good fucking goddddddd ep7 is a MOTHERFUCKER of an episode. as funny as it is to think the surface level thought “jayce gets sent to The Nightmare Realm while ekko’s having a dance party in an (almost) Everyone’s Alive AU” it’s profoundly agonizing to think for any longer about it. lest it rip you apart knowing that in reality, jayce has the drive to keep going knowing that the horrible universe he’s in isn’t his own and that being woken up to this possible outcome (to know he needs to stop it) may, in a way, be a godsend. ekko sees a timeline that shows him everything wonderful he could’ve had, that he didn’t even know he could’ve had, shows him a community that’s so much brighter than the measly one he tried so hard to create with the firelights. and he can’t have it. he doesn’t belong there. the probability of jayce’s world manifesting is still in flux, there’s still room for change, and even betterment. the probability of ekko’s world is nonexistent. impossible. a cruel cruel dream he’ll inevitably wake up from, and when he does, he’ll lose everyone all over again
