#it might very well be true for werewolves in general

He probably can't hold a job down because he is constantly ill - the frequency of his absences would definitely cause suspicion after a while as well, especially if he wasn't willing to say what was wrong. I don't think wizarding Britain has any concept of employment law or employess rights.
nah youāre probably right and @acupofsolace mentioned the same as well. itās also the no. 1 reason given in fics too. but idk, justā¦something about it doesnāt sit right w me ykno? like, i would get it if this wasnāt set in such a magical, fantastical world. but that it is, my mind just would not let me accept such a mundane, boring, reason for it haha like, when magic is capable of so much, it just seems like a lazy way out, at best ykno?
but i do agree that there probably wouldnāt be anything like labor laws (which takes me to an absolutely fascinating experiment of communism/socialism in the WW?!?). and that would definitely have adverse consequences for the most vulnerable in society, bc others can deal w those barriers. but werewolves canāt. so theyāll end up being the first line of defence. but i do wonder how much the average employer would know about moon cycles and lycanthropic behaviour (itās kinda like smokers and their habits; i always have deodorant, gum, and sanitiser with me which is v telling but my parents have never found out that i smoke, put me in front of another smoker or ally, tho? they catch me at first sight. i think the average wixen might be more like my parents than the other side but that could be me haha)
if i do take this seriously, though, i can think of many jobs that do not have to be affected by his lycanthropy. in fact, the ones where āregular leaves on the full moon look suspiciousā would even be possible would be like a. storefront type job, or a 9-5. but if you take some of the more eccentric options, like say a potions maker, enchanter, arithmancer etc etc (basically anything w freelancing potential) OR something like, gringotts that canonically takes non-humans, then i feel like this reason starts to fall apart a bit
which takes me right back to my confusion about his condition lol like his secrecy was most probably like a double edged sword but it did give him the freedom to sort of navigate society & choose life on his own terms, to a very large extent, but he never seems to do that. just. baffling.
#i do get the doylist interpretations for why he was the way he wa tbf#he needed to show a certain image of the āwerewolfā#i just feel like#it doesnāt fit w what we know of *remus* in particular#it might very well be true for werewolves in general#but this man. w all the advantages he had.#if heās still having to resort to the same kind of existence and the same reasonsā#then what good did any of it do.#and does it mean that even werewolves w such a high level of assimilation can never get anywhere in life?#because thatās a narrative that..#is kinda upsetting ngl#but yeah. thatās where iām coming from haha#ahhh iām sorry for how passionate iām getting ab this lol#itās just been niggling at me for a long time and itās all coming out at once rn#penās asks

Well....
I seem to have found my new fixation.
But it's not Pokemon.
It's something else entirely.
Back in 2022, I had a similar bout of art/writer's block. I found a random plot generator and started getting stuff...
I eventually ended up with this;
I was hooked.
(That's old art from '22 btw)
First off, I have to say that while the story itself covers very heavy and dark topics, this post here doesn't have anything like that. So here you're safe, and I will of course apply all the necessary warnings and tags going forward! ^^
I fixated hard on that story, writing up a loose outline of basically all of it. And thankfully, I wrote most of my best ideas down, because, as tends to happen, the fixation faded after a while.
I came so close to starting it on DA back then--A prologue comic ready and everything. But I fell just shy of the courage I needed to actually publish it.
Well, now I've fallen in love with it all over again... with a new life.
I've taken the wolves' story, and merged them. :>
The characters are gonna be my plush wolf fellows/werewolves. This does mean their wolfiness will probably fall second banana to everything else going on, but... I want it to be, darn it. I'm having way too much fun with the idea! XD
Anyway, I have concept arts!
Here we have Timber (gray haired man), one of the wolves I mentioned here and the druid in this story, and Eirwen (white wolf/young girl), who is the Necromancer. :>
And the staff... One of my personal favorite new additions...
It's a creature called a Staffwyrm.
Instead of magical staves, mages in this world get magical creatures. :3
Staffwyrms are a breed of dragon specially bred to assist mages in channeling their magic. A mage acquires an egg and incubates it; meanwhile, the hatchling reads the magical signature of its soon-to-be master, morphing to appear like a branch from a symbolically relevant tree. However that symbolism applies is up to the powers that be. :)
Staffwyrms are highly attuned to the wishes of their master, and can instinctively stiffen to meet their needs. A hook to climb or grab something? Of course! A sturdy step to reach something or see higher? Might take some figuring out, but they got you! A backscratcher? Sure, why not!
A loyal pet and companion? Absolutely. <3
@puzzled-zebra commented that it had a boop button, so I had to. X3
Anyway, I've been having a lot of fun cooking up this story again. As sad as I am to apparently be taking a true break from Pokemon stuff, I'm very proud of this story and happy to have something to muse about. ^^

I finished The Quarry! 8 hours for my first playthrough and I got 18/40 achievements along the way. To 100% it will require a few more total playthroughs (some of the achievements are blocked by getting others, so need their own playthrough) but I'm looking forward to seeing the other ways that everything can work out!
I made a few decisions that resulted in me completely not getting the results I expected, lol.
SPOILERS, if anybody cares š
I saved Laura and cured her of the werewolf infection but apparently didn't have as good a relationship with Travis as I thought I did so he locked her up at the end.
I cured Max but got him killed by Werewolf Caleb by trying to swim to land. š«¤ Emma was killed by Werewolf Max and was the first to die. I let Ryan bleed to death rather than become a werewolf because I honestly thought he was going to be revealed as bad. I thought he had deliberately hung up on calling 911 early in the game and lied about it, which was a clue to his true nature. Instead, oops, the phone really had been cut right then? Sorry, dude. š¤·āāļø
Werewolf Nick killed Jacob in the cages because at that point I thought I was inevitably going to get everybody killed and figured I might as well go for that achievement. So I let Jacob be killed and then eventually realized I had too many infected werewolves by that time and they don't die so... oops. Killed you for nothing, Jacob, my bad. š«¤š I accidentally got Kaitlyn killed by failing the shooting QTE and I guess that was Werewolf Caleb who killed her? (Or was it Werewolf Silas? I dunno, doesn't matter, my girl was werewolf chow and that made me so sad. š)
Dylan and Nick survived as werewolves. Abigail, Laura and Travis all survived as humans. Everybody else ā ļø
Characters I came to love by the end:
Dylan
I thought he was going to be the sorta stereotypical wisecracking annoying guy the whole way through and instead you discover he has a heart beneath all of the wisecracks. I love him, your honor! š
Kaitlyn
Very similar to Dylan, she proved to have a lot more heart than I expected. I started playing her with her most sympathetic options and wow, my opinion on her completely changed from the initial one. I love her, your honor! š
Laura
My badass queen, right here. Love, love, looooove her! I knew we'd see her again in the game at some point after the start and she did NOT disappoint. I seriously wanted the ending where she and Travis work together as well as her getting to meet Max again after he was cured. Definitely going to try for that next! š
Max
I had a lot of sympathy for Max. He didn't want to disappoint Laura, he was devastated when he realized he had hurt her after turning werewolf the first time, and he generally was just trying to be a good guy going through some terrible circumstances. Love him and I love him with Laura. š
Travis
Yeahhh, it's Ted Raimi. I'ma love him no matter what, lol. And yep, I can quite easily get aboard the Laura x Travis ship right along side the Laura x Max one. I contain multitudes, what can I tell you? šš
I was worried about the level of blood/gore and found it to be not nearly as graphic as I thought it might be. Granted, you get a lot of people ending up splattered in blood so if that's not your thing, be wary of that. The werewolf kills/attacks weren't as graphic as I thought they might've been, so that was good (Kaitlyn's was the worst but at least it wasn't all in-your-face torture p0rn or the like; I just hated it because I didn't want her to die ššš). Of course, everybody's tolerance for things like that can be different AND there might be more graphic attacks that I just didn't encounter in this playthrough.
Also, the werewolf transformation scenes were some of the most interesting, if, um, wet šthat I've ever seen. Basically, the werewolf bursts out of the human. I also thought the werewolf design was unique, though they kinda looked like very angry hairless cats to me, lol. š¤·āāļøš
Something also worth mentioning is the fact that you can't manually save, it only auto-saves at certain points. The game is very insistent that you can't go back and change your mind on your choices in your first playthrough. After finishing it, you get the option to do 3 "death rewinds" in subsequent playthroughs, where you can get the option to try to undo a character death.
Since I'm somebody who can get stressed out by feeling like I don't want to make a mistake... I had to get over that right away. You also get chapter selects after you finish the first game, so I'm hoping to be able to be able to utilize those 2 mechanics to be able to get all of the achievements I want without having to keep restarting the game over and over. Maybe not everyone will be bothered by that but I thought I should mention it, just in case.
Once I got past my "But what if I'm making the wrong choice???" fears (hint: I probably was, lol), I appreciated having to just stick to the consequences and see it through. š
So, in summary: I found this to be a lot of fun to play, there seems to be a TON of outcomes that you can get, I still suck at Quicktime events but am a little better than at the start, and I'm looking forward to playing through again several more times! šš

I have some questions about omegas when they go feral so please bear with me.
-how much control over it does the omega have? Both in triggering it and during it.
-is it only triggered when pups are endangered? Can it be triggered if a pack in general or the wolf themselves are in danger no matter the presence of pups?
-can it be triggered by perceived danger like a panic attack or ptsd?
-how dangerous exactly is a feral omega? Like obviously it makes them more aggressive but does it make them stronger or tougher in any way? Is it comparable to adrenaline, allowing the omega to push their body to their true limits?
-with the adrenaline comparison does it suppress pain in the same way? When it ends does it have the same sort of crash, leaving the omega tired, sore, and in pain, etc?
-when does it end? Is it a matter of time? So even if a battle is quickly won you still have a pissed-off omega that needs to run through the woods for a while? Or does it end when the omega feels the danger has passed?
-can anything calm down an omega early?
-are there any other instincts that are triggered by it? Like feeling extra protective or clingy of any pups soon after or other behavioral changes?
-and more of a general question about omegas. Besides being generally more submissive but able to fight and protect if need be, what else about omegas makes them particularly well-suited to pup care? Like obviously they have a particular draw to them but are they especially tuned on to the needs of pups? Perhaps they have some herding instinct for rounding up excited pups? Maybe their larger size allows them to carry multiple pups on their back?
Thank you for taking a look at my questions! I hope it's not to much but the worldbuilding in this game is utterly fascinating to me!
Hello, thank you so much for this ask! It is very interesting and it was a delight to answer.
So, Omegas basically go into rage mode only to defend pack members, weaker/injured ones or pups. It may be triggered by life or death situation for the omega, too. (Omega MC did go into rage when they were captured and decimated the djinns that eventually managed to capture them. But MC at that time was malnourished and suffering from loneliness and overall sick).
It may, theoretically, be triggered by a very vivid and intense panic attack, though it is a rare occurance- mainly because not many werewolves end up as traumatised as MC is.
The situation must be incredibly stressful for it to be triggered, and it isn't something that happens at will. The wolf might feel their ears ring, their body heat up or tingle, and they might shake, and then their minds kind of go blank as they rage.
The rage makes them stronger, faster, overall a killing machine. Like adrenaline but tenfold in effect. And yes, most of the time the rage doesn't end until the Omega is absolutely exhausted and cannot even stand. It does help with pain, but as you theorised the pain later comes back (though mostly the omega is barely coherent after a rage). Just if the omega was injured - which is difficult to do with a feral one.
The rage ends when the threat ends, but since those are triggered by very severe threats, oftentimes as I said the wolf is injured or barely able to stand after the rage. If they are not, they experience a 'crash' that leaves them dizzy, confused, aggressive but very weak.
(More in part 2!)

NONFICTION BOOK ANNOUNCEMENT - The Werewolf: Past and Future now available in HARDBACK!
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT - my popular nonfiction werewolf book (on folklore and many things besides), The Werewolf: Past and Future - Lycanthropy's Lost History and Modern Devolution, is now available in hardback, in addition to paperback and ebook/digital!
Click here to purchase on Amazon.com!
Also check out the many pics of it in this post (plus the book received cat approval; pics included)! Note that pictures are, obviously, of a proof copy.
The book is very good quality! I'm impressed! You won't be disappointed. The hardcover is nice and hefty without being bulky, and the spine is sturdy and lovely.
And best of all, the book comes kitty certified, inspected by Ty Beanie Baby (yes, that is his name) himself.
He gave it a sniff.
And even honored it with a rub. Clearly it's a good book. And it didn't fall over! It's very sturdy.
(Disclaimer: He did just want treats afterward, as he cannot read. Treats and pettings were of course given.)
Synopsis:
Since before recorded history, werewolves have captivated human imagination. Simultaneously, they represent our deepest fears as well as our desire to connect with our primal ancestry. Today, werewolves are portrayed negatively, associated with violence, cruelty, cannibalism, and general malevolence. However, in ages past, legends depicted them not as monsters, but as a range of neutral to benevolent individuals, such as traveling companions, guardians, and knights. The robust legacy of the werewolf spans from prehistory, through ancient Greece and Rome, to the Middle Ages, into the Early Modern period, and finally into present-day popular culture. Over the ages, the view of the werewolf has become distorted. Media treatment of werewolves is associated with inferior writing, lacking in thought, depth, and meaning. Werewolves as characters or creatures are now generally seen as single-minded and one-dimensional, and they want nothing more than to kill, devour, and possibly violate humans. Hollywood depictions have resulted in the destruction of the true meanings behind werewolf legends that fascinated and terrified humans for so many ages. If these negative trends were reversed, perhaps entertainment might not only discover again some of the true meanings behind the werewolf myth, but also take the first steps toward reversing negative portrayals of wolves themselves, which humans have, for eons, wrongfully stigmatized and portrayed as evil, resulting in wolves receiving crueler treatment than virtually any other animal. To revive the many questions posed by lycanthropy, entertainment must show respect to the rich history of so many cultures all around the world ā and rediscover the legend of the werewolf.
Again, be sure to check out the book on Amazon.com!
If you would prefer to buy a signed copy directly from me, I'll have something very fun in store for you in October... along with another surprise: a brand new book! And it's more werewolf nonfiction. My big fiction publication is coming next year, and it's also werewolf-related. It's a great time to love werewolves.
Expect another big announcement soon about a brand new nonfiction werewolf folklore book!
So stay tuned for a whole lot more on the way! Be sure to give me a follow here and elsewhere on social media. I'll also have a newsletter coming very soon that'll help you keep up with my work, and it'll come with free reading!
Until next time, and happy fall!

could you explain briefly how the omegaverse work and why is eddie one? thank you :)
Gladly! I shall break it down as much as possible.
Omegaverse is a take on wolf pack dynamics. This can be literal, with wolf characters or werewolves. It can also be when the characters are fully human or have very distant wolf ancestry.
Thereās Alpha, Beta, Omega, and sometimes non presenters, though not all authors write with non presenters. These are called secondary genders. Primary genders, such as male or female, have no impact on secondary genders in most verses. Non presenters never take a secondary gender or present much later in life. Presentation usually happens in the teen years or the person is born already presented. Presented is another term for secondary puberty, when the secondary gender matures and becomes obvious.
Now I shall keep this post SFW, but I can do an explanation on NSFW too if itās wanted! Just let me know!
The alpha is generally the protective leader, the dominant one, sometimes literally the pack leader. In most fics, they are the partner with most societal pull and authority.
Betas are the neutrals. They make great peacekeepers, healers, advisors. Alphas and omegas are generally affected more by scents and emotions than betas.
Omegas are the caretakers and the heart of the āpackā. Theyāre the quiet engine that make the world go round.
Now, traditionally, alphas seem to take more stereotypical male roles and omegas take more stereotypically female roles, regardless of primary gender. That isnāt always true! But is a common theme.
Let me explain scents real quick. Basically every presented alpha/omega has a distinctive scent. Betas might too, but that varies. Betas also might not be able to smell scents as well as alphas and omegas. These scents can be vague, like smoky, or detailed, like apple pie with a hint of lemon.
((Warning for mention of mpreg: Iāll mark when it ends))
Each dynamic can be any primary gender. Itās up to the author how they want that gender to cross over. Are female alphas able to get omegas pregnant? Can female alphas get pregnant? Can male omegas get pregnant or get someone else pregnant?
((Ends here))
Betas tend to follow the biological rules of primary genders.
((Brief mention of dub-con/non-con as a theme. No graphic description within))
Now, itās worth knowing before anyone non-experienced in A/B/O goes looking that sometimes, dub-con and non-con are themes in fics. Thatās because alphas experience ruts and omegas experience heats and in a rut or a heat, the person canāt consent unless they already established consent beforehand. Theyāre not technically in their right mind.
((Finishes here))
Thatās part of why omegaverse gets a bad rap.
I pride myself in writing fully consensual and enthusiastic A/B/O content, at least between the main ship. Itās absolutely possible to do. Tagging is important! Be sure to utilize filters if you want to avoid stuff when you go looking.
Now, for why I see Eddie as an omega.
It started partially because I donāt see Buck as an omega and I was and still am a Buddie shipper. I definitely saw him as an alpha figure. Itās also partially because of the top/bottom dynamic. Stereotypically, alphas are tops and omegas are bottoms. THIS IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE. You can write it however you want! Thatās how I prefer to write, though.
I see Buck as a top/dom and Eddie as a bottom/sub. That man just needs to let go and get out of his head. He needs to be taken care of and pampered. Buck loves to take care of people and spoil them. Besides, Iām a bit of a slut for a size difference.
I donāt do well in explaining how or why a character is a bottom/omega to me; itās sort of just a feeling. But hopefully, that explains it well enough!
Quick note to add that any dynamic can have any relationship. Alpha/alpha, alpha/beta, beta/beta, beta/omega, omega/omega are all alternatives to the classic alpha/omega pairing.
I did the best I could, but please let me know if you have further questions!
Edit to add: heās canonically a nester and while that means something different in A/B/Oā¦VINDICATION

šššššššššššā¦ šš šššš šššš
šššššššš ššššššššš, ššššš šššššš
ā Tabby had known her whole life that there were werewolves in Beacon Hills. However, this knowledge wasnāt due to any terrifying encounter she had had with the local wolves as a child or sixth sense that only she possessed - Tabby knew because she came from a family of witches, ones who had lived in the small California town since it was just young, and who had kept themselves and their magic so secret that even the wolves had no idea who they shared the town with anymore, if they ever had at all.
And Tabby was certainly skilled at following her familyās devotion to secrecy and keeping her knowledge, and what she truly was, unknown to everyone else. Naturally socially awkward and prone to tripping over nothing but air in front of large groups of people, she had gone through most of her life with no true friends and only a handful of people she could nod to when she passed them in the halls. Her parents insisted that this was a good thing, better for helping her keep the secret of their witch-hood, but it had never stopped her from longing for deeper connections, for some friends she could talk to late into the night and who would be impressed when she showed off the cool new defensive spell sheād been working on instead of critiquing her pronunciation and hand movements.
When Allison Argent arrived in Beacon Hills, Tabby only found that want for connection increasing, but in a very different way than usual - Allison was easily the most beautiful girl sheād ever seen, and in true Tabby fashion, sheād taken one look at the schoolās newest arrival and immediately started fantasizing about what to name their future children. However, also in true Tabby fashion, she couldnāt bring herself to actually approach Allison directly and was too afraid of Lydia Martin, who had taken the new girl under her wing, to try and get close to her through a friend group, so ever having a conversation with the object of her affections seemed impossible - until, at least, Tabby realized that Scott McCall, a shy boy whom Allison seemed to have taken an interest in, had suddenly gained that certain aura and scent of damp earth and moonlight that her parents had taught her to associate with werewolves.
Seizing her opportunity to get closer to Allison - and to finally learn more about the species her parents have always warned her to stay away from in order to keep their secret - Tabby approaches Scott and his dorky, energetic best friend and offers to use her magic to assist him in figuring out his newfound lycanthropy (revealing the Aquino family secret and thus breaking her familyās biggest rule as a result, but thereās a pretty girl involved so what is she supposed to do?). She promptly proves to be rather terrible at it, of course, fumbling her attempts to help as she fumbles most things, but being involved in Scottās werewolf adventures seems to be gaining her both friends and the attention of the most beautiful girl in town, so she also canāt say sheās complaining.
Well, when Scott actually starts to be in danger and his grumpy older werewolf mentor dies a bunch of times, then she might complain a little. But perhaps this whole supernatural debacle may be a chance for Tabby to perfect her magic, finally be part of a friend group like sheās always wantedā¦ and hopefully stop tripping over her feet and her tongue long enough to get the girl. ā

Noble OCs - Ceresthalassa
More OCs from one of my four original noble clans, the Ceresthalassa! They are the Clan of the Earthshakers and their current Clan Leader is Doris Ceresthalassa, whose heir is her daughter Marina Ceresthalassa. Their clanās soul weapon is trident Eulises.
For complete info please check out the link below:
(Just a quick note, everyone is a noble here. There are no hybrids. In my headcanons āpurebloodā and ānon-purebloodā are just terms that nobles use with each other to broadly describe how affiliated someone is with their own clan. And I say ābroadlyā because there is much more to it and I think it deserves a post of its own. For now āpurebloodā can be seen as a āstrong enough and qualified to inherit the clanās soul weapon and become Clan Leaderā and ānon-purebloodā as āan ordinary clan memberā kind of thing. And being either has little to do with lineage and more of just the individual itself. Again, definitely posting more on that in the future)
Straight to the characters.
Pangu Ceresthalassa: Pureblood. Entered eternal sleep, belonged to the ancient generations.
Pangu was one of the very first Ceresthalassa Clan Leaders in history. He might even be his clanās most powerful member to have ever existed. The old noble legends say that he was the one who directly contributed to Lukedoniaās formation, and that is true. He manipulated and shifted the earth beneath him into what would eventually become the perfect home for his kind. There are also stories and myths in the human world that depict Pangu as the primordial being and deity who created the world. Pangu himself would be flattered to hear that heās viewed as a cosmic superpower if he were still alive. Ooh, how catchy. Planet Earthās existence precedes his own, so eh, not quite, though a cool title is still a cool title. And a very welcome one too, lol. The humans didnāt worship him for no reason; Pangu did achieve incredible feats in the eyes of mankind. Lukedonia wasnāt the only land he ācreatedā. Pangu took pity on the inhabitants of the world who struggled to survive, so he rearranged many parts of the planet to be more hospitable for life and paved the way for all species to thrive. He gave them food and shelter, and left the rest to them in hopes that they would be able to develop on their own.
And they did. The humans are an obvious example, and Panguās name lives to this day. Meanwhile the werewolves worship and thank their own goddess, Mother Moon, for the gifts she bestowed upon them. Thatās the legend they pass down from generation to generation, but it was actually Pangu and his descendants who created werewolf herbs as part of their mission on Earth. The werewolves would say thatās false, because no way the origin of their prized herbs have anything to do with nobles. Pangu wouldnāt mind as long as everyoneās doing well; the credit can go to someone else. Pangu used the full extent of his powers for good throughout his lifetime and eventually succumbed to exhaustion. Constantly using his powers on a massive scale took a toll on his body and mind, and while he couldāve lived for longer, he decided that it was time to say goodbye. Before Pangu passed, he entrusted his successor with the mission of being natureās guardian in his stead. And his successor would pass that ideology to his successors, thus the prominence of the mentality of āmust dedicate ourselves to natureā among Ceresthalassa Clan Leaders and clan members. Panguās selflessness and kindness would continue to live through his many descendants. However, circumstances have changed since the world entered the modern era. Recent Ceresthalassa Clan Leaders have to adjust their approach because intelligent species are not as good-natured as they were before. Panguās creation of an ideal environment has allowed both good and evil to manifest. Would Pangu be saddened if he time traveled and saw all the conflict, pollution, destruction, and extinction in the modern world? Perhaps, but he wouldnāt regret devoting himself to this place. He loved Earth too much. That is the kind of man he was.
While Pangu was a fairly busy man and free time was a luxury to him, he did have some hobbies. One of them was learning transfiguration spells. He loved all things nature. The land, the water, the wind, the trees, the animalsā¦ he loved being around them just as much as being them. Pangu was an excellent spell caster and one of his many talents was transforming himself into different things and then blending himself into the background. Poof and heās gone. He could be a deer, a bird, a flower, or a rock. He could also be a cloud, a butterfly, or a tree stump. Pangu often teased his children by turning himself into a twig or something and they would cry and run around trying to look for their father. Finding him was impossible because he basically changed not only his appearance but also his aura to match his surroundings. Then heād release himself from the spell, turn back into himself, and shout āPapaās here!ā while pulling his children into a big hug. Pangu also did this to prank his clan members whenever they went looking for him. It was quite funny to see them crane their necks to the sky and shout āClan Leader?? Is that you???ā at a random cloud. Nah, fellas. Canāt you see that Iām the squirrel on this tree right here? Well of course you wouldnāt know, because my spell is perfect. Mhm. Again, Pangu would turn back into himself when heās had enough fun. Sigh. They canāt get him to not play hide-and-seek. Heās always winning anyway, how is he not bored yet?!
Panguās other hobby was sleeping. To be precise, napping at random intervals. Using his powers all the time took out big chunks of his energy, and while nobles donāt require sleep to function, itās nice to simply feel time flow in peace and quiet. Pangu would cast a spell on himself so heās in deep sleep, and nothing can wake him up before time is up and the spell wears off by itself. Pangu often joked about how this is the opportunity for people with grudges against him to come over and slap him across the face all they want because he wouldnāt know anyway. Free facial massage for me, even better! Ho ho! Hey, cāmon, that was a good one, why arenāt yāall laughing?
Pangu had two children. His eldest became Clan Leader after him.
To this day, members of the Ceresthalassa Clan put offerings in front of Panguās statue for good luck.
Khumbo Ceresthalassa: Non-pureblood. Nephew of Tabitha Pyradros. Alive in the present day, belongs to the Previous Lordās generation.
Khumbo is earnest and disciplined. He takes great pride in being organized, and likes to stick to his plans. Heād make a plan, and a backup plan, and a backup plan for his backup plan, and so on. Khumbo is usually calm, but sometimes freaks out when something goes astray. His job is weather control and he oversees several fields of food grown by the Ceresthalassa Clan. Khumbo is good at weather manipulation and his specialty is generating rainclouds. Heās very serious about his job, and once he went to his Clan Leader Doris crying about how he has to resign because heās incompetent and irresponsible. A very confused Doris managed to figure out what he was saying through all that intense sobbing, and turns out his raincloud generated one milliliter more of rainwater than he had planned for the tomato fieldās watering, and now he thinks his life as a weather controller is over and the crops are all going to die. He kept going on about how he has never made a mistake in his entire career until now, and heās too ashamed to continue to work for the clan. It took Doris and Khumboās colleagues some time to calm him down and convince him that itās okay and he should just relax, because no one needs to be that accurate. Khumbo took that as a literal order and on his daily to-do list, he has āRelaxā written in bold as the first thing up there. Well, thatās one way of interpreting it for sure.
Khumboās dedication doesnāt stop there. He checks every single vegetable in the field and takes note of any differences between them, then meticulously evaluates the individual patches of soil underneath to spot even the slightest deviations from the intended uniform moisture, acidity, salinity, etc. Again, he ended up going to Doris crying about how turns out he has to resign anyway because one tomato was smaller and less red than the rest, and that mustāve been his fault. Doris had to remind him that plants naturally come in different colors, shapes and sizes. Oh right, forgot about that. Heās just really trying to do a good job. Someone give him a pat on the back.
Khumboās hobby is bird-watching. He loves to observe all kinds of birds in their natural habitats, and heās very happy because Lukedonia has a lot of them. He has a sketchbook where he draws the birds while he watches them from a distance. His favorites are herons and other aquatic birds. He hopes that his future children will treasure this sketchbook just as much as him, because nature is full of wonders and one should take time to experience it in the fullest.
Khumboās partner is an unnamed Kravei.
Diantha Ceresthalassa: Pureblood. Great-grandmother of Doris Ceresthalassa. Entered eternal sleep, belonged to the ancient generations.
Diantha was a Clan Leader. Like her ancestor Pangu, she was very committed to planet Earth and succeeded the Ceresthalassaās mindset of protecting the environment and all living beings in it. She tended to the land and sea just like her predecessors. Diantha dedicated much of her lifetime seeking to improve the quality of life for Earthās inhabitants, and one of her greatest achievements was enhancing werewolf welfare. She loved humans too, but werewolves had a special place in her heart. To her, they are the most beautiful people in existence. Maybe even more so than her own kind, the nobles. Diantha couldnāt explain why, but she felt very strongly about it and her feelings towards the werewolves couldāve even been unconditional love.
Diantha had some talent for earth-shifting as well, just not quite at her ancestor Panguās level, though he is probably an outlier anyway. Dianthaās one true talent was creating herbs. She figured out a way for werewolves to have portable access to medicine, nutritional supplements, and more. Pangu may have started it, but Diantha was the one who perfected it. Diantha used her powers to make special plants that responded to the aura of werewolves. These special plants only grow near werewolf settlements. If a werewolf clan collectively abandons their home, they die out in that region. Instead, they sprout in the clanās new home once they settle down. You can say these plants know to āfollowā the werewolves wherever they go. The presence of a single werewolf is enough to get these plants to grow in nearby soil, though theyād appear in bigger numbers if there are more werewolves, which marks the advantage of a populated clan. This gift would later be known as Mother Moonās herbs. Today, theyāre staples for curing illnesses, boosting nutrition, temporarily heightening senses, numbing pain, and many other important functions.
Diantha interacted with werewolves on a regular basis, though she always disguised herself by manipulating her aura and appearance so that she looked like one of them. Her disguise gave her silver hair and silver eyes; the same shade of silver as the beautiful, shining moon. Despite her humbleness, the werewolves were able to recognize this mysterious woman as the one who blessed them with herbs. When they asked for her name, she panicked and pointed to the sky because she didnāt know how to respond. The werewolves interpreted it as āI come from the moonā, hence the title Mother Moon. Diantha somehow accidentally became the werewolvesā goddess who descended from the sky. Well, too late to back out now, might as well live up to it. Once every decade, Diantha visited werewolf clans across the world in her usual disguise. She played with the children and explained to the adults the full extent of each herbās functions. They all believed that she was a real goddess from the moon, and why wouldnāt they? They had every reason to. Unfortunately, the werewolves never got to see their Mother Moon again after Diantha passed, as none of her descendants continued with this tradition. Her herbs are everywhere, but she is gone forever. The werewolves assume she went back to the moon. They are hopeful that she will bless them with her presence again someday. Some of the younger werewolves think that their elders are crazy for saying that Mother Moon is real and not just a personification. Well, what can I say except seeing is believing.
Dianthaās partner was an unnamed Ru.
Mian-Hua Ceresthalassa: Non-pureblood. Wife of Rubino Elenor, mother of Rozaria Elenor. Alive in the present day, belongs to the Previous Lordās generation.
Mian-Hua is gentle yet firm. While she lets her husband Rubino enjoy himself with his pranks, she never hesitates to reprimand him whenever he takes it a bit too far. Rubinoās pranks are all harmless, just annoying to those who donāt really share his sense of humor. Mian-Hua does think itās very entertaining to watch Rubino run wild with his mischievousness, just that sheād be the one apologizing to the receiving end because someone has to be polite. Mian-Hua was the one who apologized to Edian when her husband cast a chipmunk voice spell on her which caused her to not speak for half the day because she was too embarrassed to open her mouth. And that time when Rubino used a superglue spell and slapped a colorful toupee on Lagusā bald head, except maybe that doesnāt really count because the latter actually took a liking to it and kept it there until it fell off. Well, guess there is some good in his tricks. When wife and husband go home at the end of the day, theyād laugh about the dayās highlights. Their household is lively, and their little daughter Rozaria would grow up in a warm, loving environment.
Mian-Hua is a professional cellist. She is a member of Marinaās orchestra and regularly performs at the grand concert hall of Lukedonia. Rubino would cheer for his beloved wife from the very first row though heād get shushed by his fellow audience for making too much noise. Rozaria probably stepped in at times too and covered her fatherās mouth with her hand whenever he got too carried away. He canāt help it, he just adores his wife so much! Mian-Hua can hear him from the stage and she appreciates his enthusiasm just as much as sheās physically cringing at it. Well, heās too cute, so sheāll let it slide. Mian-Hua also likes to perform solo. One of her favorite activities is sitting on the beach on a stormy, rainy day and playing her cello to the raging waters. The sound of nature is her orchestra. Her cello is protected with a moisture repellent spell, of course, because her husband gave it to her as a courting gift when they were young teens in love, and she treasures this instrument with all her soul. Mian-Hua misses Rubino very much since he entered eternal sleep with the Previous Lord. She would imagine that the sea is him, and dedicates a song to him every year on their anniversary at the beach where they first met. Sometimes the Ceresthalassa sea monsters would gather by the shore and listen to Mian-Huaās cello playing, and thatād get them into music. Some of them even ended up joining the orchestra. Mian-Hua has a starfish monster buddy named Robert who joined the orchestra because he was intrigued by her performance, and at some point decided to learn the clarinet for himself. Marina aināt complaining. Her orchestra grows by the day. The more the merrier!
Mian-Huaās other hobby is cleaning and purifying coral reefs. Like Doris and Marina, Mian-Hua loathes modern pollution and blames the humans for it. Every other day, she dives into the water and uses her noble powers to reverse damage caused by contamination. Mian-Hua isnāt a pureblood, so she doesnāt have the ability to cast purification spells on a large scale. She has to do them one by one. Still, she thinks her contributions mean a lot.
Mian-Hua is currently dating an unnamed Blerster.
Yehonatan Ceresthalassa: Non-pureblood. Not-so-distant relatives with Gradeus. Alive in the present day, belongs to Raskreiaās generation.
Yehonatan is obsessed with beautiful things. He loves his Ceresthalassa ancestors for creating countless marvels, but he also hates them for setting a time limit. You see, Yehonatan only loves things when theyāre still young, fresh, and beautiful. The moment flowers start to wilt, he goes into a fit of rage and destroys them on the spot. Itās almost as if heās taking it personally. He starts dreading their inevitable decay when theyāve only begun to sprout. And no, he doesnāt want fake flowers, he only wants the real deal.
This applies to people as well. As an extrovert, Yehonatan enjoys the company of others. Heās a good friend. But, heāll only stick around for so long, and heāll leave as soon as they show signs of aging: wrinkles, thinning hair, raspy voice, etc. any evidence of a ticking clock. Seeing his friends age terrifies Yehonatan and hurts him to the core, and he has to cut them off or else heāll feel the urge to kill them. Heāll tell them he canāt see them in person anymore but heāll stay in touch with them through letters without giving any sort of explanation whatsoever. Yehonatan has no personal grudges against them, he just canāt stand the loss of beauty. To him, the ideal world is where everything and everyone is forever at their prime and frozen in time. For this reason, he hates autumn and winter because falling leaves and bare branches torment his soul, and he gets so upset he starts to have violent meltdowns. He canāt look at them for two seconds without wanting to strangle himself or someone else, thus he never leaves home during those seasons and only goes outside during spring and summer. People joke about how heās hibernating. Makes sense, heās probably hibernating for his own sanity.
Yehonatan is young now, but he too will grow old one day and when the time comes, heāll probably never go outside again and shut himself in his home until he dies. That, or heāll cover up completely so nothing shows. He thinks anything past its prime is hideous and a disgrace to the world, including his future self.
Yehonatanās hobby is using his aura to create holographic projections of everything he loves, and he seals them in small artifacts so he can replay them whenever he desires. He collects these items as a way for him to stay connected to the world once he decides he doesnāt deserve to be a part of it anymore; when his youth leaves him one day and he has no choice but to condemn himself to eternal self-exile.
Yehonatan is currently single and has not thought about dating yet.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned for future posts!

I have been following you for a while because you have verbalized very eloquently some of the things I felt were wrong with the Fandom without really being able to put my finger on it.
I especially like your criticism of Peter.
Which brought up a question that I have been wondering for a bit.
In season 5 Lydia could free Mason from the beast because of her banshee powers. Which made sense with the lore. But recently I was reminded of the final of season 2. Where Lydia was able to bring Jackson back to (semi-) human so he could be killed and ascend to werewolfness.
Now the reason that is stated in the show was that they are in true love. Which is never again brought up and even later refuted in a conversation between Lydia and Allison (were Lydia says she has never felt anything like Allison).
But if I remember correctly then it was Peter that said that Lydia could do it through love (might be rembering wrong tho).
Now my question is, do you believe that it could have been a part of Lydia's banshee powers manifesting that brought Jackson back? If yes, do you believe that Peter knew that this was what was happening?
Because that would be huge. Especially in terms of his stans always claiming he is always willing to share information.
One of the worst things about fandom is how much it misses when, in its enthusiasm, it focuses on applying exterior tropes to a story in which they don't fit. Teen Wolf lampshaded the principles behind its storytelling frequently, but the fandom, so invested in seeing a completely different story, just ignored those instances.
Let's take your example: Lydia was able to partially free Jackson from the kanima state and how she was able to free Mason from the artificial possession by The Beast. In my opinion, it was fully justified by the show because it conformed to the principles established within the narrative. In this case, there are four principles, which I will go over.
The evolution of truth into legend. Jennifer summarized this in Alpha Pact (3x11): "Argentā¦ The French word for silver. Ah, ah, ah. Interesting how truth becomes altered by legendā¦ When it's not actually the metal silver that kill werewolves but the family." There are truths in the supernatural world but like many things in history, they have been obscured by the passage of time or by the agenda of those writing history. In this case, there is indeed a myth that you can cure a werewolf by calling out its Christian name. In the show's universe, this turns out to be partially true, but it's not just anyone who can do this. Lydia's voice is powerful enough to achieve this result, but so is Scott's. Remember, he calms down a raging Isaac twice in Unleashed (3x04) and Frayed (3x05) and an angry Kira in a Credible Threat (5x17). How? Well, that goes into the second principle.
Identity is important to the supernatural. The saying "the shape you take reflects the person that you are" is repeated often enough throughout the series for us to comfortably use it as a lens through which to view the action. Again, Jennifer seems to give us some insight, though this time in The Overlooked (3x10): "It's a way of not completely letting go of your identity, since your name is so tied to your sense of self." When Lydia and Scott cause others to revert, they are empowering who their targets actually are, allowing them to resist the supernatural power threatening to overwhelm them. As evidence, the most inhuman and inscrutable of the enemies in Teen Wolf have no real names to speak of. The nogitsune and the anuk-ite are types of creatures; actual names seem unimportant to them. The Dread Doctors shed their identities through masks and generic titles (the Surgeon, the Pathologist, the Geneticist). The Wild Hunt is a force of nature, and it increases its power by erasing the identities of others.
However, sometimes the name isn't enough. Why? Emotional connection is a component of supernatural power. A werewolf is out of control until it finds an anchor. The sacrificial ritual required an object with meaning to find the parents, and it required an emotional tether to pull them back. Scott found the strength to break the Berserker skull when Liam reminded him of their bond. Sebastien was distracted by what he felt for Marie-Jean and Scott felt for Allison. Stiles was summoned from the Wild Hunt when people re-established their emotional connections to him. Jackson didn't revert from the kanima state because it was a banshee who called his name; he reverted because of the emotional connection he had with that particular banshee, whom he felt a connection to so much he gave her a key to his house. As another aside, Jackson is mostly uninterested in the goings on during the movie, but he's always there. Where is he? With Lydia. Even though he's with Ethan now, the emotional connection to her still exists.
Yet, why wasn't this principle always clearly known by the characters? Well, there's another principle for that. Peter Hale is a lying liar who lies. He's a con artist, and con artists are known for presenting information in a precise way to get what they want. He obviously knew what Lydia was -- she was his back-up plan -- but he just waxed lyrical about the 'power of human love' because he didn't want to share that information with Derek just yet. He stressed the ruthlessness needed against Berserkers at the end of season 4, because he needed to keep the others focused on survival, not their emotional connection to Scott. He relented in 6B because he realized that the daughter he wanted to protect had created an emotional connection -- however short-lived -- with Scott, but he hid that information.
Lots of people like to be critical about Teen Wolf with the excuse that the writers were making it up as they go along. I personally reject this because I feel we were supposed to come to the story through the teen-age point of view; like them, we didn't have all the information and that was part of the payoff of the show. As for "making it up," maybe they did and maybe they didn't. It doesn't really matter because in the end, the show remained consistent in its storytelling by adhering to the principles it clearly established.
It's not a plot hole if the audience doesn't like the rules by which the story operates or the audience couldn't bother to pay attention to them in the first place. I hope this answered your question.

What are all the confirmed/mentioned pantheons and who/what kind of people follow each one? I love that all the religions(?) are true at the same time. It's my favourite. :)
I also wanted to ask how you felt about people using your world of Midnight, but writing in their own characters? I want to, but felt I should ask first. (With credits given, of course.)
:)
God I am so fascinated by religions and their effects on society, but all the war and fighting that comes with it is so exhausting. So coexisting simultaneously-true religions was just like "yeah!! Whoo! Best of all worlds!" bc I get to explore the differences in the religions and beliefs and all that without being like "religion is bs" or "only one religion is true." I lowkey always worry that someone might think I'm actually promoting religion (hi guys atheist/nonreligious here I am just super interested in the cultural aspects of religions thank you) so I'm glad people have been receiving the Pantheons thing positively <3
As for the confirmed Pantheons we have, there's Fate (which is The Big Pantheon), the Fae Pantheon, the Death Pantheon, the Watcher's Pantheon, the Old Pantheon, and I think??? I may have mentioned it but I don't know if I deleted it but there's also Creation and Destruction (which is The First and The Last, The Beginning and The End). Nobody follows the Fate Pantheon because every living thing- including gods- is bound from the moment of birth to it, and no one follows Creation and Destruction as they are Already Gone and Inevitable. I swear if I forgot to at least mention Creation in passing... but Creation was like THE first Pantheon at the beginning of time itself, the only Pantheon older than it is Fate (as the Creation god is also bound to Fate). The Old Pantheon is a mostly-defunct Pantheon now, but it was the Pantheon that came after the fall of the Ancients and when they first started rebuilding. Can't wait to talk about what happens when a Pantheon fully dies out... cue me glancing at Grian's dream from Midnight Flux... Oh! And I mentioned before when talking about the Werewolves' evolution story but the Sun and Moon also have their own associated gods and Pantheons. There's no Life Pantheon, that one will be explained later :)
Of course there are also Listeners, but I haven't really mentioned them. There's a lot of very small and minor Pantheons as well, but the ones mentioned above are The Big Ones.
You'll notice there's no Pantheon of Time mentioned here :)
As for who follows what, we have;
Death Pantheon: Mumbo, Cleo, BDubs, Cub, Doc, all Vampires in general, Phil, Tommy, Wilbur, Fundy; in general it's followed by Vampires and Undead Mob hybrids (for example, if Cleo wasn't a Vampire she'd still follow this Pantheon as a Zombie) and lower deities (such as Angels of Death and Harbingers and Reapers)
Watcher Pantheon: Grian, Jimmy, Scott (kind of- his is a little... complicated), Pearl; in general it's followed mostly by people born into it. There's casual and extremist groups, and it's considerably exclusive, the only way to join as an outsider is to be brought in by an existing member.
Fae Pantheon: Scar, Tubbo, Lizzie, Cub, BDubs, all Fae in general (with the exception of Joel); it's a Pantheon only available to the Fae and the Natural children they claim. Grian and Mumbo would not have access to it even if they marry Scar.
Old Pantheon: None of the main characters, but Mumbo and Tubbo were both born into this Pantheon. They've both since left it behind. Less than a thousand members are left of this Pantheon. This was one people were just born into, a sort of Defaultā¢ until people began (re)discovering other gods.
Moon's Pantheon: Ren, Werewolves in general; anyone can convert to worshiping the Moon God
Listener's Pantheon: Martyn; you HAVE to be born into the Listener's Pantheon, no exceptions.
No Pantheon/Unknown Pantheon: Joel, Gem, Etho, Iskall, Scar's Father; To have no Pantheon at all means to just never swear yourself to any one Pantheon. Changelings are the only Fae who aren't inherently tied to the Fae Pantheon, being a group of Fae who often never find out they're Fae.
BONUS ROUND- The Void, which was worshiped by Boatem's founders. While the Void's Pantheon is mostly dead now, the Void itself has found its way into most other Pantheons. Some Pantheons, such as the Fae, have nothing to do whatsoever with the Void.
I've spent way too long on this so if you have any questions about anyone else/anyone specific, feel free to ask <3 I have just spent wayyy too much thinking about this XD
As for writing within the world of Midnight, I absolutely don't mind at all! It's like having fic written about your world :o I think that'd be so cool~ And also now you got me wondering where my little character would fit in all this... hmm š
#ask#Midnight Series#if anyone ever writes anything set in this little world I've created I would love to see it :o#LONG POST#I spent too long on this#but I hope I've answered this in a satisfying way#MidnightLore

Junior wants OUT of the criminal career and the church, which frankly, scares him. (There are multiple fictional churches in my game. Most are not scary, this one just happens to be)
The 2 gods, Nezerity (I used a fake name generator of some sort) and The Great Llama, terrify him. (Or more precisely their interpretation of them terrifies him)
Right now the church is painfully low on numbers and while they want it to stay relatively small, for reasons, they also want to keep it going, and keep it going within certain families. So youāre expected to have children for the church. And they must have private or prep school training.
They are queerphobic. They hateĀ werewolves, plantsims, aliens, mannequins, and zombies (though can you blame them on the zombies?). They love vampires and are more than willing to use evil magic/wizardry to achieve whatever ends they want. They are also not against murder.
Women, or whoever they see as women (since I do have sims I consider trans/nonbinary), canāt do many things. (Iām a nonbinary trans man currently medically transitioning. Iām also bisexual. So yes, iāll explore queerphobic stuff in my game if I want to. If you want me to add a tw: of some sort to certain posts just let me know and I can do that.)
Their goals? Power, money. They love technology, evil magic, whatever they can use to further their goals.
Seriousness and grouchiness/meanness is encouraged.
They respect the almighty cow plant for it is a gift from The Great Llama.
They donāt really understand the concept of true friendship or love, which is actually very sad.
They are not supposed to have sex outside of marriage and arranged marriage is encouraged (though not required if their chosen mate isĀ āacceptableā or some shit)
Of course not every sim will follow all the rules and people (and sims) are complicated creatures.Ā
So Junior wants OUT of the criminal career and the church, which frankly, scares him, and now you see why. He and his dad Rich argued and fought and now they hate each other. Well, they donāt hate each other, not really, but they might as well.
Junior refuses to stay in the church or the criminal career. He also doesnāt take the threat of being murdered by a church member seriously. You donāt just *leave* this church after all.
Rich will not murder his own son. Why do you think heās so damn angry at Junior? Maybe because, heās scared for him? But he canāt control him either, Junior is his own person.
Rich canāt understand why Junior wants to leave the church or the criminal career. He doesnāt understand him at all. He does however, still love his son and doesnāt want to see him murdered but he also doesnāt know how to show that concern so all they do, is argue.
Sorry thatās long. In my head there is a story for my sims and I donāt feel like I say much, pictures can often say a lot, but sometimes itās needed. And iām only on round 2 so as I get more into it hopefully iāll get more into the stories of the sims.Ā

Ethan Quentin
Age: 17 Birthday: August 29, 1998 Height: 5' 11" (180 cm) Weight: 135 lbs Hair color: Strawberry blond Hair style: down, straight, falls to his ears Eye color: light hazel Lineage: human, born to a hunting family Interests: Sports, camping, running, current events, history, supernaturals Likes: Cheeseburgers, computers, cars, guitar, hard copies, grasshoppers
Appearance: Ethan presents himself as a very stoic and serious individual. He has strawberry blond hair that comes down to his ears and hazel eyes. His build is lean-athletic, and he's very interested in sports. As such, he's very competitive and has a tendency to taunt those he's facing. However, he isn't someone many would describe as arrogant. Ethan's a very calculating and patient individual despite his rare temper.
Abilities: He trains religiously and has a very keen skill for mechanics. He's very inventive and sees opportunities in common items someone might overlook. He's very intuitive as well.
Susceptibilities: Anything that can harm a general person.
Notes: Ethan has never killed a supernatural being before. He does support the idea when justifiable reason, but he's not really malicious towards supernatural beings.
Summary: A high school student. He is a novice supernatural hunter trained by his grandfather after his parents āretired.ā He considers himself to be a very moral person and holds his values very close to him. Ethan believes judgement should not be hasty. However, he wonāt hesitate to jump to action. Heās a very competitive person; likes sports. Particularly, he does well in soccer and hockey. Heās rather disagreeable and reluctant to make friends. āBubblyā people tend to exhaust him. A very devoted individual. Ethan considers himself to be very calculating. He makes his own hunting equipment from sportsgear.
History: Ethan was conceptualized and is loosely based on Teen Wolf lore, specifically the character Garrett. In that series, hunters are based in deeply rooted family lore. The Argent family (the main hunting family of Teen Wolf) trains their sons to be soldiers and daughters to be leaders. This code isn't necessarily true for Ethan's lore, but I like the idea of it. Ethan is based in the US, but I will happily follow lore of other countries and have him crossover to other universes. For example, he would hunt kitsune and demons in a Japanese setting.
Both sides of Ethan's family were heavily involved in hunting supernatural beings, until his parents retired after an unfortunate accident. Roughly fourteen years ago, his parents (along with several other hunters) were involved in a fire designed to slaughter a pack of werewolves. When his parents discovered several of the victims were regular humans living among werewolves, they decided to never get involved with the supernatural again having taken a devastating blow to their own sense of morality.
Too young to understand, his parents opted to never share this story with Ethan. He was fully aware of the existence of the supernatural at this age. Ethan knew his parents "ensured good people were protected," which was why he couldn't fathom their reasons for quitting their invaluable job. They were protectors of the people; why would they leave that life behind? However, he didn't resent them for their choice. Ethan merely didn't understandā¦ until his own first encounter with a werewolf.
At age fourteen, Ethan and his friend were walking home together from their after school soccer practice. Night hadn't even fallen, but his best friend had seemingly vanished in an instant. Ethan's young and untrained eyes couldn't follow what had occurred, until he stumbled upon a gruesome sight. To this day, that image burned within his mind. From that day forward, he requested his paternal grandfather to help aid in his training to pick up the family mantle. If his parents weren't going to prevent incidents like this, then he would bear that responsibility.
The Beginnings of a Hunter
Ethan's parents did not support his choice to pursue hunting, but they didn't attempt to stop him either. He found a sense of purpose and identity within his role, and he learned skills unlike anyone else would. Of course, crafting one's own limited budget gear wasn't exactly something to put on a resume; it was still worth something. Much of his gear and weaponry were built from retired sports equipment and recycled items he found around the house. Every now and again, his grandfather would buy him something more standard and conventional (but those pieces were among Ethan's collection's minority).
He considers himself relatively withdrawn, and he's not a very forthcoming person. However, he is considerably social and not afraid to make comments when he deems them "funny enough" or necessary. He is firm in his principles and has a strong sense of self, which makes him come off a little rugged at first glance more often than not. Still, he's quite loyal to those he cares about. He does his best to protect anyone in need.

ššššš ššššššš ć
ļ¹ź° beta werewolf / šššš šš ššššš ownerćź±
šššš ć A longtime LC resident,Ā lifetime troublemaker, with a deep desire to believe in unconditional love (but never one to receive very much of it), and a natural born cynic. Loyal to HIMSELF and those who are loyal to him only. Even among his own PACK he has never been one to fall in line easily; prone to poking holes in his parachute. Solemn + lonely + angry / patient + attentive + still learning how to love .
FULL BIOGRAPHY HERE ćCONNECTIONS PAGE.
SKIM FRIENDLY SUMMARY BELOW ć
He grew up in an affluent family who put image first, with a hands-off father and a socialite mother. His natural instincts were to fight against any restrictions, and acting out is not just his second nature but his first (this stands true to this day).
They moved partially as a part of his parents careers but also to escape Hanzo's reprimands from being both a poor student and one who caused regular fights/trouble with other students.
After moving to Lunar Cove when Hanzo was 15, this did not improve immediately. But he met a girl he liked who thought he was mean and it did make him look at himself a little differently.
He shaped up just a bit, mellowed out, took up an after school job gardening for an elderly. He got his attitude and grades and sense of purpose back above board (cue the first instance of Hanzo's still remaining instinct to change himself under pressure or for others to love him).
He went through another rough patch for a while. Around 18 he found his way into the Pack, (already knowing several werewolves and having friends among the pack helped), seeking family and a sense of purpose, as well as a sense of strength and power.
Over the years he's remained loyal to the pack, though just barely. He has a hot and cold relationship with all of them, just as he does with most people in his life. But ultimately, he's been a member for so long now, the only way to leave is to make a play for the alpha (which he teeters on the thought of doing at least once a month).
He doesn't generally make friends easily, and isn't supremely easy to get along with, but he has his moments.
Much like his green thumb with plants, he is quite patient and attentive, calm and down to earth when he wants to be (keywords there lol). But once he warms up he generally has more good days than bad.
His self sabotaging habit might be clear to anyone who's known him for more than a year or 2 whoops.
A rare breed of introverted Leo, all the passion and showboating but in all the wrong ways.
Of average intelligence (lower when it comes to emotional intelligence tbh lol), he's a practical man, hands-on/man of action, he thrives when putting his head to a task, or when experimenting with an outcome.
As a business owner he's hands-on as well. He's frequently in shop and even curates his own flowers to sell there. In fact if the man has a proper passion or a single thing he doesn't keep his guard up with it's anything flowers/landscaping. It's maybe the only easy in you'll have to get closer to him without resistance.

over on patreon Tama asked for: 'Selkies who live in a lake rather than an ocean, like irl Baikal seals' so here are some fresh water friends. a jolly trader stepping out for the day, a dancer trying on an algae-dyed skirt, a cocky wrestler in pre-match ceremonial garb, and a bab.
General Selkie Facts:
Selkies in the Small Guide universe are somewhere between mermaids and werewolves. Except it would be more accurate to call them were-humanoids. They're born in seal form and their skin doesn't loosen until their first molt approaches. After this molt they can usually Ā remove their seal-skin at will, though many go their whole lives without completely removing it and just vibe in their half transformed forms by loosening their skins (seen here). They keep them attached as faux clothing since they're able to split and mold the loose skin as they please. Also, trying to find somewhere to to keep clothes when you live in or near the water your whole life is a pain. This does not hurt, as seal-skin is strangely gelatinous Ā when loose and its tactile sense is kinda garbage. Like, if you stomp on someone's skin with all your might they will certainly feel it, but it'd probably take them a while to figure out that you're gently pinching one of their weird flesh tentacles.
Also don't do that. That's weird.Ā
A seal-skin is a real living part of a selkie's body and it doesn't stop living when they completely take it off. It's an organ, and it acts like one. All skins look kind of creepy without a person inside them, but some are worse than others. It's just as likely that a skin will look like a deflated, gently pulsating, seal-shaped jelly monster as it will a roiling pile of random fur and flesh. When there's no one to control its structure, anything goes baybeeeeee.
Selkies tend to not let their skins out of their sight. Sure they can live without them, some have had to do so for decades, but staying in a completely human form for too long can have all sorts of nasty side effects. Chronic joint pain, depression, migraines, not to mention the fact that their immune systems aren't usually equip to handle germs from inland critters. Also, even though seal-skins usually attach to their bodies with ease, that gets harder with time. Someone who's Ā been kept away from their skin for 10 years isn't going to have the control they once had, and it might take weeks for them to stop looking like a seal shaped horror-terror while it fully reattaches. Even then, they'll always look...off. They call it 'transformation scarring' and it's the fear of every selkie.
You know all those fairytales about men stealing seal-skins and forcing selkies to marry them? Yeah, those weren't made by humans. Those are selkie horror stories that humans picked up and beat with the whimsy stick. And the worst part is that if you find the original versions of those stories? They're true! Specific names of the missing cows (and bulls because Nerpa selkies especially are pretty androgynous to humans with the males only being a little taller) and everything. The details just end up getting scrubbed. There have been legit selkie/human partnerships, but they look markedly different from the standard human setup. More like a long distance relationship with frequent visits and less like a kidnapping. Ā Also, more polyamory.
Nerpa selkies have had few problems with the humans in their territory, even during the war times when selkie trafficking was at an all time high. Many factors contribute to this. An incredibly inhospitable climate far from trafficers usual routes, solidarity with the nearby non-selkie tribes who thought the war was bullshit, the 17 feral drowned men that forever roam the shores of the deepest lake in the world looking for sinners, bears, ect. Also Nerpa selkies are tiny and round even when full human, the very VERY tallest among them being 5ft. Ā Rich menagerie keepers would buy them as occasional exotic touches, but found them less aesthetically pleasing than taller, thinner, selkies with more intricately patterned skins, and would often abandon them in humanoid curio shops when they got something rarer.
Fucked up.
Random tiny Facts:
Their skin isn't grey, they're just covered in grey peach fuzz. Selkies from warmer climates have little to no fuzz in their humanoid form.
Longer hair is only in full human form.
Selkies can transplant their skins to other selkies but they can be rejected like any skin graft.
Seal-skins stay alive independent of the main body for a long time, sometimes even longer than the selkie themselves. However, if it's not transplanted onto another selkie or preserved in some way it will die and start to rot about a month after its owner's death. Skins kept in bad conditions will also become sickly and start to rot in places, giving the selkie the equivalent of long distance gangrene.
During the war, seal-skins were highly prized by mermaid pirates and their allies as they would always point their snouts towards the rest of their body. This helped them find and rescue many selkies, as well as recover the dead.
Much like Sirenians, they cover their bits most of the time to set humans at ease even though they too don't have the human 'out and about' genital situation and frankly don't give a flying fish about a titty.
Scared of bears.
Excellent athletes (do not agree to wrestle a Nerpa if you know what's good for you)
Don't look into their eyes for too long.

the echo (or the answer) sneak peek
i wrote a werewolf au....Jake and Bradley are opposing Alphas. Ronnie is caught between them. Here is a little snippet:
Bradley sighed as he leaned back against the kitchen counter, thick arms crossed over his flannel clad chest. He adjusted his hat to sit more loosely on top of his head as he stared at the floor in thought. He had been doing that a lot lately ā getting lost in his own head.Ā
Especially since their dad died. And he took over the pack as Alpha. It was too much responsibility for someone so young. Half the wolves in the pack were older than him, wiser. But it was his birthright. That was unless one of them decided to challenge him and win ā demoting him back to Beta, and a wounded one at that. He was always worried that one of them would realize he wasnāt cut out for this. To be a leader, to be a true Alpha. But Ronnie could see it even if Bradley couldnāt.Ā
Every wolf in his pack respected their father too much, respected Bradley too much to even think about challenging him. Bradley was level-headed, fair, and when he wasnāt overthinking he was wiser than he let on. Plus, he had the full and unyielding support of Pete Mitchell, their fatherās best friend and second in command. If any of them even looked at Bradley funny, they would have Peteās teeth to deal with.Ā
And not to mention Ronnieās.
Bradley seemed worried about something, however, not just caught up in his own head ā but genuinely concerned. His knee bounced and his lip was caught between his teeth so harshly Ronnie was sure he would draw blood.
She folded the last grocery bag then set her palms flat on the island counter with one eyebrow ticked up. āYouāre thinking very loudly, Brad.ā
He huffed out a laugh before he replied, āRed Skyās still on the east side. Māworried they might show up on our land.ā
Red Sky ā the werewolf pack that resided on the east side of the Marnmouth logging territory. Once, long ago, Blue River and Red Sky were one in the same. One giant pack that ruled the forest with an iron fist. But a feud broke out amongst the pack members, and eventually they split apart. The Beta that took the lead and brought Red Sky to the eastern side of the territory and settled his own town there, called Bellmoral, was given the power and strength of being an Alpha. It was something that neither of the packs were able to forget. Betrayal, that kind of hurt, ran deep among werewolves. Like a scar that flared when seeing the knife that caused it.
If the packs were to meet now, it would surely start a fight ā or worse, a war.Ā
āThey wouldānt be stupid enough to do that,ā Ronnie reasoned.Ā
āI donāt know. Nobody knows. The Bellmorals are extinct.ā
āWhat?ā Ronnie asked.Ā
The Bellmorals were a well established werewolf family whose line went as far back as the Bradshaws. They had been the leaders of the Red Sky Pack for generations, going all the way back to the split. But now they were gone?
āDad found out just before the accident. The new Alphaās a Turned One. Killed Jeremiah Bellmoral in the challenge. He was the last of his family name,ā Bradley said, taking his hat off completely to scratch at his head.
A Turned One Alpha. Now those were rare. A werewolf that was bitten instead of born who won a challenge against his Alpha. Upon his leaderās defeat, the power and strength transferred from one wolf to the other. Turning his eyes from gold to blood-red.
I know this won't be what everyone on my top gun taglist wants to read, so I'll go ahead and tag you all in this sneak peak, and if you wanna be tagged (whether you're on the list or not!) in the actual story that drops tomorrow, please let me know!

The Werewolf: Past and Future (nonfiction) - NOW AVAILABLE!
Prepare to rediscover the forgotten legacy of the legendary werewolf!
Purchase here on Amazon.com!
This book represents a lifetime of work, research, and argument. Itās the centerpiece of, essentially, who I am and what I want to fight for in my life. This underwent very close scrutiny by a board of distinguished professors, and I had to defend my research and my arguments before them in order to earn my degree.
If you enjoy my werewolf facts, youāll enjoy reading this, I can guarantee it, especially if you want to hear my side of things. It wonāt be a guide to werewolves, though itāll certainly have plenty of useful information on various legends in coherent chronological order (all with proper professional attribution, footnotes, discussion, citation, etc.). ThisĀ is a great place to start to get my perspective on things while also learning about almost all the werewolf legends and info Iāve covered in various facts - and many more that I havenāt!
It means so much to me that I have finally gotten to publish this. I really hope youāll enjoy it and find it useful, educational, and thought-provoking.
