I Was Enchanted to Meet You...

Synopsis: Reader has to go home, leaving all she loves and held dear to her heart behind not knowing if she will ever see this twisted world again.

In Ramshackle (y/n) had been sat in her rickety room apart from Grim who's been getting entertained by the ghosts in the living room. Crowley had urgently called her as quickly as he could and she begrudgingly picked up the phone. "Dear Prefect! There is some large news I'd like to share with you!" His voice seemed a bit too cheery, but then again, he was oh so gracious... this was probably him pulling another stunt of making her his servant and cleaning up his messes"And what would this 'big news' be Crowley?" she sighed.

"We have successfully made a way for you to go back home!"

Her breath hitched. Her stomach dropped into a bottomless pit. Did she hear that right? She was going home? She was leaving for good? Was this for good? A million thoughts raced through her mind and Crowley's voice was tuned out. Her attention was put back on Crowley once she heard his loud laugh through the phone,"Get to packing, Prefect! You will be leaving as soon as possible today! Oh, how exciting this must be for you! Hahaha!"

She took deep breaths to ground herself and tried to sound as excited as she could while holding back tears from her (e/c) eyes. ".. Okay Crowley, t-thank you..!" Her voice cracked. How could she thank anyone for an outcome this detrimental. "Hah! Of course dear Prefect, for I am gracious!" With that, the call had ended.

(y/n) grunted and threw her phone across her room, a loud bang followed as it landed on the floor. She laid back on her bed with her fingers raked through her hair. Tears fell from her eyes like waterfalls that had been building up water for much too long. No matter how much she tried to ground herself the tears just completely spilled out.

Grim suddenly opened the door. "Henchman! Why are you throwing things-" He suddenly went quiet at the sight of (y/n) weeping harder than ever before. She looked like a complete mess. "Henchman what's goin' on..?" Clearly the small cat didn't properly know how to comfort someone but it was endearing that he tried. His paw rested on her forehead as he sat down next to her.

"Grim... I-I can't leave this place.... I c-can't go home!" She yelled through broken sobs. Grim's big blue eyes widened in shock"You're... going home?" His usual loud and scratchy voice was small and quiet now. (Y/n) grunted and shot up from her bed and angrily packed a bag of the very minimal amount of things she had from this place. Her hair was a frizzy mess and her packing job was even worse. She threw things around, breaking things like having a cracked phone screen and a few broken picture frames of her and her friends and... Oh Malleus...

She stared at the broken glass of the picture frame that held a picture of her and Malleus on their first date. It had been at a nice restaurant in Briar Valley and he got special reserved VIP seats for both her and him. It was where the two of them had shared their first kiss, where he had given her those black roses than he'd enchanted with the ability to never wilt, "Like our love for each other", he said while giving them to her.

Her sobs worsened. She was screaming, crying, begging for this world just to keep her there. Large tears dripped onto the pictures she held in her hands. Grim screamed at her while on the verge of tears himself, "Take me with you Henchman!" while shaking her shoulder, but his voice had been muted out of her own little world in her head as she feverishly kept packing until the bag had become heavy and over stuffed.

She hopped to her feet, leaving the bag behind. She ran out the door of her bedroom, down the stairs and nearly tripping while she was barely able to see through her never ending stream of tears. She rubbed her eyes and wiped her drippy nose with her sleeve while she kept running out the door. Even the ghosts of Ramshackle screamed after her asking where she was going.

Where was she going? Daisomnia of course. But it seems the House Warden of said dorm had beat her to it; already standing on the stone path in her dorm with a frazzled expression on his normally calm and collected face. His eyes widened at the sight of his lover sprinting towards him, completely disheveled. "MALLEUS!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. Her chest heaved as she got closer to him with tears still slipping out of her puffy red eyes.

He stepped forwards to her running form and caught her panicking self in his strong arms and held her head against his chest while she wept."Malleus! I-I don't want to leave! I want to stay! I h-have to!" His large hand combed through her hair while he held back tears himself "I know, Child of Man. I had dreamed for months for how I would live this life alongside you. But it is true that human lives are much shorter than that of the faes. Perhaps... this is what we... I... must experience now. Had I known earlier that the Headmaster had been created a way for you to return home I would've done something sooner. I would have found a way for you to stay, Beloved. Though now, the current situation is inevitable. I detest the thought of you leaving."

His words made her cry, staining his blazer with her tears. "W-why... can't you just do something now..?" Her voice cracked and broke like shattering glass with the weight of her heavy heart. "Because as of right now I am not even sure of how you got here let alone how you are going to go back. I would've studied any way for you to stay but like I stated before, I'm unsure of how to get you back. However, I will... must find a way to get you back." It seemed as if there was a glint in his eye. Perhaps it was from the tears welling in his eyes, or maybe it was the new idea he had gained. Never the less, he guided her inside the Ramshackle dorm to gather her belongings.

The two including Grim had ended up in the mirror room. There stood Crowley, Crewel, Trein, Vargas and Sam all beside the mirror. Surrounding them had been every single student part of the Night Raven College. The more she looked around at the sea of her peers with somber faces, some even crying or holding back tears had felt like a final shot to her fragile heart. Malleus's shoulder shook while his tears fell slowly down his face.

She turned and held his face that had been tear stained. Their foreheads pressed as they connected with each other for the last time. "It was enchanting to meet you Malleus... I'll come back, wait for me..." A soft kiss was placed on his shaking lips. It was unheard of to see the Prince of Briar Valley so vulnerable to a mere human, but this human was not just anyone. It was her. The young woman who had been his first friend and his first lover. She was the young woman who he had decided early on would take the throne as his queen. Yet now, all he could do was weep seeing someone so dear to him leave right before his tearful eyes.

"I was enchanted to meet you, (y/n)."His large hands held her's that sat still, warmly pressing onto his slim pale face. It was like home. He made a final kiss on her soft and delicate palm.

She took a step back. Her hands left his face though his hands never left hers. She stepped back once again. Her shaky hands shook while she hiccuped with thick tears rolling down her cheeks. His instincts took over, pulling her hand close to him and enveloping her in a warm embrace. It was a bittersweet moment. She didn't want to leave him, or her friends, or this world.

She looked up at him with the same eyes that loved and adored him. The same exact (e/c) eyes that he would recognize her from in a heart beat. How could he forget those eyes, now welling with heavy tears that her eyes were not strong enough to hold. He was strong enough to hold them, but now he had been enfeebled. Unable to hold her tears nor his. "... (y/n)... I believe it is time for you to... leave." He whispered the last part of his words under his breath as if it would pain him to say it at full volume. His voice had slightly cracked while looking down at her with sorrow.

(Y/n) sighed shakily and peered up at him with a final smile. Her smile had felt strained. Her lips were chapped from the salty tears touching her lips and her throat ached from the sheer amount of screaming that left her mouth. Crowley held out a hand directing her toward the mirror. "I'll come back..."Her hands finally slipped from his and she stepped up to the mirror, staring at the void in front of her. She breathed deeply whilst staring at her reflection. A familiar green hand that brought her here had reached out once more.

Before her hand could grab the one in the mirror, she turned back to Malleus with a reassuring smile and a nod," Farewell for now, Malleus." She grabbed the hand and before she knew it, a void had pulled her into the dark mirror. Malleus stood idly while a commotion of wailing and loud talking from the students ensued. He stared at the mirror."... I know you'll come back... (Y/n)..." His back turned to the mirror and anyone else behind him and made his way to Ramshackle for the last time, never to return there again.

Just because I’ve never seen anyone mention that Bayverse Raphael has scarification on his right shoulder, here’s a post.

In 2016 he has a half sleeve tattoo over the scar. It’s still there.

I do see people mention their 2016 tattoos a lot but for those who didn’t know, you’re not the only one. Leo and Mike have matching tattoos on opposite arms, but all of their character designs are so complex and the lighting throughout tends to be so dark that some people don’t even notice.

Leo has a band on his left upper arm, something on his outer right forearm with a lower cuff, and a turtle motif on his upper right arm. Mike has the same turtle motif on his left. Thanks to indiblueninja on reddit for the pic.

It is, yes, a bit insane to me that their shells and plastron are shown as being bullet proof but their skin is soft enough to be penetrated by tattoo needles. The hard scars I get, blades to the face and all, but tattoo needles can get all bent just from touching the bottom of an ink cup and they blunt as they’re used. Raph’s artist (and I suspect that’s Donatello, who has no tattoos, potentially because he’s the only one who knows how to do it, right? Weird hc but here we are.) probably went through like six mags to get that done hahaha. [footnote that in repost it was noted that they pretty obviously had them done with the tebori method. Hi! I’m currently recovering from a pretty bad hip injury and am doing physical therapy right now. PT’s been really hard and hurts my hip like hell, so I was wondering if you could maybe write about either a McLaren or Ferrari driver (your choice) who’s going through it after a hip injury and is just having a really tough time, but all of the drivers (especially Lando, Charles, Carlos, Oscar, and Daniel if that’s okay - I know it’s a lot hahaha) are there to reassure her and cheer her on.

If you don’t feel comfortable writing this, I totally understand! I hope you have a nice rest of your day/night! :)

A/N: Hope I did ok with this one. Midterms prevented me from working on this but I tried to finish this as soon as possible. Hope you enjoy it.

Realistically you should be grateful that you can still walk after the massive crash you went through in Jeddah. Well “walk” is a loose term. Having to go through physical therapy and making sure your hip heals properly, you’re not able to put any weight on your foot and have to use crutches to walk. The combination of that and the lingering pain has not made the recovery process easy. But thankfully, you were only the reserve driver for Ferrari, which means you didn’t have to rush your recovery.

“How are you feeling?” Charles asked as he packed your bag for the day while you laid on the bed in your hotel room. Him and Carlos had been helping you throughout the week with getting around the Australian circuit and you were very grateful for your fellow teammates' willingness to help.

“I don’t want to walk or move. I don’t want to go anywhere.” You said.

 “I could carry you if you’d like.” Carlos said. You shook your head.

“And risk you pulling your stitches? You just got cleared to get back in the car and we both know Ferrari can’t afford to have Bearman drive right now.” You told him. 

“Please at least let me carry your stuff or drive you to the track. I'm the whole reason you got hurt.” Carlos said. 

 “No you're not Carlos. It's my own fault I crashed.” You said. You could tell that Carlos felt guilty about you having to fill in for him and then crashing during the race, but you kept trying to reassure him that injuries like yours came with the job of being a race car driver. The only person to blame for your injury is yourself, not the teammate you were filling in for.

 “But if my appendix didn't burst, you wouldn’t have been in the car.” Carlos said. Charles rolled his eyes.

 “Ok, the two of you can assign blame all you want for the rest of the day, but right now, we have to get to the paddock.” Charles said. “(Y/N), I will help you get down to the car. Carlos, you can carry her stuff.”

Charles helped you get out of bed and get situated with your crutches while Carlos grabbed your bag and the two helped you get down to the hotel lobby.

You had barely made it past the paddock entrance and the fan barricades before everything started to hurt. You knew that navigating the paddock was going to be difficult but you didn’t expect to have to stop and rest everytime your hip decided to flare up with pain. You had already told Carlos and Charles to go ahead of you, not wanting to slow them down. They were hesitant to leave you behind, but you assured them that it’s better they make it to the team meeting on time than have them constantly wait for you. 

 “Hey (Y/N)! How are you doing?” You looked up from leaning on your crutches to see Daniel and Oscar approaching you. They seemed to be in high spirits with it being their home race. 

“I’m doing ok. I’m trying to get to the Ferrari garage but I’m having some difficulty.” You said, motioning to your hip.

 “Let me help you then. I’ll give you a piggyback and get you there in no time.” Daniel said.

 “Are you sure? I don’t want you to risk anything before your home race.”

 “Nonsense. Plus it’s better than you having to walk all the way on crutches.” Daniel said with a smile that was hard to say no to you. You reluctantly agreed and handed your crutches to Oscar before climbing on Daniel’s back. 

“C’mon, I’ll get you to the Ferrari garage.” Daniel said. Oscar followed you two and the three of you started conversing on your expectations for the upcoming race. You did admit to Daniel that the piggyback was much better than walking. Without the crutches, your hands were free to wave to fans as you passed and that helped improve your mood. 

“Oh, (Y/N). My gran made these for the McLaren team and I grabbed you one as a get well soon gift.” Oscar said, handing you a nicely wrapped pastry. 

 “Aww, thanks Osc.” You said. You unwrapped the pastry and took a bite. It was delicious and you smiled. 

 “Oh my god. Oscar, can your gran send these to me every time I get injured? I can already feel my hip healing.” You said. Oscar chuckled.

“I’ll let her know you liked them. But promise me you won’t get injured just for the sake of my gran’s baking.” Oscar said.

 “I promise.” You told him.

“What if I don't recover from this?” 

It was late at night. You and other drivers were at a club celebrating Carlos’s win, but you had to step out to get some air.

 “You will. And after you've recovered, you'll win the next race you're in. It's a basic guarantee now with Carlos’s win.” Lando said, who had decided to join you outside to make sure you were ok. 

“I won’t be in another race for a long while. Either Charle’s appendix needs to burst or Kevin needs to get more penalty points for me to be in another race this season.” You said. 

 “Well with the way Magnussen drives, I think you’ll actually have a shot again this season.” Lando said. The two of you let out small laughs, knowing that statement was sort of true.

 “I have to be fully healed before they let me get back into the car.” You said, your smile slowly dropping. “With how everything keeps hurting, especially after physical therapy, I can’t help but feel like that’s not a possibility.” 

“Hey, look at me.” Lando moved your head so you could look him in the eyes. 

 “I know my words can’t automatically heal you, but I need you to know that this pain will eventually pass. You’ll heal, and you’ll get back in that car.” He said. He placed his arm around you and pulled you close to his side without trying to aggravate your injury.

 “And when you do get back in that car, you’ll win that race. Proving that nothing can stop you.”

The smile returned to your face and you pulled Lando in for a hug.

 “I can feel myself getting better already.”

Heyy! So we know Louis has been through a lot to build up his confidence on stage after 1D, and he’s really grown in his stage presence—it also seems like he feels more sure of himself when it comes to the choices he makes in his career. On the other hand, Harry has always come off as super confident and like he doesn't really get anxious about his shows or his career in general. Do you think he’s actually like that—really confident and not much of an overthinker when it comes to his career?

Oh my god, I think Harry is definitely the bigger overthinker here! Hahaha. But I totally get where you're coming from. Louis went through a lot that really impacted his confidence, specifically. His mannerisms and the way he used to carry himself on stage, he really became visibly insecure about performing, and it took him a while to rebuild that!

Harry seems like a natural, but if you really pay attention, it’s actually pretty clear that he gets nervous too — especially during big performances. He’s mentioned before that he gets super anxious, and you can tell in his voice, his body language, even little things like his hands shaking. Thinking about his last era, performances like Coachella and especially the Grammys come to my mind... and he was so visibly nervous! There really are a lot of moments where you can really see it come through. And then when it comes to interviews or public speaking, that’s definitely not his strong suit either.

To be honest, Harry comes across as pretty hard on himself sometimes. And Louis, imo tends to take things a bit more lightly in general... but he went through some really heavy shit that clearly affected the way he carries himself. So honestly, I think they’re both overthinkers — it just shows up differently depending on the situation and everything they’ve been through.

In daddies HQ, while they were chasing the boys, Lark got knocked out, and Sparrow had to go and save him.

A lot of people also forget that at the beginning of oakvale; it was specified that when they play the lord of chaos, Sparrow is the base while Lark is the head. Sparrow literally, physically, supporting him.

Sparrow (S1): "If you want something done, you gotta do it yourself."

This is why Sparrow started code purple. Why he was the one who went to enact it while having lark stay behind. Not only because he was trying to protect his family and friends, but because he has learned that he cannot rely on others to do what needs to be done. To follow through on what was started.

Will said in one of the teen facts from season one that Sparrow was born first and technically the older brother. I think that rings differently now that we see him as an adult still forced to take responsibility for his twin. To see him trying to fix what mistakes Lark made, the destruction that he started. Trying to mend the frayed relationship with his father, who will never forgive him for protecting his family, while watching his brother shun that same relationship after dooming the world and being immediately offered the forgiveness that sparrow so desperatly wants.

Even knowing it would ruin the world, and ruin his relationship with Henry, Sparrow still enacted code purple. Because if you want something done, you have to do it yourself.

I like to think he does have a conversation with Undyne later, talking about what happened and how you're both dealing with it. It's a bittersweet moment for the two of them, with Undyne assuring him that your death is not in vain and your memory will always live on

The captain of the royal guard also grieves for you

He'll move on, he'll be fine, he'll accept what happened and he'll cope if not for his brother's sake alone, but anytime your death is a sore spot and there's not a day that goes by when he doesn't miss you

The verbal lashing is brutal and frankly hard to watch

It looks like a fight might break down but he eventually just storms off, bitter and angry still. And he's not just angry at Undyne he's angry at you for staying in such a risky job and not protecting yourself better, he's angry at whoever fucking killed you, he's angry at himself for not being there, he's just....angry

And then he's sad.

He'll cry behind closed doors then and only then, otherwise he's doing everything in his power to make sure no one knows his suffering

Grumpier and snapper than usual, especially if anyone dares to bring up your name around him

He is....drinking a lot, A LOT more than usual and if it weren't for his brother he might be dead of alcohol poisoning himself. It's bad. And it stays that way for awhile.

Papyrus and the many residents of Snowdin genuinely fear he won't recover or ever quit be the same again, Papyrus even offers that the two of them avenge you somehow hoping to get him back to normal somehow but....he doesn't even humor the idea

Constantly flip flopping between "it should have been me" or "we should have never got together" or even just going "nah i'm fine i even forgot who i was upset about" when it's the furthermost thing from the truth

I haven't finished my epic lore post for how I write his universe but TLDR for rn, the royal guard does exist and it's mostly normal! Hell, he frequently services them and it was probably how you two met

He loved boasting about how his partner was part of such a cool job and loved being eye candy on your arm while you walked around in your armor

Yeah, it's all fun and games until you don't arrive home one night....he already gets a bad feeling but once there's a knock on the door and it's just Undyne there.....oh no

Tries not to cry, tries to keep it together but before he knows it there's runny mascara running down his face and he quickly turns into an emotional mess

This can't be happening, it can't be happening, it isn't happening, it's a bad dream and he'll wake up in your arms then you'll both make some dumb jokes

He does cry himself to sleep, he does wake up, but you're not there

He tries to just carry on per usual, he does his job, he does his typical stuff but it's painfully clear he's barely holding it together

While working with a client, they happened to call him the same nickname you frequently used and he cannot stop himself from breaking down in front of them

It's easy to forget that underneath all that silliness Fresh is a terrifying creature capable of doing some fucked up things, but rest assured no one in your world forgot that today

He laid that entire universe to ruin, giving Error a good run for his money, man went completely fucking insane. Laughing, crying, screaming and doing shit straight of a nightmare, nothing is left.

Some of the other Sanses tried to stop him but there was barely anything they could do, they just barely managed to awkwardly brag him away once he's done raging and he breaks down finally

At the end....he just....cries....

He's not seen for awhile and when he is seen, he's....normal? Acting like nothing happened and just doesn't acknowledge when your name is said

Apparently success stories are motivational or shit, so here is one for y'all. Not really my thing to share success stories normally, but this one is so dumb and fast maybe it helps someone. Take it or leave it basically ┐( ˘ ��� ˘ )┌ Anyway, context: I do digital art. Like a lot, a metric fuckton of drawing anime men. And I have been using the same monitor since the beginning of my art journey. I love that crusty old bastard, we have been through a lot. But like most good things lately it has been going downhill. Not in a "look how quirky" - kind of way. More like the "I may implode mid-project and flash seizure lights at you" - kind of way. And the power button stopped working, so it won't even turn off. Do I have other monitors? Yes. Are they decent for digital art? Hahaha... no. Yeah, I could use one of them in case my monitor suddenly flatlines while I'm trying to merge some layers or play Genshin or Dead By Daylight or whatever. But honestly? I rather wrestle my old monitor out of the afterlife than deal with whatever piss-yellow color settings filter those monitors have going on. But I wasn't actively looking for a new monitor either, because a decent one costs more than my will to live. Not ready for that kind of financial trauma. Didn't thought about manifesting one either, my brain kinda forgot this was an option. What happened? I saw an absolute unit of a monitor at my friends desk. Colors so juicy they made my eyes water and my heart lurch. Size big enough to show me my shrimp like posture while drawing in full HD reflection. I thought "Damn this thing is nice. I will get one like that one day. Mine". That was it. No drama, no longing gazes at the monitor, no dropping hints at my friend that I want the monitor. No hints that my old one was being cranky and slowly turning into a microwave. Just looked at that spicy monitor and internally decided one like that would be mine. Fast forward not even 24 hours later and my friend suddenly turns to me and asks: "Hey, you want that monitor? I never use it anyway". That exact monitor I locked eyes with the day before. Zero effort, zero mental crisis. We swapped, one of my backup monitors for that gorgeous piece of display heaven (that thing has touchscreen too T-T). "But Mochi, why are you telling us this boring story???" Because sometimes shit just works like that. No need to strangle or micromanage every detail of your manifestations. I wanted it, I probably mentally claimed it and went on with chugging a liter of hot chocolate with milk despite being lactose intolerant. No pressure, no mental crisis, no "what if I never get a monitor that nice?", no "I need it now or I'll explode." Same applies to shifting more or less. Maybe we should sometimes back off and trust the process, and maybe the 3D will get its ass up and actually do shit. And yeah, I struggle with that in regards to shifting too. No shame in admitting that. I want my DR so bad and now and I question everything I do twice, I basically build a brick wall in front of myself. But shit like those small manifestations make us learn, right? Right ^-^

Marvelous day to you, good sir/ma'am! I have a burning question in dire need of answering, and thus I have decided to turn to the one and only Monster Mashing Morbius Master John "Dunmeshi" Stash for help!

(Well, actually, I have multiple burning question but I'm saving those other questions for later since I'd like to do some research beforehand when I have the time before I resort to asking more questions.)

For a while now, I have been compiling my thoughts on all of Dungeon Meshi's characters and summing up different interpretations for myself, and this has been going swimmingly all things considered! However, one of these characters I have seen very little interpretations of aside from a handful of incredible fan fictions is the one and only "guy of all time"! Toshiro Nakamoto! Most people I talk to about the fella don't really have anything to say that I myself don't already think; that being that he's definitely the person of all time, a well-written character, understandably though no less dreadfully non-communicative, a poor team leader who could most definitely use some improvement, is complicit in Izutsumi's treatment—which, for the record, I think is good writing and makes sense, especially for the time, though that doesn't mean I won't hold it against him either way—and immensely patient for being able to put up with that little bell thing whatchamacallit. Overall he is just well-written, and his confrontation with Laios—not to mention the way Laios responds—is just... mwah! Chef's kiss! Both sides of that particular fight were also pretty relatable to me and taught me something valuable. It's just... a really good fight scene! Me likey! Life lessons with Dungeon Meshi, hahaha!

I get that there's likely not a whole lot else to go through since he doesn't appear all that often and really is just the person to ever exist, but before I wanted to move on to the next character, I decided to hop by and see if perhaps you'd be willing to share your opinion on him! Maybe you have something interesting I hadn't considered!

That said I'm maybe not the best person to ask opinions about Toshiro since I'm a known "not fan" of him, I have come to like him more compared to when I first finished dunmeshi but I probably still have some biases, I'll try not to lean too negative on this tho

With that in mind here's my thoughts

I think Toshiro is a great well written character too! His fight with Laios is amazing and I think on his side of the conflict is a culmination of his worst flaw: He's terrified of confrontation and just passively expects things to resolve themselves.

In the example of the Ogre extra he WANTS to do something about Tade being so thankfull to someone who enslaved her but he wont because he's afraid of challenging how things are/afraid of conflict/confrontation.

I don't think he's a bad person tho, I think he's just passively going thru the motions of life, Toshiro is constantly just thrown around by the people around him without resisting it, he didn't to go to the Island of his own accord: he's there because his father made him go, he didn't choose the retainers that went with him and he didn't even choose to join Laios' party, he just let it happen to him (which is also relatable unfortunately, get a grip man)

Even when having to speak up against Laios in their backstory comic Namari has to pull him to join them in the complaint, he wasn't gonna say anything even if it did bother him (unclear if it did)

Letting other people push and pull you around is also choice tho, he barely tries to resist them and never makes his boundaries clear. In a way him and Falin are similar actually, how both of them just go with what other people want instead of what they themselves want, their reasons are very different (Falin does it because it's what she thinks her loved ones want/need of her, Toshiro does it because he would rather not fight against it) but it is a harmful situation for both of them, you gotta live for yourselves guys.

The thing is that it's not like it doesn't bother him to be pushed around, in the Laios fight years of bottled up emotions finally burst out and he says everything he was holding in the worst way possible, instead of managing his frustrations and setting boundaries with Laios he held it all in until he couldn't anymore, my man is not good at communication or handling conflict.

In another example he gets pissed off at Maizuru for using the Hag to scare him as a kid but also decides not to say anything about it, his relationship with Maizuru is actually also based on repressed feelings that he would rather bottle up and not think about (maybe these too will burst out one day if he doesn't properly deal with it)

But the thing about Toshiro I like the most honestly it's his feelings towards Falin, I might have made fun of him for literally goin "I like her cause she's not like other girls" but honestly I get it, she's a mystery, someone who is always only doing things for other people, and he saw her showing genuine interest in something that wouldn't matter for most people, or most people would find disgusting, so he was interested in her.

People joke that Falin and Laios are the same so Toshiro should like Laios too but Falin isn't as open and bold as Laios, so I think Toshiro wants to actually get to know her, but as I understand for his culture being interested in a woman and wanting to be close to her means asking her in marriage? and so he did, and even then he was still not being clear about his feelings.

That's why I LOVE the extra where him and Falin are finally honest and direct to each other, they're both people who just accept what others push onto them, Falin herself never gave him a response for a year cause she similarly would rather avoid conflict, but here they finally start being honest and direct with each other. I'm pretty sure he knew what her response would be but he still clearly told her and accepted her answer, my man confronted something uncomfortable gracefully, good job.

I avoided speaking on the more negatives opinions I have cause I believe those are what most people talk about but even with the negatives I think Toshiro has room to grow and definitely seems to already be on that path, like Maizuru says he has potential to be a great leader, he just needs to finally take charge of his own life and not be afraid to disrupt how things are

Just as a final thought I wish (some) people realized he has power over his retainers and even Maizuru, who people think is the source of his trauma, is still just a subordinate that can't really do anything against him. The source of his trauma is his father who also has power over Maizuru and made her raise his son (while still having an affair with her) if you're gonna blame someone for how he is blame his father smh

And AGAIN- KENDRA IS COMPLETELY INEBRIATED- She will most likely not even REMEMBER THIS MOMENT- Will Donnie tell her? Will this be a hilarious story that causes an argument later down the lines in their marriage?

WHO KNOWS. 🤷‍♀️ And it DOESN’T END THERE-

Not ONLY is Donnie flying through the five stages of grief like a boss level mini game- but Kendra, even in her drunken state, noticed that Donnie had that dumb makeup on him to cover up his markings for the party. And she just- gently- caresses his cheek to wipe it off.

Yeah, Donnie’s gonna die from either too much happiness or being way too flustered. Either way-

Despite being completely paralyzed in fear love, Donnie’s gaze quickly makes its way to where Big Mama and Frida are. And what does he see that gives him this horrified of an expression?

… Expectation SUBVERSION- the SWEETEST I’ve ever seen. 🥹 Donnie’s being so gentle with her what the HECK DJFUJWVXMISUDHWBSUW I adore these two- they love each other so much- caring for each other despite their qualms and history- AAAAAA ITS SO GOOOOOOD!!!

And now that Kendra is safe and away from Big Mamas prying eyes, Donnie has time to ABSOLUTELY FREAK OUT.

THIS DUDE went from feeling nothing to feeling EVERYTHING. And we get to watch and die laughing at his expense~ *WHEEEEEEZE*

Alright- with emotions and feelings and imagination WAY TOO HIGH, Donnie tries to distract himself.

The comedy in this chapter is just top tier~ I was at work when I read it the first time, and I broke out laughing and wheezing. (So grateful I work alone HA)
