Question time cuz now I'm curious! (Mainly pirate AU cuz you guys sorta caused a fixation) What is the mark on her forehead? Is it related to her inheriting the samadhi fire or is it related to her draconic past? :0 IS THERE A FIC I CAN CONSUME?? Is there other refs on the making? I'm interested to see Sandy's design :3 Are you and spoof like co-au authors, or do you guys kinda pass the au kinda like hot potato? (lol) I noticed that in the concept for the pirate AU it had a doodle indicating that the treasure (which I'm presuming is the staff from previous post 👀👀) is located on Macaques eye. (probably, idk) and that Mk is the key. So uh. Bestie. How does t h a t work???? (Am nervous of angst)
Loving the details! Love the Au! Love any silly thing, either way keep it up Speck!
-your friendly mutual Peony (I should change my pfp lol)
OKAY. IMMA JUST RAMBLE BECAUSE I GOT SOME ANSWERS THAT ARENT SPOILERS. WAHOOO!!! This got long. So just click see more for all the answers
summary:
1. Both. 2. Yes and no. 3. No refs but comics are still being sketched. 4. It’s more like a game of telephone, and 5. i’ll explain when we get there.
1. The mark on mei’s forehead is actually from both!
Tumblr media
My inspiration was the pattern on the back of redson’s jacket in the show. It has 3 fireballs and three lines in the middle. Since i deeply love putting in tiny details I of course used this as inspiration for the markings on redson’s back in the au.
Tumblr media
The same markings that they got when the samadhi fire was ripped away from their body and sealed into the golden rings. However, it looks like part of the pattern is missing from the burn marks on redson…
Tumblr media
2. Is there a fic? Yes and no. I’m still super new at writing fan fiction and comics are my go-to place for storytelling, as a result I’m hesitant to actually release any fic to the public. More so, the comics give me some time to actually think about what I want the plot to be, since i’m just laying down train tracks as I go. (Terrible. i know.)
3. Are there any refs in the making? Honestly? right now, no. Ref sheets are fun but only when you draw that character a lot. And unfortunately, just doing the mei sheet took me around 20 hours total to get it where i wanted it to be. So, i’m still working on other sheets. However, since you asked about Sandy..
Tumblr media
He’s supposed to appear in the next comic which will probably take me a while to do. So please be patient! With finals and everything I have no idea what my day to day looks like.
4. Are me and @spoofyleaf co-authors or is this a game of hot-potato? I think it’s closer to a game of telephone, where things get lost in translation sometimes, but over all the message gets passed. The amount of rambling they endure from me in ungodly and i appreciate them. so much.
5. The concept art… uhh don’t worry about :>
THANK YOU FOR YOUR QUESTIONS!!!

What's maps to the stars? (I think that's what it's called? Your oc thing). I don't think I've seen much for it before.
OHOHO IVE BEEN UNLEASHED. ALRIGHT
So, Maps To The Stars (usually abbreviated as MTTS) is a OC story written by @hello-naptiime and I! Most of the content for it is on Twitter, but since we've both been more active here Tumblr is ALSO being subjected to it.
MTTS is a multi-plot, ridiculously over detailed, VERY LONG, sci-fi / romcom type story that centers around the multiverse, how it works, and the people in it!
There is a Twitter Moment of art we've posted, and Naps has made an Animatic of some of the story! Also have Toyhouse refs for the main cast!
Doing a lil read-more cause oh babey this is going to get long and im not even going to be fully explaining everything
So! I will try my best to explain as simple as I can
This story features three plotlines that INITIALLY start out like this:
A Plot : Slice-of-life romcom, following a group of four neighbors (named Atlas, Mira, Rhea & Sirius) and their life in a small town in Northern Massachusetts. And eventual falling in love.
B Plot : A group of tech college students (named Wolfgang, Everett & Hawkings) from the 80's, try to build a machine that can travel the multiverse with the spare time they have. Also cool junkyard lady (Laika!)
C Plot : Comes much later, follows a ex-hunter from the multiverse government (Charon) and the multiverse's top wanted criminal (Styx) and their adventures and shenanigans whilst working together!
Some of these characters ARE interchangeable to the plotlines (ex. Charon actually is initially introduced as part of the B plot BEFORE he becomes C)
There is multiverse government corruption drama. There is ridiculous romances. There is trauma and stupid decisions. There is memory loss. There is Space Jam. Miku Garfield is a canonical thing. This story is the light of my life.
The main plot takes place over 4-6 years. The overall story is 24-26 years long. There is, in fact, over 100 characters designed for & involved in the story In Total and there is still more we need for the world building. According to Naps, the folder with all the OC art in it is nearing 1k images because I literally did nothing but draw them ALL last year and a good portion of this year.
There is TECHNICALLY two docs written that explain the plot, but I don't know if Naps will let me share it in case we actually commit to making this a comic or animated series BUT
Let me tell you. I made the first doc in October 2021. I stopped updating it in April 2022, and last I edited it, it was at 21k words. That doc is well outdated.
I rewrote it in April to properly format it, simplify it (cause it took like 2-3 hours for our friends to read it), and update it. It is currently near 11k words. It still needs an update to current lore. Two characters who were SUPPOSED to be side characters are now part of the main cast cause we accidentally made them too important. I am terrified for whatever absolute monster this thing will continue to become and it is also my baby.
I will happily talk about it more but I don't want to make this Extremely Long so I'll leave it at that gjsbdghbd

Deck the Halls
(Steve/Tony fluff, in which the Avengers make their own holiday decorations, and it goes about as well as you would expect)
Also on AO3
“Okay,” Tony said, “I am willing to admit that putting repulsors on the Iron Man ornaments was not my best idea.”
He paused to duck as a pillow, half a molasses crinkle, and what looked suspiciously like a tranquilizer dart flew at him from three different locations in the Avengers common room.
“But I maintain,” he continued from behind the couch, “that the underlying principle of the design is both technologically sound and aesthetically adorable. Also, refs, can I get a rule check on ‘no using knock-out techniques on your teammates’?”
“If I wanted you knocked out, you’d be dreaming of sugar plums right now,” Natasha called out from somewhere behind a makeshift barricade of packages and wrapping-paper rolls. One of the tiny Iron Men buzzed over her head, sending a barrage of dime-sized repulsor blasts at a Rudolph gift bag, and Natasha shot the ornament out of the air with her Widow’s Bites.
“Also, calling in the refs is a pretty bold move,” Bruce added, “considering that the miniature murder bots guarding our Christmas tree are in flagrant violation of rules ten through fifteen.”
Bruce’s voice was slightly distorted by the walls of his blanket fort, which Steve had suggested building as an anti-Hulking measure when the first wave of ornaments flew off their branches and into attack formation. So far the strategy had proved successful, with only one close call after Thor almost collided with the fort during an enthusiastic mid-air tackle.
“Remind me never to do holiday dinners with you guys again,” Rhodey groaned. He was crouched next to Tony behind the couch opposite Steve’s, and Steve could hear the faint whir of the War Machine gauntlet as he scanned the room. “I could be falling asleep on my couch to the Vince Guaraldi Trio, and instead I’m hiding from an army of weaponized Christmas figurines.”
“When you’re subpoenaed for the inevitable senate hearing about this, just remember: it was all Steve’s fault,” Tony advised.
“Thanks, sweetheart,” Steve replied, adding an eye roll that he knew Tony would hear in his voice.
It was true that Steve had been the one to suggest that they make their own decorations for the Tower this year. But it was also true that Steve’s contribution (a hand-drawn series of family holiday cards to hang on the fridge) had been the only one that hadn’t tended to produce chaos. Thor and Natasha’s idea to braid garlands had started out innocently enough. But then they’d decided to add “motivational mead” to the creative process. Ten hours later, they’d produced so many strings of spruce, holly, and taffeta that the garlands had to be looped around every available surface, twisting around lamps and chair legs until the common room looked like it was being slowly strangled to death by a festive boa constrictor. Bruce – in a complete failure to learn from the previous Halloween’s Saltwater Taffy Incident – had concocted a spiced eggnog so addictively good that each new batch he made disappeared almost immediately – setting off a cycle of recrimination and dairy-based hoarding. And Clint had stayed true to form by making an extremely explicit, themed pin-up calendar of himself, which had been quickly banned from all common areas by a 4-2 vote (“I think these poses are courageous,” Thor had explained, “considering your very small human sizes”).
“Blame is assigned by the survivors, Stark,” Natasha said evenly. Her face darted into view at one end of her barricade, next to a box wrapped in “Hulk Smash!” paper. “And if we don’t get these ornaments contained before Bruce’s chocolate pecan pie has to come out of the oven, I can’t guarantee that anyone in this room will qualify.”
“How many left, JARVIS?” Tony asked.
“Just three, sir,” the crisp voice replied. “And my sensors indicate they are all locked in a standoff with the large stuffed hedgehog on the lower floor.”
“Do I have to ask?” Rhodey muttered.
“It’s for Pepper,” Tony explained, “a running gag: she thinks it’s hilarious.”
“We should set a trap to draw out the remaining ornaments,” Steve decided. “I want eyes on the perimeter – where the hell is Clint anyway?”
As if on cue, a grappling arrow shot across the room and latched onto the side of a container of eggnog. The metal wire attached to the hook pulled taut and then retracted with a sharp twang, yanking the eggnog over their heads and back into the air vent.
“You have a problem, man!” Rhodey yelled after Clint’s feet as they slithered away from the opening in the ducts. “Get help!”
“Ah that gives me an idea!” Thor exclaimed. He popped his head up from behind the kitchen counter, where he had apparently been braiding one of the garlands into his hair. “The tiny Iron Soldiers seem determined to guard the spirit of the holidays. Perhaps we can use that to our advantage.”
“Right,” Tony agreed, “cover me.”
He stood up and strode toward the Christmas tree, gauntlet charging.
“Come out, my tiny, murderous robot sons,” Tony called, “or I’m going to turn your favorite tree into a pile of toothpicks.”
“Did you actually equip them with audio sensors? Or are you just grandstanding?” Rhodey asked.
“Kind of stepping on my moment here, Gumdrop,” Tony replied.
And whether it was because the ornaments had somehow sensed a threat to the tree or because they had successfully subdued all the stuffed animals in the vicinity, Steve’s ears suddenly picked up the low whine that meant hostile décor was incoming. As Tony held his position, Steve saw Natasha, Rhodey, and Thor leap out from cover and take aim at the three diminutive Iron Men that were shooting toward their creator’s head.
“Tony!” Steve yelled, and Tony let out a small yelp of surprise as Steve tackled him sideways onto the couch. Steve curled his body protectively around Tony’s, and he threw up his shield just in time to shelter them from the disintegrated ornaments, which fell like a shower of harmless glitter into a halo around their heads.
Steve cleared his throat, feeling his cheeks flush slightly as a chunk of armor the size of a pea pattered onto the couch next to them with a barely audible fizzle.
“My hero,” Tony smirked.
“A bit overdramatic, Rogers,” Thor observed.
“Ooooooh, Captain America!” Clint called in a high-pitched voice from a nearby vent. “You’re so dreamy. Will you sign my chest?”
A chorus of boos and a smattering of tossed cookies followed Clint’s laughing retreat back through the ducts.
“So I’m thinking the Mark II ornaments should come with a fail-safe button,” Tony mused, looking up at Steve with his head still resting in the crook of Steve’s arm.
“Tony,” Steve sighed.
“What?” Tony asked with exaggerated innocence. “I have models for the whole team. There’s even a little Cap ornament with magnets for the hug and fly.”
Steve chewed his bottom lip.
“Are you trying not to smile?” Tony asked.
“I’m trying to contain my disapproval,” Steve replied.
“You’re trying not to smile,” Tony confirmed. “Let it out, Steve. I’m objectively delightful.”
“You’re objectively a threat to national security,” Steve retorted.
“Yeah, and you love it,” Tony nodded. “That’s like…your number one turn on.”
Steve finally allowed a smile to spread across his face. In the part of his mind that was always scanning his periphery, he was aware of Natasha helping Bruce out of his blanket fort and picking a piece of lint out of his hair – her hand lingering a little longer than necessary as Bruce assured her he had a backup pie in the fridge. Rhodey and Thor were loudly concocting plans to smoke Clint out (and pointedly ignoring Clint’s own contributions from the vent above them). And in the center, as always, was Tony, who was grinning victoriously as he took in Steve’s expression.
“You’re right,” Steve told him. “I do love you.”
Tony's smile froze in momentary surprise and then softened.
“This is how you want to say that for the first time?” he asked teasingly, his hands coming up to brush at Steve’s sides just above the hem of his jeans. “On the couch, surrounded by our catcalling friends and the scorched remains of the homicidal holiday ornaments I created?”
“Yep,” Steve answered, leaning down to kiss Tony’s forehead. “I love that you make messes,” a kiss on the right cheek, “I love that you invite messes to move in,” a kiss on the left cheek, “I love that since I met you, you’ve made every mess of mine your mess too,” a final kiss – as gentle as Steve could make it – on Tony’s lips. “I love you, Tony.”
He pulled back so he could look into Tony’s eyes and watch the rapid play of emotion across his face – always too fast to track.
“I love you too, you big sap,” Tony replied, and as the team whooped and set off a round of Christmas crackers, he pulled Steve back down by the front of his Iron Man sweater.

I was wondering if u can do a bunch of random facts/headcannons for the main cast?
Oh man, I mean, I’m happy to try, but I’m not sure where to start for the entire cast of 10… well, now 11 gods. I know have some that are scattered around the blog’s tags, and also in places other than tumblr, but It’ll take me a bit to find them or think of new ones without revealing spoilers, hmm…
So here’s what I’ll try that’s similar to the 1 Like 1 Fact meme I did on twitter a while ago: for every note this post receives, I’ll add a DEITIES-related headcanon or fact about the main cast. The main cast includes Set, Horus, Anubis, Osiris, Isis, Nephthys, Bastet, Sekhmet, Thoth, Ra, and nowwwww Sobek – and maybe the Set Spawn and the big bad serpent too, if relevant. You can add a note by +liking this post, and if you’re interested in learning about a particular deity, you can mention their name in a comment (and it’s not necessary to reblog this, unless you want to!).
This should help give me a bit more focus and time to think of some decent non-spoiler headcanons/facts to share. I’ll come back to this post in a few hours and add any many as I can, depending on the amount of notes it receives, and I’ll bump and place them under the cut for easy access. So yeah, go for it /o/!!
[1] Been playing with a headcanon where Horus’s Eye can see an object’s or person’s weak spots – though only for like, a moment once it’s activated, cuz I’ve wanted to avoid him being OP (but then again… he’s a literal god… so >>)
Also a related-headcanon where he can see a person’s past injuries thru his Eye too, including the hidden ones that have long-ago healed and left no visible scar. I’d like to draw the ones he “sees” on others one day if I keep it…
[2] Set is the only one of his siblings that doesn’t have an avian sacred animal, and for a while I wanted to keep it that way and literally keep him “grounded” compared to his family (sans Anubis). But I found that he’s sometimes also associated with crows (and falcons??? interestingly enough), and even though I haven’t found solid evidence of this yet, I also like the idea of him being associated with bats even before I read about it in Kane Chronicles I swear– So those 2-3 animals are probably some alternate animal form that he has but just rarely takes.
[3] Actually while I’m at it– aside from the Sha Animal, here’s a list of 30-ish animals that I keep as Set’s canon forms in DEITIES verse (based on a combination of historical speculation, recorded myths, and personal headcanons), and would love to eventually draw him as one day:
Aardvark, African Wild Ass (and Donkey), Giant Anteater, Baboon, Bat, Boar/Pig, Bull, Camel, Crocodile, Crow/Raven, Dog (some sort of sighthound?), Fennec Fox, Fish (Eel?), Gazelle/Antelope, Giraffe, Goat, Goose, Hare/Rabbit, Hippopotamus, [Spotted] Hyena, Jackal, Jerboa, Okapi, Oryx, Panther, Rat, Scorpion, Shark, Snake (Viper), and Zebra/Quagga.
[4] RELATEDLY… I REALLY REALLY like the idea of Set somehow acquiring a Thylacine form even tho it’s in no realistic way in the current timeline because thylacines weren’t native to Africa let alone Egypt. BUT… I JUST… THEY REMIND ME OF SHA ANIMALS SO MUCH o)——–
[5] When I was considering the color schemes for the main cast, I once briefly envisioned a purple/violet scheme for Nephthys, but decided to scrap it because (1) I wanted her colors to contrast with her sister’s and match a bit more with her husband’s and son’s and (2) I found that purple was nigh impossible to find in AE wall art and admittedly worried “maybe it won’t look authentic if I use those colors;;;”
Even though I’m happy with her orange/black/red scheme now, I’ve recently found that purple is a common association / kemetic UPG (or doxa?) with her?? SO THAT WAS INTERESTING… I don’t think I’ll change her color scheme for DEITIES, but maybe I’ll draw her in an alternate purple outfit one day to see how it looks on her >>
[6] One of the reasons why I like Horus, Anubis, and Bastet as their own casual friend group in DEITIES verse is that, because they’re all relatively young gods, they all share the experience/pressure of being measured up against their older royal relatives – Horus being seen as both his father and mother’s legacy and feeling the pressure to restore his family’s throne; Anubis being know for his infamous father, and even having his paternity questioned (via rumors and “myths”); and Bastet being the youngest of Ra’s daughter, sometimes being compared to her sister’s roles and achievements.
They’re all really good at masking any pressure they feel, but they also probably confide in each other about it more than with others, cuz they’ve all “been there.”
[7] Relatedly, one of the earliest version of DEITIES Project, before it was known as “Deities Project,” had Horus, Anubis, and Bastet as the main trio. That’s been changed “for reasons” since then, and their characters were quite different back then, but it might be fun to explore a story that focused on the 3 of them someday.
[8] Okay ya’ll know the part during The Contendings where Horus and Set are racing in stone boats and Horus “wins” by painting his wooden boat to look like stone? I have ideas for how that entire race happens in DEITIES verse that would be fun to explore as a side story, but in order for me to give Horus a “legit” way to win without outright cheating, he covers his boat with stone casing/accents, and after he wins and is confronted about it… well…
HORUS: “The rules we agreed on were to sail a boat made with stone. They said nothing about it needing to be made entirely out of stone.”SET: “…”HORUS: “ :)c ”SET: “…” *Internally raging*
[9] I’ve headcanon’d that Nephthys has her own set of ~7 Shabti who act as her personal assistants while she’s conducting her nightly duties, or working around her home, but I haven’t decided much more past that (still debating on how she acquired them, and if she more-than-likely named them…).
The concept and number were loosely based on how many of the other goddesses had their own sets of 7 as extensions of their power and/or control (7 Ribbons of Hathor, 7 Arrows of Sekhmet, Isis’s 7 Scorpions), and I thought it’d be neat if the Goddess of Service had her own Shabti that exemplified that part of her domain.
[10] Thoth is an avid lover of puzzles, trivia, and strategy games, and he’s also exceptionally skilled at games of chance. He doesn’t gamble or make bets often because he understands the risks, but when he does he tries to be calculative about it… and also has a natural knack for luck going his way (EX: That one game of senet that he won to help assist Nut with having her children… which is another story for another day)
[11] Ummmmm Isis is the only one of the main cast who I haven’t drawn a ref of her sacred animal form yet… or at least, not digitally. Her animal is the kite, but I’ve been debating on a while for what species to base her design on. I like the idea of her kite form looking like the Black-winged Kite, although those species aren’t native to Egypt… but some are native to Africa… and they’re so fricken pretty and they fit her colors so well so I might cave on this ffffffffffff–
[12] While we’re on the subject of sacred animals (and to help me get somewhat closer to the note count lmao I’m trying guys–), Horus’s falcon form is based on both the Peregrine falcon and the Lanner falcon, with more simplified markings for my own sanity when I draw him in dozens of panels.
At one point, I considered making his falcon form leucistic to contrast more with Anubis and Set, buuuuuut I also liked the brown colors on the falcons’ normal coloration, so I kept it. (That and more leucistic birds of prey are hawks, so… maybe for Khonsu tho if I don’t change him to an owl, hmmmm…)
[13] Okay continuing thoughts on animal forms, Bastet is able to shift her cat form into nearly any coloration or breed she desires (aside from her eyes, which remain green), but for the purposes of DEITIES I draw her as a brown cat with light gradation markings. I knew of the Egyptian Mau but also realized the spots would take a lot of effort to redraw in the panels where she appears as a cat (much like the spots on falcons for Horus). I also personally really like solid-colored coats on cats, and in particular I liked the coloration of the Havana Brown, so it may be a little less authentic but it did factor into her colors as well.
[14] I'm still debating on Sekhmet's main hairstyle and want to play with it a bit more -- not the arrangement per se but whether to keep it as locks or to make them more obvious twists -- or perhaps a combination -- since I can see her with both style at certain points in time. Either way, at full length Sekhmet's hair is very long: if she were to loosen her tie and let it fall, her longest locks would reach past her hips.
[15] I initially gave Set yellow eyes because even though he's often depicted with red eyes, I didn't want to over saturate his design with just... well, red -- especially in his animal form where his entire body is covered in red fur (red eyes + red sclera would have been, a lot). I like how his yellow eyes provide some contrast, and I've since found some story-related reasons where his eyes might play some role in the plot… but anything further might be spoilery 8')c
[16] It took me a while to settle on Osiris's "resurrected" skin tone because there were a lot of sources that describe his skin as being green, or blue, or black in coloration. I even tried them out in an earlier color test that I shared on patreon, but I eventually went with black since the color has had various meanings in Ancient Egypt that include both life and death. (It also gave me some opportunity to give green skin to Ptah and blue skin to Hapi to help vary the designs for each of those gods).
[17] Relatedly, Osiris's mortal form is a naturally dark skin tone, but following this death he can no longer appear in that form. He is also unable to travel to the overworld / realm of the living, though I'm still debating on how restrictive this is (if it's limited to his physical body or if he can split his soul under special circumstances, or with assistance). Regardless, most of his correspondence with other deities have to be arranged within Duat for this reason.
[18] I haven't made any plans to designate a spouse or romantic partner for Ra. I understand that there were a number of goddesses that were associated with him in the myths and often said to be his wife, but for that reason it was hard to settle on choosing one -- or multiple, and I realized that for the purpose of the main story it might not be necessary. I also kinda like exploring the idea of this high king and powerful creator deity who's also a happily single father, and where it's not for tragic reasons like the separation from or death of his spouse (not to knock that trope at all tho sdjfdsf). I'm not opposed to him being shipped with anyone though, I just don't think I've been inclined to do it myself lmAO;;
[19] RELATEDLY, while Ra's daughters (Sekhmet, Mafdet, Hathor, Serqet, Bastet) don't have a biological mother, I like to think that they were raised in an environment with a lot of parental figures and mentors to go around, aside from just their father. I haven't quite settled on how it was organized though, but I know that the daughters regard Thoth as something of an uncle/secondary dad (tho their dynamic with Thoth is can vary a lot from the one the have with Ra), as well as their teacher and mentor. I can also see where other gods like Khnum, Khepri, and Bes, and goddesses like Neith, Seshat, Taweret, Ma'at, and Mut, might also have played some direct mentor role in the daughters' upbringing and sense of self.
[20] (squick + implied nsfw) I uh… have this minor gag headcanon where Horus, Isis, and Osiris just don't eat fish. They just… don't. And it's entirely based on that one part of the myths after Osiris's death, where a certain part of Osiris's desecrated body ended up in the river and was swallowed by a fish 8')c (should be noted that I'm not saying that event did happened in DEITIES canon, but I'm also not disputing it either >>).
Apparently that was considered a bad omen, and I still find conflicting information on whether consumption of fish was taboo for some or all in Ancient Egypt (I think "for some" makes better sense, cuz why would an entire society that resides near the Nile river pass up on a perfectly available food source?? But I digress, I might need to review this again so take my thoughts with a grain of salt--). I also admit that I've seen it mentioned that fish are not ideal food offerings for Isis and Osiris?? and I can imagine that maybe Horus adopts the distaste for them as well. Either way, I go with the DEITIES canon that while most people and deities happily consume fish, Horus and his parents will not, and they don't enjoy it as offerings either.
I’MMMMMM gonna end it here for now cuz my headcanons have run dry for the time being, thank you guys!!

Abandoned!
Tumblr media
Image by StockSnap from Pixabay I recently read a critique of Biblical prophecy (specifically, Messianic prophecy), which was alleged to have been taken out of context by selectively quoting a verse or two, rather than quoting the entire passage. This claim stems from either a lack of understanding the Jewish method of interpretation or disregarding it. I'm sharing the following information with you, so you'll have a succinct response if and when you encounter this in the future. There are many ways to misinterpret what we read. When we do, we misrepresent what the author intended. The following quote is a common example of "misinterpreting" a Biblical text: "Finally, the true suffering of Jesus was not only the fact He was put to death on a Roman cross. 2nd Corinthians 5:21 explains the uniqueness of Yeshua's death: "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." He died as a sinless man, the Son of God, who took our sins upon Himself and experienced separation from the glory and presence of the Father in Heaven. He prayed, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?" He did not pray that prayer because the nails in his hands and feet were so painful; but because He experienced separation from the Father due to our sins." And while that may be the prevailing Christian interpretation (or more accurately, "interpolation") of the text, it certainly isn't the one the author intended. For those of you who aren't familiar with the acronym "PaRDeS"-- which means "orchard," or "garden" -- the "Peshat" is the plain, simple meaning of the text; "Remez" means a "hint" of something more; "Drash" means "to search out"; and "Sod" is the hidden or "secret" meaning within the text. If you are familiar with how PaRDeS was, and still is used, then you would be familiar with the interpretative methods used during the time of Yeshua. You would also be familiar with the "Parsha" readings as well. The following examples should suffice. Examples of 'Parsha and Parsh’ot' (A "Portion” of the “Whole”) In Judaism (including the Judaism during the time of Yeshua/Jesus), the citation of a Scripture text implies the whole context, not merely the quoted words. Its purpose was to call our attention to the entire Biblical passage, and not merely to the verse or verses being quoted. Example #1: “Shema Yisrael…"  (Deuteronomy 6:4) The majority of Jewish people around the world are intimately acquainted with the Declaration "Hear O Israel...," and could immediately complete it. But most Christians around the world wouldn't know what "Shema Yisrael" means, or where to find it. Example #2: "For God so loved..." (John 3:16) The majority of people around the world (Jews and Gentiles) are familiar with this verse and could most likely complete it. But the verses are part of a larger context, without which, the intended meaning is undermined. For examples in song, think of the first line of these two songs by the Beatles: "HELP!..." and "Can't Buy Me Love..." (Both of which are true, by the way.)😉 And most people would be able to quickly connect the first few words to the rest of the song. And here's the point: When Yeshua was quoting from Psalm 22:1, He was drawing their attention to the ENTIRE Psalm, and that it was being fulfilled before their eyes. As you know, He taught this way in all four Gospel accounts. (For a clear example of the "Remez," read Luke 4:14-21, and the entire chapter of Isaiah 61.) To read more into the text than the author intended is to do a disservice to the text, which often produces erroneous teachings due to a lack of understanding the Jewish context. Many leaders in the Word-Faith movement (and many otherwise reputable and respected theologians as well) have misinterpreted Psalm 22:1 and Matthew 27:46, and some have used those verses to teach false and destructive doctrines like "Jesus was separated from the Father, died spiritually and went to hell, was tormented by satan for three days until He was "born again" in hell," and similar heresies, as if the emotional anguish and physical torture wasn't enough to satisfy the Father, He also had to abandon (or "turn away") from His Son during His greatest act of obedience-- and in His greatest hour of need? 👉 NO! 👈 And when you read Psalm 22 in context, verse by verse, you'll see that King David begins the Psalm by questioning God in the midst of adversity (verses 1-16), but the Psalm ends in triumph and victory (verses 19-31), just like the suffering and victory of KING MESSIAH-- and that's the point. Also, verse 24 is emphatically clear: "For He has NOT despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; He HAS NOT HIDDEN HIS FACE FROM HIM but has listened to his cry for help (emphasis mine). Also worth mentioning is that when Yeshua spoke the words "Into thy hands I commit my spirit" (Luke 23:46), He was quoting from Psalm 31, which describes how King David felt rejected and abandoned, but ends in triumph and vindication. The words "Into thy hands I commit my spirit" was also a common bedtime prayer during the time of Jesus and are still recited by observant Jews as part of their bedtime prayers. Another text worth noting is 2nd Corinthians 5:21, where Saul/Paul is telling us that Yeshua became our "sin offering" (an "asham," or "guilt offering" (ref. Isaiah 53:10). He was NOT teaching that Yeshua "became sin" (or "to be sin"), as is often mistranslated in the majority of English translations.Ω Blessings on your journey, Steven

Frank Goodish, still touching lives to this day.
On a cool winter day, I had to make a house call to Mr. S (no name for healthcare privacy).  Mr. S was in his late 60’s and he was not doing well.  He had just lost his wife.  He was getting ready to move back east to live with his daughter with the hopes his grandchildren could spark life into him.
As I sat in his home with his daughter, they got me a snack and I gave Mr. S a breathing treatment.  He was a small, frail Japanese man who was obviously in a lot of emotional pain to go along with his poor health.  He barely spoke.
I looked around the room to see if there was something I could talk to him about to try and cheer him up; an old salesman’s trick.  His bookshelf was filled with books mostly in Japanese, the country he grew up in.  About 25 years ago his company asked him to move to America to work for their San Francisco Bay Area branch and he agreed.
https://www.amazon.com/Brody-Triumph-Tragedy-Wrestlings-Rebel/dp/1550227602/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1502198043&sr=8-2&keywords=bruiser+brody
I looked and saw some wrestling magazines.  He saw that I was reading them and all of a sudden a wry smile came to Mr. S and he took the nebulizer out of his mouth and said, HUSS, HUSS!
I smiled and asked his daughter what the heck that meant and she said that her father was a big wrestling fan and that was Bruiser Brody’s famous yell when he entered the ring.  Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen were his favorite wrestlers.  He slowly began to open up and he began to talk about Bruiser and Stan’s amazing entrances and their great skill.  Wrestling in Japan in those days was very serious business and the respectful fans of the orient had an amazing passion for it.  He said that his family and friends often went to the matches together and he was very fond of those memories.
We sat and talked for a couple of hours.  I had to come back the next day so I went home and went on Youtube.  I looked at every video I could on Bruiser Brody and I ordered the book “Brody; The Triumph and Tragedy of Wrestling’s Rebel” on Amazon.  It was written by his wife Barbara, and Wrestling Promoter and friend Larry Matysik.  Once I saw Bruiser Brody’s first entrance in Japan, my mouth was wide open.  Here they were playing Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song and he’s swinging a chain over his head while fans and ring workers alike ran for their lives.  I thought, “my God this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!”  I was a huge wrestling fan back in the day but I long since dumped it since it became the after school special type product it had become.  I was not into sports entertainment; I liked wrestling.
(below is a great Facebook group honoring Bruiser Brody)
https://www.facebook.com/groups/181147161997110/
I stayed up for hours probably watching nearly 50 videos on Frank Goodish, AKA Bruiser Brody.  The next day I went to Mr. S’s again and showed he and his daughter the Youtube videos, both in English and Japanese.  He was euphoric!  He wouldn’t stop talking saying that he was even at a few of the matches we watched.  I stayed for hours and listened to them laugh and have an amazing time reminiscing about the “intelligent monster” and the amazing fun their family had going to the matches.
When I left, Mr. S grabbed both of my hands and bowed saying he was so glad that I came by.  His daughter gave me some snacks to take home and thanked me as well.  I wished them well in their move and told them to get a hold of me if they needed anything.  That night I ate the snacks and drank Guinness watching Youtube videos of Frank doing leap frogs, drop kicks, and his classic move where standing still he would bring his leg straight up and smash his opponents face.  My jaw dropped.  I never saw anything like it.  To end it he jumped high in the air and busted his opponent with a knee.
The Myth of Bruiser Brody:
Frank Goodish was the greatest Independent Wrestler of all time and one of the greats period.  He was a spiritual man as well, and he could be complicated but the stories of him are of legend.  From his physicality and his “stiff” or “strong style”, to him carrying cans of tuna and green beans on the road.  He was mostly loved by wrestlers and hated by promoters.  I heard many positive and sometimes negative things about him but I had to find the truth.
I watched several matches with him and Stan Hansen.  It didn’t matter if the opponents were the Funk’s or whoever else, Stan and Frank ran through them like buzz saws.  There wasnt a wasted movement and they were like a tidal wave.  They just kept coming.  After every tag team match their opponents looked like they were about ready to pass out from exhaustion, while Stan and Frank looked like they were out for a Sunday morning stroll.  These guys were like machines that never tired.  I always thought the Road Warriors or a younger Steiner Brothers were the best tag teams ever, but Stan and Bruiser Brody are the best in my mind.  I’ll bring them to the ring against anyone in history and smile while doing it.
I also heard negative stories about Frank.  I wanted to know the truth and let’s face it; other than politics, there is no arena with more lies and falsehoods than the wrestling business.  It seemed that few really knew the truth or wanted to know it for that matter.  I took about 6 months to devour anything on Bruiser Brody so I could answer these questions.
Steroids:
I’ve seen various online articles saying what a huge steroid user Bruiser Brody was, especially from younger wrestling fans and writers.  Well that is false.  Bruiser did use steroids for a short time in the late 70’s when they were NOT illegal and they didn’t know the long term ramifications of their use.  Well Frank found out quickly they made him very sick.
On a trip home from Japan Larry Matysik explains in his book that Frank crumpled and collapsed on the airplane saying that he thought he was dying.  The doctors didn’t have a definitive answer to his illness but Frank did.  He felt that steroids were destroying his body so he stopped cold turkey in 1979.  He never used steroids again and he was never that ill.  What’s funny is that in the book the promotional posters of his upcoming match was a photo of him recovering in the hospital.
The Lex Luger “no sell” incident:
Boy does Brody get destroyed online for this one.  At the time Lex Luger was still learning how to wrestle but he had that amazing physique that was becoming a big deal in the steroid era of the 80’s.  Not even 2 years into his career, he was given a steel cage match with Bruiser Brody.  It was hard for wrestlers to watch because Luger had the reputation for being pretty self-absorbed and some thought his push was not fair.
Bobby Heenan explained that Luger went up to Brody and started telling him how the match should be played out.  Several others have said that Bruiser told promoters that he was not going to put up with any of Luger’s bulls**t.  Heenan explained that Brody said nothing but it was obvious he was pretty upset.  He told Luger they would just call the match in the ring.  When he went into the ring Brody never “sold” (acted like he was hurt by punches) and the match was uncomfortable to watch as Brody did nothing.  Luger looked like he legitimately got scared and left the ring; quickly; and immediately left the arena.  This story has also been backed up in interviews and podcast’s by the referee of the match, Bill Alfonso.  When Bruiser said nothing about it, the media and fans said Bruiser was just being a selfish jerk.  The problem was though that Luger was terrible at selling; and that’s if he sold at all; and Bruiser did not tolerate anyone that was disrespectful to him or who didn’t sell to him.  To tell a legend like Frank how the match was going to go was extremely disrespectful in his mind.
Was Bruiser Selfish & Difficult to Work With?:
https://www.cagematch.net/?id=2&nr=786&page=4&s=0
MANY wrestling fans go by rumors and do little research.  That’s why I hate going on some social media sites and articles that says Brody was a jerk and was selfish.  I looked up Brody’s matches (site seen above) during this career.  It doesn’t have all of his matches but most of them.  There is a pattern.  Bruiser lost only to people that were on his level.  He even lost to Brian Blair once when he was leaving a territory and no offense to Brian but does anyone think Brian could beat Brody?  Brody lost to the likes of Baba, Bruno Sammartino, Dick the Bruiser, Big John Stud, Paul Orndorff, Ted Dibiase,  & Abdullah the Butcher just to name a few.  They all have one thing in common; IT’S BELIEVABLE they could beat him.  Brody is a HUGE draw world-wide and if he’s losing all the time, you lose that big draw, especially in Japan!  How many times did Hulk Hogan lose?  Not many.  Why?  Because he had full control over his matches AND if he lost more often, it would kill his character.  Brody knew if he kept up his huge persona and didn’t lose, the fans kept coming.
Many said Frank was loved by wrestlers but hated by promoters. Jim Cornette once said that most promoters whose territories were doing good back in the day were millionaires, and they weren’t exactly givers.  In one story he told, after seeing Jerry Jarrett’s amazing mansion at a party, Memphis icon Jerry Lawler demanded more of a stake in the Memphis territory profits from him.  Cornette said, “the promoters usually took the sacks of money and threw it into the air.  What stuck to the ceiling was given to the boys and what came down was there’s.  And that was after their unique counting techniques”.
Bruiser knew what he was worth and he had power.  Everywhere he went he packed the houses and he made a ton of money for a lot of people.  He had power and of course he used it.  Few other wrestlers were as popular as he was or had the courage to stand up to promoters like he did.
It cracks me up that when corporations or companies wield that power, no one says a word.  If the little guy tries to wield some power though, they are selfish.  NFL teams rarely honor a players contract, many times cutting players before their contract runs out.  No one says a word.  If a player is playing fantastic and wants a raise though, fans tell the player to honor the contract and stop being greedy.  In wrestling, WWE is a billion dollar company who has corporate jets and helicopters and buses, but they still can’t “afford” to pay $800/month to give their wrestlers healthcare?
Tumblr media
Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody with another Championship win
I heard a few podcasts from wrestlers that ripped on Brody for being selfish by not losing matches or selling.  Are you kidding me?  I just watched matches where Rick Rude, Blackjack Mulligan, Abdullah the Butcher, The Funks and Von Erich’s and many others were kicking the crap out of Frank.  Problem is it’s easier to take in rumors than do some research.  Time also enhances these rumors.  Funny how after ripping on Brody they all would add, “but I knew when Brody was around we made a lot more money because he was such a huge draw”.  Steve Austin often clashed with WWE about the direction of his character.  Once he just went home.  No one ever said he was selfish.  Frank was just way ahead of his time.
If Brody was so nasty to deal with and so selfish, why were the promoters lined up to get him to come wrestle and why were wrestlers glad that he was around?  Because he made them more money!  Also, why did he get along with other promoters like Baba, Sam Muchnick and Larry Matysik?  The reason was that they were fair and professional and they paid him properly.
The stories of Frank’s kindness haven’t exactly hit the front pages either because he didn’t promote that part of himself.  That was just who he was.  Most celebs and athletes need cameras around any time they do anything nice, but not Frank.  He loved kids and they loved him, and he was very gracious to his fans.  He supported many wrestlers and taught them the ropes.  As long as you respected him and the business, and you sold for him when needed, you were cool.  Disrespect him or the business and it could get ugly quick.  He could bully you if you were on his bad side that is for sure.  Isn’t that attitude what most promoters have? Was he looking out for himself?  Sure he was.  I’m not naïve.  But, in reality he was so popular that if he was on top, everyone got paid.  Just like iconic names like Hogan, Flair and Andre, few wrestlers at the time could draw world wide like Frank could.
Jims Jamz:
Spring forward 2 years.  I saw the daughter of Mr. S at the Corte Madera, Ca Safeway.  We were both excited to see each other.  She sadly told me that her father had died recently and she was selling his house.  She saw that I was upset about that but she smiled and said don’t be sad at all.  “My father and our family appreciated you lighting a fire inside him.  He loved wrestling so much and he and his friends reconnected.  He watched so many matches on the internet and was so happy to regain memories that he cherished.  My children also helped so much.  His last two years were very happy.”
That night I was relieved and glad to hear Mr. S had some happy times and was out of pain.  I thought of him running to Bruiser with his wife and friends like kids as Brody entered the ring, and I laughed out loud.  Bruiser Brody was still making people smile and touching lives almost 30 years after he’s passed.  And for a new fan like me, I found out that Frank Goodish; one of the greatest wrestlers of all time; was also a great man in and out of the ring.    This is something that his wife Barbara and his son Geoff; along with loyal fans from around the world; have already known for a very long time. HUSS, HUSS!
“Iconic Wrestler Frank Goodish A.K.A. Bruiser Brody; Still Touching Lives After All These Years” Frank Goodish, still touching lives to this day. On a cool winter day, I had to make a house call to Mr.

rosenmarille’s embroidery tutorial
Tumblr media
hey anon you made my entire week and i love you
Let me preface this by saying that I’m in no way an expert and I’ve literally only been doing this for less than a month, so most of what I do is making it up as I go along. hopefully you find my tips helpful though!! <3
I wasnt sure which part you wanted to know about so i made a rundown of everything from start to end
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1) List of things you’ll need:
Embroidery frame (I just went to the nearest crafts store and got them in two sizes. Theyre quite cheap and sometimes also come in plastic or different shapes)
Fabric (the less stretchy the better, though if youre planning to decorate clothing I think it really depends on how determined you are. what ive got here is some leftover polyester fabric from cosplay and other sewing projects. you can even sew different pieces together if one isnt big enough for the frame but in that case you need to iron the sewed piece flat or else it will be very difficult to keep straight and neat)
Embroidery yarn (see pic) (theres two types, and ive only used pearl yarn (top) so far but the other one allows for more precision since you can pick how many strands of yarn you need)
Needle (see pic) (properly pointy, not like the crappy one above. I mainly use that for crochet things because it actually bends and that’s NOT what you want here)
Scissors and a pencil
Tumblr media
2) Sketch: Pick an image of what you want to do. I’ve found that at first, practicing with basic shapes and colours is a lot easier to get used to the whole thing, it helps give you a feel of how the yarn ends up looking stitched to the fabric. So far I almost only did screenshots, and I didn’t have to draw something up myself. In mobs case, I based it off a doodle I did in class and added a little colour to it
3) Pick fabric and yarn: That’s mainly up to you, depends on what youre going for, but as a fair warning, very light fabric colours will show the stitches and leftover yarn from behind, so you need to tuck them behind the main body of your embroidery later on
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4) Apply to fabric: 2 ways, both pretty much self explanatory, only heres where the stretchiness of the fabric comes into play. As you can see ive developed a fool proof technique, ive had tape stuck to the top of my laptop for weeks now, im not about to waste it? (use more than one tape, this is an old pic i took because the concept was hilarious in the moment) Pro tip: don’t draw your sketch on paper advertising dnd game sets because youre gonna have a hard time seeing the pattern through everything and youll curse yourself for doing that instead of paying attention in class  Pro tip 2: dark fabrics demand a white colour pencil, you literally wont be able to see anything else
5) Stitches: heres a LINK to the page I use to find all the different stitches I could possibly use. Practice makes perfect, i spent about two hours trying each of these out on an irrelevant piece of fabric to see how theyd work and how difficult they are, and still use that bit as ref to consider how a stitch would look on my current piece. Of these, ive only used about three in my finished broids, since theyre mostly for decorative things I think. Don’t let that stop you though, get creative and use the things im too lazy to incorporate!! (ill be using these terms for the rest of the tutorial, so if you dont know a word its probably in there)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6) Outlines/shading: Start by outlining your sketch with a few backstitches to get a feel for where everything needs to be. If theres shading then itd be useful to do those lines in the other colour already, or youre going to have to fix all that later and itll be a huge pain and make you want to stop altogether. It happens
Im not sure if that’s how its supposed to work but I fill in the shades first, it gives me a good sense of what direction the main colour stitches need to go to make it look dynamic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7) Fill in mains: This is where all those handy dandy stitches from that library probably wont help you too much if you want to do something relatively simple. Ive only used normal satin stitches to fill in colour so far, though what the link doesn’t mention is that it wastes a shitton of yarn. Yarn is expensive, so what you can do is come up for point 3 not back next to 1 but instead next to 2. Warning: that does warp the way the yarn lies though, so use that one accordingly (for example: I do Not use it when doing small delicate places, or things that need to be detailed in general)
Mob was fairly simple as far as that went since i didnt add a lot of pattern, but ritsu is a little more complicated. Like i said earlier, adding shade before the main colour helps because now i know where the folds in his clothes are and how the fabric would bend to accommodate it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8) Add details (like faces!):
Again, here I cant tell you exactly how you need to stitch to get everything looking good, just try to follow the way a face has its dynamics. Is it a long face, make lots of long vertical stitches, is it a round one, try to stick to the edges (but don’t spiral)
Facial features are a little more difficult because its hard to make a round nub or dots for pupils on something very small but its better to try 5 times and get it right the 6th instead of leaving the 1st try (i took ritsus entire face apart at least 3 times and t b q h i still think it doesnt look good but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9) Background: Get real fancy on that shit, heres where you can try out those cool rose shaped stitches from up there in the link, go wild lol
10) Lastly: PATIENCE
I cant stress this enough, this WILL take a loooot of time, the first ritsu I did took me a literal week, while the second one took me roughly four hours in total (and that was a rather simple design).
Accept the fact that it wont look as good as you imagined it. That may sound harsh but for me that’s been my main issue, imagining how a string would lie exactly and then looking on in disgust when that doesn’t work out. You’re not drawing, the medium doesn’t exactly translate, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing! Try to figure out what methods work best for embroidery exclusively.
Don’t be afraid to undo, be careful about it though. I use those big scissors and it’s a bad idea, don’t do that. Unpicking from the back to save the yarn also works but it gets difficult (and at some point impossible) once the strands start getting woven together on their own
And there you have it, a finished piece of embroidery!!
Tumblr media
You can now either hang it up in its frame and cut away the excess fabric at the sides or tie it around a piece of cardboard like so. it’s a little hard to get right at first but practice amiright
I hope i could be of help!! if you have any more questions feel free to come to my ask anytime!! ^^ <33

Show 21 of the #80showyear took me to glorious Hindley for possibly GPW’S biggest show ever with the WWE UK rematch of Sam Gradwell vs “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne as the shows’ main event. The announcement of this match brought a packed house to Hindley with a more mature audience than usual but still the same family friendly storyline driven show that GPW has become accustomed to.
But before I could actually get to Hindley, transport issues came about due to me and my brother staying on the wrong train and getting the connection to Hindley, which meant an half hour round trip to Moston and back to Manchester. We eventually got to the building around 7pm, which meant we had to forego a pre graps pint in The Bird In'th Hand which sells bitter at £2.20 a pint and is very much worth it.
So onto the event we had the next part in the Sheikh Rizzi Khan challenge to former slave Martin Kirby. The Sheikhs choice of wrestler was Scouse wrestler and Futureshock regular Don Meacho who seems to have gained a sort of Mafia Gimmick with added long coat and fat cigar. Meacho i always thought had potential in his early career as a heel but since then has sort of gone missing from most Futureshock shows. Kirby picked up the win here but got what is the ritual of The Sheikh flogging Kirby with a flip flop.
Jimmy Jackson (british champion) took on Joey Hayes in a very good match till Cyanide came out and interfered which furthered the storyline between him and Joey which started in the fast track 4 way at the last show. Jackson as good as he is for a relative newcomer and is on to look out for, is being booked as a very lucky champion here, which you could tell that the crowd was behind Joey in this match. Joey i also note comes out to a cracking Ian Brown tune.
Cyanide beat “Operamania” Matthew Brooks in the opener. Brooks has a very unique gimmick for me, as far as i know he is a trained singer. He sings his entrance theme and also incorporates the sound of song into his offence. The Singer Splash is as inspired as it sounds. Brooks is getting new bookings all over the shop now, i would recommend seeing him.
The main event between Dunne and Gradwell was as good as you would think it would be with comedy spots including Dunne slamming spectators on Gradwell and even biting his fingers to make him fall off the balcony. Dunne was good in this face role but still doing his trademark sneers, Gradwell looked a star as well. Gradwell eventually got the win after some skullduggery but resident bad ref Mike Fitzgerald was involved so we knew what was coming.
Beer Prices - £3.00 a pint for lager, the Hindley cheap pint name is lived up to again.
Half time photos - £3.00 for Pete Dunne, bargain of the century and as you can see resident camera man Tony Knox did a great job (profile picture)
Raffle - £2 a strip, sadly not a winner this time due to Fitzgerald drawing it out.
Overall this show was amazing fun 9/10, cheap drink, cheap photo, top graps.
Show 22 of the #80showyear was the monthly trip to Progress Wrestling in Camden for on paper a corker of a show was awaiting and this didn’t disappoint.
Usually for these Camden shows i don’t arrive till around 2pm as i dont fancy waiting in the mass queues that Progress has become accustomed to, plus the usual “Ogden Corner” spot is easy to get unlike some other fans positions of the front few rows and the upper balcony. So first port of call was the local Brewdog and The Black Heart which even though you are paying through the nose for a good pint of craft ale, the latter especially plays some good tunes.
This show featured the “Fans bring the weapons” match between Will Ospreay and Jimmy Havoc in which some of the great weapons (sadly no dildo’s or ones made of lego) included pinata donkey, vinyl records, barbed wire and a GRANDFATHER CLOCK!!!. Now having seen many a Havoc Deathmatch/No DQ match recently this was probably the best of the lot but i would like to see him just work a normal match for a change once in a while just to freshen it up a bit, just my opinion.
So as this match went after many a barbed wire shot, dilution of cut fingers, people getting clocked and the sight of Havoc ddt Ospreay through a table. The worst sight was Will (dressed as Colonel Sanders) getting a non gimmicked guitar over his head. Just one almighty THUD was heard around the ballroom. Havoc eventually got the win after a few rainmakers which as per the mid match stipulation in which Ospreay made it “Loser Leaves” meant we wont be seeing Will in Camden or Progress for a while to come.
Other matches that took place was Pete Dunne vs Mark Andrews for the Progress title - This was another good match between the two but was tainted by the Dusty Finish that relinquished the belt from Mark Andrews after Chris Roberts noticed a Dunne foot under the ropes. Since the Sheffield main event of ZSJ vs Pete Dunne, the amount of screwy finishes has become prevelant in the main events of Progress, but maybe just nit picking there.
The Ringkampf duo of Axel Dieter Jr and WALTER faced Matt Riddle and Mark Haskins respectively in singles action, both of which were of the top level. Riddle has been very good in his Progress appearances and WALTER is always great value. Just go and watch his matches in the SSS16 last year to see how good a big man he is.
But overall match of the night honours went to Jack Sexsmith vs Travis Banks. If you want a 15 minute match that gets a guy credibility as a possible threat in the SSS16 it was Sexsmith. Banks made a star of Jack here and for the 3rd match on the show came out of nowhere as a great fun match. This match might be still available on Facebook so go out and check this out.
Beer Prices - Still £4.90 for Camden Pale Ale, when will it go over the £5?
Overall top show and way better than the Manchester show the week or so before, definetely in the 9/10 range.
So thats March’s shows over with, next time i will be delving into April with some humdingers of weekends out.
