(WARNING RANT!!!) It is such a massive pet peeve for me that both the anime and manga calls Mr. Shrimp a Dover Demon WHEN HE IS CLEARLY NOT!! With the Flatwoods Monster the Dandadan interpretation is distinct, but still contains the main important elements (The hood, big eyes w/ angry mouth, bulky chest, funny skirt which turns into the loin cloth). I saw the Flatwoods Monster in the anime and went "OH I KNOW THAT GUY!!". Mr. Shrimp looks nothing like the Dover Demon!! At it's simplist description it is a "4 feet tall [creature] with glowing orange eyes and no nose or mouth in a watermelon-shaped head" (taken from Wikipedia). Based on the sketch produced at the time it also has long spindly fingers, and these are consistent traits. As we can see, Mr. Shrimp does not tick off any of these!! His head is vaguely watermelon shaped (especially how I draw it) but generally isn't drawn like that in the manga and anime, where it takes on a very mild mushroom shape.

He has very small eyes which are white (and in his Strong form they are yellow-orange but they look like dramatic shrimp eyes, not the big orbs a Dover Demon has). His nose and mouth are the most emphasized features of his design, ESPECIALLY when we first meet him. He's short but not that short, canonically he is 4'11" in his normal form and 5'10" in his strong form. ALSO HE WEARS BIG OLE BOXING GLOVES!!! NO STRINGY GRASPERS!!! He doesn't strongly resemble any cryptids I know about in his standard form, but he does give off strong alien vibes bc of his eyestalks and funny head shape which is more than enough. His strong form is literally just the Ultraman character Baltan.

No shade to Baltan tho. I am just so miffed because why would you call him a Dover Demon, he isn't a Dover Demon!!! GRAAAH!!

Bruh. This character had this hairstyle since 2013. People have been cosplaying her cool braids since then.

Just cause the show goes through stuff doesn't magically change the over 10 year history of those characters.

Hearing dream talk about basically scraping the main idea for the USMP due to the heavy backlash just makes me sad. He sounded sad just talking because like he said, all he wanted was a server where he can play with his friends on. Just like the early days of the dream smp but with a twist on adding other streamers from different diverse communities.

I hope he continues to push to have the USMP happen. Judging by what he said, there are still people he have talk with being interested so that's a plus.

But still, it's sad overall.

Just keep thinking all this could have been avoided if communication happen. I Just hope Dream do what makes him happy and I look forward to the USMP when it comes out.

you know what’s getting incredibly old? the way some “fans” expect taylor to be their perfect entertainment robot. back in the day, we would spend several months — if not years — enjoying the content we got, rather than demanding more. we’re so ridiculously lucky to be fans of an artist who tries to surprise and delight us at every turn, who gives us so much content to pour over. she doesn’t merely exist for our own consumption, she’s a human being who exists outside of us. please recognise that.
