I don’t think omega regrets it, but sometimes late at night when he can’t control his own thoughts, the idea that he should’ve just … been with alpha and not asked for anything more comes up. That’s his mate, his partner, and the one who will be alive for as long as he is in every universe. And omega still chose Terzo.

Maybe it would’ve hurt less. To stay with alpha. Played the part of the two highest and oldest ghouls being each others mates for life, and he could’ve been happy and not had to face the backlash and the betrayal on alphas face when omega told him he was in love with Terzo. He wouldnt have had to see the way alphas face fell but slowly rose in a way he would never want omega to see when he found out Terzo was dead and omega could no longer be with him. He wouldn’t have to feel the guilt about the fact that alpha waited for him. And gave him time. And brought him dinner on all the late nights omega slept in terzos chapel to see if he would wake up to different circumstances

Alpha never says “I told you so” like omega knows he would to any other ghoul that tried to love a human only to realize why it’s usually frowned upon. And omega will slowly move on, accept his role as alphas mate. He loves him. They’re a bonded pair. He’s in love with him in every universe.

But in this universe sometimes alpha wakes up to omega softly crying in the bathroom, and knows that even if omega loves him, he will always love Terzo more.

And he rolls over, and goes back to sleep.

When Rick said that we were going to have a Sally x Poseidon flashback, my mind thought about a nice day on the beach when they were getting to know each other. But no, oh no, that would have been too nice for Rick “I destroy lives” Riordan.

Instead, we got this heartbreaking moment of Sally desperately calling on Poseidon, because she is lost, she thinks she is doing everything wrong and that the only option is taking Percy to a place she doesn’t want him to go. And Poseidon shows up like 0.5 seconds after that calling, because ruling the sea can wait if Sally is crying, and he lets her talk and take out her frustration on him; because deep down he knows that is his fault. It is in his world that Percy is in danger, it is because he is his son that he will not have an easy life. Then Poseidon looks at this small child after Sally ask him if he want to talk to him, but he knows he can’t, no matter how much he wants too; because if Percy is already attracting monsters the presence of a god will only make it worse.

In that scene, they are just two parents trying to decide the best outcome for their kid in an incredibly unfair situation.
