Hi! Just a thing I wrote in honor of Comment Day. Maybe you might want to read/share it?
Every writer I have never known a writer is always happy to get positive feedback, but some readers believe if they leave kudos or a comment, they’re bothering the writer. Here’s a comparison that might explain why that isn’t the case.
Imagine that the fanfic is a play, and the author has worked really hard on the whole thing: costumes, scenery, the plot, characterization, everything. It’s opening night. The stage manager (AO3) gives the author the headcount (hit number) of the audience (the readers). The writer is now able to imagine 10 or 100 or 1000 people sitting in the audience, watching what they have created. While a big number is fantastic, most writers are thrilled anyone wants to see what they’ve made.
When the play is over, the writer comes out to take a bow.  One hundred people are in the audience.
Two people clap (left a kudos).
Everyone else gets up and walks out in silence.
Obviously, the writer is happy these two people clapped, but they’re also thinking, “Did… did the other 98 people hate it? Were those pity claps? Was it that bad?”
That’s what’s happening on AO3. A fantastic single-chapter fic will get over a thousand hits and wind up with maybe 5 to 10% of those readers leaving kudos. The other 90% could include people re-reading, and numbers get more complicated with multichapter fics since readers can leave kudos only once.
But essentially, a lot of readers see a fic as being more like a movie, where the audience just leaves at the end. It’s even harder for an “older” fic (“older” can sometimes be applied to fics posted only a month ago), where the “play” has been running a while, the author is still there doing everything, but now people decide since it’s not new, there’s no point in showing they liked it.
Maybe one in a hundred readers, sometimes fewer, leaves a written comment. This is like hearing someone in that theater cheering. If it’s a piece of feedback that’s more detailed than a keysmash or an “I like this,” that person is giving the author a standing ovation. And if someone recommends the fic somewhere, maybe saying so in a comment, it’s like getting a rave review on the cover of the New York Times!
All of these are happy things. Kudos, comments of any length, recs, all of them make an author’s day shiny and happy. They’re absolutely fantastic! No writer is bothered by anyone doing these things.
Maybe you’re still thinking, okay, I can see I’m not bothering the writer, but does just writing “I really enjoyed this fic” do anything?
Yes. Because there are the other, less happy responses. Some comments might be demands, making the comment less about thanking the writer and more turning it into a to do list for them. Some authors see their work has been bookmarked only to realize it has a note like “this is awful” or “TLDR” or “started okay but was stupid by the end.” The default for bookmarks is everyone can see them. Finally, anyone who has written fic for any length of time has dealt with flames. These aren’t constructive criticism; they’re flat out abuse, ranging from name calling to highly detailed insults that are the exact reverse of a long, happy comment. Authors look in their email, see someone has commented on their fic, and are thrilled, only to read the comment and be told they are worthless, stupid, untalented. Everyone gets these sometimes, and writers should ignore them, but most of us have sometimes cried over them. Picture that same theater full of silent people, with one or two people clapping, and suddenly someone stands up and starts booing and hurling rotten tomatoes on stage. Readers might not even know it’s happening since writers usually delete those comments. But they still sting.
Kudos and compliments are not annoying anyone. Flames, on the other hand, are awful. The difference is the polite reader who chooses to say nothing out of shyness backs away from doing something that will make the writer happy, while the rude reader actively goes out of their way to make the writer unhappy.
I’ve been in fandom quite a while. Interaction has dropped since the old days, and it’s even dropped off over time at AO3. I’m not sure why, unless it’s that readers regard hits as being like views on TikTok. Since TikTok’s algorithm chooses what will show up more often in people’s feeds based on views, that makes some sense there, but AO3 doesn’t do that. There is no popularity contest writers are winning through views. Unless you tell them, they may think you hated what they wrote and that the flames are the genuine overall reaction.
The moral? If you love something, or even like it, show the writer some appreciation. The second it takes to leave a kudos might make them feel happy the whole day.
Comments and Kudos are probably some of the best gifts to give your favorite artists and storytellers (they’re free and easy too!)

I’LL SAVE YOU ૮ ․ ․ ྀིა | p.sh
pairing: park sunghoon x f! reader
Tumblr media
genre: non idol au! childhood friends to to implied lovers! reunited after a long time type of scenario!
synopsis: when y/n gets unexpectedly saved by one of the country’s national treasures in the most popular live annual dating show
word count: 1.9k words
warnings: none
author’s note: hi hello! this is my first short written on here, please bear with me!! i wrote aus & short stories before but never published them on tumblr, enjoy :)
ps. this is loosely based off of a scene from the thai drama called ready set love. i have been hooked on that show ever since i finished it. who knows maybe i’ll turn this into a fic with multiple chapters, we will see!!
Tumblr media
Y/N sat in the yellow chair, facing the large mirror in front of her.
She glanced at the wooden box hooked onto the mirror, peeking inside to find a pair of earbuds. Y/N grabbed the earbuds and took in a deep breath, unsure of what to say once the “lucky” guy walked in through the other side of the room.
Y/N was at her limit to say the least. She, in just one day, already embarrassed herself in front of one of the men participants, get a call from her aunt saying her younger sister was in the emergency room, and almost lose the last round in the first game.
Out of pure luck, Y/N and other contestants were given a chance to go to the second round. She needed to try her best in order to secure a spot- after all if the guy who chooses her does not save her, she is doomed.
It did not help that this entire game show Y/N was competing in was broadcasted on national television. Everyone, as in everyone in the entire country, was watching the show at the present time.
After the country faced a deadly pandemic in the 1970s, the men population started to decline rapidly. The pandemic seemed to only affect the men population while the women population withheld the illness and later deemed themselves immune.
The amount of men started to become scarce, leaving them to become “national treasures” of the country. With women barely giving birth to a baby boy and the numbers growing worse, men were then placed inside a private area called “The House”.
Men were never allowed to see the world outside “The House” and stay within the walls. With only 200 men remaining in the past 10 years, the government and the elite decided to create the annual game show called Ready Set Love.
Every year, 50 contestants are chosen to woo over the 5 most popular men of the “House”. Through each round, contestants are asked to play games whether it be through a team or alone. After each round, there can be only one winning team and whoever loses will be sent home immediately.
This year was different for the game show; the rules were changed in order to make things more “fair” and for everyone to have a chance to participate.
10 lucky participants who were not of the elite class were given a chance to win a spot on the game show as a contestant. Usually, chosen contestants would be those who were born into a rich family or have a high status within the country. But now, 10 lucky women were able to have the chance to try and also win.
And that’s exactly what happened to Y/N. With her younger sister buying at least 10+ cartons of milk every week at the convenience store, she got lucky and was able to secure her sister the 50th spot as a contestant.
Y/N, to say the least, was hesitant. She thought to just decline the offer and just ignore the results of the lottery. Except, the cash prize was huge. Bigger than she’d ever imagine. And that money can be used to help pay for her sister’s medical bills and expenses.
Now, Y/N is nervously sitting in her chair, waiting for someone to walk in. She bit her nails a little, feeling nervous about the outcome.
All she wanted was just to win, grab the cash prize, and nurse her sister back to health.
Tumblr media
It was at least 20 minutes since Y/N sat in her chair. So far no one showed up, leaving her to walk around in circles in the room, scared.
What if the guy she needed to woo in just 5 minutes will never show up?
“Does Y/N not know there’s multiple rounds of this minigame?” One of the announcers raised her eyebrow, looking at the screen. “Seems like she’ll be chosen in the last round.”
The current mini game consisted of the 5 men picking a random room to walk into. The chosen participant would sit on the other side, waiting to start a conversation with them. The pair has 5 minutes to interact as the contestant needs to woo the man. If the man thinks that the contestant is fit to move into the next round, he will then do a little dance in front of the mirror and say, “I save you.”
“I guess not, but look who’s about to walk in!” said the other announcer, pointing towards the right corner of the room.
Sunghoon opened the door, walking straight into the right side of the room. Closing the door quietly behind him, he walked towards the wooden box and grabbed the pair of earbuds, stretching his arms a little.
He snickered to himself, already over with this mini game, ready to go home.
The first 2 rounds of the mini game was an automatic fail.
The first girl he chose pretended to be someone she was not. He could sense she only wanted to fit his needs and not put herself first in certain situations, and Sunghoon did not like that.
The second girl just giggled uncontrollably and ended up passing out. Sunghoon was confused and just hoped she was okay. She must have been a bit too excited, he thought to himself.
Y/N saw the mystery man take a seat on the other side, bewildered by his sudden entrance. She then took a seat, fixing her hair and her posture. As she settled down on her chair, she realized who was right in front of her.
“Your 5 Minutes start now, good look girls.” The intercom through the room spoke.
As the intercom was turned off and the 5 minutes started, Y/N snapped her fingers and pointed towards the mirror, “Oh, it’s-”
“It's you again?” Sunghoon grunted. He leaned back into his chair, rubbing his chin. “Are you stalking me or something?”
“Hey, you picked this room, okay? Did I ask you to pick this room?” Y/N said in annoyance, fed up with Sunghoon’s question.
Sunghoon reached into the pocket of his jacket and brought out his phone. He put an image on the middle of the mirror and pointed towards it. “Do you know what that is?”
On the mirror, a picture of a figure was placed in the middle. Y/N sighed, “It’s a person.”
Sunghoon then pulled up another image from his phone and asked another question. “About this?”
“It’s also a person.” Y/N replied, unaware of the point Sunghoon was trying to make.
Sunghoon put his phone away, shocked by Y/N’s responses.
“You see that the first image is the symbol for men, the second is for women. You walked into the men’s restroom earlier.”
Y/N gulped. She blinked her eyes rapidly, feeling even more embarrassed than the first time she ran into Sunghoon.
“Where I live we don’t have those signs. I apologize again and I’m not a stalker.”
The silence deafened between the both.
Sunghoon crossed his arms, not batting an eye towards Y/N.
He already knew what to do at the end of the 5 minutes: he was already ready to tell her she would leave and not get through this round.
Y/N was stumped. She already messed up the first time and what more now?
“Sunghoon, listen, I need to win.”
“Okay and? Doesn’t everyone?” Sunghoon replied. He glanced towards the other side of the room, looking at Y/N.
“I need to get into “The House”, it’s the only way I can survive right now.”
“Listen to me,” Sunghoon leaned in a little, shaking his head. “You don’t want that, trust me.”
Sunghoon hated to admit to himself but he envied the women who lived in the outside world. He wanted to know how it felt like to actually be outside and not held in captivity. If only the contestants knew how lonely it was within those metal walls.
Y/N bit her lip, holding back her tears and raised her voice. “You don’t know how privileged you are. You don’t know how life is for me right now. You don’t know.”
Sunghoon stayed silent. He was unsure of what to say. He never saw someone cry in front of him, let alone a girl. A girl pleading for him to help her.
Y/N wiped a tear off her face and looked up to Sunghoon. “I’ll just leave. I already know your answer if that’s the case.”
Removing her pink sash with the number 50 decorated on it, Y/N sniffled a little. She looked at it in despair, setting it down on the chair.
Sunghoon looked at her, in silence. As Y/N removed the sash, a black thread necklace was brought out from beneath her shirt, noticeable.
Taken aback, Sunghoon looked at the necklace that adorned half an emblem on it. He blinked his eyes rapidly, shocked by what he was seeing.
It couldn’t be.
Y/N was the young girl he’s been looking for ever since the government officials found him and captured him. She was the one who saved him for a bit, hiding him in her secret hideout away from the city when they were kids.
She was the girl who might be able to save him from his destined faith.
“Y/N wait,” Sunghoon stood up.
Y/N ignored Sunghoon’s request, removing her airbuds and placing them back into the wooden box.
Sunghoon walked towards the door and ran towards the middle of the game room. He walked straight into Y/N’s side of the room.
Opening the door, Y/N looked at him in confusion.
“Sunghoon-”
“The 5 minutes is now over, please give your answer.” The intercom spoke.
Sunghoon let out a little cough, regretting what he was about to do. He did the little dance, feeling like his life was already crumbling before his eyes. He swore he never was going to give any of these contestants a chance but now Y/N was the lucky one in his eyes.
After Sunghoon finished his little dance, he pointed towards Y/N and gulped. “I save you.”
Y/N looked to him in confusion. She stood there quietly, shocked by Sunghoon’s actions. She thought he was going to let her lose but why? Why did he let her go through to the next round?
“Sunghoon, what is the meaning of this?” Y/N asked.
“Don’t question it. But please Y/N, try and win.” Sunghoon walked closer to Y/N and spoke softly. “You’re my only hope of getting out of here.”
Y/N looked up to Sunghoon as his facial expression became soft and calm. It was as if the person who he was just now, left, vacant in his spot,
The two stood there face to face, basking in each other’s presence. Y/N thought about her own reasons to why she was there. She nodded her head, in response to Sunghoon’s words.
It was only then the intercom would then announce for the contestants to go back to the main room and for the 5 men to go back into their waiting room.
As Y/N parted ways with Sunghoon, she was curious to why he had a sudden change of heart. It made her question if this game show had a deeper meaning to it, deeper than just trying to woo a man and win a date with him each round.

might just start screaming into the void here again like i’m 14! bc i cannot go back to twitter, i never seem to find anything interesting on bluesky and threads is (unsurprisingly) a complete cesspit.
anyway i had a baby four months ago, she is the best and most important thing in the entire world but she also hates to sleep with any kind of regularity so i’m not getting much done because i’m a) sleep-deprived and b) hopping up to check on her every two minutes when she does fall asleep, which isn’t conducive to starting and finishing tasks. also i knew becoming a mum would alter my brain chemistry but WOW i did not anticipate the anxiety that steals up over me every time i lie down in bed at night. like there’s probably not an axe-murderer about to break in through my door and the building probably isn’t about to collapse on our heads and i’m probably not going to get in a horrific accident tomorrow but boy if my body doesn’t react like it definitely all will happen. great way to relax enough to fall asleep, brain. 10/10 no notes.
writing-wise, i’ve ended up in a weird schrondinger’s agent situation where i technically still have one, but also she says she’s got too much responsibility to manage me alone now so i have to sell myself to another person within her agency so they can support with my representation. which in theory is great because i do have an agent still, but in practice sucks because i’ve now sent in three separate story beginnings (of like 10k words each) plus synopses and had them all politely but firmly turned down, so i’ve got to the point where i have lost all confidence in my writing and can’t tell what’s good and what’s not anymore and am starting that “what’s even the point” spiral.
on the other hand i think i have a really good ya fantasy idea based on an old concept revolving around evil dragonriders, poison and a revenge-bent 17 year old so i think i might just write that and to hell with it?? but also i wrote the first chapter and i think it sucks. so who knows.
i’m really hoping to get back to fic as well once i can carve out some time in the day around baby (she’s started going to bed at 7ish the last few days so that might be good, although she’s up every hour or so from 1am so usually i just have to go to bed pretty directly after she does). i’m going to start by going back to my lucius/hermione fic i think. i was having fun with that one and i made a pinterest board for the horrible pureblood girls i want her to tangle with so i’m feeling ✨inspired✨

lostdrarryfics monthly roundup Aug + Sept: Part 2
Tumblr media
Please let us know if you recognize any of these fics!
1. This was a non magical fic in which Draco is a cop/detective and Harry is the rich owner/ceo of a group of companies- I don't quite remember. They meet when Draco is investigating a break in in Harry's building and tries to ask him some questions. Harry is intrigued and answers them which shocks everyone since he's not known for being kind? The break in ends up being one of the cleaning staff I think. i think it was a bonus chapter au on a multi chaptered fic
2. I've been trying to find a fic I've read years ago, it was definitely not on ao3. Kind of silly, not long. Fic from Draco's POV, but not in first person. At Hogwarts. The main/only "plot" was Draco's obsession with Harry's cock. I keep thinking that the title itself was just "Obsession" but it's too generic for google. I remember Pansy (?) gifting Draco a dildo (after they broke up maybe?); some sort of a party where Draco got drunk and maybe made a fool of himself in front of people/Harry (tried to blow him?); and that at the end Draco was stuck? locked? in the locker room/showers after quidditch and Harry finds him. I think Harry laughs/refuses to help him at first. I vaguely remember Draco getting his wish and finally blowing Harry.
3. I’ve read a fic around 10 years ago but I only vaguely remember a few details. Not on ao3, set after the war. Harry meets Malfoy in a pub or restaurant to give Malfoy his wand back, for some reason after he does it causes Harry to get aroused. It might’ve been a magical effect from the wands. He goes to the toilet, locks himself in a stall and starts to jerk off. Malfoy follows him and barges into the stall. I remember a few details of how it was described: Malfoy leans against the opposite wall of the stall, watching Harry, I think maybe he also starts to jerk off? Harry, without thinking about it, does what he usually does at home and uses one hand to touch his balls. Malfoy pushes off of the wall and gets up close to Harry. I’m pretty sure they both jerk off but not sure if they touch each other. I can’t remember other scenes, so it might be impossible to find. I seem to remember that Harry was in a relationship with Ginny and a scene where Harry and Draco have sex in an alley or a somewhat secluded public space, Harry is pissed off and in denial after, but I might be mixing up that scene from another lost fic…
4. Can't remember if it was AO3 or FF. Snape rescues Draco from the Manor after Lucius beats him badly. Snape takes Draco to Harry's place on Privet Drive. Draco witnesses Vernon beat Harry and almost kill him. Snape rescues them and takes them to a safe house where Harry recovers. The boys start out hating each other, then start going clubbing, and eventually get together. Once they get to Hogwarts, Draco is given his own rooms for protection and Dumbledore gets mad that Harry is sleeping with Draco. Ron, and for a little bit Hermione, start bullying Harry. Ron hits Hermione when she stands up for Harry and Draco so Ginny takes her to Draco/Harry. May have been rated M and may have been read around 2016.
5. Veela!Draco. I read it around 2008-2011. I believe it took place during Hogwarts years before 7th year, but I’m not certain. It was long, many chapters. It was explicit and there was a sex scene in a shower, probably a first-time scene. I don’t know what website it was on, but possibly AO3. My biggest piece of info is that I THINK “House” was in the title, as in “House of _____” . I have searched for this for years
6. definitely happens when they are older and at least Harry is already a parent of multiple kids. He is not coping well with being a parent/ it is really chaotic at home and i think he was maybe left recently which is why he is very overwhelmed. But Draco starts to help him at home. And i only really remember this specific scene, where Draco gets really insecure about his body and wants to start a buttermilk diet, where he only drinks buttermilk.
7. Drarry fic that I read a long time ago but I can’t find traces of it anywhere. I can’t remember if it was on FFnet or Livejournal but it was definitely not AO3. Harry was studying in the library with a bunch of other people (something about Babayagas if I remember correctly) and someone had mistakenly cast him an exhibitionism spell in which he basically gets his ass fucked by something invisible right in the middle of the library. Harry thought it was Draco playing a prank on him so he confronted him, which lead into them doing the do in another part of the castle (it may have been the astronomy tower but I could be wrong). Later on it was revealed that it was Blaise who casted the spell, thinking the spell was cast on his girlfriend instead of Harry.
8. I remember very little about the fic itself - I think it was set at hogwarts, and I know Draco was sketching Harry in a sketchbook. The thing I really remember about it was in the notes at the top of the fic, the author linked to a dance routine where one character was drawing and another came up to them and they had this very intense dance together and they kissed at the end.

Shibuya Swap Wednesday #6—once again, we'll be here a while! More than usual, since I'll be splitting my focus between this fic and the April anniversary stories this month.
This fic is now 56k and 10 chapters. Part 2 became longer than expected (shocking and unusual, I know) because I keep having to pause the porn for plausibility. Turns out plucking Yuuji from the middle of his Gojou-rescue mission to put him in the middle of a Gojou-fucking mission won't work out without some proper reassurance.
Tumblr media
"Is this really alright?”
Satoru tilts his head to the side. “Why wouldn’t it be? Don’t tell me you’re saving yourself for someone.”
“No,” Yuuji sighs, using his newly freed hand to rub his forehead, briefly covering his eyes. It’s not as soothing as he hoped. “It’s Gojou-sensei. I know you said the other me will help him, but…how are you sure?”
“I’m not,” Satoru says simply, shrugging when Yuuji glares up at him. “But if you’re here, he must be there in your world. Jujutsu is all about balance. Cursed energy craves it, demands it. It’s not just a reasonable assumption, it’s the only one that fits. And as long as Yuuji’s there, no one is touching your precious sensei. Well, Yuuji might touch him.” Satoru’s expression darkens suddenly, but it returns to normal—if anything about those bright eyes and mean mouth can be called normal—just as fast. “But that’s fine! I get to pop your cherry. Balance in all things. Or maybe I’m the winning party here…”
“Please stop talking,” Yuuji says dazedly, drowning in a fresh flood of filthy images.
“Sure,” comes the suspiciously easy agreement. “If you give me something better to do with my mouth.”
“Satoru-san!”
“You’re really cute.” Satoru leans down, startling Yuuji with a quicksilver kiss that makes his whole body thrum. “Think of it this way—there’s nothing you can do. This isn’t a technique or curse. None of us did this. Strange shit happens when cursed energy is involved, but not all of it needs sorcerer intervention. We’ll give it a day or two, and if you’re still here, I’ll brave the higher-ups for you.”
“Oh.” Yuuji didn’t think of that. How he got here still makes no sense to him, but he’s used to that; he’s not used to Gojou also not knowing the answers. “Is that safe? The execution, isn’t it—”
“There will be no execution.”
Yuuji’s mouth clicks shut, the words withering in his throat at that tone. He didn’t think about that either—his counterpart here being alive, clearly an adult but very much alive.
My Yuuji ate him up ages ago, Satoru said. Yuuji didn’t think about that. He doesn’t want to think about that.
“They won’t be happy, and I’d rather avoid involving them,” Satoru says, and Yuuji focuses on him, thankful for the distraction. “But if it comes to that, I’ll protect you, Yuuji!”
“Thanks.” And Yuuji means it, but— “You look way too happy about that though.”
“I’ve never had to protect Yuuji before,” Satoru tells him, still weirdly cheerful. “It’ll be fun! Anyway, are you done worrying?”
“I guess so. As long as Gojou-sensei will be okay, I don’t really care what happens to me.”
Satoru goes strangely still, even his eyes seeming to freeze. “Huh.”
“What?” Yuuji asks warily.
“You really are Yuuji.”
“Of course I am. You know that.”
“You keep proving it.” Satoru shakes his head and straightens up, smiling a really weird smile. Yuuji’s focus is torn between that and the shifting pressure on the quickly congealing mess in his pants.
“Satoru-san, get off—”
He does, almost before Yuuji’s finished speaking, but only to settle between Yuuji’s legs instead, spreading his thighs wider and—
Yuuji shivers as he’s unzipped and exposed, his messy dick extracted by nimble fingers.
“You did make such a mess.” Satoru licks his lips. “Don’t worry, I’ll clean you up.”
Yuuji’s inexperienced, not an idiot; he knows what’s coming. The wet pink of Satoru’s tongue still catches him off guard.
“Satoru-san,” he gasps, jolting at the teasing lick to the tip of his cock. “That’s so—”
—dirty, he wants to say, and it is, it’s absolutely filthy, the way Satoru’s tongue flattens itself along Yuuji’s cock, covering nearly half of its limp length, but the word gets stuck in his throat with the rest of his breath, and then Satoru’s lapping in earnest, cleaning Yuuji up with sloppy strokes of his tongue. Each one is a lash of heat, bolting from Yuuji’s dick to his spine. Almost too much with how sensitive he is but too good to pull away from, especially when he can see how pretty Satoru’s mouth looks licking him clean. His lips are wet and plump, their pink brighter somehow, and his tongue is obscene, running along the length of Yuuji’s dick, gathering the mess there to swallow it all. It prods at the foreskin, playing with it before lapping at the mess under it.
All of it makes Yuuji’s guts squirm and spine writhe. He has to flatten himself to the mattress to keep himself still; if he starts moving, he won’t stop, and he doesn’t know what he’ll do then. He doesn’t even know what he wants to do. Satoru’s dirty mouth is spilling filth into his flesh, and it’s not the kind of corruption Yuuji’s used to.
Shadowed blue eyes flicker up, as if Satoru’s heard Yuuji’s thoughts, and Yuuji’s lost the second he meets them, unable to look away as Satoru licks him wet and sloppy from root to tip and pulls back a few inches, Yuuji’s still-soft cock now nestled on his palm. Satoru breaks eye contact to stare down at it, a corner of his mouth lifting. It’s not a nice expression, but it’s fond. Yuuji doesn’t know what to do with that. He just can’t look away.
His breath freezes in his lungs as Satoru lowers his head again, guiding Yuuji’s cock into his mouth. It’s an easy fit, the circle of Satoru’s lips meeting the unruly hair at Yuuji’s groin. A rough exhale heats the skin there. Satoru hums softly, and the sound claws at Yuuji’s dick.
“Shit,” Yuuji groans, shuddering all over, and he can’t help reaching out, fisting a hand in Satoru’s hair. It feels like crushing silk. “Satoru-san, that feels…”
Satoru’s eyes dart to Yuuji’s face again and stay there, as motionless as his mouth. It’s the wrong kind of distraction, somehow making Yuuji more aware of how the entire length of his cock is cradled on Satoru’s tongue. It’s hot, the slick muscle under his cock and the damp air all around it. There’s spit pooling in Satoru’s mouth, making another kind of mess on Yuuji’s cock.
The heat in his body has sweetened, losing the too-sharp bite of oversensitivity. If Satoru keeps it up, Yuuji will—
Satoru hums again, and this time, he sucks too, cheeks hollowing and tongue flexing.
Yuuji’s back shudders into a painful arch, his hips shoving up into Satoru’s mouth. There’s no room for it, nothing for him to take. Satoru’s mouth is already flush with his groin, every centimeter of Yuuji’s cock sealed in his mouth. It still feels like something, how he’s holding Satoru’s mouth there and straining to crawl deeper into him. When Yuuji looks down, Satoru’s eyes are fully closed and his features are slack; he looks so content.
“Satoru-san,” Yuuji chokes out.
Another hum, another second of suction.
Yuuji’s thighs flinch closer to Satoru’s head, but before they can trap it there, he rises, letting Yuuji’s cock slide out of his mouth inch by agonizing inch. His tongue’s busy the whole time, moving against the underside and finally swirling around the head, as wet as the spit gleaming on Yuuji’s cock.
“There,” Satoru murmurs, a hoarse edge to his voice. “All clean.”
Yuuji just whines.
Satoru seems to like that, his expression growing smug. He straightens up, rolling his neck and shoulders, and Yuuji knows the movements are exaggerated, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t admire the way those muscles move under all that pretty skin.
“If that’s the last of your…concerns,” Satoru drawls, “shall we continue?”
A thread of exasperation cuts through helpless admiration. “Are you actually asking?”
“No,” Satoru admits cheerfully. “Get up.”
Yuuji sighs and pushes himself into a sitting position. Satoru’s kneeling now, no longer sitting on his own calves. Like this, he towers over Yuuji, whose face is level with Satoru’s chest. Yuuji tries not to stop breathing. After everything that just happened, he really shouldn’t be flustered by all that naked skin being within mouth’s reach.
He tentatively raises his hands to Satoru’s hips, earning himself an approving him.
“Keep going,” Satoru demands.
Yuuji blinks up at him. “Where?”
Satoru rolls his eyes. “What kind of a teenager are you?”
“I’m sorry,” Yuuji says drily. “It’s not like I watch porn with caged-up dicks in it.”
“A very serious gap in your education, clearly.” Satoru nods to himself. “I’ll fix that.”
Yuuji buries his face in Satoru’s chest. It fails to muffle his laughter much, but it feels good, pressing his face into that welcoming flesh. Satoru’s pecs are prettily defined, but the skin layering them is soft and yielding. Yuuji rubs his face against it, turning his head to feel it on his cheek. The nipple poking him is new and a little weird, but not in a bad way.
A heavy hand lands in his hair, ruffling it roughly. “Focus, you pervert.”
“You’re the pervert,” Yuuji mutters, but he looks up, digging his chin into Satoru’s chest. “I still don’t know what you want me to do.”
Satoru’s expression twists into incredulity. “Are you for real right now? My ass, Yuuji. Touch my fucking ass so you can fucking fuck me.”
“Oh…” Yuuji’s brain sputters, blinking out of existence for a moment. When it comes back, his whole body’s burning. “I can do that? I can do that.”
Satoru snorts. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”

Heyy Nerdie <3
So since I'm relatively new with writing, I wonder how other writers manage their docs, like what tool is good for writing stories with multiple chapters. And I know everybody will have a different answer and solution for their writing process but I was just wondering if you had any tips for a newbie like me (I'm writing in my notes but that doesn't works so great, also no word count etc.)
Thank you in advance!
I appreciate you ❤️
Tumblr media
Ooh! I'm excited1 A writing question! I feel honored that you're asking me. Full disclosure: I'm not the most organized person, even with my fanfic. I am trying to improve though.
I have found for all my fics, no matter if they're one shots or chapter series, I write them in Google Drive. The only reason I don't use Word or my notes app is because I find it easier to edit on my phone when I'm out and about having ideas randomly. (Always happens in places that aren't great to write in which is why I try and stay ready. Only works 50% of the time because of driving. 😭) I also tend to keep each fic even with all their chapters or parts in one very long document instead of a separate document for each chapter. That's just so I will be less confused. I get confused easily. 😳
Many writers use Google Drive so if you're brave enough to ask, you can usually send them what you have to review and they can either just look or comment on different parts depending on permissions you give them. To give your fic a good once over, you can pop it into Word for grammar and spelling corrections. Google docs does do that as well, but sometimes it misses things that Word catches. It's weird.
For on the go notes about vibes or random ideas, I feel your notes app should be good for that and also outlines if you want to plan out chapters or your one shot before writing it out. That way if you have it on your phone in your notes app, you can type in Word or Google while looking back at your bullet points to keep the story flow going.
Also if you like music, I highly recommend a writing playlist. It can be just your favorite songs, set to the mood of what you're writing, instrumental, anything that will help you focus and get your story out. it also could help inspire things (there's numerous fanfics written from songs - hundreds).
Maybe yourself a comfy space, enjoy a nice beverage (I like tea, hot chocolate or coffee if it's in the morning and a snack while writing) and remember it's supposed to be fun.
Sure frustrating sometimes especially when it seems like you have no ideas or the idea isn't coming out quite like you wanted. Take a break, might be hours, days or months, however long you feel you may need for it not to see like a chore. Writing, drawing and crating in general should be fun - in can require focus and work, but should still be enjoyable.
Try out some prompts, challenges or toss some ideas out to friends or people if you feel your creativity is lacking to you just want some different perspectives. We're all different, have histories that make us who we are so there can be as many ways to write a fic as starts in the sky. No one has thought of all of them, many reuse tropes (myself included) because they're fun and provide a template to work from and all sorts of themes can be explored. If you like to edit graphics and/or create moodboards, that can be a good way to distract yourself from writing while also focusing on a different aspect of your fic - visuals. It could help spark something too.
I truly hope I answered your question and didn't ramble too hard. Like this is... 8/10 rambling. 😆

oc asks: 1, 10, 15, 20 for whoever you like!
Thank you so much for submitting asks from this post! I appreciate everyone who asks about my OCs especially when I need to gear up to write another chapter for my fic. I occasionally have spurts of where I only can think of images so writing is more difficult than usual (and when you will see me posting more art) so OC asks help me warm up to write!
Since you gave me some freedom to pick who is for who. I did 1 + 10 for Ghoul and 15+ 20 for Erik!
Tumblr media
What kind of person is your OC in a crisis? Are they calm and collected? Do they panic? Or are they chronically the cause?
Ghoul is very much panicking on the inside calm and collected on the outside. She will see it through one way or another but the entire time she is internally screaming whether from anxiety or rage that the situation she is in. Ghoul does cause a handful of her crises but she is plagued of being thrown into things unwillingly.
Is your OC sentimental or pragmatic? Do they keep mementos or only what they need to survive? Have they always been this way or did something happen to make them change?
Ghoul is currently pragmatic however with how things have been going in Voracious Oblivion I feel like it might be changing. She lost who she was and she has been slowly replenishing her well of memories. So, I think this round she might be more inclined to cherish the small moments and vivid sensations she experiences. No collecting things yet but we will see.
Tumblr media
What places hold significant meaning or memories for your OC? Do they have a positive or negative association with those places?
Rift stones are normally places he will subconsciously rest at and camps near lazy rivers. He thinks fondly of the first time Erik stepped out of the rift stone to gaze at his puny, confused Arisen. She had a look in her eyes that was defensive even if her face was in shock. He knew once he looked into those golden eyes, she was going to be a marvelous warrior to fight alongside. Lazy rivers remind him of the good times from the previous cycle. There were a lot of cozy intimate moments that he associates with lazy rivers.
Has your OC ever done something terrible and lied about it? Did they run away or blame someone else for it? How long did they maintain the lie and did the truth ever come out?
He is nervous currently about this. Erik knows a great deal more about their situation than he leads on with Ghoul. Erik is always on the fence on how to tell her or when. Or even if he should if all he knows is the one outcome he refuses to relive. When the sandal drops and all is revealed I think he cares too much to run from the blame. If she will need to take out the frustrations she feels out on him he will be ready. He just hopes she will forgive him for protecting her from the horrid knowledge in the end.

hi!!
thank you so much for everything that you’ve contributed to this fandom, seriously, your time has been invaluable. people treat fanfic authors like a writing machine, but no, this is just your hobby!!
i was wanting to ask about your writing process:
1. when writing, do you usually write most/all of your fic before starting to post it?
2. how much do you outline before starting to write?
3. how do you keep up with what seems to be a semi regular posting schedule (as in like, staying committed to a fic and actually completing it lol)
sorry if you’ve already answered any of these before :)
hey hey heyo!!! this is so sweet!!
it honestly depends! with ahb!, i had a very good direction and plan on where i was taking the fic so i knew each chapter before i sat down to write it! but winterlude was more free-form. i was like, i want these 15 things to happen over 4 chapters lets make it work! and then with the dinner fic, that's one that i am writing out in its entirety before i post it. because there's a lot of details and web-weaving that go into it, and if i drop a thread somewhere it'll make the whole tory unravel, so it has to be complete before anyone else sees it. so it really depends on the vibe/intricacy of the fic!!
most of the time i'll try to outline a solid timeline with beginning and then major points to the end in chronological order. (so with art heist imagine like: 1. james introduction. 2. job interview/acquisition 3. assembling the heist team 4. meeting the team 5. new hampshire training 6. practice heist 7. heist 8. art swaps (berlin/amsterdam/portofino/copenhagen) 9. regulus death 10. grieving 11. healing 12. ending) <- and then i would go in and fill in things like,,, how does a jegulus relationship develop amidst all of this? and then you get sub-plot points like the museum date, the drowning degas, the auction house date, etc. until you get a pretty good fleshed-out idea! and then as i write and have even more ideas, i can plop them down somewhere on the timeline (amsterdam coffeeshop meeting/last supper group dinner/ etc) . and before writing each chapter,,, i sort of break chapters down into mini-stories with their own beginnings, middle, ends. just to make sure something is happening in each chapter, and it has structure.
this is putting so much faith in me hahah!! my posting schedule ranges from twice in one week to once in 4-6 months. and sometimes i just delete works if im not feeling them anymore ah! but!! i will say, the biggest way i stay committed to completing a story is having an ending in mind that i'm excited to execute or get to!! like something on the horizon at the end of the story normally motivates me to write enough to get to that point. but it's also just okay to stop writing a certain story if you're feeling uninspired!! sometimes, when i'm feeling burnt-out with one story and i'm not motivated to finish it, i'll just leave it alone and go work on something i'm actually interested in for a while until i feel the interest spark up again!! (hence...months between uploads sometimes) 😋

Fanfic Writer Questions
@askweisswolf tagged me, thank youuuuu for thinking of me ♡
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Huh, 12 apparently? A lot of them are shorts and gifts, though.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
66,495???? When did THAT happen (I have never opened the statistics tab before can you tell)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly and forever Fallen Hero my beloved, but I have one (1) foray into Baldur's Gate 3.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Hmmm, my "main" fics really: 1. Splinters (Fallen Hero, Una and Ortega's relationship's turning points) 2. Dialogue Box (Fallen Hero, people having conversations) 3. Hopefully, No Biting (I can't believe this is in the top three JKLHGLKHGLH. Probably the oral sex helped.) 4. Hauntings (Fallen Hero, little mindfucks and experimental chapters) 5. The Heist, a three-part gift about Hollow Ground and @kittlesandbugs Sidestep, Riley. This one was a passion project, very happy to find it (surprisingly) in the top 5.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Usually, yes, if I can't reply directly to the commenter on another platform! If people are lovely enough to take the time to write, you know... Right back at them.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
No endings to my fics, really, but the angstiest as a rule is Hauntings.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
No endings to my fics, really, but I think my happiest / sweetest / peacefullest might be one of my recent ones--Shipname: Burnt to the Ground (it's sex, but not sad babygirl sex, you get me?)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No.......... But if you want to go and hate on Hollow Ground when they appear in my fic please be my guest lads I'm right there with you.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Not sure my sex scenes count as smut considering I'm firmly rooted in the suggestive rather than explicit territory. I write metaphors for fucking, more like.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Not really! I'm such a one-trick pony man, all my money's on Los Diablos.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Hmmm.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I have not! I do like to fuck around with language and I have translated part of my fics once or twice and then back again just to throw a punch into the English and its pacing though. And I used to translate fics out loud for my friends who couldn't read English when I was, like, a teen.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Started to, didn't finish, but the idea's there somewhere—co-writing with @astarien is the heights of existence obviously.
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
... Chargestep. I guess. I guess they're alright. Whatever.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
If I want to finish a work I do—but there's nothing I'm gunning to end yet, except for shorts, which I finish in one-go.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hm, I don't really know... I enjoy dialogue, action scenes, and fucking up pace, musicality, analogy, words and format so that language says more than it usually does, or shows more than it usually does—goes further than it wants to go if you don't give it a shake—and makes you FEEL. That's what's in my brain when I write.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Fucking... plot. Logical pathways. Lore. I do not have a brain.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Love it! I gesture at it but keep it in English when I don't know the language (too scared of fucking it up, and not enough control over tone / nuances / connotations), but if I do know the language then absolutely.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
In my little notebooks when I was 8? A French Child Fantasy book I loved. But the only fandom I've written seriously for is FHR.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
My darling, though not my easiest, is Splinters. The hard-hitting writing moments are compiled there, I usually break out of a chapter a little brain-weird and all rabbit-hearted, it's always a blast to get to work on it.
Annnnd I'll tag @astarien, @kittlesandbugs, @ejunkiet, @impossible-rat-babies, @rab-bitly, @witchfall, @silvery-bluish, @ladyshivs, and anyone who feels like it!

OKAY OKAY HI :DDD for the director's cut ask thingy
The Long Way Home, because it's my longest fic yet, and while I'd already like to edit some of it it has a very special place in my heart <3
I give you: the mess that is Marcia/Cerys/Milo.
Except today, Madam Marcia had shown up, and had argued with Cerys. That part wasn’t unusual, but this time she’d at least half-way won the argument: His mother had stood back with crossed arms while Marcia had explained to Septimus that Cerys wasn’t his mother, and neither was Milo his father. (chapter 2)
When Madam Marcia had arrived to warn them about the Hunter, Cerys had tried to take her into the Sitting Room in which they usually shouted at each other. Marcia had refused, and had also stopped Cerys from sending Septimus out of the room. “No,” she’d said. “This concerns him, too.” “Does it, now,” Cerys had asked, clearly irritated (...) “Was she telling the truth?” he’d asked. “Am I the seventh son of a seventh son?” His mother had pursed her lips and nodded. “If anyone would know, it’s Marcia Overstrand. She brought you to us, fourteen years ago.” “So the man she mentioned…” “Silas Heap.” Cerys had paused briefly at the top of one stairwell and taken a deep breath. “Yes. That would be your father.” (chapter 3)
Behind him, the great double doors opened again. Out stepped Marcia Overstrand, closely followed by Queen Cerys. They were arguing, as usual, but there was no bite behind it. Jenna was starting to suspect that this was what they did for fun. (chapter 7)
and finally:
She’d asked Septimus about it - he had lived with Cerys after all, and hadn’t just watched her from various corners - but he’d nodded. “I don’t know if it’s just because you’re back," he’d said, and smiled apologetically. “I think it helped, but it’s not quite why. Something happened while she and Milo were staying with Marcia.” “Ah.” Jenna had thought for a moment. “You mean that they’re all dating now?”
I really, really want to write tha fic where those three idiots (affectionate) are stuck in the Wizard tower together. They had a lot to talk about.
Cerys may have labored under the assumption that (first) Milo and Marcia cheated on her with each other (which is SO unfair because she wouldn't have minded if they'd just INCLUDED HER) or (once Marcia told them that his name was Septimus, and once it became clear that "Tim" was the whitest boy who'd ever existed) that Marcia had CHEATED ON BOTH OF THEM (<- girl who was not actively dating Marcia) with SILAS HEAP and then left them with the baby.
In her defense: Cerys had a rather bad 14 years, and a really bad day leading into it. She gets better once the three of them manage to talk for more than 10 minutes without one of them storming out.

saw this ask game and decided to answer all so you guys can get to know me better
1. Do you prefer writing one-shots or multi-chaptered fics?
it depends. I usually have my multi-chapterdd fics already done before posting them, so in my head they are stored as one shots. I know, weird. anyway...
I think oneshots are easier for me bc it's all fix and I don't get the urge to want to go back and change things. but I'm trying out the chaptered way with Timeloop and I can fix him (no really I can) and we'll see how I like it... but I'm only doing it like that bc idk how long they'll be and I wanted to post something and not wait months for them to be done before I post it all.
so maybe one-shots when it comes to [tumblr]
2. Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go?
I usually write as I go. I have a few points that I have to get to but I let it flow, let the characters choose their path to make it feel more natural when things go down.
3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic
I usually have something in my head that needs to happen and then I sit down when I feel like I'll be able to write it and just try.
I don't always look for playlists but sometimes it helps to listen to my sex playlist for smut or my falling in love playlist for slowburns or something.
I mostly just let inspiration hit me ig, idk how to explain it 😭
4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?
songs, tv shows, movies, other written work (books or stuff I read on here) my dreams... anything really. a lot of times it's just daydreaming.
5. Do you like constructive criticism?
yes, I love it, I get way too little of it.
as long as you are being respectful please tell me off lol, especially when it comes to grammar and sentence structures bc I'm not native in English and I'll be happy to learn and change things when you tell ne that something is wrong.
6. Do you have your work beta'd? How important is this to your process?
I tried beta-ing one of my fics with my friends, but life gets in the way and they didn't have much time to read and give me feedback, so I decided to not do it for whole fics anymore and just sporadically
7. How do you choose which POV to write from?
ig that fully depends on how the scene feels to me. I once got halfway in a chapter and had to rewrite the whole thing bc I realized it didn't make much sense to tell it from that pov and not the other. and now it feels so much more natural than before. but that is just as much trial and error at times as everything else.
8. Do you prefer the beginning, middle, or end of a story?
i don't really have a preference there. for some fics I can very clearly see the middle, but not the end or beginning, for others I see the start and end but not the in between and it gets a bit messy on the way. but all in all I'd say I'm just happy to be allowed to be there as these stories play in my head and that I get to write them down is even better.
9. Do you comment on stories you read?
yes, usually on ao3 on tumblr if I like it enough I'll reblog it, if I love it I reblog with comments or tags, that depends on my daily mood tho.
10. Cltr+f "blinks" on your WIP & copy paste the first sentence/paragraph that comes up
“What?” I cleared my throat and blinked a few times to get my mind cleared up.
aaaaah I love the scene this is from, also had to used blinked cause I usually write in past tense unless it's tumblr...
11. Link your three favorite fics right now
Safety Net by @mvybanks
The Blue by @quin-ns
Watch and Learn by @nadvs
12. how does receiving or not receiving feedback/support impact you?
a good feedback makes my day, literally
not getting any or getting barely any likes and no reblogs on my work, especially when it's something I've worked hard on, it's devastating really. I wish there was more appreciation for it, but I can't do much about it either.
13. what’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?
writer's block isn't really an issue to me anymore. when I have time to write but my mind blocks I'll just start writing anything and when it's shit I put it to the side and write something else or if I'm working on a chapter and it won't flow I go into a new document and try and write the chapter again from scratch and see how it goes. always in a new doc tho when I do that so I don't use anything I've written.
14. how do you write emotional scenes? Do you ever feel what the characters feel? Do you draw from personal experiences?
okay, I write them, especially sad ones, when I myself am already sad af so I can exactly describe the bodily bs that happens to me when I'm sad
I do feel how they feel, especially when I later go to edit it, and then I have to take a break bc I'll start crying again lol
I mostly draw from personal experience when it gets to emotions, especially sad ones, bc it's just easier ig. it's waaay easier for me to write angst and hurt/comfort than anything else bc most of my life has been filled with those rather than fluff or even smut (idk how I write that, bc there's no experience there...)
15. How do you write smut scenes? Do you get very visual or detailed? How important is it to be realistic?
I try my best to keep it visually accurate, like, so you can try and imagine it bc I hate when I read something and go "wait, how did they end up here?" yk? and I think it should have some sort of realism to it. but I can't really be 100% accurate bc I only know my own body and whatever I've seen online. I don't trust porn obvs bc it's not really reliable when it comes to normal sizes and shit (iykwim) but it does help with figuring out some of the positions. that's literally the only reason I look at it too, for research purposes 💀
16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
2 that are being posted (timeloop and icfhnric)
15 that are just ideas (listen, my head never stands still)
1 that is like my heart child, and I'm scared to let it go but I will eventually
17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)
a complete lack of inspiration hasn't really happened to me yet, and I'm scared of the day it will. what I do have issues with is the type of writers block where I wanna write but my head feels too overwhelmed or too tired to process any thoughts so I'll see the fic in my head but my brain won't let me form sentences to put it on the screen. I've yet to figure out how to deal with that.
18. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
song inspired ones are always named after the song, so that's easy
anything else is either a good line that I discovered while writing or a quick quip that I came up with, most times during the end of it.
I still don't have proper titles for my Lovebirds fic, I have one for the second installment of it, but the other three are still only under their working title and I don't know if I'll even give the first one a title or if it'll just be "Before Lovebirds" which is bs and I hate it but idk what else to name it... (although that part has been done for months now)
19. What is the most-used tag on your ao3?
smut... lol I haven't used any funny tags yet
20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
I use "just" way too much. and I keep starting sentences with And a lot. and I feel like once I find a bew word I'll keep using it until my brain grows bored of it.
21. Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?
definitely, if they wanted to.
22. Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)
I don't think I'm a dark romance girlie. I'm never gonna write mlm smut, because I just don't think it's my place to do that.
23. Best writing advice for other writers?
use placeholders for words you can't pinpoint, I usually go like this [walking slowly, dragging feet] and then I look up a synonym
when you get an idea, put it down, you'll think you're gonna remember later but you won't
24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?
to put chapter contents down in a pointed list instead of writing it out immediately
25. What fic do you wish you got more of a response on?
the It's... complicated one bc I worked hard on it and it's probably my best work yet imo
26. Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?
my three part series the one with the abortion, notes and letter
27. What is your most and least favorite part of writing?
most favorite: describing angsty feelings
least: chit-chat bc I'm bad at it irl and idk how to write it to seem natural 😭
28. On average, how much writing do you get done in a day?
idk, some days I write so much and others I don't at all, so maybe 500-800 days on average daily
29. What’s your revision or editing process like?
first I do grammar checks, then I reread and see if the words are correct. most times I do the big parts of editing while writing bc I noticed that that's easier for me
30. Do you share rough drafts or do you wait until it’s all polished?
I usually wait until it's polished, unless it's something I would have deleted from a bigger fic and don't want it to go to waste.
31. Do you start with the characters or the plot when writing?
plot, always.
32. Name three of your favorite fanfic writers.
from the top of my head: @princessmaybank @redhead1180 @mvybanks
33. Do you want to be published some day?
yes. but not my fanfic. I'd rather write something by myself and then get it published than go and write fanfic and change it later on to be able to publish it.
34. Five years from now, where do you see yourself as a writer?
finishing my first novel and maybe finding a publisher for it
35. What is one essential thing to remember when writing a villain?
that they don't need to be redeemable, I'd much rather keep some villains for true evil and not because they had a bad childhood or whatever
36. How do you write kissing scenes?
I try to write about how it affects the person who's pov it is, their emotions and physical sensations. I don't like dragging it out too much tho unless it's a big moment, like a first kiss.
37. How do you choose where to end a chapter?
I tend to do cliffhangers quite a lot bc I'm just prone to that bc of my love of television. but usually I end on a moment that feels like a natural stop while writing or sometimes I write without chapters in mind and when I add them later I make stops in between where it feels like the reading flow could stop and be picked up, but then I make sure that the chapters aren't too short or too long still
38. Would you ever write commissions?
oh definitely, I already take prompts and idk if it counts but I did write two private commissions for a friend in return for some art of my favorite character a scribble of my oc
39. Share a snippet from a WIP
“I don't want you to feel any pressure to do anything,” he brushed a few hair from my face and I nodded. “You're my dream girl, [redacted].” He pulled me closer into him, nuzzling his head into my neck and breathing lower. “My pretty girl.” I placed a kiss on his head and listened to his shallow breaths as I fell asleep. “Love you too,” I whispered while drifting off and hoping that he hadn't actually heard me.
40. If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
I have a very specific scene in my head, but it not in the fic, it's only mentioned as a picture that they took and have set as their background picture. so to see that come to life would be incredible.
but I don't really have a preference other than that, when I write I see it all play out in my head like a movie scene so literally any moment can work as long as I described it well enough. and if needed I would go and give a lengthy description of every single detail if someone wabted me to
41. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person?
I reread a lot! it's part of how I try and get better at my work (apart from reading published books)
I especially reread a lot of my lovebirds fic so I can get back into writing when I haven't had worked on it in a while
42. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?
The Charter by @blueicequeen19 and I'd tell the whole world to read it because it's just that good
43. Do you take a sadistic joy in whumping your characters, or are you more the "If you hurt them I would kill everyone and then myself" kind of person?
I whump too much tbh. like, especially my OC has had so much pain already in her life, but I feel like a few set backs are normal and it wouldn't feel natural to me if everything was just happy and perfect akl the time. to me these characters are people and people are messy by default.
I'm still very protective of them tho, and I wouldn't let any body go and fuck them other unless it has a purpose of some kind, either for the bad guy or them.
44. What mistakes do you keep making no matter how many times your beta corrects you?
I keep writing my when I mean me and vice versa, that's just a typing issue tho. I forgot prepositions and "the"s a lot. idk how to do comma shit. and I keep catching myself writing bearly instead of barely. bc they sound the same and I'm also dyslexic 😔
45. Do you want to break your readers‘ heart or make them laugh?
both if I can. but a part of me wants to know that I'm capable of making someone cry their eyes out. that feels pretty powerful to me bc I don't really cry too much when I read or watch something myself.
46. How would you describe your style? (Character/emotion/action-driven, etc)
emotions primarily ig, then characters. ig those two are very neatly intertwined bc most of the decisions they make are based on emotions or on the fact that they try to not let their emotions control them.
47. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
at least two times. even when I say it's not edited, I at least read it twice to get most mistakes out.
48. What do you look for in a beta?
that they are native English speaker probably, but I don't really do betas at the moment
49. Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?
I've never gotten one and if I would I'd probably just block the person and try to forget about it.
50. How long is your longest fic?
not posted and still working on it: around 500k
posted one shot: 19k
posted series: 16k
51. What’s your total AO3 word count?
38.4k on ao3 / 100k+ on tumblr
52. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I respond to most comments but I always feel a bit awkward bc I never know what to say
53. How do you spend your time when it comes to fanfiction? Are you primarily a fic reader, writer, or a perfect 50/50 split of both?
primarily I write, I'd say 65/35 writing to reading ratio of the time I use on fanfic
54. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?
being able to put the vision that I have in my head on screen, being allowed to use as much or as little details as I wish to. but most of all the fact that I know more about the whole narrative than the characters in it, the fact that I know when they are being unreliable or are lying to themselves or just don't know better.
55. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?
I'm definitely a JJ girlie, I'll always be even tho I noticed that people are more into Rafe...
56. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
a friend of mine keeps asking how the fuck I write so much and I honestly don't know. I just do. and I personally always feel like anything below 2k is not enough but I don't try to drag things out too much just to get more words in. so maybe that's it.
57. Do you prefer editing as you write, or waiting until it’s finished?
while writing for sure because it just makes the whole process faster than if I did it the other way round. but it took some time for me to get to the point where my in-writing editing makes the post-writing editing almost obsolete
58. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc)
writing for the most part. but I also love researching stuff.
59. Does anyone in your personal life know you write fic? if not, would you tell anyone?
only my friends. I wouldn't tell my parents and I'm glad they don't understand English bc if they did and found this blog I wouldn't be allowed to leave the house forever or they'd kick me out. which is ridiculous bc I'm an adult :'(
60. Have you had a writer you admire comment on your fic? What was that like?
yeah and it was the best feeling ever. makes me happy just thinking about it.
61. Why do you continue writing fics?
simply because I love writing and I choose to write for myself, not for anyone else. that's also why some prompts stay in my inbox for longer, because I need to find the right moment where I am content with writing it in a way that makes me feel happy about what I created.
62. Thoughts on cliffhangers?
love love love. can't get enough of them. use them all the time.
63. Something you hate to see in smut.
personally, I have mommy and daddy issues, so seeing it being sexualized is always weird to me. but I try to look past it and even when I write it bc it fits the character, it's still weird to me. but I would never tell anyone to not write it. I know a lot of ppl enjoy it a lot. it's just not my personal piece of cake.
another thing, which is just formatting ig, is when there's no warnings list. I think it's important to put at least a warnings list, especially for smut.
64. Something you love to see in smut.
aftercare. always. Even if it's just a quick scene of them lying in bed or something and just being soft with each other or talking about random things to cool down. I think it's really important.
65. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project
right now I'm looking extremely heavily towards kinktober and starting on those projects and then seeing people read them in October.
I'm also super hyped over my oc lore bc I recently had a big breakthrough with the help of a friend, and now everything I had before makes so much more sense. it feels like I had always had known but the information was hidden and now I have it and I can see a crystal clear picture of her life and the life of her parents and grandparents and basically the whole family past and possible future.
66. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie. pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc.)?
I hate it. I'm trying to not let it get to me, I can only write when my brain let's me. But I do know that no matter how long it takes I will finish started projects.
67. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas?
I don't mind either. I love when it's a prompt or challenge that gives me creative freedom. like just a sentence or a single word prompt with a character is top notch bc I can go crazy on it all I want.
68. What, if anything, do you do for inspiration?
I listen to music mostly, sometimes tiktoks inspire me too. It's really anything that can give me inspiration.
69. What work of yours, if any, are you the most embarrassed about existing?
the ghostface one. I don't even know why I posted it, but I'm not gonna delete it bc I think it's important for ppl to see the progress you made over time.
70. When asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?
depends on the person. if it's my friends who I hold near and dear I'm not really embarrassed at all. I sometimes talk too much about writing and think I annoy them with it, but they always say it's okay so I guess I should believe them.
I think it's needs some type of connection and mutual respect for me to even be able to talk about it, so I wouldn't really talk to someone who I think would nake me feel embarrassed.
71. When it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, ect.?
I only put down dates, the rest is more or less stored in my brain. unless I write lore down somewhere for someone to read and give me feedback. then I take that and put it in a separate lore doc but I wouldn't really need to bc, like I said, mostly my brain will remember lore
72. What order do you write in? front of book to back? chronological? favorite scenes first? something else?
when I started writing I did chronological, then I started to jump in between but that caused a lot of fuck ups and I couldn't remember what happened where, so I decided to rewrite my whole fic chronologically before posting it.
for prompts or just stuff that I post on here I always do linear/chronological if the narrative let's me
73. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?
I don't really know. I guess I use a few phrases and words more than others would, and sometimes my sentences sound very german bc that's my native tongue. but those don't show up to me as mistakes when editing bc to my brain the sentences structure makes sense. that's probably all, but I don't really know.
74. You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it?
maybe if they are familiar with my writing style, with the way I use certain words only in certain situations. or how I nickname some of the characters.

I've got a fic that's such a cool concept! It's 10 ish years after Starcourt s4 AU that's just *excellent*! The only downside is it's not finished yet but it's funny, it's great, it's perfect!
It's called The Gate At Your Feet on ao3 by facemyJam
https://archiveofourown.org/works/44213419/chapters/111183361
The Gate At Your Feet by facemyJam
Rating: Teen and Up
62,1337 words, 14/? chapters
Archive Warning: Chose not to Use
Tags: Alternate Ending, Badass Nancy Wheeler, Firefighter Steve Harrington, so much trash talking being used as a form of love, it's 1999, did i do this just to make one song joke for Steve?, mmmmmmaybe, poor Murray did not sign up for this, Stranger Things Season 4 Rewrite, just thought i'd give them a nice little break before bringing out the Big Bad Guy, Major Character Injury, Ya know per usual, Starcourt happened and then it stopped for a while
Summary:
“Why would Henry want that?” Eddie asks a few minutes later. “What would he gain from helping the Mind Flayer invade our world, killing everything and anything?” And wasn’t that the question? Another one could be, what does the Mind Flayer get from taking over their world? Isn’t it just like those weird sci-fi shows Dustin and Mike are always trying to get them to watch that has some alien species hungry for war like those Delick pepper pot things? Or is it just an insatiable hunger in and of itself, always in need of consuming anything and everything? “There’s always psycho’s out there looking to blow everything up,” Erica says callously. “Why should a freaky white boy who had mind powers in the fifties be any different?” “I mean, he killed his entire family by breaking all their bones and sucking their eyeballs out of their heads,” Lucas adds. “That doesn’t exactly scream stable.” -- Or: Just when they thought it was over, just when they've finally moved on from Starcourt and Russians and portals to other dimensions, they're called back to Hawkins to deal with the Mind Flayer once more. This time, though, they're older and wiser, and just so incredibly fucking tired of this shit.
Thanks for the rec!

hiii ☺️ 10 & 25 for the meta asks
because you writing is always so interesting to me! and it's always feels so well thought out and just like satisfying(?) not sure if that's the word i'm looking for, but the point still stands 💗
omg hi pls that is really sweet thankyou!!! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
25) What part of writing is the most fun?
oohhhh that’s a tough pick! there’s a lot i love abt writing, but i think i have the most fun when i find a creative flow & everything clicks into place, and i just get hit w/ this giddy feeling of like ‘ah yes, this is why i'm writing this story :3’
10) How would you describe your writing process?
short answer: controlled chaos xD
i put a longer answer under the cut, i hope the explanation makes sense asdkjasdjk
meta asks for writers
my process varies from fic to fic, esp if they’re shorter, but for many of them it kinda looks like this:
plotbunny attacks
i wordvomit as many of my thoughts & ideas into a doc as i can
even if those thoughts & ideas contradict each other or don’t connect smoothly
no thinking just get all the frenzied ‘ohgodineedtowritethisthing’ energy out of my system
lots of all-caps yelling
using all-caps is my main brainhack to turn off the thinking lol
end up w/ messy collection of unhinged notes
(i usually give it some time to marinate at this point, esp since i’ve been so focused on finishing whichever way. a lot of my ‘wips’ are roughly in this stage)
then:
read through the mess
sort things into the right order
add new ideas that get sparked by rereading the first ‘wave’
set aside the things i end up not liking
just kinda refine the mess into a semi-coherent storyline
at this point, sometimes i have an extremely detailed outline, even w/ entire conversations scripted out; but sometimes i only have a vague idea of what’s going on and how i’m getting from A to B to C lol
-> if the outline is detailed, i can dive straight into the writing and it’s usually pretty easy and straightforward (unless i change my mind abt smth lol)
-> but if i hit a part of the story for which i only have a very vague outline, then i first take a closer look at the scene i need to write;
what do i want to happen in this scene?
what does it need to achieve?
does it have to lead into a specific ending for smooth transition into the next part?
etc etc
in that case, i kinda try to do the same thing as at the start; just mindlessly blarf out all my thoughts/ideas, sort them out, then get writing!
(i also use that all-caps trick whenever i get stuck during the actual writing lol; it just really helps to turn off the perfectionist in my brain. like leave me alone i’m yelling here!!!)
…i feel like this makes me sound waaayyyy more organised than i am ^^;; i usually start w/ an outline, yes, but i’ll also just change the entire plot on a whim if i think that makes for a better story lol
(example; in my original 9-chapter outline for whichever way, the qpr throuple becoming official was planned as the ending. then i changed my mind within like 2-3 chapters bc the trio just instantly felt so good together and i couldn’t justify why they wouldn’t just, youknow, talk abt that sooner!!! esp once i added all those extra chapters, which would’ve dragged it out even longer! so i pushed those storybeats forward, decided on a different milestone to end on, and adjusted the rest accordingly lol. really, really happy i did that :’) )
i hope this was what you’re looking for & that it made any sort of sense??? again thankyou for the ask! (〃^▽^〃)

20 questions for writers! Thanks @sga-owns-my-soul @frostysfrenzy

5 works
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
116,241, mostly between the two novels.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, MCU Avengers Steve Rogers, (unpublished: Saving Hope, Daredevil, Supernatural).
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The there are only 5 on Ao3 so far 😅
You and Me (Stargate SG-1, Daniel Jackson x gn reader, 🔞)
What was Lost (Marvel, Steve Rogers x OFC 🔞)
Fetish (Captain America, Steve x Peggy)
Worlds Colliding (Stargate SG-1, Sam x Martouf)
Capturing Samantha (Stargate SG-1, Sam x Martouf)
5. Do you respond to comments?
YESSS!! I live for comments, and reblogs, all the interactions!!!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
You and me is the angstiest in general. It gets very emotionally dark.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
What was Lost has the happiest ending so far... but it may be overtaken by You and Me, we'll have to wait and see 😉
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I was once told my mystery was too mysterious 🤣
9. Do you write smut?
Sort of, I write romance 😘 so it's bound to happen 😏
Okay, yes. Yes, I do.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've ever written?
Not yet, never say never.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
We all have, everyone who's been on Ao3 for a while. Don't steal my shit 🤬 I'm pretty mad about chatGPT scraping everyone's works. Disgusting bunch of thieves!!!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope! I think most writing loses its essence in translation.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yes! It was so much fun!!!
14. What's your all time favourite ship?
Probably Daniel/Sha're, or Daniel/Vala (Stargate) but also partial to Steve/Nat (MCU), and Matt/Elektra (Daredevil). But X reader fics are the most fun you can have 💘
15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a dirty Daredevil X reader languishing in my wips. Might get around to it when I watch the new season.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Character voices and attentions to detail. People usually comment on those things. I'm also good at bringing the Drama™️. There may be some screaming, crying and throwing up 😂
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Keeping it short and sweet, my slow burns really are slow burns. I have to pay specific attention to pacing and linking scenes well. I do way too much Research™️ .
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I would if I had a native language speaker to proof read it for me.
As a reader I find it annoying if I have to keep moving back to the chapter notes to check translations. It interrupts the flow.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
The X-files but I was a kid, does that count? Supernatural is probably more relevant.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Honestly, I love my two novels, I'm pretty attached to them 🥰 they've been such a journey, personally and in terms of developing my writing skills.
tagging @i-am-morrigans-apprentice @jgem87 @darsynia @figsandfandoms @rightbrainboredom @riverageleis @sarcasticsciencefictionwriter @cuillere @courtforshort15 and anyone else who's interested!
