that’s how everyone in love feels. Maybe people say this every day and then suddenly they don’t even know the person anymore, but Haechan feels like you’re the exception; he loves you too much for you not to be. So, when he says, “I mean I fall in love with you more and more everyday…” He means it, he wakes up every morning finding new reasons to fall in love with you, new experiences that initiate the whole sequence over again, so that he’s right where he started.
“Hyuck! I’m being serious!” Your smile is huge, spread across your whole face mirroring his. He likes you best this way, fully and wholly you. All your makeup has been washed away and your hair’s falling around you on the pillow. You’re in his clothes, a big T-shirt and his sweatpants acting as makeshift pajamas, and your body is pressed right against his. The bed is just too small not to be, so every inch of your skin is touching his—chest to chest, with your legs in between his. And God, you’re smile, he would embarrass himself all day just to see it—and trust, he really tries—he loves your smile just as much as you love his, which is a lot. “Do you really think we’ll be together forever, like we’ll get married and have babies and everything?”
“Course I do, I already got it all planned out, we just have to wait until everything calms down.” You know he means it; it’s written all over his face: all the plans he has for the two of you. He’s always been so sweet, never letting you think anything less of yourself than he does, never letting you be confused about his feelings or his intentions—he told you he loved you as soon as he knew you felt the same and has never let you question it. But it’s hard not to be insecure, not to be at odds with the truth. He’ s so perfect, and so dear to so many people, and it’s difficult to see his love for you over everyone’s love for him, but he always knows exactly how to help. “I mean we’ll have lots of babies, and they all look like you, so pretty.” He has a dumb smile on his face, so fond and happy to be here with you.
The little room is lit up from the candles next to you and its so hot underneath the blanket, but you can’t seem to move. The moment is too lovely, too giddy with his plans for the future. The two of you with a little family. He says all your children will look like you, but you wish they’ll be him—everything from his sparkly eyes to his heart-shaped lips; Perfect from their heads to their toes, and maybe they’ll be as silly and wonderful too, so you tell him. “They should be all you, love, so sweet and so funny, like little suns running around giving everyone a hard time.” His laugh breaks out at this, so smooth, so musical. Secretly you wish they’ll have this too: his easy humor. For you, it’s hard not to be serious, to let things be as they are and find joy in the little things. But Haechan is a wizard at this, letting go of control in hopes of more fun and better times. If you have children, you hope they gain this most of all.
“I don’t know if anyone else would like that, honey, I think they’d be annoyed.” The scoff you release at this is comical, but you can’t believe anyone would dislike him. Sure, he can be mischievous and his playfulness can lead to hurt feelings, but he always kisses it better. He never gives out anything he doesn’t think you’ll be able to take. At his core, he’s a kind boy, just wanting people to laugh with him.
“At you?! Who could be annoyed at you? You’re my favorite person in the whole world.” He knows you mean it. Anyone with eyes could see you meant it. And how could you not when you get to be loved by the warmest boy, so sincere in everything he does.
“You’re my favorite person too, baby, so maybe they’ll be the perfect mix of both—everything you love about me, and everything I love about you.” And how nice does that sound, little things walking around with so much love in them. Never going a day without hearing laughter or joy or the most earnest I love yous. Never second guessing their place in the world or how powerful  they can be. It’ll be loud and chaotic, but lovely, and if they’re anything like him, they will be so loved. They’ll be him and they’ll be you, a perfect mix.

Even though you’ve been counting down the months to finally reach Sabaody, a part of you yearned for just a few more weeks with G-5. Now, with only three more days till you dock at the archipelago, the excitement is palpable. Time seemed to have a mind of its own, neither hastening nor slowing. They say time flies when you're having fun, and indeed it did. Four months dwindled to three, then two, and before you knew it, you were down to mere days.
You couldn’t wait to see everyone, to reveal the person you’ve become during the two-year separation. The anticipation to demonstrate your newfound devil fruit powers and everything Smoker and G-5 have instilled in you. To prove that you've earned the title of a Straw Hat.  That even in the face of pregnancy, you stand strong, capable of protecting yourself and your friends. You’ve toiled day and night to hone your abilities and devil fruit powers, all while nurturing the life growing within you.
Tashigi helped you in buying things that’d make your life a bit easier. Pregnancy pillows, maternity clothes, vitamins to keep yourself healthy, and everything in between. She even convinced you to write a journal for every day of your pregnancy. It did help a lot more than you thought it would. You wrote what you wouldn’t tell anyone else and how you truly felt about your situation that day. Some good and some bad.
A wave of emotions would often overwhelm you when something triggered memories of your time with Kidd. The echo of people calling your name, the rumble of thunder, all reminiscent of your time spent in the shadows. While you knew you’d never be the same person you were before Kidd, you have strived to heal from all the things that have transpired.
It wasn’t working very well, though.
Looking at any reflective surface has your heart shattering when your eyes land on the visible scars on your body. Trying to picture yourself without the scars was impossible as you struggled not to imagine Kidd in the image as well. It was almost easier to pretend you were born with your scars rather than think about the one that gave them to you. Even in everyday life, he'd pop into your head when you weren’t thinking about him. Closing your eyes, you still see his amber eyes staring right back at you.
Being alone with your thoughts always makes things difficult. If it were too quiet, you’d hear his voice whispering in your ear. Feeling his fingers touching your skin when you wore short-sleeved shirts was also common. Times when you were so close to slumber, you’d start to smell his presence. The only thing that seems to calm you down now is a tune your mother used to sing to you.
It had been sealed away in your memories for years, and now you managed to remember the words and tune after having a dream about her singing it to you. You watched her rock yourself as she sang the little song before tucking you in. Her face was a blur, but you could still hear her. At least you could still remember her voice. Yet when she stopped singing, you immediately woke up.
Since then, you’ve been subconsciously humming it when working around the ship. You remember getting embarrassed when Tashigi asked you what you were singing. When you told her that it was something your mother sang to you when you were a baby, she got stars in her eyes.
“You should sing to them! I heard it’s extremely beneficial to the baby!” You couldn’t help but laugh.
“Your more invested in this pregnancy than I am, and I'm the one carrying the baby.”
“I heard it’s great for bonding and-” She stopped herself before she could finish. You knew what she was trying to say and that there was no ill will behind it.
“It’s okay. I know you meant well. Maybe if the situation were different, I’d be more excited. But I don’t want to get too close to them since I’m putting them up for adoption.”
“I’m sorry. I forgot about that. I guess I just got excited for something other than listening to men yelling and fighting.”
“No, I promise it’s okay! Things happen. You meant well, and that’s all that matters to me.”
Leaning against the railing, you look out at the setting sun. The beautiful colors you memorize as you imagine sailing off with the Straw Hats. Happy laughter as you’d hear them tell their stories of their adventures from the two years you’ve been separated. You couldn’t wait to hear Luffy’s infectious laughter or see Robin's calming smile. Only three more days until you make it to Sabaody then-...
…What then?
You’d still be pregnant, on the run, and scared that any second Kidd’s going to show up and whisk you away. Even after you put up the baby for adoption, your body would still look pregnant for a while before going back to normal. Your body would wonder where the baby had gone and when it’d come back. How were you supposed to live life normally after this? Knowing that you have a baby out there that you’ll never get to see grow up. Always worry if they're safe and scared that Kidd might find them and use them as leverage to make you come back.
But at the same time, you couldn’t take them with you. The sea is no place to raise a child, let alone a baby. They could fall overboard, get kidnapped by Marines or rival pirate groups, hell, they could get ill at sea, and you wouldn’t have the medicine to make them better!
Anyway, you looked at it, it felt like nothing was the right choice. The negatives outweighed the positives in your head. It’s possible that everything you’ve experienced has made you an internal pessimist. That, or maybe you were just thinking logically. Either or, it still sucked.
“What are you thinking about?” Tashigi’s voice pulled you from your negative thoughts as she stood beside you.
“Everything and nothing at all. Three days, and then we’ll be enemies. Feels weird knowing that.”
“Yeah. It’s gonna be weird not having you around. I’m gonna be stuck as the only girl once again.” You laugh a bit at her admission.
“If only we’d be able to call one another. But it’s too much of a risk in case any higher-ups were to find out.” Both of you sigh before turning to each other.
“Why do you have to be a pirate?”
“Why do you have to be a Marine?” The two of you laugh as you see the stars start to appear in the night sky.
“The stars are pretty, huh? Maybe we can find constellations if we look hard enough.” You can see Tashigi thinking out of the corner of your eye before her head perks up.
“What if we take pictures? Like a group picture? We’d be able to remember each other even if we can’t talk.”
“You're right! We can do it tomorrow morning! I heard it’s supposed to be sunny and clear!”
“Perfect! We can go around telling the other Marines about it, and they’ll all agree. Vice Admiral Smoker, we might have to convince or drag.”
“I think it’ll be worth the extra chores.”
~~~
As you lay in your bed once more, you look out over the multiple sleeping marines. In a few days' time, you’ll never see them again. If you do, then you’d have to fight them. Once you get back to the Straw Hats, you’ll undoubtedly have a bounty from the government. Then you’ll genuinely be ‘enemies,’ but the thought of hurting any of them made you want to cry. How could you hurt those who took you in, no matter who you were? They risked getting in trouble and put themselves in danger just for you.
Maybe if your forced to fight them, you could just run away? Usopp does it a lot, so why couldn’t you?
You move slightly to get more comfy, only to hear a ‘thud’ come from the side of your bed. Gently moving to the best of your pregnant abilities, you manage to see a particular journal that you haven’t read since the first week you met the G-5.
Heat’s journal.
Biting your lip, you mentally fight to figure out whether you should read it or not. After taking months to try and process Heat’s internal thoughts and the truth about your home, perhaps you were ready to read the rest of it.
Scooting closer to the edge of the bed, you manage to grab the book by the tips of your fingers. You bring it up just enough for your other hand to hold it. A slight pain rummages through your body as you try to bring it up. Thankfully, you manage to pull it up just enough to grab it with your other hand. Snuggling into the bed more, you use the moon as a light source to read the book.
Something happened. I don’t know what it was exactly, but whatever it was, put (Y/N) in the hospital on the island we’re currently docked at. No one but Killer and Kidd himself were allowed to see her. Doctors must have been in and out of that room when (Y/N) first entered.
I can’t see (Y/N) trying to kill herself. Not with the small determination I can still see in her eyes. It had to be something involving Kidd. If Kidd can put a hot metal branding on her, then I don’t think he’d be above doing something to land her in the hospital.
I’ve talked to Wire about his thoughts on what could have happened. He told me that while he saw nothing, he heard multiple thuds and yelling coming from beneath the deck. Immediately upon hearing that, a sour taste filled my mouth. I have to go down and see for myself the room Kidd has been keeping (Y/N) in. There has to be something down there that could tell me something.
Of course, Kidd didn’t want his crew to know he almost killed you. Typical. What did Heat say when he saw you come back from the hospital? When what was the starting time when you forgot your memories. Gently skimming through the pages, you found the entry you were looking for.
I don’t think my eyes have ever widened as much as they did when I saw Kidd and (Y/N) holding hands. There was a bright smile on (Y/N)’s face when she finally came aboard the deck. Her legs are wobbly, and it looks like she’s learning how to walk again. She had bandages covering her head. Behind her and Kid was a doctor along with Killer.
Obviously, somethings not right. (Y/N) or Kidd must have hit her head so hard that a real doctor is needed. While I know it’s a very cliche scenario, I think that she must have hit her head so hard that her memory fogged. And if that’s so, what lies had Kidd told her already? Maybe if I'm able to get the doctor alone, I can get some information.
So Heat saw you the day you returned to the Victoria Punk after the incident? You were shocked that Kidd didn’t bring you back to the ship during the night. But thankfully, he was too stupid, and it allowed Heat to see the first part of the aftermath in real-time.
You don’t remember the first week or two when you got back to the Victoria. Not the doctors or leaving the hospital. It was probably for the best, though. You don’t need any more trauma than you already have.
“What were his thoughts during those five months?” Looking back at the marines to ensure they were sleeping, you flip through the pages again.
Caught (Y/N) staring out to sea earlier before the night entirely took over. It’s been a while since I’ve talked to her, honestly. I felt like I was going insane trying to figure out how or if I should help her now. She looks so happy now, but at the same time, her happiness is based on lies and blood.
Why did this have to happen? What sins did (Y/N) do in a past life that made this her reality? One minute, she was living her life, then the next, she’s stuck in a storage room on a pirate ship. I try not to think how alone she must have felt before this incident. Always being stuck in the dark and only seeing the same people over and over again. Me talking to her can only do so much. It won’t bring back her parents or friends. Nor will it bring back her home.
It still eats me knowing that I’m the reason this woman has no one left. No friends or family. Well, there’s those Straw Hats she’s told me about.
I remember them from Sabaody. Their captain was a strange one, but it did seem like he cared for his crew. If he’s willing to risk his life by storming Impel Down and Navy headquarters just to save his brother, then I think if there is any place or pirate crew for her to be in, it’d be the Straw Hats.
Maybe if I mention Saboady, it’ll spark something and clear the fog that’s invaded her mind.
"If only you knew Heat. It was the thing that made me realize somethings not right.” For a Kidd Pirate, he truly was a fallen angel in disguise. While you’ll never forgive him for what he did to your home, he proved that almost everyone deserves a second chance.
Holy shit. I can hear my heart beating in my ears. I haven’t run as quickly and quietly as I could in forever. Not to mention the underlying threat of getting caught giving (Y/N) a devil fruit.
Finding the damn thing was entirely on accident but a pain in the ass to bring on the ship without anyone noticing. Even stealing the fruit was a feat in itself. I don’t know how that fisherman found it or what he was planning on doing with it, but in the end, it’s going to a better cause.
I managed to have (Y/N) eat it by luring her outside the dining hall earlier. When I watched her eat it all, it made a slight ease wash over me. At least now, she’d have a bit more of a fighting chance against Kidd if he did anything.
I feel bad that I couldn’t tell her everything right then and there, but I was already pushing it by being so close to everyone, especially with Killer being somewhere on deck. I didn’t want to cause a scene and have Kidd freak out or anything. The longer he’s in the dark, the safer it is for (Y/N) and myself.
Honestly, I thought Killer would have knocked some sense into Kidd when he found out about (Y/N). I was obviously very wrong.
“If anything, he was just as insane as Kidd. Fueling his crazed thoughts and obsession. I still remember that dumb conversation I heard between him and Kidd about boarding up the storage room.” It pissed you off more that if it weren’t for Killer’s mask, you probably would have put two and two together quicker. Facial expressions are everything.
I caught (Y/N) staring at the sky again. Thankfully, Killer and Wire were on the opposite side of the ship, so I was finally able to talk to (Y/N) alone. She didn’t know what I made her eat initially, which shocked me. Maybe she hadn’t done anything to trigger it yet.
We both found out pretty quickly what her devil fruit power was, though.
I was trying to tell her that everything she knew about Kidd was a lie. That her life was a lie. I wanted to be more collected and calm about it, but how do you carefully say something like that?  It was hard seeing her eyes flash all her emotions, but it soon turned to pain when a harsh shock hit my hands. It felt like a burning hot pole went straight through my hands.
It hurt like a bitch, but the pain subsided when I saw her looking at her hands. When I also looked at them, I saw electricity slither across her hands. I watched her put her hands together and was speechless when a ball of pure electricity formed. She started panicking when the ball was getting too big for her to control and starting to hurt her. I told her to throw it out to sea, and when she did, I felt like I was watching the moon shrink. It was so bright and slightly calming. The farther it went, the more at ease I felt. (Y/N) had a chance. She had a chance to defend herself and run away.
And I’ll be there to make sure she’s safe.
Tears fall profusely down your face, reading the last line. How can the world be so cruel? All he wanted to do was help, and yet he lost his life.
You go to read the next page only to see it’s blank. Feeling your throat dry, you start skimming through the rest of the pages, hoping to see more writing, yet there is nothing. It felt like your heart had been ripped directly from your chest. That was the last thing Heat has ever written, and it just had to be the most heartbreaking thing to read.
Curling up as best you can, considering your belly, you hold Heat’s journal close to your chest. You try your best not to sob as you don’t want to wake up the rest of the Marines sleeping next to you. Between sniffles and the slight shaking as you try to control your breathing, you whisper to yourself in hopes that wherever Heat is, he’ll hear you.
“Thank you.”
~~~
Another island was reduced to ashes after falling victim to Eustass Kidd’s wraith. A once lush and thriving island is now in flames and crumbling as the ruthless pirate searched tirelessly for a certain someone last seen there.
“God fucking damnit! When I get my hands on whatever Marines are holding her, I’m going to kill every single one of them! They’ll wish they never got involved when I break each of their bones!” Kidd’s voice boomed across the town as his amber eyes scanned everywhere.
Where are you?! Why aren’t you here?!
“Kid.” Killer’s voice breaks through the brute's rage, making him turn his head.
“What Killer?!”
“We’ve searched everywhere, and there's no sign of her. It’s not like we can ask anyone either since everyone has evacuated before we arrived.”
Ever since the incident on Halyard Island, as soon as your location was revealed in the paper, people would evacuate their homes to try to save their families and avoid the unstable tornado of destruction that was Eustass Kidd.
Some people stayed because it’d been their home since birth, and they’d rather die than leave it defenseless. There have been rebellions to try to stop Kidd, but they were always snuffed out the moment Kidd saw them. The same could be said for any Marines that were sent to stop him. Getting sent on a mission to any island that you had been spotted at was a death wish. Sometimes, the Marines were too late, and Kidd had already destroyed the island. But when Kidd would see them, he wouldn’t let any Marines leave until he talked to each and every single one of them. And since none of them had you, none of them would leave the island alive.
Your name had become a jinx to any Marine that spoke it. Speaking your name would always have the Marine that spoke it sent out on the next mission to stop Kid from destroying yet another island just to find you. And since none of them had you, they’d never come back alive to say what they’ve experienced.
After being the ‘cause’ of death for so many Marines, some rookies have given you the nickname ‘Devil’s Darling.’ It was a joke at first, but as the death toll rose and how Kidd’s name got more infamous, more and more people adopted it. And with a nickname like that, more people have come to hate you.
While you haven’t done anything, the fact is that if it weren’t for you escaping, no one would have gotten hurt. If only you had bit the bullet, no one would have lost their lives. Many victims of Kidd’s rage blame you for it. Anger and fear take over the hearts of many, and to the civilians of the New World, you’ve become as feared and hated as the man hunting you down.
The government had become more conflicted on where to stand with you. While you were technically innocent, the people have been nagging them to put an official bounty on your head. If they did, you’d only be wanted alive. The power they could hold if they managed to capture you. You could be the key to finally catching and imprisoning Eustass Kidd.
And Kidd knew all of this.
He knew the hatred the people had started to hold for you. How they’d give you to him if they managed to recognize and grab you before you left the island. In a way, he had the whole New World in his hand. Their hatred and fear was and will be the town’s own undoing.
The only people stopping him were fucking journalists who don’t say or do a thing when they see you. They are so desperate for a story and to lead him on that they don’t care about how they’ve helped in the destruction.
“Of course, she isn’t here. Fucking hate those journalists and Marines.” Kidd kicked a smoldering piece of wood in anger. Ashes fly to the sky as it did nothing to soothe his rage.
They don’t understand that he needs you. He dreams of you every night. Dreams of you laying next to him and kissing his face. Some where you were holding his child, soothing them to sleep. Humming a small tune before noticing him and smiling. You’d say something to him, but he could never remember what it was when he woke up.
And while there were dreams, nightmares followed suit. Nightmares of you falling into the ocean and sinking to the bottom with your hand outstretched for Kidd to grab and save you. Or the times when you’d be running from Marines to him only for you to get shot as soon as he had you in your arms. The nightmares plagued him much more than he dreamt of you. He’s always had nightmares when you weren’t lying next to him. Ever since the first night you’ve slept with him in his bed, he’s never been able to sleep alone without waking up sometimes during the night. The warmth your body gave him while you slept, go thim addicted.
Those first few months you left and joined those damn Straw Hats, the same nightmare happened every night. It replayed the scene of you sailing away from him over and over again. No matter what, those months without you behind closed doors were pure hell for Kidd. You were just gone from his life after being by his side for a year and a half. He’d never get to kiss you or hold you close again.
But just as Killer tried to get Kidd over you, he saw you.
He was fighting a pacifista next to that dweeb Trafalgar Law when he turned his head, and there you were. You were running as fast as you could, and there he saw you. What you were running from, he didn’t know, but what he did know was that you were alone. No Straw Hats or Marines to take you away now. You were his for the taking once more, and this time, he’d make sure you knew it-
“Earth to Kidd!” Blinking a few times, Kidd’s pulled from his memories by Killer snapping his fingers in his face.
“I was thinking! What is it?”
“Haven’t you noticed a pattern? How each island she’s at, she gets closer and closer to the Navy Headquarters?” A pit filled Kidd’s stomach hearing Killer’s words.
“What are you saying, Killer? Spill it!”
“What if their taking her to the safety of Navy Headquarters? Or worse, Impel Down?” Kidd grits his teeth at the thought. No way in hell was he gonna let those fuckers take you.
“Any Marine ship we see, attack. Don’t care if they're not in our course. No Marine ship will get past the Victoria. Search every part of the Marine ship, and if she isn’t there, sink the ship to the bottom of the sea.”
“And the Marines on it?”
“Kill them all.”
~~~
“You wanted to see me, Vice Admiral? If it’s about the pictures we did yesterday, I have some here if you want to choose one.-”
“Sit. We need to talk.” Your heart stopped for a second, but you managed to snap back and sit on the chair in front of his desk. The way he sat in his chair behind the desk made you bite the inside of your cheek. When Tashigi told you that he wanted to see you, you were nervous. She said that while she didn’t know why he wanted to, you had no need to be scared.
Obviously, she was wrong.
“O-Oh? What about?” You can feel your palms sweat as the room seems to heat up.
“The government has finally put up a bounty for you.” Hearing those words come from Smoker's mouth made time stop as thousands of scenarios played through your head. Would he turn you in?
“But I haven’t done anything! Why do I have a bounty?!”
“You haven’t done anything. But Kidd has.”
“What does that have to do with me?”
“He’s been destroying islands, villages, and Marine ships nonstop. Anything in his path has become a victim of his rage. According to headquarters, we’ve lost a lot of good men to him. Rookies, Vice Admirals, and Admirals even have been killed. His bounty has tripled in the last six months. Wouldn’t shock me if it raises the next time the new bounty posters come up.” You were speechless. How many people have been hurt or killed because of you? So many deaths for simply living. This has to be a nightmare.
“I don’t understand. Why do I have a bounty for things he’s done? I’m not out here hurting people!” Smoker sighed before running a hand through his hair.
“They want to use you to lure Kidd so they can capture him. That and many people of the New World are treating you as much of a threat as kid himself is.”
“I’ve never hurt anyone! I hate Kidd as much as they do, so why do they hate me?...”
“Fear. Kidd’s insanity has caused fear to cover the entire New World. Seeing your name and last known location in the paper is a death wish for the island you were last seen at. I don’t know how these damn journalists keep spotting you no matter what disguise we put you in.”
“It’s like they’re actively looking for me. Why are they so determined to find me? People have been hurt, yet they don’t care!” Guilt starts to eat at you as the thought of countless people getting hurt because of your problems eats at your heart.
“First Heat…now this? Why is this happening to me? What have I done to deserve this?” You whisper to yourself as you lay your hands on your thighs before gripping your pants tightly. Tears start to whelm in your eyes as you bite your lip. The images of people's faces you’ve never seen before start to pop up in your mind as if to make you suffer more. The survivor's guilt already consumed you after Heat’s death, but now, with having so much more ‘blood’ on your hands, the pain was unbearable.
“Heat? Where have I heard that name before?”
“He was a crewmate on Kidd’s ship. He’s…no longer with us.”
“A Marine kill him? I don’t think I’ve heard of any Kidd Pirates getting sent to Impel Down.”
“No. Kidd did.” Even though you spoke between sobs, SMoker still managed to catch your words. He was stunned to hear such a thing. Killing his own crew? If he can do that without remorse, what else is he willing to do?
“He helped me escape the first time I was stuck with Kidd. He undid the chain that was connected to a collar Kidd had me wear and told me to run. When he saw that I had gotten captured again, he tried to help me again, but…”
“But?”
You ran as fast as you could around teh deck to try and find Heat and Kidd. In the dark, the whole boat felt like a maze. Each passing second was an eternity. How can you find them in time?
“Your fucking stupid to think I wouldn’t notice how you're trying to play hero! At first, I gave you the benefit of the doubt when you let her go the first time. But now, when everything’s good, you're trying to ruin it!” Kidd’s voice rang in your left ear, making you stop in your tracks.
“What are you talking about Kidd? Are you drunk or something?”
“Don’t play dumb! You know damn well what I’m talking about! Your telling (Y/N) shit she doesn’t need to remember! Telling her things that’ll ruin what I’ve worked so hard for! She’s happy, and you want her to be sad?!”
“That’s not happiness, Kidd! Her ‘happiness’ is based on lies! I know I’m not the greatest person. I have skeletons in my closet, but what you're doing is insane!” Hearing Heat bite back makes you dash towards the two voices.
Just then, a few loud thumps accompanied by a cough echoed across the deck. A bang was soon heard right after, and it only made you run faster. When you finally made it to the source, your horrified to see Kidd with his back facing you and a bloody, jagged knife in his hand. In front of him, you see Heat on the deck with his back leaning against the railing. Red starts to seep through his clothes, as you can hear his breathing become erratic. You watched him cough harshly and see droplets of blood shooting out from his mouth.
“I don’t remember asking for your input, Heat. I won’t let you ruin this for me. If only you had minded your business, then none of this would have to happen.” Heat gives Kidd a strong glare before laughing at him. His teeth covered in blood as he smiled at Kidd.
“She’ll find out. It may not be by me, but your house of cards is crumbling, Kidd. She’s gonna find out whether you like it or not.” You can hear Kidd crack his neck at Heat’s words.
“Not to mention, she and the rest of the crew are gonna wonder what’s happened to me. How are you gonna explain that?”
“I can just say you fell overboard. Since your a devil fruit user, you’ll sink to the bottom. The crew will believe it, and so will (Y/N).”
“Doubt it. She’s not stupid, Kidd. She’s gonna remember everything that’s happened. Her home, friends, family, and everything you’ve done to her, she’s gonna remember. And when she does, I’ll be laughing in hell.” You watch Kidd charge at Heat with the knife clutched tightly in his hand.
“No!” Running from your hiding spot, you jump in front of Heat. Despite the fear that coursed through you, you spread your arms out to a T so you can protect him from your knife-wielding lover. Your arrival brought silence among the three of you.
“(Y/N)...” Glancing back to Heat, you see the shock in his eyes. Your heart bleeds as Heats breath becomes more ragged with each second that passes.
“(Y/N)! What are you doing?! You need to get away from him! He’s working for the Marines! He’s a traitor!” Biting your lip between your teeth, you try not to cry as your lover lies directly in your face so casually.
A strong, familiar tingling feeling circulated through your arms and legs as you stood in front of Heat. Buzzing rings in your ears as the feeling grows stronger as you anticipate Kidd’s next move.
“Move (Y/N). I’m trying to protect you! He’s going to hurt you, it’s not safe next to him.” Looking into Kidd’s eyes, you stand yoru ground and still stand in his path. You can feel your heart race as he reaches out to you. The feeling of his fingertips from his real arm just barely touching your wrist before a loud ZAP could be heard echoing across the Victoria Punk.
“Son of a bitch!” Kid recoils his hand back and tries brushing it against his red feathered coat. The buzzing of the zap still ringing in your ears as you quickly turn your attention to Heat. You're quick to start inspecting him for more wounds but can only see one. A stab wound dangerously close to the heart but at a perfect position for it to be in the lungs. While Kidd missed the heart, he managed to puncture a lung which could be just as fatal. It also explains the coughing up of blood.
“Heat! Hang on! Everything will be okay! Just give me a second!-”
“Where did you get devil fruit powers?...” You stutter as you try to figure out a lie to say. Yet, you watch Heat give Kidd a bloody smirk. From that, it didn’t take long for Kidd to put two and two together.
“You gave her devil fruit powers?! I’m going to fucking kill you, you bastard!” Your heart almost stops completely as you see Kidd stomping towards the two of you. The way his face looked so sinister made it feel like you were living another nightmare.
Quick to jump to your feet again, you place yourself between Heat and Kidd. The buzzing continued, and you watched as electricity slithers around your arms and legs, helping you give off a threatening aura.
“Don’t you dare hurt him, Kidd!” Despite the electricity covering you, Kidd still reaches out. Just as you watch him reach for your arm, he changes direction and grabs your hair. With a harsh tug, Kidd throws you behind him. Your body hits against the hard wooden deck with a ‘thunk.’
You can feel the air being knocked out of your lungs as tears prickle your eyes. As you struggle to get over the pounding in your head and the ache in your body, you hear Heat cough harshly again. When you open your eyes to look at the two men, your eyes widen in horror as you watch Kidd hold Heat up by the throat. Lifting him to his feet, you see Heat struggle to get Kidd’s metal hand off his throat.
“Enjoy the bottom of the sea Heat! Say hi to the sea kings that’ll feast on your corpse, will ya?” Jumping to your feet despite still being dizzy, you dash towards Kidd and Heat. But just as you took three steps in, you watched as Kidd threw Heat against the railing, making him tumble over it and fall off the boat.
Running to the railing and praying that he’s simply hanging on, your hopes were crushed as soon as you heard the heartbreaking sound of water splashing. Leaning over the edge to see if you could throw him a rope, you only had time to see bubbles rising to the water's surface before Kidd grabbed you by the hair and began to drag you away.
“Kidd found out about it. My devil fruit powers wouldn’t be a thing if it weren’t for Heat. If it wasn’t for him, who knows how long I would have been stuck with Kidd and his web of lies.”
“How long has it been since his death?” While he could see that this was obviously a sensitive topic for you, perhaps if you spoke about it, it might loosen whatever burden his death has caused.
“A week had passed after his death when you guys found me. So, as long as I’ve been here plus a week.” Letting out a hum, Smoker continued to listen.
“It’s all my fault…If only I had been more careful then maybe he’d still be here. He’d still be alive instead of at the bottom of the sea.”
“I watched Kidd kill him. I saw Kidd kill the only friend I had and there was nothing I could do about it!”
‘That explains a lot. There’s a lot more layers of trauma she hasn’t told me or Tashigi about. If there's something that traumatic she’s keeping to herself, what else could be going on inside that she’s not talking about?’
“There are times when I feel like he’s haunting me. I see him sometimes in my nightmares. Or times when I’m leaning against the railing and go to look down at the sea only to see Heat standing beside me. But when I go to check if he’s really there, it’s always an empty space. I’ve caught glimpses of him staring at me through the crowd. People walk back and forth and I see him staring at me. But then somebody walks in front of him, and then he’s gone!” Smoker watches as your body shakes and tears begin pouring down your face. You grip your uniform pants even harder as you try to stabilize yourself as you begin to hyperventilate.
“Every time I see him, I don’t see the Heat I know. I see him as a corpse. No matter what he’s always just staring at me with lifeless eyes. It always looks like he’s…”
“At the bottom of the sea?”
“Yeah. Down there.” A minute os silence passes before SMoker speaks.
“You shouldn’t feel guilty for his death. From how much you’ve told me, it sounds like he knew the risks that came with trying to set you free. That he’d be putting his own life in danger to help yours. Do you think he’d want you to feel guilty for a sacrifice he was willing to make?”
“No.”
“Then don’t blame yourself for something that someone did of their own free will.”
“Yes, Vice Admiral.” While Smoker knew a single sentence wouldn’t fix all the trauma Heat’s death had obviously caused, he supposed it was better to get it off your chest. With Heat’s death, along with the people Kidd’s hurt in your name lingering in your mind, he can’t imagine the toll it’s taken on you.
~~~
Today’s the day. According to Tashigi, you guys should be at Sabaody before 3 pm. After months of training and pregnancy, along with your time with Kidd, you’ll finally be able to return to the Straw Hats.
It feels unreal. Almost as if it’s a dream. Yet, the dangers of Sabaody didn’t slip your mind. Bounty hunters, potential civilians willing to hunt you down, and the navy waiting to use you as bait. All odds were against you.
You did know the sunny was docked at tree 41, so maybe you could have G-5 bring you close but not too close to the sunny? The closer you are to it, the safer it’ll be for you. Well, you and the baby.
Not a second goes by where it’s not on your mind. Any time you move, you have to be cautious you don’t hit your tummy on anything. Eating foods became a test as foods you used to love, you now despise. Now, you're studying foods that are healthy for the baby and what’s not. Anything an over-paranoid pregnant woman does, you did. Even though you're gonna give up the baby for adoption when the time comes, you are gonna make sure the baby is healthy.
There was a nagging feeling that ate at you whenever you were alone. Sometimes, you could feel the baby kick whenever you tapped your belly purposefully or on accident. It was as if they were responding to you. If they could feel the vibrations from a simple tap, could they also hear you talk about not wanting them? Even if six months old, what if? You knew it was impossible for them to understand you, but the nagging feeling never went away.
Maybe when you reunite with the Straw Hats, that nagging feeling will fade away.

Another art thing. not really proud of it but it is what it is

Aaron & David II Part 5
[Part 1]   [Part 2]   [Part 3]   [Part 4]   ⬤
Tumblr media
As Aaron entered the ninth month of his pregnancy, the anticipation in the household was palpable. The baby’s arrival was just around the corner, and everyone could feel the excitement building. Despite carrying just one child—or so they thought—Aaron’s belly had grown to an impressive size. The weight of the pregnancy was undeniable, and even though Aaron had carried triplets before, he found himself marveling at how heavy and full he felt with just one baby this time.
Michael and Josh had been preparing for the baby’s arrival with the same level of excitement and nervousness as new parents. They spent hours in the nursery, carefully arranging clothes, organizing toys, and making sure everything was ready for their little one. Aaron often found them discussing parenting strategies and sharing their hopes for the future, their love for each other growing stronger with each passing day.
Aaron and Michael’s bond had deepened over the months. Despite the unusual dynamic of Aaron carrying Michael and Josh’s child, they had found a comfortable rhythm in their relationship. Michael often sought Aaron’s advice, especially as the birth grew closer. Aaron’s experience and calm demeanor provided Michael with the reassurance he needed, and their late-night conversations had become a cherished routine.
Tumblr media
One evening, as Aaron rested on the couch, he felt an odd sensation—his belly, which had been sitting high for weeks, seemed to shift downward, pressing heavily on his pelvis. It was a sensation he recognized well, one that signaled the baby was preparing for birth. Aaron placed a hand on his belly, feeling the baby’s movements more acutely than ever before.
“David,” Aaron called out, his voice laced with a mix of excitement and apprehension. “I think it’s happening.”
David rushed into the room, his eyes widening as he took in the sight of Aaron’s dropped belly. He placed a hand on Aaron’s belly, feeling the shift himself. “It’s time,” he said softly, his voice full of love and anticipation. “Let’s get you ready.”
Aaron nodded, his heart racing with the realization that the moment they had all been waiting for was finally here. He felt a wave of emotion wash over him as he thought about the journey they had been on—the love that had brought them to this point, the challenges they had overcome, and the new life that was about to enter the world.
As they gathered their things, Aaron felt a sudden, sharp contraction, followed by a rush of warmth between his legs. He gasped, clutching David’s arm for support as his water broke.
“We need to get to the hospital,” Aaron said, his voice breathless but steady. “The baby’s coming.”
David didn’t hesitate. He helped Aaron into the car, and they were on their way to the hospital within minutes. The drive was tense, filled with the excitement and nervousness that always accompanies a birth. Aaron could feel the contractions growing stronger, each one a reminder that their baby was on its way.
When they arrived at the hospital, Aaron was quickly taken to a private room. The midwife and nurses prepared the birthing pool, knowing that a water birth would be the most comfortable option for Aaron, given his previous experience with triplets. The warm water provided immediate relief as Aaron lowered himself into the pool, the tension in his body easing slightly as the contractions continued to build.
David stayed by Aaron’s side, offering words of encouragement and holding his hand as the contractions grew more intense. The pain was sharp, each contraction coming faster and stronger than the last. Aaron could feel the baby descending with each push, the pressure in his pelvis almost overwhelming.
Michael and Josh arrived at the hospital shortly after, their faces filled with a mix of excitement and concern. They stood by the side of the pool, watching as Aaron worked through the contractions, their hands clasped tightly together. Michael’s heart raced as he watched Aaron, his mind filled with a whirlwind of emotions—gratitude, awe, and a deep, overwhelming love for the man who was bringing his child into the world.
As the labor progressed, Aaron felt the baby move lower, the sensation of the head pressing against his pelvis becoming more pronounced. The pressure was immense, radiating through his entire body as he prepared to push. With David’s support and the guidance of the midwife, Aaron positioned himself on all fours in the water, his belly hanging low and heavy beneath him.
The water provided some relief, but the intensity of the contractions was undeniable. Aaron’s muscles strained with each push, his body instinctively working to bring the baby into the world. His glutes, now fuller and more prominent than ever, moved rhythmically with each effort, the soft flesh pressing against the water as he shifted his weight.
Feeling a deep contraction, Aaron instinctively arched his back, pushing his glutes out as he prepared to deliver the baby. His belly hung low, the muscles contracting powerfully as he began to bear down, feeling the baby move down inside him. The sensation was overwhelming—both familiar and new—as his body worked to guide the baby through the birth canal.
The baby’s head pressed lower, creating immense pressure in his pelvis. With each push, Aaron’s glutes flexed and pulsed, the powerful muscles aiding in the descent of his grandchild. The feeling of the baby moving through his body was intense, a combination of pain, pressure, and the profound realization of what was happening.
David remained by Aaron’s side, his hands offering comforting touches on Aaron’s back, helping him focus through the waves of contractions. Aaron’s hair clung to his forehead, damp with sweat, as he continued to push, the energy needed to deliver the baby evident in every fiber of his being.
As the baby’s head began to crown, Aaron felt a sharp, burning sensation as the delicate folds of his skin stretched to accommodate the baby’s passage. He reached back with both hands, parting his cheeks to ease the baby’s descent. The pressure was almost unbearable, but Aaron pushed through it, focusing on the moment when he would finally hold the baby in his arms.
Another strong contraction ripped through his body, and Aaron bore down with all his might, his glutes flexing and straining as the baby’s head began to emerge. The sensation was intense—his body opening to allow the baby to pass through. The pain was sharp, but there was also an undeniable feeling of progress, of bringing life into the world.
Aaron adjusted his footing, moving into a wide squat, his body trembling with the effort. The baby’s head slid further out, parting his cheeks as it reached full crown. A tear came to Aaron’s eyes as the pain peaked, the intensity of the moment overwhelming him. With another powerful push, the baby’s head popped out, followed by the shoulders turning within him.
He adjusted his footing again, feeling a cramp well up deep inside him. Aaron gave a big, hard push and a final squeeze of his glutes, feeling his grandson’s shoulders slip free, followed by the rest of the body. The baby slipped into the water with a gentle splash, Aaron’s cheeks jiggling one final time as the baby emerged, his muscles finally able to relax.
The midwife gently lifted the baby out of the water and placed it on Aaron’s chest. “It’s a boy,” she announced, her voice filled with warmth. Aaron looked down at the tiny, wriggling life in his arms, overcome with emotion. The baby had a shock of dark hair and the same deep blue eyes as both Michael and Josh. Aaron couldn’t help but notice the mix of features—the softness of Michael’s cheeks, the strength of Josh’s jawline, and the warmth of their shared love reflected in the baby’s face.
David leaned in, tears in his eyes as he kissed Aaron’s temple. “He’s perfect,” he whispered, his voice trembling with love.
But before they could fully take in the moment, Aaron noticed that he still had a considerable belly that felt just as full. He felt another contraction, sharp and unexpected. He gasped, his eyes widening as he realized what was happening.
“There’s another one,” Aaron breathed, his voice filled with surprise. “There’s another baby.”
The midwife quickly checked Aaron, her eyes widening as she confirmed the presence of a second baby. “You’re right,” she said, her tone urgent but calm. “There’s another baby. You need to push again.”
Aaron felt a surge of determination as he prepared to deliver the second baby. The contractions were coming fast now, the pressure intense as the second baby moved into position. Aaron’s body was exhausted, but he pushed through the fatigue, focusing on the task at hand.
The pressure was immense as the contractions grew stronger, the baby’s head descending rapidly. Aaron gritted his teeth, feeling the intense burn as the baby’s head began to crown. His glutes, already stretched to their limit, worked in perfect harmony with his body as he gave another powerful push, feeling the baby’s head slowly emerge. The pain was sharp, the pressure almost overwhelming, but Aaron pushed through it, his focus unwavering as the baby’s head slowly began to emerge.
David continued to encourage Aaron, his voice a steady presence in the background as he placed a hand on Aaron’s belly, rubbing gently to help ease the pain. Aaron reached back again, his hand trembling slightly, feeling the baby’s head as it pushed against the tender opening. He let out a low, primal groan and gave a hard push and squeeze of his glutes as he felt the baby’s head finally slip free, the rest of the body following quickly after.
As the second baby slipped into the water, the midwife quickly lifted it out, revealing another tiny, perfect life. “It’s a girl,” she announced, placing the baby in Aaron’s arms alongside her brother.
Aaron was in awe as he looked down at the two babies in his arms – the grandchildren he just birthed. The little girl had the same dark hair and blue eyes, but there was a softness to her features that reminded Aaron of Michael. As he held the two babies close, Aaron felt a deep connection to them—a bond that was as strong as the love he had for David.
David was speechless as he looked at the two babies, his heart overflowing with love and gratitude. “They’re beautiful,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
Aaron nodded, tears streaming down his face as he cradled the two babies against his chest. The birth had been intense, but the reward was more than worth it. As he looked at his new grandson and granddaughter, Aaron felt a deep, unshakable bond with them—a bond that would only grow stronger with time.
The midwife gently took the babies to clean and check them, giving Aaron a moment to rest. But before he could fully relax, he felt a final series of contractions, signaling the delivery of the placenta.
David was right there by Aaron’s side, rubbing his back and tenderly massaging his cheeks to help ease the discomfort. Aaron felt the contractions grow stronger, his body working to expel the placenta. With one final push, he felt the large, fleshy organ slip out, the sensation a mix of relief and exhaustion.
The midwife quickly removed the placenta from the water, and Aaron finally allowed himself to relax, the weight of the pregnancy lifting from his body. He let out a deep breath, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over him as he lay back in the water.
David gently helped clean Aaron up, his touch soft and loving as he rubbed his belly and cheeks, helping to ease the tension from his muscles. Aaron felt a deep sense of gratitude for David, his love and support a constant presence throughout the entire process.
As they finally left the hospital, Michael and Josh holding their newborn twins close, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at the miracle of life they had just witnessed. The love they felt for their children was overwhelming, and they knew that their lives would never be the same again.
The journey was just beginning for them, and as they settled into their new home in Chicago, they were filled with hope and excitement for the future. Michael and Josh’s relationship had grown stronger than ever, their love deepening with each passing day. They were ready to start their new life together, and with the support of their family, they knew that they could face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Santi had come running to your apartment at the vague but frantic phone call he’d received from you.
He could barely understand what you were saying over your squealing, but his heart was racing, and a million thoughts were going through his mind, and he instantly thought that something was wrong, that you were in trouble.
Someone had broken into your apartment.
Something was wrong with the babies.
You had fallen and seriously hurt yourself.
But you opened your apartment as soon as he came knocking (and you use the term loosely, he was almost hammering your door down) and pulled him in by his shirt, your eyes sparkling with tears.
“What’s the matter, what’s wrong?” he immediately asked as you close the door behind you both, looking over you for injuries, his hands hovering over you but never really touching you.
You lead him to your couch, Santi spouting question after question at you before you eventually tell him to shut up as you push him on your couch and stand in front of him, grabbing his hands and placing them on your bump (you were barely sixteen weeks along, his hands could still cover your entire bump). Santi goes quiet, staring at his hands with wide eyes, as if he’d just discovered them.
You’d never done this before. Honestly, he’d never really felt the urge to touch or caress your bump in any way, shape or form. He knew they were his kids in there, but it felt...too intimate, too personal to just...touch you. You hadn’t said anything to him either, never really given him the permission to touch you whenever he wanted, not like Frankie did with Sarah when she was pregnant.
But you didn’t seem to have a problem with it right now, as you watched his face carefully, just waiting.
That’s when he felt it. The small flutter under his palm, like the delicate brush of butterfly wings; it was barely there, and if he wasn’t so focused on his hands, he would have missed it.
But then it happened again.
And again, a bit more firmly.
“Is that...” he breathed.
“I noticed it this afternoon,” you whisper excitedly. “At first, I thought it was gas, honestly. I was super embarrassed that I was just gonna fart in front of everyone in the office.”
Santi gave a breathy chuckle, his hands still on your bump as he felt the twins nudge at him.
“I’ve been sat on my couch for two hours just...feeling them,” you say. “Just to make sure it wasn’t gas.”
“That explains why you called me in tears,” Santi said, giving you a pointed look. “Near enough gave me a heart attack.”
“Sorry, sorry,” you say, giving him a sheepish smile. “I was just excited, and I wanted you to experience it too!”
Santi was filled with a complex blend of emotions, from the uncertainty of the future with kids, but also the excitement that this journey was going to bring him. You both go silent again, as he concentrated on the sensations beneath his palms. Twins. His twins. His kids. It was a revelation that added another layer to an already complicated situation. From a blind date that ended up a one-night stand, which led to the creation of two tiny lives.
The twins seemed to have created a rhythm of their own, dancing and somersaulting in the protective cocoon of your womb. Every kick and nudge send a wave of amazement and connection through you, along with the urge to protect them from all the evils and bad things in the world.
Santi marvelled at the fact that two distinct beings were growing, developing, and just made their presence known. It was as if they were communicating with just him, reassuring him that despite the unconventional circumstances, they were real and alive. A warmth spread through his chest. The doubts that once clouded his thoughts began to dissipate, replaced by an overwhelming sense of responsibility and wonder. A newfound determination settled in his heart.
“This is the weirdest but also most amazing thing I’ve ever felt,” Santi muttered after a while, sounding too loud in the quiet apartment.
“Is it weird because you know they’re actually in there now?” you ask him, grinning.
“Yeah, I’m getting flashbacks of watching Alien with Frankie back when we were in basic training.”
You laugh, before going quiet as Santi leans in to your bump.
“Hey, it’s me, your dad,” he says quietly. “You’re going insane in there. You practising your soccer moves? I’d prefer you to be in Little League, but you can do whatever you want.”
Your eyes fill with happy tears, and you bite your lip to stop the light sob that was growing in your chest. It had been a whirlwind couple of weeks, with your family, and the whole Craig situation (especially with how Santi had reacted to it), and you were glad nothing seemed to have changed between the two of you. He still wanted to be involved.
After a few more moments, Santi looked up to you. “Thank you for calling me.”
“It’s okay,” you say, wiping at your eyes quickly, your cheeks warming in embarrassment at being caught.
Santi smirked at you as he leaned away from your bump. “Aw, did I make you cry, cariño?” he teases.
“You wish,” you say, giving him a light shove. “It’s my hormones.”
“Sure, sure,” he says, smirking as he stands from your couch.
You turn away from him, heading towards your kitchen. “Well since you’re here, do you want to stay for dinner?”
You’d have him stay forever if you had it your way.
