Ian and Debbie were both adorable kids like we all know that but when they grow out of that childish look it's only really Ian who people keep sympathy for.

Debbie has an awkward phase of finding herself. She wears mandys clothes and has a questionable hair style. She doesn't automatically fit what most people would deem attractive. It's like people only care about female characters if they fit into the box of "cute" or "hot." In s4/5, Debbie doesn't fit into any of these boxes, but she's going through some very similar things to Ian (like being groomed)

When Ian stops looking so childish (after s1) people still care about his problems. They still know that what kash was doing was wrong. Maybe apart of it is because of how Ian doesn't have as much of an awkward phase as Debbie. He's sure of himself in a way that she wasnt.

In s3 when Debbie is creeped on by the guy on the bus it's so easy to see how that's disgusting. In s1 when Ian is fucking kash it's easy to see how that's disgusting. Why does it stop being easy to see things as disgusting when Debbie gets older but not Ian??

i rewatched wednesday and really i don’t understand how this show could have more success than lockwood and co apart from the huge advertising it got

because yes it’s a good show the vibes are great and the plot is well written but it’s also very cartoonish

i understand why people like it and it comes from a very well known franchise so that’s an advantage

but you will never convince me that lockwood and co couldn’t have gotten the same amount of attention if netflix had actually promoted it as much as it promoted wednesday

One of our biggest pet peeves is people quoting things wrong and not saying what their quote is from. Or like. If they're telling a joke from online (Vine/Tiktok/Tumblr/YouTube/ANYTHING) and they don't disclose it but I KNOW that that's what they're doing?

Shut up. Seriously. All teenagers (& esp teenage girls) have some sort of tension with their parents. That’s just the way teenagers WORK. And Wednesday is totally valid in her annoyance because she’s having to leave her little brother who she was trying to protect AND she’s rightfully upset about constantly being compared to her mother! The tension isn’t a bad thing, it’s completely normal for a girl the age of Wednesday in the show! Besides by the end she has talked to BOTH of her parents and they have all come to an understanding!

‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.

‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.

even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.

I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.

fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.

idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

Just saw an ad for another copy-paste mobile game that flat out STOLE video promo from the game Tiny Glade! I thought it was a Tiny Glade ad and then it hard cut to another “pick up money to buy the next unlock” video and OOOOO it makes me so mad! Not only is it obviously two VERY different games, but it’s blatant theft! It just makes me so angry to see that kind of thing. Honestly I’m just sad cuz I’ve heard a lot of fashion creators are having their promotional videos AI altered and stolen. It’s just so frustrating that people even do that kind of thing.
