I do not draw the blue outfit as much as I should considering how much I love it 💙🧡 The color palette of aqua, teal, and orange is one of my favorites, which I entirely fail to communicate with my art style LOL I also adore the Trickster makeup. Such flare! Such flash! Such color (not pictured)! LOL
A special note: wishing Joey Vice the best of luck with his endeavors after Kooza! His Trickster was so mesmerizing, so inspiring, that you couldn’t look away. I will forever treasure my memories of the performances I was lucky enough to see ; w ; ✨

Imo in order to finish your writing project you need to be unhealthily obsessed with your characters to a point where you question your sanity

Sae Niijima is such a good character it drives me insane a little. She's not a mother nor a maternal or doting older sister but instead a twenty four year old who was thrown into a position of responsibility that she never asked for. She loves Makoto just as much as she resents her and its so apparent every time they talk up until November. "Are you studying?" (I want you to do well) (I need you to get a job and stop making my life harder) "I'll use any method necessary to get this promotion" (Life will be easier for us) (So stop distracting me with your problems) "Focus on your future" (I know that you're capable) (I can't afford to waste my time on you, so stop wasting time on others)
Makoto is not only the sole reason she pushes as hard as she does for a promotion, for success, and the reason that she loses herself in her animosity over her fathers death, but also someone she can't stand for so long. Makoto was 14-15 when their father died. Sae was 21. As soon as she got the career she wanted and things started to look up, her stability was robbed from her and she was disillusioned with the system that her father had taught her to rely on and completely adhere to. How do you manage, the daughter of a cop, following his footsteps towards law enforcement, when you're suddenly reminded of how unfair it is? You can't quit, your little sister relies on you and she's so young and struggling just as badly with this grief. So you pick yourself up and you get moving again. You push harder, press further. You abandon your morals and your ethics because punishing criminals (guilty or not) is almost like punishing the man who killed your father.
And the whole time she's fighting for promotions, going for drinks with the SIU Director to make herself more favourable for promotions, trying to navigate being a woman in a competitive, suffocating, male-dominated field, falling behind despite doing so much where others are promoted for doing so little - all the while your little sister comes back from school and her biggest issues are so small compared to yours.
Persona 5 revolves so heavily around grief and loss and change and Sae embodies all of that so well, all of the sharp and unpleasant and jagged parts of grief.

Wait why wouldn't Timmy recommend godkids becoming a fairy like I sorta get that it's less food for fairy's or smt and that it's a long process but the way you worded it ( "knowing what he knows no he would never do that or smt) sounded like it was something else, just kinda ominous idk I'm probably just reading too into it
Tumblr media
A claimed child must become a fairy, and fairies must have wings and floaty crowny things. To ensure true devotion to the process, the Fairy Council forbids any fairy from helping, interacting, or being near the child throughout the transformation. The child must want to become a fairy for it to be permanent.
This is the third consequence of becoming a fairy.
After going through such an experience, Timmy is very determined that no other child be taken. They say it's the knowledge that makes people go mad, but Timmy argues it's the changes itself that is maddening. He's lucky he had such a strong mental fortitude to withstand it!!

I think something that's started getting lost in retellings more and more ever since they first changed Dick leaving Robin to being fired from Robin is that a primary motivator in him wanting to "get out of Batman's shadow" is the desire to be viewed as an equal. Like, even as an actual child Dick often had a very low tolerance for being viewed and treated as a child. That's remained an important underlying aspect of his character, but it'd become increasingly easier to miss as he became more and more distanced from the era when everyone knew him as a character who used to work alongside Batman with the Justice League, who used to interact with those characters as mostly equals. I'm glad we have World's Finest now to at least help bring that era back into general awareness but like. The barest hint of anyone treating him like a kid used to really annoy him, even as a kid, and he was never normal about it. And I think you lose a vital aspect of his character by removing that.

the convoluted doctor who lore gets extra funny when you realize that, at two separate points in the past, two different companions to two different doctors ended up running into rasputin but both came to the conclusion that he was a pretty nice and normal guy. which, depending on how you interpret the power of the doctor, is either a nice subversion of a lot of tropes of stories used in pre-soviet russia, or side-splittingly hilarious as you start imagining the master getting roped into various adventures with different versions of the doctor that he can’t fuck with yet or else he’ll destroy the timeline, forcing him to play nice with the humans as part of his 4D Time Chess Master Disguise Plan #3852

i really like the scene where maomao is let go because it serves as a microcosm of a lot of jinmao's pre-relationship tension while also being great use of miscommunication. jinshi wants maomao but not at the cost of her happiness and freedom, and maomao doesn't fight for desires that she believes are out of her grasp as a "lowly commoner."

Head empty, only thinking about Ultra Protective Big Brother Mario at all times and how ever since he was a literal baby who just learned to walk, his first, strongest instinct, as unthinking and instantaneous as a reflex, as breathing, has been to position himself in between Luigi and the slightest hint of danger with absolutely ZERO hesitation
(Their expressions are EXACTLY the same in the 1st and 3rd image!!!! Some things never change!!!! LOOK HOW HARD I CAN CRY!!!!!)

i think we don't talk about what the driving force behind each batcher is enough. like if u think abt it hunter often acts out of fear ( not cowardice , fear that his ppl will get hurt duh ) , while crosshair often acts out pain , tech acts with logic , wrecker with love , and echo ? echo acts out of being true hater

i'm starting to wonder if maedhros either a). didn't know about celegorm and curufin's assault of luthien, or b). never actually sent communication to doriath demanding the silmaril, with celegorm and curufin being the main ones behind it instead. yes fandom has soured me toward the character, but i don't think he's meant to be taken as enough of a sheer moron to expect cooperation from a kingdom after his brothers tried to rape their princess. nor do i think he's written unsympathetically enough for tolkien's intent to have been to make him a rape enabler/apologist who genuinely doesn't care about celegorm and curufin assaulting a woman -- so either c&c lied about what they did and he took whatever version they told him at face value, or he never actually gave his approval for whatever letter was sent to doriath. and the silm does say "maedhros and his brothers had before sent to thingol" and that "maedhros made no answer" after thingol refused the feanorians' demands, which to me is as good as confirmation that maedhros was involved in the exchange. so maybe celegorm and curufin really did keep the true story from him. ...or maybe fandom's fixation on maedhros being some long suffering goodie two shoes is still skewing my perception of him without my realizing and he actually is the kind of person to brush off celegorm and curufin's rape attempt
