Woah...I know I say it a lot but... I'm super happy... A year ago I returned to working on this AU, in October actually!! So it really was a year ago :0! And since then, this account has grown SO MUCH! When I returned I was at 600 followers and now we're here AND THE COMIC IS ACTUALLY REAL! IT'S NOT JUST AN IDEA ANYMORE!! WOAH.... #I’ll go first.#I have two story hats and they are the only hats I will wear #one is a baseball cap and it is falling apart #it was given to me for my 12th birthday by someone I accidentally invited and who kind of hates me #and it defines my gender. I had to duct tape it back together because I love it.#it’s also a pretty color.#the other is a bucket hat that I got from my mom’s college’s merch store.#it has pride stuff on it #I have lovingly nicknamed it “the gay hat” (very creative)#it is comfy and also has the benefit of being shaped just right to funnel sound directly into my ears #good for my hearing issues and also music

#tloz #princess zelda #link #assumedly?#botw #totk #technically #loz redesigns round 2 #the first great calamity #the ancient heroes aspect #the ancient hero’s aspect #art #my art #redesign #listen this is probably the one and only time ill draw something furry so if it looks a bit wonky i dont really care lmao #this is one of the few designs where im Under designing one of the characters #ie the heroes aspect is such a messy design #i went of the mural a little bit more for the coloring so a little more orangey red involved in his design #and also changing his face to look a little less offputting #and the greener looking eyes from the mural #the darker fur also helps the teal pop #but yes i made his armor a little less zonai-y and a tad more guardian inspired?#i didnt take away all the zonai vibes because he’s seemingly related to them somehow #i do wish we had a timeline for how long after rauru sealed ganon that this calamity happened #but oh well #but yeah uh zelda #vaguely based on sonia #thats pretty much all i have to say about her lmao #i used more neutrals on her dress to semi emulate the pure white of the mural #while also bringing in more of those sheikah tech colors

I modified the legs a bit #if you recognize this paper good eye #I had a leftover square that was only usable on one side from when I prepare the paper for my oyster #this gold and green coloring was for the exterior :)#you can see a teensy bit of the failed mother of pearl side on the inside of the front legs #really lovely volumes on this one and the thick goopy texture for the oyster actually collaborated beautifully #also again check out that back crimp UGH

the parallels of rottmnt.

-

the way rottmnt portrays the cycle of sacrifice and generational trauma through the concept of the hamato tradition is so beyond phenomenal it’s really hard to articulate with just words how hard it really hits. there’s so many parallels btwn splinter & his history/family than can be seen within raph & leo that can also almost be translated to f!leo & casey in some ways, not to mention the parallels btwn karai and leo as well.

the way splinter tried SO hard to break from that cycle, the way he saw how it effected his family and himself and didn’t want to put his family through it again yet it seemed to be inevitable regardless. he never wanted to have to choose btwn his family and the world and yet even when he made that choice in S1, in the end he still ended up losing a family member (karai) in exchange for time to save the world.

and even though he tried to break the chain so hard, the cycle of sacrifice was still adopted into raph and leo in different ways which was later passed down to donnie and mikey.

not to mention the future timeline where they ended up losing EVERYBODY and in the end of the movie casey is met with the same choice of the world over family just as many family members before him have.

the sacrificial bone and need to protect is just so ingrained into the entire family, to the point where the same events just seem to happen over and over no matter what is done.

the cycle of love and loss, protection and sacrifice, family vs the world. over and over.
