Would you perhaps help write a Jurdan pregancy hcs?? If that’s not your forte, I understand. I just love fluffy Jurdan.
I don’t usually do pregnancy hcs but I love Jurdan fluff and I’ll write anything for a request! This actually turned into a rather long fic bc I ended up really enjoying it which means thank you to whoever suggested it!
Jude stumbled from bed, pushing the covers off of her slick body. She felt as if her life had been slowly drained from her for the third day in a row. Her feet tripped over themselves and she made it to the bathing chamber just in time to lose her dinner from the day before. Jude felt her stomach contract violently. She felt dizzy from having stood and ran so quickly and was clutching the rim of the waste bin. The door, which she had been too disoriented to shut all the way, pushed opened. The High Queen heard her husband’s footsteps enter her bathing chamber.
“What…the hell…,” Jude groaned into the circle of her arms. She felt a gentle hand rub circles down the length of her spine.
“Jude dear,” Cardan’s voice was gentle as he tried to pull her chestnut hair back for her. His concern was palpable in the way he hovered over her. “I think we should call a healer. This is the third night in a row you’ve jumped out of bed like this.”
Jude tried to relax the chills that racked her muscles. Judging by the two nights before, her body aches would calm down after a few minutes. Cardan pulled her against the heat of his body. Her back was pressed against his chest and he took her hands in his.
“I’ve been poisoned.” Jude reasoned.
Cardan’s laugh vibrated through her. “Or maybe it’s a cold. I hear humans get them quite frequently during the turn of the seasons.”
Jude shook her head. “I have an incredible immune system, Cardan. I’m offended that you would accuse me of not being able to handle a common cold.”
His tail tickled her ankles as it curled around the exposed skin. “I would never call you weak,” his words were light but the tension in his body told Jude he wasn’t in a joking mood. “I just don’t think it’s poison and if you say it’s not a cold then you must be seriously ill.”
Jude released a heavy breath. Her brain had finally woken up enough to filter through all the poisons that could be eating at her health without her realizing. She didn’t have a fever or cough so she doubted it was a cold. Jude’s breath caught in her throat as she realized what else it could be. The High Queen took a mental tally of her last cycle. Tatterfell had discovered a new tonic that would lighten the burden of her cycles. There was no way to be sure if her late period was thanks to the Faerie tonic or…
“Cardan,” her voice cracked.
“Yes?” He kissed her temple.
“Can you call for Taryn? She caught a cold like this a few months ago. I want to know if her symptoms matched mine,” the lie came out easily. Guilt ate at her.
It had been years since Jude had lied to her husband. They had worked so hard to turn their complicated relationship into one that thrived on love and trust. It was hard in the beginning but after ten years of being married to Cardan, Jude could trust that when he spoke, it was never laced with deceit. Just as he could trust that she’d never use her mortal ability to trick him ever again.
This lie, however, felt different. If her worries were correct then she’d come clean soon enough. If she was wrong then there was no need to confuse Cardan with the possibility of something that may not even be real.
Cardan agreed to call for Taryn and Jude took that time to clean herself up a bit. Once she felt presentable, she made her way back to bed. The High King also rang for a healer, not wanting to risk anything worsening.
The minutes slowly passed as Jude waited for her sister. Cardan continued to run his hands through her hair as they waited. He was a silent, steady presence behind her. A loud knock burst through their room and he called for the servant to enter. Behind the nymph trailed a concerned looking Taryn and a bored court healer.
Cardan excused himself from the room as Jude talked to her sister. Taryn’s eyes widened as her twin described her symptoms.
“Jude!” She exclaimed in joy.
“Quiet down, Taryn! I don’t want anyone to get suspicious before it’s confirmed.” She glared at her sister. The High Queen turned her eyes to the healer. “What do you think?”
The healer’s sharp eyes ran down the length of her body. “Have you experienced any unusual weight gain?”
Jude couldn’t answer with certainty. She was a warrior before she was a monarch. Her body had fluctuated in weight after numerous changes in diet, training, and not to mention torture. She had noticed her armor fitting a little tighter in areas it hadn’t usually bothered her.
“Yes, I think so.”
The healer motioned for her to lay down. She spoke quiet words in an ancient language. Jude shivered as the Fae placed a withered hand on her stomach. The words whispered of life and seemed to echo in the large bedroom. The healer’s eyes closed for a second as she waited to hear the response.
“It’s true, Your Majesty. You are with child.”
Jude’s limbs froze. Taryn squealed through her hands. The healer stood unmoving.
“I-I’m pregnant?” she looked down at her stomach in disbelief.
The healer nodded. “You and your sister are twins.”
Jude’s eyes jumped to the Faerie again. “Yes. Why?”
The healer gestured again but this time to tell the Queen to sit up. “It’s still too early to tell but there is a chance that you could carry more than one.”
A shocked laugh escaped Jude as she stared at her sister. She looked back at the healer and thanked her for her service. The creature nodded a goodbye. Taryn bobbed up and down, looking with undiluted happiness at her twin.
“Jude! Congratulations! Vivi’s going to be so jealous when she finds out that I got to be here.”
“Taryn, what the hell am I going to do? I don’t know how to be a mom. I can’t-I don’t…” Jude words cut off and her face flushed with tears she hadn’t realized were building.
Taryn looked surprised by Jude reaction. To her credit, she didn’t hesitate to take a seat on the edge of the bed. “Jude. Listen to me. You are High Queen of Elfhame. You’ve been kidnapped, poisoned, stabbed, beaten, and tortured. You’ve stood against enemies older than most human civilizations. You are Jude Duarte. You will handle this like you’ve handled every other situation that has been thrown at you…or well, like every other situation that you’ve blindly out yourself in!”
Jude shook her head. “I’ve stabbed my way through most of those situations. I can’t exactly stab an infant, Taryn.”
Her sister scoffed. “Believe me, Jude, if I could make it through my pregnancy and learn the ropes of motherhood given everything that was happening around us, you can as well.”
Jude chewed over the thought, realizing Taryn was right. When Taryn’s first child was born, she was recently-widowed and Elfhame’s monarchy was still new to the land. Right now they were in a time of peace with no imminent threat to the kingdom. Plus Jude had her sister’s previous experience to learn from. And Cardan.
“Cardan!” Jude started. “I have to tell him.”
Taryn jumped from the bed. “Oh! You have to let me know how he reacts!”
Jude wiped a stray tear from her cheek and nodded. “Thank you, Taryn.”
Her sister gave her a sweet smile. “I hope he faints,” she giggled and turned to leave.
Not two seconds later, Cardan strode into the room. He took one look at Jude’s pale face and stopped in his tracks.
“What is it?” He sounded anxious.
Jude stood, meeting him halfway in the room. The High King intertwined his fingers with his wife’s. He leaned forward so that his brow met hers. She took a deep breath and steeled herself to say the words.
“Cardan…I’m pregnant.”
He jerked back, but kept his hands in hers. “You’re-you’re what?”
“I’m pregnant,” She repeated the words, not fully believing them even as they left her mouth.
His dark eyes were wide as he stared down at her. “You’re carrying our child,” wonder filled his voice. “I’m going to be a father?”
“There’s no guarentee that you’re the father but-” she broke off with a wicked smile.
Cardan laughed, a silver shine glittering in his eyes. His smile was blindingly bright as he said, “I’m going to be a father!”
Jude nodded, once again surprised by the tears that welled in her own eyes. “You’re happy about the news?”
Her husband gave her a look of disbelief. “Jude, I’m more than happy.”
“But we never talked about children. Never made plans.”
“That’s because I was afraid. Some Faeries go decades without reproducing and we’ve always been aware of the fact that won’t have decades to wait. It felt selfish to ask you to spend all that time working towards a family that we wouldn’t have gotten. I didn’t want to disappoint you.”
Jude ran a finger along his sharp jawline. “You could never disappoint me, Cardan. I love you. Child or no child. We would have found a way to make our own family if that’s what we wanted.”
The High King didn’t bother to wipe the tears of joy from his cheeks. He grabbed Jude’s waist and ran a hand across the front of her stomach. “This is going to be most beautiful child Elfhame as ever seen. How could it not be? With me as it’s father.”
The Queen used her thumbs to brush away Cardan’s tears. “That’s assuming you’re the father.”
His laugh filled the room. Cardan’s smiling lips met hers. Jude melted into a kiss that left her soul singing. His fingers tickled the curves of her waist. Jude pressed herself hard against him, wanting to feel every part of him. Cardan held himself back.
“Careful, I don’t want to squish our little bean.”
Jude rolled her eyes. “We’re not going to squish it, Cardan.”
He shook his head. “I’m not willing to risk it.” Instead, the High King kneeled at Jude’s feet and placed a protective hand over her stomach. “I love you very much, my little bean.”
“Cardan!” Jude groaned. “Stop calling it that.”
He looked up at her through innocent eyes that were framed with beautiful lashes. “Little Bean,” he said thoughtfully. “I like it.” He looked back at her stomach and pulled up her shirt. Cardan kissed right above her naval. “I’m going to do everything in my power to protect you, Little Bean.”
Jude’s chest tightened at the fierceness in his voice. She ran a hand through his unkempt curls.
“I didn’t have a family who fought for me. But I will fight for you. Every day of my life, Little Bean.”
A lump formed in Jude’s throat and she had to push back yet another wave of tears. Apparently, this pregnancy was going to turn her into a crier. She was not excited for that.
“I’m sure Little Bean can hear you,” the gentleness in Jude’s tone was new to her. “You’re going to be a great father, Cardan.” She could already see the wave of fears that were dancing around her husband’s head.
He didn’t meet her gaze so Jude knelt down to look him in the eyes. “This Little Bean is going to be loved and protected in all the ways we weren’t. We’re going to make sure of it.” She pulled her husband into a tight embrace. “I love you.”
“I love you,” he repeated. He let himself hold his wife tightly for a few lingering moments.
“But I love Little Bean more now so please stop trying to squish it.”

Tales from Shadowhunter Academy thought-rant
Maybe it's because I read the series out of order that I have this opinion. But I wish Tales from Shadowhunter Academy had more stories following Simon and George and the like around their training and their missions for the school. Admittedly the first time I read it, I had only read the City of series, and I was eager for more Simon and Izzy so TfSA seemed perfect and I got attached to the character since I skipped to all the Simon scenes. Upon second reading, I had finished the Infernal Devices trilogy which soon became my favorite. I loved the Victorian fantasy aesthetic and all the literary quotes between Tessa and Will, and just ahh a lot of it. Anyway, so some of the stories made more sense now I knew who all these characters were.
However, I still stand by how I wish more of it was focused on Simon at the Academy. In the 10 stories, 4 are stories within a story (The Whitechapel Fiend, Nothing but shadows, The evil we love, Pale Kings and Princes) and 2 have a major focus on side characters to set up future stories (Born to an endless night, Bitter Tongue).
Now don't get me wrong I enjoyed Born to an endless night and The Evil we love. It's always great to see the growing Lightwood-Bane family and compare their acceptance of Magnus to The Evil we love about Robert's time in The Circle. I was so disappointed to find out The Circle graphic novel was canned. I wanted to know more about them. At least The Evil we Love gave a taste, and later Celine’s story. I especially liked Pale Kings and Princes because of how it combines the past with the downworlder prejudice that Simon is trying to combat after the events of the Fae-Sabastian alliance and New Accords. But ones like The Whitechapel Fiend and Nothing but Shadows felt like it was using the Academy as frame stories so people can see the Infernal Devices gang again and learn about the Chain of Gold generation.
Which is nice but.... we have so much content coming from Ghosts of the ShadowMarket, the Chain of Gold trilogy, even in the Magnus Bane. Chronicles which I'd argue is a better use of it since Magnus is part of the story, trying to help James in The Midnight Heir compared to Simon who just listens and learns relevant lessons. I guess the big reason why I want more about Simon's time at the Academy is that I actually wanted to know more about his fellow students.
George, ah, I ADORE George Lovelace. I'd give to see two whole novellas about him, he is so charming. I agree with Simon, he is a wonderful guy and could give Jace a run for his money.
But there's also Marisol Garza Solcedo. It's implied she's had a hard life, dead parents, and that she specifically came to the Academy to learn to fight. I want to know more! What is it like for mundanes like Marisol who don't have any special connections to prominent families (like Kit), just bad lives and iron wills. Like Simon wondered, what drove a 13 year old to join the Academy to potentially die by fighting demons or by ascending. And what about Beatriz Velez Mendoza whose father, grandfather, and brother died during the Dark War? Were they the heads of the family? What was it like when it was only women? She grew up away from Idris, what was it like? How did that inform her nicer perception of Downworlders/does she ever feel pressured to live up to the family members who died? Beatriz who is distantly related to Cristina Rosales-Mendoza, do they know each other at all?
And Jon Cartwright? Is there something he should be ashamed about his family as Scarsbury implied? What was it for him to become close to the dregs that he scorned so much? To fall in love with Marisol? Did he fear his family might disapprove? Is that why he dated Julie briefly before falling hard and committedly to Marisol?
And there's Julie Beauvale. We only had one scene of sympathy to know her mother and sister died, but what about her dad? She says he's useless now, what is it like to live with a dad who may be permanently traumatized or changed? How hard is it to reconcile what you thought you knew about your whole life and culture to realize The Law may be wrong? How did she finally succumb to the charm of George Lovelace (I mean, it's not hard to imagine, George is a gem after all. But I want more flirty George and even sexy George). And what about Vivian Penhollow having to make the Academy work after being retired for the last 50 or so years. Vivian trying not to let her cousin-in-law and Consul Jia down. And someone really trying to reconcile Downworlders and Shadowhunters. Sunil and Boris and the like. I wanted to see their missions, the different styles of leadership between them.
I want to see more of their personality flaws, how they handle possibly failing in archery or something, maybe some heart to hearts and those classic back to back fight poses. If we didn't have that Nothing but Shadows story we could have seen shadowhunter vs mundane baseball! Maybe have them track or fight or something with downworlders we haven’t seen. I always wanted to see more of how mermaids are in this world. Maybe even kelpies. Something besides the big three of vamps, werewolves and fae.
I just feel that these characters had so much more depth potential to be mined but they were sidelined in favor of stories with characters that will have whole novels/POVs in future books. I know Simon can't be observant of everyone since he has his own problems and was trying to get a date with Izzy, I understand that but maybe we could have gotten more explicit hints.
He was surprised that Beatriz and Julie became parabatai, I was too. Cassandra wrote on her tumblr it was because "Aw, you’re so sweet! I’m so glad you like Julie and Beatriz. It was fun to write them, in that they were having a whole sromance (like a bromance but with girls!) which Simon wasn’t entirely aware of. I actually think that Julie and Beatriz weren’t that close before they went to the Academy, but that through knowing Simon, George and Beatriz, Julie’s mind and the way she wanted to live was changed forever, and she wanted (and asked) Beatriz to be parabatai with her for the same reason I think a lot of people want a parabatai… to have someone who keeps them right, to have someone who makes them a better Shadowhunter, not just practically but morally." Well, how do they do that? What does Beatriz get from Julie's harshness? How does Julie become more compassionate? We wouldn't know because as she said Simon doesn't notice, which is a slight shame because until Chain of Gold, we didn't have a female-female parabatai duo.
Jon apparently comes to care so much for George that he cries at his funeral. How would we get that? They hardly hung out until the last story. Simon only starts noticing Marisol and Jon's relationship as something romantic in Angels Twice Descending. Well, I wanted to know more about them too. Because it was clear that something was developing beyond Marisol wanting to scare and humble Jon. When did they first click as something more?
I knew they wouldn't be main characters, they wouldn't be saviors of the big battles and I certainly didn't expect them to be anything more than cameos. But if they'd gotten explored a little more, just for these novellas to focus on them, their deaths in Lord Midnight and Queen of Air and Darkness would become even more poignant because we care about them as characters, not just as Simon's friends. Basically I wish there was some more love for them and maybe more headcanons besides the ones swirling in my head about these unanswered questions. So if you have hcs or ideas or want to add to the rant. Reblog and add on.

This came from a random hc about moschicane cuddling in the moschicane server and Fae asked me to post it so here we are!! (just did a quick word count check and this thing is 1.5k holy crap)
The first time, it's an accident.
They're on the run and need to dip into a hotel room. It's easier to get away with a single, if someone is looking for two people. They stay up late, later than, perhaps, they should. Breaths held, adrenaline shooting their heart rates up.
After a while, it becomes obvious that no one is going to be there and they laugh at another job done, another close call. They try to decide who's going to take the bed, but it's late. And it doesn't really matter, does it? They've fucked before, in that post heist success, no strings attached kind of way. Sure, they always went to separate beds afterward, if they even made it to one in the first place. But, this shouldn't be that different, right?
So they settle in, stiffly at first before laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. Ned's being dramatic, flopping on Boyd, draping himself over him. But they're tired, and eventually they fall asleep. Separated, distance between them that they're sure that they can maintain. But.
It's morning the next day. Afternoon, really, and Ned wakes up first. It's dark and he feels trapped and he panics a bit, hearth thundering in his chest. But then, he realizes he recognizes that scent, knows what it's like to be trapped by those arms and he relaxes again.
Then he starts panicking for another reason. They're fuck buddies, partners in crime and in bed, but they aren't partners in the romantic sense. Ned doesn't know how to risk it, how to be anything more, it terrifies him. It doesn't matter how much he wants it, the heart of the matter is he's scared. He contented himself with post heist laughs and fucks, and was so so desperate to keep that line firm, to not put his heart in danger like that. But. This is. Nice.
Perhaps, just this once, he can let the lines blur a little more, perhaps he can let this happen. Just this once
Ned falls back asleep, resolute in his thought that this would be the one time he'd let this happen. Boyd though, Boyd wakes up after Ned goes to sleep and his heart aches.
He knows what he wants. He's a greedy man, he knows this. He wants and wants and wants. Money, food, treasure. More than all that, though, he wants this. Ned at his side, be it in a mansion they're raiding, or in his bed, fucking him hard and fast and dirty, in an alley after they've celebrated a job well done and can't wait to get to the shitty motel of the week.
More than that, though, he wants to hold Ned close, to love him and protect him and be with him. He thinks that, maybe, if he could just have this man next to him, if he could just have him and be had by him, he could content himself with that.
He thinks he could put all this aside, all the danger and the thrill of a heist, all of it could be put aside if it's what Ned wanted. If he was who Ned wanted.
But, he isn't. This isn't a story, and he doesn't get a happy ending. He doesn't get the prince, he's the dragon that keeps him locked in the tower (no matter that it's only because the price doesn't want to leave, that the prince is more happy in the company of dragons than he is of men. He doesn't know this, how could he when the prince never says so?).
Maybe he shouldn't do this to himself. It's only going to hurt later, when Ned wakes up and laughs it off and never lets it happen again. But, he can't help himself, and so he lays there, arms wrapped around Ned's waist, holding him close and indulging in fantasies best kept quiet, until Ned starts to stir. Then, he slides his arms out from around him, and gets up, and pretends that this hadn't happened, that he hadn't had everything he's ever wanted in his hands.
And when Ned asks him what’s for lunch, he smiles and says whatever he wants, knowing that at least he's lucky enough to have this. Even if it's not everything, it's more than he thought he would have, and it has to be enough. If it isn't, well, the heists are fun too.
it's been months, now, since the first incident. They've had to share a bed twice now, and each time, Boyd has awoken first and disentangled himself. He's always been the one who was holding Ned, and getting out of the situation without waking Ned is difficult each time.
Still, a part of him is soothed by the fact that he can even do it in the first place. When they were just starting out, Boyd even getting up out of bed from the other side of the room would wake Ned up. Now, they are far more comfortable with each other.
(That is, perhaps, something that isn't good. One day, someone is going to break in and well, that's a story for another day.)
This time, however, things are different. One) Boyd's head is on Ned's stomach, Ned's arms around him. Second, Boyd remembers that they had had sex the night before, and both are (surprisingly) naked, so Boyd can feel, skin to skin, everywhere they are touching. Thirdly, and most surprisingly, Ned is awake.
Ned is awake and stroking Boyd's head in very soothing motions.
Boyd freezes. This is... new. He doesn't know what to do about this, exactly. They've not done this before.
"Good morning," Ned rumbles, voice still heavy with sleep.
"Good morning," Boyd returns. And that's that.
They don't talk about it. For months, the subject is never brought up. Instead, they fall into bed together, more and more often, and now it occurs even when they don't have sex. They can be on the couch, watching tv, relaxing between jobs, sharing a blanket, one arm draped behind the other, curled up together. This is their new normal now. They don't talk about it.
Until they do
It's been about eight months since the first incident, five since it became a regular occurrence. It's in those sleepy hours, where maybe it's one day, or maybe it's the other. Time is blurred and undefined, and all that exists is this moment. They're not doing anything, not really. Ned is laying on Boyd's stomach, and they're reading a book together. Boyd suspects that Ned isn't really reading, but that's neither here nor there.
"This is nice," Ned starts, soft and unsure, so unlike himself. Boyd blinks.
"Yes, it is," he agrees. He continues flipping pages, but he's not really paying attention to the words on the page, not anymore. His mind is alive with questions, with possibilities. Why would Ned say that?
He had said it in his quiet voice too. The one he uses when something really matters to him, but he's afraid, because it means too much for him to spoil by speaking it aloud, as though speaking it into existence would shatter it.
"I love you," Ned blurts, and Boyd drops his book. It's unfortunate that it's a hardback, even more so since it lands on Ned's side with a thud. Ned winces, more out of reflex than actual pain, and keeps his head down, eyes not meeting Boyd’s.
Things are quiet for a few moments as Boyd processes. That didn't happen. Yes it did. Does Ned love me? He did say it, is he lying? No he wasn't using his lying voice. What is going on.
After a minute, Boyd realizes he hasn't answered yet, and that Ned is starting to slip from his arms. "Stay, please," Boyd says, wrapping his arms around him, glad that the book had slid to the floor after it fell on Ned. "Why?" Boyd asks, knowing it't not the right time to ask, but needing to know anyway.
"Because," Ned says, but he trails off, shrugging his shoulders. "This is nice," he repeats again. And it's not an answer, not really, but Boyd still understands, and he knows it's enough of an answer for now.
"I love you, too," Boyd answers, tightening his arms around Ned. And it's not everything, not yet. They're still on the run, still have things they have to answer, still are stuck in a life on the run where funds and always fluctuating. But they have this, they have each other and, for now, it's enough.

With a Bunch of AUs Combined, I am CAPTAIN PLANET-W8, wrong fandom
(Askbox is too small so I guess it’s time to show my AU spewing username I guess lol 0///0 hi…)
AUs & HCs: NotaMarauder!Remus (Possible Future Snupin) + Jily Didn’t Date-Marry Drunk1NiteStand to make Harry + DiffDads Lily&Petunia + Resurrected FaeLily AU
A Post Idea So Long that it’s almost like a Fic Outline: An AU where Remus was never a Marauder could actually is super interesting, because it has a spiraling implications on canon. Remus, Severus and Lily is like the sweet trifecta of book & magic nerds. Also like, being friends with Remus would drive Sev to research Werewolf remedies and care? Also be Concerned about his friend’s life.
But like, I’m not sure that Lily and Sev would do the exact same thing that the CanonMarauders do (learn to be Animagi and leave the Shrieking Shack w/ Remus even when he’s not supposed to). Maybe Severus trying to make Wolfsbane more accessible/cheaper? Or better yet, both him and Lily approach this like ethical scientists.
But on the other hand as a frequent consumer of Werewolf fiction I don’t really like how traditional and human-centric the version of Werewolves that JKR used in her ‘verse? Like, what is a werewolf like when they’re emotionally stable, feel secure, healthy? Why would they be hostile to humans in general? Why generalized feral hostility? Is it actually ingrained or a result of underlying mishandling of socialization/emotional-social support? Because obviously, Canon!James who turned into a freaking Stag didn’t get eaten so there must be something to the state of Lycanthropy. Is it a possibly segue into being a Skinwalker? Lost or suppressed information?
Would Lupin theoretically be able to keep his mind and not attack his friends or have the choice overall with better, calmer support?
Back to the AU, something that would keep Lily from drifting out of her friendship with Severus could be Remus? I’m remembering that whole, Remus Morality post thing you referenced a while back. And intense loyalty seems like a thing Remus could bring to the table? I’m not sure how else not being a Marauder would affect his personality though. Thoughts?
But since Sirius doesn’t have a Werewolf to Prank Severus with anymore I wonder what would happen then? Would it be more James or Sirius or Peter trying to snoop into where the three go during the full moon nearly every month? How would that spiral? Sev and Lily trying to close ranks around Remus, whom they don’t quite know if Dumbledore is willing to back that horse for too long compared to those with “higher” status like, James & Sirius?
Maybe a part of Sev’s radicalization that drove a spike between his and Remus’ friendship could be Severus trying to court Remus to the Dark Lord’s party? Because they were recruiting both poor and marginalized populations after all, also I *think* Remus is a pureblood technically? I forget. And Remus would’ve gotten so PISSED because he knows that would be condoning/supporting all the bad things people say about Lily, one of his only other very close friends, plus a bunch of other bad things that DEs are doing.
The friendship split between Lily and Severus would be longer, more protracted and hurtful, not just one big blowup and a final death knell slip of the tongue. But Lily and Remus trying to reel their friend back in on top of all their other baggage (they are destined, by social constructs and WW societal standards, for mediocrity, struggle and poverty after all) and Failing. And that hurts.
And when they all graduate, Lily shortly after joins the Order, or is invited because I guess they want skilled people, and Lily Was Exceptional. But she brings along Remus, who James, Sirius & Peter (and an 4th OC or something if we need to replace, but not really tbh) may distrust him because of the thing that happened when they followed? If James /actually/ changed (that Felix Felicis-enhanced talking thing) though he might be not be shitty about it though, but I can’t really imagine Sirius letting it go what with his terrible maladaptive coping mechanisms and all. Remus might get outed among the Order, maybe, idk. That could sow distrust of him, and why they don’t tell when they shove Lily and James into a cottage with their Bastard child together in hiding.
Then it goes like that from canon, Peter is made Secret Keeper, with Sirius as the obvious decoy keeper. Severus tries to curry favor from his grunt position as a DE and accidentally spells the death knell for his estranged friend Lily, is flipped when he finallyyyy realized he’d done super-fucked up and goes to Dumbledore.
Then James & Lily get attacked by Voldie & DEs, James takes a couple DEs down before dying via AK, Lily had been researching a bunch of dark/new magic things to protect herself and her kid (who she deliberated on and eventually decided to keep). She takes a bunch of DEs down, and gives Voldemort a run for his money, but lets down her guard when Peter shows up because up until this point, despite the bad blood in school, she’s known him as a comrade in the Order.
Peter basically cripples her in a surprise attack, and then Voldemort comes up to gloat, monologue and eventually finish the job. Lily spits in his face while dying.
The underlying new ritual/shield/magic-whatever Lily cooked up while in hiding goes on not quite as planned because it overlaps with Voldemort’s accidental-Horcrux making that basically ghostifies him. But Lily still dies the first time.
Cue Sirius getting falsely accused and Azkaban’d, Harry going to the Dursleys because supposed Blood Wards (which actually would be fine with just Harry himself and what he considers home I guess, maybe). Remus gets cut out of the picture because of his financial and career instability, also Werewolfism and other dumb prejudice, so he’s out of the loop and isn’t told about Sev being a flipped spy either.
Cue a few years later, turns out that Lily’s biodad is actually a Fae of some kind that she had minor contact with him through postcards and letters during her life. But eventually, he pitched in on some magical doohickery for the magical design stuff she did while in hiding in Godric’s Hollow. Then everything kicks off again a mostly Amnesiac FaeLily crawls out of her grave and gets a burning treewand branch of a Groot-Arm.
Somehow this culminates FaeLily accidentally getting the band back together and yoinking Harry. Then cue shenanigans and reconciliation and character development/interactions and possibly romantic Snupin and maybe an earned happy ending somewhere because my heart is soft and I’m a total weenie and this post got way longer than I thought it’d be lol. Overall thoughts? Impressions? Anything I missed while stringing these half-baked ideas together? X3
Thanks for reading and responding to so many of my posts. Your takes and posts are always a delight to read! <3333
Part2 of the AU Multi-fecta Thing I Sent Earlier
Some stuff I forgot:
-Tempted to name this Sweet Insane Combo of an AU: 2 Gryffindors and a Slytherin Walk into a Traincar
-Maybe add some shades of the Cons of Cokeworth AU idea (yes I sent that too, I’m literally a neverending fountain of AUs and theories for literally every fandom I get into, it’s a gift). –Lily constantly worries over money (Petunia’s biodad’s the gambler?) and is bitter over the way society is structured, leading her to grow into an excellent, Hard-working Con & Swindler-of-those-that-deserve-it (like how she’s been fleecing James, Sirius, Peter and others for all 7 of her Hogwarts years while trying to maintain good PR without being known as a money grubber or a thief bc Anonymity is Key)
-TBH i feel like she’d just cook up a plan to live with her 2 friends after school because “it’s cheaper” and she figures that they could’ve kept up the Werewolf research stuff easier by being housemates, but hilariously and sadly forgetting to tell said 2 friends about her plans before starting to work her ass off to scrape up as much money as possible. –“We all know Rems would guilt himself into living like a fucking hobo, and Cokeworth is a place where dreams go to die, so of course we’re getting a fucking house.”
-Yanno, then the AU-version of the Friendship split and Voldemort faction gains even more traction with the 1st WW Civil War going on.
-Trawling through the wiki again, Remus’ parents basically isolated him a pretty unhealthy amount I feel (like they probably thought they were doing the right thing at the time, which solved an immediate problem, but ends up compounding into a long-term host of issues)? Which I don’t think did Lupin’s socialization and emotional stabilitygrowth sloshing down into his Werewolf form any favors perhaps?
-So basically Remus refused to move back in with his dad (because he didn’t want to burden his dad I guess), despite him being alive, so Remus living in poverty-plus probably in and out of homelessess as well as the medical and security complications of being a werewolf without access to necessary resources? Also okay I forgot that Remus was a Halfblood too, whoops
-There’s an Irony in that Severus is the most human (species-wise) between the 3 AU Friends, what with Werewolf!Remus and Post-Resurrection Fae!Lily
-There’d be a whole mystery as to the intentions of Lily’s mysterious Fae Parent father(?), which may or may not be good intentions, they just don’t really know atm
…Okay I think that’s it… Whew, thoughts?
X'3
Nice to finally meet you @markala5
ok wow this is a lot. first of all i love it and it feels whole so i don’t know what i can say. it’s the found family trope subverted a little because things fall apart but they get back together when lily is resurrected. and voldemort and his death eaters get to be the big bad. plus dumbledore as the leader of the order who is starting to realise that harry needs to end voldemort and his horcruxes but lily can’t imagine letting her child do that because she’s grown to love him after forgetting him so instead of the golden trio, it’s lily, severus and remus finding the horcruxes but harry needs to die and the three of them are frantically researching a solution but it needs to happen. they send him off in a manner similar to canon except they’re alive and later they see harry’s body and he’s so small and it’s so heartbreaking until he runs from the death eaters.
this au has so much potential
