I am once again going down the rabbit hole of trying to figure out the ages of the Gallifrey characters

#idk why my brain gets so caught up on this but it does #I’m also talking like start of gallifrey because I’m not getting into all that for them now #what bothers me the most is that we’ve got basically nothing on Narvin #I can’t remember for sure but I don’t even think we know what regeneration he’s on #I don’t think it would be hard to assume his first but also it could not be #like for brax we know he’s older than the doctor so that puts him at at least 1000 #and romana is around 600 years younger than the doctor so she’d be around 400 #and then I’m going with 50 ish for leela because we don’t know her actual age so I’m using Louise jamesons age plus the time she spent #married to andred #also with romana that’s assuming that her and the doctor experienced the same amount of time in between them traveling together and the #start of gallifrey #I guess that could also count for brax too but whatever #for narvin what we’ve got is that he was above the rank of a junior agent under vansell during the time of the fourth doctor #(at least probably)#so we can make the assumption that he wasn’t fresh out of the academy/cia training #which makes me inclined to say that he’s older than romana #but that’s really all I’ve got on him #doctor who #gallifrey #romana #irving braxiatel #narvin #leela #clearly this is a subject I am normal about #if anyone else makes it this far in my rant and has any insights I’d love to hear them

it is kind of crazy to witness how people who make real money (have a salary) live because my roommate is trying a new local meal delivery service and she’s been really enjoying it so i just went and looked at their website and it’s at least $100+ a week which boggles the mind. meanwhile i’m going to the grocery store & always hitting the “20 items or fewer” lane & getting mad when i have to pay more than $50

#i saw her grocery receipt yesterday too and that was also $125 or something #and she got basically the same AMOUNT of stuff that i did yesterday! we both came back from different stores at around the same time #i paid something like $48 and she got basically the same amount of stuff as i did but for more the double the price #idk it’s just wild to think about. it feels impossible for me to ever have that kind of money #and like i have my vices. i’m not immune to takeout sandwich on the way home from work. etc #but that’s also considering how HUGE it is for me to even be able to do that in the first place; i’m much better off financially than i have #been in the past. part of what’s contributing to even my $50 grocery bill is how i buy those big bolthouse juices once a week now #which in the past would have been completely off limits #idk it’s just insane to think about how little money so much of us live off of #anyway.#chatpost

#surely this isn't normal #my dreams are like a portal to another life #sometimes i dream about the next day in advance #like with full details. and i often plan lessons in my sleep #sometimes i dream up entire stories with full fledged characters and backstories and intricate plot points etc #last night i dreamt up not just one but about ten such episodes #in the same night i also dreamt that i started taking T and had sex with a random girl and then had. a kinky adventure with dean winchester #(i love being ace about also this dream sex was pretty nice!)#i'm not gonna tell all the stories bc we would be here all day but #there were a Lot of different stories in my dream #full stories that all felt like they happened over the course of days or weeks or months or years in some cases #god i met so many different people in one night and they don't even exist #how i am expected to function properly when my head is so full of memories from lives i never lived but also kind of did #i feel like there's a hundred different universes in my memories and they're all from dreams but they all feel super real #like oh yeah remember that time i was part of a forest dwelling society that started gaining powers and we all thought they were #evil powers but it turns out the forest had given us the ability to communicate with it and to fly and to heal #or oh yeah i traveled the world once and then on my way back i had to cheat customs that wanted to charge me an exorbitant amount of money #for my luggage #by jumping down the luggage slide and travelling with the luggage #or oh yeah i was on T once and actually lost my T pills in a swamp but i dug around and ended up finding them #and i started to grow facial hair after like a week #like stoooop that's too many lives to live #every single night i go through another portal and live a whole ass life #rain.stuff #rain.dreams

something i did like about my original story for my ship was the idea of us getting stuck together in a place for an undetermined amount of time being the only way we would actually broach the tension and confess feelings so i'm trying to cook up a way that could happen in my lore now ehe

#because originally it was getting snowed in but since we already live in the same place in this continuity #it has to be something a little more close quarters and also isolated from others #i was thinking getting lost or something in the catacombs/dungeons/some type of underground tunnels etc #- that are underneath the ministry for like. a good few hours #but is that too morbid? or just the right amount of morbid #also i don't do well with tight enclosed spaces i am claustrophobic #and so part of it is him having to comfort me which i think inadvertently makes him let down his guard around me a bit #also this would be when i would find out that he's part of the emeritus bloodline #since it's kind of a secret #he mentions his brothers off hand and i'm like ''oh! you've never mentioned having brothers!''#and he's like. kicking himself #i just have to figure a plot pretense to get us stuck together #because i like that as a trope and also i think we're both too weird about it to actually confess #unless we were stuck having to acknowledge the connection between us #what do you have to say doll?

Hrmm... Revising my game and I feel like there's still sooo much writing left to do, for something that probably won't even amount to much, so.. I do want to narrow my focus more (especially given my health problems seeming to get worse/less energy the past few years), but I'm not sure how would be best to...

I currently have 5 characters as the Main ones with full planned questlines and such, with each character having 6 quests you can do for them. But I haven't really started the writing for the 5th main character. So then I was thinking, if I were going to write 6 full quests worth of content anyway... is it better to allocate that time on just doing a Complete 6 Quests for ONE single character, OR would it be better to do something like.. choose THREE side characters and do 2 quests for each of them? So that people have a wider variety to interact with and sort of sample around (of course with the idea that, once the first version of the game is released, IF people actually care about it enough to make it worth the effort, I would then add additional content to complete those 3 characters stories as well)

If you were playing an interactive fiction sort of game centered around talking to & doing quests for a cast of characters (like there's no larger plot, more it's just about interacting with people, every character kind of has a self contained story, the focus is just learning about them and the world and exploring the area) --- Which would you rather have?

(and of course it would be stated up front which characters have only partial questlines, so people don't expect them to have full quests like the others and then get disappointed, or etc. etc.)

Basically, is it better to just focus in specifically on having one fully complete questline? Or for there to be a few stories that are not complete yet, but have more initial options available?

#I guess I just feel weird about investing too much into characters if possibly nobody will like them. so the idea of being able to sample #around a wider variety opens up the option of like 'hey even if neither of these 4 are your favorite - you have 3 other options soon too!'#or whatever. BUT I also am very anti-the trend of releasing half finished games or shit like that where people preorder and then #the game sucks on actual release and isn't fully playable or good until 5 updates later #HOWEVER.. those are giant companies with hundreds of employees and millions in funding. I feel like it's different for someone #if they're just like ''hey I am getting zero money for this and doing it entirely on my own in my free time and before I do like 50+ hours #of work on top of the 100+ hours of work that I already did - I would like maybe to at least see some proof #people are interested in this - so I'm releasing the game with like a small amount of the originally intended content removed #that I still have planned out and hope to add later and the game is still entirely done and completely functional #except for just a few quests I might add later.. sorry'' etc. etc. ??? like I think that's different. but maybe some people dont see #it that way and would still be like 'grrr.. how dare there be unfinished options..>:V" idk #And the nature of the quests is such that it's not weird to have it be partial like.. again.there's no major plot. it's not like the quests #are leading up to some dramatic thing and having them half done would make it feel like a cliffhanger. It's meant to be very casual just #chilling and doing little tasks and such. And last thing to clarify I guess - by 'side character' I don't mean taking some unimportant bac #ground character and forcing them to have quests. I mean like.. originally the game had 8 full characters and I thought that was #too much so I cut it down to 5. So I still had everything planned for all the side characters too. Id' just be like.. re-giving them #quests and focuses that were already planned from the beginning but that I got rid of.. former main characters banished to the side lol..#ANYWAY... hrmm... hard to decide... It's just so niche I think. I feel more and more like I should just get it to a 'proof #of concept' state and get it out there to interest check rather than invest in it soooo much for nothing. Because I really do not have the #tastes other people do or interact with games or have interest in things in the same way. A lot of the stuff that I love (slow. character #focused things with basicaly no action or plot where its' just about getting to explore a world and learn about #people in a casual low stakes setting but ALSO not romance) I think people find very boring so... lol...#This year as I try to pick the project back up again after abandoning it for like 3 years I keep looking at stuff and going.. ough...#yeah... cut this maybe.. I should cut that too.. I should make them a side character.. remove this.. blah blah..#Though I did ADD a journal and inventory system and other things that like People Expect Games To Have so.. maybe #that will count for something.. hey..you can collect items.. it's not just 'talking to elves for 600 hours simulator'.. are you #entertained yet? lol.... When I was making my other tiny game for that pet website and I gave it to the play testers and someone was like #''it should have achievements so I feel I'm working towards something concrete'' I was literally so blindsided like..??... people WANT that #in games..? is the goal not simply to wander aimlessly &fixate on world/character lore& make your own silly pointless personal goals? I did #do them though because it IS fun to make up little achievement names and such but.. i fear i am out of touch so bad lol..

i dont want to give in to Modern Shapewear but i really hate when im trying to have a Fun Outfit and theres fucking Distinct Lines from various under wear bands (bra, undies, maybe a pair of tights?) all at separate points? that are impossible to hide bc the outer wear is fucking form fitting spandex

#toy txt post #if it were easier to make bespoke structured underclothing to create a smoother silhouette. god. i would. but thats so much more investment #in time and money and materials and hours to probably fuck it up at least the first coupke times vs just buying a fucking tummy control #camisole or some shit. but i cannot fucking stand the marketing around it. i dont want to put money to that. im not trying to Look Thinner #im trying to achieve a specific smoother silhouette w my clothing to look like a little clown and vintage silhouettes #rely so often on structured underclothing that the closest analogue to today is: fucking shapewear! unless i go out and get an actual #corset. but those tend to be more expensive. and im not aiming necessarily for the classic corset look i feel like a lot of the ones for #sale offer which seems to be very......booby. but the flatter more smoothing silhouette that was consistent between both menswear #and womenswear. the lengths it takes to be a nonbinary fucking clown. sighs deeply #also thinking again about the stupid fucking gold harley quinn jumpsuit i got like the movie that i Want to like and it Isnt Bad #but the material of the one in the movie is much thicker so its doesnt BEHAVE the same way as fucking form fitting spandex. and i know why #they did spandex. cos like. easier to sell cheaper to make fits a wider range etc. but i just want a fucking piece like that as an Actual #Garment of Clothing not a fucking spandex Halloween costume and couldnt find anything like it for less than $500. which is honestly #probably a reasonable price for labor and materials but not one i can justify? its just frustrating cos its So Close to good but the fuckin #Material just Ruins it for me and not even necessarily cos of like lack of shapewear lumpiness but like the way it drapes on the body the #way it stretches as spandex just looks Wrong. aaaaaaagaghgghghghggh #rage. anger. etc. need to learn how to sew my own shit at least a little. maybe a full length binder like 1 size up for comfort? scary #for context i also struggle with breathing from the lightest amount of Too Much Chest Compression. like sometimes bras will Get Me #so thats the other factor here. i dont know that this is necessarily looking for advice mostly im whining and complaining while doing #Nothing. ugh #also how much of this issue could be avoided if the form fitting spandex stuff had like. a lining. idk
